actually the relationships between each party member & luke in this game is really, really good. i wasn't expecting a lor because typically rpgs forget to have something dynamic with all of their party members, but they very pleasantly surprised me with this game.
#.text#tales#tear and luke are. tear is where it all started and where it all ended. she both metaphorically anf physically freed luke from his prison#and watched over him. she was one of the first to believe he could change. and he did. with her guidance#luke and jade are. they make me emotional. jade sees himself in luke and has an endless pit of Guilt that never seems to go away#whereas luke AND ion are both beyond greatful to him. he is the reason they are alive afterall. and luke also sees him sort of as a mentor#they are Friends. and i think jades conversation with luke before the tower of rem was one of my favorites. i think abt them a lot.#luke and ion. they are the Same. created to be replacements and created to die. they both want to live so badly. and they both#dont want to be anyone but themselves. they Are themselves. and they support each other through that. even when its too late.#guy and luke. oh god. i dont even know what to say about these 2 without going on a massive rant.#his best friend only met him in order to kill him. but somewhere along the line guy ended up raising this poor newborn child#learning to walk and learning to read and write learning how to sword fight and how to take care of himself. healing wounds and#scolding after temper tantrums. being too soft because luke ended up being more than just a revenge plot.#from waiting till the day luke died to waiting till the day luke died. same circumstances. different reasonings and feelings and.#and to luke. guy is the one who stood by him through absolutely everything. and the person he chooses to trust no matter what.#anise and luke. i think theyre so fucking funny. anise is 12. she kept going on about 'marrying' luke so she could steal his money and#maybe even fake an accident later. whoopsie! but then they became Friends. and i think siblings too.#but they are. the same. their attempt at forgiveness. for redemption. and them extending trust when its needed most.#i think anise and asch are the only ones id put a lable on in regards to their relationship with luke. and anise is only because i think#itd be REALLY funny if she called herself his 'older sister.' shes TWELVE after all! and hes only seven 😌#natalia and luke. natalia spends so long. nearly the entire game. trying to find the line between asch and luke. she tries so hard to#see luke as his own person and not as an extension of asch. and while he's trying to do that too. for himself. he spends his time#with her realizing he's her childhood friend too. and he makes sure she understands the circumstances of her birth#dont take away the time she has spent with her family and him. and they use that as the foundation of fixing their view of each other#asch and luke. i cant say anything else abt them ill genuinely become ill. like i really just Cannot. but. im sure i dont have to say#anything anyways. they are mirrors. and they reflect each other with a passing glance. they are reaching out#and staining each others hands with the blood found from their mistakes. but still they reach out. that is all. that is all.#oh!! luke and mieu.. :]. mieu. the very first person (cheagle!) to see luke Change. and the first person to forever stick by his side.#even guy left. even though he regretted it and turned back. tear hadnt stayed for him either. but mieu did. and i think luke knows that#one of his bigger regrets too. but mieu understands and he still cares. they are the similar. the same. and they go hand in hand

Written for @prongsfoot-microfic for 5 Jan 2024 (darkness). Rating: T. Angst, first wizarding war. James battles with his dark side. Read here or on AO3.
**
Darkness
He was shaking violently, unable to process what had happened.
"James!" someone cried out. "Prongs."
James blinked, looking up. When had he sat down on the floor? His hands were curled into tight fists, and his wand was somewhere out of sight.
"James, you're in shock. Come on, we need to go."
When nothing made sense, his voice was the only thing that made him move.
James stood up, barely noticing hands supporting him, pulling him up.
"You're alive?"
"Of course I'm alive, you great berk," Sirius huffed in exasperation. "Come on, we need to leave now."
**
James Potter despised the Dark Arts, he had for his whole life. The practice of something so vile was nothing but a mad attempt to taint what should be kept pure, light, good. Energy existed in everyone and everything, but only some possessed it in such quantities that it manifested as magic.
The war was ruthless, affecting everyone's lives. Who could tell what was good anymore? What was the point, when it could be taken away?
The thoughts raced through his mind as he pointed his wand at the woman.
"I'll kill you for what you did to him."
She lay defenceless on the floor, thanks to a well-aimed Jelly-Legs Curse, leering at him, her dark eyes blazing. "You don't have it in you, itty-bitty Potter."
James's wand shook, but having witnessed his best friend lying behind him, broken and lifeless, made him tighten his grip on his wand.
Darkness welled up inside him, engulfing him, and where he would normally push it aside, he did the unthinkable.
He welcomed it.
"Crucio."
**
James was nestled up on the sofa against the warm, alive body.
He felt wrong. Stained. Ruined.
"Fuck, Pads, I…" His words trailed off.
All he knew were those hands gripping him tightly, hands that had held on to him during a side-along Apparition, guided him to one of the Order's safehouses. Hands that had healed his cuts, wiped away the excess blood.
"You're here. You're not dead. You're really –" James rasped.
"I'm here, Prongs. You think it's that easy to get rid of me?" Sirius's voice vibrated in his chest beneath James's fingertips.
James looked up from the warmth of Sirius's neck. The grey eyes met his, understanding, a storm raging beneath the calm exterior.
"It was a trick. I was never hurt."
"I…" James heaved a breath, disgusted with himself. "I used the Crucio on her. Bellatrix."
"She deserved it." Sirius's voice was devoid of regret.
"D'you think I –"
"Killed her? I don't know, didn't exactly stick around to find out. More likely you hurt her so thoroughly she'll think twice about messing with anyone's mind again. "
James tried not to think about the revolting image of Bellatrix lying on the floor with her eyes open, bleeding from her nose and ears. She'd looked on the brink of death, and James hadn't halted the curse until his hand shook so badly that he dropped his wand.
He'd thought Sirius was dead, that the centre of his universe, the only thing that made sense to him in the world, was gone. She'd made it happen, using Legilimency, persuading James to come out of hiding to save Sirius in a shack where he was supposed to be held for torture.
James had gotten there, seen a body he thought was Sirius, dead on the floor. Before he'd had time to process what he saw, he'd been greeted by her. The cousin.
Their duel had almost destroyed the building, but she'd underestimated him, arrogant enough to believe James was easy to beat after thinking he'd suffered a great loss.
She hadn't realised that James refused to accept living in a world where Sirius didn't exist.
"I know a lot of ways to hurt the enemy, and I don't mind doing it to Death Eaters. But I performed an Unforgivable. That only works when…" James closed his eyes. "When you mean it."
Sirius's hand moved to his hair, stroking it gently. "I'm sorry you were put in that position, James."
They hadn't been able to communicate as much as usual. Lily was pregnant, and it hadn't been without its complications, so James needed to take care of her. Neither of them had envisioned having a baby in the middle of the war, but it had forced them to try to make the shambles of their relationship work.
James drew a long breath, his trembling body eventually settling against Sirius's warmth.
"This war fucks with all of us," Sirius added. "We all resolve to do things we wouldn't normally do."
"The thing is," James said, shame weighing heavy on him, "I don't really find it in myself to regret it."
He locked his eyes with Sirius, whose gaze betrayed no hint of judgement.
"I'd do it again. For you."
Sirius's eyes flashed with something unspoken as he wrapped his arms around James even tighter.
After a few minutes, James fell asleep with a feeling of warm lips pressing a light kiss on his temple and barely a whisper saying something he would forget when he woke up in a few hours.
"I'd do far worse for you, Prongs."

Home ~ S.B.
pairing: siriusblack x fem!reader
genre: fluff and angst?
warnings: azkaban, stupid sirius, order of the phoenix
Sirius hadn't been a player all his life, sure he had hoped from girl to girl for a very long period in his life but everything had changed when he met her.
Y/n had always been around, she had been going to Hogwarts for just as long as the Marauders. The difference, she liked quiet. Y/n was a girl who liked the background, the silence while in the library, the peace by the Black Lake.
She hadn't meant to catch the eye of the heartthrob Sirius Black, she hadn't meant to ruin all the other girls' chances. She merely wanted to survive school, live her life and raise a family with a caring and sweet husband.
How times changed. Now she was a single mother raising twins with her husband a mass murderer and in Azkaban.
"Just let me take you out on one date!"
"Black, you aren't even asking me! You are springing this one me as if it's an order and I have no choice."
The boy shook his head and walked closer his hands out reaching for hers, when he took her soft ones in his he smiled happily. They fit perfectly, "Will you please go on a date with me?"
"You don't even know me," she whispered taking her hands back. His smiled dropped as he searched her eyes for a joke or lie in them. Then it dawned on him, he had never even been this close to see her eyes were the prettiest he had ever seen.
"I can get to know you! That's what dates are for right?"
"Not with you," she said as she started backing away from him. "You don't go on dates to 'get to know a girl', I can't believe you'd even think I'd fall for that."
"It's the truth!"
But it was hopeless as she had her back turned and was walking off towards the great hall, "You don't think I'm stupid do you?"
Now she was chasing him, memories of him, she had photo's stacked away in a closet which she only showed to her children. They deserved to know their father , from their mother's point of view.
Y/n was sitting in the library as usual, it was the only place she now found peace and quiet. Sirius had somehow found her by the Black Lake, in Hogsmeade, everywhere... But in the library she could she curl up with a book somewhere in the back and never have him bother her.
Until today.
"Can I talk to you for a sec?"
"I already told you Black, I am not interested as -"
"long as I keep toying at your feelings I know, believe me I know." The boy sat himself down beside her, his hands holding a book themselves. "I wanted to tell you something."
Y/n looked up at him, expectantly but also a little bored, "Go on then."
"I, uh, I won't try to persuade you anymore."
She scoffed, letting her head fall to down again, "I told you it was all fake, you didn't really wanna go out with me right? Tell me was it a prank? A bet?"
He looked at her surprised, "What? No!"
She just rolled her eyes, not daring to look up at him, "right."
"It's true! I just- " he took a deep breath. "You don't believe me, so I will let you go, but I - I want to start over? I really like you, Y/n, so it would mean a lot if you maybe just gave me chance as friends, and I promise I won't try anything."
"Friends?"
"Just friends."
That didn't last for long though. Once they were friends the real bets rolled in, when they'd get together, when they'd get married, how their kids would be called etc.
Now however the bets were that she had helped him, that she'd killed her best friend along with her husband.
"I know he promised you it was only platonic, but have you considered it?"
"Considered what Lils?"
"Being more than friends?"
Y/n scoffed, she wanted to open her mouth and tell her she hadn't. That it was stupid she even thought so. But she couldn't. Of course she had thought about it, he was bloody gorgeous, funny and just magnifique.
"It doesn't matter," she answered instead, "Like you said, it's only platonic."
"But that can change."
"Lily," Y/n sighed, "I know you're trying to do well, but it isn't going to work. We differ too much, he's popular, handsome, sporty- I'm, me... He could have anyone he wants Lily, why would he ever settle for me when I've blown him off in the past. He wouldn't be interested anymore anyway."
The redhead sat down next to her, taking her hand in hers, "Those are your words, Y/n. He loves you-"
"He doesn't."
"Have you seen him with a girl these past few days? No, because even if he told you it was platonic, he can't find himself loving anybody else. He loves you, Y/n. Don't let him go because you're scared."
She took that chance, she hadn't let him go. Except that one night and it caused her him forever.
"We have been together for a year now," Sirius said. He had Y/n's hand in his as they walked together in Hogsmeade. He had wrapped her in one of his Gryffindor scarfs and beanies. He loved to dress her up in his clothes, even more so when he got to undress her later on.
"Mhm," she hummed her hand clasped around his swaying between them as they walked.
"I didn't know what to get you-"
"Nothing."
"- Let me finish," he chuckled shoving her gently with their interlocked hands, "I knew you didn't want something but I did so."
He got a little box out of his pocket and handed it to her, "You know normally if you ask someone to marry them you get on one knee and give them it themselves." He rolled his eyes at her remark, but as she opened it and did find a ring in it she gasped and looked at him, "I was joking you know, I don't think-"
"It's not an engagement ring, darling, it's a promise ring. That one day I'll change when we do get married."
"You want to get married?"
"Of course. Nobody else can handle my good looks!"
Their wedding was amazing, being married to him was a dream. He made her favourite's for breakfast, massages before sleep, kisses all the time... He was the perfect husband.
When Y/n had gotten pregnant that didn't change, he made her weird cravings, even tried some with her, he talked to her belly every night, gave even more massages ... He was the perfect husband.
Then the twins were born, he loved them. A boy and a girl. He loved them. He cried even more than Y/n when they were finally there.
It was the weirdest thing when she found out he had done such a stupid thing, she didn't believe it. After her and the twins, he loved James the most, he was his brother. Lily was Y/n's friend, best friend!
Y/n kept his memory alive by the twins, told them stories and showed them pictures. She never lost faith in him.
Then the news came, he escaped. She smiled bittersweet at the paper, at her husband. A tear rolled from her eye and then the door, knocking.
She didn't want to open it, having dealt with enough reporters and ministry people. She tried ignoring it, but as the door opened and he spoke she sobbed.
"Still keeping the key under the extra flowerpot I see?"
"You're home!"

A not-so-short word vomit on a complaint I saw about 6.3. It was just a couple of people, so this is definitely not a “why is fandom like this” sort of thing, but the conversation I saw just made me think and I don’t have the time or energy to engage in a direct back and forth on Discord right now. So, I word vomit here, as one does.
I saw a thing the other day (here? Twitter? who knows, time is an illusion and brain cells are in short supply) that asked if you’re the kind of person who came to FFXIV from Dragon Age versus ... somewhere else. I am obviously from the Dragon Age side of things. And if there’s one thing DA fandom taught me, it’s that a game suffers when all players are expected to know what happens in ancillary non-video game materials in order to fully appreciate the story. Thus, I come down hard on the side of “what the game itself says is exactly what the characters should be expected to know and reference.”
And the FFXIV spoilers begin below. Assume spoilers for everything through 6.3 here.
So 6.3 - and 6.2 to a lesser extent, thanks to Zero - is full of references to Zenos and, quite frankly, what a terrible person he was. And that’s perfectly understandable, given what everyone knows about him in game. (And even what we know about him out of game, but more on the nuance of that later.) Yes, our WoL knows that he made one big gesture at the end of his life that helped us save the world. That’s great! But after that, he immediately challenged us to a fight and very nearly killed us - would have killed us if not for semi-divine intervention. Because in the end, he didn’t come to the end of the universe because he’d discovered a conscience. He came because he was a deeply selfish man who only cared about getting One Perfect Fight, and Alisaie’s words stuck in his head only to the point of “well if I do a thing for them, they’ll do a thing for me.” He only progressed to the point of understanding equivalent exchange in a similar way to the voidsent of the 13th.
That may have been vaguely fine for a character in another position, but he was supposedly running a country. Whether he wanted that is something else entirely, and we’ll get to a bit of Emet Selch and his crimes in a bit, but regardless of what he wanted, he had an obligation, and he failed it entirely - he refused to even consider it. And an entire nation suffered for his lack of care. That was one of the points of this patch. We met Zero in 6.2, learned that she’d been attached to Zenos against her will. That was mostly background to the rest of the dragon and void stuff in that patch, but in this patch, we bring her to Garlemald, where she sees more of the consequences of Zenos’s selfishness, outside of her own situation. And after observing us, our friends, and the people of Garlemald trying their best to survive together, she shows that she can choose something different - that despite the many, many years of darkness and selfishness she’s had to survive in the 13th, she has the capacity to desire something different.
Maybe Zenos would have displayed that same capacity if he’d had more time. But that wasn’t the story this game was telling. Not every character is going to get the same opportunities.
Not every villain gets to be redeemed.
I understand that we have a relatively robust history of redeemed villains in this game, compared to others of its kind. But that’s been a mixed bag. Emet Selch is one of the best examples of villains in general in the video game genre - the game itself showed exactly why he was the way he was, without excusing the atrocities that he committed along the way. (Fandom is a different story on the excusing - I am deeply uncomfortable with the “but he didn’t see humans as equals” argument being used in earnest - but that’s a different post.) And then they gave us an opportunity to see who he was before the sundering, before the trauma, and that once his full memory was restored and he had the opportunity to understand the full scope of what happened, he would gladly (though with characteristic grumbling) help us put the world to rights before his truly final curtain call.
Zenos did not have the same narrative opportunities. If that disappoints you, I understand. But it’s not a failure of the game, it’s just a narrative decision.
(Briefly - Gaius is a very, VERY different story, and one that I think is actually a failure of the game’s narrative. Gaius Baelsar should have remained dead, and the person we met in the Burn should have been an entirely different Garlean leader who defected and decided to help us. That one change would have saved that entire storyline.)
But, Zenos. We, as players, have the opportunity to read some ancillary materials to understand more about him. Side stories, lore books - we find he was neglected as a child, raised by narcissists and molded to be the person he was, to a certain extent. We can sympathize, we can understand the narrative threads that denied him a real chance at being a good person. But do not confuse what we the players know - or even the space the game writers give us to play with our headcanons - with the knowledge and opinions the characters should reasonably be expected to express in in-game dialogue.
What does the Warrior of Light know about Zenos in game, through actual in-game sources? He’s the great-grandson of Solus/Emet, his father was a xenophobic zealot, he gave zero shits about anything other than fighting and let a lot of really shitty people do his governing for him, he killed a ton of people and threatened many, many more, the Ascians brought him back to life and as soon as he got his body back, he allied with Fandaniel and let a civil war turn Garlemald into a smoking crater just so they could get to Zodiark, and when Fandaniel used Zodiark for his own purposes, he just shrugged and went wandering on his own because nothing in Garlemald was any use to him anymore. That’s pretty much it. Yes, he came to our aid at the moment we needed it most, but he did so for his own ends, and we gave him what he wanted. You can headcanon the reason why your WoL did so, but that doesn’t change the basic facts we know from in-game sources.
Your WoL doesn’t canonically know anything about his childhood. And, quite frankly, even if they did, do you think it would be reasonable to “well actually” Zero and the Garleans in dialogue at this point?
Zenos is a tragedy. Zenos also caused tragedy, and those two concepts can coexist in our minds as players. But in-game characters can’t be expected to view Zenos in a sympathetic light, not even our WoL. External lore sources are not in-game lore. Our headcanons are not in-game lore. The writers cannot avoid every single instance of our dialogue possibly deviating from our headcanons, not without eliminating dialogue entirely.
(There’s an ancillary topic here, about how the current shape of the world makes it very inadvisable for writers who give a shit about society to gloss over atrocities committed by a rich ogliarch in their narrative, no matter what players headcanon about that character, but that’s an aside to the points I’m making. But while I’m all in for villain-fucking and blorbo-appreciation in a fannish space, fandom is a totally different space than canon.)
In the end, Zenos died a villain. A complicated, interesting one who made a fascinating decision at the end of his life, but a villain nonetheless. We can do whatever we want with him in fandom - that’s what fanworks are for. And we can be disappointed that the canon narrative doesn’t share our points of view. But we should also understand that there are very good reasons for those POVs, and that not sharing our POV is not a failure of the narrative.

