gotta catch em all: persona 5 edition!
full disclosure, this au started as a joke.
so for the last two-three-ish weeks i've been playing with the idea of a pokemon au for the p5 cast, it's been living in my head rent free, and it's been developing with a speed i definitely was not expecting but am not about to question, and there is definitely an impending fic in the making. so i decided i'd try something new where i actually introduce an au on here before i start posting the fic itself to my ao3 and yes this is partially because my co-developer-slash-beta-reader-slash-best-friend has art pending for this. just gonna do brief introductions (as brief as i can manage anyways; proper character introductions are coming soon!) so without further ado, here we go :D
setup: this is obviously set in the world of pokemon; however it is not set in any particular region. this is partly because i wanted to keep my options open when selecting pokemon for the main cast. in addition, the main cast have been aged up to college age, with the pts in the 20-23 range (as of right now akira will be 22 and the rest will be adjusted around that). pokemon journeys begin around 17 or 18 and there's not as much pressure to start a journey as soon as you're old enough, which is why akira is only just starting his. non-thief confidants will be making appearances, though most will be only minor. also, morgana is not a pokemon - he is still a cat, and he can still talk. this will be explained much much later. for now here's the main cast:
akira: the one on a journey! he lives with sojiro, who runs a pokemon cafe in a small town, and futaba, his little sister in all but blood. he likes to run a mixed-type team and calls home often
ryuji: trainer who specializes in electric types! he was supposed to start his journey right at eighteen but wasn't able to due to his leg injury. he grew up with his yamper, which evolved into a boltund a few months into ryuji's recovery; the boltund is his best friend
ann: fierce fire type trainer who loves to travel! she's in a long distance relationship with shiho, who lives in a neighboring city. her starter pokemon was fennekin, which sparked her love for fire types; she's very protective of all her pokemon
yusuke: ice type trainer whose real passion isn't pokemon battles but pokemon art! he has a goal to paint every pokemon, and he's slowly working his way through every one he can find, starting with his beloved frosmoth. but he can't explore the world just yet....
makoto: the youngest steel type gym leader in her city's history! at only twenty, she was able to beat out several older candidates for the position of gym leader through her sheer skill and her coordination with her pokemon. her skarmory is a force to be feared
futaba: a young intern whose mother was a pokemon researcher! she mainly works remotely from her dad's cafe, but she's dead set on someday being able to visit her mother's lab. she's great with pokemon, with her umbreon providing comfort from darkness
haru: unwilling but skilled psychic type gym leader! her father used to run the gym and insisted she take his place when he retired, and she's plenty suited to the task. but she has other interests and plans for her future that only gothitelle and her other pokemon know....
goro: dark type gym leader who is rarely at the gym! he wants to run the gym, but an organization beyond his control is set on wresting control of the gym from him. they can't get control without defeating him, though, so he and his corviknight are on quite the trip
sumire: the trainer with an uncertain path! her sister once ran a grass-type gym in their city, but she's been in a coma for months. she's not sure how to move forward. fortunately for her, mimikyu found her at her lowest and could help her choose a future....
i'm really looking forward to posting this au, both in the form of actual fic on ao3 and fleshing out the details here on tumblr! i've got big plans for the story, which is shocking for someone who struggles with plot so often, so i think this'll be a fun experience. can't wait to share more :3

SangYao Fluff and Stuff Ideas, Part Three
I saw a Pokemon AU illustration that had Meng Yao being befriended by a lone Ditto, and let me also submit that he ends up with a Mimikyu, a Trubbish, a Cubone, a Yamask (that may or may not have been spawned from his mother's death). He also somehow befriends a Luxray, which people are suspicious of because it seems far too elegant for him.
Anyway, he meets Huaisang when he finds the other boy cheerfully petting the Trubbish without being grossed out at all.
It's weird. People don’t do that.
Then he sees a Crobat and a Swoobat among the flock of bird pokemon surrounding Huaisang and oh, now he understands.
---------------
San-zun and Sang Fusion AU!
Nobody expects the SangYao (romantic) pairing to be as stable as it is, except for the two of them.
They’re surprised by the stability of the Nie Bro fusion, too.
NieLan (also romantic) is a little wobbly, but can hold.
XiYao unfuse almost immediately because Jin Guangyao absolutely does not want Lan Xichen to know his thoughts.
NieYao unfuse almost immediately because of mutual animosity (and the same problem as above).
XiSang is extremely wobbly and awkward and eventually falls apart in about half an hour.
San-zun is a ✨glorious mess✨ before falling apart after forty-five seconds, but when they add Huaisang to the mix, they surprisingly manage to keep together for about ten minutes before destabilizing.
---------------
Assassins and spies au, with Huaisang seeking to root out and kill an enemy spymaster and Meng Yao trying to track down and eliminate an enemy assassin.
Huaisang wanted a normal childhood growing up, but when a murder attempt leaves their father dead and Mingjue in a coma, his mothers and the other heads of the family begin training him to keep his older brother alive at all costs.
And that includes "waste disposal."
On the other side, Meng Yao has been "hired" (read: indentured) by his politician father with the safety of his mother hanging over his head.
His father wants him to use that impeccable memory and sharp organizational skills to find out who's been killing all the operatives and lowlives sent to wipe out any obstacles to his ambitions.
Neither of them knows who the other is, and when they first cross paths, it's in a completely neutral setting at a charity gala.
Meng Yao can tell there's more to Huaisang than the airheaded bit of fluff his father described, and Huaisang can tell that Meng Yao is doing a lot more than just keeping the party going.
But they like that about each other.
(And now the game of Tag starts.)
Meng Yao quickly figures out that, in direct opposition to his father's beliefs, there is only one person behind the kills, and they've managed to make it look like more by varying their methods and staying out of camera sight.
He's actually somewhat impressed.
Huaisang notices when the attempts on his brother and his brother's friends become much more organized. Detailed. Someone's actually putting effort into these plans now, not just going for the first opportunity.
If it weren't for the threat to his brother, it would be thrilling.
They want to find each other.
And maybe not just for the sake of their positions.
It's been a long time since either of them has had fun.
---------------
Timeline where Meng Yao never made it back to Yunping after being rejected by his father because he got snapped up in a Wen border raid.
He manages to impress the local captain enough to be assigned work instead of killed, and eventually winds up in the palace where he catches the attention of no less than Wen Ruohan, who, like in canon, has him start designing torture implements. He doesn't necessarily enjoy it, but a job's a job and he does it well.
At some point, there is an influx of prisoners, meaning Wen Ruohan has started to make good on his threat to consolidate power, but that's none of Meng Yao's business. He builds things and takes notes on whether or not there's any useful information to be gleaned from the screaming, that's all.
Then one day Wen Ruohan offhandedly tells him that in appreciation for all his hard work, there's a gift waiting for him in his room.
...
That sounds sus.
Meng Yao braces himself for whatever he might find, but still nearly has a heart attack when he pushes open his door to find a half-conscious young man about his size and in the colors of the Nie sect tied to one of his bedposts.
---------------
Hanahaki au where Meng Yao tells Nie Huaisang that once he's been recognized and their stations aren't so different, then it will be safe to have a relationship, and whether true or a lie, this is enough to quell the flowers.
And then months after Meng Yao has left, he begins coughing them up again.
Oh.
When the war has ended and he sees Qin Su at the victory banquet, sees the way they look at each other, Nie Huaisang has never felt more like an idiot in his life.
He quietly excuses himself to bed, ignoring his brother's look of concern, and after spending the whole night choking up peonies, he sends a letter to the only surgeon in Qinghe qualified to remove the roots, asking for the first available opening.
Some would call it cowardice, but he doesn't care. He has no desire to be a homewrecker, nor die for someone who's happy with another.
Better to forget.
Nie Huaisang demands (begs) that Da-ge not hold a grudge on his behalf because he's seen how Nie Mingjue's relationship with Jin Guangyao is on thin ice and he doesn't want to be a catalyst.
Nie Mingjue agrees not to pick fights about it, but that doesn't mean he forgives. In his mind, his baby brother needlessly suffered for a broken promise.
Years later, as he is coughing up blood from Shoyue buried in his chest, Jin Guangyao looks past Lan Xichen into Nie Huaisang’s expression of cold fury and remembers a terrified boy trying to stammer out a confession through tears and the flowers and blood spilling from his mouth.
Oh.
(How ironic that had Nie Huaisang not given up the flowers and memories, he might have hesitated. But because Jin Guangyao was only a friendly acquaintance, not the love of his life, he threw himself wholeheartedly into revenge.)
When he's finally slotted back into reincarnation, JGY is cursed to inevitably remember that first lifetime. Over the centuries, he occasionally runs into the others, just enough times to be aware that he's the only one who remembers.
But he never once crosses paths with the Nies until his 12th life, after he has already wandered far away from Langya.
