I'm trying to make this alternate cardverse game thing which is supposed to be an rpg but is probably just going to end up being a visual novel because I'm lazy like that but anyway instead of traditional cards I'm doing tarot suits and I'm doing any and all characters that are not in the original cardverse and either way just take it. Who could blame him? You were the most perfect person in the world (in his eyes at least).  ✩  Lyney who just starts hiding random presents for you everywhere. You found a miniature grin-malkin cat in your bag once which exploded into doves the moment you touched it. But the presents also included magnificent flowers, each hand-picked by the blonde magician himself (the flowers meanings were also carefully picked out as well, who did you think Lyney was? Some uncultured brute who didn't know how to impress someone?)  ✩  Lyney who uses 'magic' to remind you about that date offer. You'd find a slip of paper in your pockets saying "how about that date?" He once gave you a latte with poorly scribbled words on the foam (kind of like latte words? Is that even a thing?) saying "Will you go on a date with me?" He even went as far as to ring your doorbell to deliver a toilet paper roll with the words  "Roses are red violets are blue, consider going on a date with me, will you?" drawn on to every sheet of it. (He's trying okay) ✩ Lyney who nearly cries tears of joy when you finally agree to the date. "Really? No take backs okay? But don't worry I'll make sure you won't regret a single second of your decision." he simpers. ✩ Lyney who, true to his word, planned out the most romantic date you had ever been on. Showing you marvelous magic tricks he invented just for you, taking you to a lovely rolling meadow full of rainbow roses to go star gazing. With a flick of his wand, a picnic blanket was laid out and on top of it was the most mouth watering selection of food you had ever seen. From local dishes to foreign ones, this man had prepared it all. Just for you <3 ✩ Lyney who felt like the luckiest man in the world when you gave him a little peck on the lips, telling him you were looking forward to the next date. He heads home with a giddy expression on his face, practically illuminating half the nation with his aura. (I just know Lynette looked at him weird when he came home looking like that) ✩  Lyney who just loves you so much he would do anything for you. "I would do anything for you, if you want the moon I'll scoop it right out of the sky. All you need to do is ask." ✩ Lyney who has your wedding certificates already printed. What? It's not his fault that you're so lovable. Right? ✩ Lyney who whines how he wants your caskets to be buried next to each other (if possible he wants you two to be in the same casket) ✩ Lyney who would leave a flower with a card attached to it every day.  Each card containing a unique poem he composed himself, talking about his unwavering adoration for you. ✩ Lyney who's just a silly little goober that's down bad for you. 

✩ Lyney who waits for you while you're tying your shoes. Sometimes even tying them for you (much to your embarrassment) 

✩ Lyney who carries you bridal style, whether you're taller or shorter than him, it doesn't matter! 

✩ Lyney who intertwines pinkies with you in public, because he's worried you'll get lost. Like he isn't the one that goes wandering off. ✩ Lyney who rants about how perfect you are to his siblings. A string of never ending compliments run out of his mouth "They are like the sun, I wouldn't even have to look at them to notice their presence-" "Oh for the last time Lyney, It's 4 AM!" ✩ Lyney who like to relentlessly tease you whenever he gets the chance to. Putting a finger up to your lips as you lean in for a kiss. Smirking and cooing at your expression. ✩ Just Lyney who loves you to the moon and back <3

hi there! During some weeks i've really become a fan of your drarry posts(sometimes daily;))..they're so detailed and convince one in a way that they can't say "nah, you're delusional..drarry doesn't exist!(platonic or romantic)"..and tbh i agree with 98% of your opinions( 2% is in little details lol)

I have some things to say:

-in room of requirement scene harry asks draco whose wand is this in his hand and draco replied his mother's [i love how he answers with honesty here bc mostly he doesn't answer straightforward..it's obvious to me how much he changed and how exhausted he is:(] then harry laughed, admitting that situation is not funny at all(as far as i remember)...do u think why harry laughed?the only reason in my mind is he missed bickering with draco hahaaaa:)))

-in shrieking shack voldemort told lucius that perhaps draco's decided to befriend harry(i love voldy for this^^)...do you think he told it to terrify lucius or despite draco's fear, he actually saw any sign of draco being inclined to harry and his side and seeing that courage in him to change his side?

-In your last meta you told "I think he definitely doesn't want to admit that there's something in Draco that he's drawn to." This is also about harry describing draco's appearance..there are some ppl that are actually gorgeous( either according to other ppl or harry) like tom riddle, cedric, cho ginny etc & there are some that look ugly(harry makes it quite clear lolll)..and some average face which harry does not bother to describe much more...as far as we're told draco is some sort of average(ofc you can think of him as handsome like i think but he's not that type of handsome that everyone agrees on like cedric..that's what i think)but harry tells good things about his appearance in a very weird way...it looks like he knows he looks good but he doesn't want to confess that directly...

And for the record I never mind if people disagree with me (as long as it's polite; and if it's not, it's the rudeness I mind not the disagreement). Discussion and respect for different opinions is what fandom is all about.

I think you raise some really fascinating points here!

1) In the Room of Requirement scene I think Harry's bitter laughter also kind of parallels Draco laughing humorlessly when they run into each other in book 6 when Harry's on his way to the Quidditch match. I think partly Harry's also just relieving tension and laughing at the absurdity of the whole situation and how they always come back to each other. And yeah I also love how Draco responds honestly to Harry.

Also very notable that when Harry asks why the three of them aren't with Voldemort, Crabbe and not Draco is the one who says that they're going to be rewarded and that they hung back to capture Harry. Draco, who has no problem answering Harry's previous question (about his wand) or his next question (about how they got into the Room) is notably silent here. (I wrote more about his motivations in this scene here btw).

2) This is such an amazing point about the shrieking shack scene that I never thought about. But wow. You're right. Great catch! This bit is actually so interesting. So Voldemort says:

"If your son is dead, Lucius, it is not my fault. He did not come and join me, like the rest of the Slytherins. Perhaps he has decided to befriend Harry Potter?"

This is such a strange and specific thing to say. Sure it could be him just messing with Lucius. But he could've done that in so many other ways. He could've just threatened to kill Draco. Or questioned his loyalty more generally. Voldemort doesn't even say something like "perhaps he has deserted me and fled" or speculate that Draco has betrayed him and joined the flighting against him. He suggests that Draco has "befriended" Harry specifically.

Also in this scene Voldemort is thinking about other things and not really paying attention to Lucius or particularly trying to torment him. Lucius is the one who brings up Draco and this is Voldemort's response to the topic.

We know Voldemort can read minds. Despite Draco's best efforts (which given that he's alive despite saving Harry in the Manor, must have been pretty good) to shield his thoughts something must have leaked through, something that gave Voldemort pause. When Lucius says that Draco would never befriend Harry, Voldemort just gives him a noncommittal response and says: "You must hope not." Which sounds to me like he isn't buying it. And indeed, where does it turn out that Draco is (clearly without orders or permission from Voldemort)? With Harry. And I've already discussed in my other meta why I don't think he was planning on killing Harry or handing him over, despite what Crabbe and Goyle thought.

