All I’m saying is that in the supernatural universe, I firmly believe that the most popular destiel fics are written and posted by one Sam Winchester under a pen name. And he doesn’t even come up with elaborate plots. He just dictates, almost verbatim, interactions he witnesses Cas and Dean having and then just tacks a kiss or a love confession on the end.

And everyone comments about how he just gets their characters, how he builds such convincing sexual and romantic tension, how the characters feel like real people instead of words on a page. Sam is the most popular destiel ao3 author, his fics on every single rec list, and it’s simply because he got tired of watching Dean and Cas pine uselessly for each other so he decided to make it everyone’s problem.

Back and ready to start anew

I'm back! I'm trying to start being more active on here to find a more constructive community. That being said, I am currently working on a folklore research project that involves studying a specific digital folk group so there will be a little bit of lurking and a little bit of participation from me, specifically within the witchblr tag since it's where my research is based. If there is anything you feel I should include about the community or if you would like to offer your own personal insight or experience feel free! I'm currently just gathering trends and experiences that seem to permeate the space in these early stages but if anyone who's a veteran of the tag would like to help me I'd be forever grateful (obviously feel no obligation to help little old me I am a folklorist after all it's my job to study the people I am capable of finding what I need if it comes to that). I'm super excited to be back and be able to examine everything here in a new light!

also i have probably said this before but i think faculty need to stop telling students that they shouldn’t go to graduate school. yes students should have the information they need to make the decision (including info about the low stipends, the not-so-great culture of many graduate programs, the vanishingly small number of stable academic jobs, etc). but i’ve always felt like some students are going to hear that and think “well, it won’t be me, i’ll work hard and beat the odds!” (typically your well-off students who have a lot of social & navigational capital and an assured sense of belonging in higher ed spaces), while other students are going to hear it and think “i wonder if they’re just saying that because they think i’m not cut out for graduate study.”

EDEN | TRAILBLAZER : CONSTELLATION affiliated with @maquiscursed's alhaitham

▸ due to the citizen of teyvat having a constellation assigned to them from birth, eden and alhaitham had decided to name a constellation and assigned it to eden as to give her an identity under the sky of teyvat. this is a little special secret between the two, something that belongs only to them. the constellation name they decided on is 『 vesper 』, meaning evening star.

▸ they have matching tattoos laced in metallic gold ink ( ref ), both on their inner-wrists, right above their pulses but opposite side of each other. eden's is on her right, alhaitham's is on his left.

▸ both tattoos are deshret script and runes personally designed and crafted by alhaitham. eden's is a combination of runes that would read the word『 vesper 』, and『 aquila 』, the name of the star of vultur volans, alhaitham's constellation.

▸ alhaitham's tattoo includes ones that can be translated to ' evening ' - with the phrase for ' silence ' being made up of different runes including that one to give it more nuance, specifically the quiet silence at the end of the day/beginning of the night, referencing eden's assigned constellation of『 vesper 』.

▸ their tattoos are a matching set, a part of a two-pieces secret puzzle designed by the scribe himself. when their tattoos are put together, it could be decrypted and translated into ' home. '

▸ eden has a habit of kissing this tattoo that is on her pulse. it's as though she could feel him and is kissing him due to its symbolic meaning. with the pulse being the vital sign of life and heart, and because he is her heart, her kissing the mark on her pulse is a subtle way of her expressing her longing for him when she misses him and cannot do so physically. It's her way to sate herself while they're apart, until she could see him again.

another random headcanon that is unrelated to this but i feel like i'd include it here :

▸ eden has an image folder on her phone full of candid shots of alhaitham and naming the folder『 altair 』( arabic for flying eagle, a direct connection to alhaitham's constellation vultur volans. ) she also calls him with this nickname when they're alone. If you're paying close attention, you can sometimes catch her calling him this when they're together and when she wasn't careful. he doesn't seem to mind it.

Putting this here because I've been struggling a whole lot to build Luocha to be decent and it forced me to learn to appreciate things like this. He surely has more room for improvement, but it's the proudest I've been in terms of relic (and by extension artifact too in Genshin, I don't think I've got good ones like this for a single character) farming.