He sees Nie Mingjue first, a teenager of about 15 and already as tall as him. Expecting a very small Nie Huaisang to follow, he is stunned to see a young man instead.
(The interruption to the cycle caused them to switch places)
This Nie Huaisang is 21 to Jin Guangyao's 19 and his brother's 15, and he's just as pretty as Jin Guangyao remembers.
His chest tightens painfully and his throat locks up. Quickly making his escape to a bathroom, he coughs a handful of mulberry flowers.
Oh.
Oh shit.
(But this time, they'll get the happy ending. He knows better now.)
---------------
Nie Mingjue's murder/the Jin sect having demonic cultivator grad students hiding among them gets discovered early (before Nie Huaisang would have found it out by himself) and it turns out that because Jin Guangyao and Mo Xuanyu always knew their father would throw them under the bus, they worked very hard to keep their stories consistent so that that neither would accidentally incriminate them both.
Between the two of them, they manage to convince Nie Huaisang and the rest of the jianghu that they weren't that involved, and what they did do (like the body theft) was at the coercive demands of their father, whose history of very public derision and abuse of them both only makes him look worse.
Huaisang is still broken hearted and angry and scared, but now has both brothers directing him to a more obvious target
There were plenty of witnesses who saw him cradling his brother's ward-bound head in agonizing grief, his tragic ingenue image is imprinted on the jianghu, so nobody argues when Jin Guangshan is warded into a house in exile.
And when he turns up dead months later (after Jin Guangyao so very gently offering the metaphorical knife to Nie Huaisang and framing it as a way for all of them to heal from what Jin Guangshan put them through), pretty much everyone shrugs and says he deserved it.
While Nie Huaisang hasn't necessarily forgiven them, The Jinsibs’ very earnest promises to start making amends by helping him search for the pieces of his brother (Mo Xuanyu genuinely doesn't know where they were hidden and will be the one actually going out searching, so that adds to the authenticity) saves them from the brunt of his wrath.
The only thing left for Nie Huaisang is to put his brother back to rest, and he can't even really participate in that until all the pieces are found since he has to stay close to the "collection" because he's the only person Nie Mingjue is guaranteed not to attack.
He's stuck in this hazy cycle of grief and purpose with only his husband and the occasional intervention of Lan Xichen or Mo Xuanyu's return visits to keep him from shattering completely.

verses updated!
🦊volo | 🔹adaman | 👑leon
changes to existing verses is limited to basically just some wording. new verses are below the cut to keep things nice and tidy for everyone's dashes. Added quite a few verses to Leon! :D
👑Missing Person's Case👑 Major canon divergence
Content warnings for abuse, exploitation, anxiety, depression, loss of identity, burnout, and minor horror themes
Verse with @fightful
After the Darkest Day and after having the lost championship, Rose has been arrested and Leon has been left the remains of the company. He wants nothing to do with it, and begins to work with the Gym Leaders about dividing the company assets and abilities between all of them equally. Leon just wants a quiet life after it all, he wants nothing to do with the corporate life. But in the middle of legal proceedings to begin dissolving the company, Hop has gone missing. Leon drops everything to try and find his brother, but when his own efforts turn up nothing, he's forced to turn to others for help. Never before in his life did he imagine himself walking into a PI's office, pleading for help.
👑zombie apocalypse👑 Major canon divergence
Content warnings for abuse, exploitation, anxiety, depression, loss of identity, burnout, horror themes, gore, violence, blood
Based loosely on the start of the Walking Dead but that's about it
The last thing Leon remembered was Eternatus. After that, it was just a sea of distant voices, beeping machinery. And when he woke up, silence. Where was everyone? Leon's a stranger in the new world, lost and confused and scared. He has his Pokemon, but no clue where his family or friends are or what happened. The whole world changed during his coma after the Eternatus fight, and all he can do is move forward in hopes of finding his footing in this new landscape. Maybe even make some new friends along the way and do some good.
👑vampire hunter au👑 Major canon divergence
Content warnings for abuse, exploitation, anxiety, depression, loss of identity, burnout, horror themes, gore, violence, blood
Can work with any type of vampires, including subwaybat's vampire au and regular old vampires
It's been an age old tradition in Galar: Gym Leaders and the Champion are trained to kill and hunt vampires. They don't show mercy, and even their Pokemon are expected to toughen up and face down life and death for the sake of their trainers. Leon has been Champion since he was ten, killing monsters since before he even knew who he wanted to be as a person. He's had to keep a brave face on through it all, working day in and day out bouncing between hunting monsters and being the smiling face for Galar and the Chairman. He's never known peace. He never gets a break. But he's not heartless: killing is never the first choice for him. His heart is too big for that and even when he has to kill his heart breaks and bleeds for them. Gym Season is the worst six months of the year though. That's the only time when hunting falls squarely on his shoulders, the Gym leaders far too busy with people challenging them to have the time or energy to hunt. And there's only so much one man can do.
👑ghost hunters au👑
Content warnings for abuse, exploitation, anxiety, depression, loss of identity, burnout, horror themes, possible violence, blood
a no pokemon verse
"Is the camera on?" "Oh, shoot, it is-- ah-- hi! This is Leon--" "--And Raihan!" "--And we're here at the abandoned manor outside of Celestic Town in the lovely Sinnoh region!" Leon always had an adventurous streak, and what better occupation than ghost and cryptid hunter for his friend Raihan's Youtube channel? Sometimes they collaborate, but a lot of the time Leon goes off and does things on his own and lets Raihan handle the editing and uploading since Leon can't navigate the editing software to save his life. Most of the time all he finds is dirty old buildings. But sometimes, there's something he can't explain.

i like rs but whats the deal with celebi at the end? i feel like it wasnt really necessary and just weakened the ending
It doesn't bug me much. My beef with how the aftermath of RS was handled is in the arcs that follow it: The fact that the emerald arc doesn't even touch on the trauma these characters experienced during a literal apocalypse is annoying, but I think Celebi works well for several reasons.
First, Ruby having Celebi is foreshadowed from the very beginning, when he uses it to defeat Seviper in Sapph's secret base. Second, Kyogre and Groudon destroyed basically all of Hoenn. There's a narrative reason for this, since it took everything being destroyed for Ruby to get his act together, and only once everyone is either dead or injured and he's the last trainer standing does he give his beauty speech. Ruby always runs from his problems so there had to be nothing left for him to finally face himself, and after he finally comletes his character arc he's rewarded with a second chance from a mythical time pokemon and things are reset. So in terms of the narrative, I think it works pretty well.
Lastly, Celebi being one of Ruby's pokemon makes sense, especially if you consider my bad timeline theory, which I've talked about before. (I should mention that the bad timeline gets ruined by the Zinnia's Salamence reveal, though a lot of RS gets ruined by that retcon. Ruby caused Rayquaza to escape, that's the whole point and I dislike ORAS specifically because of this, but I'll die mad about it I guess.)
Basically, the idea of the Bad Timeline theory is that Rayquaza was never "supposed" to escape and thus the events of RS weren't never meant to happen. Ruby saving Sapphire was what set them onto the bad timeline, because Rayquaza escaped. Without Rayquaza, they never made the Jade Orb and thus couldn't stop Kyogre and Groudon until long after they awoke. Ruby's personality change, Norman leaving and becoming abusive, etc are all things that weren't meant to happen.
After that, everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong: Ruby ran away from home and Norman had to find a different child to summon Rayquaza with; Sapphire barely missed Steven in Dewford to give him the letter; the blind kid couldnt decipher the tablet; President Stone went into a coma, etc etc. The people of Hoenn knew the disaster was coming for years and had so many failsafes in place to stop/mitigate it, and we watch as every single one of them fails. It's impossible to name them all: Liza and Tate were guarding the orbs, but Blaize tricked them; the gym leaders called a meeting to discuss things, but couldn't agree on anything; Steven was going to seal off the seafloor cavern but the submarine got stolen, and even their plan to keep the deep sea component separate from the submarine to prevent it from being used against them failed. RS has this underlying feeling of fate and predetermination, like watching a set of dominos fall, and things weren't supposed to happen this way.
Even Ruby and Sapphire copying each other and lacking vulnerability because of their Salamence trauma wasn't supposed to happen in the "good" timeline. Canonically, Ruby was going to be introduced to Sapphire as the girl he knew at his birthday dinner if only he had waited a few more hours that day, but he ran away because of--you guessed it--trauma he gained by Rayquaza's escape. Everything in RS is a set of dominos leading to the worst possible outcome. It makes RS into sort of a tragedy and I love that.
And Celebi, being a guardian with time powers, saw where the timeline was heading once Rayquaza escaped, and decided to go with Ruby, who caused the timeline change and is now wrapped up in it, to fix it, which he does after completing his character arc.
