They were spending frequent quality happy time together and they both felt like they were in a good place in the relationship.

Like everything else, it's in their music.

The lyrics of "(Just Like) Starting Over" are about rekindling an old flame with a romantic getaway. He talks about screwing someone in a motel in Montauk and doing it in the road and staying in bed with the walrus. The lyrics of the chorus are a triple Paul reference. "It's time to spread our WINGS and fly. Don't let ANOTHER DAY go by MY LOVE." The main melody comes from a beach boys song, and he's got Elvis affects on his voice. None of those musical choices were made for Yoko's benefit.

Then there's, along with "Coming Up", Paul's side of things. "Secret Friend": For most repetitions of the chorus, he says "feel like you've never felt before" but the first time he sneaks in "feel like you've never FIT before," which can only be referencing a dick, especially if he's being that coy about it. "Cast adrift on some uncharted sea" -- John's constant nautical metaphors, calling Paul his boat, his recent solo sea voyage. "I know we'll find a way. I know we'll reach the end. If you will be my secret friend." I mean. And then "Nobody Knows".

ya that's right!! Community game played my game ain't that crazy! Okay so here is all you need to know:

This is an AU where Whitty (now who's referred as Whitmore as his last name only) and Updike (Gabriel in this AU, he doesn't know his last name or anything since he was abandoned) switch places. ONLY they do in this AU, all others stay the same. Conrad Whitmore was raised by The Greater Good (similar concept to SCP) after being found in abandoned and crashed down lab as a doomsday experiment. TGG saw him as an useful tool Being fed well and trained since childhood, he's naturally taller and bigger than average Whitty. Also more tired. Just because Conrad had a good childhood doesn't mean he was free of trauma btw ☝ He had many experiments done on him such as vivisectomy, endoscopy and multiple blood tests and even organ removals, however he was often manipulated by TGG into doing this of free will, ever since as a kid.

For those who ask "well what about Carol? Does she still date the Whitty from this universe?" yes she did! Hex and Carol are/were still Conrad's closest people he has had in his life But Carol eventually broke up with Conrad once she learnt the true nature of his job. A big rift developes between them, with her trying to desperately convince him TGG is not the better solution it claims to be, while Conrad defends it with his life for is the only thing he knows. Their fights escalate a lot, until she visits him in his office. Needless to say it didn't go well.

I have an animatic as well! In a resume, their (verbal) fights gets him so agitated, he enters his ballistic stage where he hasn't felt that in years besides while a kid. And during his rage he pulls the trigger while Carol calls him names (monster being one). TGG covers the crime, the lyrics are important btw!

This all happened when Conrad was 21, Carol's death is tragic enough he enter a depressive episode + is taken back to his 'original bunker house' (where he was raised) by TGG for 5 years for reevaluation. Hex is the only one who knows what happened because Conrad told him. That's pretty much the lore? I think? UH anywasy tldr I became so attached to Conrad I've scrapped the 'swap' alternate reality of it and turned him into Whitty's twin brother (and Carol isn't dead there).

Also out of respect for Sock.Clip, Gabriel, or TGG no longer exists, I'm just dumping this here to be registered in my tumblr since it was the only social media I never uploaded the lore of my AU completely. But yes, swap whitty is fully dead, ofc ppl can make art for it duh, I just mean I won't be making content of it ever again, Conrad instead is being brought to the 'original' fnf world, and will be currently Whitty's twin, but his lore or story has been completely rebooted.

His fame isn't what he expected due to the creepy and disrespectful fans. The "garden" likely being a metaphor for the garden of Eden (aka ARCADIA!!) and he's lost in what should be so perfect but he "begs no pardon", he doesn't want to leave the band behind at all.

The exact moment my jaw dropped btw. If this doesn't say it, I don't know what does. It's a direct call to the disrespectful "fans" that violate their privacy and anonymity. Most importantly forgetting he's a fucking human being. "That's what I get for trying to hide in the limelight" is him letting us see the hurt that the crazies have created.

He's reinforcing that the message of Sleep Token, at the end of the day, will always be to bring people together and focus on the music. Vessel has his mask for a reason. He doesn't want his name or face attached to the music. It's a selfless endeavor and he's begging people to realise that.

