Okay this idea just hit me out of nowhere, but what about Buck doing a full circle moment and proposing by taking them to that same coffee shop years later and asking Tommy if he’ll be his date at a wedding again. At first Tommy is a little confused because he can’t think of anyone they know who could be getting married, but still he just smiles and says “Of course. Whose wedding?” And Buck pulls out a ring like “well… I was hoping maybe ours.”

tommy's stunned. he's never known someone who can leave him speechless, knock the breath right out of him and pull the rug right from under his feet in such the right way like evan buckley can. has to take a moment. buck waits paitently, wants to reach out with his hand not holding the ring, hold tommy's where they're resting on the table. doesn't, not yet. let's tommy have all the time that he needs, even with the way his own heart is jack hammering more and more inside of his chest with each passing moment.

tommy opens his mouth, closes it. does it again. lets his eyes roam over buck's features, searching. and then his face falls into his, by now, well practiced 'evan' face, followed by the softest, most amazed "evan," slipping out of his lips.

buck takes that as his cue. leans forward slightly, catches tommy's shining eyes with his own and holds him, there, says, "i-i mean it, tommy. you're the best thing that's ever happened to me. i don't know what i'd do without you. you're- you're my something and i- i love you. so much. marry me?"

tommy's never been so sure of an answer in his life, "i- yes. yes, evan."

buck reaches out, then. covers tommy's hand with his own, squeezes. can't stop the grin from stretching out across his lips as he confirms, breathless, "yeah?"

tommy turns his hand over under buck's, palm up. cages buck's fingers with his own, says, again, like a promise,"yes, of course."

Hey, I started reading Robin son of Batman because of your recommendation (I literally have a print of your post on my phone to not forget lol). Honestly? One of the best things I ever read!!!

Thank you for opening my eyes! Damian has been one of my favorite characters for over a year, but I didn't read/watch much of him because of school, life (and probably an executive dysfunction in the mix).

gojo satoru who finds his scars to be a sign of his failure as the strongest, a reminder of all of the people whom he failed to protect. he treats each scar not as a trophy of his survival but rather as a sign of weakness. a foolish thought, truly, but even the strongest has his faults at times.

( and there is a reason, after all as you so often joke, why he is called the strongest and not the wisest )

it's rare that you have the time to simply exist together and so, you both try and take as much advantage of it as possible. on the times when you can linger, you always do. even as he begs for you to go faster, tells you over and over again that he can take whatever you give him, that he won't break, but you still go slow. you ensure that he stays still — not that it takes much convincing; all you have to do is ask and he's eager to be your good boy. wanna be your good boy. am i your good boy, yet? — and that he feels every inch of you all over him.

Jeff was the one who introduced Eddie to Ronan Right. His mom was moving and when Eddie visited to help, he found his friend with his nose buried in a small book that was nearly falling apart in his hands.

“What's that?” Eddie asked, flopping down next to Jeff among the boxes.

“My mom's favorite poet,” Jeff mumbled, barely glancing up from the page.

And as soon as Eddie got a chance to pick up the book from where Jeff had left it, he was hooked. He was no help at all for Jeff's poor mom, completely engrossed in poem after poem, reading them again and again and again.

Eddie liked reading poetry to get some inspiration for his songwriting, but a lot of poetry had this atmosphere of pretentiousness around it. This didn't. It was surprisingly simple. To the point, with a rawness to it, mostly short poems that had a simplicity with which they managed to cut right to the heart of things.

Ever since that day, Ronan Right became Eddie's biggest source of inspiration. He'd never start working on new songs before reading one of Right's poems first. And whenever he got stuck on his lyrics, he'd pick up one of Right's books – and every time, without fail, he'd find something in there to help him find the right words.