I adore the Bad Timeline interpretation, but even without it I don't mind the celebi reveal. There are ways to deal with the aftermath of RS without keeping the absolute destruction and three deaths, but the problem is that Kusaka doesn't do that either. The experience that the gym leaders and dexholders went through is never explored and is treated as no big deal, not something that would definitely change these characters and all of Hoenn forever. Ruby is handled well after RS, but all of the other aftermath isn't. My beef is more with the emerald arc, not the Celebi reveal tbh

how far are you into BNHA?
just curious when I saw your reblog earlier!
I've been out of the loop for quite a while but I'm still follow from the sidelines a little.
Last I saw, Crunchyroll had a few episodes of the BNHA Season 7 sub but none in English yet. That was a few weeks ago. Since then, I've been watching Jujutsu Kaisen (am on S.1 E.19) and won't watch anything else until I'm done with it. I'm also looking forward to the next season of Demon Slayer coming out this month.
I've watched everything BNHA out including the movies and one shots (loved the Mr. Smiley one and got a chill from what happened in the one where Shoto gets triggered by a treadmill in an abandoned building, and what the viewer thinks happens after). With the manga, I've only skimmed sections of characters I'm interested in. IE: Saw what happened to Dabi and Skeptic but didn't read most of the endless Shigaraki battle.
As always, I'm fixating on specific characters and will post them to death. I thought I'd be over Dabiten by now, but then I had to go and find that Japanese artist who did a hundred or so beautiful comic panels about the ship, and now I'll end up laboriously trying to translate it all based on emotions and awkward Google lens translations. The two complement each other in a sweetly sad way, like Geten could have eased the agony of Dabi's existence which would eventually make him forget out his grudge. Instead, Geten ends up rotting in prison while Dabi.....well.
I'm assuming Dabi is dead based on how he was last seen in the manga, but maybe there's hope for him because he has always been dubiously alive. He's a guy whose villain name means 'cremation' because he was burned so badly by his own quirk he ended up in a coma for three years, then wasn't expected to live longer than a month after he woke up. Supposedly, his hatred and longing for revenge gave him life.
In that way, Dabi reminds me of a human version of the pokemon Ceruledge, a fire/ghost type called the blue flame arm-blade pokemon who 'wears the malicious armor of a grudge bearing soul'. Pokemon has a way of making adorable chibified versions of beings out of a horror movie. Ceruledge is a similar horror to the 108 tormented souls of spiritomb, or all the child-snatching soul eating 'mons, such as drifloon, litwick, palossand, etc. Dabi is a good parallel representation of the idea of ceruledge.
Another fun ceruledge fact is it's one of the pokemon that 'un-alives' itself at its peak evolution. Other examples of this would be alolan marowak, decidueye, froslass, shedninja, hisuian typhlosion, basculegion, skeledirge, and annihilape. Many ghost pokemon are ghosts or possessed objects, but all the 'un-alived' 'mons are undead creatures resembling ghouls, zombies or vampires.

Fanon Hot Takes(tm) - Part 2
Part 1
Hello, we’re back at it with more Fanon Hot Takes(tm)!
Disclaimer: Everything stated here is my own personal opinion.  If you disagree, I’m not going to hold it against you!  It’s perfectly fine to disagree with me on these things.  Variety is the spice of life, after all.
Tumblr media
#1- Falco is from Zoness
This fanon take stems from Falco’s dialogue in Star Fox 64.  Upon arriving at the level, Falco expresses utter contempt at Andross for polluting Zoness, leaving some to speculate that Falco might actually be from there.  The addition of Katt, a figure from his past, also being present has been used to support this theory.
My hot take: I like this one.  I can see why people would use it as it adds a bit more to Falco’s otherwise enigmatic backstory.  One of my biggest gripes with the SF series is that it feels like the bulk of the cast is either from Corneria or Venom and I like the idea of having the cast be from various parts of the Lylat System.  I think that adds to their joint effort of trying to stop the Venomian invasion especially!
I will say that I don’t agree with the notion that Falco’s SF64 lines confirm he’s from Zoness.   Is it possible that he’s from Zoness?  Yes.  Confirmed?  No.  But that’s why it’s on my fanon list!
Personally, I don’t use this fanon headcanon but that’s mostly because by the time I had even heard about this theory, I had already solidified my headcanons pretty firmly and once a headcanon is solidified in my mind, there’s almost no changing it.  I COULD see Nintendo making this canon in the future, for what it’s worth, if they ever decided to explore the series and go deeper with the lore.
Tumblr media
#2 - Out of This Dimension is Fox hallucinating
I feel like video game theories really went a dark direction for a long time (”Ash from Pokemon is in a coma”, the extremely popular “Squall is Dead” theory, etc).  This fanon theory is more of a theory that’s talked about and not so much referenced in fanworks because ahaha... it’s kind of grim?  The entire theory basically states that the Out of This Dimension end for Star Fox for the SNES (the OG Starwing) is the result of Fox dying after ramming his Arwing into an object mid-flight in the Asteroid belt.  The object in question is actually an incredibly large, space-faring bird, which is necessary to hit in order to access this area.
Pretty much the theory is that everything in this area is a hallucination Fox is seeing as he’s losing oxygen and slowly dying.  At the start of the level, General Pepper demands to know where Fox is because he needs to protect Corneria.  The level then starts with no answer given back to the General.  Fox is teleported to a strange place with planets/meteors with faces and a large slot machine boss.  The level is additionally never-ending.  In order to leave the never-ending level, the player has to die or reset their game.
My hot take: I don’t personally know how I feel on this one for a few reasons.  I think that it’s far more likely the route was included as an easter egg or a secret for players to uncover rather than having a lore-related reason for existing.  Old games like SF were riddled with little hidden things for players to find so it wouldn’t surprise me if they just threw it in for laughs.
Now that being said, there’s merit for this theory.  If you watch the footage of the level being unlocked, it... DOES seem like Fox crashes his Arwing when he hits the bird.  And the bizarre sequence of events afterwards just doesn’t really point towards anything else...?
Naturally, one might assume that Fox has somehow stumbled upon a portal to the other dimension similar to what happened to his father... but the Black Hole being its own, different level on the map really drives it home that no, this is actually not the same.
So... yeah, I can really see why people believe this theory.
But I’m not entirely sure I believe that was the intention of this level.  On one hand, Nintendo has slid in some unnerving things into their games before (I’m looking at you, Majora’s Mask) but that doesn’t necessarily mean every creepy thing that they put into their games has a reason for it.  It could just exist because “haha funny space furry arcade game”.  Or... maybe Argonaut wanted to throw in a dark easter egg for players.  Who knows, really!
~Alt Sub-Theory Alert!~
A rare off-shoot theory has appeared!  This theory takes the idea of the above theory but adds a different spin.  In this theory, it pretty much says that Star Fox is trying to speed to Venom in order to defeat Andross so they basically took a Lylatian type of Speed (as in... the drug) in order to get there.  Apparently this is derived from an actual event that happened in the real world where pilots used drugs in order to fly an incredibly long distance in order to get to their destination.  The sights in Out of This Dimension are part of a drug trip, according to this theory.
My hot take: I can absolutely see this happening in the real world.  But in Star Fox?  It rings a bit similar to the leg amputation theory, in my opinion-- grit without the need for grit.  I don’t think it’s as likely as the hallucination theory.  There’s not really much merit for this theory other than just drawing general comparisons to something that happened in real life and... while it COULD be true, I just think that there would have to be slightly more evidence for me to buy into it personally.  It does, however, still feel a bit too dark for the series.  Additionally, it feels slightly less plausible than the original version of this theory, where Fox is dying.  For starters, it doesn’t really explain having to ram into the large bird in order to access the route and it doesn’t really explain the endless nature of the secret route.  So, despite being kind of interesting with some precedent in the real world, I’m gonna have to say that I don’t agree with this one.  Sorry!
Tumblr media
#3 The CloudRunner at Dragon Rock is Named Kyte
All right so.  This one involves delving into Dinosaur Planet lore and I’ve previously done a post on this but I wanted to talk about it yet again because it’s super prevalent in Star Fox fanfiction especially.  In case you aren’t familiar with the Dinosaur Planet side of things, the game was supposed to feature two playable characters (Krystal and Sabre originally then Krystal and Fox later on) with each character having a side kick.  Sabre/Fox had Tricky and Krystal had a CloudRunner named Kyte, who was the princess of her tribe and also quite young, like Tricky.  Kyte was originally going to be rescued in the opening of the game from General Scales.  She would have been found in a small birdcage aboard the Galleon’s deck.  However, Kyte was eventually scrapped and Krystal’s role was incredibly diminished.  Kyte’s model, a green young CloudRunner, was swapped out for a regular orange CloudRunner which was still placed where she ought to have been.  This baby CloudRunner teaches the player one or two things about the controls and serves no function otherwise. In case you’re unsure of what CloudRunner baby I’m referring to, here is a picture of said CloudRunner:
Tumblr media
However, the name Kyte was adopted by fans and given to the one prominent CloudRunner that Fox and Krystal both interact with during the game.  This is the CloudRunner that takes Krystal to Krazoa Palace in the opening and also the CloudRunner that is imprisoned at Dragon Rock.  I think this name really came from people knowing there was a CloudRunner Sidekick in the early days of not knowing much about Dinosaur Planet (back when we had maybe like 4 blurry screenshots and some concept art and that was all) and wanting to attribute the name to a character.  Because there’s a lot of Star Fox Adventures fan-rewrites out there, I can see why this happened.  The game doesn’t exactly do much to provide names for most of its characters and translating that into fics is especially difficult.  Thus the most prominent unnamed CloudRunner sort of ended up inheriting the name of a character he definitely was not... at any point in development.