A reference to the people who think he fakes crying on stage or is disingenuous with the emotion he portrays. He understands it yet he still wants everyone to see it. He still wants us all to gather and feel together.

Another snapshot into the result of the hate and idiots that follow the band. He's in an impossible situation because he should relish in what he has yet he can't because of all that follows the band. And he obviously doesn't want to be ungrateful because he knows he's blessed with what he has here.

"Terrified to answer my own front door" I suspect is a direct reference to that group that were literally stalking the boys locations bc they got bored. Once again, he's begging people to remember that he's human. And he's "missing [his] wings in a realm of angels" because this is not what he envisioned in success. His "wings" are feeling the love and adoration of his fans and most importantly their respect, yet so many dimwits have completely overlooked that.

"Beautiful nightmare" is absolutely haunting to me. I can't explain it but, it's like he's saying the experience of what he has is the beautiful part yet the entire experience is a nightmare because of the stalking harassing and doxing.

This is by far the most personal Sleep Token song imo. I think this entire album is going to be more personal yet under the guise of lore. House Veridian's "the house must endure" is him trying to endure under all the violations supposed "fans" have caused and Feathered Host's "the cycle must end" is him wondering if he should call it a day and dissolve the band.

The new album is "Even In Arcadia". He's in Eden now (the popularity and success of the band) yet even in this height of success Sleep Token are on and get gaining, there is the monster of disrespect and doxxing. Arcadia is not what he thought, or wants it to be.

In short, if you share unmasked shit or think it's okay, this is Vessel telling you to stop and remember him and the boys are fucking human.

Starting with basic shit Akito is SO so in denial about his feelings and when he's finally fed up with it he chucks it down to infatuation (It is not)

And Tsukasa is an oblivious idiot to everything even though he has a stupid crush on this ginger he just refuses to say anything because he still thinks Akito despises his guts

During WxS shows Akito's supportive and is internally loud but during VBS concerts Tsukasa is HOLLERING Akito's name and singing along if he knows the lyrics it's embarrassing but if you look closely enough you can tell it hypes up Akito a little more and he tries even harder (An has taken note of this and teases him nonstop about it)

Neither of them are a huge fan of PDA but if you stare long enough you'll probably miss a sneaky little kiss when you blink

That or if Tsukasa's in a really good mood he'll practically cling to Akito (Which is like 50% of the time tbh)

Ok I’m sorry but we gotta talk abt this. Look, I get you were young when you made that video but kid that “my problem with scenecore” video is so badly researched it’s insane, there’s MORE mistakes you didn’t even cover.

One MASSIVE one you made was when you compared scene music and scenecore music. You took an issue w/ zeija’s music for sh fetishism but u are aware that scene music did that too??? Dot Dot Curve, the band you were praising throughout the video, joked about sh in one of their songs, the Millionaires too. Jeffree Star’s musics full of it, BrokeNCYDE has some too iirc. I just don’t get how you can sing along to the lyric “Emo kids cut and bleed but we like to party” and then complain about “Taking off my shirt see the scars all on my body”.

Then when you were criticizing BOTDF, you said “Spanky and Jay Wreck were normal, why can’t scenecores talk about them???” And it’s like. No they weren’t. SPANKY has a song (not even some old random one, no, it was released under the DDC name) where he talks about shooting up his school. U rlly can’t present scenecores as “These BOTDF obsessed freaks” and just gloss over the fact that the band you were defending and promoting glorifies literal shootings. Scene kids still went to shows and malls and were relatively tight knit, whereas something like scenecore feels even more consumerist and superficial. So I remembered the existence of the rockabye musical, which is a musical involving eldritch horror free to watch on YouTube, that sound familiar? Yeah the venn diagram between Hatchetfield fans and Rockabye fans should be a circle and I’m disappointed it’s not. (Here’s the link btw go watch it)

A more detailed explanation of the plot is that this band gets hired to write a lullaby to put an eldritch god to sleep so it wont wake up and end the world in the process (I believe the musical uses the lovecraft mythos or some parts of it? Idk im rewatching it tomorrow it’s late at night rn) the musical has a diverse cast and some pretty good songs.

