I found myself in Absolute Awe as I watched Oppenheimer.
I was blown away (No Pun Intended) by the scale of this movie as everything unfolded in front of me upon the big screen.
IMO; this movie will definitely go down as a true masterpiece in storytelling and filmmaking.

I don't care what anyone else thinks: Ridley Scott + Joaquin Phoenix + Napoleon? If this movie is nine hours long, it'll be too short.

So, seeing as I’m having a Titanic phase right now, and today is the day the ship struck the iceberg, I wanted to recommend this film called A Night To Remember. It was made in 1958!! But don’t let that deter you, because the effects were amazing! And it portrayed the event pretty accurate, too, to my knowledge. It exceeded wayyy beyond my expectations. Highly recommend!
I watched the original b&w on Tubi, but someone uploaded a colored version to Youtube for free!!

I sent the first ask as anon because I was shy 😝 but I'd like to ask 9 too (if you feel like it ofc :) ).
Yes of course! Thank you so much @sweet61 you are in fact so sweet!
9. Favourite historical film?
This is a tough one since there’re so many that I love haha. I think I’ll have to pick two if that’s okay!
First up, Hacksaw Ridge. It was very well made and I loved that it differed from most WWII movies in two aspects. One, it is set in the Pacific theatre where most are in the European. Second, the fact that it was about Desmond Doss. It’s not too often you see medics being the protagonist in a war movie. Usually they’re about some great strategist or a sniper who had the most kills. But Hacksaw Ridge was instead about a guy who saved dozens of lives, even attempting to save the lives of enemies. As a conscientious objector Doss shouldn’t even have survived on the battlefield, especially a place like Okinawa. But he did and because of him so many others did too. He’s exactly the kind of person who deserves a movie made about them.
My second choice is also a recent movie, Outlaw King. I really enjoyed it. The story of Robert the Bruce is quite interesting and they put wayyy more effort into the costumes than BraveHeart did (by which I mean they weren’t wearing kilts because they hadn’t been invented yet). Though I also might be a bit biased on this one since my Clan sided with Robert the Bruce haha.
Thanks again for the ask! I love talking about history.

~✧°+* 2/100 days of doing better*+°✧~

28.07.2023
This day was a bit all over the place.
I didn't get as much done as I wanted to, but I'd say it was a succesful day none the less. I got to spend some quality time with a friend and that's worth a lot to me.
For all that it's worth, I'm actually really excited for studying tomorrow. I'm making progress on the witch hunt revision and it's starting to be fun. Hopefully I'll finish my summary of the slides tomorrow.
Positive things I did today:
cooked a balanced meal
continued history of witch hunts revision
kept the duolingo Spanish streak going (very last minute tho)
handed some books in at the library
spent time with a friend
watched a movie (Schatten in meinen Augen / The Bombardment on Netflix; very sad)
Hours slept: ~7hrs 10mins Screentime: 5hrs 30mins Steps taken: ~7.600

What did you think of the film Vice about Dick Cheney?
I enjoyed Vice. I thought Christian Bale was incredible as Cheney and undoubtedly should have won the Oscar that year, especially considering the other nominees.
