6. Your best experience going to the movies

Most of my best movie theater experiences are when I'm in either a small or nearly empty theater, since less people coughing and chewing means less sensory overload

However, my all-time favorite experience was actually when me and my cousins saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens on opening night. I had taken some pretty strong hits of pot before we got to the theater, and that literal high paired nicely with the overwhelming optimism and joy of the rest of the theatergoers that night (even the 3D didn't give me any headaches and was actually pretty damn cool! I still haven't rewatched TFA since that night because the film I saw in that state simply couldn't be topped

7. A guilty pleasure

The Super Mario Bros Movie from 1993. The only reason I feel "guilty" for loving this film isn't the quality of the art itself, but moreso for the fact that for some bizarre reason most Nintendo fans call this a bad film, even though it's clearly a masterpiece.

(Honestly I'm not joking in that I love this film easily one of my all-time favs I can watch it any day of the week)

14. VHS, DVD, or Blu-Ray?

I still have yet to own a blu-ray player lol

But for vhs and dvd there are a lot of subtleties to both that I love. The vhs is my preferred way of experiencing vintage television programs and horror films; largely because the fuzziness of the tape tends to bring out a nostalgic feeling for old tv shows/commercials while for older horror films often blurs the scenery and effects of the movie which makes it feel uncanny and scarier for me. On the other hand, I prefer dvds when watching theatrical films. Not just for the high quality, but also for the special features on the discs!

I hate how when I come out to other people as aromantic I'm so often met with a version of "don't you think you'll find the one?" and them telling me that I should be open minded and not rule out dating completely.

Like, why do they feel like they need to tell me that? Those words just revive all my doubts that I shouldn't call myself aro and that I'm not "valid" as aromantic. Do they not understand that it took a lot of courage to tell them this personal thing about myself and that them immediately questioning what I've said won't make me feel better?!

It took me over a year of soul-searching to gain the confidence to use this word to describe myself and my experiences, and their first reaction to me letting them in on this knowledge is that I have to be wrong and that it's not okay for me to call myself that.

I literally would have been fine if they just said, "okay, cool."

I hate that aromanticism is still seen as something so negative that people's first reaction to a coming out as aromantic is to console the person coming out (by invalidating them).

Like, yeahh Jack can be versatile (after all, he has produced OOTW, LWYMMD, Illicit Affairs, and Gold Rush, and these songs are quite different from each other sonically), but I don't think him and Taylor are really pushing each other anymore. After all, a good chunk of TTPD could've gone on Midnights (Fortnight, TTPD, ICDIWABH, MBOBHF, Down Bad) and Midnights itself sounds like a mix of 1989's and Rep's productions. And idk when his work with another artist (Sabrina's Please 3x) sounds like it could've gone on one of Taylor's latest releases (Midnights or the 1989 TV vault), it's a little concerning...

5. What's a piece of lore you haven't shown in your fic or don't think you'll be able to add in?

I head canon that Elain saw a lot of visions of Vassa after turning fae and feels a kinship to her suffering as a bird of flame, because she has witnessed a lot of it. And Elain was also suffering from her depression and loneliness and trauma at the same time, so it's very likely on some level she understood that pain.

Jurian was also "re-made" by the Cauldron. In some level, he is kinda sorta made? And Elain will also feel a kinship of some twisted kind to Jurian as well.

Then you have Elain with her mate, Lucien.

When she finally joins the Band of Exiles....they will realize they are actually all connected to Elain more than anything else.

And then the Band of Exiles will finally be complete.

1. flavio briatore (known jenson button tormentor) being sooo pissed that he couldn't get the double diffuser banned that he told the media that 1. he can't understand why (or i guess how) jenson was leading the championship. and 2. that jenson was a paracarro (acc to jenson's translation: a concrete bollard). flavio is such a cartoon villian it'd be soooo funny to have him included in some way

2. jb, jessica (then girlfriend), prince albert and princess charlene going clubbing after the monaco gp and prince albert apparently busting it down not so sensitive style on the dance floor

3. a grinning kid giving jb the finger after qualifying in brazil (most likely not caught on camera which is a great tragedy) (in general i just want as much as possible abt the rubens/jenson firction - there was minimal but i want DRAMA - and the brazilian gp)

4. while i know this is not The Jenson Button Show to the general public, it is to me and therefore i'd be greatly, GREATLY, disappointed if jenson's dad isn't in it in some capacity. jenson's dad is a very very fundamental part of who jb is. jenson hugging his dad for as long as he could after winning the wdc not for his sake but to conceal his dad's tears from the cameras (knowing that his dad wouldn't want it broadcasted) says a lot abt jenson and it's one of my fave jenson tidbits of all time

5. obviously seb has to be in it. red bull was the main competitor and i want to see his stupid buzz cut. i want to see the pics from the australian gp where it looks like him and jenson just announced their engagement.. and speaking of.. i'd like to remember it was that year the entire "are you proposing?" presser took place (but again, my memory sucks!)

Yazan is a big actions guy so if something is bothering her he’d want to take care of it and fix it immediately also kiki loves cuddles and cuddles she shall receive fjskakdjdk will literally do anything to make it better,, holding her, talking about it, dancing it out, ordering her favorite takeout (yazan talking about it is a mix him being sincere and dissing the shit out of the person/situation and I kinda love it djdjskdjdk) leaving kiki’s part for you because I wanna know 😌💗

17. Their ways of expressing their love.

We talked about yazan putting up the shelves that kiara got that have been sitting around since forever and that pretty much what it’s about 😂 he just does things for her, or does things so she doesn’t have to. Pre relationship or pre living together yazan would just go around her house and fix anything that needed fixing fjdksidjdk,, also a big part of why he doesn’t mind doing the chores. To put it shortly acts of service and quality time!