Anyway the point is that I’m picturing a post TGWDLM Paulkins animatic to the song Crazy for You from Rockabye (link to the song) so here’s me going through the lyrics, explaining why they fit and a bit about how I picture this animatic (under the cut because this is about to be a long post) also Rockabye spoilers under the cut

Okay so the song’s a duet between two characters named Xander and Simon, Xander’s lyrics will be used for Paul and be in blue, Simon’s lyrics will be used for Emma and be in green. Lyrics they both sing will be in purple (not because of lord in black associations I just needed some colors). In Rockabye this song takes place when the characters have entered some Black and White like dimension, I’m comparing it to the Black and White because I genuinely don’t remember the name right now. Being in the dimension is driving the characters a little crazy, this is why Xander is falling for Simon. Simon seems unaffected by the dimension but it’s kind of implied he’s actually gained the ability to see the audience. Now onto me being insane

I feel like this is pretty self explanatory. A lot of it is reminiscent of how the hive describes infection, changing someone’s perspective and making reality clear feel like actual things a hive member could say in the show. Also infected!Paul calling his love infectious, do I even have to explain that.

What cute things to say to your significant other 🥰 I mostly want to talk about the last two lines, “you’ll see in time” as in it being inevitable and then “the monster that lies beneath” referring to Pokey. Maybe Paul breaks a little when he says that last bit, mainly to lead into the next verse

First line Paul is freaking out a little, maybe he’s not fully infected and kind of snaps out of it. While I think in the actual musical “you” refers to Simon I think Paul would be talking about Pokey here and not Emma for obvious reasons. Next line Emma starts to sing and immediately panics realizing she’s being taken over, Paul is back to infected mode says the next line as some twisted way to comfort her. (Also it’s worth noting in the cast recording Xander’s actor laughs after saying that line which I feel like Pokey would do in that situation)

The two sing different lyrics overlapping, lot to unpack with this one. In the original musical Simon is talking to the audience here. Emma is processing that the infected have won and that things are over, “show is over take your bow” is A. A really fitting thing to say in a musical apocalypse. And B. Would fit the fact that Emma starts to see the audience at the end of TGWDLM much like Simon does in Rockabye. Then for Paul “your blood pumping through my veins” could be referring to how they become one through the hive mind or how Pokey is taking over their bodies “the beating organs we discarded turned to waste” is how when they are apothesized into the hive mind they die, discarding their beating organs, and how the infection literally replaces your organs and blood with blue ones. I picture at the last line Emma is panicking and Paul snaps out again for a second looking kind of horrified about what’s happening before becoming all smiley again

So I'm writing a jojo's/enstars fic, and as the Madara Lore Expert, I wanted to ask you a question.

In the fic, I've given Madara a Stand which gives him impenetrable armour, but only him. He can protect himself from harm, but he's helpless to prevent harm coming to his friends

Anyway, it's called Runaway Baby, but I'm not sure about the name. I think the Bruno Mars song it's a reference to really works for his character.

So my question is, what would be a better name for the Stand?

twilight zone is a story about an espionage agent/assassin thats just completed a mission and is on the run from enemy spies, but ultimately gets cornered. juke box hero has nothing to do with madaras meta its just a good song and it would be fitting/ironic to have hero in the name of a stand that explicitly cant save others. wanted dead or alive just has madara written all over it, if you read the lyrics its obvious why.

My take/interpretation on Fräulein Schneider (Tw: sensitive topics such as Anti-semitism, and general ww2 regimes.)

Hi, I’d like to start off by saying I’m AWFUL with punctuation and any grammar mistakes are to my deepest apologies!! Also please note that my word is not law!! Any perception you have should not be changed or disregarded bc of this funny guy on tumblr!

How I see Cabaret is a commentary on sectioned lives when Fascism/dictators are rising. I’m not entirely sure how it’s supposed to be interpreted so if I offend anyone I am very sorry.

Now Cabaret itself is set in Germany during the 1930’s as Fascism (specifically n@z!sm) grows.

Fräulein Schneider is a german elderly woman before the N@z! rise, she rents rooms in her flat. Schneider (I don’t think she’s ever given a first name) used to be wealthy in her youth but for whatever reason lost it later in life. This can be found in her song “So What?” So What, while apart of her first vocal and physical appearance is her first song (The first mention is from Ernest Ludwig where he says “You have no room? But this is no problem I know the finest residence in all of Berlin! Just tell - uh - Fräulein Schneider, yeah? That Ernest Ludwig has recommended you.” We meet her after this)

When her and Cliff have a very brief spit about the rooms price (her wanting 100 marks and Cliff saying 50) she insists it is worth it, and for a professor and budding novelist it is more suitable. After the disagreement keeps going with her trying to sell the room as best she can (which Cliff denies due to finical trouble) essentially sits him down and begins her song. We know she is perspective to how people place in society.