My hot take: It feels a bit bad to call this CloudRunner Kyte when the actual Kyte still exists as a super minor, nameless NPC but I don’t really fault people for it.  Naming things that feel within the flow of the universe can be difficult and I can appreciate people trying to slip in the name as a homage to the cut character.  I think given the gaps that exist because of Adventures going through such a troubled development, it’s perfectly fine to utilize stuff from Dinosaur Planet.  I mean, especially after the ROM leak, there’s just such a treasure trove of good ideas to play with.
However, personally, I don’t adhere to this fanon because I would like to think that a Princess Kyte still exists somewhere in the universe-- maybe even just as one of the CloudRunner babies that are saved in the CloudRunner Fortress. Though her character was taken out of the game, the potential for her character existing was not.  Personally, I hope for any remake of Adventures to include Princess Kyte properly, though I know that the likelihood of a remake is pretty low.  But one can still dream!
That is all of the fanon hot takes I have for this post.  I think keeping them 3 to a post is probably for a best so they don’t get overly-wordy.  Next edition will either be a special on Krystal or some more miscellaneous stuff.  I feel like the Krystal one is going to be very long and very spicy for what that’s worth.  There’s... a lot of fanon around her, some of which I’ve been dying to discuss.
Thanks for reading!

Conversation
Jeremy: Dude. That's the thing. Do you know how many... There must be so many dead ten year olds in the pokemon universe.
Matt: Oh. For sure. Your character is an outlier.
Jeremy: 'Cause, like, Ash dodged death so many times. Like, bumped into a Beedrill tree and they all chased after him with... goddamn two foot needles on their arms. That's, like, you're dead.
Lindsay: He'd get his arm ripped off by a Primape or something.
Matt: That's the theory, Jeremy, that he didn't. He didn't doge death. He died, like, immediately. And he's just in a coma.
Jeremy: Like, the Spearows killed him?
Matt: No. Pikachu did.
Jeremy: Pikachu killed him. Just shocked him in the beginning and he died.
Matt: Pikachu just electrocuted him right away.
Lindsay: The whole thing is just a dream.
Matt: I mean, imagine him not even making it out of the lab. It's like, "you can have Pikachu" and he gets electrocuted and Oak's like "oh, God. I have to tell Dalia."
Jeremy: Maybe he was reincarnated. Ho-Oh can do that, and he saw Ho-Oh.
Matt: That's true, but he saw Ho-Oh well after he got electrocuted by Pikachu.
Jack: What the hell are you guys talking about?

Reguriweek 3: alternative universes (Disney princess/fairytale AU) It began as a dumb shitpost and so, there we are, I switch two themes of the week hehe. Ok so, the full (dumb) story. Blue lives in a cruel home where is family is mistreating him. Like, his sister wants him to do stuff and his grandpa tells him to not say “You’re smelly” to people. The tragedy. He runs away in the forest, and complain a lot cause the forest fucking sucks. Some pokemon end up being annoyed and want to guide him out just to get rid of him, but they end up liking him cause he gives very good ear scratches. They eventually take him to a home in a clearing, that is empty and very, very messy. “That place is worst than my room that’s fucking crazy!” And he begins to tidy up a bit with the help of the pokemon. He falls asleep like a log on the sofa after that. Turns out the home belongs to seven small kids: Gold, Silver, Kris, Lyra, Chase, Trace, Elaine. When Blue wakes up surrounded by kids he’s like “HEY what do you mean you live alone here in the forest without parents? You need someone to take care of you!” and he stays there with them. Everyone is happy and life is a mess whith Blue constantly chasing kids to make them wear scarves and wash their hands and DON’T PUT THAT IN YOUR MOUTH- Until Blue ends up trying to take a bite out of an applin, and another plant pokemon protects it by throwing sleep powder at him. Turns out he’s super allergic to that and ends up in a coma cold as a stone. The kids panic and think he’s dead, but Silver and Krys (who share the only braincell of the family) go to find the mountain hermit nearby to see if he can help cause he’s good with plants and all. By the time they come back with Red the red ridding hood scruffy silent hermit, the other kids are going to burry Blue “DON’T BURRY HIM you dumbasses he’s not dead- GOLD put this shovel down goddammit!” And so Red revives Blue with the power of true love with a magic epipen and a bit of mouth to mouth that the kids insist was a romantic kiss. Blue wakes up and thinks that guy is super hot and insist that he still feels very very sick and needs someone to take care of him for a while. “Taking care of so much kids alone is so hard... -You’re the one who decided to sta- -Shut up Chase, go clean your room! -Aw...” So Red stays for a bit, and it’s a bit overwhelming but funny, and he comes back after that sometimes, to see Blue and the kids. Until one day he marries him and they raise the kids together, the end. I’m already shitting on my sleep schedule, so sad I wanted to draw the kids doing shenanigans, like everyone forcing Silver into an extended haircare and braiding his hair with ribbons like that poor dwarf in snow white. Thanks to @red-sterling and @geneseedraws for making this bullshit up with me! Genesee bullied me into adding a kiss cause she’s a softie >:D

Mun, There's this Kingdom Hearts theory about Sora's adventure that he went through was all in his head. The video is made by Hmk. Look up Kingdom Hearts theory it's all in Sora's head. This theory is pretty sad.
I don't follow that youtuber so I'm not sure which video you're talking about? I tried to look up but I'm not sure which one you're referring to sorry
However, this theory exist since KH1 so I still can comment on it─
I don't believe it, not nowadays at least
It was working in KH1 because of the secret cave with all the drawings that was showing what we would experience, not happened yet (still quite a mystery today in a sense) and the elements in Sora's bedroom
However, nowadays, I think it's way too late to even consider it as a possibility
Since KH1 we got no real clue of it (if we count out Verum Rex)
It's still a fun theory though, just as much as Ash from Pokemon be in a coma and "it's all in his head" for Walking Dead

FINALLY FINISHED NARUTO AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Honestly, and this might sound harsh, but I think I give the series overall a 6/10. Being generous, I’d say it’s maybe a 7/10, but I’m deducting one point because I’m almost positive the only reason I’d rate it that high is because despite all it’s flaws, after watching 720 episodes across two series and 10 movies, you’re just going to be attached to the characters and show regardless of how you feel about it.
I know it’s super popular, or was anyways, and I can absolutely see why, but there were just too many issues that bothered me personally. It’s frustrating because I want to like it, I really do. There’s so many elements at work here that are so just perfectly me that it’s almost weird that I don’t like it, but I don’t. Obviously I liked it enough to spend hours upon hours watching it, but I think I just kept expecting it to get better at some point, and that point never happened.
More about my issues with it below...
I don’t know how to frame this (I never do) so it’s mostly just off the cuff.
I’ll start with the easily dismissible criticisms, the movies. Obviously all but one of the movies are non-canon (and I’ll get to the canon one shortly...), and they’re made by other studios so it’s not entirely fair to criticize the series based on them. I’m far too used to this weird format from Pokemon and their non-canon movies, so it wasn’t a huge deal to me. I will say that, much like the Pokemon films, almost all of the Naruto films followed the same exact format: Naruto goes to a location we’ve never heard of before and will never hear of again and is forced to protect someone abrasive and annoying until the enemy is defeated and they become BFFs that we’ll never see or hear from again.
I’d say, in order from best to worst:
Road to Ninja - Naruto the Movie
Naruto the Movie 2: Legend of the Stone of Gelel
Naruto Shippuden: The Movie 3: Inheritors of the Will of Fire
Naruto Shippuden: The Movie - Bonds
Naruto Shippuden: The Lost Tower
Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow
Naruto Shippuden: The Movie
Naruto the Movie 3: Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom
Naruto Shippuden the Movie: Blood Prison
The Last: Naruto the Movie
Yes, you read that right. The one canonical movie I put in dead last. Originally I thought that position was reserved for Blood Prison, which offended me because of just how utterly contrived the plot was and how out of character everyone needed to act to get it moving. But somehow, The Last took last place because of just how bad of a movie it was that for some reason has the audacity to be canon. And look, I know why it’s canon. It’s where Naruto and Hinata ‘officially’ get together and it ‘explains’ some missing plot elements from the series (more on that...), so of course it’s canon.
