Warframe is why I'll never play a traditional MMO. You're telling me they need an upfront price AND a subscription AND paid DLC AND micro transactions to fund a game with 30 year old graphics and glorified QTEs for gameplay, when Warframe is out here being one of the most engaging and innovative shooters out there with JUST an earnable paid currency? Gtfo.
I'm sorry but there is no way you can justify the monetization of ANY major MMO.
Low key pretty sure FF14's is illegal. Most at least give you limited access without a subscription, but ff makes you pay to get in the door AND charges you rent.

Peter really put his entire Franzussy into his role as the Koskelas and Ilmari and so much of his content and lines can be skipped or missed or is inaudible/drowned by other elements (other NPCs, FX audio) 😔
Like
Ilmo and Steven's conversation after talking to them (if you do) and Ilmo offering Coffee World VIP tickets and Steven politely refusing 😂
The Huotari evil well laughter 😈 vs the Huotari well sobbing 😭
Missing all commercials
Missing out on Yötön Yö
Ilmo's realization of Jaakko being dead (overruled by the gameplay and Scratch's threats)
Missing the option to talk to Ilmo post-jail sequence and thus not finding out that the Cult = actually good and MISSING ILMO's DEVASTATINGLY HEARTBROKEN "my brother"
Not knowing during Deerfest u can hang around and hear Ilmo say some very questionable lines in a very strange voice (though this is easy to miss becos the level is designed for Alan to GTFO of there)

the thing is i'm not like, inherently opposed to the concept of recruiting minthara in an overall good/not down with mass murder playthrough - though i do think she should at the very least be incompatible with halsin - but the way larian actually implemented it is unbelievably lazy and seems like a rushed low-effort response to appease fans more than anything. there's absolutely no indication it's a possibility to a blind first time player, it relies on the underbaked and inconsistent non-lethal mechanic (remember, if you try to knock out ulder during gortash's coronation he Dies No Matter What), and from an in-universe perspective it makes no god damn sense. she's the most actively militant of the goblin camp leaders. it makes no sense to leave her alive specifically while killing everyone else, she's not even the only tadpole-brainwash victim there! it makes even less sense to leave her alive specifically if you try to only kill ragzlin and gut and whoever else is necessary to gtfo, because you do not have any reason to believe she won't just wake up and rally the troops to try massacre some druids again.
and like, there was already a simple easy-to-install mod for months that did the exact same thing, and a hilariously complicated vanilla method, and a bog standard vanilla method that does lose out on the tieflings but doesn't require mass murder, for people who wanted the option. the actual developers of the game could not provide a way for a Good Character to recruit minthara that was more integrated into the gameplay and the story than a pre-existing mod. and if the excuse is that they didn't have the time for the new scenes and animations and voice acting that would necessitate, then they should've just waited to add her good recruitment until a point when her good recruitment was fucking finished and ready to add into the game as a complete feature. but fans wanted it! so they got it immediately! and god knows if they'll add another update for it now!

HIII im making a home in ur ask box rn.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAV GAMES !!! if you can choose! Fav genre ? Have you played any? And if you watch playthroughs who do you typically turn to?
Sincerely from ur local game nerd mutual :3
HELLO! Yes make yourself at home! The fridge is always open, as well as the pantry, there are some pillows and blankets in the corner! My ask box is your home (prison)
Fav game? You ask? Unfortunately a bitch is broke but I like to play read the worst fanfic in public without getting caught or book reading fanfic (in which I choose a fanfic at random to read w/o looking at tags)
Real talk? My lame ass can't even work a controller, and my hand-eye coordination on a keyboard is worse than my ability to finish my half started fics 💀
I do however watch playthroughs and gameplays :) obviously the mw2 game, also halo, and destiny are games I've watched playthroughs (can you tell I have a thing for "faceless" people?), and I'm now planning on watching some GOW playthroughs because of YOU (accusing) and your brainrot has infected me
I watch a lot of Markiplier and some Jacksepticeye, my favorite series is the GTFO, raft, lethal company, and happy wheels, and I've been meaning to go watch mark's fnaf series but I keep getting distracted lmao
I also watch RanbooLive on occasion, they play fun games, Jazzpunk was a funky game
I've also been watching a lot of dnd games from Dimension 20 and Critical Role
Also I just remembered I lied about games I play, there's a boredom clicker game I play... I don't even know why, like my sister made me download it one day and now it's just... here...