Voldemort's comments are especially interesting given that right after the Room of Requirement scene Draco is attacked by another Death Eater who also seems to think he's not on their side, despite the fact that Draco's name is well known and he has a Dark Mark. So...what happened to make him think Draco wasn't on their side?

3) Yeah I absolutely think Harry thinks Draco is good looking but tries to ignore it. I think they are both exactly each other's type.

Having your own identity. He wants it to be 2 different ppl that come together to meet in the middle. 2 different puzzle pieces fitted together.

Bcs we all know im a whore for op characters and I really didn’t wanna go basic and just be mals sister or smth I decided to put wanda aka scarlet witch into this universe (basically after the whole no more mutants thing she was banned into the universe by dr strange and professor x or smth yk idk and she tried to get back and that caused some trouble so she was put on the isle of the lost) haha my dad is hades btw but I don’t know it, my mum doesn’t know him either it was more of a ons gone wrong situation

Nowww some stuff about me, my name is scarlet pietra maximoff (yes after Pietro) and im 16 in the first movie. I basically have my mums powers but cant use them on the isle obviously soo idk that I have them until i get to auradon. Also wanda is more like her comic version but since idk the comic events bcs I haven’t read them there are probably inaccuracies lmao. I speak sokovian and exclusively sokovian with my mum and its my first language but English with everyone else. I have red hair in the first movie (but like scarlet red not ginger) and then in the 2nd at the start I have dark auburn / brown hair and in the third I have like dark red hair with like black roots? Idk how to describe it. In the first and 2nd movie I have like red eyes (not in a creepy way) and in the 3rd I get blue eyes, ill say why later.  My main color is red yk scarlet witch and shit and idk what else to say haha but feel free to ask questions

My s/o is ben aka beasty boy (fr I started calling him that before I found out uma calls him that soo yeah I thought I was onto smth only to find out im not the first one who came up with that) and hes the same basically except he also speaks French (I love french speaking men and beauty and the beast takes part in France originally so sue me) idk the timeline is pretty much the same as in the movies except the whole breakup thing at the start of the 2nd movie doesn’t happen

Plot of movie 1: I go with all the other vks (its just 4 but ok) to auradon but except like 1 month to the coronation like in the movies it’s for the whole school year (idk when the coronation was but id say like June or smth) soo from august on. Since my mum is kinda yk abandoning me and being a shit parent bcs shes still grieving and some shit I basically was always around the other 4. Then once there everything kinda plays out like it does in the original movie except for my powers embarrassing me around ben haha idk I think its funny to have my powers go cray cray when im around him (also we dream of each other before we meet bcs *soulmates* but like without seeing faces and stuff). Then mal comes up with the whole love spell thing but it’s a bit different, it only works if the person casting the spell loves the person theyre casting it on (idk I needed an excuse for why mal would let me cast the spell) soo yeah I do the spell and then I basically take mals place for a bit. The whole parent day thing comes up (in the zoom thing they do with the villains my mum doesn’t show up tho) and audreys grandma still grabs mal and stuff and my powers kinda work subconsciously and yk pull them apart and make chad fall into the sleep thing so then everyone hates us (especially me) again and I feel terrible. Coronation day, same thing, love spell gets dissolved bla bla bla. Jane takes the wand, I take the wand from jane, maleficent comes and I give the wand to mal and mal gives it to the fairy godmother, maleficent freezes everyone. Now it strays from the movie basically mal fails to turn maleficent into a lizard like in the movies and she gets also like frozen then I come in and save the day and then fall into like a small coma bcs my powers feed on my life force / energy yk and that was too much. But then I wake up again.

Movie 2: beginning is the same except I replace mal as yk future queen but mal still feels overwhelmed and misunderstood and runs away after the picnic scene (its me and her in the scene, I replace ben in that one). Basically i find out and tell evie and she tells ben and they convince me to stay put while they go get mal bcs yk the coronation thing was scary and im not the most popular over there atm. Ben gets captured, the boys get me to make the wand bcs printing it takes too long, we go back to the isle and we save ben. I use my powers but not that much yk just I know my boundaries. Fast forward to cotillion, uma still spells ben, she turns into a sea monster and I start idk fighting her but since I used so much of my powers the day before already to make the wand and in the fight so yk im nearing the edge of too much. Mal turns into a dragon, ben jumps into the water, does a less y/n pick me version of his speech, uma goes, mal turns back but doesn’t have the big purple dress moment, just a small purple dress moment (like not the big ass gown but more of a cocktail party dress) bcs theres no way shell steal my moment haha

Movie 3: same thing the whole time basically except that when Audrey shows up and spells ben, I go after him immediately and the boys find me while they search for ben in the woods. Mal still gets hades ember (and finds out im her sister during it) and also still promises uma that she’ll free the villains but since shes not the future queen in my dr she doesn’t have jurisdiction to push that through and when I tell that to mal and uma and that I cant just do that uma gets angry and leaves like in the movie. Also since imo the whole ‘we’re not evil anymore and all are happy to go to auradon’ plot doesn’t happen in my dr bcs its stupid haha. In the end I fight with Audrey and get my wandavision scarlet witch transformation moment and yk basically shes agatha and im wanda (she not only took maleficents wand and the crown in my dr but also the darkhold which is still like a dark magic book but without the corruption part, its kinda like the ring from lotr, it corrupts everyone except the owner yk so I don’t get corrupted if I use it but Audrey does) and I absorb hades ember during that thing (Audrey is holding it) which gives me *drum roll* blue eyes. In the end the exchange program will be continued but yk not the barrier lifted bcs the villains are still villains and wanna get revenge (I believe in character development but that whole plot was just stupid af on Disney part sorry not sorry).

Chapter 2: Struggle

The next day, Una Montague and Cormac McLaggen sat side-by-side in Transfiguration silently answering the essay questions that Professor McGonagall had written on the chalkboard. Which was a pity, thought Una, because at least practical lessons would have meant the rest of the class were distracted. Not that she was particularly interested in hearing anything Cormac McLaggen had to say but rather, she wanted him to continue whatever it was they had started at Slughorn’s dinner party.

When the bell rang, the classroom erupted in chatter but Una just shut her textbook and touched up her lipgloss. She was determined not to make the first move. She’d be damned if Cormac thought she was more interested in him than he was in her.

She didn’t have to wait long.

“So, what now?” asked Cormac.

Una pursed her lips thoughtfully in the mirror. She wasn’t sure exactly how they could meet up. The trouble with having best friends like Sabine and Meridith was that they were always around. And Cormac being in another house just made sneaking around even more difficult.

