growing up is realising you have an affinity for pink/black relationships because the depth of their connection to each other turning foul (because they fear the enormity of their feelings), and them eventually having to work together to grow past and find the deep love that was always there, always changing them under deeply complex layers, just appeals to you because you are afraid of loving but simultaneously want to be so connected to someone you can't tell if it's love or hatred, but you always knew it was fated to be a love that changes the very fabric of you—for better or worse.

I really feel like this was the only time we saw Hecate Hardbroom be completely herself and vulnerable with someone else. There were some lovely moments with other people like Ada, but crying and embracing feels like something very special she had just with Pippa...I wish the writers had let Hicsqueak develop, can you imagine through all the pain she went though in other storylines if she had someone she may have genuinly gone to for comfort without needing to feel restrained?

Seriously, where is the campaign for season 5 starring Raquel Cassidy and Amanda Holden? Haha

day thirty-one: eternity 🖤

it's the end! i finally completed my epic daily update fic at 69.5k words!! i never realised i could write that much in such a short space of time, but apparently i can if i do absolutely nothing else all month, OOP

StoryTime!

My first hicsqueak story! It 's based on the song 'Happier ' by Ed Sheeran, an I hope you'll enjoy it!

It was not the first time Hecate and Pippa had a fight… Ada knew that very well, but this fight felt different. She loved both women very much and was happy that they were together, but something about this fight felt off… And she was right. Not much later Pippa came out of the lab, very mad. Ada could see the tears rolling down her cheeks. She looked for a moment at Ada, shook her head and then walked away. Ada got very concerned now. She could hear Hecate sobbing. Ada walked in. She hugged Hecate and tried to comfort her.

But it was hopeless. Hecate was heart broken. For days she didn't leave her quarters. Ada tried everything to make her as comfortable as possible. After that day everything changed. While teacher Hecate was harder than ever. She was cold and was even scared to show emotions throwards Ada. She was heart broken. It hurt Ada too. Hecate hadn't been anywhere except her potionslab and her own chamber and Ada got more and more worried. After weeks Hecate started to act normal again, but Ada knew how much pain she was in. 

 After a few months the girls had a free day and Ada knocked on the door of the potions lab. "Mind to join me for a walk down the village?" Ada asked gently. Hecate nodded slowly. It had been a while since she had last left the academy.  They walk down and after going to a few shops they end up in a coffee shop. Ada orders for both of them and they sit down. Hecate stared down at her hands and Ada laid her hands on Hecate's. 

"It will be okay Hecate…" She whispered.

"I know Ada- I just- Don't feel happy- I miss her so badly" 

Ada nodded. "I know my love… I know… And I'm here for you." 

Hecate nodded. "I know Ada- Thank you" 

Ada smiled gently and Hecate smiled sadly. It hurt Ada, but she let Hecate go. They drink their coffee in silence. They decided to go to a park and Hecate sat down on a bence. Ada sat down next to her as Hecate stared at a place. Ada followed her gaze and her eyes grew wide. Pippa was there, kissing another girl. It was the first time Hecate saw Pippa after the break up and she looked at Ada. As the girl left, she took a deep breath, got up and walked over to Pippa. 

"Hello Pippa," She said softly. 

"Hecate." Pippa said a little cold. 

"I'm sorry- but Pippa, you look happier- you do… Ada said one day, I'll feel it too, but until then I'll smile and hide the truth, but I know I was happier, with you…" Hecate said softly and she looked down. 

Pippa stared at her. "You- What?" 

"Nothing- nevermind…" Hecate said. Pippa looked down then looked up. "You know- I've never stopped loving you, Hiccup" "I- we can't be together- you know that…"

Pippa nodded. "I've moved on Hicc"

Hecate nodded too. "But if she breaks your heart, like lovers do, just know that I'll be waiting here for you" 

Ada heard them from a distance and smiled gently. Pippa and Hecate hugged each other and Ada knew things would sort themselves out eventually and everything would be alright.

P: She found it hard to forgive Hecate, even though she would never have admitted to even holding a grudge during thirty years.

H: She found an odd sort of comfort in being confined to the academy.

P: her broom, a hair brush and Hecate.

H: a portable cauldron, a bag full of ingredients and a notebook to keep track of her experiments —sorry, Pippa.

P: Hecate's surprised face whenever she boops her nose.

I can think of several scenarios, but for both of them I think it would count as a perfect day whenever they finally figure out how to make a potion or spell work after a long research.

P: She sent Hecate a lot of letters a few months after they finished school, when she'd cooled down, but they all went unanswered.

H: the pain and shame of all the times she tried to cross the academy's boundaries after her confinement was enforced.

Wait friendships are allowed? I didn’t see that part. I’ll just do the romantic pairings I picked out before properly reading this ask. JeanLisa (Jean Gunhildr (Genshin Imapct) x Lisa Minci (Genshin Impact)) and Hicsqueak (Hecate Hardbroom (The Worst Witch (2017)) x Pippa Pentangle (The Worst Witch (2017))) are two pairings that I ship. Oh also Bubbline (Princess Bubblegum (Bonnibel Bubblegum (I think (I don’t watch the show))) (Adventure Time) x Marceline Abadeer (Adventure Time)). I also accidentally created a ship with my OCs when I didn’t mean to so whoops. I guess it’s called Roven (Rose x Steven)? Maybe Stereo works better. This has nothing to do with Steven Universe. (Steven is actually just a placeholder name because I forgot his real name. Maybe it was Alex? Does that make the ship name Rolex?)

Hmm. There’s Lilith & King (others convinced me, it started with Michie), Lilith & Hooty (the actual show), and Eda & Gus (various people but definitely Bas). Also Odalia & Eberwolf (technically I just thought about it but I’m adding it on here because it would be an interesting dynamic (although MoringMark has done some stuff on that)).

E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what?

Hmm. I did make a decently popular meme about it Hooty had a gun. It was unoriginal, but it got notes. (Why are my popular posts meme related? What does it mean? (We’re skipping the pun.)) I also made a post about Belos being a musical character (no one else was though) which also got some notes.

K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?

Lilith. (Everyone knew I was going to say that.) I just like how she goes from scary to adorkable. (Kind of wish I had more angst with her but it’s fine.) I also like Luz and Eda’s character arcs. And King’s. And Hooty’s. I just love the Owl Fam.

far away, long ago

The truth is unearthed and Hecate 'useless lesbian' Hardbroom is extremely unequipped to deal with actually being married to Pippa Pentangle...seemingly, for the last thirty years without her knowledge.

But things are about to get worse at Cackle’s Academy, as those who were frozen by the Magical Frost suffer the consequences and a mysterious illness sweeps through the student body, quarantining all the witches within the castle. Can Hecate and Pippa work together to discover the truth of their union and more importantly, can those affected by the Frost be saved in time?
