Hard mode

Yo-Kai are much more hesitant at making friends and are more troublesome. Here’s how a certain few of our old friends friends change.

Nate: He’s tired all the time. Could care less about what Eddie and Bear think about him, has really, really messy hair. Cares a lot about his Yo-Kai friends, His parents, and Katie, but not much else.

Whisper:Admits when he doesn’t know Yo-Kai, Bought the Yo-Kai watch and Yo-Kai pad moments after being freed (And then returned to Nate). Has a generally Positive outlook on everything and everyone. Is more Patient with Jibanyan.

Jibanyan: More Determined to beat trucks. Has serious trust issues. Only befriends Nate after he saves him from A gang of roughraff attempting to attack him.

Hailey:Still the same geek as ever. Genuinely respects USApyon. Gets bullied for her interests.

USApyon: never goes Invader mode on Hailey. Helps Hailey because she reminds him of the Doctor.

Komasan: Smol boi. Paranoid as all hell. Addicted to Coffee. Still uses the bumpkin accent (he’s Tweek Tweak but Country)

Lord Enma: The Exact same. Struggles with the protests against human and yo-kai friendship.

Arachnus and Toadal Dude: Fighting over much bigger things. They do not show any mercy.

Hovernyan:Constantly trying to force Nathaniel to make the watch. Impatient.

Nathaniel: “Just leave me alone! I’m no hero!” Scared. Moximous Mask Superfan still.

Sgt Burly: A protester who believes Humans are not as bad as The Other Yo-Kai say they are, Leader of the Peacekeeper Blasters.

Katie: Worries about Nate. Is the only reason Nate ever even tries, stands up for Nate against Eddie And Bear, and can secretly see Yo-Kai but chooses not to say anything.

Eddie And Bear: More offensive, act like jerks for no reason, secretly think Nate is way cooler than them.

Tomnyan: Joins Nate immediately, much more trusting than any other Yo-Kai, lives with Nate, Jibanyan, and Whisper.

The final Bosses don’t change at all.

yaay, finally beat stage 13 hard mode. 100%ing The whole game took me about 6 hours, and I immensely enjoyed it.

I've had a lot of ideas floating around my head for a full version of Undertale's hard mode. I figured I should share them here. Undertale's hard mode would include overworld based damage like in deltarune. I'll probably post my ideas for the rest of the game here at a later date, but I think that just Snowdin is enough for right now. (BTW, if anyone wants to make this, feel free. Just credit me and share it with me. Seriously, I would love to see someone make this.)

Snowdin

Snow will be falling in Snowdin, slightly obscuring the player's vision, but not in any meaningful way. The snow impacts other things.

Sans: Sans's whoopee cushion is replaced with a joy buzzer. (No damage dealt)

Monsters:

1. Snowdrake is replaced with Chilldrake.

2. Ice Cap cap is replaced with Black Ice Cap. Functionally the same as Ice Cap, except his attacks are slightly transparent. This makes them harder to dodge. (For those of you who live in warmer areas, this is a reference to black ice. Ice that is so transparent that you don't know it's there until you slip on it.)

3. Jerry makes attacks 2 seconds longer, and makes each attack do 1 extra damage.

Snowman: The player is allowed one less snowman piece than usual.

Electricity maze: the walls of the maze will deal 2 damage upon contact. Papyrus's footsteps are filled in by the falling snow, so the player has no clear path to follow.

Word search: the player is forced to actually solve the word search. Controls work by using the directional controls to navigate the page. The interact button is used to select the first letter, and then the last letter. Once answered correctly, the word will be circled.

Tile puzzle: the machine seems to work correctly. It can't be truly random because that risks a softlock, but there can be a bunch of set patterns. The original puzzle solution still has a rare chance of occurring.

The gauntlet of deadly terror: Papyrus activates it by accident. It then turns into a challenge of walking across the bridge without getting hit. Each part will deal 3 damage upon contact. Except for the dog. If the dog lands on the player, it will disconnect from the rope and sit on the player's head. Papyrus will comment on how the dog never listens to his commands, but is thankful that the human is alive. The dog disappears when the player leaves the room, similar to the cup in waterfall. If the player goes back into the room, the dog is hanging from the rope again.

Snowdin town: The inn will not let you in for free or refund your money. The shop will have a limited stock of each item. The ice wolf will be running at double speed. Interacting with them will prompt the narrator to say, "Looks like this is hard mode for everyone."

Papyrus: Papyrus can kill you. Plain and simple. If he does, a frame of him looking surprised will appear for a split second. Just like when Toriel accidentally kills you.

update on rebirth hard mode: i hate that evil fish. terror of the deep?? who let it trap all 3 party members at once?? fuck that shit and shoutout to enemy skill plasma discharge on tifa, that shit saved my ass.

also i got to see one of my top 5 yuffie moments, where she waves and goes "thank you very much!" and barret mockingly goes, "you're welcome!" they're so dumb i love them. so found family core of them tbh.

If you play Tears Of The Kingdom on Yuzu and have completed the game I can't recommend the Challenge Mode mod on Gamebanana enough. It really is like Breath Of The Wild's Master Mode and then some. Just encountered a golden enemy for the first time. The golden Bokoblins have all new horns and are absolutely ridiculous

I got a few more questions if that's alright, regarding the hard-core au!

1. Is Yokai fusion still a thing or is it a taboo? (Whisper and Jibanyan's fusion, Thornyan, Baddinyan)

2. Does Hailey still have her detective agency with Whapir and Usapyon? Is Whapir any different?

3. Would Nate still interact and help out with the war between Arachnus and Toadal Dude?

1: fusion is the same as ever, however unlike where fusing Jibanyan still gets rid of Roughraff or Coughkoff, Getting Baddinyan and Thornyan doesn’t have any consequences at ALL. So yeah, Nate has the Medals For Baddinyan, Thornyan, Buchinyan, and Jibakoma just… There.

2:Detective Agency still Happens the same way, not much changes about it aside from Hailey actually keeping Usapyon as the Mascot

3:He kinda has to?

At the End of the war, however, instead of Unfairy JUST beating up people, He stalls enough time for Dame Dedtime to… “Make new recruits” out of the generals and their Lackeys.

When you fight Against Unpleasent, you then need to fight Shadow Venoct to free Venoct.

When you fight Untidy, you then need to fight Darkyubi to free Kyubi.

When you fight Unkaind, you then need to fight Toadal Demon to free Toadal Dude.

When you fight Unkeen, you then need to fight Arachnevil to free Arachnus.