“Do you know somewhere we could go?” asked Una, putting her things into her book bag.

He grinned. A wide, stupid grin that showed off his perfect teeth and made dimples appear at the corners of his mouth.

“I actually meant what lesson do you have next?” Cormac laughed, seeing the horror-stricken expression on Una’s face.

“Arithmancy,” said Una quickly. “I mean free period. No wait, Arithmancy. Eugh!”

Mortified, she grabbed her bag and turned as fast as she could to leave. She felt a large hand grab her upper arm before she could walk any further.

“Wait, Una. I’m just - “

“Don’t touch me,” she hissed through gritted teeth, shrugging him off quickly before the other students could see. 

And before Cormac had the chance to say anything else, Una marched quickly out of the classroom and into the throng of students in the corridor, her cheeks burning. She felt humiliated. But what was more concerning was the fact that she couldn’t shrug off the feeling that she sort of - maybe - liked it. 

Una shook her head, feeling flustered as she made her way to the shortcut to Arithmancy. She was being ridiculous. Of course, she didn’t like Cormac humiliating her. She bit her lip, stamping that feeling down as hard as she could.

She was confused (which didn’t happen often when it came to boys). Normally they were simple creatures, easy for her to understand - even manipulate when she needed to. She had thought he was attracted to her when he touched her under the table at Slughorn’s dinner party. But now she supposed that he just liked purposefully trying to embarrass her. Especially when he didn’t kiss her in the corridor, choosing instead to squeeze her face and smear lipgloss on her chin.

That egotistical, arrogant piece of work. There was no way she was going to let Cormac McLaggen make a fool of her.

Una pulled back an old tapestry, revealing the hidden shortcut to find a crouched figure in the dark passageway, sobbing. Her heart sank sadly. She’d recognise those hunched shoulders anywhere.

“...Graham? Lumos.” Her wand illuminated the dark passageway and her brother looked up, wiping his tear-streaked face that looked almost ghostly pale in the wandlight.

Graham Montague breathed shaky, shallow breaths as Una approached him carefully. 

“The passageway... Stupid,” he said, shaking his head. 

“It’s not stupid,” said Una gently as she sank down on the wall opposite him.

Her brother had almost died last year. Someone - he couldn’t remember who - had shoved him into a broken vanishing cabinet on the castle’s first floor. All Una was able to find out was that they were a member of Harry Potter’s stupid club - Dumbledore’s Army. Una had flipped between plotting her revenge against the D.A. and being so worried she felt sick when he went missing for almost a month until he was finally discovered in a bathroom by his friend Draco Malfoy. 

It spread around the school like it was hilarious. “Did you hear Montague was found in the U-bend?”. But to Una, it was no joke. 

He was stuck in the magical void between a pair of vanishing cabinets for weeks, almost starving to death until by some incredible miracle he had managed to apparate - without so much as ever having taken an apparition lesson before - within the boundaries of Hogwarts. When Professor Snape rescued him, even he couldn’t understand how it was possible. 

Afterwards, Una spent every spare moment in the hospital wing visiting him, helping him drink a vivid blue potion from Madam Pomfrey. Their parents, of course, had tried to take him to St. Mungo’s but Graham was insistent on sitting his exams so stayed at Hogwarts. 

After the entire ordeal, all Graham had to show for it was three O.W.L.s and a crippling fear of tight, dark spaces. And all Una had was a bitter taste in her mouth that she and the rest of the Inquisitorial Squad had never found out who did it. 

“I just need a minute. Til the corridor clears,” said Graham, resting his head against the wall.

“I’ll wait,” said Una.

“Aren’t you going to your next lesson?”

“I’ll be late,” said Una with a small shrug. “Where are you friends?”

“I ditched them. Draco wouldn’t stop pestering me about the vanishing cabinet so I ducked in here and then…” he trailed off but Una pursed her lips.

“Why does he care so much about the cabinet?”

Graham hesitated. 

“Graham - tell me.”

“He says he’s got a job to do. From the Dark Lord.”

Una gave him a serious look. “Graham…”

“He saved my life, Unes.”

“You don’t owe him anything. Don’t get tied up in whatever he’s up to.”

Graham sighed. “I already told him everything I knew last year. Not that I can remember much… I don’t really want to.”

Una and Graham sat quietly for a long time as the footsteps in the corridor outside became less and less frequent until they couldn’t hear any more.

“We should go - I’m good, I’m good,” he stressed when Una opened her mouth to argue. “I need out of here.” 

“If you’re sure.”

Una got to her feet and opened the tapestry leading to the next corridor and extinguished her wand when light flooded the passageway. She held it open as Graham climbed out. 

He took a deep breath in the fresh air of the corridor. Una looked up at him. It was hard to believe her little brother, this big, burly Quidditch Captain could have ever been trapped in a cabinet, never mind turn to a crumbling mess when faced with a dark passageway.

She gave him a quick squeeze around his shoulders.

“Una,” he groaned. “Get off me.”

“Alright, alright.” She resisted the urge to hold on tight and never let go. “I just worry about you.”

“I’m fine.”

“Just no more shortcuts, alright?”

“I won’t.” 

He gave her a stiff nod and they departed in opposite directions. She just hoped Professor Vector wouldn’t dock too many points from Slytherin for her lateness.

Cormac and Eddie sat in the library a few evenings later comparing Ancient Runes notes.

“Nah mate, you’ve translated that one wrong. It’s Umma, not Una,”

“I didn’t write that, did I?,” said Cormac, pulling his parchment back towards him and looking at those three little letters. Una. “No, yeah, you’re right. Dunno how I managed that one.”

“Still thinking about Slughorn’s party then?” Eddie grinned at him.

“What do you mean by that?” bristled Cormac.

“Steady on,” said Eddie, taken aback by his defensive tone. “Just meant that you were sat next to her, didn’t I?”

“Oh, right. Yeah.”

“Is there something going on there, then?”

“Nah. Nah, definitely not.”

“You’re a shitty liar.”

Cormac hesitated. Eddie Carmichael was a Ravenclaw and Ravenclaws didn’t have the same anti-Slytherin sentiment that his other friends in Gryffindor did. He trusted Eddie more than he trusted the Gryffindors to be objective. Plus he was Head Boy. If any of his friends knew anything about the Head Girl, it would be him.

“I mean, she’s fit, right?” asked Cormac, scoring his quill back and forth over the word Una, determinedly ridding it from his parchment.

Eddie let out a long exhale. “Psht, yeah. The three of them are. But she’s genuinely fucking awful.”

He wasn’t expecting that. 

“You don’t think it’s just Sabine?”

“Nah,” said Eddie darkly. “Sabine gets the bad rap because she’s the loudest. Always in detention, that kind of thing. But I think that’s what makes Una more dangerous.”

“Dangerous? Bit dramatic, Ed.”

“Forgetting about Umbridge’s Inquisitorial Squad last year, are you?”