I know why you’re asking this 😂💀 karima is…. Unfortunately still not the best at it at least in a serious vulnerable context and she bottles up a lot BUT she would sit down with him and be like “can I tell you something homie to homie 😔” and even then she tries to to keep it from getting too deep even when it comes to expressing love she’s not one to get Too sentimental but will let him know she cares about him. But this is mostly when they’re still in the beginning of their relationship (honestly it might take her 2+ years of being like that 💀) but I will say the first time she lets herself cry in front of him…………..

PLEASE 😭 valen’s is that he used to keep a pet rat as a kid, everybody refused to acknowledge it because it wasn’t actually a pet it was some rat he found lurking in their gardens and deemed it his bestie and would check up on it every day fssksjdjdj and when the rat died gideon was the one that buried and held a funeral for it 😔

Gideon’s most prominent memory has to be valen punching his dad in a room full of people loll bc not only was it incredibly humiliating and an act of love towards his bestie but it was also the first time anyone really stood up to this bully of a man and he just got wrecked by a teenager fjskaksjdj it was great seeing him hunched over w a bleeding nose until he made a comment about the company his son keeps and then it was both boys vs the guards trying to tear them off him fjdksksjskdn

15. Does their view of themselves differ from their partner’s view?

Sort of lol,, gideon struggles so much with his self image and thinks he’s broken and has nothing to offer or that letting ppl get to know him is essentially a burden on him and them so he just doesn’t make friends or meaningful relationships easily and valen over here just Fails to fathom it because to him gideon’s the most solid friend he’s ever had and literally nothing like all those things he says about himself and so he always makes it a point to let him know all the things he appreciates about him

Valen on the other hand thinks he’s the most interesting and amazing person anyone has the pleasure of knowing and that he’s worth it and because he’s set that expectation for himself any criticism from others or negative emotions from himself is shoved aside in favor of the facade and while gideon agrees he’s amazing and lowkey idolizes him lol he’s the only one actually capable of giving him a reality check that he’ll listen to and seeing him as just valen

My favorite daemon karima moment is him kicking the ball in her face when they first met DJDKSKDJDJFN and also ceramics class

Character: Very nosy and curious. Yet has a vibe that's hard to dislike.

Character: He wanders about while training himself. A monk with strict discipline.

Special skills: Summons the healing fairies with a strong proper fist. You have to see it.

Balbaroy

Dances like a butterfly, stings like a hornet

Character: Has a deep sense of honor. Fought to protect the priest in Shade who took care of him.

Special skills: A valuable member who can fly. Can't anything be done about his kinda low strength...?

Amon

Do you understand how to use the birdmen couple?

Character: A gentle wife who cares dearly for her husband. You want to answer her pleas no matter what.

Special Skills: Another flying member along her husband. You can leave the battlefield scouting to them.

Kokichi

Flying is his life

Character: He has persisted for fifty years on experiments with flying machines. That says all you have to know about his personality.

Special skills: Kokichi is the only human in all of Rune to have flown. It's an amazing feat.

Bleu

Is this a legendary Sacred Dragon?

Character: He's a crybaby, but his care for his friends might be beyond that of humans. Likes Karin.

Special skills: Bleu is still only a child. He's just starting to develop his powers as a sacred dragon.

Zylo

The only option when it comes to forest battles

Character: While a beastman, he is the king of Bustoke. A noble and kind ruler.

Special skills: A forest spirit. In a forest, no one can match his power.

Adam

Robot given a duty

Character: Loyal servant to the protagonist. He was created for this role. A long. long time ago.

Special skills: His whole body is weaponized. By getting experience, he may be able to unlock its abilities.

Musashi

A strong warrior visiting from an eastern country

Character: The embodiment of the samurai code. He cannot ignore evil, no matter how small.

👀 have you read my three ramking fics? 👀

.....okay I have to speak my truth 🫣 I haven't done any recs, and to be honest... that is because I have unfortunately not read very many ramking fics that I can wholeheartedly say I recommend 😬

(huge disclaimer that this is all just my personal opinion - I'm not saying anything is objectively bad or trying to tell people what they should or shouldn't write and enjoy - these are just my own subjective reasons for not having anything to recommend)

maybe I am just incredibly picky when it comes to fanfic (okay I definitely am) but the biggest thing I need to enjoy a fic is characterisation... if it doesn't feel like I'm actually reading about the characters I fell in love with, then what's the point? and yeah... a lot of ramking fic decides that once Ram and King are together, Ram is able to easily express his emotions verbally and just talk completely freely no problem. and obviously that's fine, everyone interprets characters in different ways - but I personally find it super frustrating and just kind of like

the other big thing is that a lot (and I mean a lot) of ramking fic leans very heavily into a kind of seme/uke husband/wife top/bottom dynamic that just isn't there for them in the show, and that imo completely mischaracterises both Ram and King (but especially Ram), and totally misses everything that is interesting and unique and compelling about their relationship to me. so many fics characterise Ram as this Big Strong Buff Intimidating Masculine Dom Top Protector and King as this Small Slender Gentle Feminine Submissive Bottom and it's just... not for me lol.

(also in the show Ram is the same height as King and not actually significantly broader than him, which. you would not know from reading fanfiction!)

so. yeah I am yet to find a ramking fic that is both well-written and commits neither of those sins, unfortunately... sorry, I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for! 🫣

uhhh i'm really bad at tagging my fics so technically john sheppard and rodney mckay are my most used tags? 😂 i do have a misunderstanding tag and a miscommunication tag and that's the closest i am to repeating a tag so that i guess?
