Most unexpected NPC your muse met in Bodie’s Haunt? also any clue on the reason behind this place name? this is the most interesting part to me!
Bodie's Haunt: Ghostwriter
The most unexpected one was probably the Ghostwriter, one of the last figures the party met after the mission was completed, little before leaving what was left of the town. He was an entity tied to a book found in a sort of laboratory on the upper floor of Bloody Jormat's refuge. Whatever the core of the content of its book was, however, won't be discovered so easily, for Rasmia claimed it for a contract before the time to investigate happened. (Player's note: it wasn't even ever discovered that the rune on its cover, read Azab, was a power word in a language that Zinnya could understand. Her player is still crying over that!)
About Bodie's Haunt itself, unfortunately, not many informations were gathered. Everything the team knew was that the town had been infected and invaded by the undead for quite some time; the most specific informations learnt before leaving Deadbridge were about a friend of Echo, Keelu, who also died while trying to fight for his people. The Headmaster wanted to figure out what happened and eventually have him freed with the rest of the unfortunate souls who belonged there.

Completely made up: Prince Harry allegedly watched The Crown to learn about his own family by u/Maleficent-Trifle940
Completely made up’: Prince Harry allegedly watched The Crown to learn about his own family ‘Completely made up’: Prince Harry allegedly watched The Crown to learn about his own family | Sky News AustraliaA biographer of Queen Elizabeth II has made bombshell new claims about the late monarch’s private outrage over her grandson Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle. The Sussexes stepped back from royal duties in January 2020 and later publicly slammed the monarchy in interviews, books and the couple’s Netflix series.Author Craig Brown believes Elizabeth II, who died in September 2022, would be mortified by Harry and Meghan’s efforts to continually undermine the royal family and cash in on their royal titles.“The Queen was quite disapproving of their drift towards celebrity,” he told SkyNews.com.au.“She gave Harry and Meghan sort of short thrift, Harry in his memoir was quite irritated by her, when he wanted to see his grandmother before leaving she would only see him with a lot of other people in the room.”Mr Brown is the author of the new book A Voyage Around the Queen, which combines biography, essays, cultural history, dream diaries, travelogue and satire to reveal a new side to the iconic monarch. While Elizabeth II remained diplomatic towards the Sussexes during her lifetime, Mr Brown believes the Queen left clues, including the famous “recollections may vary” statement after the Sussexes’ Oprah Winfrey interview.“That’s one where you could discern what she meant: ‘you’re lying really’,” he said.Earlier this week, the Sussexes’ released a new teaser for Harry’s Netflix series Polo the day after Princess Catherine confirmed she had completed chemotherapy treatment for cancer. The stunt was the latest in a mysterious pattern of announcements by the Sussexes which coincided with royal occasions.Mr Brown said he was wary not to “speak for” the late monarch but believes based on her lifelong commitment to duty that she would be displeased about Harry’s new celebrity lifestyle in California.“I guess the Queen would find that vulgar,” he said.“But she was good at ignoring what she didn’t want to think about.”The author also revealed a new theory that Harry may be relying on fictional programs like Netflix’s The Crown for “information” on his own family.“The Crown devoted a lot of time to the Queen being jealous of Princess Margaret, but that was completely made up,” he said.  “I’ve read everything and there’s no suggestion that the Queen was ever envious of her sister.”Mysteriously, Harry mentioned the debunked story of Elizabeth II’s supposed jealously towards Margaret in his best-selling memoir Spare."As I grew older, it struck me that Aunt Margo and I should've been friends,” he wrote.“Her relationship with Granny wasn't an exact analog of mine with Willy, but pretty close."The simmering rivalry, the intense competition (driven largely by the older sibling), it all looked familiar."Mr Brown suspects the Duke of Sussex, or Harry’s ghostwriter, lifted the story straight from The Crown and believes it is evidence Harry has watched the fictional series to learn about Elizabeth II.Meanwhile, the author claimed Prince William is looking to the smaller and less scandal-prone monarchies in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, and will likely use the Scandinavians as a model for his reign.“William is more like the Scandinavian royal families, they will scale down and place less emphasis on pomp,” he said.  post link: https://ift.tt/rnv9kY5 author: Maleficent-Trifle940 submitted: September 14, 2024 at 08:48AM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit disclaimer: all views + opinions expressed by the author of this post, as well as any comments and reblogs, are solely the author's own; they do not necessarily reflect the views of the administrator of this Tumblr blog. Did you know L.J. Smith was fired from writing the Vampire Diaries books?? Do you think this relates to the show at all? It's oddly coincidental that she was planning to write more Bonnie and Damon content. She even said her publisher didn't like the direction which she was going with all the relationships, particularly that Damon had more than platonic feelings for both Bonnie & Elena.
Hi Anon !
Yes I have heard about the controversy surrounding The Vampire Diaries books and how the original author of the first couple books was fired to be replaced by a ghostwriter.
-I only learnt about this from a TVD analysis video I watched a while ago by a YouTuber called Jenny Nicholson, (the video is really good btw and I definitely recommend giving it a watch if you haven't already seen it !)
A very brief summary: L.J. Smith was hired by a company to write a book series and so she came up with TVD, at a certain point in the series the company didn't like the direction L.J Smith planned to take the books (I've heard this may have been due to her planning different endgame couples for the books compared to what the show was planning at the time and I've seen some conflicting ideas about which couples she intended exactly) so they fired and replaced her.
I've personally never read the TVD books, but from what I've heard L.J Smith did seem like she was a lot more open to exploring different romantic pairings in the books compared to how close-minded the writers of the TVD show were.
I think the TVD show writers definitely missed out by not including what seemed like Bonnie and Damons complicated feelings/ romantic connection for each other that the books seemed to be building, I think it would have been much more messy/ entertaining to watch rather than the Stefan-Elena-Damon triangle that they rehashed every 2-5 business days 😭
By deliberately leaving Bonnie out of so many storylines, the TVD show writers missed the opportunity for a much more dramatic/ engaging show overall.
Also, I'm sure it goes without saying but fuck the company that fired L.J Smith from writing for her own books that she came up with, fucked up and greedy smh
*Though apparently L.J.Smith continued to write for the series as unofficial "fanfiction" (I'm not sure where/ if its still available to access tho sorry) and in those fics Damon and Bonnie did date/ fall in love from what I've heard (and were maybe endgame too ?)
So I think that's everything I know about that situation lol, also I'm so sorry in advance in case of any inaccuracies about the situation, this is just what I've seen online but since this all happened a while ago there seems to be some debate/ inconsistencies regarding certain parts that were a bit confusing but this is what I've gathered from the situation in general, hope its okay.
Thank you for the ask ! 💖
Here's the link for the YouTube video I mentioned if you'd like to watch it :