My Future
Derek Hale x OC
Samantha, Stiles and Scott are always joking about the impossible. Who wouldn't when your best friend's dad is the sheriff of Beacon Hills? All jokes stop when they realize the impossible is indeed possible.
Tumblr media
Chapter 44: Hellhound
After Sam had gotten better, she was discharged and immediately went to see the sheriff who seemed to be awake a little better.
The older Stilinski smiled at the girl as she peeked in the room. "Hey, Sam.", he greeted. She smiled, happy to see him okay. "Hi.", she responded and came to sit next to him.
"I heard you got discharged. What happened?", the sheriff asked. Sam rubbed behind her neck. "Kinda got poisoned… and I was kinda sick for a while."
Noah's eyebrows furrowed. "How'd that happen?"
Sam frowned. "Theo."
His face changed to a disappointed expression. He knew he was affected by Theo's actions too, but he only hoped his kids didn't get hurt.
Sam noticed his silence and smiled. "I'm just glad you're okay. When I found out what happened, I didn't know what to do. I wanted to help heal you, but my body wouldn't even let me move unless I needed to puke."
Noah's expression softened. "You don't have to worry about me, kiddo."
Sam's smile grew a bit more.
Hours had passed and the boys had come back with Kira, along with the sheriff being discharged.
The teens met up with Stiles' dad. They had gotten news that someone had found a new group of dead bodies under the substation that the boys were at the other day.
They watched as nurses walked by with bodies in black bags on gurneys and brought them into the morgue.
"Who found them?", Stiles asked his dad. Despite the improvement on the sheriff's health, he still looked exhausted.
"Argent.", he replied. "And he said the Doctors were down there."
Sam frowned. "He also said you guys might know what this thing is." He trailed off. "They said that victims were killed somewhere else and then dumped in those tunnels."
"Hey," Scott said, "what if the Dread Doctors are hiding the bodies."
"Why would they do that?", Kira asked. The teens had updated her on everything that had previously happened after she left.
"Maybe they're covering for it.", Stiles suggested. He looked at Scott. "Protecting it as a parent would."
"Protecting what?", Sheriff asked.
"A werewolf," Scott replied.
"The Beast of Gevaudan.", Sam said. "Also known as the Beast," Kira added. The sheriff just looked at the kids, so confused.
"We know. Horrifying.", Stiles said.
"We better figure out what we're gonna call Parrish.", his dad said. "Because it looks like his dream is coming true."
The sheriff had the kids go to school after missing out on so much.
Suddenly, the PA system came on, "By order of the Sheriff, a county-wide curfew goes into effect tonight at sundown.", they heard, shocking the students. "All after-school activities are canceled until further notice. Students should go directly home at the end of the school day."
Their eyes widened as two cops with rifle guns walked past them in the hall and other students looked at them worryingly.
Sam and Scott saw Stiles talking to a cop and they quickly joined them. "You don't think this is a bit much in terms of firepower for a high school?", Stiles asked the deputy.
"Your Dad's the one that issued us these things," he said. "and he wouldn't officially say why."
Stiles looked at his friends with an annoyed expression. He couldn't blame the sheriff, though. He almost lost his job because he couldn't solve the murders caused by the supernatural issues.
"Did he say anything unofficially?", Scott asked.
"No.", the deputy replied. "But everyone's got a theory."
"What's yours?", Stiles asked. "I shouldn't even be talking to you guys.", the deputy dismissed, ignoring Stiles' question. "Don't you have class?"
"Come on, Strauss," Stiles said. "What's your theory?" Strauss glanced over at the other two deputies standing at a distance before he leaned towards the teens and whispered.
"Do you guys believe in the supernatural?" The teens looked confused, feigning innocent curiosity.
Turns out that some of the cops suspected the incidents to be of supernatural occurrences.
The teen quickly dismissed the deputy, laughing it off before leaving the school. Sam followed Scott who found Liam. The supernatural boys looked at each other in surprise as they looked over towards a door.
"Is that it?", Sam asked them. Scott nods as they had found a door to a room that led to the Dread Doctors.
Scott took a breath as he slowly placed his hand on the handle. He slid the door open and they froze once they were faced with a gun pointed at them.
They let out a breath once they saw Chris. "Holy shit…", Sam muttered, a smile growing on her face in relief.
Chris seemed relieved as well and placed back his gun into his belt. Scott suddenly frowned as he sniffed.
Chris caught on. "You didn't," Scott whispered.
"I had to," Chris replied. The teens peeked around Chris' shoulder and saw a familiar face.
Sam glared at Chris. "Really?" Who stood behind them was Chris' father, Gerard. He lost a lot of weight. He looked malnourished, and very pale.
"Hello, Scott. Samantha.", the older man greeted.
Sam growled and Scott's eyes turned red. "That's a new color on you, Scott.", Gerard said and looked at Sam. "Seems the bite kicked in as well."
"You want another one?", Sam threatened.
"Who's the old guy?", Liam asked. "Gerard.", Sam replied.
"At the moment," Gerard chuckled. "they would call me a necessary evil. But yes, my name is Gerard."
"What were you thinking?", Scott asked Chris.
Chris frowned. "That we need him."
"He's right.", Gerard agreed. "If you want to catch a werewolf-like the Beast of Gevaudan, you're going to need more than one Argent."
Scott looked at Sam and she sighed. This again. She hated using the Argents for their issues.
Chris stepped forward, "He knows all the stories. All the folklore. Everything is written and everything passed down."
Scott stepped forward as well. "You sure about this?"
Chris sighed, "Take a look." He motioned the teens to follow him. They walked into another room and saw a painting on the wall at the far end of the room.
They walked up to it. There was a drawing of two beasts attacking each other. One of them had flames coming out of its mouth and bright orange eyes.
That beast would be considered Parrish, but Scott wasn't sure. The other Beast looks like a giant werewolf, a bit bigger than the flame engulfed beast. Both had one of their arms up, ready to attack each other. The bigger beast had a hold on the smaller one and had his hand wrapped around its arm.
"The one on the right is the Beast of Gevaudan," Chris explained. He looked over at Scott and Sam. "Do you know what the other one is?"
They both shook their heads.
"The Hellhound," Gerard said. "The guardian of supernatural places. They're both creatures of the night. But you may know them as ordinary people during the day."
"And most likely neither of them knows what they are.", Chris added.
"Kinda like Jackson…", Sam muttered, making Scott look at her in realization.
"What is it?", Chris asked the boy.
"Stiles and I found a message in Latin…", Scott explained. "Damnatio Memoriae."
Chris's eyes widened as he looked back at his dad. "They want it to remember itself.", Gerard informed.
"That might give us time.", Chris said. "Time for what?", Liam asked, worried.
"To prevent this.", Chris replied as he stepped up to the painting. He placed his hands on the wall and lowered his head. Then he started kicking the walls and destroying the tiles as they hit the floor.
Sam frowned as she looked at the mural. Her eyes widened as she nudged Scott and pointed at it after Chris had finished.
The two beasts weren't just fighting. They were fighting on top of a pile of dead bodies in a field. Chris stepped back as they all just stared at the drawing in shock.
"Who are they?", Liam asked. "Us.", Sam replied. "It's all of us."
Liam looked at Sam and Scott in panic. Immediately, Scott started to talk with Chris to figure out how they would stop the Beast.
However, Sam tuned them out as her ears were filled with sounds of distant screams and growling. Her heart raced as she stepped towards the painting and held her hand out to touch it.
The moment she touched the painting, she was now in the lacrosse field. There were people running around and screaming, tumbling over dead bodies and scattering.
She turned and saw the Beast standing in the middle of the field and growling loudly.
She frowned as a bright orange light caught her attention. Once she turned around, her eyes widened to see Parrish engulfed in flames.
Parrish walked up to the girl, a blank look plastered on his face. "Death is coming.", he muttered and she took in a gasp, her vision coming back to the Dread Doctors operating room.
She let out a sigh, as Scott placed a hand on her shoulder. "What did you see?", Scott asked.
"The lacrosse field…dead bodies…and the beast. I'm starting to think this is gonna come true.", she said, looking at the painting and pulled out her phone to take a picture.
Gerard and Chris exchanged a look of understanding.
The next day, Sam rushed to the Sheriff's station. She had to get answers. Parrish was the hellhound? How? Why?
Once she got in, she made her way to Parrish's desk while he was looking over some papers.
"Can we talk for a sec?", she asked the deputy. Parrish looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Shouldn't you be in school?"
"Jordan, this is serious.", she said, frowning. His eyes widened and he stood up, motioning her to follow him, and she did just that. "What's wrong?", he asked.
"Well… you wouldn't happen to have any type of apocalyptic dreams, would you? No dead bodies at the school? No beast on the lacrosse field?", she asked.
He looked at the girl with wide, confused eyes and shook his head. "No, why?"
She sighed. What did that vision mean then? Was it wrong? Was he not the hellhound?
She took out her phone and showed him the picture of the painting. "Look, this is you and the Beast fighting each other."
He looked at the picture with furrowed eyebrows. "When I touched it, I saw the Beast standing on the Lacrosse field. There were screams and people running away and then you showed up in flames. Saying something about death is coming."
His eyes widened, "Does anybody else know about this?"
Sam shook her head, "I figured I'd just go straight to the source."
He frowned and looked at the picture then back at her. "Why would I say "death is coming" ?"
Sam shrugged, "I've got no clue either."
It wasn't good. Parrish had no idea and they were back to being frustrated with not knowing the beast's next move.
Malia came back with Deaton and Braeden after battling her mother.
Apparently Deaton had been captured and held hostage this entire time. It was relieving news that he was back and safe.
"Unit Five heading northwest on Crescent reporting an incredibly large…something.", the trip heard Hayden's sister say.
"I've got eyes on the same thing.", another deputy said. "Unit Six to Dispatch. We have a situation downtown."
The teens felt their nervousness wave in the jeep.
"Multiple fatalities."
"Copy, medics on the way.", another deputy answered.
Deaths already. This wasn't supposed to happen…
"Do you have a perp insight, Unit Six?"
"10-4," Dispatch replied, "can you say what kind of animal?"
"Some kind of rabid animal."
Hayden's sister's voice came through, "Unit Five to Nine, trust me, that's no animal."
 "Looks like a 10 91E.", they hear.
Sam gave Stiles a raised eyebrow. Stiles shook his head. "Animal attack." She nodded in understanding.
Stiles grabbed the radio and pressed the button, "All units stay back. Do not engage. I repeat, do not engage."
The teens jumped, hearing Stiles' dad on the line. "Stiles, get off the radio." His dad replied angrily. "All units alert. Wait for backup. Repeat, no one goes near this thing."
"Unit Nine, I've got it turning off Oakridge southbound on Beachwood.", they heard Hayden's sister say.
"All units, this is dispatch.  We've got a 911 call with additional sightings on Mitchell. This thing is either moving fast, or split in two."
Sam frowned. How fast was this thing moving? "Wait a second." Stiles spoke up. "Beachwood to Mitchell?"
"It's headed for the hospital…", Sam said in realization.
Stiles quickly took the radio and spoke into it, "Dad."
"Stiles, get off of this channel.", the sheriff fussed.
"Dad, just listen to me, okay? It's headed for the hospital, all right? He's headed for Beacon Memorial." Scott's eyes widened. Melissa was working tonight.
Stiles pressed in panic. "You hear me? It's headed for the hospital.", he repeated, speeding up.
Scott hurriedly called his mother and she quickly answered.
"Hey, what's wrong sweetie?", Melissa asked. "You gotta evacuate the hospital, now!", Scott replied. "Okay, they're making an–"
She stayed silent. Then all of a sudden, sirens went off. "I think Dispatch just called in."
She hung up. The trio all looked at each other in despair.
"Need eyes on Parrish.", they heard the sheriff once more. "Does anyone have Parrish's 20?"
The dispatcher's voice spoke, "All units, we have a 911 emergency call reporting a man on fire running."
Parrish.
"Clark, disregard.", Sheriff Stilinski said and the teens sighed in relief.
The trio quickly ran into the hospital after arriving and looked around. They jumped at the sound of a cocked gun and turned around to see Stiles' dad.
Sam frowned as she looked at the gun he held. "That's not gonna do it.", she muttered and froze as she felt a heavy presence moving around in the hospital.
The beast was already here.
Shit.
They stayed silent as they heard a thud and a growl.  They looked above them, hearing the growls get louder.
Sam tried to detect which floor the beast was on and who else was there. There were other people up there. Patient, doctor or otherwise.
"Fourth floor.", she muttered and led them up to the fourth floor.
Once they arrived, they saw flames in lighting up in certain areas of the hallways. That was definitely Parrish's work.
The hallway lights flashed and dimmed, causing a difficulty with seeing things clearly.
The sheriff stepped in front of the teens, holding up his gun and looking around as he led them down the hallways.
Just as they were about to turn a corner, a huge fireball flew past them. They looked to see where the source of the thrown ball had come from and saw Parrish being thrown back into a wall, his flames quickly dying out.
Parrish looked back at them, his eyes sparkling a bright orange. He was wounded. He had three large, deep claw marks on his chest.
His eyes slowly dimmed out as he began to fall into unconsciousness.
The sheriff walked over towards Parrish with Sam following behind him. Parrish's eyes were open, just blank. "Parrish? Are you okay? Deputy!", the sheriff exclaimed, calling the young deputy. Parrish awakened and looked at Sheriff Stilinski.
Parrish looked at both the sheriff and Sam in confusion as his body quickly healed. Her eyes widened. She didn't know he could do that…
Now he just looked dirty.
Sam looked back at Scott and Stiles, getting up and following them. Scott's attention was focused on the floor and Sam followed his gaze. A large bloody paw print was plastered on the floor. It had to have come from the beast.
However, the large bloody paw prints turned into smaller bloody footprints. Scott and Sam raised an eyebrow at each other.
Who was the beast?

