I know I said won’t post until new pen, but somehow I completely forgot I can, in fact, draw traditionally. The style I can manage is much more sketchy than my usual, but it’s whatever!

A rough draft of Marshall Lee and Fionna Campbell’s twins, Julie and Ezra!

Due to Marshall not being a demon vampire in this, the two of them get a lot more of their other parent’s genes than any other version of them. Usually the demon genes basically beat out all others and they just come out looking like their vampire parent.

After creating my Golden Goose fan kid, Merch, I found myself overcome with a lot of ideas for fan kids of the other Sins (barring some exceptions). While I had some trepidations sharing them, talking with @prof-ramses about Merch has helped give me the confidence to make this post, even if I don’t do much with these characters later on.

Like last time, ideas are under the cut.

Ignacio “Iggy” Chakal. Satan’s only child. Iggy came about from a night of passion between the King of Wrath and a jackal demon on the night of one fateful Harvest Moon Festival. Iggy is in many ways the opposite of his father, being a rather willowy and lethargic gamer, in contrast to his father being a mountain of muscle and a semiretired warlord. Personality wise, Iggy is completely apathetic and disinterested with anything that isn’t on a screen and typically reacts with passive aggression whenever someone tries to actually engage with him. His games of choice are Rust style online multiplayers and when he isn’t playing those, he’s either creating discourse online, inciting flame wars, or trolling & doxxing people. Satan for his part actually tries to engage with his son and be a supportive father, albeit maybe a bit too enthusiastically, but Iggy just doesn’t care enough to give his dad the time of day.

The Pups (Bernadette, Beatrix, Beckett, Belladonna, & Debbie). Bee and Vortex’s quintuplet daughters. The Pups are all rather varied in terms of appearance, with Beatrix being the most canine in appearance, while Debbie is an anthropomorphic bee (Bernadette, Beckett, & Belladonna are more or less even blends of both features). As for individual personalities, they each sort of personify traits of both parents, Bernadette=irreverent party girl, Beatrix=stoic & takes no shit, Beckett=strong protective drive, Belladonna=natural born performer, & Debbie=emotionally aware & caring. Despite how varied their personalities are, The Pups can actually work in tandem with one another with no issue, often doing so without uttering a single word. While Vortex took to being a dad as if it were second nature, Bee was, and still is, stressed about becoming a parent out of fear that her lifestyle would make her ill equipped at raising her daughters.

Drawing from a previous idea me and @prof-ramses discussed, Ozzie is on record for not desiring any children because they’d “just tie him down”. This is ironic because A. Ozzie has already unknowingly conceived a number of kids throughout his long existence & B. as the other Sins can attest, this is the exact same thing Ozzie said about entering a committed relationship. Fizz meanwhile is on record for being open to having a kid one day.

Sock & Buskin. Leviathan’s twin sons. It’s left ambiguous whether or not the twins are adopted or not. For that matter, it’s not clear which is the older of the two or if “Sock” and “Buskin” are nicknames. Both of them can be described as theater kids, although Sock is a scrawny theater goth & Buskin is a burly theater jock. The two resent each other for what the other has (Buskin’s physicality & Sock’s intelligence respectively) and both are generally just difficult to be around. A unique ability the twins possess is the ability to combine into a form reminiscent of Vilitch the Curseling. They hardly ever use this ability given their inability to get along and cooperate. Leviathan does legitimately love his boys and desires to be the best parent he can be (partly to one up the other Sins), but his parenting style is unfortunately near identical to the way he runs his publication, resulting in his sons constantly fighting one another for his affection.

Subject: BEL/BAP - 03/Junior. Belphegor & Baphomet’s son. Rather than waste valuable work time and resources doing things the old fashioned way, Bel created Junior by taking genetic samples from herself and Baph, while also implementing some from a few “willing donors” to fill in gaps left by the mutations in her genes. Junior was incubated and left to develop in a bacta tank until he reached puberty, with automated recordings and audio logs serving as his only means of education and exposure to the outside world. Junior combines the best features of his parents as well as a few traits from the other genetics sources Bel integrated, such as feathers and extra eyes. Personality wise, Junior takes heavily from his father, while also being something of a mirror to Charlie. That is to say, while Charlie is an ambitious dreamer who wants to change the world, Junior is an unmotivated philosopher who likes to while away the hours contemplating such things as lint drifting in the wind. While Baph is unfailingly patient with Junior and gently tries to push him to be more driven, Bel is quickly losing patience and is rather insistent about him getting a proper job and moving out.

something i find really gross by the writers and fans of the show Helluva Boss is that everyone bemoans and bitches about Stolas being made to marry Stella and have a child with her when SHE WAS IN THE SAME DAMN BOAT. I am pleading with people to remember that women have been valued purely for their ability to bare children FOR CENTURIES, and is still idolized today. I am begging people to see Stella for what she was in a political marriage: a womb. Nothing more. Yet no one gives a fuck, cuz misogynistic writing is so engraved that critical thinking goes flying out the window.