Webtoon recommendations 😘🥰😍
Silent Screams by Glamist (ongoing, 2023) - I don't want to spoil anything but it's this light thriller and it's soooo good, the official description doesn't describe shit there's way more to it than it seems.
2. The Blind Prince by cozycroww (ongoing, 2023) - fantasy romance, but very easy to understand. Addicting art style, also, lots of birds! 😍😍😍
3. Ghostwriter - Apocryphal by Nor5tar (ongoing, 2024) - fantasy, also easy to follow. So emotional I swear I'm crying at the prologue. Got attatched to the characters even though the series just started.
4. Jackson's Diary by Paola Batalla (ongoing, 2021) - supernatural highschool comedy drama thingy. SEASON THREE!!! WOOOOOH. The fandom is kind of mental and I'm sure you've heard of it at least once. May seem overrated, but it really isn't.
5. Homesick by Ms. Freaky (ongoing, 2021) - another thriller, amazing art style!!! Characters are all special in their own way and easy to obsess with. Kind of heartbreaking as well. Season two ended this year.
6. The D!ckheads by GummyBunni (ongoing, 2023) - highschool lovey dovey romance drama, cute art!!! Kind of cheesy at times but honestly really cool, love the characters.
7. School Bus Graveyard by Red (ongoing, 2021) - thriller, huge plot twists!!! I'm trying not to praise the characters again but it's what I always get attatched to in stories. I'd say it's great for someone who's new into thrillers, nice fandom as well.
I'm too lazy to check if I got all the links right. Also, tw for Silent Screams.