@strandedincivilisation said: @blackbutler-readerinsertsandjunk  Now you HAVE to talk about it-
ONLY because I know they're gonna get a happy ending-
OK SO I really only have fleshed out headcanons for Emily and Wilde but I did find my post about it so in summary-
and this is just going off very loose interpretations of their patterns/sizes from both the anime and manga, so, ignore any inaccuracies or anything-
Wilde is a boa constrictor, but he’s very SMALL for a boa constrictor, no? bigger than any of the other snakes that Snake has, but tiny for a boa constrictor. his previous owner was a snake dancer in another circus, and on her ringleader’s orders she underfed Wilde; so that he would be easier to manage, easier to transport and handle and generally control. but of course, this also made him incredibly unhealthy, and once he got to a certain point, he got very sick. so the snake dancer released him into the wild, hoping that maybe he could catch and eat something on his own and recover, because she felt bad for letting this happen. of course, he was too weak to hunt by that point, so he was just very lethargic and would have been in trouble if Snake hadn’t come along.
Wilde is probably never going to get to the weight and length he should be, but he’s no longer starving because Snake takes very good care of all his friends!
as for Emily... she’s a coral snake, extremely venomous, but also very pretty with eye-catching colors. her former owner was a snake charmer who ran his little business somewhere in England, maybe traveling or what have you, and, well, he knew Emily was dangerous. so to minimize the actual risk to him (because snake charming is a gimmick and nothing more, and this is unfortunately what happens all too often), he removed her venom gland. but shortly after that, her bad temper hadn’t improved and she was no more docile than when he first bought her, so he just left her in the woods, more trouble than she was worth to him. Noah’s Ark was passing through a few days later, so Snake found her, and good thing, because without her venom there was no way she’d be able to kill anything to eat.
she’s had trouble adjusting to eating since she doesn’t have her venom, but Snake makes sure she gets fed... and, it’s not impossible that her venom gland might grow back.
Oscar has been with Snake since he was very young, and is probably the only one who isn’t a rescue! haven’t worked out how they met, but he’s likely a constrictor rather than venomous
I should really think up backstories on how the rest of them came to be with Snake, but, he saved all of them and that’s one of the big reasons why they’re all so loyal to him! he loves them all so much and they’re his best friends and he’s not going to let anything else happen to them ever again <3

The Empty
Before Rosie it had been Benjamin Kelly. Fiona had a tendency to find people nobody else wanted and make best friends out of them. Ben was a sweet boy who didn’t fit in anywhere but behind a book. She decided one day, plopping herself down in the seat across from him in the library, that they were friends. Ben had played along at once. Fiona, despite her charms, wasn’t that well-liked at their school (She was a know-it-all.) Ben didn’t mind. He couldn’t look people in the eyes, dressed poor, and had the misfortune of being second best in class. It made him a target just as much as the number one, Fiona.
Being smart wasn’t as cool as being strong or magical there, which made sense, honestly, because they were so deep in the rural and magical agricultural valley, where knowing history, literature, and politics didn’t seem to matter. The only reason most of the kids were there in the first place was because it was a prerequisite for many technical schools and apprenticeships they’d all transfer to when they turned 16.
Ben wasn’t one of those kids, and neither was Fiona. It was another reason they bonded. Ben was there on sponsorship from his uncle in the city. His uncle did what he always wanted to: he got out. The Kelly’s raised horses. They weren’t renowned, they didn’t raise prize stallions or magical mares. Ben’s father was of the mind that their big break was right around the corner, and the only thing that would make their luck change was hard work. Ben wasn’t like him or his older brother in that way. His head was always somewhere else. He loved to read. He hated farm life, and ever since he met his uncle, wanted to live in the city like he did. He didn’t really know what he wanted to do with his life, but he knew it wasn’t what was laid in front of him.
Fiona had been sent to the valley school by her family in order to keep her education a secret. It was unsightly for aristocratic girls to get an education where she was from. Don’t ask her why, it seemed incredibly pointless and limiting for no real reason. She was smarter than anybody really knew what to do with. Her brother joked that she had it all figured out by age seven, and after that she’d only been pretending to not know everything to make them feel better. She liked being smart. Everything was a puzzle to her to figure out, like the whole world was all scrambled for her to put back together. It was all she wanted to do in life; to put it back together. She missed her family, sure, but not the way they looked at her, sometimes, like they had to wonder if she was really one of them.
They loved her, of course. She had two older brothers and one younger sister, all exceptional in their own ways, and all who would kill and die for each other. Fiona’s parents were quite lovely, too, and just the principle of letting their daughter go get her education made them saints compared to the rest of the beau monde who’d never dream of sending a daughter away for anything other than being disgraced. She knew it hurt them to do so, she could see it in her mother’s eyes when they said goodbye, but she couldn’t bring herself to stay. There was a pit inside of her that she thinks would have swallowed her up if she’d been suffocated into some marriage market or the manners school. She didn’t know what their excuse was to the other members of society, and she didn’t care. She was here, she wasn’t there.
She and Ben had four years together, inseperable. Fiona even spent the summers helping the Kelly’s on their ranch. It was the best three summers she’d ever had. She was learning outside of books for the first time. Real experience and observation. She fell in love that first summer. She loved her hands on the reins and hair in the wind. There, next to her hunger for knowledge, bloomed her thirst for experience. Ben also fell in love that first summer.
He fell in love with her perfect posture, kneeled in a curtsy helping the foals stand for the first time. He fell in love with her hair falling into her face as she drew pictures of the different types of grasses that grew, and the way she noted which types which horses liked which grasses better. He fell in love with the delight in her eyes when she rode a horse for the first time. He fell in love with the way she tossed and turned on her half-filled cot, the kind Ben had grown up sleeping on, but that was harder than a rock for a girl who’d been accustomed to fluffy goose-down bedding. He was in love when she lied and said she’d slept better than ever before. He knew he loved her because he thought to himself, maybe it’s not so bad here.
He kept his love to himself. It was wonderfully hopeless, anyways. He knew that. He did. He thought he could be okay with that, too.
It only fell apart years later, two months before graduation. Eight weeks until Ben was expected back at the Ranch.
“Do you know what you’re doing yet? After we graduate.” Ben had asked, sitting side by side on the library floor, their backs against a bookcase and their knees bent up so their legs fit across the aisle. He remembered vaguely his legs being completely stretched out before reaching the other bookcase. They had grown out of this place.
“Not yet. It’ll come to me, I think, when we get closer. Whatever it ends up being, I'm excited.” Fiona said, not taking her eyes from her book on magical physiology.
“I see.” Ben said. He had been stuck on the same page of his own book for a while now. The words seemed to mean nothing, and he had kept rereading the same paragraph to grasp what it was saying. He just couldn’t focus on anything else. In eight weeks, she’ll be gone.
“You?” She asked, absentmindedly.
“Well,” He said, and let the sentence hang. He didn’t know how to say what he was thinking. He was nervous. He found himself feeling like that more and more frequently as they closed in on the end of school. He was, quite frankly, terrified. He had no idea how to keep her. He loved her, and he needed her, and he didn’t know what to do with that. She didn’t seem afraid.
“You have something?” Fiona set down her book to look at him. She had a wide smile. She couldn’t contain her excitement to hear his ideas. For months she’d been trying to give him inspiration on what to do post-school. Mountain climbing. Culinary arts. Jewelry making. Politics. They had discussed a thousand different life paths, making up stories for each version of Ben who chose them. It helped them fall asleep at night, passing the baton back and forth on what happens next until one of them goes quiet with sleep.
“It’s… it’s something, alright.” Ben said flatly. Fiona frowned.
“Hey, whatever it is, we’ve thought of worse. I mean for a moment we considered you staying here as a teacher. The look on your face as we realized you’d have to deal with little shits like Maleki and Jessie for the rest of your life was unlike any other.” Fiona laughed.
“That was bad.” He smiled. There was another moment where neither of them spoke, Fiona waiting to hear his idea. Fiona motioned for him to speak. She wasn’t joking around anymore, seeing the look of true apprehension in his eyes. She liked to be light-hearted, but never backed away from a serious conversation. She respected him that way.
“It’s alright, Ben. I won’t judge you, of course not. Whatever it is, I'll be your biggest fan while you pursue it. You know I will.” She said, and he met her eyes. They undid him.
“Come back to the Ranch with me.” He said.
“Yeah, we can do that. I’d love to see the horses before we go. I think your dad will really like that, too. He’s a lot more sentimental than he seems, so you better hug him before you go, too. Even if he doesn’t initiate it first. You’ll be glad you did.”
“No, Fiona.”
“Trust me-”
“Come back to the ranch with me.”
“I don’t understand, Ben.” Fiona’s eyebrows knitted as her brain worked quickly behind her eyes. She flicked her gaze between both of his eyes, searching for something to give her more.
“We can stay there, take it over. My dad’s getting old. My brother can’t do it alone.” Ben said. He was trying not to cry. He hated this feeling. He never felt this vulnerable around Fiona, even when being vulnerable with her he never felt that way because she never made him question if she’d understand. She wasn’t understanding, right now.
“Ben, you hate the Ranch.” Fiona stated, like maybe he’d forgotten.
“You love it.” He said
Fiona was silent for a moment. She was still. When she spoke again, Ben knew he’d just lost her.
“It’s a cage, Ben. We’ve both always known that.” Her voice was a little bit harder than it had been before. She felt what she’d always known about Ben coming apart at the seams. She couldn’t understand how he could suggest that, think that, even.
“You’ve always loved it, though.” Ben had tears gathering in his eyes.
“Because it was never my cage, Ben! And I always knew you could get out. I trusted that you would. You would mean to make it my cage!” She raised her voice, like maybe he would snap out of it if she just said it louder.
“I’m in love with you!” Ben yelled back like an accusation. He was losing her, he was losing her, he had already lost her and he needed her to not be lost, he needed her not to leave him.
“You aren’t! How could you say that? You think you are, you can’t be. I can’t be with you.” Fiona yelled.
“Fiona, I have been in love with you ever since you sat at my table. I’ve wanted to be yours and you mine since that first summer together. I haven’t been able to live without you ever since you let me know you and agreed to know me.” He yelled back, grabbing her hand desperately.
“You’ll have to, because how can you ever claim to know me if you think I'd come with you, be your happy wife on your happy farm and have your happy kids? How could you ask that of me, if you know me? If you love me? You know how that idea rots my soul, you know how that would kill me faster than any knife. You don’t love me, not if you wish that of me.” Fiona said, standing up. She brushed nothing off of her skirt, smoothing it out. Her propriety came out when she was upset, he noted vaguely, endeared even now.
“I thought maybe you’d love me too,” He said softly, voice cracking. “I thought you’d love me enough for that to be enough.”
Fiona was crying, too, now. “I don’t. It’s not.” The words fell out of her mouth. She turned towards the door and left quickly. She stopped briefly at the librarian, Sitha. She uttered a quick apology for the noise and hugged her goodbye. She decided she wouldn’t stay. She couldn’t.
She had made a friend. She had lost that friend and experienced her second heartbreak by 16. Always ahead of the curve. Her first was her parents, watching her mother hold her father upright the night before she left for good. She watched them grieve her. “We can only love her by letting her go,” Her mother had said. Fiona cried with them. She hadn’t actually realized she was leaving for good. She wanted learning that to change her mind. Fiona still left the next day. She watched her mother’s heart break while her father’s heart froze over. She can still, to this day, feel the empty part of her heart that she had pressed into her mother when she hugged her goodbye, hoping it would mend her cracks. She left a piece of her heart in Ben’s hand, too, when she ripped herself away and left him in their library. Now, she could feel an extra missing part, while she sat upright in her cot, next to an empty one that still smelled like Rosie. This was what being left behind feels like, she thought, and felt the empty inside her. She pulled her heart closer to her chest.

Trying to remember a few random design gags I had for the Raildex verse.
Misaki and Evie's roommate arms race being a parallel to Kuroko and Mikoto sharing a dorm...
They have more of a platonic sibling relationship now, but Evie used to drive Misaki nuts.
Not that Evie meant it, but... Well... When you haven't had much interaction with other kids your age and the first thing you pick up on makes you want to latch on and say it's going to be all right... It can be a bit annoying.
Despite all the trappings of riches and glamour, Evie knows much more about what Misaki is experiencing than she looks...
The Kihara see the Lancaster family as kin, yett... The Lancaster group sees them more as the yappy family dog that keeps piddling in the carpet.
No idea what Aleister thinks about Evie's role in all the schemes... Especially he knew about her involvement in the events that killed her parents and she's more capable than she appears. On the other hand, she is essentially being raised to be his backup...
The disguise that Evie uses while volunteering at the hospital gives her a somewhat humorous resemblance to a healthier version of Misaka Worst in a nurse uniform.
While both Misaki and Heaven Canceler know about it, they have different opinions. The sisters find it soothing and treat her like an honorary big sister.
Accelerator has met Evie in her disguise at the hospital as the doctor would have brought her into assist with the diagnosis and make calibrations. Although, he just thinks she's another Misaka clone like Worst.
Not idea how Mikoto would handle meeting her while volunteering though... An extra "clone" would be a bit much.
No idea if Worst or Last Order would tell Accelerator about Evie... Outside of the whole big sister angle... Since the unranked esper is a bit of a secret.
Generally, while marked as a level 5 at this point... She's kind of a representation of the problem with the Level tanking system.
The kind of computing power required to power an ability like hers would be unimaginably intense, but the best they can muster, let alone measure are level 5s as reference...
So... I'd say if they were to just stick her somewhere, they'd probably stick her one step above the bottom, but... If they were able to force her to fight the other level 5s, she'd swiftly knock Accelerator off the top.
However, she's seen enough of what Accelerator is going through is that she's debating if pushing him out of position is mercy or cruelty... And it's not like she wants to fight anyone.
As for Lancaster Group antics, they know that she's actually capable of far more, but she's stubbornly refusing to repeat what she did to Prometheus when she was only ten years old... So they've been scheming to try to pressure her into expressing that power again.
Reality Break... The real version isn't the kind of thing you want to mess with, but well... If Kihara are like domesticated pets, the Lancaster group is more like their wild and vastly more wily and willful counterparts.
They're more likely to dupe another party into setting her off and just watch the chaos from a safe distance. Why get involved when you can make someone else suffer for you.
No idea what Misaki 's circle of friends think of Evie... The wild card of Tokiwadai. I mean... They know she gets along well with Misaki... Even though they do scuffle at times... But it's more harmless fun these days.
If Evie gets involved with Judgement... She probably is handled with more respect than Mikoto... But... I'm not sure if she'd volunteer regularly.
While not a Gekota fan herself, she is somewhat popular among the Gekota fans... To the point that she's liable to joke that she feels like a dealer in merchandise. Not that it's the only thing she's negotiated from time to time.
Dark red isn't actually her natural hair color, it's more of a silvery white... Platinum blonde tone... It's been that way since the incident, but she hides it using her ability.
No idea if Misaki has seen it... Since they're usually pretty comfortable around each other and they are roommates. If course, Evie has played the role of Misaki's body double as well, so who knows?
Evie definitely knows about the tiny replica of Misaki that she keeps in their room in the dorms. She has a bit of a habit of doting on her whenever regular Misaki isn't around.
Thinking on it... Everyone that meets Evie probably has a different impression of her depending on if she's lone or near someone she's sort of adopted.
Like... One side, you get this mellow, professional young lady that is quiet and polite overall... Then you see her hanging out with Misaki or the sisters.
When she's with a family she can trust, she tends to open up and express more... Even if she can be awkward at times.
The magic side does carry similar feelings to the science side... When they are aware of her, but the science side is limiting access.
Aleister likely knows enough to find her of interest... But I'm not sure what his opinion of her might be. There aren't many factions that would pick up that there's more going on than a freak case of an esper being able to freely use magic without harming themselves doing it.
Especially since Aiwass and Coronzon would be weirdly fascinated by her. Not that they could comprehend what they are looking at... Only that there is something...
No idea how they would handle it though... Like would Lola Stuart try to approach and recruit or...
I'm kind of crazy rambling here.

Whoops I forgot to post, save organize these, so the blogging will be a mess/// one volume at a time though, one at a time
SO ANYWAY, second one.
Bring tissues and something to lower blood pressure because some parts will have the goo in your vessels boiling and not everyone gets their just desserts - yet.
One thing to point out in general is that this volume is very flashback heavy and all of these are depressing, really. The order of things is basically as follows: crying, laughing, gay, mission impossible, intermission, well shit, angry, and crying. Has a snot framing, if you like.
I'd say it's a solid 8.0 as the three flashbacks come with a windfall of flavor text, though this is also the reason they are enjoyable short stories of their own. I wasn’t all that into the middle one, though. Maybe obecause of its fragmented structure. Oh, and gay rating is 5 bc there's like one kith but then not really. It's the only real breather in the whole shebang so savor it.
So, quick characters update. But mostly for the supporting cast because Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji are doing their usual shenanigans and gay panic until the last chapter. All in all, Wei Wuxian is hella embarrassed about tween him and slowly he's beginning his own gay panic. It's funny. Also it turns out he semi-accidentally started a revolution. As he would… and as he should. He’s also a very good teacher, I really respect that.
The first person, or rather group I’d like to talk about is the Xiao gang,,, A-Qing is among the bravest people around and I hope her and Xiao will be okay, although I'm not worried because they are in good hands. Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind. That's all. (Fuck, I'm crying again,,,, moving swiftly along,)
(theirs is the best flashback imo)
Xue Yang gives me like,,, especially warped Toga Himiko vibes if you know what I mean. At one point, he has no way to get the “candy” he so desperately wants and the realization is where he really goes crazy, obsessed with that victim to the point of mimicking him as best as he can. Whether it's for revenge still, or a way to make the victim out to be something he wanted him to be, OR even vica versa, envying what the other had and wanting to become more like the other(s), is left hanging in the air. He’s probably doing his own weird roleplaying gig out here in his personal shrek swamp and has long lost contact with the outside world.
He definitely deserves what he has coming, but with the little additional things sprinkled in, it is still just… sad and regrettable. I think we'll hear from him in the future, one way or another(TM).
Jin Ling is even younger than I thought?? (Fifteen instead of seventeen, dude. Fifteen. You have no business running off alone, kiddo.) and has never ceased worrying me. He's confused and angry and I don't blame him for what's happened.
Speaking of Jin Ling, the thing I want to keep him away from the most is his uncle. The other one. As in, the other one who is officially his uncle. That guy is a deranged control freak and it's definitely in him to either kill the kid himself or have someone else do it for him. Or trick them into doing it. Someone else I'm not gonna name again had to learn the nuances of these things somewhere. I hope this mofo will be the first real victim to Jin Ling's new trick, hell, I want it to be the thing to tip the scales. After all, he isn't supposed to know that.
I'm glad the Lan boys are not around to see this shitstorm. They've had enough to deal with for the time being.
I really like Wen Ning, hope he becomes permanent comic relief. Mainly because as of right now, I desperately need either that or some soft bonding time. Him and Wei Wuxian seem like the best of friends and it warms my torn little heart. I'm also wondering how they met because the Wen name certainly does not scream friendly or nice, but he sure seems to be. I imagine him having, like, the softest voice for some reason...
Anyhow, later the Wen duches do pop out of the woodworks and yeah they definitely are no good news, hell, along with uncle, they are the most despicable kind of people up till now. The reason is as simple as posing as heroes when they are actually unabashed villains
I will also disclose my opinion that young Mo Xuanyu may have been a victim of something other than just getting outed and promptly ostracized. He either made a mistake to get mad or got the pointy end of something to “help” him there. Explains it more than anything else.
Anyway, cat's out of the bag and we are kinda on the run now.