This shut Cormac up. He did forget that Una was one of Umbridge’s flying monkeys last year. He and Eddie, along with the rest of the D.A. had ended up in detention for weeks after the Inquisitorial Squad had apprehended them.

“And this year, Christ, I barely open my mouth when we’re doing the Prefect meetings. She loves bossing them about, dictating the corridor patrols. I mean, I’m not complaining - less work for me, innit? But still. I think she knows how to latch herself on to people with a bit of power and now she has a bit of her own, well, it’s the only time I’ve seen her smile.”

Cormac looked up from his parchment, brows knitted together. He’d seen Una laugh and smile in Transfiguration. And as for latching herself onto people in power…

“I’m not sure she’s like that. She didn’t even want to go to Slughorn’s thing.”

Eddie shrugs. “She probably just wants Slughorn to think she’s too important to be there. Make him more interested.”

Make him more interested. By pretending she wasn’t. Maybe Eddie was on to something.

“How did she even end up as Head Girl anyway? I mean, before this year, the only time I saw her in class was when she was getting told off for whispering with the Vipers.”

“That’s the thing. I think she likes being under-estimated. Have you ever seen her raise a hand in lessons? Or even study in the library? Then she shows up in sixth year with nine outstanding O.W.L.s. Just coasted it.”

“Sounds like someone else I know,” grinned Cormac.

Eddie raises his arms in exasperation. “Where are we now? And you can check your own bloody Ancient Runes homework then.”

Eddie tossed his book at his head but Cormac reacted quickly and caught it.

“Alright, alright! Just winding you up,” laughed Cormac.

“Shh!” came an irate voice from the librarian’s desk. Cormac turned around in his seat to see Madam Pince glowering at them furiously.

Cormac hastily resumed his homework but Eddie kept his eyes up, looking behind Cormac’s shoulder.

“So much for never coming to the library,” he murmured. “Keep edgy.”

Cormac looked again discreetly. Sure enough, as if summoned by their discussion, the Vipers had slithered their way into the library.

“It stinks of old books in here,” pouted Meredith when Sabine had chosen their table. 

“Well someone didn’t want us to sit in the common room tonight,” said Sabine sharply.

“I told you I’d explain,” whispered Una, sitting down and looking around to see if anyone was within earshot. With a jolt, she saw Cormac McLaggen and Eddie Carmichael several desks away.

“Well? Go on then,” demanded Sabine loudly, causing the two boys to look over.

“Sab,” Una hushed, glaring at Eddie and Cormac until they averted their gaze. “There are more important things than our usual seats... Like what exactly has Blaise told you about Draco Malfoy?”

“Malfoy? Nothing, why?”

“It’s for good reason. First of all, his dad’s in Azkaban for being a Death Eater -”

“We know that already,” huffs Meredith. 

“Let me finish. I’m just saying his family is dangerous. And apparently, he’s been bragging about being given a job to do at Hogwarts by The Dark Lord.”

“When did you hear that?”

Una didn’t answer. She trusted Sabine and Meredith but she wanted to protect her brother more.

“What kind of job?” Sabine looked sceptically interested. “What’s a sixteen-year-old going to do for him?”

“That’s the bit I’ve not worked out yet. But what I know for sure is that Malfoy is unreliable, inexperienced and he’ll probably need help. He doesn’t come to Prefect meetings anymore - Carmichael’s useless so I’ve got my work cut out for me trying to organise cover for Malfoy’s corridor patrols. So whatever it is he’s doing, I don’t think he’s doing it very well.”

“What’s that got to do with us?”

“I just think,” said Una quietly. “I think we need to keep an eye on the people we care about spending any time near him. I’m convinced he’s roped more people into helping him with this job.”

“Your brothers?” asked Meredith looking cautiously between Una and Sabine.

“As if either of them would help him with that,” scoffed Sabine.

“They need to be careful,” Una pressed on.

“If I find out he’s getting mixed up in this pure-blood supremacy nonsense I’m going to kill him.”

Una, Sabine and Meredith looked at each other seriously. Una extended her pinky across the table and Sabine and Meredith linked it.

“If we can’t keep Graham and Blaise away from this - we do what we do best.”

“Come hell or high water,” starts Sabine.

“Through thick and thin,” adds Meredith.

“For snakes don’t drown,” says Una.

“They know to swim,” they finish together.

This was their ritual. What had started off as a silly little chant they’d made up in first year was now a solemn promise. Of course, these days they’d ditched the accompanying dance routine borne from jumping on the dormitory beds as eleven-year-olds but the words remained. An oath to protect one another whatever the cost. 

If one of them stuck their pinky out, the others knew it was deadly serious. No more questions, no more bickering. Just mutual, unwavering trust.

Cormac and Eddie exchanged baffled looks.

“See! Look, they’re doing Dark Magic,” whispered Eddie.

“Maybe they’re in a thruple,” suggested Cormac, watching the Vipers unhook their fingers and cease their hushed murmuring.

“Nah, mate. I told you. Dangerous.”

Cormac wasn’t so sure. Maybe he was wearing Slytherin-tinted spectacles but that didn’t look like Dark Magic to him.

They returned their attention to their homework again but when a pair of heeled shoes clicked past their table Cormac lifted his eyes up slowly. Una had wandered off towards the bookshelves at the back of the library. Alone. This was it.

Cormac waited a few moments and pushed his chair back.

“Mate, don’t…” said Eddie warningly.

Cormac grinned. “I’m doing it.”

Eddie dragged his hand down his face as Cormac vacated his seat. “Oh, you great big bloody idiot.” Cormac clapped his shoulder and meandered in the direction Una went.

Una, stood on her tiptoes trying to reach a book on a high shelf. Where was a ladder when you needed one? She looked left and right, groaning when she saw Cormac McLaggen striding towards her.

“You can conjure birds but can’t do a simple summoning charm?” he asked, grabbing the book she was brushing with her fingertips. He was so tall he could do it with annoying ease.

She eyed him suspiciously as he held it out to her, expecting him to pull it out of her reach again like he did with her mirror.

“I left my wand at the table.” She took the book tentatively. “Excuse me,” she said, refusing to look at him as she made to leave.

He stuck his arm out against the bookcase to stop her. She scoffed and tried to go around him the other way but he rested his forearm on the shelf, boxing her in. He was close. Much too close. His aftershave overpowered her senses, the smell of artemesia and sandalwood unexpectedly filled up her lungs.

Una looked up, bringing herself to meet his eyes and sticking out her chin defiantly. “Get out of my way.”

“Or else what?”

“I’ll scream.”

Cormac turned his head, looking along the aisle to make sure the coast was clear. He turned his attention back to Una.

“You wouldn’t.”

Oh, wouldn’t I? Thought Una. 

