If only for the duality that it means for Jace: the heir to the Iron Throne being an omega. He is both a leader figure and a mother figure. And screw it Jacaerys of House Targaryen, the First of his name, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Protector Mother of the Realm, Shield of His People …like tell me it does not give cvnt.

Plus in the context of your own CFT universe, having Jace retaining his position as a leader and futur king yet leaning into his omegahood (unlike Aegon the Conqueror who will being an omega decided not to bear children which is not a bad thing at all btw), having children and all … it’s just so juicy.

i know i'm under anonymous for FMF+CTF but i actually don't typically write a/b/o (there's no hard feelings, i simply do other stuff), it's just that i happen to love omegaverse for asoiaf/hotd bc it makes the political intrigue all the more convoluted while also evening out some of the m/f gender dynamics and homophobia. the idea of princess rhaenyra's heir having to deal with being an omega on top of being widely regarded as a bastard is so *screams in gibberish* i could go into a whole spiel abt how it blurs gender roles and heteronormativity while complicating jace's position in westerosi society bc there's so many ways to take it and FMF/CTF is just one way. from what i understand, it also just goes so hand-in-hand with valyrian views on men and women vs. westerosi/andal/first men ones (at least bc rhaenys and visenya were able to exercise so much power despite being women and then all the targ women after them, barring dany, having only a fraction of the same autonomy). omegaverse has a way of complicating the traditional roles/expectations and in a medieval fantasy universe that's so steeped in that kind of limiting ideology, placing a/b/o dynamics into the setting throws a wrench into the system and allows for all kinds of exploration as to the effects. like don't get me wrong, the kinks are so much fun😏😂 but also everything else as well!!

that being said, i'm particularly partial to the idea of jace being an omega in an a/b/o universe bc of multiple reasons but to name a few it's

the fact that he can bear children, and the issues that follow from that, is another similarity btwn him and his mother (#jace as nyra's mini-me 5ever)

allows for ample exploration of how jace would handle 'motherhood' and what it would mean for him (while also getting the perks of being so, so spoiled and taken care of as he deserves)

solves the issue of aemond still gaining immediate proximity to the throne by becoming king consort (while exploring what being a father and patriarch looks like for him after his childhood/relationship to viserys)

also satisfies the fandom's agreed upon consensus that aemond has a breeding kink LMFAO (he's so comedic for me bc i truly believe he doesn't like children much but also would break the record for most kids if jace was amenable)

i guess. one of my genuine questions is (also bc i dont read or watch supppprr many things) can someone pls give some examples of western fantasy/sci-fi/nonrealism etc series which,,, are Both culturally diverse but aren't to be labled problamatic in one form or another?

like pls, i rly am curious. because generally novels and such while they tell a story in another universe or time, they are a critique and allegory for current things happening irl or that have happened irl. theyre inherently grounded in whats happening here

and yes, there is nonfiction/fantast/scifi/etc which is written from outside of the west or filmed from outside of the west and i think thats rly cool and i think those sort of media should be more widespread and commonly known and gain more attention and in the context of films and series and such given more of an opportunity to be adapted. this is the age old discussion around representation - its better to just get more diverse ppl in general to write things than have the same ppl write abt them more. fully agree

but im asking specifically largely in the context of western literature and media and such. when its fantasy, or scifi, or some combination of something, it is most often grounded in a)broadly focusing on things happening irl b)historical contexts (on the topic of dune, its set where and how it is bc the story is an allegory for and critisue of american and russian imperialism in a series of islamic countries). for a lot of them bc theyre made in the west, the most heavy infleunce is a western one - weather current western society or like western medieval histories. this shows in lore building, in costume design, in characters, in sets and designs and the world and a million other things

.but at the same time, people want representation. people want to see character and places which arent just that, right? people want to see a diversity of cultures and people?