She starts off with “a difference of fifty marks- Why should that stand in our way?” She follows this with “as long as the room is to let the fifty that I will get is fifty more than I had yesterday, Ja?” She’s very wisened in all of her years, she talks down any possible conflict between the two- by her tone and generally story she reaches for the human side of Cliff and doesn’t immediately turn him away because he won’t pay 100 marks. The song is very emotionally led as Fräulein tells us about her life, her struggle with growing older and we get to follow her through the song. She lets a lot roll off her back and never gets too shaken up with the line “the sun will rise and the moon will set” we see she can shake things off pretty easily. she is content in her life- happy with the flat. She is humble to her core. As we get no perceptions of her story through anyone else we truly only know her life through her eyes. She shows little regrets and any that she might have are pretty much water under the bridge.

(Every reference I make is the 1993 performance btw!!)

I wouldn’t say Schneider is motherly but rather friendly, like the elderly lady who brings you brownies on a holiday. Her enjoyment of a peaceful life is a heavy aspect of her character.

Some time after the death of her love (we know this from So What? In the lyric “now he lies in a churchyard plot” after speaking briefly about him). We can assume she meets and begins seeing Herr Schultz [which personal note: I love them guys:(]

Herr Schultz is a Jewish fruit shop owner and is mostly likely a stand in for Jewish business owners and or successful Jewish people during the N@z!’s rise to power. We see a different side of Schneider, a romantic side of her. She gets flustered around him and embarrassed when Schultz gifts her a pineapple (a rare treat) a swooning and loving song between the two.

Although embarrassed at such a prestigious gift (although it could be read as playful). The two proceed with their relationship and we see them both together a couple of times before their proposal.

(Cool thing I want to point that The two songs they sing together have the same motifs… pretty cool right!)

For a quick wrap on this section: They eventually do break up due to Fräulein deciding she could not risk her life or the flat to marrying a Jewish man after a brick smashes his window showing Schneider the direct danger Jewish people were in. (damn you, Herr Ludwig, damn you)

Fräulein Schneider is a survivor, with once wealth, a successful flat and unfortunately all eventually being taken away and eventually her breakup with Herr Schultz and the death of her former (from what I’m aware unnamed) lover she overcomes each struggle. She refuses to evacuate with the fear of restarting, for beyond anything survivor or not she is elderly.

In my perspective: she is a symbol for any elderly trapped under a regime unable to restart to age, business, roots or whatever.

In her song “What Would You Do?” She simply asks Cliff this question “what would you do?” She goes on to (NOT VERBATIM!!!) say “I’m too old to leave, I kind of half to give up this way for I have little fight left over after being whittled away after years of simply living” the young DO have the cure as we have the ability to run, to fight we have groups we can back into for that safety and companionship (friend groups, partners, families whatever) but for the elderly with no one? They lack all of that, sure they may have a friend or two but that’s no where near close to the protection the youth have. She physically and metaphorically can’t run away even if she desired nothing else. Time is rushing by her and she’s quickly losing seconds while Cliff has plenty quickly she is growing tired and stubborn.

When told to not let it end this was she is much too tired, unwilling to upheave her life and ruin everything.

In my perspective: Fräulein is the voice of the elderly in the face of conflict as big as Fascism’s rise.

I hope this made sense, I’m really bad at articulating myself so I’m sorry if it makes no sense!

