Excuse me I just found out Annabeth’s step mom’s name is NOT Helen??? Her real name is never mentioned??? We all just agreed on that, apparently. But how??? I could’ve sworn they said Helen in the books. No wonder why I was so confused when fanfics used other names I was like “but her name is Helen?” but I guess not

I was about to go to bed and I had an epiphany….what if the whole reason Helen wanted Annabeth away from Bobby and Matthew is because that are legacy demigods from her side. It would make total since bc having Annabeth and legacies in the house would attract more monsters…. Also then picture Annabeth finding out and being pissed that she has to take them to camp bc it was her space and their sibling fights during training!!!!! Also Fredrick would be pissed Helen didn’t tell him which would give Annabeth more satisfaction….. okay now by brain is in a rabbit whole… OMG AND MAGNUS FINDING OUT AND BEING LIKE WTF IS OUR FAMILY WITH ANNABETH!!!!! Brain rot.

thinking about how Annabeth calls Percy "obtuse" & "unable to see how people feel" in the demigod diaries and now you just know that she was fighting for her life flirting with him for years and Percy was just like "that's my best friend :) she is so nice to me"

Because, at its core, Twister (1996) is a romance.

If only there was some way to get through the impossibly thick skin of showrunners (from producers to directors to writers — anyone who has a say in the matter) that writing off a character from your show does not always mean: a) DEATH and/or b) COMPLETE CHARACTER ASSASSINATION that totally overlooks said character's development & induces a personality transplant!!!!!

It's sad because it just ruins everything that character stands for on a show, and boy oh boy if they're part of a romantic pair, it's destructive because there end up being 2 victims — the one who's being written off & the one who's still here. Honestly feels like an insult to the characters (and the actors who bring them to life) in some cases.

Some characters that were dealt this hand, off the top of my hand:

Dr Lisa Cuddy (House MD)

Dr Helen Sharpe (New Amsterdam)

Dr Sarah Reese (Chicago Med)

Honestly, this one just hurts. So much potential down the drain because she was just used as a character that never really knew what to do & they kept ruining her.

Special mention (because I understand but also no?): I keep thinking of Leo Hendrie from Chasing Life — I kind of get it; the actor was always credited as a guest star & ultimately it was a show about cancer so someone had to die if not the lead character (April Carver), but one week after their wedding?! Cop out, I tell you!

Goodness me, I have so many feelings & thoughts about this but not much energy, so this will have to do.

I just remembered how much guilt Annabeth must have from watching Thalia die protecting her, momentarily thinking Percy sacrificed himself for her at the arch, thinking Percy was dead for 2 weeks from blowing up saint Helen’s on her quest, Luke stabbing himself with her knife, and Arachne pulling her down to Tartarus and pulling Percy down too.

She must feel like they suffered because of her, and there’s no way she doesn’t feel guilty about that. Not to mention her stepmom made her feel like it was her fault the monsters attacked her and put her brothers in danger.