... but then, many times whenever a place/culture/people are introduced which are clearly based on/infleunced by certain regions of the world or ppls (as the others are themselves clearly based on some western societies), people say this is inherently cultural appropriation. of designs, of language, of beliefs of this and that. even in the cases where i haven't seen ppl say its stereotyped or its harmful or orientalist or etc, its still cultural appropriation bc its showing things clearly infleunced by nonwestern cultures..... ... but then. im sorry this is what trips me up. if this is Inherently cultural appropriation and Inherently bad,,,, than,,, how do you have represention? how do you have a fantasy world which then isnt an entire globe or globes of western european cultures essentislly? because saying "well just invent wholly new things for everyone!!!" doesnt rly work. everything we create like that is inherently bound by a series of things no matter how hard we try to be "original" - and especially if youre trying to make it more grounded in reality that just.. doesnt work. these things inherently are using whichever western language as the set language, and a series of cultural and historical things to draw from...... so........ is it better to just,,, have a diverse cast but with no unique or other cultural infleunces at all, and just shove them all in a clearly western-based fantasy? but then ppl dont like that either... and if english and such and western infleunces can exist, why is it that it must inherently be bad or problamatic or stealing to adapt other cultures, places, regions, languages into that? to try to show and adapt at least to an extent the actual diversity of the world..?

since i keep tagging stuff as “this is what my comic is about” i feel like i should give Literally Any context

in between depressive episodes ive been working on a comic called Athanatas !! The initial premise is that i wanted to tell a set of stories that take place in roughly the same physical location but at vastly different points in time.

the first and currently most developed arc takes place in a medieval fantasy setting and these two fools are the protagonists:

i have a very rough skeleton of a plot for part 1 and ive started storyboards for the first chapter but I haven’t worked on it in a bit because im a busy bee. pls look forward to it though bc its gonna be soooo sick i swear

parts 2 and onward im hesitant to share details about bcuz they’re less set in stone, but part 2 takes place in a modern day(ish) semi-post-apocalyptic setting. earlier this year, i started drawing a prequel comic to part 2, which you can see a sneak peek of at https://athanatas.neocities.net !!! I don’t plan on finishing it until part 1 is finished because i realized how confusing it would be to read this first and then not have any of it be relevant to the story for what will most likely be several years BUUUT it was super fun and I’m still proud of what i did get done so check it out :3

I would like to know what possible interactions these characters might have with one another if they were to hypothetically meet. For example, how would the gassy characters respond to each other’s belches and/or flatulence? What would the non-gassy characters think about that? How would the human and fantasy characters act toward each other, or the modern and medieval characters? What miscellaneous aspects of their lives would the characters talk about, maybe regarding other people whom they know, such as family, friends, rivals, enemies, etc.?

Just any potential scenarios that you might be able to think about would be nice to read.

wow, this is a big ask. i will try my best to answer this, but if i miss something or you'd like me to expand on something, pls let me know!!

robin o'connery: in terms of meeting any of my gassy gals, she would just be ecstatic to meet anyone who could burp even a little bit like her. however, she'd be the most excited to meet thalia. not only do thalia's belches rival her own, but she'd be delighted to have found someone who "has it worse" than her (even though robin fully believes there's nothing wrong with herself). like, thalia can't even go two seconds without burping!! that's hilarious!! in terms of meeting my non-gassy characters, as long as they aren't mean or disgusted by her burps, she'll be friends with any of them (aka she'd hate lizzy, and she'd be irritated with conner for a bit).

arrach: like robin, arrach would be excited to meet thalia the most, but for a completely different reason. trolls and ogres are similar creatures that face similar discrimination in their respective societies, so he would find solace and comfort in someone who is comfortable being exactly who she is despite it all, and it would give him hope that he can do the same. also, if he were to ever meet lizzy, he would over accommodate her needs by holding in all his gas in front of her no matter how much it hurts, much to the irritation of robin.

runt: he's happy to meet everyone. no one can escape his friendship. no one.

addison bloomington: she'd be shocked that there are others that enjoy belching as much as she does, and she'd be even more shocked that there are others that can actually burp louder than her. she didn't realize that was possible!! but once she gets over her initial shock, she becomes quick friends with all of my gassy gals. as for the non-gassies, she loves women, so she'd get along with everyone but conner. it takes a little longer with lizzy and carmen, though, but she gets there eventually.

ruby daniels: you actually haven't met ruby yet, so i'll just have to save this answer for later...