Who is Logan Jacobs?
Previously on the Vampire Diaries
Or it would be more accurate to ask who is Michael Earle Scott.
He. 👆🏻 this man above is allegedly a Haremlit author 📌 (put a pin on that). Who has a lot of titanium frame bikes, don't ask me why he needed to say that to us in his author bio. But here you go.
He was an accountant turned author who likes badass violence and detailed sex. His words not mine.
He writes everything himself. Not allegedly this time he has said it publically.
Tumblr media
~I work 120+ hours a week.~
Ok Scott.
If you say so Scott.
I don't know maybe you are back to your accounting job because certainly you don't spend 120 hours writing Scott.
He has a publishing house MSE publishing 📌 (putting a pin on that one too).
NEXT UP, and hold on tight because we need the context for what comes next.
Mse is a small publishing house that publishes I guess his books. I went to their page, and either the rest of the authors they have are in witness protection. Or they only publish his books.
But again, I might be dumb and don't know how to google so you know.
So.
Let's math.
We have
He says he writes his own books. 📌
Mse publishes his books. 📌
Mse publishing is his company.
And our third factor is this equation.
Tumblr media
We have... let's call them Kyle.
Kyle is a ghostwriter for Mse publishing.
And here is... Kyle Reloaded.
Tumblr media
And ex ghost writer for Mse publishing.
I would have shown Kyle Revelations the third as well but you get it. The math don't math up anymore.
So.
Scott is either.
A) Lying about writing his own books.
Or.
B) He is into financial domination and hired a bunch of ghostwriters he pays every month to do nothing.
C) They run out of houseplants to decorate his company's office so he decided to get a bunch of ghostwriters instead.
If its B) or C) I want him to know that I don't kinkshame him.
But I really think in my personal opinion that it's A).
And in that case I will be calling him an "allegedly writer".
Seems fitting.
Part 2 of this post.
Was. Ai involved?
And this is going to be a short segment.
All I can tell you is that I reverse image searched some his latest covers and it led me to AI "artists" accounts.
Which is fucking hilarious if you ask me that the allegedly author hired a bunch of allegedly artists.
He used to hire true artists for his covers once. But then 2022 happened and the majority of the art afterwards leads to AI bullshitartists.
I wonder what might have happened that year.
Tumblr media
I guess it will always be a mystery...
Tumblr media
Oh what did I drop?
My bad Imma pick that one up real soon don't worry.
He couldn't be lying about using AI art for his covers. He is so honest when it comes to everything else...
Tumblr media
Ah fuck me. I dropped another thing...
I am so sorry I will pick that one up as well.
He is certainly not a liar guys.
He wrote all his books on his own as well and we know how that one goes.
Tumblr media
Oops. Butter fingers. Again, what is wrong with me today?
Wait that's not...
That is...
Tumblr media
Boy there must be a unique definition of irony for this one.
You might tell me you are too sensitive.
But need I remind you.
That this man has allegedly stolen a queer person's face to make his other authorsona more credible.
You know my imaginary friend.
This investigation is tiring.
I was going to make fun of his books at one point.
In the name of more lighthearted times
But what is the point? He doesn't write them. Some poor underpaid lad does and I won't make fun of them.
He is weird when it comes to queer people and women.
But who expected anything else.
He says he is a New York Times best selling author.
Haven't found proof of that outside his own webside. Again I might be dumb but why is it so hard to find the truth in general with this man.
He was dropped from amazon alongside some other oh so honest writers. Ten peas in a pot and all of them yeeted out the door.
Is anyone shocked at this point?
No.
Maybe just tired.
Me too sis.
I just wanted to read some trashy harem book and ended up going down a rabbithole with Alice.
This investigation could be 20 parts long.
But do I want to be a Michael Scott Earle exposed tumblr blog?
I think not.
So I will prematurely bury the corpse and tell you who Logan Jacobs is.
Logan Jacobs is allegedly an alternative authorsona of an allegedly haremlit author who has stolen a queer person's face, working for a publishing house that is allegedly doesn't exist and is-connected to Michael Earle Scott. Who is the head of a haremlit cheapo empire with no heart or soul to speak of. A man who sits most depressed in his streams, in front of that screen, having "written" so many books just ignore the ghostwritters behind him. Who was kicked by the house of Jeff Bezos, who might have lied about his status as a NYT best selling author. And if true that Logan, Eric and Michael is the same entity will habe the legacy of someone who has saturated a whole genre by treated writing like its a hot dog factory.
A sad, repetitive not very sexy hot dog factory.
Allegedly.
What do I know. I am just a dumbass online with an internet connection.
And it's time I put this chapter of my life behind.
Tumblr media
Also someone tried to hack my account from the good ol US of A.
Also got a mail of someone threatening to dox me.
So you know.
Maybe I should just stick to mini painting and shitposts.
I don't feel like going through all that skullfuckery.
Again.