Hi-Fi Rush Review
I knew nothing about this game prior to its release, other than two things - people said it was similar to Jet Set Radio Future, and it was coming to Game Pass.
I've never played JSRF (but I've always wanted to) and I have Game Pass, so I downloaded and booted it up.
I was hooked from the start.
Hi-Fi Rush is an action-rythym game, with platforming, puzzle, and collect-a-thon elements set on the futuristic island owned by the Vandalay Corporation - a robotics company, currently giving out replacement limbs as part of their 'Project Armstrong'. Our protagonist, Chai, signs up for a replacement arm, but a mishap with his legally-distinct-from-an-iPod MP3 player ending up where his heart should be makes him perceive the world to the beat of his rock music. It also makes him Vandalay's Number One Target, as they label him a defect to be destroyed.
This all happens in the opening cutscene.
The game is gorgeous, going for an animation style similar to Spider-Verse, with the visuals being incredibly comic-like. The anime inspiration is also clear, with all the panicked and OTT movements of Chai as he scraps his way out of trouble. Along the way, you run into a host of other characters, such as a robot cat named 808, a badass hacker called Peppermint, a gentle giant called Macaron, and a therapist robot named CNMN (Cinnamon). And they aren't just supporting characters in the narrative sense, they also help you out in gameplay too (well, not CNMN, but what can ya do). Peppermint can crack through energy barriers with her laser pistols, Macaron can bust through walls and knock heavy objects into place, and 808 serves as an understated beat-counter, their lights pulsing along to the beat of the song that's playing.
808 isn't the only musical gameplay indicator, though. The entire world moves with the soundtrack, not just to the beat, but adding flair to the current track, like platforms rapidly shifting, and certain puzzles following their own beat. Even the combat has rythym to it; security lasers with unique timings, having to attack, dodge, and jump on-beat to do more damage and build your score multiplier, and parriable mini-boss moves that let you get a 1-hit KO. Chai's weapon of choice is a guitar made from scrap, and every hit, combo, and parry comes with a musical element.
The story is a fairly standard fare - Chai wants to GTFO, but he can't until he helps Peppermint take down Vandalay. Full disclosure, I haven't finished the game yet (I'm about halfway done), but what I have played I have adored. The game is packed to the brim with charm too. Chai is a quippy slacker, way in over his head, but loving every minute of his adventure. Peppermint is hot-headed, but bounces off of Chai well, and puts him in his place. The 6 bosses of Vandalay are all wonderful too, from the aggressive Southern wrestler-type Rekka, to the obviously JJBA-inspired Zanzo. Like many games nowadays, Hi-Fi's characters like to make meta-jokes, and while I am tired of that as a concept, in Hi-Fi it's sparing enough that I don't hate it (unlike a certain OTHER Game Pass game that also starts with an 'H').
And the soundtrack, oh MAN the soundtrack. It goes hard. There isn't much more I can say! It features both original and licensed music, but the originals are so freakin good I can barely tell the difference. Obviously if you aren't that into rock music, you won't like it, but that's a matter of preference.
With regards to what I DON'T like, I found the part that teaches you about parrying to be way too obstructive. Like, the otherwise fast-paced game screeches to a halt to teach you about this new mechanic, rather than all the other tutorial segments, which are over really quickly. I also find it hard to stay on-beat, even with the optional big on-screen indicator. This may be a problem with my controller, but more often than not I would hit the buttons in time with the beat, but only like 2 out of a 4 hit combo would be on time, which massively brings down your score, which sucks. Also, some of the combos just...don't work? Like I don't know if I really am doing them wrong, but I do the input, and no special move happens. That sucks too. Also I would have preferred to be given the choice to play as Peppermint over Chai but that's just me being nit-picky, let's be honest.
Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed this game so far. I would definitely recommend trying it out if you have Game Pass, and I'd say it's worth the £30 price tag IF you like the music used. Even then, the gameplay is fun enough that you could mute the music and play to the beat on-screen if you just want a fun hack-and-slash adventure. The game is available on Steam, Windows, and Xbox Series X|S.
Hi-Fi Rush - 9/10
Pros:
- Great soundtrack
- Fun and addictive gameplay
- Wonderful characters and humour
Cons:
- Timings can be a bit wack
- The parry tutorial suuuuuucks

