Please make movies/tv shows set in the Wizarding World for adults. Those of us that have been there from the beginning are old enough now that we want to see more than just Hogwarts. Show me the dark times in an R-Rated setting to show the true brutality that is often only hinted at. (Also…. We don’t have to involve Jk)

HBO Harry Potter reboot this, diverse cast that, LGBT rep this, marauders that... Guys, JKR is an executive producer, she's gonna keep it exactly like her books. As much as I would love a black Hermione and a Desi bisexual Harry and canon wolfstar and an explicitly gay Dumbledore and everything, this is JKR we're talking about. Let's all face the truth, she's pushing for this reboot because she's mad the original cast is pro trans rights and wants to erase them from hp pop culture. The biggest difference might be Peeves being included.

I spent years in the Harry Potter fandom. Those books brought me comfort, joy, and friends from around the world. I spent countless hours reading, watching the films, attending the cons, and creating art and community online and off. My life wouldn’t be the same without Harry Potter. For all those reasons, I wish I could be excited about the @hbomax TV show - but I can’t.

We do not want this show. JKR’s anti-trans rhetoric is helping fuel a movement that is getting trans people harassed, alienated, and killed. Creating a Harry Potter TV now adds legitimacy and support to her hateful, harmful, wrong beliefs.

We will not watch this show. Fans have written an open letter to HBO telling them to cancel the show. I hope you’ll read it, and join me in signing to say HBO, No: Don’t Platform Transphobia!

Pray tell, what is the point of rebooting a beloved saga whose last movie was released not even 15 years ago?

The movies are far from perfect in terms of book fidelity (although I still think the first three are absolute gems) and I get that a series of seven seasons would give the books proper justice but the Wizarding World is NOT just about Harry, Ron and Hermione.

There are so many interesting stories, so many things the movies failed or didn’t have time to show. Yes, Tom Riddle, I’m looking at you baby.

Besides, Daniel, Emma and Rupert (as well as many other actors) are so iconic in the collective imagination that a recast is an absolute suicide imo.

This is what I meant when I said I will hunt down HBO if they recast young grindeldore in the Deathly Hallows. Someone said “well Jamie and Toby are too old” duh?! I know they’re too old to play teenagers, I simply meant i can’t and won’t imagine or consider anyone else playing Albus and Gellert.

Also RIP Fantastic Beasts, I guess.

Some predictions for the Harry Potter show they're making.

- Seamus will be gay, and it'll be confirmed via Twitter, but not anywhere in the show.

- Dean will be confirmed bisexual but you will not see this in the show, but on Pottermore.

- Hermione will be mixed race. Bc J Karen Rowling is obsessed with black Hermione as a bulwark against the racism allegations.

- Buckbeak will be gay. Openly. But he doesn't talk.

- Dobby will be Mexican and speak Spanish. Dobby es LIBRE.

- Madam Hooch will be a lesbian.

- Madam Sprout will be black.

- Cho Chang will be Korean.

- Padme and Parvati Patil will be belly dancers

- Severus Snape will be Indian and too hot for who he's supposed to be.

- Nymphadora Tonks will be a cheeky bisexual who has a throwaway line about how she loves women.

- Voldemort will dramatically talk about how he loves trans people and will make a better world for them.

- all the death eaters are depraved bisexuals

- Bellatrix Lestrange will be Polynesian

- Cornelius Fudge will be black

- Neville will be from New Zealand and possibly Maori

- Zabini Blaise will be gay. He's also going to die this time around.

- Winky will be a lesbian.

I feel like I’m the only one excited for the new Harry Potter tv show HBO max is making. Like characters they left out from the books like Peeves, Andromeda, Winky, Charlie Weasley, etc, will be able to come alive on our screens.