When people would ask Steve what inspired him, his answer was always the same, always simple: music. Most people probably assumed that by that, a poet would mean classical music or maybe jazz of some kind. They were wrong: Steve Harrington, professionally known as Ronan Right, liked to blast the most screamy metal imaginable whenever he was writing – much to the discontent of his poor neighbors. He didn't care much for lyrics, it was all about the sound for him: about volume, about harmonies, about a combination of ingredients that somehow managed to flip a switch inside of his brain that unlocked the more creative ways to look at words.

His favorite band was called Corroded Coffin. Something about them stood out in the long list of metal bands he loved to listen to. It was something about the sound of the singer's voice, about the guitar riffs, that simply made sense to him, made the words that he was looking for bubble up to the surface naturally.

He got halfway through the first song on Corroded Coffin's newly released album, when he froze at his desk. He didn't care much for lyrics, but those words... There was something familiar about them.

He replayed the song from the beginning and started frantically flipping through the pages of one of his earliest poetry bundles... Yeah, there definitely was something familiar about those lyrics.

They weren't copied, exactly. It could just be a coincidence.

But the album kept playing on and Steve kept getting distracted by the lyrics because there was so much familiarity in them. It wasn't like the singer was stealing from him, it wasn't even like he was taunting his copyright or anything like that... It was like he was building on Steve's words. Like Steve had laid a foundation that had sparked Corroded Coffin to make something beautiful. Like the two of them shared a mind, a soul, an inspiration.

And Steve wrote the best poem he had ever written, in one go, that day.

More bundles followed. More albums were released. And they kept interlocking with each other, one causing the other to do something new, try something different, figure something out.

Ronan Right was still an obscure poet, well-respected but not mainstream enough for bigger successes. Corroded Coffin was still an obscure metal band, praised by the connoisseur but too experimental to ever get anywhere bigger than the verge of the metal scene. The only one who noticed the textual similarities between the two, was Jeff's mother. She'd smile her knowing smile and chuckle quietly, delighting in her own private understanding.

A new book was about to get published. Steve had to drive down to Chicago to meet with his publicist and talk some things through, but his car was in the shop so he got on a train instead. The meeting went well, Don't try to be a hero officially got the green light, and feeling content, Steve pulled out the latest Corroded Coffin cd to put in his walkman as soon as he got on the train back home.

“Hey,” the guy opposite him said with a smile and a nod towards Steve's walkman, just before Steve could put on his headphones. “Corroded Coffin, nice.”

“You know them?” Steve asked, taken by surprise, a matching smile creeping onto his own face.

“Yeah.” The guy chuckled. “Yeah, I know them.”

Sunlight fell through the window and shone on the big rings around the guy's fingers, catching Steve's eye – and pulling his gaze towards the tiny book he was holding in his hands.

“Hey,” he said, “Ronan Right, nice.”

The guy stared at him for a few seconds, something like disbelief in his big brown eyes. “You know him?!”

Steve felt laughter bubble up in his chest. “Yeah, I know him.”

“You’re such a pretty man,” Makino sighed, touching her fingertips to his cheek, before rubbing his beard with her thumb. “Your wife is very lucky. Oh—hey.” Her whole expression brightened, her smile entirely cheeky. “That’s me.”

Shanks grinned, delighted. “You are absolutely hammered, aren’t you?”

“Hmm, I think I’m about to be.” She frowned. “Wait—was that not a euphemism?”

Who do you imagine confessing first? Kou or Mitsuba? How would you envision or want a mitsukou confession to go down?

Mitsuba!

I personally see Kou as someone that hides when his feelings are something he is ashamed off. He needs to be pushed to the edge, to express any big conflict he has, otherwise he can spend years bottling it up.

And even when Kou is so consumed by a feeling that he needs to vent, he is quick to focus on others.

He is a character that doesn’t like to indulge in his own wants, not feeling like he deserve it, or ashamed of wanting more for himself. Hence why he was so panicked in the red house and why I believe love in a manga where being in love is mostly depicted in selfish or obsessive ways would conflict him to death

And Mitsuba absolutely conflicts him. When the topic is directly brought up he tends to go ‘...’ and sweat

He does not want to think about Mitsuba at all despite constantly thinking about him.

