I know I just posted the last four of these but I wanted to make a post where people could see all of them at once, along with explaining the thought process behind some of my choices. I'm putting my rambles underneath a readmore but before that, I just want to say that anyone can use these designs (with credit of course) (and if you do please tag me or something just so I can see it)

First off, John! He's a bunny partially because of the buck teeth, and partially because of the Nic Cage reference. Why couldn't you put the bunny back in the box.

Rose is a cat because not only did she have a cat (Jaspers) but I also headcanon her as a therian. She gets to be a catgirl.

Dave is a bird because when I was in the process of deciding species, I mentioned the lack of birds and two of my friends immediately went "bird dave bird dave".

Jade is a dog, because of Becquerel, and her personality seems very dog-like. Plus I haven't gotten to that part but I think she canonically becomes part dog at some point. Whatever, she deserves a tail to wag.

Aradia and Tavros are... very simple. A ram and a bull, just like their zodiac signs imply.

Sollux is a snake, because his typing quirk involves changing his s's in some way. Plus it just felt right.

Kanaya is a bat, because she is a literal lesbian vampire furry. That's it.

Karkat is a cat, because his name has "kat" in it and I thought making him an angry little kitty would be extremely funny. I was right.

Nepeta is a cat because anything else would be utterly wrong. Look at her. Canonically two seconds away from being a catgirl. I also headcanon her as a therian.

Terezi is a dragon, because she already roleplays as one, although I didn't give her wings because I'm pretty sure those are a God Tier Thing. On a side note, I headcanon that she paints her nails, and here she paints her spikes. Candy red.

Vriska is a snake because she's a huge bitch. I love snakes in real life, but they seem to be a trope of traitors. Plus, as I noticed after deciding her species, John's item is an apple (representing the "original sin") and Vriska manipulates him throughout the comic. I love unintentional symbolism.

Equius is a horse. Like Nepeta, I really had no other choice. I also have no idea how to draw horses. My friends all wanted me to put him in a crop top but I'm not doing that. ...Maybe another time.

Gamzee is a goat, because my friends also suggested it, and because Capricorn is a goat-fish thing.

Eridan is a skunk, because I showed a picture of him to my friend who doesn't read homestuck and told them to assign him an animal. He stinky.

Feferi is an axolotl, again at the suggestion of my friends who did read homestuck. I think it fits her. :3

I'm a bit new to the homestuck fandom, so what is murderstuck?

Murderstuck refers to the event on the meteor in Act 5 (Act 2) where Vriska, Eridan, and Gamzee, had killed their friends. First one we see is Vriska murdering Tavros in [S] Wake because he was trying to stop her from trying to go after Jack. The second we see is Eridan killing Feferi, destroying the Matriorb, and Kanaya after he finishes his duel with Sollux in [S] Kanaya: Return to Core. Finally, we have Gamzee going crazy after learning the truth about his beliefs. He killed both Equius and Nepeta. It has been dubbed as Murderstuck because of how dark these parts were and characters were being killed off. Gamzee and Eridan are also considered the villains of the Homestuck series. Probably doesn't help that in before Tavros' death, we see Jack Noir/Bec Noir, killing everyone's Dream Selves before Vriska really took someone's life. People thought that these three would battle in the [S] 3x SHOWDOWN COMBO. Three atrocious murderers. Each have their own justification. Some better, some worse. Unfortunately, since Andrew Hussie hates fight scenes and more attention was given to [S] Cascade (which is understandable, Cascade is the peak of Homestuck), Kanaya had to be revived as a rainbow drinker (the troll equivalent to vampires, Twilight vampires specifically since they glow/sparkle just like them) and stop all three of them with ease. She only killed Eridan with Terezi killing Vriska and Gamzee only being pacified temporarily thanks to Karkat and asking Kanaya to spare his life. Karkat had thought of him to be his best friend and became moirails when he pacified him. But sadly, it's said by Karkat that they broke that relationship OFFSCREEN because Gamzee was not doing his part to be his moirail. Gamzee would continue on to do more horrible things because of Lil Cal's influence and fulfill his destiny to raise and serve Lord English. It is also an event that is suppose to happen, according to Skaia and Paradox, in order to continue with this timeline. So these trolls HAD to all this do not make it a doomed timeline. Which makes it all the more nihilistic that none of these three can be better people or more if it means their universe is doomed either way. Can't even say Post Retcon after Murderstuck is any better. The only one to truly died after it was Eridan. But Vriska gets to live and apparently solve everything that Kanaya, Dave, Rose, and Terezi couldn't do when they were the only ones around. Vriska is even the one to stop Gamzee by MIND CONTROLLING HIM. His free will gets taken again not from Lil Cal, but Vriska. He still lives and gets sealed in a fridge, not being able to speak to anyone ever again. His and Karkat's friendship never gets brought up after that. Most assume that Karkat forgets about Gamzee and the murders easily after being Dave's boytoy. Same with Terezi being fine that Vriska killed her friend Tavros and being lesbians with her. And that's not even bringing up what happens to Gamzee later on in Epilogues.

June: Transwoman - She/Her - I'm honestly stuck between making her a lesbian or making her bisexual, I'm so torn. The only dudes I really ship her with is maybe Dave? and even then, I'm not crazy about the ship. I don't really have someone I fix her with consistently! If she is bi, she has a preference towards women for sure

Rose: Cis woman - She/Her - Lesbian, I don't need to elaborate

Dave: Transmasc, but not necessarily a transman? IYKYK - He/him - Definitely bisexual, with a slight preference towards men

Round 3 for the worst ship poll seemed relatively normal to me, I think the one surprise is that as of now, Gamzee x Jane is beating put Vriska x Meenah, and I think it’s because of the epilogues.

I understand in canon the interaction between Jane and Gamzee was more superficial, he sold potions to her, threw corpses into her kerbelsprite and exploded it, and then fucked off to stalk the alpha kids from a distance.

In the epilogues, Jane marries Jake, meets Gamzee at Dirk’s funeral, her hatred of trolls gets her hooked into a caliginous relationship with Gamzee, lots of honking and milk involved behind closed doors.

I can at least think that GamJane cpuld work in a fanfiction that isn’t the epilogues, because they are at least within a reasonable age of each other. (However Gamzee is the first troll to make it to the alpha sessions because of shenanigans, so I think he’s still 13 while Jane is 16, weird)

In order for Meenah x Vriska to be normal, I would have to radically stretch canon so that the troll session lasts 6 years, or whatever the case where Vriska survives Sgrub, lives for 6 years at minimum, and then dies. In canon MeenVris is pedophilia, in canon GamJane wasn’t really a thing, but at least one of them wasn’t an adult. It has to be the epilogues that made GamJane even a ship people considered.

Or at least have even Gamzee be in a better state of mind or Jane being one to help him. Which would make the metaphor of his attraction to her like a drug (because of her name) turning out to be a healthy kind, breaking free from LE's influence and rekindling with his old friends like Karkat. It's sad though people had praised and loved MeenVris just for only pretty lesbians. Even if there was an age gap, the fact they are two beautiful girls trumps out pedophilia allegations. It says a lot about how much women get away with absolutely anything. Rape, abuse, pedophilia, murder, etc. Even those under trans-woman can get a pass. If not just pretty lesbians, they are the only two current relevant badass action girls in Homestuck. Kanaya does nothing but sit around with Rose. Terezi is only known for judgement, not action. Aradia doesn't want to involve herself in anything. Feferi is useless as Meenah replaced her. And people want to only make dead Nepeta jokes, not have her be an apex predator. And Dancestors speak for itself that only Aranea is relevant and everyone else besides her and Meenah are pointless as fuck.