Is Dries unemployed now?Bitch deserves it.Ooh my kc friend had the time of her life.fml.
thnx for getting back though.Actually it's called Stefan's Diaries. It's like a prequel to the books and this girl who was in stefan's life before Katherine was Rosalyn Cartwright. She was engaged to Stefan lolololol and was murdered by katherine after her 16th birthday.I'm not sure how much this is considered canon since this was written by some ghostwriter but Rosalyn never became a vampire unlike her tv show counterpart who was getting inserted in every damn situation.OMG GTFO!
According to IMDB she hasn't done anything since Gotham Knights in 2023 so I hope that sticks! I did notice she was only a consulting producer on that show as opposed to showrunner on Batwoman so I hope that means her reputation took a hit.
OMG yes I remember that now! I can't remember if I read the Stefan Diaries but the Rosalyn story I totally remember now that you brought it up. I wonder if that was the inspiration for Valerie at first, damn Katherine really good have helped us out if she followed her book counterpoint. TBH I actually ended up liking Valerie in the end after I rewatched S7, she was definitely shady and manipulative but she wasn't annoying and I'm glad she got to live. I mean I only disliked her when I watched S7 live because the show was making it seem like she was the reason SC broke up, when in the end she was just a prop to show how Stefan couldn't move on from Caroline. Unlike how he moved on from Elena once she chose Damon within a few months, with Caroline it was three years and he was still deeply in love with her. Even though he had a girl who loved him completely and would do anything for him and Caroline was engaged with a family he never moved on, as soon as that scar was gone everyone knew he'd show up on Caroline's doorstep.

Those other LJ Smith series
So I read Night World and Secret Circle and just adored them. And still do, though as a teen I adored them unironically and as an adult... well, with a lot more laughing at the bonkersness of them. I read Dark Visions and enjoyed them, and I really liked the two Arthurian books that are sort of oddball books because they're fantasy-fantasy not horror/romance/pre-YA YA like the rest of Ms. Smith's bibliography.
I tried to read Vampire Diaries and Forbidden game and just never got far into them. The characters and worlds just didn't grab me. I didn't need to read them to do blog posts since having a tumblr blog wasn't a thing then so I cheerfully ignored them.
Recently though I've learned a lot more about these two series through the medium of youtube hilarity. Brave youtubers have done extensive breakdowns of the series and posted them for the rest of us to binge while pulling weeds and scrubbing the floors.
First I'd like to recommend Grimmelle's three-video recap of the Forbidden Game series, illustrated with dollmaker images of the characters.
youtube
Second, Gavin Reads it All read all the Vampire Diaries books. And haaaaaaates them, with a semi-friendly sort of hate. But he does recap the whole plot of all thirteen books-- there were 13? that is a large number. So you can listen and find out what happened throughout the series.
He doesn't distinguish between the actual LJ Smith books and the ghostwritten books, I mean he knows about the ghostwriter but he judges them all as being the same series which is a valid take but judging them as being different series with different authors would also have been a valid take, y'know? But both writers seem to have equally problematic stuff and take the story to equally stupid places so it hardly matters!
Possibly I give LJ Smith too much credit because I feel sorry for her. ^^;

