I Don't Love You Binding/Banishing Spell
Tumblr media
Had a relationship that turned sour? Worried about ill intent causing issues in your life? Boy howdy do I have the spell for you!
What all you're gonna need:
🫙a small jar or container, making sure it's transparent (plastic is discouraged as it could warp due to hot wax)
🏷️ a tag lock of your intended recipient
🖋️a marker (sharpie works pretty well on glass and metal)
🌵thorns/pins/needles/whatever small sharp things are on hand
🧂salt
🌶️ dried hot pepper of some sort
🎵 the song "I don't love you" by mcr
🪞 a mirror
🕯️a candle (I use a beeswax candle bc that's what I've got on hand, feel free to use whatever you like)
Practice fire safety, make sure you have access to water and aren't wearing any loose clothing that could catch fire. Make sure your space is clear of anything that could catch fire. Also make sure this is a space you're okay with potentially getting candle wax on.
Set yourself up in front of a mirror, you'll be using it to reflect their bad intentions away from you and into the binding spell.
Start playing the song, I put it on loop because this spell can take longer than the duration of the song and you'll be using the song as a focus for this spell.
Light your candle.
Take your hot pepper of choice and add a layer to the bottom of your jar.
Take your taglock and gently press the thorns/needles/etc into the taglock being sure not to pierce it all the way through: the goal here is to show you have a sharp offensive but not to cause harm unless necessary.
Set your taglock inside the container, nestling it part way in the hot pepper. This is to make them feel the heat-- you're not harming them, but the implication is you're prepared to.
Fill the jar with enough salt that there's only a small amount of room between the salt and the top of the container. The goal is to use salt to cleanse any ill will they may send your way, so make sure the taglock is covered completely.
Take your candle and carefully tip it so the melted wax fills the container the rest of the way. This is to create a solid barrier, trapping any malicious intent from escaping.
You may want to wait til the wax has cooled before securing the lid on your container as it will be hot.
Once the lid has been secured, draw the nazar (protection from the evil eye) on the lid, sides and bottom of your jar.
Optional step to elevate this to a banishing spell; throw the container out.
If for some reason you think you might want to undo the binding spell in the future, keep the container. You will need to remove its contents in order to undo the binding spell.

A Simple Binding Spell by HearthWitch
Be angry and emotional for this spell.
Need: - A pen - Black thread - A small picture of who you're binding (no filters)
Write on the back of the picture their full name and birth date then what you're binding them from
Speak it out loud, to the picture, what you're binding them from
Fold the picture in half and roll it up away from you, picture on the inside you if you miss a spot no one will know who you've bound
Wrap the black thread around it covering every inch of it, saying their name, birthday, and what you're binding them from. Be angry and frustrated. Enter a trance. Make it as tight as possible.
Tie it off and hide it somewhere safe. The binding will start to loosen after 4 to 6 months and can be added to once more to secure it again.
Check out the video of her demonstrating how to perform the spell here:

Gossamer.
Draco stitches the collar of Harry’s cloak. Each is a tiny thing, scarcely visible to the eye. The thread is gossamer, so Draco needs to be careful. The magic won’t work if it snaps.
“I bind you,” Draco whispers, the needle sliding in and out. “I bind you to me.”
~~
For the @drarrymicrofic prompt of gossamer.
Have a great week lovely people xx