sierra watson: she immediately challenges everyone to a burping contest, hoping to show off her skills, but is immediately humbled by just about everyone else. but that's okay, even though she's not used to losing, she can give respect when it's due. besides, she finds solace in knowing she can at least beat lily. she also gets along surprisingly well with runt. it may or may not have to do with the fact that runt helped her stink out her stepdad's bedroom once...

conner eve: he's so incredibly awkward and uncomfortable around everyone. the only person he can tolerate burping from is sierra, and that's mostly because the universe is forcing him to tolerate it. so being surrounded by all these other gassy people/gassy allies is a bit too much for him. because of this, he gets along really well with carmen. he gets along with meira a bit too, but not as much as carmen.

lizzy harris: she hates just about everyone. she's all about manners and being respectable in public, so any and all of my gassy gals just rub her the wrong way. she thought she could be friends with the other girls, but lily and meira weren't down to gossip about the gassy gals with her (obviously, because those are their partners) and carmen was just too awkward (and not in a cute way like conner) so they were a no go, too.

rick "ickyricky": pre flexsteel incident, his misogyny would make him hate just about everyone. post flexsteel incident, he'd probably be fine with everyone, but still be much too intimidated to actually pursue friendship with any of them. especially robin and thalia. gosh they scare the hell out of him.

ashley "flexsteel" fox: sheer and utter relief. there's other girls out there that burp like her. even better, they burp better than her. all she has to do now is introduce them to her parents, and maybe they'll finally give ashley a break. but seriously, she's happy to be surrounded by people that make her feel comfortable in her own skin.

lily alonto: she's super excited!! she's always been jealous of how well her partner can burp, but being surrounded by so many people with the talent she's been longing for giver her hope that she can one day join their ranks!! that's why she gets along especially well with sierra; she is more than eager to give lily some burping lessons.

meira yelren: she's kinda... neutral about this whole thing. like she'll roll her eyes fondly as she watches thalia talking with all the other gassy gals, but she won't actively try to talk to anyone. after all, the only gassy person she needs in her life is thalia. that's already more than enough for her. she does find conner amusing, though.

thalia orog: she's happy to talk to the other gassy gals, especially robin and arrach, but she's overall pretty casual about the whole thing. after all, meeting other people that can burp well doesn't do much to help her own situation, but it is nice to know she's not alone.

carmen lopez: she's so uncomfortable. she doesn't understand how these people can be so comfortable letting loose like this, and how they're doing it so powerfully. the more they burp, the more she wants to rip her own ears off. that's why she sticks close to zoe and conner; a familiar friend and someone who is just as uncomfortable as she is.

zoe papadopoulos: her number one priority is making sure that carmen is comfortable, but internally, she's super excited to be surrounded by all these gassy people. she only showed a sliver of this side of herself that night with carmen, but she was actually super gassy, so it was cool to see so many people just like her. even more than that, it was cool to see so many people that were unashamed to be like her. she just hoped that one day she could show this side of herself fully and completely to carmen. until then, though, she's fine just talking and listening to the people she desperately wants to be like.

Actually this is my tumblr so I decide the posts so i'm just gonna lore drop EVERYTHING of My oc before i implode.

I was actually very careful making her, I like my characters complicated, as a fan of dark fantasy (ASOIAF, The Witcher saga) i could not miss out the potential of including a world in its medieval state with a setting similar to The Witcher (non-humans are lesser, and elves are an alegory to native people)

Because of this, I decided that I would keep the funky hair and eye colors but will not accept white elves, they are native so they should look native, I made my elves mostly dark-skinned or asian, their language is a mix of gaelic and norse, including some of the old words, im still working on it, their culture is directly tied to nature, though it changes with each tribe, the shared thing between ALL ELVES, is their faith. As a historian, I also unfortunately have Arthurian Legend brainrot, because it comes included in my degree i used some elements with my OC.

Ardhine (A female version of Arthur I pulled out of my ass, I saw some use Arthurine, but its ugly, honestly) is young commoner, who is part of the Indigenous Jedi Protocol, a protocol designed by the council to allow indigenous jedi to mantain their culture and regularly engage with their communities; because of this, Ardhine visits her tribe every other week, staying with her grandfather, a lonely blacksmith. (Im still designing it, but I have it drafted)

Ardhine is gifted and troubled, unlike Anakin, she is not impulsive but she schemes. a lot. intrigue and plots are natural to her. She comes from a medieval world which has already colonized its indigenous people, and thus, the horrors we know are commited. Artie was born from assault commited by human soldiers, her mother was practically a little girl when it happened, constant attacks from nearby nomads who especialized in slave trade did not help the situation. When she was three, her mother was taken to Slaver's Bay, her grandmother and uncles killed, just her and the lonely old elf fled to another kingdom whose marshall wasnt useless.