She opened her mouth and inhaled a large breath, but he clapped a hand over her mouth, roughly pushing her backwards into the shelf. He pressed his body against hers and she felt her knees tremble as her wide eyes met his smirking ones. His green eyes glittered while he watched her struggle.

“Shh, shh, shh,” he murmured. Una felt heat surging in her abdomen, feeling his body trapping hers so closely. Una let go of her book but it remained pressed between their bodies. She grabbed his wrist with both hands, trying to wrench it from her mouth but it wouldn’t budge. Cormac pushed into her harder still as she attempted and failed to fight him off. 

“Are you going to behave?” he whispered, watching her trying and failing to pry his grip away.

With a prickle of realisation, she felt his hard cock pressing againt her throbbing pussy. It made her falter slightly. So this was turning him on as much as it was affecting her? Una relinquished his wrist and tried to nod but was so constricted by his hand it was barely a jerk of the head.

“Good.”

He removed his hand and she gasped for breath, feeling her chest rising and falling against his, the book the only thing separating them.

“So, when do you want to hook up?” he asked.

Una scoffed, mustering all the derision she could. “I don’t want to hook up with you.”

“That’s not what you said in Transfiguration.”

With a flare of annoyance at being reminded of her earlier mistake, she glared at him. “You’re crushing me, dickhead,” she said, pushing his chest to no avail. He put his hands up, yielding, and took a step back. The book between them fell to the floor with a ringing echo in the quiet library.

Una crossed her arms and looked from him to the book on the floor expectantly.

Cormac stared silently for a few moments. He brushed his tongue against the inside of his cheek, surveying her but still Una waited. He tutted and crouched down to pick up her book. When he stood back up she snatched the book from his hands.

“So?” he asked.

“I’ve changed my mind, Cormac. I don’t want anything to do with you.”

This was a lie. But she hated him thinking he had any control over her just because he was bigger and stronger. Especially after her earlier slip-up. She was the one calling the shots. Not him.

“Come on, I know you want me.”

She shook her head slowly from side to side.

“Una… Una,” he soothed, taking a step towards her again. The way he said her name was oddly melodic. It made the hair stand up on her arms as she clutched her book to her chest.

“I already told you, I wouldn’t be caught dead with you.”

“Nobody needs to know,” he murmured, looking down at her. Una’s heart raced. His face was so close she could feel his breath on her lips.

He cupped her face, his thumb brushing her cheekbone as she looked up at him with parted lips. She felt butterflies in her stomach as he leaned in closer still.

The way he was holding her reminded her of their encounter after Slughorn’s party. Was he going to kiss her? Or do something worse again? And which would she prefer? 

“Do you think about fucking me, Cormac?” she whispered, her lips almost brushing his.

“Yeah,” he breathed, his eyelashes dipping to look at her lips. “All the fucking time.”

Gotcha. Excitement rose in her chest as the scales tipped in her balance again. “Show me. Right here,” she breathed, pulling him close to her. She wanted to feel his body closing in on her against the bookcase again.

When her mouth met his, he let out a gratified exhale that made Una’s skin feel like it was on fire. God, he was a good kisser. He might have been holding her firmly but his lips were softer, gentler on hers than she’d expected. She almost felt bad about what she was about to do.

She sucked his bottom lip, rolling it between her teeth.

“Mhm,” he groaned, running his hands downthe sides of her body. His hand found the back of her thigh and he gripped under her knee, pulling her leg up to his waist. She could feel his hard cock again pressing into her open hips. 

Payback.

She sank her teeth into his bottom lip and his arousal turned to shock when she bit down - hard. He let go of her abruptly, .

“Argh!” he winced but she didn’t let go. She felt her teeth penetrate the soft flesh of his lip until he stumbled backwards, pushing away and freeing himself of her.

Cormac tried to compose himself, looking dumbfounded. He touched his hand to his bloody lip and looked at his fingers.

“I’m bleeding…”

“Lay a hand on me again and that won’t be the only thing that’s bleeding,” said Una haughtily, shouldering him out of the way as she went back out into the aisle with her book under her arm.

With difficulty, she wiped the satisfied smirk off her face as she sauntered back to Sabine and Meredith’s table, ignoring Eddie Carmichael’s eyes on her as she passed.

“What happened to you?” asked Meredith, taking in her dishevelled appearance.

Una fixed her hair hastily. “I left my wand and had to climb one of those big ladders,” she said quickly. “Nearly fell off it.”

Sabine laughed fondly. “You’re so clumsy, Una.”

“I hate the library,” complained Una sitting down.

“Can’t we just go already?” asked Meredith.

Sabine nodded and the two of them stood up and followed Una to Madam Pince’s desk.

“Just this, please.”

Cormac McLaggen passed them, keeping his head down and covering his lip with his hand.

“God, did you see him?” asked Meredith when Una had stuffed her library book in her bag and they were out of earshot. “Looks like he got into a fight with the same ladder as you, Una.”

Una laughed and refused to meet Sabine’s gaze lest she give anything away.

“Give me some credit. I’m sure my ladder was bigger than his,” said Una, linking each of their arms as they walked back towards the dungeons.

Cormac sat down and Eddie’s face split into a smile when he clocked his flushed face and bleeding lip.

“Don’t…” warned Cormac.

“Oh come on, please? Just once.”

Cormac sighed.

“I told you so,” said Eddie. “I fucking told you so-“

“That was twice.”

“What happened?”

“She bit me. And it bloody hurt.”

“Blood sacrifice. Dark Magic. I told ya, didn’t I?”

“It wasn’t like that... I sort of started it.”

“What, you bit her?” Eddie pulls a disgusted face. “Eugh, mate. Do I even want to know?”

“No, of course I didn’t bite her.” He thought about his hand stifling her scream as she blinked up at him, her eyes wide and pupils blown out. “We were arguing - I think - the next thing I know I had her up against the bookcase to shut her up -”

“Nope. No more,” said Eddie waving his hands and screwing up his face again. “I definitely don’t want to know. And you know if her brother finds out he’s going to kill you. Have you seen the size of him?”

Cormac sighed. 

“Can’t you just find a nice girl? One you don’t want to fight?”

There was a loud thud and they looked up to see a sixth-year, Hermione Granger, picking up her dropped books. She gave them a wide-eyed look in alarm before retreating away, back between the bookshelves.

“Keep it down, Ed, you’re scaring the birds away.”

“I’ll see if I can scare Una Montague away next time for you.”

“What? No, don’t do that,” said Cormac.

“Really?”

Cormac shrugged his shoulders and gave Eddie a cocky grin.

“Fine. You keep doing what you like and I’ll keep telling you I told you so. Because it’s a bad idea. She’s bad news.”

Cormac thought it more likely that he himself was the one who was bad news. He touched his swollen lip again to see if the bleeding had stopped. It had.

“So you’re not gonna put in a good word for me at the next Prefect meeting?” Cormac asked, feeling his pulsing lip under his fingers.

