posting from 2009 here. but i don't think the sherlock holmes 09 fandom (my young self included) ever gave mary morstan enough credit for how fucking stressful courting john watson must have been. her first fiance literally died. she's already lost one love. of course she doesn't want her second chance at love to go galavanting around chasing armed criminals, with a selfish twat with no self-preservation instincts. it's bloody dangerous.

I can't accurately express my disappointment that they killed off Irene before the opening titles. Or at all. I loved her. I so mad. It's been years and I'm still so mad.

does anyone know any good scholarly criticism on the original ACD Sherlock Holmes stories in relation to his queerness and/or to Victorian gender roles? Here I am trying to keep living by a river in Egypt (the Nile) about the Bad Batch being over and the not that satisfying 3rd Season (not bad, just, could’ve been better) and I discovered a parallel scene.

This one is a scene from Tech on TCW S7Ep1 “The Bad Batch”. Where Tech is trying to open the door and Wrecker kicks it open. And it is most likely a reference from Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes

They’re almost identical! It cracked me up.

Anyway, I enjoy finding new things about the Batch even if it’s old news to others, even the little animation errors.