"Does Moehringer have a cause of action against the publisher for the bookstores publishing early?"
No - it's pretty commonplace for bookstores to put things out early. Sometimes accidental, sometimes deliberate. They don't really care about the #'s in the context the publishers do, they're just looking for sales. That seems to be especially the case in Spain with the holiday - Epiphany, is it? - and they believed their sales would be higher if they released it early. At most, it'll be a he-said/she-said between the stores and the Spanish arm of the publisher as to who is to blame.
I think Moehringer was given what was essentially Harry's diaries and had to knit them together. He's apparently known for keeping his author's "voice," a good sign in a ghostwriter, so this must have been a very painful exercise for him.
I think announcing a ghostwriter was a bad idea - it's called a ghostwriter for a reason, it's not supposed to be known. He probably isn't flattered by the re-translation, but I suspect there isn't much to be flattered by in the English version, either.
Thanks!

2, 12, 16, 50 for the bookasks :)
2) Favorite fantasy book(s). I wouldn't really say fantasy is one of my favorite genres, at least not anymore, but I read a good amount when I was a bit younger. The Vampire Diaries books were great until the ghostwriter bullshit, I love Twilight even though it makes me cringe, and I remember adoring this series called The Midnighters by Scott Westerfeld when I was in seventh grade. The only fantasy I've read recently was Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune and it was really good and made me cry 4 separate times lol
12) Favorite horror book(s). I have TONS on my list that I want to read, but of course Edgar Allan Poe, I love Four Past Midnight by Stephen King which is a collection of four short stories, I did really enjoy Dracula, and Tender is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica was fucking nuts but really good and does a great job of taking something so incomprehensibly awful and making it so believable that you think it could actually happen (think TLOU).
16) Favorite trilogy. Already answered (The Hunger Games and The Testing series by Joelle Charbonneau) and I genuinely can't think of any other trilogies I've read lmao
50) What kind of book have you never read but always hope to find at some point in the future? Is it dumb to say a book that I write? I love writing though I've never been the most consistent and am my own worst critic, but should I ever get my shit together and the stars align and I become a published author, I feel like at some point I'd write something super self-indulgent that I could pour my whole heart into and hopefully have it resonate with others as well. I definitely have books that are 5/5 for me, that feel like they check every single box, but no one person is going to write the same exact story.

It sucks having ideas and no way to know how to make them work.
For example, I love the idea of writing stories for someone specifically, so I became a ghostwriter... but thats not really what I want.
If I could dream up a job, I would spend my days creating and writing tailored letters for people. Like, you're writing a period romance novel and you want marketing materials or even just stuff to show your fans?
Tell me who I am and what my situation is, tell me how I'm supposed to feel about this person I'm writing to, and I will write you a series of letters, really put time into them. Use specific kinds of paper and research the time period.
I'll write love letters from someone who never existed to someone who never existed and pour my whole heart into it.
Or a diary set in a time and place that aren't real, about things that never happened. But I'll make sure its travel worn and sea-stained, that it looks like someone held it to their chest like a talisman on a journey, or used it to hold onto hope on a battled field.
That would be my dream job.

