Forgive me if this comes across as strange, but I really enjoy the rich color you use for blood in your drawings. It's great for contrast against Machete's otherwise pale complexion, but it also really conveys the blood's vitality - it makes it feel alive and living, warm, even. That color, and all your art, really, is vibrant and full of life, enough so that it challenges the negative associations of death and injury that blood conveys. I just wish poor Machete had more of it inside him than outside

Thank you! I've never thought about it from that angle.

I know that realistically I should color the blood darker, maybe with a more maroon tint, but the visual intensity of vivid scarlet is just irresistable to me I guess. The excuse I tell myself is that in Machete's case, his white fur naturally provides the lightest possible background for that blood to sit on, maximizing the brightness and vibrancy it has to offer.

This is beside the point but I've also understood that anemia can affect the color of your blood if severe enough, but I'm not a medical professional so I can't really verify how visible that is to a naked eye. Not having enough hemoglobin makes it look diluted in a way.

education is literally the most valuable thing in life. please please PLEASE take advantage of that. self concept is important, good looks are important, happiness is important, health is important, but without education we wouldn't even know what any of that even means. ♡

having knowledge makes you magnetic. when you're smart, people will look up to you. and if people look up to you, it means they think about you, they admire you, and you have an influence on them.

life is knowledge. the more you learn, the more you are. knowledge is the fundamental basics to life. nothing is the root of everything but we wouldn't even know what nothing is without education. we wouldn't have language, we wouldn't have concepts, we wouldn't have technology, we wouldn't have the screen you're reading this on. we wouldn't have tumblr 😨

the smartest people ALWAYS note down what they learn, whether it be big or small. if you have lots of knowledge and / or the memory capacity of a goldfish then naturally you may not always remember what you learn. keeping it noted down in any preferably easily accessible format of your choice is so helpful and a very smart choice if you want to be an Intellectual™. notebook, sketchbook, binder, google docs, notion pages, tumblr posts, notes app, anything you like !!!!! just keep it noted down !!!! ♡

so many people i know and millions of people throughout the world suffer with a crippling addiction to their phones, but what are you actually doing on said phone? you spend ages on your phone, your tablet, your laptop, reading, writing, playing video games, and so on, but even then, are you genuinely learning? are you taking the time to absorb the knowledge placed before you or are you skimming through it all in a mindless cycle of media consumption?

think about how you can utilise the things around you to learn. for example, make all that time spent on your devices useful. research, study, learn in your free time. knowledge is abundance. you can use your local library, your local bookshops, ur school or ur college or ur workplace just to find out more about your surroundings and about the world. it is so much more valuable thank you'd think.

wisdom is the highest form of knowledge. to learn is to live so living is the only way you're going to truly learn, if that makes sense. therefore, by using this direct method, you gain the highest manner of knowledge; wisdom. wisdom is not being book smart or knowing how to solve equations or write essays but wisdom is genuine, pure, raw, life experience and life lessons, which, surprise surprise, can only be gained through experience and living your life. go out, try things, get out of your comfort zone, get comfy being uncomfy. you got this. ♡

"nerds dont know how to socialise!!!" okay so maybe i adhere to this stereotype sometimes but social interaction is, however unfortunate it may be, a key part of being intellectual and having genuine knowledge. going back to wisdom and learning through experience, speaking with and networking with and sparking connections with others is a vital way to be educated and informed and cultured along with enhancing your social skills, because we need to know how to interact with others, too. if we can't spread said knowledge through connections and socialising so it can be passed down for hundreds of thousands for years to come then there is no point in learning at all because it'll have no use in the long run.

feed ur brain. i cannot stress this enough. read books, fiction or non fiction. i know you've heard this a million times but it's true. read just a random article of interest every day to get your brain working. learn a new word every day, read news reports, letters, interesting blogs, articles, websites, do puzzles, crosswords, wordsearches, memory games, listen to podcasts, audiobooks, watch documentaries, youtube videos, interviews, ted talks, video essays, EXERCISE UR BRAIN

as i've said before, and i'll reiterate again, knowledge extends beyond simply having book smarts and knowing how to work with letters and numbers. the most powerful method of communication amongst humans is emotion, and being well versed in how to read, understand and communicate said language is only learnt through real life experience and observation of real life experiences where the use of emotional intelligence and empathy come into play. analyse these experiences and note down everything

one thing i was taught ever since i was little is that when ur online you need to be veeeery careful with all the information you get fed because there are lots of people out there, esp on the internet, with lots of different intentions and lots of different facts, even if they have good intentions and don't mean to mislead you. always double check whatever ur told with someone you know or on another website or two or a physical yet reliable source if you have one to hand, and cite your own opinions too. you get to choose what does and doesn't get to enter your mind. your mind and your knowledge is yours entirely and only yours to be tampered with and adjusted in any way you'd like.

social etiquette and politeness

countries and their respective laws, cultures, landmarks etc.

history of your own family and ancestry

languages you're interested in and basic phrases in several languages

information about your dream and / or current career

finances and how to manage your money

pet psychology and how to take care of them

capital cities and basics about places around the world, esp if you plan on going travelling

something beautiful about knowledge is that you'll never run out of it and it can never be taken away from you. people can take anything from you, but never your intelligence. ♡

how do you turn your black line art into coloured line art? trying to get a feel for it but i'm struggling in determining what's the most effective method

i USED to do it by hand but then i discovered this lovely little thang, an auto-action for clip studio paint that just. does it for me. i've been really enjoying the black outer-lines and colored inner-lines lately, so how i've been doing it is like this: 1.) use the auto action on my flat colors layer to create a dark + saturated clipping layer 2.) move the newly created colored clipping layer above my lines....coloring them. i usually spend time tweaking these colors w/ hue + saturation adjustments and manual touchups, but for the sake of a visual tutorial in gif form i didn't here outside of re-adding the white to the eyeshines.