But come the fuck on, the last movie in the franchise, the one canonical movie, the one that may or may not take place after the Great Shinobi War, I.E. the big final battle of the series, has Naruto going into the fucking hollow earth through a cave portal that takes him to the moon, which is falling because the man on the moon is an incel and hates earth? What kind of methamphetamines were the writers on for that one. The Hinata and Naruto bits were fine, but holy fuck was that plot bad. They may as well have put Naruto in a spaceship and sent him to Mars to fight Martian Shinobi, I mean if we’ve already crossed the line, why not run a marathon beyond it.
The movie was meant to explain away a one-off line made in the series, that admittedly I did sit and ponder whether or not they’d ever explain it, about the Sage of Six Path’s brother, Homura, who went to go live on the moon after they defeated their mother Kaguya. It was mentioned so briefly and only once that I thought for sure it wasn’t ever going to be brought up again. I also wondered where Byakugan came from since we’d gotten an explanation for Sharingan and Rennigan during the series, but never for Byakugan. I actually don’t mind the explanation that it came from Homura’s bloodline, I think that tracks well enough. The man on the moon bit was...odd, but when I thought of how strong Homura was, I didn’t think much of it. I actually thought he somehow was going to still be alive and he’d come down to earth after they defeated Kaguya, but that never happened.
Here’s the rub though, and one of my issues with the series as a whole, which is that the show seemed to keep writing itself into these weird corners where they’d be forced to do something completely nonsensical, purely because they were the ones who wrote them into those corners. It would’ve been simpler to just say all visual jutsu was derived from Kaguya’s power, or the Homura died so there’s no man on the moon, or that Tsunade died so Kekashi needs to become Hokage, etc. They didn’t have to write themselves into these scenarios, but they did anyway and the end result was them having to write complete and utter nonsense to rationalize why they did it in the first place.
Kekashi becoming Hokage doesn’t really make any sense, like at all. They literally bisected Tsunade during the war but willed her back to life when they could’ve just as easily killed her then and there since she’s largely irrelevant to the rest of the series after the war, and then it would’ve made more sense why Kekashi, the man who on numerous occasions said he didn’t want to be Hokage, would then be forced to become Hokage as he’d be the next strongest (eligible) shinobi after Tsunade. I feel like it was all meant to be a payoff to Obito’s dying words to Kekashi which told him to become Hokage, which even then I found myself asking why the fuck would he say that? Kekashi almost was Hokage once before and was so relieved when Tsunade woke up from her coma so he wouldn’t have to.
Also can we talk about how bad that final episode was? I mean don’t get me wrong, it was cutesy as fuck and actually brought a tear to my eye (when Naruto asked Iruka to be his dad I fucking lost it, I won’t lie), but they cut it off before the wedding? Before the aftermath? Before he becomes Hokage? Like I understand Boruto exists, but I don’t feel like that’s a justifiable excuse for ending your long-running series on merely the assumption that he’ll become Hokage in the future. Maybe if the show was a whole 500 episodes shorter I’d be comfortable with it ending on a vague, yet hopeful ending, but when I’ve spent fuck knows how many hours on this series you bet your ass I’m expecting some mother fucking payoff.
Also do not even get me started on Sasuke. What. The. Fuck?!?!? My guy literally just sends a note via carrier pigeon to the wedding? That’s it? Did I just fucking hallucinate the last 720 episodes or wasn’t Sasuke supposed to be like the second main character??? The absolute absurdity.
This isn’t even much of a comparison because it’s so much shorter than Naruto, but it’s all I got in the moment, but imagine if at the end of Return of the Jedi, Han Solo just decides to fucking dip. He’s just not there. He and Chewie hopped into the Millennium Falcon the moment the Death Star was destroyed and just dipped. No longer in the movie, just gone. Didn’t say anything to Luke or Leia, just up and left. That would be insane.
It’s even more offensive knowing him and Sakura end of together. My. Fucking. Gods. This has been the relationship I’d been dreading since the start when it became abundantly clear they weren’t doing even the barest minimum to actually establish a relationship between them. As it is, when I watched The Last, I thought to myself: “Well, Naruto and Hinata’s relationship hasn’t been the most well-developed relationship I’ve seen, but it’s still leagues better than whatever hatchet job they’re going to pull to convince me Sasuke and Sakura end up together”. We didn’t even get the hatchet job. That’s just how little of a shit they gave. They did not even bother pretending to give any explanation as to how I’m supposed to believe they end up together. I’m quite literally just supposed to believe it because I know it will happen. There’s no rhyme or reason to it, it’s just something that is and therefor I must accept it. Absolutely ridiculous. As it stands, the show gave us more reasons why Sakura and Lee should end up together than they did for her and Sasuke. Fuck, I’d even buy Sakura and Inu before I’d buy Sakura and Sasuke.
I could go on, I really could, but it’s late and I’m just looking forward to putting this behind me. At some point, probably not too soon, I will watch Boruto. As it is, my watch schedule is pretty thoroughly booked up for a while. I can’t foresee myself ever watching this again. I know I sound harsh on it, but I wanna reemphasize that I want to like this show. It’s not a show I think is bad period, it’s a good show I think was just done rather poorly. It all felt very off-the-cuff, much like this shitty review. I don’t know what the manga-to-adaptation pipeline looked like when the show was live, but clearly something got fucked up somewhere.  This really feels like the Fullmetal Alchemist to Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, and I can’t help but want Naruto to get the Brotherhood treatment...if such a treatment even exists.

Hi guys!
(It has been a while since I last posted something)
Welp, today I kinda wanna just post here some ideas/prompts for fanfics (either one-shots or multi-chapter ones) and if anything catches your eye and you have the drive to write it then just go ahead and start writing (if you post it just tag me or sent me the link to your work cause I really wanna read it)
Welp, here it goes:
1. Prompt/Idea #1: Boku no Hero Academia and Pokemon (crossover)
Izuku begins his pokemon jurney in a world inhabited by both heroes and villains. Now he has to deal with: his very much aggressive starter Eevee, the angry and clearly "not dangerous" hero-wannabe Bakugou Katsuki (and his class of superpowered kids), villainous organizations that want to either get rid of him or take his pokemon away, his dead father who is not so dead anymore, Pokemon Hunter J who wants to ... er... adopt him? and many others. Well, at least he is closer to earning every badge and every ribbon from Kanto through Kalos...
Izuku: "This jurney won't be that hard, right?" Famous last words, Izuku.
2. Prompt/Idea #2: Miraculous Ladybug and Animal Crossing (crossover)
Marinette is still bullied by Lila and, just as the liar said, everyone turned their backs on her. Things take a turn for the worst when Lila decides to get rid of Marinette in a more ... permanent way. Now, in an induced coma, Marinette's consciousness travels to another dimension. This one may look peaceful but the inhabitants (why are they all humanoid-like animals that walk on two legs!?) have been dealing with huge and powerful Black Butterflies that have destroyed their homes time and time again. The villagers call this particular city Arcadia and apparently they have lost their mayor a few years prior to Marinette's arrival. To say she is surprised about all this is an understatement, but Marinette is Ladybug and Ladybug always helps getting rid of Butterflies - even if Tikki is no longer with her. Maybe - just maybe - she can start anew here. And who is this cat named Fèlix and why does he seem so... human comparative to the other villagers? Meanwhile, in the real world, with Marinette in a coma, a new Ladybug must show up and Kagami is up for the task. If it means beating some sense into Agreste's and his classmates' heads then all the better. Look out Lila, your days as the queen of the class are numbered.
3. Prompt/Idea #3: Boku no Hero Academia and Yo-kai Watch 1, 2 and 3 (crossover)
At the young age of 10, Izuku is mostly used to being treated like trash. When his childhood friend turned bully dared him to go in the heart of the woods and bring back a ball from the infamous "Cursed Gotcha Machine", well, he wasn't surprised. What surprised him was that he got a ghost butler? and a fancy watch out of this (Not that Kacchan will actually believe him) And now he is able to see what the butler - Whisper - said to be "Yokai". Izuku is making friends - albeit not all are human beings, so maybe he can also become a hero with this watch and with the help of his Yokai friends. (As long as he can keep them from murdering Kacchan..) Navigating new friendships, learning how to love himself and how to let go of friends from the past is already hard enough. If, along the way, he ends up falling for another tormented child who may or may not be able to see yokai as well and whose father is a literal walking flaming trash can, well he will deal with this too.