Artie was found by Master Fay, another elf who alongside Darth Revan, is a relic of the times of elven freedom. At age ten, she was picked for padawanship by Master Mundi, a peaceful and patient man that took time to understand her and love her, he is basically her father.

Part of Artie's religious practices include a rite of passage, in which girls, boys, and children that are entering adolescence present themselves to the gods and are given a tattoo that represents the one the high priestess deems accurate, these tattoos normally represent the role they may have in the community (artisans, hunters), or a destiny too big to avoid.

Artie has the tattoo of the Mother goddess, a beautiful tree tattoo that covers her entire face, her forehead has the branches, her nose the trunk and her cheekbones are outlined with the roots. This tattoo signifies a great destiny as per tradition, she receives a dragon's egg (that hatches). Revan had the same tattoo, now here is where we get whacky, the elves also believe in reincarnation, they believe the Mother gives those who tried but failed another chance. Revan got their opportunity in Ardhine.

They are the same heart, same soul, Revan is grief stricken, all they want is finally doing it right, so they can see Admiral Onasi again (im a faithful carth onasi truther ‼️‼️ come at me). Revan believes killing the sith will get them to the Mother's embrace, and thus guides Ardhine to killing Palpatine and Dooku, as tradition goes, Ardhine must go through a process similar to Revan's, which to her horror (she STICKS to the code, she is annoying about it) means falling deep into the dark (it has always been there).

This part is my favorite, Ardhine, who believes so strongly in the rules and the code, breaks absolutely everything and, as the story progresses, becomes more machiavellic, building spy networks and designing deadly plots and assassinations, getting away with them everytime. Assuring the republic's safety, but sometimes, her plots are personal, she has killed those who wronged her birth family, the separatist general who was in Cerea, she has killed for the clones, for the jedi.

Artie has a romantic relationship with Ahsoka, which deteriorates as the Clone Wars progress. Ardhine and Anakin antagonize each other constantly, as Anakin thinks unfair how Ardhine gets away with her intrigues everytime and Artie thinks he is foolish and rash, both Ardhine and her master carefully plan their battles for minimal casualty, Skywalker does it in the fly (one of her lineage-brothers is tusken, Ardhine has little birds that tell her all. She knows). Ahsoka starts to think her own girlfriend a hypocrite (which she is, and thats exactly the point) and Artie thinks Ahsoka is easily manipulated.

Ardhine is a marine, she is ELITE, combining her own people's combat practices and the jedi's, she relies heavily in her connection to the force and she has a fucking dragon, Valyrax, a beautiful male with black scales, a pink belly and eyes, he likes when the clones give him belly rubs and lighting buildings on fire<3 he has a special zone in the Venator (The Revanchist, because, yknow) where he snoozes and rests. She has a handpicked (by Palpatine:///) team of young specialists sent by leaders of all worlds (we have a Kenobi, and a Organa! And also Cassian Andor and Thrawn!!! Its complicated!!!) HK-47 is also here, psychopathic as always.

see, it starts as found family because lapis and lazuli have each other — literally two halves of the same whole, what with their names being connected and whatnot — and then it turns into, like, childhood friends to lovers? maybe? probably not?? who knows! but this found family will definitely be growing, and yes, i'll try to add gem names for each of them! (of course it'll take some remixing since most blue gems don't have such flattering names, but we'll make it work!)

but!! since you asked about the world... okay buckle in for a sec, cause i'm crazy and this is gonna get infodump-y..

the world is very much a fantasy world, yeah? the city that they're in — that all my characters seem to start out in, actually — is called zahaire, the capital city of the avrigian empire. rigel and saipha are actually the royals of this empire, with rigel being the heir to the throne (although it's currently in council whether or not to pass the title onto saipha). i guess in terms of imagery, i use things like this for reference:

you pickin' up what i'm putting down? zahaire is a little more like the first image, with sapphire, the tavern, being similar to the second image somewhere in zahaire. (definitely not the upscale part of the city though, that's for sure.)