“You’re mental. Absolutely fucking mental.”

“Just keep it quiet though, yeah?”

“Oh, trust me, I’m already erasing it from my mind. In fact, next time you tell me about Una Montague just Obliviate me right after, will you?”

Cormac pretended to resume his Arithmancy homework. He knew exactly what Una was up to. Eddie was right - the same old method she’d used on Slughorn. Pretending she wasn’t interested to make him more so. 

The irritating thing was that it was working. Too well.

Chapter 17,18,19,20

The details of how furniture being gouged out makes you think of adolescent werewolf that Remus was (cooped up and aggressive), and why he would enjoy the full moon runs with Marauders. ('best times of his life' as he says. Whatever feelings he has of the near misses, his spirit in Forest Again is "happy to be back in place of adoloscent wanderings". This is important for Remus' characterisation)

Ron standing on a broken leg to yell at Sirius ("if you want to kill harry, you'll have to kill us too!") moves him (show of loyalty? After all of these years?) but also makes him feel guilty: "Lie down. You will damage that leg even more."

Hermione, who was petrified and asking Harry to be quiet - the moment she spots Harry is in danger from Sirius, she kicks the person she was petrified of moments before (book Hermione is nuanced!) XD And Ron throws himself on Sirius' wand hand. Basically Sirius is getting beaten up by kids.

"Going to kill me, Harry?" - ah, Sirius. He feels enormous amount of guilt for their deaths and doesn't deny that he "killed them". Sirius goes completely silent when Harry says, "You never heard her, did you? My mum trying to stop Voldemort from murdering me". He tried to plead his case before Harry said this, and now, he basically hands over the power to Harry in the scene and let Harry do whatever he wants. He even tries to push Crookshanks off, to get him out Harry's wand's way. (Crookshanks' love for Sirius is deeply endearing btw)

I know people focus a lot on the cracks in Sirius and Remus' friendship, but this wordless communication where Remus figures out who was the actual traitor (Sirius doesn't say a word, btw - he just points at Scabbers, and Remus immediately gets it) is… utterly radical after 13 years of suffering.

"Get away from me werewolf" - to show Ron say this, a child from largely progressive Weasley household, is to show deeply prejudiced the wizarding world is.

The fact that Remus is on his side after 12 years, makes Sirius sit on bed with a "shaking hand". It is similar to Remus' voice that was shaking with "suppressed emotion." (Crookshanks goes to comfort Sirius, and goes to his lap)

One of the ways Remus' guilt at not telling about Sirius' animagus form manifested is that he watched Harry on the map, in a way to handle the untoward incidents that may happen himself. (i mean he would have done it regardless, but this is way to keep his secrets as well)

There are two desires in Sirius - the desire to protect Harry, the desire for vengeance against Peter. The stronger desire, we see, even in the smaller moments is to do right by Harry. It is exactly what Remus invokes when Sirius tries to grab Scabbers from Ron - "You owe Harry the truth, Sirius" and he immediately stops struggling.

"My mind seems to be less so when I was with them" - the Marauders granted a very deep-seated need in Remus, a way to experience his wolf as not a terrible monstrous thing, but a source of joy, a way of integrating that self into his identity without shame.

Remus uses "err" when he is minismising the severity of a situation. "Sirius thought it would be - er - amusing to tell Snape.." (adding @urupotter and @thecat-isblogging-blog thoughts on this when we discussed )

Also, Hermione's role as an advocate in these chapters begins here - she asks Remus the right questions, and she will continue to do so in coming chapters, making sure everyone's story is heard. It is in keeping with the book's ideas of justice and mercy - and while Hermione is the advocate, Harry is the deliverer of justice - one who decides what to do.

Chapter 19 - POA

Snape having to play nursemaid by bringing Lups his goblet of Wolfsbane would not have endeared Lups to him. XD (But it also shows Snape's gritted teeth approach to things he considers danger and how to neutralise that danger)

Snape's first set of dialogue is "I told Headmaster again and again you have been helping Black into castle..". Translation: My father figure that I unfortunately projected onto has been dismissing my feelings and my concerns and now I can spitefully show him the proof. ("I will be very interested to see how Dumbledore takes this")

And Remus lets his anger show up more openly and it is cold and dismissive: "You fool. Is a schoolboy grudge worth putting an innocent man back inside Azkaban?"

Hermione tries to advocate for Lups, saying he should be heard. This is her role in the chapter - when Harry is too emotional and Ron is too confused, she takes over as the advocate in the chapter, while Harry is the judge.

Harry sees that Snape is beyond reason, so he decides to follow Hermione's lead and advocate for Lups instead.

"You would have died like your father too arrogant to believe that he was mistaken in Black" hints to what Snape is feeling in this scene, not to mention being inside the Shrieking Shack where he was sent by Sirius once as a trick, make him regress even more. (Also he dies in Shrieking Shack in Deathly Hallows)

When Snape threatens Harry, "Get out of the way or I will make you" - the trio try to disarm him at once and he gets knocked out. I love Ron and Hermione don't hesitate to do this (even though Hermione panics, "we attacked a teacher"). They are truly ride or die for Harry.

Sirius breaks, and Remus in response "gets a steely note" in his voice ("give me that rat"). The moment Peter appears, Remus will begin to grow colder and colder in the scene.

"His wet eyes seemed to be burning into his face". "fathomless eyes" "sunken eyes suddenly overbright". There is so much emphasis on Sirius' eyes for his emotion - even in GOF, his eyes "shuttered" when talking about his imprisonment. Such a powerful description of his energy and emotionality. It makes you feel his presence as a character.

"Well hello Peter, long time no see" "You might have missed finer points when you have been squeaking around on bed" LMAO. the passive aggression in this man.

Voldemort's closest supporters, most likely the Lestranges, are aware that Peter is the informant. Not everyone seems to be aware - Snape clearly isnt. This is to show hierarchy within Death Eaters. There is also an implication that Lucius may be aware - which is fun again when you look at power dynamics in his "friendship" with Snape. The implication in DH is that Lucius took him under his wing, something that Snape is clearly grateful for (he reacts unconsciously to him being named as DE in GOF), but Snape is not in on the Chamber of Secrets plot, nor about Peter. Also Snape is working against the Malfoys. So many criss-crossing loyalties. XD

"Throat too tight to speak, Harry nodded." - an indication that Harry is near tears too.

Remus rolling up sleeves to get ready to kill Peter. What a gentleman.

When Peter speaks to Harry, Sirius loses it. And then when Peter invokes James to manipulate Harry is when Remus comes forward along with Sirius to throw Peter to the floor. (it's a subtle detail because Remus is quiet and asking polite-sarcastic questions - but it shows how angry he is). For me, the interesting part about Remus' behaviour in the chapter is that he is already on Sirius' side without question. So all the questions he is asking Peter is almost like he is working up his rage more and more.