THIS THIS THIS! Like, people calling her his rapist when St*las has said "This marriage was for one purpose, to birth an heir" Which she had to bear the physical brunt of since shes the one who had to lay an egg (equiv of pregnancy). Pregnancy takes a physical toll on the body. Ever since being a child she was expected to be okay with being forced to get pregnant with the child of a man selected for her. Its incredibly fucked up and that plus the fact St*las has all the property rights since shes been booted out and the show has shown us he gets to keep his palace which means he still owns it atm, the marriage literally favors him in multiple ways. Its literally less harmful (still harmful, but less) towards him than her in terms of legality and the fact her side involved forced impregnation as well as forced sex to boot. Its just so fucking gross that the writing does not address any of that at all and given the historical precedence of women being property passed around for arranged marriages. I feel like I'm going nuts at the latest plotline where St*las is a poor baby for being expected to split more in the divorce, I get it wasn't fair and neither of them wanted the marriage in the first place but they're writing Stella as a villain for expecting more than just her clothes and possessions and to also get a home/place she gets to live in and own too. Like, who wrote this? Viv and co. or reddit misogynists who think we should go back to when women got nothing out of divorces?

And I'm so tired of all the people who come out of the woodwork like "But shes mean" "Maybe shes just mean" "Stop overthinking it" "Why are you against female villains?" "Women can be abusers too" They're so dense when it comes to this, I'm sorry but its a stupid response that misses the point. I have never had a problem with female abusers in other shows such as TOH's Odalia and I wouldn't mind at all if Stella was written as an abuser who is lashing out due to being upset at what shes been forced to do. No, the point when it comes to Stella and HB is that, isn't it insidious? WHY out of all the villains is the female victim of an arranged marriage with so little actual power that stands in the way of an m/m ship chosen to be the "Shes just mean because shes a bad person not because bad things happened to her" archetype? And why is she specifically written as stupid and needing her brother to be the actual plotting villain; why does she barely get to drive the plot and her own story? Ever since they added Andrealphus hes stolen her spotlight/point in the story and shes just vehicle for St*las and Andre's beef now. Seriously like THINK PEOPLE. We KNOW that m/m fanfiction and yaoi focused spaces etc tend to use these tropes in which women are jealous men obsessed scumbags for the sake of being plot devices with no real writing, for the sake of creating drama that serves the male characters stories. I'm tired of being told I'm overreacting for recognizing obvious repeating patterns. Like it or not our biases will inform how we think about and therefore write certain groups of people. When you add in that male characters as a whole get so much more fleshed out and focused upon in Helluva Boss, and that its other female characters frequently don't get to express sexuality/sexual desires, and that female HB characters are so often just "X's cool hot looking partner" with little else to them, add in all that and it starts to paint an extremely suspect and ugly picture.

Ok so Fizzarolli has some major daddy issues, and will do anything for a surugate father figure.

Let's poke at that abit.

While he sings about a mum and dad in 'look at this', they don't appear to have raised him. Maybe he's an orphan, because he doesn't sound upset at them. (So probably not abandoned or ran away to the circus).

He seems to have glommed onto Cash, who used that to work the kid like crazy, with multiple shows a day.

Both Cash and Mammon are without a doubt narcissists, who only see people as tools to be used.

It was great seeing Fizz, with the backup of his friend and lover, finally cut ties with Mammon,

But let's look at some of the reasons why Fizz was easier to manipulate into such a horrible working situation.

Ok out of the 3 circus kids Fizzarolli was the most talented, this would put him in the position of the golden child.

This isn't a good position, (no position with a narcissist is good), because all love and privileges from a narcissist are conditional.

So while they normally get less physical abuse; the kid has to be perfect. If they slip all love and affection is withdrawn.

This explains why he's so worried that Ozzie won't love him anymore if he doesn't win a competition Ozzie doesn't give a hoot about.

Problems former golden children often have are: lifelong anxiety issues, panic attacks, over competitiveness, as well as being people pleaser, and chronic over worker.

We can see that alot of these traits are already present in ickle teenage Fizz.

Instead of telling the creepy fan to big off, he's trying to appease him, while wrapping his tail around himself to self soothe. And need to relay on Blitz to get him out of the situation.