note 2. had to repost because something was up with the tags lol i hope it works fine this time
Tumblr media
ATSUMU.
- the team has a favorite twin and it’s osamu, we all know it
- one day after practice, the team finds out that one of the first-years managed to get a girlfriend
- most of the inarizaki vb team is single at that point in time so it starts a conversation about relationships
- somewhere in the conversation, aran says, “osamu, man. I can’t believe ya haven’t gotten a girlfriend yet. yer easily one of the best-looking people in the school.”
- osamu just shrugs, but atsumu’s like “huh??”
- “hey ‘samu and i have the same face. don’t cha mean that we’re some of the best-looking people in the school??”
- the guys in the locker room exchange glances
- aran‘s like “look, atsumu. don’t blow up on me or anything, but most girls don’t really want to date you.” (keep in mind that aran’s strictly speaking about the girls that aren’t a part of the miya twins fan club)
- “and why the hell not?”
- at this point, aran’s looking at literally everyone in the room and pleading with his eyes for help because he doesn’t want to start a fight with atsumu
- suna takes pity on aran and says, “hate to break it you, miya, but girls don’t want to date a guy who’s a massive asshole”
- now, atsumu could care less if the entire goddamn world thinks he’s an asshole, but it rubs him the wrong way that his teammates think that osamu’s a better catch than he is
- sibling rivalry pride or whatever
- so atsumu goes “i think my girlfriend would disagree because oh will ya look at that, she’s dating me!”
- he was most definitely not dating anyone
- osamu raises an eyebrow at him because to his knowledge, atsumu didn’t have a girlfriend
- “since when did you have a girlfriend?”
- osamu looks at atsumu with knowing eyes and smirks. “yeah sumu, who’s this girlfriend of yours? I don’t think i’ve met her yet.”
- atsumu knows he’s gotten himself in some deep shit
- but still he’s still full of pride, so he says, “i’ll bring her by to practice tomorrow.”
- now miya atsumu has a dilemma because there are some things he just shouldn’t lie about (because now he’ll never live it down if he can’t figure out a way to get himself out of this one)
- atsumu knows that he’s got that fanclub that would probably be more than willing to date him, but the thought of being in their presence for longer than two seconds makes his skin crawl because he doesn’t think he could handle the excessive screaming
- so that night he decides to go to the bakery down the street that he frequents because they have some of the best macarons in town
- you’re one of the bakers at that bakery that works the shift when he usually comes in for his weekly macarons so you two are acquainted
- you also go to inarizaki, so you hear the rumors that circulate around atsumu, but you don’t really pay much attention to them because he’s not that bad whenever he comes into the bakery
- like sometimes if he tries to only order 2 macarons but notices that there are only 5 macarons left, he’ll buy them all just to make your life easier
- when he comes in that day, he has this troubled look on his face. “hey y/n. can i just have my usual? oh and an iced matcha.”
- you like to keep tabs on your regulars and what they order, so when he orders an iced matcha, you know that something’s probably up (he never orders drinks from there because he said that his brother would kill him if he didn’t bring him home a drink too and having to carry the two drinks up to their apartment is hassle enough)
- you’re in the middle of making his drink when you decide to ask him what’s up “everything alright?”
- it’s almost time to close up and you two are the only two left so you figured you had time for small talk
- “i may have outright lied to my team about havin’ a girlfriend.”
- “you don’t?” that surprises you because so many girls at your school have a crush on the miya twins (you would know because your best friend is practically in love with osamu)
- when atsumu shakes his head dejectedly, you don’t quite understand what he’s so down for
- “you do know that there are like 50 girls that are practically lining up to date you right?”
- “yeah, but they’d expect a real relationship and i’m no good at those.”
- “why not?”
- “i’m too argumentative, let's just say, plus i’ve been told that i kinda come off as an asshole.”
- “and volleyball right?” you would know since he always comes into the bakery after a practice and he looks like he’s both dead and alive
- when you hand him his matcha and packet of macarons, he pauses
- “listen, don’t take this the wrong way but yer single right?”
- you almost smile to yourself because wow for a guy so attractive, his way with words isn’t great
- “i am.”
- he stands there for a good 20 seconds just looking at you with that look in his eyes that tells you that he’s trying to ask you something but he doesn’t know how to do it
- “you want me to act as your fake girlfriend don’t you?”
- cue atsumu chuckle @%EUTYDJBCJWER)*&# hhhhfs
- “ya know, i’m kinda seein’ why i get called an asshole all the time. it doesn’t sound as great when ya’ say it like that.”
- you agree to pretend to be his girlfriend, but on the condition that your best friend will be able to tag along if osamu’s gonna be there
- and that’s the start of it
- you visit his practice the next day before work and his team looks at you in surprise because they were 100% sure that having a girlfriend was just another one of atsumu’s lies
- they all kinda stare at you a little extra too because you’re really pretty
- “aye, get yer asses back to volleyball and stop starin’ at my girl like that.”
- you know it’s all fake, but him saying that kinda makes you blush anyways
- when you first agreed to fake dating him, you weren’t expecting that you’d have to spend too much time with him (he did tell you that he wasn’t looking for a real relationship) but that changes because osamu’s insistent that atsumu should at least try to be a good boyfriend and eat lunch with you and stuff
- you’re both aware that osamu doesn’t buy your little arrangement one bit
- atsumu’s got this raging pride when it comes to his twin brother, so he actually listens because now he’s made it his personal mission to convince osamu that you and him are actually dating
- it takes a while for you two to get into the hang of it, but once you do, it’s like a regular routine
- you and your best friend eat lunch with the twins (you and atsumu both watch as your best friend fumbles her way into talking with osamu), you drop by before work to give atsumu a kiss on the cheek before practice, he drops by the bakery after practice nearly everyday, and you come to his games while wearing a jersey that he lent you
- his teammates like you a lot and tease atsumu all the time because they claim that you’re way too good for him
- surprisingly, he always gets a little protective when they say things like that and always slips an arm around your waist
- one day when you’re over at his apartment, you help atsumu learn how to make macarons (with some help from osamu)
- it takes a while because he would get mad at the macarons when they would come out in weird shapes
- “stupid macarons! they got it out for me i’m tellin’ ya! they’re being like that on purpose!”
- LITERALLY A CHILD
- you learn to like that about him though
- dates with him are usually on the weekends (you both drag osamu and your best friend out with you) and it’s always something fun that osamu suggests because atsumu wasn’t joking when he said he sucks at real relationships
- most of these dates consist of holding hands as you walk around the streets until osamu sees a restaurant he wants to try out
- he always insists on feeding you at least once in your meal
- he also loves doing the walrus-chopsticks face?? (he only started doing it because he liked hearing you laugh)
- as time passes, you two start going on dates without osamu and your best friend (atsumu always claims that it’s because he wants to show osamu up, but you start to notice that osamu doesn’t even find out about these dates most of the time)
- you secretly like these dates better than those with osamu and your best friend because atsumu feels more at ease and will develop a softer tone around you during these dates
- eventually, he starts to always greet you with a forehead kiss whenever you’re in public (you’re not sure if he does it just because his brother is watching, or if maybe he might be starting to like you)
- you try to make your brain forget that most of the time, he kisses your forehead before osamu even walks in
- one day after practice, you’re waiting for him because you didn’t have a shift at the bakery that day
- he walks out of the club room looking mildly pissed and you’re a little wary
- but then he gets to where you’re standing and just pulls your waist towards him and full on kisses you
- mind you, this is your first kiss on the lips with him
- it’s not a quick peck either, like you can hear the wolf whistles from his teammates in the back and you’re left breathing hard and flushed pink afterwards
- damn if that’s what his kisses are like, you suddenly wish he’d do it more often
- “what was that for?”
- “nothin’”
- sometime in the future you find out that he did that because his teammates were once again talking about your relationship and one of them joked that atsumu paid you to pretend to be his girlfriend
- he knew that what you had wasn’t necessarily real, but he just had the urge to kiss you then (he swears to you that he doesn’t know why)
- he does know why. it was because it was starting to slip his mind that your relationship was fake and the reminder made him a little mad at himself
- he realizes that maybe he’s fallen in love with you when osamu brings it up
- atsumu had asked for osamu’s help because he wanted to surprise you by making you mochis for your upcoming four month anniversary of being his fake girlfriend (typing this out was so funny, this man is so whipped he doesn’t know it)
- “ya know, when i first met y/n, i was sure that it was all fake and that you’d slip up about it one day. i guess i was wrong.”
- atsumu doesn’t say anything to that because in his head he’s trying to convince himself that “no. this is all still fake.” but it’s hard to convince himself of that when his hands are covered in the rice flower that he’s using to make your favorite dessert for your four months of faking being together
- he tries not to think about what osamu said when he gives you the gifts later that night
- he tries not to think about it when he gets that funny feeling that he’s been feeling for a while now when he sees the way you light up upon opening the box of mochis
- he most definitely tries not to think about it when you accidentally give him your second kiss of the relationship because you were caught up in the spur of the moment
- it’s on the way home back to his apartment that night that he realizes he’s fucked
- because good god he’s fallen for you
- he tries to break it off after that
- you’re confused at how sudden it is, but you let him break it off because at that point you’re already in love with him and are still too scared to say it because you keep remembering how he always said that he didn’t want a real relationship
- IDIOTS IN LOVE YOU'RE BOTH SO .
- he tries to go back to normal after that
- but for the love of everything he just . can’t
- his eyes always linger a little too long on the door right before practice because you would always come see him before going to work
- his feet would instinctively move in the direction of the bakery after practices until he realizes what he’s doing and forces himself to go home
- his eyes would scan for your figure wearing his jersey during games until he remembers that you probably weren’t there and that you most definitely wouldn’t be wearing his jersey
- he wants to kick himself because the reason he asked you to be his fake girlfriend in the first place was because he didn’t want a real relationship
- yet here he was. wallowing because if there’s anything more he wants, it’s a real relationship with you
- osamu gets fed up with him eventually
- “take yer ass to the bakery right after practice. i’m not letting you into the apartment until you see her.”
- and surprisingly, he actually listens to his twin brother
- he walks into the bakery for the first time in a while and says “hey y/n. can i just have my usual? oh and an iced matcha.”
- you look up at him then because you vividly remember that night. how could you not?
- you’re in the middle of making his drink when you decide to ask him what’s up “everything alright?”
- “i may have outright lied to myself about loving you.”
- you nearly drop the drink in your hands
- “‘tsumu? what are you on about?”
- “i know i said that i’m no good at real relationships. but i’ve found that i want to learn to be good.”
- a pause
- “i want to learn with ya.”
Tumblr media
OIKAWA.
- this poor boy is always the butt of the jokes that come from his team
- seriously though. it’s always “tease oikawa day” (he teases them back so it’s all good)
- but one day, they’re all in the locker room when hanamaki brings up this girl that he’s planning on asking out because he’s not sure how to do it
- oikawa, being the little shit that he is, goes “step one, makki. have my face. step two, have my amazing personality. step three, ask her out.”
- he barely ducks in time to miss the shoe that comes flying towards his head
- “makki! such unbecoming behavior! my advice is perfect!”
- matsukawa snorts and says “perfect advice my ass. you can’t even get anyone to like you. let alone go out with you, crappykawa.”
- “don’t spread lies, mattsun.” oikawa clicks his tongue like a mother scolding his child. “or do you seem to forget the dozens of confessions i get on the daily along with the girls that you three complain about all the time because ugh shittykawa’s gonna make us late if he keeps talking to them” (he’s so dramatic lol he says that last part in this weird, whiny voice)
- iwaizumi scoffs. “doesn’t count when you reject every single one.”
- “i do not!”
- “right. right. as if you don’t make them cry because you’re so nice about rejecting them too.” (oikawa frowns at that one because he doesn’t mean to make them cry)
- “yeah, shittykawa, you’re pretty bad at love in general. i’d die before listening to your advice.” (this one is from matsukawa)
- “there’s also the fact that the girlfriend’s you did have all broke up with you because you would rather cuddle with a volleyball than cuddle with them.” (this one is from hanamaki)
- oikawa scowls at them “i don’t cuddle my volleyball.”
- “sure you don’t. just like you most definitely don’t have a name for it either.”
- “leave iwa-chan the second out of this!” (he drew an angry face on his volleyball too because he claims it looks like iwaizumi)
- iwaizumi groans. “i hate you. so so much.”
- at this point, oikawa knows they’re right, but he’s also really prideful. “and besides. i would suggest taking my advice because i got a girlfriend just today!”
- he most definitely did not
- “sure you did. hey mattsun, i bet a week tops until she breaks up with him.”
- “nah i’ll bet five days.”
- after practice, oikawa came up with a plan for the next day to get himself out of the hole he dug for himself
- he usually got confessions before school, so he told iwaizumi that he was going to school early to practice and instead waited for a girl to confess to him
- but the moment he saw this second-year walk up to him with a little box, he knew he wouldn’t be able to do it
- he couldn’t do that to this innocent girl
- and he tries to say yes to her. he really does.
- but he can practically hear his older sister’s voice yelling at him about how “even when you get popular and get confessions from people left and right, i don’t want you leading anyone on. you only accept a confession if you actually like them.”
- he’s probably more scared of his sister than he is of his own mother, so he says no to that second-year, even when she starts to frown and walk away
- he’s leaning against the gym and rubbing the bridge of his nose when he hears you
- “everything alright?”
- you two were pretty close because he found out that you had a crush on iwaizumi in your second year and tried to set you two up (it didn’t work because he’s pretty bad at being a wingman)
- even when iwaizumi rejected you, oikawa had already grown to like your presence, so you two stayed friends despite how his best friend broke your heart
- “y/n-chan! what are you doing here so early?”
- “just returning a book to the library before the librarian knocks down my door and kicks my ass for having an overdue library book. what are you doing here so early?”
- “would you believe me if i said that i was practicing volleyball?”
- you look him up and down, and the smell of fresh cologne reaches your nostrils. his uniform is neatly put together.
- “looking like that? no, no i would not.”
- “well, what would you believe?”
- “i don’t know .. the truth maybe?”
- “the truth is embarrassing and is defamation to my good name.” that makes you raise your brow at him.
- “okay now i only want to hear the truth. i will not accept anything but the truth. now tell me, what kind of embarrassment have you proved yourself to be this morning?”
- “so mean, y/n-chan! now i see why you so very adored our precious iwa-chan.”
- you groan because you don’t want to remember that rejection. “oh just hurry up and embarrass yourself instead of embarrassing me.”
- “but it’s quite embarrassing.”
- “come on, spit it out.”
- “i may or may not have told iwa-chan, makki, and mattsun that i have a girlfriend when i don’t have one.”
- you look at him like he’s the dumbest person you’ve ever met, because at that moment, you really believed that he was. “couldn’t you just … i don’t know … accept one of your many, many confessions?”
- oikawa tells you about his fear of his sister and the second-year that just confessed to him
- you find yourself admiring his sister because she’s probably the one person on this planet that can humble oikawa tooru (the next person to be able to do so will be you, but you don’t know that yet)
- after hearing his explanation you get an idea. “can’t you ask someone to fake being in a relationship with you? you know, so you don’t get the angry sister devil/angel thing on your shoulder?” (LOL if you don’t get what the angel/devil thing that i’m talking about is, it’s like when you have an imaginary angel and a devil that sits on your shoulders and criticizes every choice you make)
- “are you offering, y/n?” he has that shit-eating grin on his face again, so you know he’s mostly joking
- “hmm, i don’t know. i think you’ll have to formally ask me to be your fake girlfriend. it’s only polite after all.”
- oikawa blinks for a second because he didn’t actually think you were serious. “what?”
- “are you going to ask me to be your fake girlfriend or not? maybe throw in a flower and i’ll say yes.”
- oh. oh.
- well, he wasn’t going to let what might be his only opportunity to get someone to fake date him pass by
- he looks around and sees a small flower on the ground and picks it
- he takes both your hands and puts the flower in one of them before saying, “y/n-chan will you, take me, oikawa tooru, as your loving pretend boyfriend, and save me from irrevocable embarrassment?”
- you laugh in his face because he’s trying so hard not to laugh through his “proposal.”
- “minus points for not getting on one knee but i guess i do.”
- you mainly did it because you may have already gotten rejected by iwaizumi, but you did like the possibility of being friends with him, and fake dating oikawa would probably let you do that
- you also kind of felt bad for oikawa, knowing that he wasn’t exaggerating how embarrassing it would be if his teammates found out he was lying
- when you and oikawa walk up to the seijoh third-years while holding hands, makki and mattsun are jostling each other while iwaizumi looks mildly surprised
- “see matsun! pay up!”
- oikawa and you both look in surprise as mattsun reluctantly shoves a few bills into makki’s awaiting hand
- oikawa’s looking between them both. “what bet did you use me for this time?”
- “i bet mattsun that you and y/n secretly liked each other.”
- blink blink
- iwaizumi sees the mildly awkward situation brewing so he says, “anyways, y/n if you ever get tired of this dumbass, you’re more than welcome into our group. we’ll just kick oikawa out.”
- after that, you and oikawa fall into a dating routine easily (you have a pretty busy schedule too so both you and oikawa understand each other schedules well)
- usually this is where oikawa’s relationships fail. he spends so much time with volleyball and the team that he doesn’t really spend time with his significant others
- it’s different with you though. maybe it’s the fact that the stakes aren’t so high because it’s only a fake relationship after all, or maybe it’s because unlike his past significant others, you don’t mind spending most of your time and “dates” with the other seijoh third-years, or maybe it’s because he remembers that locker room conversation and he wants to prove to makki, mattsun, and iwaizumi that he can be a good boyfriend (even if it’s a good fake boyfriend)
- dates with oikawa are usually laid-back because he’s tired from practice (so like walks in the park, getting ice cream, or study dates where you don’t get much done because you spend most of it just laughing and cooking in his kitchen)
- you find that he’s secretly a decent cook (the only thing keeping from saying that he’s a good cook is because he can’t cut vegetables for his life, and he also managed to accidently burn the onions you were trying to caramelize).
- neither of you acknowledge the fact that since nobody’s there to see those dates, you two technically don’t have to go on them since it’s only a fake relationship
- oh and takeru LOVES you
- seriously. he thinks you’re probably the coolest person ever (he tells you one day that he thinks you’re even cooler than oikawa and oikawa is a pouting mess the rest of your day. you can only pull him out of his slump when you jump on his back and force him to run to the bakery and buy milk bread)
- sometimes you’ll come with oikawa when he needs to watch takeru
- as takeru teaches you how to receive a volleyball, oikawa will watch you two with a little smile on his face (this loser is so whipped like man people passing by reminisce on how they were young and in love once because oikawa looks at you like that. oikawa doesn’t notice that he’s doing it though.)
- you sometimes spend time at his house with iwaizumi or on select days just by yourself (mostly for study dates or for watching weird sci-fi movies that oikawa seems to love)
- since you’re at his house so often, oikawa’s mother takes a liking to you because “you finally got her boy to care about something that isn’t volleyball.”
- it’s when oikawa groans a “moooom” in response that you start to feel those pesky butterflies
- oikawa will run up to you after games and just hold you tightly (he tells himself that it’s because his fan club and the team are watching, but really it’s because he can’t thank you enough for being there because he just plays better when you’re watching)
- my god, dUDE . he has no idea that he loves you like . MAN .
- mattsun, makki, and iwaizumi always tease oikawa about how you’re so much cooler than him
- oikawa whines to you and says, “y/n-channn they’re being mean again!”
- “what do you want me to do about it?”
- oikawa pouts like the baby he is and says, “kiss,” while pointing to his cheek. you give in and a round of groans comes from mattsun and makki. oikawa looks so smug and those pesky stomach feelings come back. iwaizumi is smiling to himself.
- speaking of iwaizumi
- you two become best friends after he finds you looking dejected as you wait for oikawa to get out of practice. you confided with him about how your relationship was all pretend. you might have also told him that you may be teensy bit in love with his captain
- iwaizumi tells you that, “there are some things you just ... can’t fake. the way that shithead looks at you is one of them. trust me.”
- he also tells you that his suspicion that you and oikawa had this weird spark was what kept him from ever reciprocating your feelings and why he rejected you (oikawa literally tried being your wingman before by texting iwaizumi things like “did you see how pretty y/n was today? don’t you think she was pretty?” and “iwa-chan! y/n is so funny and that’s coming from me, so she really is funny! i think maybe you should talk to her to see what i’m talking about (≧◡≦)”)
- at this point everyone knows that you’re in love with oikawa for real (except for oikawa himself)
- everyone also knows that oikawa’s fallen for you (except for oikawa himself, and you because you refuse to believe it)
- the moment he realizes he’s in love with you is on another one of those dates that you both know you don’t have to have but still choose to have anyway
- you’re making milk bread and he’s helping to measure the ingredients when he turns around to see you covered in flour and he just kinda stops
- and he realizes
- like yeah he’s been getting that small tugging feeling with you a lot over these past few months
- but now he finally realizes it’s because he’s in love with you
- he’s staring for a long time and for a second you think he’s going to make fun of your flour-coated self, but he’s staring at you with that look and you’re confused
- “everything okay? is there something wrong? did you mess up the measurements?”
- then an idea hits him
- “something’s wrong. it’s kind of embarassing though.”
- “what is it?”
- “no but it’s really embarrassing.”
- “what .. what is it?”
- cue cheeky little grin. “i think i might’ve fallen in love with my fake girlfriend. i don’t have another flower to ask her out though. i hope she doesn’t say no.”
- you kiss him for the first time then and take pride in the fact that you get him covered in flour in the process