"You should have died, died rather than betray your friends, as we would have done for you!" "You should have realised, if Voldemort didnt kill you - we would." Sirius is talking about the loyalty Peter refused to show (that they would have showed), and Remus is doling out what would be the expected punishment for that lack of loyalty: "Goodbye Peter"

I am in awe of the fact that Sirius, who was in prison for 12 years and has much right to decide what to do with Peter as much as Harry does, immediately hands over the decision to Harry when Harry asks it. And even when Sirius is threatening Peter, "if you transform, we will kill you", he checks with Harry, "you agree Harry?"

The chapter ends with this sentence, "Crookshanks led the way out of the room, his bottle brush tail held jauntily high." LOL, he has been vindicated!

Chapter 20 - POA

the awkward way Sirius offers Harry a home. He is so unsure! He dominates the scenes of previous chapter, and he is a powerful personality despite being pretty much a walking corpse with alive eyes. And then he turns into something very endearing, when he is all: "of course I though you wouldnt want to -I understand. I just thought-"

And then - when Harry assures him he wants to live with him, "Sirius' gaunt face broke into the first true smile Harry had seen upon it. The difference made it startling, as though a person ten years youngers was shining through the starved mask" . I imprinted on this relationship right then and there, and there is no other dynamic that moves me as much as this in the series.

Harry gropes in the mist for Sirius' arm, and grabs onto him when Dementors come. "They werent going to take him". Adding link to my meta which explains in more detail the beginning of the intense bond between Harry and Sirius.

Chapter 21

Madam Pomfrey having a chocolate the size of a boulder that she has to break apart with the hammer. XD And then she tries to shut Harry up by forcing a chocolate down his throat.

"You surely dont believe a word of Black's story?" "Sirius Black proved he was capable of murder at 16. You havent forgotten he tried to kill me?" Ah, Snape. Dumbledore is siding with Marauders again in his head, and that, among other things, will trigger his final lash out.

Harry understands Dumbles' broader intention (fly Buckbeak to Sirius' window) and Hermione thinks of bigger plans: "If we steal him now, the committee is going to think Hagrid set him free." And Harry spots immediate threats: the werewolf that might run right at them.

"How can you stand this? How can you stand watching it happen?" - Harry doesnt know how to not act. It is one of the reasons in Deathly hallows that when he decides to not go after the wand, it is the scariest thing he had done in his life. He could not remember not acting.

"Get your filthy hands off it" - Harry's dislike for Snape deepened in this book, and gains even more personal edge than before. (it is also in reaction to Harry's anger when Snape suggests they have been confunded. "We' re not confunded!" Harry roars)

"Where are you Dad? Come on" : Harry realising he had seen himself, but conjures a Patronus in the shape of his father's Animagus form is just poetry. Legit one of the most beautiful moments in the series. (And Harry realised… "Prongs," he whispered). This book is also the most contained and stand alone when it comes to Harry's development.

Chapter 22 - POA

It is interesting here that Dumbledore is a bit amused by Snape's meltdown, Snape incensed - but by middle of GOF, their dynamic develops to this ("Sometimes I think we Sort too soon"). It was pointed out by econteacher on discord about how Barty Crouch Jnr as FakeMoody would play this book's fracture against Dumbledore and Snape, since they dont seem to be properly communicating in GOF ("Dumbledore happens to trust me. I refuse to believe he gave you permission to check my office" and how Jnr arrives at the scene of his father's murder: "Snape said something about Crouch."). The Dumbledore-Snape relationship is reaffirmed and repaired by end of GOF book, by Snape's show of loyalty to Dumbledore in front of Fudge (where Snape straight up shows his Dark Mark to Fudge to stop him from mouthing off Dumbledore), and him going to Voldemort on Dumbledore's orders.

Lups confirming to Hagrid he didn't eat anything in the night points to interesting stuff about his memory when he is transformed.

Lups wanting to leave as quickly as possible because he feels he has let down Dumbledore - by keeping Sirius' animagus form a secret back in school to now, and the fact he was loose on the grounds in the night.

Ron takes Pidwidgeon out of harm's way when he notices Crookshanks eyeing him. XD And then he gets Crookshanks to sniff him. "What do you reckon? Definitely an owl?" this moment is so adorable. Crookshanks purrs, and Ron decides, "Thats good enough for me"

Nebbia's Origin Story

You might have seen and/or read about my HL MC Nebbia DeLuca, who I kinda revived for my HL playthroughs. But this very OC has been in my brain and in several attempts at writing her story for almost a decade now.

She's also been a shotgun/blood magic wielding Templar in The Secret World/Secret World Legends, or a necromancer with a greatsword and a staff in Guild Wars 2, and a car collecting maniac world explorer in GTA Online. So having "just" a wand was quite the adjustment for her!

But enough about her alter egos, how did she come to be?

She's been in my brain ever since I came into contact with The Last of Us. That game had a serious impact on me and the stories whirling through my head. I've always been a storyteller, have written stories since an early age. I've created a lot of original characters, fleshed out, with detailed backstories, but I was never able to finish their respective stories.

The themes were always pretty similar: younger woman, older man, size difference, gruff but protective male, innocent but feisty female. Side characters were always of the jealous, dangerous kind. I've always loved taboos and kinks, and the above-mentioned dynamic is one of my favorites to write (and read) stories about.

So, inspired by Joel and Ellie's relationship, I wanted to create characters that were similar, but different. My main motive for writing was always: Something's missing in those stories, let's write it myself! It started with adding romance to a thriller, love to a murder mystery, or found family/forbidden feelings to otherwise "innocent" scenarios.

For example, I've written a story about a young woman falling in love with the married father of the kid she's supposed to babysit (I swear there's more to that story than the porn clichés, it ends up turning into a psychological drama about jealousy and domination, mental illness, murder, abduction, what's real, what's not kinda scenes; unfortunately I've never finished my first proper original work that's sitting on a USB-stick somewhere since 2011. One day I'll get to finish your story, Tasja, don't worry. You'll get your happy ending!).

And then, someday in the year 2017, I started writing a story (though the idea is much older) about a post-apocalyptic world, based on an island near my hometown. I've thrown ideas around and around, researching, visiting places, creating characters, always changing something, but the basic idea that stuck was this (I suck at summaries, btw, sorry!):

Twenty years ago, there was a black-out and society collapsed. The people on that island live in groups, as far away from each other as possible to avoid conflict, as they are all stuck there, with no way to leave the island.

Enter Nebbia, born after the End, who is a girl living in an all-female village run by a group of older women called the Elders, whose daughters (creatively named the Daughters) do all their "dirty work". Nebbia is classified as a Motherless, you guessed it, lives without a mother.

And the backstory of that, in short, is: her mother was pregnant when she was found by one of the Daughters and brought to the village, gave birth, and fled the place after she discovered their dark secret (because what's a post-apocalyptic community without a dark secret, eh?), but she left Nebbia there because she knew she would have a safe home in spite of it, that is until she turns 18, when things go really dark.