4. Prompt/Idea #4: Boku no Hero Academia - Otome Game AU
Akatani Mikumo is a 35-years-old office worker who leads a plain life devoid of any amusement. People find him boring or unpleasant so Mikumo always finds himself alone, the moment of his death is no exception. Alone in his appartment who went up in flames while he was sleeping, Akatani Mikumo died ... and in another universe, 6-years-old Midoriya Izuku woke up on a bed with people - his parents? servants of the house? - surrounding him and crying of happiness. Apparently, Izuku almost died from a deadly disease, but only he knows that it is not their Izuku that woke up on that day. Mikumo wants to fulfill the kid's last wish: to keep both his family and the people around him happy for as long as he can. A tall order for 35-turned-6-years-old Mikumo but he can try. Now if only he can remember where did he hear the names of these nobles and why does the word "Quirk" seem so... familiar? Watch as Mikumo navigates life, makes friends for the first time, bullies nobles and, unwittingly, makes everyone he meets fall in love with him.
5. Prompt/Idea #5: Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Pre-Calamity setting AU (original take on Link's past)
Growing up, Galahad was best friends with Raphael. Their friendship survived until today and is still going strong, and with kids on the way the two decide to make sure their children will also become friends. Fast forward 10 years later, Link (Galahad's son) and Haruto (or you can put any name you like here) (Raphael's son) live up to their father's legacies - both in friendship and career. Both were blessed with above average skills in hand to hand combat and swordsmanship. However, they never fought in a real battle against the monsters inhabiting Hyrule yet. But, after a mission in which their fathers dissapear, a fairy by the name of Fi - self-proclaimed a messenger of the Goddess Hylia - tells them that they have 1 year to save them from the Yiga Clan's clutches. In exactly 1 year, the Yiga Clan leader will sacrifice Galahad and Raphael in a ritual to awaken Calamity Ganon, believing the two to be the Hero who wields the Sword that seals the Darkness and his Shadow's reincarnations. Now, Link and Haruto need to travel across Hyrule and get stronger in order to save their fathers. While they overcome the trials put on their path by the Goddess, the past unravels itself to them and they might just face a bigger foe than the Yiga Clan - their own self.
(Bonus points if the two meet the pilots of the Divine Beasts and befriend them - yes, even Rivali for all his pride shall fall into the clutches of friendship - before Link is announced as the Hero that wields the Master Sword)
Welp, here they are. These are just 5 of my ideas. Maybe this will become a thing that I will do monthly, who knows.
If you are interested in anything from here or you want more information on one of them, just send a message and I try to reply as fast as I can. If not, then happy writing.
Bye! 🤗🤗

k3r0kero said: Jake and Jane Harley are not the same characters as Jake English and Jane Crocker. Neither are Bro and Mom Lalonde the same as Dirk and Roxy. I don’t doubt that you’re aware of that, so I don’t get why you’re making a false equivalence. They are all different people with totally different histories, just a shared origin point. (i.e. it would be gross if the Harleys had kids because they were adoptive siblings, but Jake E. and Jane C. are fine)
I’m purely interested in the genetics here, which I feel like gets lost in the multiple timeline shuffle a bit. So Joey Claire is Tavros Crocker’s half-sister, and if you consider the current “Jade” to be Jadesprite with OG Jade’s memories instead of the other way around, then Joey and Tavvy are Jade’s Aunt and Uncle, and that was not a way I’d thought about the story until now. Arguably it applies to the other kids as well; they all died and are dead and some dream clone took over for them as a God Tier. Which feels a little “Ash is in a coma and Pokemon is his dying dream” as a theory except that’s actually what happened and we’re shown it onscreen twice.

Survey #324
“i'll sharpen my knife upon the stone made from the ruin of a dead god's throne  /  listen to these words as my seeds are sown: it's time to amputate the infected zone”
What is the last game you played on your phone? Pokemon GO. Do you give people personalized ringtones? No. Does your phone screen have any cracks? No. What makeup products are you wearing, if any? None. How would you describe your skin tone? Very pale. Do you have your full birth name on Facebook? Yes. What is your least favorite fruit? Probably cherries. How often do you walk around barefoot? Whenever I'm in my house or another person's who prefers shoes off inside. Would you need to sleep with someone before considering marrying them? Nah. Do you think people look up to you? No. How often do you have trouble sleeping at night? Every night. Do you ever rehearse conversations before you have them? YEP. In my head, at least. Can you name five current world leaders? No, haha... When taking a cab, do you talk to the driver? Cabs aren't really a thing here. I've never been in one. Do you always read the book before you see a movie based on a book? No. What is your favorite urban legend? The Jersey Devil. Mothman is dope and super creepy, too. I love cryptids, period. Are you an elitist (even a little bit) when it comes to anything? What? No, because I hate people like that so much. What type of fabric is most comfortable for clothing? I dunno, I don't pay attention to this. If you wear one – bras with or without a wire? With, so long as they're not poking out and stabbing you... If you wear one – are you able to find cute bras in your size? Definitely not. What length do you like your shorts to be? You'd have to pay me some big bucks to see me in shorts, period. Have you ever cut off jeans or other pants and made them into shorts? No. Have you cut the sleeves out of T-shirts to make tank tops? I don't think so, no. What was the last disappointing movie you saw? *shrug* What was the last disappointing book you read? Even bigger *shrug*. Do you ever watch compilation videos? Of what? Rarely, but if I do, they're generally old Vines and stuff. What was the last thing you rolled your eyes about? Probably something stupid on Facebook. Do you like Hellboy? If so, do you prefer the old movies or the new one? I have no thoughts on this. Favorite Disney character who isn’t royalty? Dory! Do you have a lot of people whom you don’t talk to all the time or see all the time, but still consider to be your friends? Yeah, like friends from high school and online childhood ones. Do you typically do your make up the same each time? Or do you like to change it up often? It's just about always the same. Do you enjoy making surveys as well as taking them or do you just prefer to copy, paste, fill out, post? The latter. I don't make surveys. Have you got a significant other? How are things between the two of you? If not, what was your most meaningful/long term relationship and how did that come to an end? I don't. My longest and deepest relationship was with Jason, and he ended it when my depression became too much for him to handle. Have you spent much time in a vehicle lately? What for and where have you gone most this past month? No. I've barely left the house lately for obvious reasons. Has it rained yet this year where you live? How about hailed? It's been raining like crazy lately. A few mornings ago, it also hailed very heavily for a few minutes. What is your favorite thing about Mac computers? I like the sleek, clean look of them. What is your favorite thing about PCs? They have more power for playing games. What are some errands you need to run soon? None. Well, we have a Wal-Mart order to pick up I think tomorrow, and I'll probably ride with Mom. What color was your high school graduation gown? Red. It was between that and navy, and I was really hoping for the latter, but it lost the vote. The red was so obnoxious. How many graduation gowns have you worn? One. Are your parents’ dreams for your life different than your own? I don't think they have their own specific "dreams" for my life. They both want me to create my own future that makes me happy. Have your dreams for your life changed? Definitely, over all the years. Would you ever want to learn sign language? Not especially, but it'd be cool I suppose. What’s the last thing you had for dinner? Chicken tenders, I think? Or was that the night before? Have you ever performed a solo dance in front of a crowd? No, but I almost did. At my old dance studio, the high school seniors had the option to a solo, and I was working on one to "Coma White" by Marilyn Manson, because it was and still is a song I really feel in regards to my mental health and many medications I "have" to be on. I was doing fine, but I stopped when I realized I just really was too nervous as a dance competition approached. Have you ever sung a solo? No. What was the last job you had? Deli worker. For two hours. What was your first job? Sales associate at GameStop. Who was/were your favorite coworker(s)? I never really had one. At what age did you start experiencing sexual attraction, if any? I don't know. Probably my freshman year of high school is when my levels of attraction to people reached a sexual and not just romantic level. Have you ever split open a rock with a hammer, to see a geode inside? UGH no, but I so wanna find one of those one day. What states have you lived in? Only North Carolina. S.O.S., get me outta here. What is your favorite thing about the month in which it is now? You start to see some flowers blooming. Who were your best friends in high school? I had a decent group of close friends, but I was closest to Hannia. I wish I still had contact with her. ^Are they still your best friends now? No. She deleted me off Facebook at some point. Do you live near the mountains? No; they're on the western end of the state, and I live on the opposite side. Do you live near a beach? It's about two hours away. What is your favorite beach that you’ve been to? I don't have a fave. Do you collect seashells? Nah, but I like picking them up and looking at them. My sisters and I used to collect them, though. We have a plastic container of them somewhere. If you were to start a new collection, what would it be? I desperately want a cornucopia of Markiplier merch, sobs. Is there a certain place or store you especially hate going to? I don't like going to most stores, really. I'm an online shopper. When was the last time you made plans with someone? October of last year. How long do leftovers usually sit in your fridge? Depends on the food. They tend to stay in there a bit too long, though. What is something you do for other people that shows