as for draconian caves, i maintain that precious gemstones like... well, lapis lazuli, come from these caves. these caves are made when a dragon dies; it's body hollows out and on the walls grow multitudes of these precious models gems that are filled with this rich elemental power.

and speaking of gems with elemental power; if lazuli's completely blind and the one visible eye is just an actual lapis lazuli, then they'll have water-based abilities!

i can't draw, so i really don't have any images for what lazuli could look like.. but i know they have dark skin, their left eye is blue, their right eye is covered by an eyepatch and there's a large scar running underneath it. they have a mean-looking face — they often look like they're scowling or glaring at people, but really, that's just their face.

if i had to explain their eye being a gemstone, i'd say that in a desperate attempt to keep lazuli alive after the accident, lapis dragged them to a cave on the outskirts of the city and begged with the spirits to save their friend, to which they responded by giving them an "eye" — the gem — imbued with spiritual and elemental energy strong enough for them to use the elements and stay alive. couldn't give them sight, though. they were born blind to begin with.

💞helloo :)) i’ve recently been looking for a somewhat longterm partner who’s relatively similar to me in terms of age, writing styles, limits, and the ability to obsess over our characters. i, myself, am an 18+ girly (she/her) who prefers writing oc x oc with me writing as my own girl (since she’s new i’m too excited to play her against others) though i would be willing to write as one of my boys too if the plotting is good / characters mesh well. **i’d describe my writing style to be around adv lit though it is flexible in the sense that i can adjust it to match your style and length - just pls don’t reply with sentences, i beg🛐

in terms of the smut and plot ratio i don’t necessarily have one in mind just that i’d like there to be a fleshed out plot that we can follow in the background to keep things a little more interesting and to avoid repeating ourselves.

- failing character x successful character where the successful character comes ‘home’ to the failing character and there’s an attempt to rekindle things.

- any type of elf character plotline.

- mentor / tutor to my clumsy girl.

- the chosen one x the chooser of the chosen one with the chooser possibly starting to resent the chosen one in the end.

Searching for a partner for a Medieval RP.

21 NB (he/they), looking for 18+ literate writers interested in a Medieval Fantasy rp, mxm OCs (my OC Lucien).

I have two plots that I’m interested in exploring: 1. The King allowed his son (Lucien) to be abused by his painting instructor growing up, all this rage builds up and explodes when Lucien tries to convict his instructor, but the King instead pardons the boy’s abuser during a set of public trials outside the castle. Lucien, a teenager and young Prince at the time, kills his father in front of everyone, unintentionally becoming King himself from then on. Despite exiling his abuser after the bloody trial, the then Prince, now King is seen as cruel and scary, not to be crossed even nearly ten years later. Meanwhile, a citizen with a sick sister is caught stealing medicine. Being on trial with King Lucien is scary enough, but medicine thieves in particular are known to be punished heavily, since the Princess, who is one of the only people thats kind to the prince-now-king, makes a majority of the medicine available. During a public trial, the thieve’s mother pleads for his life and Lucien realizes that the thief is someone he knew, that he had recognized those fearful eyes from somewhere else. He was amongst the crowd when he killed his own father. He spares the thief, and allows the best doctors to treat his ill sister. As long as he works directly for him in the castle until his debt is repaid. 

2. It is tradition for the royal family to keep their children within the gates of the castle and away from the public eye until they are grown enough to handle it. The Princess was introduced to society at the age of 13, but every year the reveal of their younger and troubled son (Lucien) his delayed for various vague reasons. Everyone is both eager and suspicious, which doesn’t help matters. This is when the royal parents essentially give up when the boy turns 21, allowing him out with no announcement to the public. While practically frolicking through the flowery fields, enjoying the feeling of the grass and the new sights, he has a love-at-first-sight moment with another boy (your character). This is just an ordinary boy from a hard working family, and since the Prince was never revealed, he has no idea the boy he’s immediately smitten with is the Prince everyone is eagerly awaiting to meet. That is until he finds out, obviously.