I'm to lazy to get on my game and take screenshots or look for a gameplay with these dialogues, so

Tumblr media
Not a march, they say. Detroit Become Human Cops.
To play this game u gotta understand the law enforcement is officially against the android rebellion and civil rights movement in general, that's one of the reasons Hank just doesn't care bout the police by the end anymore and mf just gtfo.
In HPR Allen just confirms the orders are "arresting" androids or gunning 'em down if they resist. The DPD, the feds and the national guard are working on the same shit. I think Allen got a similar opinion to those cops or he really doesn't care what to call everything that's happening, he just wanna do his job even if he's impressed by Connor.
In a world where the androids won it would fall into the same issue we got nowadays, unfortunately androids would become "a minority" to get abused by cops - cuz that's one of the metaphors David Jaula uses in his shitty ass writing, it's explicit in the game.
So, no...i know u know what i'm criticizing.
I ain't talking about pov justifications or if the cops are wrong or right in "wanting to protect the city from defective androids that were tools taking care of kids few days ago and now are walking on the streets as if they're people", i'm talking about % of specific events happening. Be aware public opinion is a false alarm. U don't get support from everybody, u just shocked the whole world and they gonna act in a defensive way - public opinion supportive means some groups ain't hating u anymore and are actually supportive in androids having civil rights, what i bet doesn't make even half of the population - what should be something for a country where hating androids is almost a rule in a way u dehumanize 'em for 'em looking "too human" so u don't feel guilty at all. People questioning things to the android side is already a bad signal for a corrupt gov controlled by a megacorp like that, people questioning about it is enough to force the fucking president to do something. But will it be enough? I DOUBT IT.
Politics is also a dangerous game, we've been seeing propaganda war at least 3yrs in 2 major conflicts that still happening till today.
Internet posts won't do shit and i dare saying this is where android support in dbh falls, cuz we don't see any human marching with the androids, making protests in favor of androids. Not even the mfs that were protesting wanting jobs and android ban (cuz they were taking jobs).
But we see the opposite.