MERLOT, both in terms of my favourite composition and performance

my partner and i were on a break whilst they were studying abroad ("we're only on month 1 of 4"). I just kinda word vomited my feelings. I was feeling pretty depressed at the time I wont lie.

yes i DID!!! this EP was MADE for fun. i wrote the songs specifically to make fun songs to play live. (aside from HOLLOW DRUG)

first of all, thank you so much!! second, some songs i write it all in one day but others can take a week or so before i'm fully happy with how its sounding. that being said, i always end up changing something before recording (usually around a month after writing, but in the case of MERLOT, that was recorded only a week after writing).

if i had to just name one, it'd be Nirvana. I wrote a 3000 word essay on In Utero for uni and that genuinely inspired me to make these songs. I really loved how Nirvana performed and I thought 'man, if only I had songs like that where I'd have an excuse to go crazy' other influences would include Jeff Rosenstock (my #1 fav artist) and PUP (greatest live show I've ever been to) btw, thank u sm!!

unfortunately i havent learnt proper scream technique so all of my screams were done at the very very end of my recording sessions. i think it worked out because that meant i had a lot of pent up frustration

i will start by saying my uni lets me hire out all of these microphones for free (if you don't count the student loan) vocals: SM7b & RE20 (only on sociopathic leech) guitar: AKG C414 matched pair (acoustic and electric) bass: my takes were originally done with an RE20, pretty sure fern just DI'd drums: Audix DP7 + SM57 (for hi-hat) + C414 for room mic's

i was in a guitar lesson at uni and we were talking about chromatics in the blues scale. my guitar teacher suggested i try to make a riff using the blues scale and particularly the chromatic part. that riff ended up being the middle 8 section of RIGHTS TO MY WRONGS. the rest of the song basically acted as a vessel to transport this breakdown middle 8 section. hopefully it doesn't come across that way !!!!!! but that was the main idea.

it felt very natural. i'll probably continue to go this direction in my future releases.

its mainly a reference to SOCIOPATHIC LEECH! 'i could beat you with a bat'. i just wanted something that felt visceral and angry and i feel like izzie really captured that.

yes and no! brett romnes is a super nice guy and very fun to work with. i obviously had my own mixes so he could see what i preferred and essentially made it better. i think there ended up being 4 drafts before we reached a final master.

these were my original mixing notes! i think the only thing that really got lost in translation was i added some really subtle vocal distortion at the end of HOLLOW DRUG in my original mix. in the end, i feel empowered by brett because he made it sound like what i felt it should sound like in my head (DOES THIS SENTENCE MAKE SENSE!?)

after i wrote SOCIOPATHIC LEECH and RIGHTS TO MY WRONGS, i was like 'okay, this is the style we're going for, lets do some sort of project in this particular style' i was pretty dead set on an EP since i'd just done an album. so to answer your question, yes and no!

i wish i could put something significant here. im sure theres some psychologist out there who could tell me that the song represents something about me. i was feeling alienated at the time, hopefully this helps? "confess your sins to the crowd, no-one can hear you when you're talking so loud" is definitely about my frustrations with song meanings though

tsukki haha!! this is kinda of an AU, not gonna lie, with a y/n reader, but it's kind of...like, she has a nickname, ok, and that's what she's referred to by (bcs I hate the name y/n). basically, her name is Babe, and she’s like…the “outgoing” version of Tsukki. Think very Atsumu into a girl? She’s definitely the one to suggest fun meetings (kinda like Mina Ashido from MHA/BNHA) and as a result, Tsukki teases her endlessly about how it sometimes fails (with cuddles). Dr eggman's name... A useless name discussion, that should have just honestly die out years ago, because... I'll be honest this is just stupid.

BOTH sides of the argument are stupid to be honest, the American purists who preferred the name robotnik due it sounding more intimidating, and the Japanese purists who preferred eggman due to it being the original Japan vision and also just hating American influence.

Just.... Okay let's just get this over with by describing the history of his name:

In the original Japanese version of the games, he was primarily called Dr eggman and still is to this day, he is called that primarily due to... Idk, being a fat evil guy. Tho its also theorized he was named after a lyric from the Beatles song "I am the walrus", which technically isn't far fetch? He did have a walrus like triangles in his classic outfit.

In the English translations of the games up until 1997, he was called Dr ivo (pronounced ee-vo) robotnik. He was named in the USA by dean sitton and the name Ivo was chosen because it sounded similar to evil. I did hear that robotnik was chosen cuz it sounded like "worker" in Russia, but I haven't found a source on that... That and it's "rabochiy", not "robotnik" in Russia that translates to worker.

Then like, idk, around 1997, he is referred to as both eggman and robotnik in both English and Japan. Sonic jam's official bio in Japan (despite its... Weird inaccuracies to his characterization) is the first time the name Ivo robotnik is used.