And unfortunately like with all childhood abuse it sets the person up for more abuse down the line.

This is because it feels familiar, and is hard to not assume that what you grew up with isn't just normal.

Especially when Fizz goes from one abusive boss, who is a pseudo father to another. This sets Fizzarolli up for worse abuse and being groomed. ( Along with Mammon does say he wants a kid to win the contest, and make sex bots of that underage kiddo. Flipping hell that dark even for helluva).

I really like the accurate look at different types of trauma that Helluva Boss does; and how it can be over come. 😀

It's awesome that when Fizz understands he has the backup, and a safe place with Ozzie that's not conditional, he can finally tell Mammon

Is it me, or is Vivziepop bad at writing romantic relationships? It feels like she wants to write "problematic", drama-filled romance where the characters start out toxic, there are misunderstandings, betrayals etc cuz the show is supposed to be about "problematic gays", and that's perfectly valid, but she can't write chemistry. So far, it feels like Blitzo clings to Stolas because he's afraid he will end up alone and unloved, but doesn't actually care for him as a person. He often looks uncomfortable with Stolas' flirting even if he reciprocates sometimes.

I've seen couples in children's media with much better written-relationships and chemistry, like Roxanne and Megamind. It's clear they enjoy each other's company, they have mutual banter and flirting and he respects her intelligence.

I know Stolitz is supposed to be "toxic" pre-character development but at this point it still sucks that so far, it's impossible to tell what the characters like about each other other than the sex.

(I've been told that Stolas enjoys how Blitzo made him laugh when they met during the circus but that's not been developed enough as a concept to count).

Yeah here's a thought: When has he made Stolas laugh during adulthood?! Where was that moment? What do they even have in common other than liking dudes?

Oh shit. I think I get why fans of this show accuse critics of being homophobic. It's because this relationship has literally no substance other than "they're gay". (Or Stolas might be, anyway. Their specific orientations are never clarified in the show that I can recall.) Oh, you don't like this mlm relationship? You must hate ALL mlm relationships. Funny how the fans are the ones fixated on that aspect while no one I've seen criticize the show has ever cited the homoerotica as evidence that this relationship sucks. No, it sucks because there's absolutely no depth to it. There's nothing to make us root for it to work.

Sure, the characters have their own personalities as individuals, and there's potential for chemistry in how those personalities and backgrounds oppose each other, but the show never explores it. What would happen if Stolas tried to fit into Blitzo's poverty-stricken school of hard knocks, or if Blitzo tried to fit in with high society? What if they just had a conversation about what life has been like for each of them? Where are the bonding moments that show us this is more than just a transactional arrangement (or at least that it could be)? What made Stolas suddenly fall in love with Blitzo offscreen between Episodes 6 and 7, after treating him like an object the entire season? Why the fuck does he care if Blitzo comes to see him in the hospital or not? Why should we care as viewers?

Funny enough, this neat video by LocalScriptMan just came out (check out this channel, seriously), and it talks about going deeper into writing relationships than just smashing two characters with differing personalities together. Again, differing personalities can create potential for chemistry (as each character learns new perspectives from the other), but a pairing of opposites isn't chemistry in and of itself.

If Helluva Boss's writers gave us a good mlm relationship with actual substance, more power to 'em! Maybe we'll get one with Asmodeus and Fizzarolli, but... ehh. It's doubtful at this point.

General Frustration With Helluva Boss

Sometimes, dealing with Vivziepop media is exhausting. One one hand, you have the violent irrational hateboner for anything and everything she's ever touched that a lot of people, especially on tumblr, have. It feels less born out of actual criticism and that weird flavor of "ouroboros snake eating it's own tail" cringe culture that a lot of people (mainly tumblr users) feel for anything that reminds them too much of their middle school selves. Like, ya'll picked Hazbin over South Park in the "worst cartoon ever" pole. South Park, the show that made antisemetism cool to hundreds of white tweens. That South Park. Yeah, that flavor of criticism is about as helpful or productive as bullying the kids in your local dead mall's Hot Topic.

On the other hand, you have the people who act like Viv and her team are incapable of wrongdoing and that any direction their projects going is the direct word of god and criticism of any aspect of either of her shows is a literal war crime.

I belong to neither camp because I enjoy my ability to critically think.

They're a long, LONG shot from perfect but there are things to like about both shows. Unfortunately, there's even more to criticize.

