I hate French universities' administrations so fuckin much ! I'm currently changing schools and reorienting myself to do a publishing Master degree and in order to join my new university, I need documents from my former university. I wrote to them on the 10th of July ; they never wrote back. We are now the first of August and I wrote to them again because I still need those fucking documents, but, of course, because we're in France and it's the summer vacations, the school is closed so I won't have any answer before the 24 of August ! BUT! In my new university, they said that any document sent after the 21st of July means that my inscription will only be valid at the beginning of September. Except I'm going back to THAT school on the third of September. So, I just won't have any documents that will prove that I am, in fact, a student at that university the day I'm going to said university.

An interesting tibit to add with that one anons noticing of route name changes is that in fire emblem blue is usually the main lords color so Dimitri would be that. Red is usually the enemy/red emperor ie Edelgard. And yellow/gold us usually another enemy unit not associated with the red entering the playing field. We actually see this in hopes/houses in game play sometimes. But!! Verdant/green is usually good/allies. Meaning that we were warned with Claude's route names. Golden wildfire ie yellow meaning he would now be well not Claude. And in houses Verdant meaning he was well our Claude. Another interesting way to view it given Byleth whole hair/eye change is that verdant could imply with Claude's route how even if he doesn't like or believe in the church all that much he does believe and have faith in byleth. He may not believe in the goddess but he believes in byleth. Just thought that was an interesting way to read this honestly

You're exactly right: traditionally, player units are colored blue and non-playable allies are coded as green in Fire Emblem games: even Jeralt in the Three Houses prologue mission is a green unit since he's helping you out but not under your control. Meanwhile in battles with multiple groups of enemies (like the auxiliary battles with generic enemies and an extra demonic beast), the primary enemy units are in red, and the other enemies are in yellow. With this drastic change in Claude's approach between Three Houses and Three Hopes, the switch from Verdant to Golden really does seem to be a warning.

I don't really see the point about Byleth, though. Claude doesn't say anything about not liking gods -- he doesn't like blind faith in gods. He doesn't look down on Sothis and faith in her, he simply doesn't believe in praying to her as though that's going to help him achieve his dream.

Claude: I've always hated the idea of praying to a god. After all, you can only really rely on yourself. I still believe that. You can't win a war by leaving your fate in the hands of a god. Only tangible facts can really decide a war. Which side has the most troops, the best tactics, the better organization and planning. Of course, miracles can happen. And by that, I mean things that are completely outside of your control. Things that only seem to add up if you believe in the concept of fate...things like...well, like meeting you, for example.

The thing is, Claude has seen what Byleth can do. He comes to trust them over their time together, and in doing so he opens up enough to put his faith in them to help him achieve his dream. And I think that would have happened regardless of the Sothis merge -- because it wasn't the power of the goddess housed in Byleth that Claude came to believe in: it was his friend, and the fact that he could rely on their help rather than having to rely solely on himself.
