how to elevate the level of simple everyday things
You can make your life much lighter and more beautiful with a few simple adjustments to your home.
A beautiful table set for the main meal… instead of eating while watching TV, standing at the counter or anyway you can
Bath towels that hug you... instead of those towels that feel like sandpaper, which have been cut for years and have loose threads...
Soft, clean and fragrant bed linen... instead of that rough, holey sheet that you haven't changed in two months (little tip spray a mixture of fabric softer and water to give them an extra nice perfume)
Did you see how you don't need large investments to have an even more beautiful and orderly home? Just good criteria, care and care
Did you know that happiness is often hidden in little things?
Sometimes, all we need is a different look at our daily lives, you know?
With these small adjustments, you can create an environment that is not only easy on the eyes… but also welcoming and inspiring.

My partner asked that I darn the crotch of their work jeans. It was my first time using darning yarn and I really struggled on this spot but it should hold up fine.

I’m in the mood to just paint, learn how to knit, turn my home into a cottage, bake bread, and take care of myself and my family through healthy meals and a whole lotta love

i love slow and sunny spring days at home 💕 you can always do more than you think in one day… wash dishes, go outside for a walk and take photos, edit photos, do laundry and hang it outside, bake apple pie and prepare dinner to surprise my love for his iftar when he comes home, wash dishes again… and still have some time left over 🌸

Today I did a huge kitchen project so here’s what I’ve gotten done so far:
- roast a chicken
- prep all fruit and veggies for the week
- veggie stock with the odds and ends
- bake muffins for breakfasts this week
- replenish my freezer cookie dough
Im off to a party but tomorrow I need to finish the following
- simple syrup with the strawberry tops
- chicken stock with the bones
Main thing I learned is I need a new apron 😭 maybe I will sew this one instead of buy!

The Resurgence of Homesteading and Slow Living
In a world that constantly tells us we're not doing enough, homesteading and slow living are a revival of values deeply rooted in the past, offering a respite from the frenetic pace of modern life.
Our lives move faster each day we live them, it seems. Every birthday and new year seem more recent than the last. I die a little inside every time I hear that one of my favorite songs just turned 10 years old… or 20, or 30. Growing older is a privilege, and it’s one that I do not take for granted. However, every day, messages bombard us, telling us that we aren’t doing enough. Not only should…

American pancakes
Serves 2 people, 10 min to make. Maybe I’ll share Carlos Sainz’s souffle pancakes sometime.
Ingredients
1/2 cup of milk
1 cup of flour
1 tablespoon of vegetal oil
1 egg
1 tablespoon of refined sugar
1 pinch of salt
1 table spoon of baking powder
Butter to grease the pan
How to:
In a bow mid all the ingredients, except for the baking powder, with the help of a fouet (wire whisk), a mixer or a blender
Add the baking powder when the dough is homogenous and mix well. The dough will have an aerated aspect after a few seconds
Preheat a non stick pan in medium heat. When it’s hot, grease it with the butter with a cooking brush or a paper towel
Pour a bit of the dough in the hot and greased frying pan until it forms a circle. You can do whatever size you like but I’d suggest the size of the palm of your hand
When little air bubbles start to appear in the pancakes surface, flip the pancake. The pancake is ready when it’s golden on the other side
Repeat the process with the whole dough lowering the fire if you notice it’s too hot
Serve them hot with maple syrup, jam, honey fruits or whatever your creativity points to

Getting my partners pants ready for sashiko embroidery! She constantly tears them up at work so I added reinforcement patches then I put a water soluble grid on top of that to guide the stitch. I'm doing the star stitch

If I were to give one piece of advice for making your living space feel more finished, it would be to get things framed in the nicest frames you can afford.
You can get really nice frames at thrift stores for just a couple bucks. If you really wanna splurge, take the frame and the thing you're gonna put in it to a craft shop and have it matted to fit.
I have posters, art from calendars, old birthday cards, and small prints I bought online hanging all over my house. Putting them in frames took them from "shit tacked all over the walls that got increasingly ratty with every move," to "awesome art collection."
You don't have to do it all at once. Just one thing at a time as you have the money. Trust me, it'll make your house look 10 times more like an adult house.