The Hazbin/Helluva fandom has a reputation for being childish, (often because a lot of them are actual children who have no business watching either show), whiny, and media illiterate. A creator can rarely if ever be blamed for the stupidity of certain members of their fanbase, though. Given the inane and frankly ridiculous misinterpretation of the character of Stolas by fans who are dead-set on viewing him through the most red-tinted "Ron the Death Eater" headass lenses, if I were a writer for Helluva I'd be tearing my damn hair out. But, sometimes, I wonder if Helluva's writing encourages the kind of dumbassery it's fans are prone to, mainly, with the latest short.

As soon as I saw the thumbnail, I knew what was coming. I tried to stay hopeful, I tried to think that Viv and her team wouldn't do this, but my expectations for this show are probably wayyyy higher than they should be.

The Helluva Shorts are Viv's little way of having her cake and eating it, too. With the plot of the full episodes being almost completely dedicated to more drawn-out character driven emotional beats, the shorts are allowed to maintain the monster-of-the-week mercenary assassination type plots, where I.M.P. has a target to kill and a specific goal to overcome for the episode. (Short 1 is an exception, and strangely the best out of all of them. It helps develop Millie's almost completely flat character and prioritizes her over the male characters she typically gets shafted for.) Short 3, Weeaboo-boo, is the weakest short by far, something even hardcore fans of the show would agree on.

To spare everyone the misfortune of having to watch it, let me summarize:

I.M.P.'s latest target is Emberlynn Pinkle, a twenty-something college student living at home with her parents. Her case file actually gave me some hope for this short, as the reason I.M.P.'s client wants her dead is over bullshit and inane shipping drama, something I sadly have experience with. I thought this short was going to critique the kind of nonsense the worst types of fans (like the ones outlined above) get up to, but instead, it just took one big look at fandom culture as a whole, and like a woman-hating redditor obsessed with powerscaling, decided to spit in it's face and call it a whore.

Emberlynn is portrayed as a sickeningly cliche charicature of female fandom, a horny loser burdening her parents, obsessed with sex, who writes dumb and lame fanfics about her dumb and lame self-insert oc. She feels like she was an attempt at a tounge-in-cheek little self-depreciating humor bit about fandom, but feels stale and mean-spirited.

She's a loser weirdo for being a monsterfucker, despite half the jokes in the show being about weird kinky sex. She's a horned-up creep for getting exited about being hunted by a demon and thinking he's here to have sex with her, despite that being THE LITERAL FIRST THING STOLAS DOES WHEN BLITZ BREAKS INTO HIS HOUSE, the only difference between him and Emberlynn being that Stolas has a tragic backstory, and is a man. Blitz kills her and sends her to hell, where she gets a sickass demon form I might add,

and is nothing more than a stalky, obsessive fangirl.

Do you ever wonder why creators hate their female fans?

We've already done this same song and dance with Supernatural, but I expected Vivzie, a woman herself who's made jokes about the kind of misogyny women in her field of work experience, to not treat female fandom with the same "icky girls ruin everything with their stupid horny bullshit" sentiment that the Japanese incels on 2chan who came up with the word fujoshi. But I expected too much from her I guess. How the fuck did The Amazing World of Gumball handle fanfic culture in a genuinely funnier and kinder way than she did!?

Viv is just doing what she does best, creating a female character with interesting potential and the teeniest weeniest bit of something resembling body diversity in her cast of stick figures, making her annoying, and letting her rabidly misogynistic fanbase trample all over her. She did it to Mimzy, and funnily enough, Emberlynn kinda looks like her.

This short sucked complete ass, and is just more proof that Viv sucks at writing female characters. I'm disappointed, she did Emberlynn and Mimzy so damn dirty.

And to the critics and haters, do NOT blame Vivziepop for signing a contract with Amazon Prime either.. as she had signed it before the whole thing with Irasel and Palestine had happened and I don't think Viv can legally unsign or discontinue her contract correct me if I'm wrong. /gen

If she can, then I suggest her to do it and give Hazbin Hotel to a different streaming company that doesn't support Irasel like Hulu.

My advice to those who still wanna watch Hazbin Hotel but wanna keep boyscotting, I can suggest using pirate sites like 'wcofun.tv', I use that to watch King of the Hill and Panty & Stocking with Gartenbelt once.

They have Hazbin Hotel there but I'm not sure if they'll have all the episodes though.. BUT for the fans who still wanna support Vivziepop but also wanna continue boyscotting Amazon, my advice is to follow her on patreon, continue watching Helluva Boss on her YouTube channel or even buy merch from SharkRobot.

I really feel like S1E8 signifies that Vivziepop cannot write a cohesive story with characters, arcs, world building, and an overarching narrative, she should have sticked to animated shorts or comics, something that’s just fluff and isn’t supposed to be deep. The more you watch the show, the more it feels one of those children short YouTube series that aren’t supposed to be full fledged shows, just filler shorts, like Lucas the Spider or Talking Tom and friends…series where like…there’s characters but not really a story going on you catch my drift?