The only person he has talked about Mitsuba with (outside mitsuba himself) is Nene, and the intention seems to had been to just catch her up with Mitsuba's situation. The glimpses of personal troubles he shares seem to have been on accident.

It's enough to make him sweat and change subjects with a smile, as if thinking “I shouldn’t have said that, let’s forget about it!”

Kou either has no idea what he feels or he does have some idea but doesn’t want to. I think he is mostly confused though. Which makes sense cause his feelings about Mitsuuba are hella complicated.

Kou seems to think whatever he feels is a sort of strange and convoluted annoyance, which is a similar conclusion to what Mitsuba had reached at first.

But while Kou is still mostly stuck in “god why do I need him? Why do i think so much about him?? He is annoying.” stage, refusing to explore or indulge in the positive feelings Mitsuba brings, Mitsuba already know a lot about his own feelings and he does not hesitate to share them.

He understands the problems of a ghost being attached to a human and vice versa, so he has reasons to not confess, but even if there is conflict, he doesn’t run away from his feelings.

Mitsuba was the one that informed Nene about their little aquarium trip. She had no idea before, so Kou (who is far closer to her) didn’t share anything.

Even if Kou does realizes he is in love, I personally can't imagine he would try to start a relationship, cause he wants the very best for the people he loves and he does not consider himself a good option.

Remember his crush on Nene? How he never made a move and tried to do what would make her happy? He pushed her to stay with Hanako the second he felt like he was not just some ‘evil spirit’, he never considers himself a better option than the dead murderer at any point, and he is very quick to sabotage himself for others.

So he would likely just hate himself for thinking he is not the best but still wants to be the one to help Mitsuba, be the one he depends on, and stay by his side. Unwilling to be ignored.

And I can’t imagine being so conflicted and hating yourself as a very good push to confess to someone.

But I can imagine Mitsuba accidentally confessing, since it was shown constantly that this boy is gay as hell for kou and that he can’t lie. He feels something strongly? There is a big chance he will blurt it out: No bravado, no filter.

And if this confession does happen, I have no idea how I want it to go down.

I just know I want Kou to sabotage himself somehow, cause that’s what this boy constantly does with Mitsuba, and I just can’t imagine a confession being smooth and sappy with them regardless of who ends up confessing in canon, it would just feel out of character to me, unless of course, it has the proper set up/character development for it.

I wanted to make a fanfic including Sunstreaker, but there's barely any canon content (specifically animated, which I watch the most) on him... any advice on writing him? You're the Sunny expert, after all... 💛

Hello Aerialbot Anon, nice to have you back hehe. I don't know about being the Sunny expert, all this just started with the brain-rot from @shyspider fanfics and fell into Lambo hell… But! I'm happy you sent in an ask and will do my best to help!

I've been thinking hard about how to answer your ask. Since I'm an artist, I spent a lot of time designing how he looked and worked his personality into his finished design. Writers don't have the luxury of just adding visual cues though, so I scratched around in my head and made up a quick list of the main points I kept in mind that might help you figure out what kind of Sunstreaker you want.

When he manages to show up in canon, he's usually a narcissist and very difficult to get along with, so I made him very confident in his looks and very good at his job while being dismissive of people who don't outright impress him.

I wanted him to have more than one dimension, so I decided that he bases most of his worth around his appearance and competence. He's a little jaded and belittles those around him because he doesn't want attachments that can hurt him later. He's used to, and dislikes, superficial relationships. Sunny is always getting surface-level compliments and so he's numb to them and actively avoids them. That scene in Guardians of the Galaxy where Drax said "beautiful people never know who to trust"? That's Sunny.

Looking at this list, my Sunstreaker is essentially a beautiful but aggressive shelter cat.

Of course, all of this is just for my interpretation of Sunstreaker. Yours might be a bright-eyed sparkling or a pretty-boy assassin, or a battle-hardened old coot with loads of scars. Who knows? With so little canon content for the mech, he's almost a blank slate, which can be a little daunting to work with.

