i'm suddenly thinking about rockstar!eddie shooting a music video on some naval ship and meeting actual sailor!steve who's all dressed up in his whites 'cause eddie's a big name star and the captain said everyone had to look their best and eddie immediately folding for the pretty guy in uniform

just: eddie wanting a couple of the guys to act in the video 'cause hopefully then they'd actually know what they're doing, and asking the capt to point out his most competent sailor. the capt immediately points out one of his low-ranking ensigns (like, brand new baby officer 'cause that's the kinda shit an officer would pull) and eddie, having been raised by wayne (who i'm hc-ing as a navy vet) knows better and is immediately like "No sir, I said your most competent, not your least. someone point me to THE second class. Where's he? I need an enlisted guy." and a higher-ranking chief that's been following the band around the ship all day bellows out a laugh and says "You're gonna want Harrington, Mr. Munson."

It's been so long since Saverio first met him outside Barovia, that it's great to see him within the Mists. this used to be a bit of a touchy subject cause some less than great phannies would stalk him in game many years ago which caused people who don't play it to assume everyone who did was doing it to follow dan around which like. oh my god i can't imagine anything worse. because yeah i've run into him a few times and it's TERRIFYING. i don't know why, it shouldn't be, i have every right to play the game and if we end up in the same place that's perfectly fine but it still feels like i'm breaking some sort of international law

usually i run in the opposite direction if i see him (which has only happened like twice to be fair) bc in my head he's gonna magically know the random player walking by is a phannie and strike me down, but one time i was in the lfg (looking for group) trying to find a squad doing daily bounties and one popped up so i joined and immediately after joining i saw the name of the commander (person leading the squad, which is an up to 50 player group) and Wow Guess Who. i really needed to do my dailies though so i was like what the fuck ever, lets go. thanks dan for the lead i guess. i got downed once during it and he revived me and we had the very thrilling exchange of 'ty' 'np :)' so i guess i can genuinely say danisnotonfire saved my life

i really struggle to describe it bc he's not. clueless. you know what i mean. like he's doing reports with denki and sero and one of them whistles and is like "damn would commit crimes for an ass like that" about someone walking by and i think he peeks, but !!!! is ultimately scowling at them and smacking them over the head with a rolled up piece of paper, like "grow the fuck up," !!!

and i think he does find some people like. generally attractive, and he's maybe even doing a once over, but he's not going up to them !!! for no reason !!! he's busy !! got shit to do !!!! and if they're coming up to him to ask something—anything; about the time or the weather or the hero top ten or even if he's single—he's so direct. no bullshit. no fluff. he's not making it easy for anyone LOL

YES! Sunshine boy is steadily making his way into the Hades AU!! He’s got his jetpack and a torn up poncho for dramatic effect (but no Wi-Fi antenna because I didn’t want to put it in his face 😅)

Why did I feel it necessary to add all these sketches to this one page? Because 1) I wanted to showcase how much I struggled on this one. It is just part of the drawing process. Like, Old Man Rex was a headache and a half but Cody still had him beat on the sketch somehow. And 2) because the solution to being stuck here turned out to be to switch my dark brown/desaturated purple to a red colour, scribble out the very very base of the pose (imagine blobs and swoopy lines and boxes) and then just keep chipping away at building the body and armor and whatever on top of it. (I think the sketch is still very red in the original file…)That had granted me a breakthrough with Rex as well, and now with Cody too… so I might as well remember this solution and spare myself the trouble with the next character ^^;

(Do I know what size a lightsaber actually is when it is held in only one hand? No. Am I willing to look it up properly? … not for the time being, no)