I know I’m repeating myself but Helluva rarely feels like a show anymore, a show that’s supposed to be ongoing with depth and serialized, especially season 2. Nothing is of value and substance, the characters have become cardboard boxes at this point and are still underdeveloped, lacking nuance and time dedicated to them and their character dynamics/relationships to actually make them feel like 3 dimensional characters. The world they live in hasn’t affected the characters at all and is just an empty shell, and other than Stolas’s family drama, it feels like there’s no ongoing plot, or hell….a narrative at all. The plot to these episodes are just whatever the creator comes up with at the top of her head and the events of said episodes are forgotten about and rewritten later, while certain plot threads and “reoccurring” villain characters are left dangling for an unnecessary amount of time. Like…let me tell you I can NOT wait to see what Helluva Boss is like once Stolas’s family drama and Blitz’s past relationships drama is over, because that’s the only thing holding the show together right now, it’s the only thing closest to a narrative story going on. 💀

Viv and Adam are wrong. This isn’t a show where it all needs to be complete and finished in order to understand the story. There IS no story, they have no idea where the fuck the story is going lol, because like Viv has been saying, none of this was planned or mapped out. They come up with episode ideas (mainly filler stuff) and try to map around that, because Helluva is still mainly a filler show, despite trying to be both filler and overarching. It just works best as a one off show, if it was just a pointless filler show I wouldn’t be criticizing it so much, but it’s trying so hard to be big and grand and it can’t accomplish that due to it’s filler formula of going back to the status quo every episode, which is literally killing the show. I just…can’t lol, and I’m tired of fans acting like Viv is some brilliant genius writer who thought all of this up from the beginning and planned this when she herself admitted that she doesn’t and writes the story up as it goes, and it shows.

Hello its me again.

I have yet another thing to say before I disappear until October.

I am a huge fan of Sarcastic Chorus and his videos on Helluva Boss.

Here is the most recent video he made about Apology Tour and I have something to say about it.

While I agree on somethings, I also felt that we forget that this show is about Blitzø become a Helluva boss. Its about a guy who is a kind but due to trauma can’t see his worth in peoples lives and hates himself and thus destroys his relationships in the hope he saves others from himself. This season is about Blitz realizing he is so much more than a boss or an easy fuck. I think people get so stuck on who to blame rather than seeing the true dynamic between Stolas and Blitzo. Blitzø despite being a dick and being a hurt/broken person has shown how much he truly loves others and how others learn from him. His best quality is his ability to adapt also known as his  resilience. This man knows what its like to lose someone and everything in one go. He understands yet that doesn’t stop him from being something. He opened his own business. He became a father. He has friends who care about him even though he can’t see it and thinks he will die alone. Point is Blitzo greatest quality is that he is resilient and that is why people gravitate towards him.

This then leads me to this; I know some of you think this episode was a hate train on Blitz to make Stolas seem better but look deeper, this episode was about Blitzo and him being resilient. Stolas hasn’t reached his lowest yet, in fact I believe he won’t feel it until he loses Via who is symbolically being his reason for living. Via was Stolas reasoning for why he had to live and when Blitzo came back he gave me the realization that he could live for himself. Right now Stolas is doing that which is something we realize when we are children but again Stolas never got this development milestone occur till now. My point is that their relationship is a yin and yang a pull and push. Blitzo inspires Stolas to live life to the fullest while Stolas reminds him that he deserves to be loved unconditionally despite his flaws. Blitzo started the this by breaking into Stolas house and Stolas continued it by making the deal. Stolas ends the deal and Blitzo comes back. Stolas tries to better himself and Blitzo self destruct. Stolas “moves on” ( I say this loosely because Stolas is still obtuse and needs an episode where he comforts it which is basically Via centric episode. Also I have a theory that Ghost Fuckers is about confronting or destroying one’s reality and I think Via might be in it as a parallel to Blitzo facing his reality being destroyed and rewritten) and Blitzo lets him go. Blitzo is now going to change and Stolas is going to be stuck. Point is that they are two different side of the same coin and need each other. Blitzo inspires Stolas and Stolas loves and protects Blitzo. Something that both of them need in a partner. The important thing is that while Stolas got the ball rolling for change Blitzo is the one who will truly change first and this needs to happen because Stolas will be lost and will need someone who understand what it means to lose it all but most importantly how to rise above it.

In conclusion,

These two are meant to be and if you see it this way you will finally get why you shouldn’t pick sides.