Thinks briefly about April, one of Akira's oldest, and probably the first of his pack to disperse. She was part of his first litter alongside her sisters Mars and May, and I imagine she's the one who's most alike Akira in terms of personality, for better or worse. Their relationship was a complicated one, April looked up to her father but she also kinda hated that he was so much stronger than she'd probably ever be. The older she got the more she itched to stand on her own and surpass him somehow, and they bickered a lot due to being very stubborn and prideful in exactly the same way. Autumn thought it was hilarious, but also a clear catalyst for an interpersonal disaster and fallout, so he was probably the one who gently suggested that maybe April go chase her independence back at Amethyst Mountain. Which she did. Akira was not happy about it when it happened but April was not there to have to deal with it, yay! The one she misses most after leaving is her sister, May, the runt of their litter. May was always struggling to keep up, being weak and frail to a fault, and April worried constantly that she'd feel like dead weight because of it despite being assured otherwise. She'd urge May to accompany her on hunts, which'd often go south because they were both inexperienced, and April would endanger herself for the sake of keeping her sister safe, and in turn Akira would usually have to come in to save them both. If you guessed April hated that, you are correct! But one of the harsher lessons April's had to learn while roaming Amethyst Mountain is just how much she relied on her family back in Slough Creek, and how dangerous it is to be alone. Initially she planned to never pair up with a mate because she didn't want a pack or pups, but after getting trashed around by elk and remembering how much easier it was with a hunting partner — she reconsidered. It's how she ended up meeting and begrudgingly pairing up with Maple, a laid back himbo wolf who thinks her attitude is cute. She kinda hates him, but she also kinda likes him, it's a conflicting situation, but he hunts good and isn't afraid to join her in chasing bears off their carcasses, so she deems she's better off with him than without him. The both of them have yet to journey to Slough Creek, because April really isn't fond of the idea of raising pups of her own after having been stuck with so many siblings, nor the risk of running into her old pack back there. She's content to just prance around the mountain and terrorize the local wolves when they get in her way, whilst slowly getting it bonked into her head that being reckless can be a death sentence, and that a damaged ego isn't worth dying over. Some fun gameplay facts: April died like three times while I was trying to get a damn bear away from my carcass, I contextualize this as her having gotten her shit kicked in until her life flashed before her eyes and mustering her final strength to gtfo of there. She also broke her leg during a hunt once, which led to a long painful week of being too slow to hunt properly, as the hunger slowly set in deeper and deeper. It was not a pleasant experience, neither for her nor Maple. Maple doesn't wanna get too up in April's business despite being her mate, but he does worry over how hard she seems to push herself. He never really says anything though, their communication need some work.
(The designs are pending, her coat is practically all black though so that's handy. I like the idea of her being a bit pointy in the design department, ehehe, while Maple is just Fluff)

John: Dispatch these pests.
Tumblr media
That is IT. EVERYBODY OUT. You are DEAD SERIOUS.
Author commentary: John telling all the sad imps to GTFO is probably one of the better gags in this act. Is it just a gag though? No! Nothing is ever just an anything, obviously. John ordering the imps to get out understatedly helps signal that the characters aren't really in the business of monster-killing anymore. By this point in the story, imps and other types of underlings are so trivial to the heroes that they might as well be regarded as bothersome house guests. It's a reminder that the game is no longer the game we once thought it was. There's too much intrigue to keep track of now to bother caring about the mundane, low-level gameplay hurdles native to Sburb.