If you can find a fanfiction with Sunny that you like, or even a similar character to get ideas from, that'll help too... I hope I went into enough detail and that this can help you out?

@mochiwrites has a consistently amazing style of writing that keeps me hooked whenever I open one of her fanfics. She has incredible characterization and plot lines in their stories! Their fics mainly focus on Grian, Scar, and Mumbo from what I've read. Warning, there is shipping, just in case that's not your cup of tea.

@liloinkoink is an incredible writer with many aus and intricate worldbuilding! They mostly write renchanting, and have a very good series centered in their lamplight au that I very much recommend. His fics tend to center on Martyn from what I've seen!

@wormtime123 has an AMAZING fic called dramaturgy. I've spoken about it before, but of course I'll talk about it again. It's a very lovely Pearl-centric fic set in hermitcraft season 7... absolutely amazing!! Go check it out.

@slashmagpie has a series called the "lifeline au" which is absolutely incredible. I can't speak enough praises for it. But it's almost 300k words and the dedication and work that went into it are just absolutely insane. It's just. Wow. Incredible. PLEASE go read it!!

@silverskye13 is a writer I don't know on a personal level, but their fics have been a subject of discussion and 2 am ramblings between my friends and I. They have so many fics and they're all so well written!

@sixteenth-days is incredible as well! A very well known writer for the hermit archives, and they have some of the best characterization I have ever seen! I recommend all of their fics, because they're all incredible.

Good day, anon! You're very polite~ I'm not sure about everyone, but at least the western Death Note fandom has some very specific misconceptions about what exactly Light means when he's talking about "becoming a god".

See, while 神 ("kami") is often translated as "god", it doesn't carry the same connotations that a western audience would associate with the word. Kami are not omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, or even necessarily benevolent; they are simply essences of nature, and they carry with them all the aspects that implies. For this reason, I often consider kami to mean something closer to "spirit", but if you're translating kami as "god", then they are gods of something. Of a family lineage, a part of the world, a force of nature, or a celestial object. Essentially, anything that is to be honored, worshipped, venerated, or aspired to can be a kami.

This localization problem is likely the reason why, in the English "translation" of the Death Note Musical, the song There Are Lines does not even attempt to translate "神になれ" ("kami ni nare", become a god!) from the song 一線を超えるな ("issen wo koeru na", do not cross the line). Because, to an English-speaking audience, hearing Soichiro commanding his son to become a god sounds very strange.

But Soichiro isn't telling Light "become omnipotent". He's telling him "embody the essence of your own values". And Light is replying back, "I will embody my values." The irony of this duet is in Soichiro's assumption that Light's values are fundamentally the same as his own, when they are in fact on opposing sides.

Generally speaking, throughout every piece of Death Note media, when Light talks about becoming "the god of the new world" (新世界の神), what he's talking about is becoming the force of nature that creates a better society. And you will note that, in this, he is not boasting: in fact, he actually accomplishes this on-screen. Kira is a force of nature, who does indeed change society; not entirely for the better, and certainly not in a kind way, but that's not required. In the way that Jews or Christians or Muslims conceptualize the idea, Kira is certainly not God. But by Shinto standards, Kira could certainly be considered a kami.

i am a firm believer in the fact that to reach a point of absolute destruction with dottore in bed would be to never give him enough time to work things out. this man is a wicked genius and the second he can anticipate what you're doing, it takes away the fun for him. like, he enjoys it still (because it's you and despite his appearance at first glance, he's obsessed with whatever you give him because he's obsessed with you) but it doesn't hit him half as hard as it does as if you make it a surprise.