God damn, I got to thinking tonight about two books I've been legitimately waiting to get published since the late 90's.
First was Strange Fate which is the last book of LJ Smith's Nightworld series. She's known for her Vampire Diaries series which got made into a couple of shows which I never watched because i never really cared for the books. But fuck me I've been waiting since 1998 for this book to be published.
TWENTY-FIVE YEARS I HAVE BEEN WAITING
And the other one, (the one that really cuts more deeply) is the Captal's Tower by Melanie Rawn. That's been since 1999.
And I'm looking online, hoping to find updates and the amount of bitching, wailing and generally entitled attitude of fans everywhere on say goodreads and Amazon is kinda...gross. Yes, I'm frustrated, yes I get frustrated every time they put out a book for a different series but you know what is NOT going to make them write faster?
Grown-ass adults throwing tantrums and generally acting like children decrying the author for being 'cruel' and depriving them of THEIR conclusion of the series. Uhhhh ya'll do know it's their book right?
I mean I've been through the entire cycle when it comes to these books and I'm sure when I was younger I prolly had similar opinions but I didn't post them online and now I look at this behavior and I just shake my head.
NGL a salty part of me that knows LJ Smith has been employing ghostwriters for years just wishes she'd give it over to a ghostwriter so we could get some conclusion. But eh it is what it is.
As for Melanie Rawn? I've kinda accepted that this series will never be completed and it hurts because it had such a huge impact on me growing up. It's very much fantasy Star Wars inspired in a lot of ways. LOL Which is prolly why I liked them as much as I did.
But you're not gonna see me throwing a hissy fit online and generally being a self-entitled twat about it.
I also get a little ironic schadenfreude every time someone complains about how long it takes GRRM to write his GoT book.

Book Review: Business or Pleasure by Rachel Lynn Solomon
Tumblr media
Cute, cute, cute! Celebrity-who-falls-in-love-with-a-normie romances are always entertaining, but this one had added elements of humor, sex positivity, and good communication.
Chandler and Finn have a lovely connection, at least once you get over the awkwardness of their first intimate encounter, which moonlights as a one night stand gone wrong. So, SO wrong. ☠️ He's an actor who's famous for being on a popular teen werewolf show, The Nocturnals, over a decade ago. (It's sort of a cross between Teen Wolf and The Vampire Diaries.) She's hired to ghostwrite his memoir. Moreover, after he learns how disastrously unsatisfying their night was together, he asks her to give him pointers and they help each other grow inside and outside of the bedroom.
I liked the Comic Con backdrop, with Chandler and Finn traveling from city to city to attend cons. It provided an element of forced proximity while also grounding readers in Finn's profession as well as adding changeability to the plot. I also thought the story relayed an important message about communicating wants and desires in a relationship.
Though the pacing could be stilted at times, and I sometimes felt disconnected from the characters, this was enjoyable overall. I had a good time.
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for the ARC in exchange for my review.
3/5 stars

how did you get into the ghostwriting industry? thats such a cool job!
I used to have a really big, super long post on this but because it is tumblr, everything is broken and I can't find it. I'll give you a sorta lowdown on how I did it/how other people got into it too.
A summary is that I got into ghost writing unconventionally via acquiring an agent who happened to work with ghostwriting firms while querying and then later moved on to do gigs on my own as well, but the most conventional way that people get into ghost writing is via a firm that works with publishers to produce books. The Vampire Diaries and the Warrior Cats and Clans books are really good examples of ghost written series that are publicly known and were technically created through ghosting firms.
Another option is Reedsy which I've actually done some work on, but you need to branch out and start working with people prior to that to build some credibility-- the most important thing a ghost writer needs to be able to do and prove they're capable of is actually finishing books, a lot of people build their own kindle catalogues to prove that they're capable of this as a result when they're working without a firm or an agent. Technically I've sorta proven I can finish books with my kindle catalogue, but my clients just sort of refer me to each other via word of mouth-- I work for a lot of firms and indie authors as well as contractually for two larger publishers' pulp lines.
I've been ghosting for about two years and able to make it a full time gig largely because I write romance, which is a genre that's always high in demand, and I have a relatively short turn around time (largely because I don't edit my own stuff but, eh). It's been a very stable and somewhat sizeable income for a creative writing major, but I also supplement it so I don't have to work as hard with royalties from my own publications, which is something I suggest everyone does. When you're making a living writing, never put all your eggs in one basket!
But yeah, it's a really nice job, I meet a lot of nice and interesting people, and I love talking about it!