KUROO.
- it happened the second day that you were at the tokyo training camp
- kuroo was with bokuto and a few of the karasuno first-years when bokuto started telling the first-years that kuroo had a girlfriend because he saw kuroo helping you carry your bags the day before (listen . this man is like . clueless when it comes to emotions sometimes i’msosorry)
- kuroo got this confused look on his face because he thought he would remember getting a girlfriend. “i do?”
- “don’t you? remember the girl you were holding hands with yesterday?”
- this was all some big misunderstanding
- so basically what happened was this: you’re shinzen’s team manager and you were tasked with carrying bags of equipment to the training center. kuroo was waiting for kenma to finish talking with lev (more like trying to avoid though lmao) and noticed that you were struggling so he came over to help
- kuroo figured that bokuto must’ve seen him holding the bags for you and assumed that something must’ve been going on (or maybe he looked over for the split second when kuroo held your hand in order to transfer the bags to his hand)
- he was about to clear things up when lo and behold, you walked into the gym
- “kuroo look! it’s your girlfriend! hey, come join us!”
- bless bokuto’s soul. bless that poor, oblivious soul.
- you walked up to them and looked at kuroo like “what??”
- you remembered him from the day before, but you didn’t remember ever agreeing to being his girlfriend of any sort
- he smiled apologetically at you and asked to talk to you on the side
- “what’s going on? why did he call me your .. girlfriend?”
- “look i’m sorry, bo’s a little … i don’t know. he saw me carrying your bags yesterday and assumed. i’ll clear things up, don’t worry.”
- when you two headed back to where bokuto is standing, it was obvious that kuroo’s smooth-sailing explanation wasn’t happening anytime soon
- because lev was there, and so was yaku
- “KUROO-SENPAI? THIS IS YOUR GIRLFRIEND? SHE’S VERY PRETTY SENPAI!” (bless lev’s soul too. another part of the extremely oblivious club.)
- yaku took no hesitation in teasing kuroo. “since when does kuroo ever get any girl to like him? this is new. no offense, of course.”
- kuroo tried clearing up the air by saying, “guys- listen this has all been som-“
- hinata doesn’t let him finish either lmao “YOU’RE THE TEAM MANAGER FOR SHINZEN!” (extremely oblivious club member number 3 here)
- “a team manager, kuroo? what’d you do to get her to say yes? is she a chemistry nerd too?”
- “bo-“
- they kinda just went like that back and forth, and kuroo kept getting interrupted
- you were just laughing to the side because it was kind of funny
- you also kinda felt bad for kuroo because damn his friends had like no faith in his romantic skills at all??
- maybe that was what made you say it, but after his friends were done teasing him you said, “he’s kind of a catch though, don’t you think? nerdy and funny is a girl’s dream isn’t that what they say?”
- kuroo blinked at you because what??
- once kuroo got you alone by asking you to take a walk outside of the gym, he asked, “so … what does this make us?” (surprise, surprise, he never got the chance to tell them about the misunderstanding)
- you just shrugged because really how bad could this be? “i felt bad at how much they were teasing you, so we could keep up the fake boyfriend/girlfriend thing for the week. it shouldn’t be too bad. plus it’ll save you the embarrassment of having to tell your friends that you didn’t actually get a girlfriend.”
- you guys did pretty good for the week of the training camp
- you’d cheer him on in secret if he got a spike or a block during a practice game while simultaneously still watching shinzen’s game
- you two walked around the halls when bokuto was watching just to keep up pretenses
- you learned that he’s a major nerd during these walks, which you found really endearing
- on the last day of camp, he tried to throw pieces of broccoli in your mouth (he didn’t stop until he finally got it in after his 9th try)
- you guys initially planned to “break up” after the camp was over
- but here comes bokuto again
- “hey y/n! kuroo, akaashi, and i were gonna go out for karaoke tomorrow if you wanna join.”
- you grew to like bokuto too so you said you’d come
- it was actually a really fun night
- you and kuroo sang a duet together
- he also stole some of your ramen
- you took a video of bokuto as he serenaded akaashi
- when you guys are leaving to go home, bokuto goes “you two are so cute. y/n do me a favor and don’t break up with kuroo until after the qualifiers would you? i wanna play him at his full game.” (again. seriously, he basically is the greatest accidental wingman ever)
- “we can’t break his heart, can we?”
- “no, we can’t.”
- and so your fake relationship starts
- you don’t get to visit each other often because you don’t live in the same vicinity, but you guys text often (it’s a friend thing, you both swear to yourselves)
- on weekends when kuroo’s not spending time with kenma, he’ll ask you to meet him at a park or a cafe (you two always send selfies to bokuto during every date)
- dates with him are always really fun because he’s spontaneous and also very active so sometimes he’ll take you by the hand and just drag you places
- he is not afraid to smear different colors of ice cream on your nose and call you some obscure name from some really old movie that he may have watched that week
- he also makes you push him on the swings
- the little kids get mad because what is this rooster man doing taking up a swing when he’s so old
- you laugh at him when the kids eventually come up to him and ask if they can use the swing
- dates will usually last the whole day because you’re both fine with just walking around and randomly finding stuff to do
- with all that time spent talking, you two also get to know each other really well
- like basically your life stories
- it took him a while to open up and at first he insists that you tell your story first, but after a while you notice how he starts letting little things about his life slip here and there until he starts telling you bigger portions
- you also get really close with kenma
- not close close the way him and kuroo are, but kenma would probably see you as his second closest friend
- that’s why sometimes kenma tags along with you guys (it doesn’t feel like third wheeling or anything because both you and kuroo enjoy kenma’s presence as much as each other’s)
- eventually, once you two got the hang of it, you’re like the couple that everyone likes
- because you’re both pretty funny and overall just have nice vibes
- his team starts to call you mom and dad as a joke because sometimes when shinzen doesn’t have practice, you’ll stop by at nekoma at the end of practice just to say hi
- they’re not wrong about the mom and dad thing though (it’s a really cute dynamic though i swear)
- your team used to not like him at first because they were protective of you, but eventually they reluctantly warmed up to him
- they threatened to demolish him if he hurt you though
- LMAO ANYWAYS .. MOVING ON
- you guys have lots of study dates too!!
- since you’re both busy because of volleyball related things, a lot of your schedule lines up with each other (this also means that kuroo knows when you haven’t had time to study)
- you’ll be sitting on his bed on your stomach with your legs draped across his thighs as you read your textbook and he’ll be sitting against his bed frame reading one of his assigned readings (i also like to think that kuroo has glasses for these readings that only you and kenma have seen)
- sometimes, when you finish studying before he finishes, you’ll come up behind him and just start to play with his hair
- his hair is actually really soft despite looking like a bird built its nest in it
- you also have two of his jackets that are just lying around your house
- he likes when you wear them because he thinks you look so cute (he doesn’t tell you that though)
- after a while, it’s like both of you have forgotten that this was all a ruse just so bokuto wouldn’t get heartbroken after you two break up
- at this point, kuroo has learned all your quirks, habits, and has also memorized your schedule
- like … he doesn’t realize that he’s fallen for you until someone points it out
- he realizes he’s fallen for you on the day that shinzen loses in the tournament (this would be your last match)
- now nekoma just played a game, but kuroo’s first instinct is to check whether or not shinzen won (he’s been doing this for every game in the tournament)
- when he sees that you lost, he knows that you’ll be sad and in need of a pick me up
- as kenma and him are packing up, he says, “shinzen lost today. i probably can’t make it to your house tonight. y/n will probably want to go out with her team for a bit, but she’ll probably crash at my place. do you think i should make her a strawberry cake? or maybe she’ll want onigiri? no, she’ll probably want the cake. she always gets the little smile with her one dimple whenever she eats my strawberry cake. makes me proud.”
- kenma’s just looking at kuroo with arched eyebrows because HIS BEST FRIEND IS WHIPPED
- kuroo doesn’t get why kenma’s looking at him like that because he thinks about things like that all the time. “what??”
- oh kenma knows your relationship is fake
- so he just looks at kuroo and says, “try to refrain getting down on one knee today. i doubt you have a ring, and i’ll bet that y/n will want a confession of you being hopelessly, madly in love with her before you propose by the way.”
- kuroo kind of freezes and blinks at him.
- “wh … what?”
- “kuro, do i really need to spell out for you that you’re totally smitten with her? you have been for a while now.”
- “have not.”
- “yes, you have.”
- “have not.”
- “yes, you have.”
- “have not.”
- “yes, you have.”
- at this point, kuroo knows that kenma’s onto something, but kuroo doesn’t wanna jump to conclusions until he sees you again
- when you knock on his door and run straight into his arms that night, he knows kenma’s right
- like you’re balling into his chest and he gets that feeling that he wants to hold you forever and never let go
- and he knows. he knows.
- after you start to calm down, he offers you the cake that he made just for you
- he swears that he feels ten times lighter after he sees that exact smile with the exact dimple on your face
- now kuroo may be loud, and rambunctious at times, but when he loves, it’s quiet, simple, but not any less there
- as you finish eating the cake, kuroo notices that there’s a few pink crumbs on your lips
- and he kisses you
- like a “slow, hand on the cheek, nose touching after he pulls away” kind of kiss
- “i made a realization today. kenma told me to hold back on proposing, so i’ll go with confessing instead.”
- you’re looking up at him with your heart beating hard in your chest
- “i think you might’ve made me fall in love with you.”
sorry if there are any mistakes lmao i tried catching all of them but ... 6k words ...... yanno. .....