you care for them? Offer to listen to them and always be a source of support and love. What was the last animal/pet that you met? Kinda recently, someone in our neighborhood was walking their German shepherd, and Mom chatted with the lady for a bit while I listened. Is there anyone in your life with whom your opinion changes on frequently? No. Have you ever kept a journal? Do you currently keep one? Yes, on-and-off during multiple periods of my life. These surveys are like my journals now. Is there a certain song or band who remind you of specific people? Yep. Motionless In White and Black Veil Brides, Jason. Pink Floyd and Evanescence, Sara. Metallica, Mom. Van Halen, Dad. Etc., etc. How often do you style your hair differently from how you normally style it? Never. Have you ever found out that you have been sleep walking? No, I never have. What’s the last thing you promised yourself? I don't know about promised. I take those so seriously, even to myself, that I hesitate to make them. Have you ever tried making something from one of those short cooking videos? How did it turn out? No, but my friend once tried making that "muffin in a cup" thing and it was absolutely horrid. Very eggy. When was the last time you had to wait in line for longer than a few minutes? Good question. Going into places is so rare nowadays, so it's hard to encounter this issue. Well wait, maybe at a fast food place? Idr. Have you ever written a review for a product you bought online? No, but I should do that once I actually use my own money to buy from small businesses in particular... if I had something good to say, anyway. I'd feel bad trash-talking a product. Do you ever interact with any brands/companies online? No. Is there anything you seem especially sensitive to, such as sounds, smells, etc? Smells, yes. What was the last thing you had the urge to do? Read, even though I didn't do it. .-. Is there anyone you feel that takes you for granted? No. Do you ever read the comments on social media posts? Sometimes, particularly if I have strong feelings about something. What was the last “good” thing to happen to you? My PHP therapist felt confident enough in my progress to step me down to three sessions a week versus every weekday. Last awkward situation you were in? Thankfully it was a one-on-one session, but the same aforementioned therapist was asking me questions that really stumped me, so I kept going very quiet as I thought and felt awkward and dumb. He's brilliant at his job. Think of the last time you were sick – what were you sick with? I think the last issue I had that qualifies as "sick" was a double ear infection from Hell itself. That was like two years ago. How do you think your life would change without social media? I'd be incredibly bored, but I, among I think most others, would be more positive and have a more realistic outlook on life. Social media highlights the best times in our life, and I do feel that that has had a negative effect on pretty much everyone. I don't at all believe social media is bad in essence, though. It's a wonderful way to stay connected. What was the last thing you wanted to buy, but couldn’t afford? I can't afford a new terrarium for Venus for probably a while, being without a job and all... How do you get your news? Facebook, haha. How often do you drive? Never, right now. My permit is long expired, and my vision isn't up to par to renew it. If you had to go (back) to school and completely change your career path, what would you choose to study/pursue? I guess biology? Are there any TV shows you constantly quote or know almost every line to? No. What do you think about lizards? I adore lizards; they're all so cute, big or small, and truly little dinosaurs. They're beautiful and so vast in appearances and behavior. Is there anything that people assume about you that isn’t true, and that you find very irritating? Not that I find irritating, no. How would you rate your “detective” skills? Uh, what am I "detecting?" I'm pretty good at digging online if I'm really hunting something down, I guess. Have you ever done consumer testing (testing products before they come out on the market)? If not, would you ever want to? No; I wouldn't be opposed, depending on the product. Have you ever received anesthesia or morphine? Both. The one time (I'm aware of) where I had morphine oddly enough did jack-all, though. If you had to choose which video game to be in, which would it be? Hmmm. Maybe like, Shadow of the Colossus, living in the beautiful garden on the top of the shrine? With the deer, the birds, fruit, just its general beauty... That would be awesome, especially with one other person, especially an s/o. Just the two of us in a gorgeous land. Between the two, would you rather live in a place where it’s only night or where it’s only day? Only day, I suppose. Vitamin D is very important, for one thing, and it always being dark would definitely affect my depression. And what about the flowers blooming and being able to take pictures? :( Sleep would still be possible by just closing your shades and stuff. Is there anyone that makes your skin crawl? Maggots, bot flies, parasites, patterns of small holes, etc. Do you like it when people are affectionate with you? Yes. If we're at least friends, anyway. I'm a very affectionate person. Have the past few days been bad, good, or neutral? They've been pretty all right. If you had to be an actor/actress in a movie, what genre of the movie would you be best at? Probably as an insane villain in a superhero movie or something. Are people more likely to tell you to tone it down or to speak up? Speak up. I'm a mumbler. I can be too loud sometimes too, though, particularly when I'm excited. What’s the last thing that you procrastinated? Now. Emerson's birthday was last month and I still haven't touched her pictures... Out of fire, earth, water, wind, light, and dark, which element appeals the most to you? Dark. What’s your favorite color on a vehicle? Burnt orange, pink. The last pain that you experienced, was it physical or emotional? Physical. What was one of your favorite songs as kid? I liked lots of pop songs. When’s the last time you tried to get revenge, if ever? Never. It's not something I chase after. Do you like Taylor Swift? No. What’s your favorite Disney Channel movie? The Haunted Mansion, I think. That's a Disney movie, isn't it? If you met your favorite celebrity, would you be calm or star struck? I'd be a deer in headlights, stuttering and stammering over ways to thank him and crying like a bitch. I'd be super embarrassed, but I absolutely hope I get to meet him one day. Do you ever have to do yard work? No. Is your school close to your house? I'm no longer in school. Do you have any live versions of songs in your music software? Yes. Did/do you listen to Britney Spears songs? Yeah, I like her. What shorthand do you use the most? Probably "lmao." What album is the current song you’re listening to off of? METAWAR. In your opinion, what song is the most overplayed right now? I wouldn't know; I don't listen to the radio. Are you in a band? No. When I started high school though, I wished I could be a guitarist in one. That's one reason I started taking lessons, haha. Does your favorite band have a male or female lead singer? Male. Have you ever been to a Broadway show? No. Do you prefer group or individual work? Individual, by a long shot. I work much better alone. Could you ever complete a 500-piece puzzle? I think I have before. I used to love puzzles. When was the last time you rode in a limo? Damn son, never; what could possibly give you the idea I could afford to ever do THAT????? Do you take naps daily? Almost every day, yes. Do you still make Christmas lists? Yeah, because I'm asked to. Do you watch the show Dexter? Never seen it, no. Are you currently using a blanket? Yes. My feet are cold. How long is the song you’re listening to? 4:06. Is your mom or dad the older parent? Mom, but only by a year. Did you ever listen to Avril Lavigne when you were younger? Who didn't? I still listen to a couple songs. When was the last time you changed a light bulb? Not all that long ago when Venus' lamp bulb died. How often do you clean your car out? I don't have my own car. Did you ever buy NOW ("Now That’s What I Call Music") CDs? My older sister did, yes. What color (mainly) is your computer? It's black. What is in the back seat of your car right now? In Mom's car, idk. But there's usually some stuff back there. What is your favorite episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S.? Never watched it. Last person’s house you were in? Besides my own, my older sister's. Who is the last person you sent a message to on Facebook? My friend Chelsea. We were catching up. Were you an honor roll student in school? Yes. Do you have a tan? HA. Are you someone’s best friend? Yes. <3 What do you think of when you think of Australia? Huntsmen spiders. *shudders* Favorite gemstone? Of the basic ones, rubies. If we're talking of all of them, even the obscure, then dragon's breath opal. I'd LOVE to have a ring of one of those. Do you go in at a fast food place or just hit the drive thru? Almost always the drive-thru. What color is your mom’s hair? It's all gray now. Does your first memory involve your dad? No. Biggest annoyance in your life right this minute? My social anxiety. Do you like watching a bonfire? Yeah. Fire is mesmerizing. Do you ever get flu shots? No, but I really should. Once the Covid vaccine is accessible to all though, I'm getting it for the protection of my immunocompromised mother.

Legacy Spoilers - Platinum
So now that the two major events have already been spoiled, now to list the stuff that my favorite Dex Holder will do.
Also, in the end, Platinum remained my favorite Dex Holder to the very last. Just counting the years since I started writing with Pokemon Special stuff (2009-2020), other than the brief moment when Platinum’s name hadn’t been revealed yet, she has been my favorite Dex Holder for the entire time.
Like before, discretion, spoilers and semantics and yadda yadda. And much to no one’s surprise, this one is LONG since it turns out that Platinum is participating in vast majority of the plot events, if not all of them.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Platinum warns Y about her Dragon Pokemon evolving too quickly. Y gets severely discouraged, thinking that her favorite senior doesn’t have much faith in her abilities.
- Worried that Y would rush even more to prove herself, Platinum spends a lot more time training with her, in order to help her get better control of her Dragon Pokemon.
- Blue is infected with a mysterious disease and suddenly collapses during a girls-only trip with Platinum, White, and Y. Platinum takes her to the hospital and quickly realizes that the situation is very unusual and severe.