Explaining Binding Spells
Last night I was forced to come to the unpleasant realization that a lot of people don't really do their research. They just assume that what they see in the movies or TV is accurate and then emulate it.
I was in a witch group on Facebook (those places are cesspits of misinformation) and there was someone there completely convinced that binding spells strip a witch of her powers and "sometimes that's necessary."
Okay. There's a lot to unpack here. The very first time I have ever so much as heard of a binding spell taking a witch's ability to use magick was in The Craft movies and later in the TV show Charmed. Charmed borrowed a lot from The Craft right down to using "How Soon is Now?" for the theme song.
At first I tried to calmly explain to that person that binding spells are to bind against "doing harm." There was no binding spell (before those movies and TV show) that ever suggested "I bind you from ever being able to use magick ever again."
"From doing harm" is not a blanket term to mean 'stripped of being able to cast spells." It simply means what it says on the label, "doing harm."
This does not take away benign spells or even defensive magick. If "doing harm" meant stripped of all magick that is the same as insultingly suggesting all magick is harmful by default. And that is not something most practitioners would ever claim.
The person rudely replied by condescendingly asking "Have you ever worked with deities or angels? I have seen Hecate take away a person's magick because they were misusing it. And I know for a fact binding spells work. Do your research!"
Of course they work, but not in the way she thinks. They were never meant to strip someone of all ability to use magick. In witchcraft that is the same as crippling. You might as well ask that the person's eyes be gouged out or their hands be cut off. Magick is an essential aspect of all life.
Outside of Wicca there are few versions of witchcraft that would even believe Hecate would consider any use of magick a "misuse." She's the goddess of ALL witchcraft. Not just "light and love."
Not to mention taking away the ability to cast magick could never be justified. It's like taking away one of someone's senses. That doesn't fall into the rule of three. It's exponential harm. There's nothing that can justify it and you're likely to offend whatever you invoke to try to ask it be done.
I tried to explain to the person that to believe "I bind you from doing harm" means "never use magick again" is very insulting and implies that all magick is harmful by default. And that is not how binding spells even work. There are no real spells for stripping another witch of all her power forever and ever. This was something invented for the plot convenience of The Craft movies and the TV show Charmed.
It's far worse than even the silly phone emoji spells that sometimes turn up on Tumblr.
She replied by saying "You sure were triggered by that movie!"
No, I'm just explaining that it IS fiction. Back in the 90s I knew of a lot of Wiccans and other Neo Pagans who were very bothered by The Craft movie and its depictions but The Craft 2 made it so much worse by explicitly claiming binding spells take away a witch's ability to use any and all magick even to protect herself. And the TV show Charmed is equally as guilty of perpetuating this idea.
That's not how it works.
Think of an actual binding spell as being like having a profanity filter on your phone. The person can still text. They just can't text the F word to you. That's what a binding spell does. It prevents harm.
You won't find any spell from before 1996 that claims a binding spell is the same as "You will never be able to use magick ever again." No witch has that kind of power to take away another's power, and no entity invoked would ever want to do that for you, they are not your hired thugs. That's the magical equivalent of asking that an artist's hands be smashed with a mallet on your behalf.
In fact to even try casting that kind of spell is pretty offensive. And not only not likely to work but also likely to backfire.
But, you can't tell Facebook occultists anything.
The fact that this person suggested I "do my research" was very dismissive and insulting. I'm forty-two-years-old. I've studied the arcane since I was a teenager. I have an honorary doctorate in Divinity and another in Metaphysics. I have a diploma in Parapsychology / Astrology from SCI (Stratford Career Institute).
Please... for the sake of the sanity of elder witches... Stop trusting TV shows and movies to be accurate.

Could you explain what binding spells are supposed to do? I keep seeing the term, but I don’t really know what it means
A binding spell is typically a spell that restrains someone or something metaphysically. It comes from the idea that you can bind someone physically, like tie them up, to stop them from doing something. This is why binding spells often use string or rope as part of the spell.
So here's some examples of what binding spells are commonly used for.
You can bind someone from doing harm to others, symbolically tying them up for protection. A lot of people will use this on specific spirits as well as living people, and state what they are binding the target from doing.
You can bind someone's actions coaxing them in the direction you want them to go. Like the saying "My hands are tied" meaning they have no choice.
If you think outside the box, you can technically bind two things together. Some love spells are done like this, or you can bind your keys to yourself so you stop losing them.
Binding is one of those very common, almost quintessential spells you'll see a lot. They're a go to for protection spells in a lot of cases where you know who's trying to cause harm or trouble. And it's not uncommon to bind a target when cursing them to prevent them from retaliating.
I've personally used it for protection a lot over the years, and I've even used it to bind someone from drinking to help them get over their addiction (at their request), and it worked really well.
Thanks for the ask Anon. If there's anything else you need to know, feel free to ask.

so I've got this neighbor, right? i live in an apartment complex and her unit is the one that shares the north wall with mine. almost every day i hear this woman shouting at her kids, cussing and ranting, slamming doors, etc. she's been caught stealing packages, she's had the cops called on her when her three-year-old ran away in the middle of the night (kid ended up wandering the complex alone at eleven pm with no idea how to get out), and I've heard her leave her infant baby alone in the apartment while it cries.
ive never done a binding spell in my life but I'd love some feedback on how i might be able to stop this woman from hurting her kids any more than she already has. i have her first name and her address but that's it.

Mami's Binding Ribbons
Tumblr media
To bind a person and keep them from interfering with your work
Whatcha you need:
🎀 A red ribbon
⛓️ A necklace chain (or any other chain)
🔐 Lock
🪆 A poppet to represent the person you're binding
Secure your chain to your ribbon (sew it on, glue it, however you see fit)
Wrap your poppet in the ribbon, finishing it by tying a bow. "If you insist on struggling you bonds will only tighten."
Take your lock and secure it over the knot of your ribbon "Behave and I will release you unharmed after I am finished with my work."
When you've completed your task and are ready to undo the binding spell, unlock and untie the poppet

The Curse is Cast
At a little after 8 PM today, 11/20, astrological Samhain, I appealed to my maternal grandmother to aid me in a curse against my cousin’s abusive husband. Among other things, I called for her to aid me in binding his mouth with rusty nails, having a peach pit rot his stomach, to protect all innocent people from the impacts, and to protect me if she feels my cause is just.
Right after, I was reorganizing my altar and pulled out her ring. I knew it was there -that’s where I keep it- but it isn’t something I think about. I never knew her. But the ring came into my hand, and now it’s on my finger.
Now we wait.