Actually “living” something
There might be nothing of value here but just me being emotional this monday evening. And with this, here I go, wordvommiting. I ramble for a second and then I’ll go grocery shopping.
I watched Steven Zapatas’ video this morning and then went through the comments (didn’t scroll much but they were pretty interesting to read). I don’t have anything to contribute but what describes my POV in this matter was CosmicSpectrum’s comment, and I want to expand on it with my own experience here (continuing from my twitter thread).
I’ve had a conversation with my friend about “you should play this game, you’d love it”. God I know i would. I’ve made lists of books, games, series, comics, anime I should watch, read, listen, breathe and I’d love. Or not. But those lists are everywhere, twitter bookmarks, myanimelist, in my notes, in my notebooks, post it notes, post-it-notes on my mac that are waiting to be categorised; artist recommendations, instagram profiles, music albums, all the stuff I should at some point be aware of.
I know I would. But it wasn’t a coincidence I spent 150+hrs of gameplay in DeathStranding before even finishing the main story.
Now wait, what does this anything have to do with AI art? On the matter that it’s sucking us dry to make stuff, nothing. On the new constant stream of content that both sucks us dry to produce things faster, it does. It’s all about making content, making more money (no, artists won’t be making more money, people who already have money will), getting things done faster. I am not as eloquent or knowledgable/ updated to add more than what I know to this subject, but the point I am trying to make by poorly writing this to get it off my chest is, nothing can replace our time making/ interacting with what we love.
Our time is our highest-in-value currency. I don’t play game after game, read book after book, finish drawing after drawing to reach a quota (in my defence I’ve tried it in my teens and it was cool but I don’t remember 3/4 of the anime/ games i’ve watched/played and i was depressed). I am appalled by this constant stream of content, I’ve always been and I always make circles around it because everyone moves on so fast and we can’t talk about what’s not hot if we want to be relevant before society or the algorithm punishes us for it. (Society because people move on to the next big thing and who remains to brainrot with, or sometimes even being judged for not being up-to-date with what’s hot right now, the algorithm because it’s the algorithm and if it’s not mainstream, you’re not making them companies any $$).
I want to boil in things I love. I play one game a year if I am lucky, I am living with it, it’s part of me. I’ve read and re-read one piece of fiction and I can’t stop loving it every time. My library is so tiny, it’s wonderful. Things I can carry with me every year to the next one, others remain in the past but they stayed long enough to be remembered (or not). Replaying. Remembering. Moving on or staying with what I love, I make this choice for myself and it’s such a relief, finally.
I wish I could encourage someone to do the same, if that’s up to how they’d like to live. Draw the things they love, write about them, talk about them without the fear of being irrelevant. The lifespan of media (art, music, series, comics, movies you name it) has drastically shortened online and it’s very visible and sad. Our attention to things breaks easier, chasing what’s new instead of truly learning about something interesting. But we are human, and I hope we realise that sooner. We cannot *live* anything faster. That’s just getting distracted, the same lie with “multitasking” (grind culture GTFO).
Value your time. We’ve been fed that end-results matter, but that’s because we choose to ignore and devalue the process.
But it wasn’t a coincidence I spent 150+hrs of gameplay in DeathStranding before even finishing the main story.
So there are things I just won’t get to be aware of on a personal lvl (living them/ playing them/ reading them) and that’s fine. Those *opens hands and points at all the things I have to show you* are the things I know and make me happy. The things I remember and think of fondly. They are not necessarily what make me as a person, but they surely are things I love and made part of my life in whichever way I chose or happened to be.
--
Anyway, get informed at your own pace about AI art, get their asses and don’t let corporations do as they please. And do read/ listen/ watch/ play what you love, for you first and foremost. Fuck “consume”, fuck “content”.  Live it. For you.

gameplay wise im still unsure about ow2. I kinda felt overwhelmed by the amount of shit happening on my screen. Probably cause I’m not used to it.
I’ve only played 3 rounds of zen so far (he’s my main) and he does definitely feel better. The health regen + gtfo kick is good (not biased at all). Good for him.
Tomorrow I will try more characters. My 2 mains were sigma and zen and I don’t think they changed very much lol. But I thought playing tank back then was stressful and it seems even more stressful now being the only tank?? We’ll see.
Shop wise: are you fucking kidding me $19 for a skin that used to be “free” aka buy the game for $20 on sale and just unlock the skin
I hate that “micro” transactions are now literally the price of an indie or multiplayer game
Horrid. Awful. Bad. I never had to spend a single cent, besides the game itself and the zen league skin, to get what I wanted in ow1. I cannot believe this type of shit is common now. What even started the $19 price norm. Was it apex? that’s the first game I remember having stupid prices besides like. Csgo knives.

Why do people project so much on characters? "He is just like me!" --No, Karen. You are just a weirdo teenager GTFO tumblr and twitter.
Oh god Anon... I think you took a wrong left and ended here on Tumblr xD
I admit if weren't for Tumblr's easy to manager site and good tagging system, photo and video easy upload and overall nice design, I'd not be running this blog. Not on TUMBLR, at least. You can say I'm here due to lack of options.
I LIKE Tumblr. But people here can be... Overwhelming. Yes, many can take those extra steps of NEEDING to project on the character, and you better not disagree!
It is chaotic, but I have found nice people here and I dare say that, at least from my end, the people I follow and that follow me are here just to see Screenshots of Leon, some gameplay edits, mechanic and sometimes even a movie scene upload.