The Crown - Steve Harrington

word count: 4462 warnings: dedicated to @high-functioning-fangirl02 <3
You’d give your life to protect these kids.
These kids you’ve known since you started babysitting them in the sixth grade.  Back when Mrs Henderson hired you to watch Dustin.  Which essentially meant that you’d watch all of them.  But that was alright, over the past seven years of being their designated babysitter, you’d grown to love them all.
Mike Wheeler, the snarky little love-struck shit that you spent grieving with since losing Eleven.  Lucas Sinclair, the sweet boy with the occasional attitude whom you helped construct his Ghostbusters costume. Will Byers, the full time sweetheart that made you cookies for Valentine’s Day after hearing you complain about being dateless.  And of course Dustin, cute little button nosed Dusty with a trash mouthing tendency, whom looked up to you like a role model.
Hell, you were their role model.  Driving them to and from school, covering for them on late nights so they could finish their D&D tournaments.  Fiercely protecting them a year ago when Hawkins was Demogorgon infested.  Standing up for them when you’d see some upperclassmen picking on them.
Those who dared glance the wrong way towards The Party in your presence, were rumored to run home crying with a bleeding nose and terrified shriek.  You never put down the rumors… because maybe it had happened once or twice…
Over time The Party was no longer just a band of middle schoolers.  It had opened up to their babysitter, being you, a senior girl who had not many other friends.  Nancy Wheeler, Jonathan Byers, which the boys always claimed was strictly because of family relations.  Not because Dustin was still harbouring a crush for Mike’s older sister.  The town Sheriff, Jim Hopper, who’d proved himself not to be an asshole, and turned out an alright guy.  Joyce Byers, whom you loved like a mother and whom treated you like her own daughter.  You’d frequently been titled ‘the daughter she wished to have had’ which always raised a snarky response from her sons.  Maxine (just Max.  Never Maxine) Hargrove, a high spirited and not your typical girl that you grew fond of easily.  Especially since she was nothing like her big brother.
And then there was Steve Harrington.  Who… really just was at the wrong place at the wrong time and ended up getting roped into the mess that Hawkins Lab had created.  King Steve, as you’d known him before you’d officially met last year by fluke accident, was always the popular boy that had a pretty girl hanging off his arm.  You weren’t sure why that changed so quickly, why he didn’t put himself out there as much as he used to, didn’t party hard anymore, wasn’t bragging about the new girl he was with that week like he was known for.  Maybe that day, when he walked into the Wheeler’s house right as you Nancy and Jonathan were awaiting the Demogorgon’s arrival, maybe he changed then.
Or maybe it was after he’d been sucked into… whatever this all was… and he changed to keep the secret.  Or maybe it was after Nancy had broken up with him, around the same time he started growing closer to Dustin.
But right now as you watched him directing the kids, you were more aware that he wasn’t King Steve anymore, that you had been before.  Sure, you’d realized somewhere along the way he was different.  But it wasn’t until now that you noticed it completely as it was.
“No listen you little shits, no one, is going anywhere” Steve ordered, holding a wash rag in his hand and pointing it between each of the boys, and girl, that stood in front of him.
“Friggin’ pointless just staying here” Dustin grumbled, walking out of the room whilst still muttering.  Mike groaned loudly, dramatically, and left to the living room with Max and Lucas.  You knew that he was still plotting you get out there tonight.  Consequences and dangers be damned.
You looked to Steve with a sigh, a lazy smile on your lips as you walked past him to go after Dustin.  He watched you go, letting out a breath as well as he put his hands on his hips and standing alone in the hall with his thoughts.
He’d give his life to protect these kids.
“Dusty?” You called gently as you walked into the kitchen, seeing Dustin sitting on the floor against the dishwasher.  Your brows furrowed as you sat across from him by the cabinets.  “You alright kiddo?”
“Would I be sitting in here brooding if I was?” He quipped, though you knew he meant well.
“Sweetheart you’re too adorable to be a brooder” You laughed softly, pulling your knees up slightly.  “A pouter maybe, but not a brooder”
“Thanks y/n” He responded dryly.  You rolled your eyes in response to his sarcasm.
“Come on kid, open up a little.  It’s me” Your words were soft, which did prompt Dustin to consider explaining to you his thoughts.  “Please? If we make it out of this alive I’ll take you to the arcade.  I’ve got a big jar full of quarters I’ve saved up-”
“Okay okay I’ll take the bribe” Dustin caved with a laugh that made your mood lighten.  “Look it’s gonna sound lame and cheesy but… everyone else is helping.  Jonathan and Nance and Mrs Byers and Hopper and Elle, but what am I doing?”
“You’re staying safe” Your answer came out instantly, but it didn’t seem to be the one the boy was looking for.
“No I’m not, I’m sitting on the sidelines, watching everyone else go be heroes and getting hurt.  I’m not doing a damn thing!”
“Hey” You hummed softly, and scooted over closer to put your head on his shoulder.  “You’re a hero Dustin.  Don’t tell yourself any differently.  All of you are, Mike too, and Lucas, and Max, and-”
“Steve?” Dustin offered, and you nodded, looking at him confusedly by the strange tone of voice he used.
“Of course, why’re you looking at me like that?”
“No reason” Dustin shrugged nonchalantly, brushing off the uncomfortable air between you both.
“Alright well, you should believe me” You continued.  “Even if you don’t think so, you’re all my heroes, got it Henderson?” The boy smiled and nodded, prompting you to push the cap of his hat down playfully before he could get up and leave the room.
“Mike’s probably still planning his attack” He told you, but you shrugged and waved a hand.
“Let him plot and brood” You said, and Dustin’s mouth fell open.
“How come Mike can brood but I can’t?” You rolled your eyes, still waving your hand for him to get out of here.
“Just go plot with him, I know you’re itching to” You said, and he grinned wide at you, glad you were letting him go plan their escape and attack.
“Thanks y/n!” He called, already racing out of the room.  “You’re the best!” You laughed, shaking your head as you stood back up and dusted off the pants of your overalls.  Steve came in a few moments later, watching you almost suspiciously.
“What?” You questioned, and he shrugged, shaking his head.
“Nothing.  Just wondering why you’re permitting them to conspire against us” He said.
“They’re not conspiring, they’re just discussing.  No harm in that”
“Um, every harm in that.  As in all of us, being harmed, because of that” He said, but you didn’t really seem to care what he thought about it.
“They’re fine, we’re all fine, don’t freak out so much mom” You said, walking out towards the kids and seeing them all circled up and discussing their big plan.
“I’m not a mom” Steve argued, and you chuckled, turning to see him, his dish rag on his shoulder, hands on hips.  It only made you laugh more.
“Mhm, alright.  Well then what would you call yourself?” You replied sarcastically, nodding towards his own stance, and making Steve second guess himself.
“This- you-! Alright whatever just stay away from the windows and go be safe somewhere” He muttered, walking into the living room where the kids were.  You rolled your eyes again, but couldn’t help the smile on your lips.
Perhaps, you thought, King Steve was the king of something else now.
You watched as he was waving his rag at the kids again, yelling at them for plotting behind his back, and reminding them that no one was going anywhere.  But even as Dustin pouted, Steve was rubbing his hand over the thirteen year old’s head.  Almost soothingly, like he felt bad for ending their little meeting.
“What a mom” You mumbled, and headed back into the kitchen for something to eat.
You used to resent Steve, back when he was the king of school and didn’t care about anything more than he cared about his popularity and his hair.  Back when he didn’t give a shit about pretty much anything.  And looking at him now and seeing him watch over these kids, you could physically feel your heart swelling.  If that isn’t character development, you weren’t sure what was.
You weren’t sure why it made you feel so bubbly either.
“Listen runts, we’re staying here, we’re staying safe, and we’re not dying!” Steve said, for what felt like the fifth time.  But Mike kept arguing back at him.
“Everyone else is out there!”
“Everyone else knows how to fight all that shit!” Steve retorted.  “We are staying, here” He repeated slowly, waving his rag between each word.  “You got that?”
“You’re just saying that cause y/n’s here.  If she wasn’t here, we’d all be getting in your car and going!” Lucas spoke up.  Your brows furrowed at that.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” You asked, ignoring your search for food and now strutting into the room where everyone else was.  “Am I dragging you down?” You asked, almost sarcastic, but wondering what he’d actually meant by his announcement.  Were you dragging them down?
“No, Steve would just protect your ass over our asses” Max shrugged, and the others nodded.
“What the hell? Everyone here is protecting their own asses, I’m not getting killed for a bunch of kids!” Steve said, making flustered and jerky movements.  You brushed off their newly sprung argument over where Steve’s bat is swinging and who it’s swinging for.
Apparently, The Party was certain that he’d die for you, rather die for them.  But you didn’t care much about what they thought.  They’d always thought that you and Steve were meant to be some power couple, but you supposed it was just cause you were the same age and the kids only ever saw you two together.  There was no real evidence (as far as they showed) towards the ‘chemistry’ you and Steve supposedly had.
You wandered to the window, curiously looking out it with your arms wrapped around yourself.
“Will you just shut up?” Mike’s yelling made you jump a little, and you turned to see your friends all still arguing with each other.  You smiled slightly, meeting Steve’s eyes as he gave you a bored look.  You just laughed a little bit back at him.  Steve’s expression softened into a small smile.  Your face flushed with heat, and you nervously turned away from him to look back out the window again.
A light blinded you almost instantly, making you squint your eyes and put a hand over them to try and clear your vision.
“What the hell?” You muttered, leaning closer to the glass to see what was going on.  Headlights, there was a car here.  Someone was here.  “Steve?” You called, not turning away from the window.  He came over right away, looking outside to see a familiar Camaro parked in the driveway.
“Shit” He grumbled, walking towards the front door.
“What- where are you going? Who is it?” You asked, following quickly after him, but Steve quickly turned to make you stay back.
“Just stay in here-”
“Sinclair!” A voice hollered from outside, and you jumped, eyes widening as you recognized it.  “I know you’re in there!”
“Billy?” You whispered to Steve, who nodded.  You stepped backwards, eyes never leaving Steve’s.  “What’s he doing here? Your voice was quiet.
Billy Hargrove, was the most vile, horrible person you’d ever met.  And his wicked ways of bending people to his will, shook you intensely to your core.  It was no secret to the others that Billy not only terrified you, but would seductively torture you every day.  Sure, you’d been picked on before, but this was different.  Every day he’d come to you, hoping to get something out of you, just to mess with you.
“Come on babe, a little kiss, just a little one, we can discuss the rest later”
“You don’t want to get a ride home with me and have some fun?”
“When’re you finally gonna give this up and just put out?”
You shuddered slightly, practically feeling his hot breath against your skin just thinking about the things he’s said to you.  Stopping you in the hallways, finding you at your locker, approaching you while you waited at Steve’s car for a ride home.
“I know you’re in there you little pig! Come out here or I’ll have to go in!” His voice was dangerous, threatening.  And you felt a legitimate fear for your life, and the kids’.
“It’s fine, you’re fine, I promise” Steve said quietly, out of earshot of the others.  “All of you stay here, stay away from the windows” He ordered, giving you one last look before you turned and went to The Party.  They needed you right now, all huddled around Lucas and Max to make sure if Billy were to look inside, he wouldn’t see them.
“Come on guys” You said softly, ushering them as far away from the window as you could.  Steve, on the other hand, opened the door and stepped outside.
Instead of hiding in a room, completely out of sight of the maniac, you all ducked under the windowsill to see what was happening.
“Am I dreaming or is that really you Harrington?” You felt your entire body quivering upon hearing Billy’s voice.  Dustin, who was crouched next to you, turned and gave you a worried look, but your eyes were dead set on the outside.
“Yeah it’s me, don’t cream your pants” Steve responded, walking out towards him as he pulled off his leather jacket.
“What’re you doing here amigo?” Billy asked, the cigarette hanging off his lips moving as he spoke.
“I could ask you the same thing” Steve responded, void of emotion.  “Amigo”
“Lookin’ for my step sister.  Little birdie told me she was here”
“Huh, that’s weird I don’t know her” Steve lied easily, and convincingly.  You prayed to God that Billy believed him.
“Small? Redhead?” Billy replied disbelievingly.  “Bit of a bitch?”
“Ashole” Max muttered to herself inside.
“Doesn’t ring a bell, sorry buddy” Steve replied, still not sounding like he cared even an inkling.  Billy nodded, taking out his cigarette.
“You know… I don’t how this, this whole situation Harrington is um.., it’s giving me the heebie jeebies” Billy said, looking at Steve a little more threateningly.
“Oh yeah? Why’s that?”
“My thirteen year old sister goes missing all day, and then I find her with you” Billy pointed accusatory hands towards Steve, giving him a disgusted look.  “In a strangers house” He continued.  “And you lie to me about it” Steve chuckled bitterly, shaking his head and looking away for a moment.
“Yeah, maybe you were dropped too much as a child or what” Steve said snarkily.  But Billy just grinned his twisted grin and licked his tongue over the front of his teeth.  “I don’t know what you don’t understand about what I just said”
You felt a chill go down your spine as Steve’s protectiveness took over his tone.  Dustin beside you mumbling a quiet, “Holy shit”
“She’s not here” Steve said carefully.  Billy nodded, looking pointedly towards the window where you and The Party were all huddled and looking out of.
“Then who’s that?” He asked, pointing his cigarette towards his sister.
“Down!” You hissed, and the five of you dropped to the floor so fast you all groaned from the impact of the floor.
“Shit!” Dustin cursed.  “Did he see us?”
“Oh shit” Steve grumbled.  “Okay listen-” Billy pushed him to the ground before he could explain anything.  The boy kicked him, before storming up into the house.
“Well well well” Billy smirked, seeing you and The Party standing there together, you in front of all of them.  “y/n l/n, what a lovely little surprise” You grimaced, but he didn’t seem to care.  “And Lucas Sinclair, not so much a surprise at all” You moved over more in front of Lucas, who’s hands grabbed onto your arm out of fear.  “I thought I told you to stay away from him Max”
“Billy, go away” Max retorted, but her voice wavered.
“You disobeyed me” Billy leaned over his step sister tauntingly.  “And you know what happens when you disobey me” He added in a hushed, volatile voice.
“Billy-”
“I break things” He uttered, before pushing you aside, crashing your body into the wall.  Before slamming Lucas up against the cupboards.
“Billy stop!” Max and the others began to yell, Dustin rushing over to help you up, but you were already standing up on your own.
“Get off of me!” Lucas cried.
“Since Maxine won’t listen to me, maybe you will” Billy muttered.  “You stay away from her.  Stay-! Away from her” He yelled awkwardly.  “Do you hear me?”
“I said get off me!” Lucas screamed again, followed by a knee between Billy’s legs.  You gasped, feeling a moment of pride as Billy stumbled back and released him.
“You are so dead Sinclair!” Billy hollered.  “You’re dead-”
“No” Steve grabbed Billy by the shoulder, spinning him around roughly.  “You are” And with that he swung his fist and planted it hard enough against Billy’s jaw to make him topple over.
“Steve!” You yelped out of surprise.  He looked at you for a moment, nodding in reassurance as he shook out his hand.  It’d been a while since he’d hit anybody.  Billy stood back up, laughing menacingly.  “You’re a fucking psycho!” You screeched before you could stop yourself.
“Looks like you got some fire in you after all huh!?” He yelled at Steve.  “I’ve been waiting to meet this King Steve everybody’s been telling me so much about” He stepped closer to Steve, glaring at him.
“Get out” Steve muttered, pushing Billy’s chest lightly to move him away from him.  Billy stepped back and stood there for a moment.  And after a few seconds passed you were certain that he was going to stay back.
Until he swung swiftly at Steve, but missed as Steve ducked just in time.  You gasped, clapping your hands over your mouth in terror.  Steve stood back up and swung his fist again, hitting Billy and making him stumble again.
“Yes! Get him Steve!” Dustin cheered, and the others began to as well.  You couldn’t find yourself to say anything, just wince every time a punch was made.  Steve hit him two more times, and Billy ran into the kitchen sink.  Leaning back and wincing in pain.
“Kill him! Kill him!” Mike was yelling.  But Billy grabbed a plate of the counter, smashing it over Steve’s head, and making him fall to the ground.
“Steve!” You screamed now, taking long strides to get over to him, only to be pushed away by Billy.  Who hit Steve as soon as he stood up again.  He grabbed Steve by the shoulders, staring him down.
“No one.  Tells me what to do” He muttered angrily, and threw his head forward hard into Steve’s knocking him down again.
“Fucking hell” You mumbled, tears beginning to prick your eyes in fear that Billy was actually going to kill Steve.  The mullet wearing psycho leapt onto Steve, pinning him down and swinging punch after punch against his face.
“Stop it!” Mike yelled at the top of his lungs, but it did nothing to end Billy’s attack.
“Steve!” Dustin hollered.
You stood frozen, every scene in front of you soundless, and moving slowly.  You could only feel your heart in your chest, sending you into an anxiety attack, you were sure.  But it barely mattered to you in that moment.  You turned away, and your eyes landed on something.
The syringe used on Will earlier.
Sleep… put him to sleep… your thoughts were broken as you reached for it, looking at it in your hands for a few seconds, before stepping forward and slamming the needle into Billy’s neck without a hesitation.  Mike and Dustin gasped, standing back.  Everyone’s eyes stuck on the syringe hanging out of BIlly’s neck now.  A disgust filling them up at the sight.
“Shit y/n” Dustin mumbled, his hand covering his mouth to stop vomit from flowing.
Billy stood up, wobbling slightly as he turned to look at you.  He pulled the needle out of his neck, vision beginning to fail.  “The hell is this?” He asked, trying to step towards you threateningly, but he was wobbling so much you didn’t even move.  No longer afraid of him.
“You’re fucking done Hargrove” You muttered, and before thinking twice to second guess yourself, punching him across the jaw, and sending him back on his ass.  Billy groaned, staying down where he’d fallen against the couch.
“Shit what did you do” He mumbled, growing dizzy from the mix of drug and pain.
A few moments later he completely passed out.
“Fuck” You hissed in pain, putting your bruising knuckles against your mouth.  You didn’t think punching someone would hurt so damn much.
“y/n holy shit”
“Are you okay?”
“That was badass!”
The Party was fussing and cheering for you, but you didn’t respond, kneeling down by Steve next and counting up all the cuts and bruises he was beginning to sport.  He was unconscious, that was for sure.  But he’d be in for a world of hurt when he woke up.
“Come on, help me get him back to Jon’s bed” You called to the kids.
It was difficult moving him, but after ten minutes you’d managed to get him into Jonathan’s room to lie on the bed there.  You were sat next to him, a cold wet rag in your hand, and the open first aid kit on the ground.  It took you awhile to clean off all the blood and apply bandages where you thought they were necessary.  There was a frozen bag of peas you’d put over one of his eyes to stop the swelling, but so far it still looked pretty bad.
The Party had sat with you for what felt like a long time before you told them to go back to the living room and wait for the others to return home.  Dustin put up a small fight about it, but eventually gave in and listened to your order.  And now it was just you kneeling on the ground by Steve, watching over him carefully.  Making sure he was breathing okay, and that nothing would begin to bleed again.
“Well King Steve, you got quite the ass kicking” You mumbled, just to yourself.  Your fingers placed a few stray hairs on his forehead back into place.  “But your crown is still there” You smiled to yourself, fingertips gently brushing his hair.
“y/n?” Your eyes looked back at him as he mumbled, almost incoherently.  “What happened?” The poor boy’s eyes weren’t even open.
“You put up a really good fight” You told him softly.  He winced, the pain probably beginning to settle in.
“Did I win?” He groaned, eyes clenching shut momentarily.  You bit down on your lip and shook your head, even though he couldn’t see you.
“You put up a really good fight” You repeated yourself, playing with his hair again.  Steve sighed, knowing the answer.
“Is he gone?” He asked, eyes finally beginning to flutter open.
“Yeah… yeah he won’t be back any time soon, I’m sure” You answered.  Steve looked up at you, smiling down gently at him.  He smiled back instantly, and moved his arm to push your hair back, but even at it’s slight movement you winced in pain.  “You’re in pretty bad shape” You told him quietly.  “But you’ll heal up alright”
“Are you okay?” He asked, and you nodded.
“Yeah, yeah I’m fine” You shrugged slightly.  “We’re all really worried about you.  Dustin thought you were dead” Steve chuckled painfully, shaking his head a little bit.
“Are they alright? Max and Lucas?”
“Yeah, we’re all good Steve” You hummed with a slight nod.  You leaned forward, a little closer to him to check on the eye swelled under the bag of peas.  You frowned, seeing the black and blue bruise that only seemed to be spreading.
“I’m alright, don’t fuss so much” Steve said, putting his hand over the bag and pushing it back against his face.  Your eyes met his for a moment.
“You’re pretty bruised up Harrington” You sighed, taking the wet rag in your hand and dabbing it gently on his bruised cheek.  “There’s not an inch of your face spared”
“It’ll be fine, I’ll heal up”
“Years from now, maybe” You replied sarcastically, and he smiled at you while you carefully pressed the cold cloth to his face.
“You’re beautiful, you know that?” He murmured, and you looked at him for the briefest of seconds before going back to work.  Now is not the time to talk about feelings, you thought to yourself.
“Yeah? Go play hero some more and you’ll never see anything again” You told him, and he shrugged slightly, not having a response to that.
“I just wanted to remind you.  In case you haven’t been told in a while” He said.  You bit on the inside of your cheek to keep from smiling too much.  You looked down at him, your eyes softening slightly.
You leaned over closer to him, pausing for a moment before pressing your lips lightly against his.  It was a chaste kiss, only lasting a few seconds as you didn’t want to hurt him anymore than he already was.  When you pulled back, you smiled nervously at him, and he only smiled back at you.
“You’re lucky you didn’t die Harrington” You said, and got right back to work on pressing the rag to his wounds.
“That I am” He replied cheekily.
You giggled softly, smiling down at him and wondering just when he’d changed so much.
You knew he’d give his life for these kids too, just like you would.
love me some babysitter steve