In short: there's a strange little celebration, all the girls of age are dressed in their best dresses, and then leave the village on their way to another village nearby that is run by the Men... and, uh, well, yeah, society collapsed, so they try to rebuild it, it's a breeding station, oops, you get the idea.

And that is when our male protagonist comes in: Ben, in his late thirties, a gruff, lonesome smuggler/outsider/person who doesn't have a village/group, but works between them. And he is hired by none other than Nebbia's mother, Kira, to get Nebbia and save her from the horrible fate of being bred helping society grow again.

But something happens (there's a mysterious fog that keeps the people from leaving the island, but never mind that, although that is why Nebbia is called Nebbia, because fog=nebbia in Italian, because her mother is half-Italian - also, hey, off-topic, but there's a fitness clothes store called Nebbia in the Slovak Republic, isn't that cool?) and Ben loses his memories, and when he sees Nebbia, he thinks she's Kira... and kinda falls for her, because, of course, him and her were sweethearts before the End (but they had a falling out, but he doesn't remember that yet).

And Nebbia is this innocent girl, who basically worked as a slave her whole life, can't read, can't swim, is treated very poorly, can't exist outside her village, really. (And to have such a character and let her explore the world and learn stuff and blossom would have been so interesting to write!)

So Ben saves kidnaps Nebbia from the village, and they try to find their way back to Kira... and somehow this is where my ideas froze. I wanted to show their journey through the post-apocalyptic world, how their life is, what they do to survive, who they meet, that he slowly regains his memories and realizes his feelings for this girl, and once they get to where they want to go, they find out that Kira is gone/dead/I don't know, something, aaaand their journey continues? I have no idea. I never came to those parts.

I've written so many versions of that story, in German to start with (because the island it's set on is a German island), then tried recreating it in English without the local color, but it never really worked. I didn't know where it would end.

But the characters remained inside my head, I've had so many scenarios for them because I loved their dynamic, but I've never written any of them because back then I thought I needed a full story, something with beginning and end, the whole deal. I've never written one-shots before, or even short stories. I was fixated on the whole "novel" thing, that was my goal, my dream.

But now, after having written sooo many one-shots for a fandom, just snippets of people's lives and what they do in the moment, I feel confident enough to tackle it. To create little short stories centered around those very characters: Ben and Nebbia.

I've also read so many original works on AO3 lately, and seeing how people just put their own ideas out there, for everyone to see, did something to me. I always wanted to keep my ideas to myself, because, maybe, someday, I'll finish a story and could send it to a publisher and one day have my own work in book-form, but honestly, it is such a daunting idea, when all I wanna do is tell stories.

And so now I will just tell stories. I've started by writing for these characters everyone knows and loves (and I'll keep writing Sebastian smut, don't worry!), but now it's time to branch out, give those people inside my head their story, or at least snippets of their lives, and share it with the world.

And as I write this, I am working on an AU of those characters, with a completely different setting, but the same dynamic: older man, younger woman, gruff/protective vs. innocent/feisty, love in dangerous environments. Of course, it's gonna have my usual smut elements, but also world building, side characters, character development, etc. and new things to research!

(Lemme throw in some words I learned that may give a hint to where the story is set: withers, spats, stirrup. As for the time, well, it's actually an era I've already written for, but the place is a lot more... west, way west.)

I feel very inspired, and I hope I can one day (hopefully very soon*) share their story with you.

My first initial reaction when seeing the hermit reversed was "oh Vecna's gonna be all over his ass", but I'm not certain about that at all. Like this is a reading only about byler and how its gonna play out-- not about how Mike's gonna be dealing with Vecna.

Because Eddie and I don't use a dining room, we converted the dining area into my office! So if you see peaks of the kitchen/living room/entrance, that's why! It's not much, but it's all my own! 💛

Eddie installed some hooks for where my mugs used to hang. I have better mug storage now, so hanging above the entrance I put this ornament I picked up while in New Orleans back in August 2022! Gay mermen? C'mon. I named them Henry and Sebastian btw.

This is my non-HP witchy section. Mostly astrology books. A few miscellaneous witchcraft books on the bottom shelf. And my crystal collection on top!

I mentioned "mug collection" right? I love them! 😍 Though it might be worth noting that I have other mugs in the kitchen cabinet. 👀 And a small holiday collection I bring out during the holidays. I don't have a problem, I swear.

Then between my desk and the HP shelf I have PILLOWS because I'm too restless to stay in one place and position for too long. I also have a lap desk tucked away so I pull that out and hop into my pillows to keep writing! (My lil bee is named Beatrice, btw.) (Queen Bea! 🥰🥰)

This space seriously brings me so much joy, and so much inspiration. To have a space dedicated to writing, and my fandom, and my BOYS. Being able to have Snarry out and proud and all around me???? 🥺🥺 I'm all in my feelings. (Seriously, though, need MORE.) And not just a representation of my OTP, but of other creators who inspire me! The bound books being writers and bookbinders. My embroidery by onbeinganangel!! And some of the artists I love! A great reminder of all the talent in fandom and how much love and passion there is out there!!!! And I have pieces of it HERE WITH ME???? I am blown away and very in love.

I am very grateful to my partner. It was his idea to split areas so I'd have this one for myself (he has his own space now, too, for Magic the Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, Brandon Sanderson, etc.) (Oh and his monstrous dice collection.) But I was lamenting how I was running out of room on my one little wall for Snarry art. My desk used to be on the little wall where my witchy shelf is. And it was Eddie's idea to make the whole room mine. And he and I worked hard not only rearranging to have our own areas, but decluttering and reorganizing the whole apartment! This man found the time and energy to make my life happier even when super busy and stressed from work. So in its way, this space also represents his love and thoughtfulness and dedication for me. Which makes it all the better! (And really, he had to do all of the heavy lifting, I am tragically weak.)

They probably felt there were too many obstacles between them, it was probably hard to visualize an actual future together, there might have been some communication issue and it was probably hard to get a good balance between Chen’s job and his wife needs.

The oracle cards just fit very well with what I could see in the tarots, they probably had to work hard in order to be together as a couple and resist all the pressure they felt these past few years.

Some type of truth came out with whoever he was dealing with at that time. Whoever this was, it feels almost like they were his kryptonite. Like his soft spot. Getting the vibe that this person knew that and was taking advantage of him. I think this is connected to the reading I did for his current energy back in October. Feels like the same grossness. His ego really took a hit with this person. I think he was starting to project all of this negative energy onto those close to him and started to fear that they were just using him too.

He put this whole thing to rest. He's not happy about it ending, he feels like he just quit. Like he's not good enough, like he couldn't do enough to make whoever this person was stay. But he's putting it all to rest and just moving on with the whole thing.
