i'm putting out a message to anyone who participated in 2020/2021 mcytblr!

i've recently reignited my passion for archiving niche fandom history! if you were involved in early mcytblr, sleepyblr, idotsblr, or dteamblr, i would LOVE to pick your brain and collect firsthand accounts of what it was like and different mcytblr events!

a short (but by no means exhaustive) list of events/happenings i'm interested in collecting accounts of:

the mcytblr elections, dlying, gay castle, 'kinnie' imposter blogs, friend or host, any discourse you can remember, the general vibe, truthing, critblr, copypastas (dream is a youtuber, hey wilbur, in this video we coded it so that i am in love with georgenotfound) and whatever sticks out to you from that era!

alex james' tenuous grasp of basic conversational french

#blur #you might need to turn up the volume #alex's alright really. maybe at some point he was better but got quite rusty #the “fait naître” / “fenêtre” mix up is funny and very understandable #anyway i just love how nagui (the host) is so pissy the whole time #because his english is shit and alex can't really help him so you can see all hope leaving his eyes #but also he tries to get a very predictable (boring) interview out of them which they're not into #and you can tell that he quickly feels like the band is trying to mess with him and becomes defensive which is sooo funny to me #honestly blur weren't the worst at all during that show. matt sharp and terry hall were little shits during their interviews.#but nagui seemed to like them more as artists so maybe that's why he took a dislike to blur specifically...#there's a french radio show interview from a year later where damon says he thought nagui was a prick #and alex says he heard that nagui has refused to do anything with them ever again #flash forward to 2021 when damon went on the show again #nagui needed time to recover i guess. and for damon to mellow with age and stop smiling like a sociopath

I think I genuinely might learn some thai from watching the thai luca dub when i get bored. i already know how to say sea monster and a passive aggressive way to say 'okay' (both with butchered tone pronunciation)

#A fe months after my dad died in 2021 a lady at my church invited me to a girl's night at her house #And another and another #And soon I had a group of Catholic friends that were exactly what I needed at that moment in my life #But then a year and a half ago the lady who hosted the girls nights had a baby and now she's running a mother's group at the church #so she doesn't have as much time to dedicate to hosting #And it's become a every few months sort of thing #And then some friends I used to see at church a lot started going to a different church #I also joined the young adult group at my church not long after my dad passed and went to the meetings and made friends there #But then the lady who ran it (who I was friends with as well) moved out of state #And it was sorta in limbo for a good 6 months until one of the guys finally started it again #But that was right around the time I got my new job and started working full time #so I have been to like one of 5 events in the last few months #And I felt rather sad cause a lot of my old friends from the group didn't come #tho I did get to know some new people and it was fun #I just feel like everyone is leaving me again #Just like when I graduated highschool and suddenly all of my friends from my homeschool groups vanished #I also stopped helping at the home school co-op I went to which I've been doing since i graduated because of my job #I just feel so lonely

realized i think i forgot to pause my patreon billing cycle for july (and looking at my page now i think...i also forgot to do it in march) so im sorry to anyone who was charged and wasnt expecting it. its time for me to accept that i will be taking much longer with this book than i’d anticipated so for now i’ve unpublished my page and will relaunch once osf is ready to be shared, which definitely won’t be in september like i’d hoped :(

thankfully, osa and oes aren’t going anywhere! :’) but mark my words. i Will be back one day