Curse-breaker (Chapter 2/4)
- ao3 -
“If you can’t find him, that means it’s not meant to be,” the Nie sect leader said, and perhaps looked a little relieved somewhere beneath the grim scowl that had replaced the easygoing smile he had once had. “Let it be, then. Only…”
“Yes, Sect Leader?”
“I want our borders shut,” he said, his gaze distant, his hands tucked behind his back in stiffest formality. “Let no cultivator pass through; no scion or servant of any other sect, large or small.”
“Sect Leader…?”
“I don’t care what it does to our reputation,” he said, voice flat. “I don’t care if it hurts our commerce, makes everyone laugh at us as cowards – I don’t care about anything like that. That he’s well enough to evade us does not mean he is out of danger. If anyone else should find out…”
He shook his head.
“I have failed him enough already. I will not do so again.” He turned his head to stare at his subordinates. “Shut it down. All of it!”
They saluted, and went to enact his will.
-
Lan Wangji hadn’t been especially impressed with the Nie sect at first.
They were loud and constantly moving yet also guarded and standoffish, as if they couldn’t decide if they wanted people to pay attention to them or to leave them alone. He initially had thought it was arrogance the same way as the Jin sect, wanting to be looked at without wanting to admit it, but after some observation he’d realized that it really wasn’t like that at all. It was a little more, he thought, that they were naturally outgoing and extroverted, innately social in nature, and had to keep reminding themselves that they actually didn’t like any other people.
Certainly that was the impression the Nie sect heir gave off.
Nie Huaisang was Lan Wangji’s age, but he was much less accomplished – he talked a lot, smiled a lot, was a lot, and yet Lan Wangji didn’t think he’d ever actually said a single thing that really mattered. Lan Wangji hadn’t thought much about Nie Huaisang at all other than gritting his teeth and acting as his escort on the Nie sect’s first visit to another sect in years and years, thinking that if Nie Huaisang was any example, the Nie sect’s fearsome reputation for being as straight and unsubtle as their sabers was all a bunch of nonsense. Maybe he would have gone on thinking that, too, except that on the fourth day of their visit he discovered that Nie Huaisang listened as well as talked.
“I’m sorry,” Nie Huaisang said at one point, smiling. “Could you repeat that?”
Lan Wangji hadn’t really been paying attention, and he certainly hadn’t been speaking – he looked at Nie Huaisang in askance, wondering if he’d accidentally said something he wasn’t aware of.
“Your father,” Nie Huaisang clarified, and Lan Wangji tensed. “How often is he in seclusion?”
Lan Wangji frowned, cautious – that was a secret, of course, one of the family secrets. Everything behind what happened with his parents was secret. “Quite often,” he temporized. “He’s trying to focus on his cultivation –”
“That wasn’t what I asked,” Nie Huaisang said, cheerfully cutting him off without making it seem like he was doing that. “My da-ge says that he heard from – from somewhere, anyway, that he wasn’t just in seclusion often but always. He says that your father hasn’t used his sword in years, leaving it to rust on the wall, betraying all his old principles of swordsmanship.”
Lan Wangji bristled, thinking that it was an insult, but Nie Huaisang was looking at him, face open and sincere and, for once, serious, and looking over his words Lan Wangji had to admit there was more truth to it than lies. And wasn’t his uncle always saying do not tell lies?
“It’s not his choice,” he said, trying to defend it even as he wondered who was the da-ge that Nie Huaisang was referring to, since he was supposed to be the only heir of Qinghe Nie. “He has to be there, because of –”
He stopped.
“Because of what?” Nie Huaisang asked. His eyes were too sharp, too knowing, and suddenly Lan Wangji was sure he already knew. “Because of the broken sword buried under his house?”
“…my mother’s,” Lan Wangji said, and knew that he had admitted too much.
Except maybe keeping secrets the way he was supposed to wasn’t actually what he was supposed to do, because Nie Huaisang nodded and said, “My da-ge wouldn’t like that.”
Then he went back to his father and said something about how his da-ge wouldn’t approve of what was going on and the next thing Lan Wangji knew, Sect Leader Nie was striding through the Cloud Recesses with a terrifying scowl, going straight up to the house where Lan Wangji’s father was in seclusion and tearing the door right off the hinges.
“She’s dead already,” he bellowed, voice echoing right down the bones. “You should save your care for the living, or else you’ll blink and next thing they’ll be gone. Gone right along with the dead you’ve already lost. Don’t you dare throw away your chance the way I did!”
After that, all of a sudden, Lan Wangji had a father again.
-
“There are rumors, you know,” Lan Xichen said.
He was having tea in the garden in the small teahouse just outside of the Nie sect lands in Qinghe, the place where the Nie sect usually received its visitors now that the Unclean Realm and most of its surrounding environs were shut off from the world by fiercely patrolling guards. He was with Nie Huaisang, who barely stopped talking, and Lan Wangji, who almost never started; ever since the day old Sect Leader Nie had forced Qingheng-jun out of seclusion and back into the world, they had been the most unlikely pair of best friends he could have ever imagined. Whenever they were together, they fit together like two improbable puzzle pieces that should never have been separated.
When he was with them, Lan Xichen always felt a little lost, a little alone – like there was someone else that should have been there, too, someone who fit with him just right the way they fit together.
Perhaps, he thought, reflecting on what he had heard, there really should have been.
“About what?” Nie Huaisang inquired politely.
“The Unclean Realm,” Lan Xichen said, even though that was obvious there’d be rumors about that – there’d been people trying to sneak into there ever since it had been locked down, even though the Nie sect had announced that they’d imposed orders permitting any trespassers to be killed on sight, no excuses allowed. It hadn’t made that much of a difference; everyone wanted to know what they were hiding. “The – inheritance thereof.”
“Oh?” Nie Huaisang fanned himself lightly. “How interesting. What do the rumors say?”
“That you have an older brother,” Lan Xichen said, and noted with interest that neither Nie Huaisang nor Lan Wangji seemed surprised. “That he’s the real heir of Qinghe Nie. And that he’s…”
“That he’s what?”
“Subject to a curse,” Lan Xichen said, feeling bashful for even saying such a thing. It sounded like a children’s story told in the nighttime, not like anything a cultivator ought to be speaking of.
Except Nie Huaisang smiled a little, his eyes curving into crescents in a grim sort of humor, and he said, “Well, they’re not wrong.”
-
“I trust that this is an illustration of the reason we have rules against spreading rumors,” Lan Qiren said mildly, and noted that Nie Huaisang looked thoroughly abashed for once.
It didn’t happen very often: Nie Huaisang was in many ways utterly shameless, as shameless as his father had always been. As shameless as his mother, who Lan Qiren had met only twice, had been when in search of a snack, and given that woman’s force of personality (and, for that matter, appetite), that was saying something.
“I wasn’t expecting them to start talking about breaking the curse,” Nie Huaisang said bitterly. “I didn’t mean a curse like – like a kid’s story, or something! I just meant, you know…”
The qi deviations, he did not say.
“It could be seen as a curse, if you look at it in the right light,” Lao Nie agreed. He didn’t seem especially perturbed by the fact that his son’s conversation with Lan Xichen had been overheard and then spread out everywhere, nor that the secret of his eldest son’s improbable survival was being gossiped about all over the cultivation world. “It’s quite a reasonable way to describe it, really.”
Lan Qiren shot his old friend a frown. “I trust you’ve heard the rest of it, too?” he asked tartly. “They’re saying that you’d let the entirety of the Qinghe Nie go to whoever succeeded in breaking the ‘curse’.”
“Who says I won’t?” Lao Nie asked, and Lan Qiren turned to him fully to stare: he couldn’t be serious.
Lao Nie caught his glance and shook his head, and in the light he didn’t look grim and angry, the way he always was these days; he looked tired, and sad, and broken. “Oh, I’m quite serious, my friend,” he said. “If someone could bring me back my son, I would give them my head off my shoulders in a heartbeat.”
He was speaking hypothetically, Lan Qiren knew, and yet – with a sinking sensation in his heart – he knew, too, that they weren’t sitting somewhere as secret as he would have liked for a conversation like this. He knew that others had probably heard what Lao Nie had said, and instead of understanding that he was expressing regret for what had happened to his son, they would think…
Well.
They’d think a lot of things.
“Think of your health, instead of your death,” Lan Qiren finally said, shaking his head. He’d been helping Lao Nie for years now, fighting a rearguard action against Lao Nie’s own inevitable qi deviation, trying to win enough time for Nie Huaisang to grow up old enough to take over properly, but it was getting harder each visit, the treatment less effective, the healing slower.
It would not be too long now.
“They’re the same thing,” Lao Nie said, shaking his head. “I should have lost my life years ago, instead of losing him his…it’s been so long, Qiren. Every day I wake up is a day I live for him, not for me – living the way he would want me to, doing what he’d approve of. It’s the least I could do. If someone could bring him back to me…someone, anyone, anyone at all…”
His gaze was distant, and sad. Terribly sad.
“What Qinghe Nie? What Unclean Realm? What inheritance?” he finally said.  “There’s nothing I wouldn’t give for that. Nothing at all.”
-
Wen Ruohan was the first.
For some reason, Lao Nie hadn’t been expecting that, though perhaps he should have – the reason he’d first started liking Wen Ruohan so much all those years ago was purely because of how shameless the man was, arrogant and careless of the world in the way only the truly dangerous could be. He’d liked that aspect of his back then, and when he wasn’t lying to himself, he knew he liked it still.
But this?
This was too far.
“How dare you?” he roared, and there was a red haze over his vision of the sort that he knew boded extremely ill for his long-term health. “My Unclean Realm is closed – do you think that you would be welcome? You, of all people?”
Wen Ruohan had forced his way right up to their gate, bringing with him a small retinue rather than the invasion force Lao Nie’s elders were always a little concerned about. As a result, he was now surrounded, surrounded and outnumbered, but he did not seem afraid.
Detestable man.
Lao Nie hated him now. He hated him as much as he’d once liked him.
He hated that he couldn’t hate him more.
“I’m here about the curse,” Wen Ruohan said, and Lao Nie stared at him, utterly speechless. “You did say ‘anyone at all’.”
“You want Qinghe Nie?” Lao Nie asked blankly, though of course he would – Wen Ruohan’s ambitions to take over the entire cultivation world were hardly secret. No, even if that was the first thing that came to his lips, Wen Ruohan’s blatant overreaching wasn’t actually what surprised him.
No, what surprised him was –
“You know it’s not a curse,” he said.
“I do,” Wen Ruohan said, and when he lifted his eyes to meet Lao Nie’s, Lao Nie was surprised to find them bloodshot. Not the familiar sort, the qi deviations of rage the way all Nie sect leaders went eventually, but rather a sort that was even more common than that.
Grief. Sorrow. Guilt.
Regret.
That last one was a word Lao Nie would previously have put money on Wen Ruohan not knowing.
“You said ‘anyone at all’,” Wen Ruohan said again, and it occurred to Lao Nie that that was the part that Wen Ruohan had quoted, the part he was stressing: not the inheritance, not There’s nothing I wouldn’t give, but just that. Anyone at all, Lao Nie had said, and he’d meant it, too. Anyone at all meant anyone.
Even Wen Ruohan.
“Since when do you care?” Lao Nie asked. “You were the one who did it.”
“I did it,” Wen Ruohan admitted. “I was angry at you. I’ve been angry at you for years. I thought I’d cleansed myself of all feeling before you dug the heart out of me, and yet you treated me lightly, giving me only as much of yourself as you wished. I thought that if I could only get rid of you, I could seal my heart up again and be none the worse for it.”
“You would’ve gone mad,” Lao Nie said, feeling irritable. “I told you time and time again, the path of clarity is a dead end. No man can live without feeling emotions. Sorrow may try to trick you into thinking it’s preferable, but in the end...”
Wen Ruohan smiled, humorless. “Sorrow can be very convincing. But that’s not what you asked – you wanted to know why I was here.”
Lao Nie crossed his arms over his chest. “Well, then?”
“You’re still here,” Wen Ruohan said. “My heart is not dead. And I – I nearly murdered a child.”
That brother of his, Lao Nie thought, and he understood.
But what good would his understanding do?
“I have to try to fix it,” Wen Ruohan said. No, not said – he was nearly begging. “Lao Nie, you said anyone. I did it, I acknowledge it. I was wrong. I regret. Let me have a chance to try to fix it.”
“There’s no fixing it,” Lao Nie said, and turned away. “You ran a fool’s errand, Hanhan. He’s not even here.”