- Platinum thinks it’s her fault as she sees just how depressed Red is upon seeing Blue dying, as she’s the one who helped them get together.
- Platinum is absolutely devastated when Blue dies. As Red falls into deep depression, she is unable to comfort him whatsoever as she blames herself for his misery. As a result, she is unable to do anything to prevent him from disappearing shortly after Blue’s death.
- Platinum notices that Moon is distancing herself from her, and becomes more depressed. Diamond, Pearl, White, and Y try to cheer her up but they are not particularly successful.
- Silver finds out that Team Rocket was responsible for Blue’s disease and death, and wages a solo war against the organization. Crystal tasks Gold and Platinum with finding Red for the upcoming fights.
- Platinum finds Red in a bar in Viridian City, and is quite shocked to see just how much he had changed in the past month, and how aggressive he had become, since he was even glaring at her constantly. She is crestfallen as she knows that this is her fault and tries her best to keep her distance from him.
- Y’s Mega Garchomp goes berserk during a fight against a small Team Rocket force. Y attempts to calm it down, but the Mega Garchomp winds up accidentally stabbing her through the chest with its scythe-claw. Platinum was unable to intervene as she was busy fighting her own opponents. Y manages to survive barely due to the quick response from White and Moon. Y falls into a coma and Platinum falls into shock, realizing that she had failed to protect her junior and had failed to prevent this foreseen rampage.
- Platinum starts to lose composure as her guilt, pain, and fears are starting to take toll.
- Platinum demands Moon to tell her the truth about what had been happening. Moon reluctantly tells her everything, Platinum is shocked as she realizes that her beloved “sister” and junior had been going through such pain in another region while she herself had been enjoying her time with friends while completely unaware, and is quite hurt to realize that said junior had been deceiving her for months now.
- Platinum ends up greatly hurting Moon out of her anger and pain, demanding if this was how Moon was repaying her for all that she had done for her.
- That night, White sees Moon running away but fails to catch up to her. Instead, she talks to Diamond and together, talk to Platinum. Platinum deeply regrets her words and hastily runs off to find Moon.
- Platinum fails to find Moon and goes to enlist Sabrina’s help in finding her. Sabrina reports that an unusual energy signature belonging to Moon had surged in a Team Rocket facility.
- Black and White are dispatched to scout ahead. But they soon drop out of contact, and Platinum goes to investigate the facility herself. Platinum finds Black unconscious near the “entrance”, and wakes him up.
- Platinum and Black wander through the seemingly haunted and twisted facility to find White and Moon.
- Platinum stumbles upon Moon’s thought-impressions, and is able to hear Moon’s thoughts as she descended into madness. Moon’s final thought-impression was her endlessly repeating the phrase “I must protect her”. Platinum realizes that Moon had already been killed and faints. Black tries to console her once she wakes up, but fails.
- Platinum and Black eventually find White hung in a large chamber filled with dead bodies of the Team Rocket members of the facility in similar states. The markings on White’s wrist show that she had been tied up before she was hung, indicating that this wasn’t suicide but rather, murder. Platinum deeply regrets allowing Black and White to scout ahead, and falls into depression.
- Black swears revenge and charges off but Platinum doesn’t follow him and stays next to White’s corpse.
- Platinum is almost swallowed by madness as she surrenders to the darkness but is interrupted as Moon’s ghost appears.
- Moon’s ghost tries to attack her, but manages to recognize her. Platinum approaches Moon’s ghost as she kneels, and weeps as she embraces her. The sadness and sincerity break through Moon’s madness and the two are able to reconcile.
- The reconciliation comforts Platinum just enough to give her the strength to push forward. She carries White’s body on her back and leaves to find Black.
- Platinum finds Black mindlessly walking around, as his blinding rage had subsided and is now swallowed by depression. She manages to comfort him enough to pull him out of depression.
- Platinum finds the command center of the facility and begins to poke around to see what Team Rocket was up to. Platinum finds details about the K3 project and that Team Rocket was attempting something in Sinnoh.
- Black searches through the security camera archives and finds the footage of Moon being killed. Platinum sees the footage as well but having already reconciled with Moon, she manages to overcome her tears and remembers the location to retrieve the corpse.
- Platinum returns with Moon’s corpse and sees the security footage of White being hung. She notices that the one murdering White is Black, who had been possessed by the overflowing curse upon coming in contact with the twisted Mega Banette.
- Black had somehow managed to overcome the revelation, so the two proceed to leave the facility.
- After one last encounter with Moon’s ghost, Platinum leaves for Sinnoh to have Moon’s corpse buried and given a fitting funeral in the Berlitz Mansion graveyard.
- Diamond and Pearl accompany Platinum to Sinnoh for the funeral and to investigate Team Rocket activity. After the funeral, Diamond and Pearl take time to cheer up and comfort Platinum.
- Cynthia alerts Platinum that massive unstable energy had been emanating from Mt. Coronet. Platinum, Diamond, and Pearl join the Sinnoh Gym Leaders in investigating the energy, and discover a forced fusion of Dialga and Palkia.
- With the help of Giratina, Platinum, Diamond, and Pearl are eventually able to assist the Sinnoh Gym Leaders in separating Dialga and Palkia. Platinum recognizes the scientists responsible for the fusion are indeed from Team Rocket. The three Sinnoh Dex Holders return to Kanto.
- Once Platinum returns from Sinnoh, she joins the other Dex Holders in assaulting the main research facility where the K3 project has been developed.
- Inside the facility, Red and Platinum reach the research and development section of the facility, deep underground. They find a storage room filled with weird biological matter in jars and pods. Platinum watches a strange ball of brown hair in a large jar, and the object slowly turns around in the fluid, revealing an open pair of blue eyes and pale skin. Platinum notices that the object is a badly deformed human head and the eyes begin to blink.
- Red finds Blue inside a large pod and breaks it open to save her. Platinum rushes to assist but then realizes the Blue inside the pod is feral and doesn’t actually have a mind. The feral clone lashes out at Platinum but Red breaks the clone before it can do any damage.
- Several more failed clones escape their holding cells and swarm Red and Platinum, forcing them to fight their way out.
- Red and Platinum realize that all they are seeing in this chamber are failed clones of Blue, ranging from near complete bodies to horribly deformed masses. Red believes that these clones are the result of this K3 project, and vows to destroy everything related to it.
- Red and Platinum fight through the facility to get to the central lab. They interrogate some of the researchers and find out that there is a completed clone of Blue, and that she is the K3 project.
- Platinum tries to convince Red to spare the completed clone.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Good Ending
- Platinum successfully convinces Red to spare the completed clone. Red leaves Platinum to finish up in the central lab while he rushes off to find and save Blue.
- Platinum assists the other Dex Holders in destroying the data and the remnants of the K3 project, and then destroys the facility after everyone escapes.
- All the remaining Dex Holders head to Unova to stop the remnants of the rogue Team Rocket elements from awakening Kyurem and forcing a fusion with Reshiram and Zekrom. They are too late, however, as Kyurem had successfully fused with its two counterparts to become the original Dragon once more.
- Blue and Platinum analyze the forced fusion’s energy waves to spot weaknesses. With their analysis, the Dex Holders are eventually able to destabilize the fusion and force the three to separate once more.
- Afterwards, Platinum assists Red in installing Blue’s mainframe in his house so that Blue would have no issues maintaining her artificial intelligence.
- Red thanks Platinum for her invaluable assistance, and apologizes for being cold to her before. The two reconcile and are happy.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Bad Ending
- Platinum fails to convince Red to spare the completed clone. She attempts to stop him from recklessly destroying everything, hoping to snap him out of his anger.
- Platinum battles Red to the best of her abilities, but she is eventually defeated. She still tries to stop his reckless thirst for vengeance, and he ends up attacking her directly as he vents his rage and frustrations on her, blaming her for everything.
- Red leaves her broken and bleeding in the central lab. Platinum tries to stand up to chase after Red, but she doesn’t have the strength to do so.
- Platinum is left abandoned as the facility is destroyed, and the building collapses. She survives the event, but is now buried deep underground in rubble.
- Platinum apologizes to Red and Blue for causing them so much pain by helping them get together, and for failing to stop Red from doing something that he would regret forever. She apologizes to White and Moon for causing their deaths and being unable to save them whatsoever. She apologizes to Y for leaving her all alone now, and for not being able to prevent the rampaging Dragon Pokemon.
- Lastly, Platinum apologizes to Diamond for not being able to spend her life with him, and leaving him to live with her death.
- The door to the lab breaks open as the feral failed clones of Blue have all escaped captivity when the building collapsed and destroyed their cells and pods. Platinum closes her eyes as she would rather not see the horrible deformations of her beloved senior as they tear her apart. Platinum is quickly killed in the hands of the feral swarm.