if you want to break dottore, you need to make sure he can't think. tie him up, make him vulnerable and defenceless to stop you (safe words + other precautions not withstanding); blindfold his eyes so that he can't see what you're doing; force him to sense you without actually having you close to him. after that, make sure to throw everything at him with rapid speed. edge him until his legs are shaking, then overstimulate him until his lips are trembling from how badly he's begging you to slow down. kiss him softly in apology than promptly slap his inner thighs, his stomach, his weeping cock. fuck into him harsh and fast and then suddenly switch into long, deep strokes that his his prostate dead on.

i know it’s Iconic in jk fandom to keep kaiba rich but we need AUs of them starting a business together and jounouchi getting cold feet as it expands beyond his wildest dreams and kaiba aggressively wanting to see his products on every corner

Ooooh yes, that could make for some really interesting stories in the childhood friends AU area, or other AUs of normie Kaiba attending school with Jounouchi.

So as a quick riff on one of the many possibilities, imagine Kaiba and Jou as next-door neighbors, maybe they're childhood friends who were both raised by single parents who struggled financially or maybe they know each other more recently and casually. They recently graduated from high school and are trying to make end's meet for themselves and their families. Kaiba may or may not be going to college at the same time. Jou is working part-time gigs and has been trying his luck with "get rich" schemes (he's not above shortcuts as we see in the manga, especially if debt is still a major part of the financial picture).

One day, one of them jokes about a business idea they have. The other takes it seriously. No, we should do it. We can make it work. But it's something that needs both of their talent and grit to succeed. It's hard, especially at first while Jounouchi is still working and Kaiba still goes to classes. Sometimes, it even feels impossible. But they keep going. They have each other. And they're getting even closer as they pour all their spare time and money and sweat and tears into their joint venture.

It's theirs.

I can see them nursing deepening crushes and feelings for each other. But they're both hesitant to say something, not wanting to risk losing each other as friends or business partners.

Eventually, their hard work starts to pay off. They're succeeding. They want to celebrate that with each other. Grab the other and give him a kiss. Because he appreciates him and cares about him. Because he's sent so long wanting him too. All the doubts fly out the window, for now, riding the high of their success. They did this together.

Then like you said, their business gets legs. Jou maybe starts to bulk under the pressure, get cold feet because he's not used to anything going well for too long. He's waiting for the other shoe to drop. Kaiba's throwing everything he has into it, but that means he's starting to neglect other things in life. Other people. One wonders if their partnership, business-wise and romantically, will hold up under that strain.

okay okay small story this place near-ish to where i live sells gardening equipment and in the springtime they get live chicks so people can raise them into chickens and ahhhh they're so cute!!!!!

all the ducks can fit in his hands, no questions asked. he kneels and holds out his claws and the ducks all pile on, much to your amusement and slight dismay- where was their mother? there's no way you and Legacy can take care of all the ducklings, neither of you are nearly qualified enough! yet the tiny fledglings seem quite content in his grasp, and Legacy purrs at them contently as they quack, looking from you to the ducklings and back again pleadingly. with a sigh you relent and nod, met with a chorus of happy chirps and quacks from Legacy and your new little friends- of course, you make Legacy promise to help you find the ducks' mother, and to look after them while you're gone at work. he chitters in agreement, a few ducks already nesting in his fluff, and you can't help but smile at the adorable scene

taking care of the ducklings actually goes smoother than you expected, with Foul Legacy taking care of them when you're gone and everyone waiting to greet you in the evening. the little birds get into the habit of following Legacy in a single file line, having conversations of trills and quacks as they putter around the house. or if they get tired, the ducks bury themselves in his hair and fluff for a quick nap, as soft as the nest they're used to. and finally, after a few weeks of searching, you come across a distressed mother duck looking for her babies- it's actually one of the ducklings that alerts you, the one that likes sleeping in your pocket, quacking and squirming until you set it down and it waddles over to its relieved mother. you're both sad to see them go, Legacy letting out a low whine and pouting as he watches his little friends trot away into the water to follow their mom, and you give him a gentle squeeze of reassurance

but a few days later you find a collection of ducks standing outside your door, the mother gracefully herding her little ones along- seems the babies wanted to visit :)