“I’m not going to tell you guys again!” Taz yelled, coaching Ricky, Brian, and Hobbs, “We are a team! The best team and you all are gonna start acting like it!”
Being a member of Team Taz was killing me right now. The whole team was a ticking time bomb, except for Hook and I.
[You trying to get out of here? I can’t stand this rn] I texted to Hook who was sitting next to me.
He looked up at me with a small smile, texting back:
[I was going to ask you the same thing. Let’s get out of here]
I quickly looked to see Taz still lecturing the guys , none of them paying attention to us.
Exactly when they had their backs turned, we snuck out. Whenever we made it far down the hall, I let out a deep breath, huffing:
“I don’t know about you, but all their arguing is getting on my nerves.”
“Welcome to the club,” Hook sighed, “They are being so childish like just shut up and wrestle.”
“Yeah no kidding,” I murmured, walking slowly next to him, “Wanna go to the football field?”
“Yeah,” Hook smiled, “I’m down.”
Hook and I have been best friends for a long time, trained together and now, in AEW together.
We thought it would be awesome to be a part of the same team, but the only team there truly was, was Hook and myself.
When we made it to the football field, I went into the center and just laid in the grass.
“I just wish we could wrestle our own matches and get away from all the guys’s bullshit,” I groaned, looking up to see Hook standing next to me.
“Wanna wrestle?” Hook teased, “Then let’s wrestle.”
“A sparring match?” I smirked, sitting up.
“If that’s what you want to call it,” Hook murmured, looking away when he said, “More like a test for you. I’m obviously stronger.”
“Oh?” I chuckled, standing up, “You’re gonna get it now.
“Bring it on!” Hook encouraged, going into stance whenever I came at him with a lock up.
At first, it was a challenge to overpower him, but to gain the advantage, I stepped on his foot, then put him in a headlock, quickly doing a snap headlock take down, putting him in the grass.
“What was that about being stronger?” I teased, rubbing my knuckles against his hair, “Come on, Hook! Bring it on!”
At first, I thought he was crazy when he started laughing, but then he start tickling me!
“HEY!” I yelled out with laughter. I was trying to fight it off, but I couldn’t handle it for very long, I was way too ticklish.
“You cheater!” I screamed over his laughter, the tickling becoming too much.
I let go and ran away, but Hook jumped right up, chasing me.
“Come on! What about our match?!” He laughed, sprinting to catch up with me.
It didn’t take long till he caught up to me, both of us laughing when he wrapped his arms around my waist, reeling me in.
“Hook, stop please!” I laughed, trying to break his force, but he was too strong, tightening his grip.
“This is what you get for running away!” He laughed, somehow still tickling me.
I needed to get out of his grip and finally, I was able too. I was able to squeeze my arms down, slithering away, crawling backwards between his legs then jumping on his back, putting him in a sleeper hold.
“Time to go night night,” I chuckled, not really trying to put him to sleep.
We would play fight like this all the time, we met in high-school and our friendship never really changed. Hook was always the quiet type, but when we became friends, he opened up to me and we always had fun like we were little kids. It was only with me because of how strong our bond was, still play fighting now as young adults.
Like usual, Hook found a way to reverse. He used a lot of strength to swing me and I screamed because I almost fell off of him, but with one arm, he pulled me back up, swinging me around and holding me in both arms.
We were both out of breath, but smiling when our eyes met, staring into each other’s eyes deeply.
“Can we call it quits?” I huffed, still laughing a bit.
“When are you gonna grow up and stop being so ticklish?” He teased, tickling me one last time.
“What do you mean?” I scoffed, “You just can’t stop being ticklish!”
“Take a joke!” Hook groaned, but smiling, his voice a little deeper when he whispered, “I don’t mind. Your laugh is cute.”
“Is that why you tickle me so much?” I said nervously, feeling my cheeks heat up.
“Maybe,” He smiled, his tongue darting across his lower lip.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” I chuckled, about melting in his arms when I saw his head leaning towards mine a little.
I even let my eyes close, but we both jumped when we heard:
“WHAT ARE YOU TWO OUT HERE FOR??”
It was Taz. I forgot how loud he could yell and he about scared me half to death.
“We have to get out to the ring now! Come on!” Taz yelled louder and we just ran, following him.
When we finally made it to the stage, I wasn’t surprised. Ricky and Brian were fighting, AGAIN.
Ricky had the FTW title for some reason and at the same time, they were distracting Hobbs, which made him lose to Adam Page.
They didn’t even care about that. Brian was yelling in Ricky’s face, demanding he give him back the title. Then Hobbs came over and none of them would listen to Taz.
I had enough of this. I couldn’t stand it anymore. So, when Ricky’s hand swung back, the FTW title swinging along with it, I grabbed it.
They all stopped, staring at me and I stood in front of them all, pleading:
“Guys, this needs to stop! We’re a team and a good one when you guys aren’t bickering like children. Please, just stop! We are better than this. We really are!”
“Y/N is right,” Hobbs agreed, nodding his head.
It felt like a moment of peace between us, for the first time in what felt like forever.
Hobbs made me smile with that comment and now that everything was silent, I sighed, “Here, Brian. You’re the champ.”
Brian was smiling too, going to take his title whenever I began to hand it to him, but when I did, Ricky shoved me, knocking me to the ground.
I got slammed right into the titantron, hitting my head hard. I held my head quickly, looking up to see Ricky scared shitless because they were all ready to kill him.
“You son of a-“ Taz began to yell, but all I saw was Hook, knocking Ricky to the ground, throwing punches.
“Hook! Hook!” They all began yelling, Ricky yelling and clenching his injured neck.
“Hook! I said stop!” Taz yelled, but there was no stopping him.
I have never seen Hook so enraged like this before. Hobbs was the one able to contain Hook , turning him to Taz so he could say:
“Son, I don’t blame you for being angry. I know how you feel about her and I’m proud of you for whoopin his ass, but you need to stop.”
Finally, I snapped out of it, Brian kneeling in front of me asking, “Y/N, are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” I groaned, watching Hook.
His chest was heaving, his eyes animalistic and the moment Ricky picked up his head and looked at Hook, all hell broke lose again.
Hook must have had a crazy adrenaline rush in order to break free from Hobbs grip, going right back to Ricky and about punching his face in.
There was so much yelling and commotion, Hobbs and Brian now trying to hold Hook back, one of them had each of his arms. Hook was still fighting and that’s when I realized that I needed to do something.
Quickly, I jumped to my feet, running at Hook and hugging him.
“Hook,” I stressed, holding his face so he would look me in the eye, “I am just fine, okay? Please just stop. Ricky is not worth the energy.”
Finally, Hook settled down, but was still ready if Ricky even dared to stand up.
“Guys, let him go,” I asked politely, Brian and Hobbs listening.
As soon as they let go, Hook’s arms latched around me, one of his arms around my head, his hand rubbing right where I hit my head.
“You sure you’re alright, baby girl?” Taz asked, “You hit your head hard.”
“I’m fine,” I assured, “I promise.”
I laid my head on Hook’s chest, hearing how hard and fast it was pounding, that increasing when we both looked to see Ricky on his knees.
“We have to go,” I sighed, looking up at Hook, “We can go back to the football field, somewhere.”
Hook still had his eyes set on Ricky, but he quickly looked to me and nodded his head, but before we left, he gave Ricky a death stare, then he kissed my forehead.
“Let’s go,” Hook whispered to me, hearing all of the anger in his voice that deepened.
“Brian, take them to where ever they’re going,” Taz commanded, then pointing to Ricky, “And you?! Your ass is coming with me! Get the hell up!”
Brian came to our side, walking through the tunnel with us and once we were far away enough, Brian said:
“Good job out there, Hook. I enjoyed watching him get his ass kicked.”
His comment made me chuckle, it even made Hook smirk a little despite how angry he still was.
We began to go towards the football field and once it was in sight, I stopped walking, my eyes meeting with Brian’s.
“I don’t mean to be rude, but can Hook and I have some time alone?” I asked sweetly.
“You’re fine!” Brian smiled, “Take your time. I won’t be far if you need me.”
“Thanks, Brian,” I smiled back, “And thanks for walking us out here.”
Brian gave me a simple nod with a smile, then began to walk away. When I turned around, I saw Hook stepping on the football field, kicking at the grass.
I had to jog a little to catch up, but I caught up with him, his pace slowing down once he noticed I was behind him.
“Hook,” I sighed, taking a deep breath when he turned around, a blank expression was on his face, but I smiled, “Thank you.”
Hook looked at me as if he was surprised, curious as to why I was thanking him, at first is expression gave off the feeling that He was ready for a lecture.
“You’ve always had my back,” I smiled, “And I love you for it.”
When I said the word love, a bright smile he was trying to fight appeared but there was no fighting it.
He took a few steps towards me and I thought he was going to say something, but his arm hooked around my hip, pulling me in and his lips crashed right into mine.
It was like the big bang theory blasted in my mind when I felt his lips against mine. A kaleidoscope of colors turning behind my eyes when I felt all the sweetness, a lot of built up emotion, like he had been waiting forever to do this.
My whole body broke out in goosebumps, all of those emotions rolling right off his lips onto mine and every bit of it was so strong.
I made sure I kissed him back with the same amount of passion, so much of it built up inside because there was no trying to hide the truth. The truth that I’ve been dreaming about this for years, happy that we finally gave in and crossed the barrier of friendship and turned into something more.
When my hand stroked his cheek, they were so warm, finding his jaw line and keeping it there, holding it a little tighter when our lips parted and we both gasped quietly.
Our lips were just an inch away, Hook titling his head up just a bit so he could look into my eyes. Slowly, I pushed the little part of his hair that was blocking the view of his eyes, his eyes glowing, brightening when he whispered:
“I wouldn’t have done what I did if I didn’t love you, Y/N.”
I couldn’t stop smiling when he kissed me again, whispering against my lips, “I love you.”
After one more kiss, he hugged me, keeping my head to his chest. I had never been happier in any other place like I was in his arms. Even after that huge fight, our night ended up being beautiful.
“You’ve always had my back,” Hook sighed, looking down at me, “And I will always have yours. You are my girl after all.”
Just when I thought I couldn’t smile any brighter, I did. My cheeks hot again and being raised by my smile, saying to Hook, “Wouldn’t want to have it any other way.”

you were visiting your brother damiano while he was on tour
you were excited to see him and the rest of his band with a single exception, Thomas Raggi
you and him despised each other since day 1
nobody really knows why you don’t get along, you’ve just never been able to be near him without bickering
the one condition of you coming to visit on tour was that you had to try to get along with thomas
the last thing damiano needed was his sibling and one of his best friends fighting
this agreement lasted about a day before you apparently did something to tick off thomas
you were grabbing a bowl of cereal when he pushed passed you annoyed
according to him, it’s your fault that he was annoyed and that you needed to stay out of his way
you tried reasoning with your brother that you weren’t doing anything that could’ve caused a fight and he insisted that thomas was just in a bad mood and it would be best to stay out of his way
however, you of course weren’t standing for that and decided if thomas was going to be rude to you for no reason then you’d give him a taste of his own medicine
the following morning you decided to go out and grab coffee for the band, purposely not grabbing anything for thomas
everyone was grateful of your gesture with the exception of the guitarist
“So you’ll grab coffee for everyone else except me?”
“Well I can’t stand talking to you, much less be around you. How do you expect me to know your coffee order?”
This of course started yet another round of bickering between you two
Damiano was so tired of this, he couldn’t choose sides between the two of you and he wished you would just get along for once
hell, he’d tie you two together until you got along if that’s what it took
and then the idea dawned on him, he’d definitely have to get victoria and ethan in on it but it was worth a shot
the tour bus arrived at the hotel the next nightand you each were handed your room keys
“okay due to budgeting, some of you will have to double up in rooms if that’s alright”
all of you agreed and you figured you’d be staying in a room with damiano or victoria
you were sorely mistaken
as you slowly divided off into your rooms, damiano and ethan first, then victoria which left you and thomas walking to the final room in the hallway
“You’ve gotta be kidding me, you’re in room 318?”
he looked down at his key and his shoulders slumped
there had to be a mistake, he couldn’t room with you, you’d end up killing one another
“maybe there was a mistake, i’ll go ask the others”
he walked down the hallway to the other rooms and knocked to be left with no answer
he texted and called only to be sent to voicemail
those fuckers planned this
he groaned to himself and walked back up to you
“we were put into a room together on purpose, i guess they got annoyed with you constantly bitching at me”
“me? bitching at you? you’re constantly getting angry at me for no reason!”
thomas just shook his head annoyed and strutted past you, not in the mood to deal with your attitude
he put the key in the lock and threw the door open to be met with a devastating sight
there was a single queen bed sat in the middle of the room
you shuffled in behind him and sneered
“this is fucking ridiculous, i need to go talk to damiano”
“i’ve already tried, they’re purposely ignoring us. we’re just gonna have to learn to tolerate each other for the night i guess”
you grumbled to yourself, you didn’t wanna spend the night with this asshole, much less share a bed with him
you pushed yourself past him and threw your bag at the end of the bed
he followed behind you and sat his stuff next to your’s
he was far too tired to have a shouting match with you
you changed into your pajamas and sat in the bed to flick on the tv
he sat next to you and turned on his music
“i’m trying to watch tv, can you put your headphones on at least?”
“my headphones broke a few days ago, i don’t have any right now”
“well then can you at least put on some good music?”
“i don’t really know what you’d describe as ‘good music’”
“just put on Led Zeppelin or something, i don’t fucking know!” you snapped at him
shockingly this didn’t turn into a fight
he just stared at you in surprise
“you like Led Zeppelin?”
???
Who tf doesn’t like Led Zeppelin?
“Yeah? Just put on Moby Dick or something” you suddenly got quiet
“Uh okay…” he switched the song as Robert Plant’s voice rang out through his phone speaker
Thomas recalled a moment from years ago right before Damiano was going to introduce you to the band
“Thomas, i’m sure you and (y/n) will get along. You two have a lot of similar interests and I think your personalities would go well together”
This one song led to an entire playlist and you two actually seemed to get along for once. there were no backhanded comments made for the rest of the night and it almost seemed like you could actually work together
you both drifted off to sleep sometime in the early hours in the morning
somewhere in the night, you two had gravitated towards each other and you woke with his arm around your shoulder and your head resting on his chest
giggles coming from the end of your bed you peeled your eyes open to be met with your brother holding his phone with a smirked on his face and the camera pointed at you two
it’s about damn time you two pulled your heads out of your asses and realized you actually liked one another

Hyperactive (With slight homicide)
This is my first post on Tumblr (not my first post overall as I have Wattpad, but I'll post my username here when I've added my Klarion one-shots on there unless people want it lmao
You grabbed his interest when you were hanging out with your friends near the old cinema.
He seemed intrigued at first when even Teekl became slightly amused by your hyper personality.
Klarion may or may not have stalked you for a bit because of that
Eventually, Klarion did admit you seemed fun to Teekl, and wanted to get to you know you better in person.
Both of you finally met each other when you were walking around the harbour, taking photos of the sea and the horizon even if you knew you would delete them later.
Teekl thought this would be a great time for Klarion to introduce himself to you.
She half prayed that Klarion wouldn't freak you out, and the other half wanting you to not make Klarion too annoyed.
Somehow, it went really well.... A bit too well, as you two then talked as if you had known each other for years
Lets just say, you're both extremely hyper. I mean, it's Klarion.
You being a hyperactive person and him having chaos magic while also wanting mischief? It's a perfect yet dangerous match.
Teekl rethinks her choice about you two being together, as she now has to deal with two children and not one.
This also means that the Light have to deal with another 'kid' as well, since Klarion will definitely bring you to at least one meeting.
They're a bit cautious about you on first impression, not too sure if you're using Klarion to get information about the Light
But after a while, they see how much you deal with when you're with Klarion, and figure out that no one can put up a façade for that long
Yeah, even the Light know that you're one hyper son-of-a-b*tch
I wouldn't say you're obnoxiously loud, it's just being in a Light meeting no one is really talking except you, so it's dead quiet other than that. Nevertheless, you can be extremely deafening without realising it
Klarion's magical powers gives you a lot more freedom when being with him. Like, a lot more freedom, he's a lord of Chaos, you basically have no limits.
You can now do all the crazy sh*t you've ever wanted to do with Klarion by your side, and he's more than willing to join you in whatever ideas you have
A couple of times Teekl has to warn him that you're still a mortal, so he does lay off a bit from time to time to avoid getting you seriously injured
If you do get hurt, Klarion is gunna freak tf out, trying to play it off cool but failing
All adventures go out the window if you get hurt. And if you try to get up saying "I'm fine", he'll magically trap you in your bed to rest.
Don't test him, he will do it
A lot of things may break, and it's whether or not Klarion will fix it with his powers or not after... Probably not, it's not like either of you really care
If the Young Justice team do meet you, it's because you were in a forest with Klarion, messing around while climbing from branch to branch in the trees while Klarion floated next to you
The two of you were ambushed by the team, as Zatanna had sensed Klarion's power in that area while the team were nearby
They would have saved you, but you're surprisingly very good at climbing trees for any of them to grab hold of you, something that actually made them impressed
Klarion was very unhappy, so unhappy that you had to mention about going back home to hang out there to calm him down
Couple of times you'd wander off too far that Klarion isn't able to find you and would have to teleport you to him in order to know where you are, the only big thing that does get him slightly annoyed.
^ If you can make Klarion take responsibility (other than over Teekl) and act like a parent, my respect goes to you
You two don't have any rules apart from when you're injured, although there is one thing that bugs you both
2 hyper devils + "Calm down"= Death stare with Klarion hexing whoever said that
No one is allowed to tell you guys to calm down
Klarion x homicidal hyper reader ⚠️Mentions death⚠️
You met each other like the first one, except that you seemed more wanting to go into danger and edge your friends into doing bad things than actually have fun
This time, Klarion was intrigued before Teekl
He noticed your cold yet intense gaze on everyone that was near you
Something about you was odd. Klarion knew that but he didn't know what was making you seem so odd
It's not until you become best friends that he finally realises your love for murder
While you got along with Klarion before him knowing this, wow he's ecstatic that he finally knows what seemed off with you
He tempts you into murder as well, seeing that you showed to be very refrained from not doing anything about your homicidal thoughts
Catches on very quickly how manipulative you can be with your friends, friends that Klarion now wants to be your first kills
Unsurprisingly, it doesn't take that much convincing from Klarion to make you agree to killing your soon-to-be-dead mates
He helps of course, trapping them all and giving you all sorts of weapons to use on them
It's like a holiday for both of you
You even asked Klarion at one point to make their screams quieter since they were annoying you
And after you had finishing butchering your friends, Klarion realised that he like-liked you and confessed right there
Yep, Klarion did just admit to liking you while standing in the middle of dead bodies scattered around at your feet
Soon after that, you both start doing more destruction together
Limits? F*ck no
Hell, if you asked for half of the moon to be destroyed, Klarion would snap his fingers and bam, moon gone.
One time you asked Klarion to give you powers like superman, just so you could fly and mess around in the city
It started off as just throwing cars as far as you could, not exactly caring if people were inside or not
Which then turned into full blown 'lemme jump/crash into one sky scrapper to another', looking like a monkey swinging from vines in a jungle
While the heroes didn't enjoy your hyper and destructive personality nor Klarion, the news loved you. The amount of reports you and Klarion got in the news just boosted both of your ego's
"Double trouble strikes again!" "Witch boy causes havoc with anonymous villain" "League fail to stop villains, have they met their match?" "Criminals cause devastating downfall on the city" "61 lives lost in under an hour" You felt prideful in the last one, a new record in your books
If you two ever go out to have dates, it'll 100% always end with something, mostly a building, being completely destroyed
Whenever the 'kiddie' team as Klarion calls them, or the Justice League come; they're always too late to stop you two
Even if Batman claims they were so close to stopping you, he's wrong. The heroes don't even manage to get you two to notice them arriving, already going off to have some fun somewhere else
You've mentioned about wanting to kill at least one of the heroes out of spite and because you felt like it on multiple occasions
Klarion would love to snap his fingers to have every hero there for you to choose from, yet he couldn't do that because of Vandal wanting some of them alive. Especially Lex with Superboy.
You get along nicely with the Light, as they trust you enough to know that you can calm Klarion down and that you're classed as a criminal
Occasionally, you have unnerved them with the gory deaths about some of your kills, Klarion kissing your cheek out of pure happiness from hearing the defined details
Teekl doesn't really care about it as long as you get the blood off her fur if you get any on her later.
A lot of lives are lost when you two are together... Which is all the time
(Secretly, the young justice team have envied how much freedom you get when with Klarion-> This is after they have to tidy up the mess you two make)
Sorry if this isn't very good, literally made this and posted it the same day. I've loved Klarion's character for quite a long time now and saw that, although the fanfics are good, there isn't a lot of them. I'm down for requests, but right now I don't think I can do many. You can send me stuff and I'll write it down, just don't be upset if I don't post it in the next week or two. If this isn't up to your standards then srry aha, I realise I don't add much fluff and focus more on the storyline, but there's always room for improvement tho✌️