Now there's also another factor into WHEN he is named in canon, so... I'll make most of the post talking about this (cuz I need an excuse to make it longer. TvT)

In the English translation of sonic adventure 1, they gave him the name Dr robotnik like all the other games pre-1998.

But In The original Japanese version, he is still referred to as Dr eggman. So... That means he is never referred to as robotnik in Japan aside from sonic jam right? Well... no actually.

He has the name "robotnik" on screen in his cutscene where he destroys half of the moon and this is also present in the Japanese original as well, not an additional change in the English dub. (This isn't going into maria and Gerald btw)

So in English it is implied that he was called eggman since at the very earliest sonic CD (due to amy calling him that) but didn't change his name until after SA1, and in Japanese, it is heavily implied that he was called eggman since BEFORE the original game's story happened due to them meeting before it. I personally prefer Japan's implications for his name change as it is much easier to think about since he has been enemies already, but it doesn't really matter either way.

Now why did he change his name to eggman? Believe it or not, the information for his name change isn't exactly consistent.

BUT.. and I'm going EXCLUSIVELY on frontiers' Japanese translation on the explanation since the English version of his egg memo didn't really help with the explanation at all.

I prefer to go with japanese frontiers' explanation for the name change, cuz doing it due to being fed up sounds really stupid imo.

So why did they change the name so that he is called both? It's simple, it's so they can avoid confusion (especially because sonic and tails 2 (known as triple trouble in Japan) used the name robotnik prior to it even being canonized in 1997. Lol) of him having both names, so they change it to him having Ivo (still pronounced ee-vo btw) robotnik while his alias is now Dr eggman (basically now a supervillain ass name. XD). This is also so they can use the name Dr eggman in the English versions of the game to help unify all languages much better.

So... Yeah, he's called both, I don't see why anyone has a problem with accepting both.

People who grow up with USA stuff criticize this decision due to eggman sounding more "ridiculous" in itself... BUT to which I disagree because the name eggman ironically gives the character a more empowering feel, showing that Sonic's insults like that mean basically nothing to him and can turn it around. Plus saying robotnik sounds intimidating is kinda stupid imo, because I'd argue if you think about it, BOTH names are kinda equally stupid. So does it really matter? It's just a name.

People who love the Japan stuff criticize the robotnik name being canonized cuz it is American influence and also that it "makes no sense with Japan's naming system of using your first name.".. first off, that's false as Japanese people DO use their last name after a title. The only reason they used the first name in say, Gerald, is because his name is different from eggman's name, so obviously it is to avoid confusion but also, you don't use the first name anyway until you have a familiar relationship. (And since I should bring this up the reason doctor brief in dragon ball is using his first name is cuz dragon ball characters don't have last names anyway minus Goku's family. XD)

Plus it makes sense to canonize robotnik cuz... Can you imagine calling them "maria eggman" and "Gerald eggman"? It sounds weird to say. Lol plus they did this to expand on his family as he didn't have a confirmed family up until SA2, so like... Yeah why not use robotnik as a family name?

Me personally, I love both names. I do however used the name eggman much more as he was technically conceptualize with that name to begin with, plus I grew up with it, PLUS... Idk, I just feel like I'm more used to it. That's really the only reasons I used eggman more than robotnik, otherwise yes I love both.

BONUS NAME POINTS:

In the USA lore and fleetway lore, Ivo robotnik is backwards for ovi kintobor as he was originally a good scientist before becoming evil.

In AOSTH, Ivo was mispronounced as "eye-vo" which caused many misinformation surrounding his name pronounation. The sonic 3 movie, knuckles show and English tailstube unfortunately uses this name error, but Japan tailstube calls him ee-vo.

In the Archie comics, he was originally called Julian kintobor before changing his name to ivo robotnik... Idk why.

In the 1993 Saturday morning show, his full name is Julian robotnik, disregarding Ivo entirely.

In sonic boom, it's unknown if eggman is even his real name or not due to his father being called that. Either they both have the same alias or that's their real last name in the boom continuity

In the 2020 sonic movies, his name is exactly the same as the games implications, tho as of sonic 3, he still hasn't referred to himself as eggman yet, so right now, it's just SA1 English dub's implications (as in he's not referring to himself as eggman, only his enemies are) for now. This might change in sonic 4 tho.