3.) select the line layer and expand the selection by two or three pixels. 4.) reselect the colored lines clipping layer. 5.) use ctrl+x to cut the now selected out edges of the colored lines, showing the black lines underneath

and then from there i'll sometimes add more outlines/drop shadows/ect or change the black to just a very dark saturated color, based on the Vibe. i hiiiiighly recommend clip studio paint + it's awesome auto actions forever because of how much time it saves (also also how fun they are to use)

I'm thinking of making Vaschete bracelets, and I'm not sure if I should make, in Machete's bracelet, white or black the main colour; white because of his fur (obviously) and black because of his clothes. I will also add a bit of red.

I thought you would like to know and because I would like to have your opinion for the bracelet.

I don't know, you're the one making the bracelet, I'm sure you have a better idea of what kind of color combination would work the best. I'd imagine more black could look really striking, but if there's too much of it it threatens to drown out the white and red.

This is the palette I personally associate with him. The black and the vivid red are the high contrast, deliberately eyecatching colors, but those come from what he wears. His natural color scheme leans into this sort of coral/salmon/peachy pink direction.

Faifa is ready to die before he makes someone else uncomfortable, so thank goodness Wine is always around to remind Faifa that he will actually die if he continues to try to make everyone happy.

And then Wine gave Faifa the thing he wanted in the first place but was willing to sacrifice because Faifa is always thinking of others and now it's time someone thought about him!

I also appreciate that his Black Brooder brother, with his Green Guy boyfriend in tow, immediately went after him once he found out he spent all night out with his mentee.

So now Gun's even asking what they possibly talked about for hours all night long while Yellow Yal Arm is trying to play bad cop and get to the bottom of this.

But he is too cute for that negativity.

He is a lover, not a fighter, and he knows the best Blue Boy in all the lands would never hurt anyone, especially Wine, which is why Arm tasks Faifa with bringing our dark Blue Boy out of his shell.

So Faifa decides to do it in the kindest gayest way possible by simply being nice to the guy. Pete got Vegas that way, so it obviously works with even the toughest cases.

Maybe that's why Arm keeps wearing blue; he wants to be a Blue Boy since they are just so great, but I can't really think too much on that because Red Rascal Arc is . . . well, existing, shirtless.

And this is the proper reaction to witnessing that man, exist, shirtless. Both. Both are the proper reaction.

But crying in a Texas Roadhouse is not the proper reaction to eating with friends, mostly when your buddies are filming content. However, this feels true to a dark Blue Boy.

Because it's what dark Blue Boys do. Just being depressing. Crying in showers. Crying in the Garden of Olives. Crying in his sleep. Crying in the club. Crying. All the time.

So I actually think it was smart that light Blue Boy Faifa ran to his dad to ask about how to heal a broken heart since his dad is also a dark Blue Boy who was so depressed after their mom left him that he vowed to never love again, yet he seems fine now, right?!

And Faifa does not need the judgement of his brother and brother-in-law in this situation! But I love that Faifa was like, "break up with each other then I can ask for your advice" and it looked like Yotha was legit going to punch him for even putting that curse into the air.

Because Faifa is the BEST Blue Boy, yet he thinks he is not capable of loving someone else, when he, in fact, will be the BEST at loving Wine (and I think he is going to be heartbroken about it, but I'm not there yet), so I need his brother to support him in this effort!

Faifa is so good at loving Wine that he runs to the bar even after he said he wasn't going simply because Wine asked him to, and as much as I want to be upset that Arc and Arm keep playing color games with me, I noticed Arc has a teeny tiny bit of red on him.

And the back of Arm's shirt is yellow, so I am not mad at them! Also, this entire section of the episode was hilarious since Arc was big mad his man was telling Wine love was dumb, and at the same time Yotha, who is drunk just like everyone else, connected the dots that his brother was trying to help out Wine. I loved it!

But these two color-coded toxicitos entered the scene just in time to give Wine a gay crisis in the middle of the drunk scene of a BL.

Faifa grabbed that boy and shuffled him off to the bathroom so quickly because Klao and Arc both were looking at that kid like he was going to say some homophobic shit, BUT BABY IS GAY! This was excellent! I'm living my best life!

And we immediately get treated with Faifa rubbing Wine's back and trying to soothe him. I LOVE FAIFA!

But not as much as I love Wine at this exact moment pinning Faifa to the wall with his hands around Faifa's neck as he has a whole breakdown about being gay and fearing everyone will hate him.

WHICH PROMPTS HIM TO KISS FAIFA!!!! AND FAIFA KISSES HIM BACK!!!!!

Faifa, you're in trouble, bro. You're already lost in the deep blue boy sea. You don't know what heartache is about to hit you because you only know that Wine broke up with his girlfriend because he likes guys. But you don't know he broke up with her because he liked her brother, and we have no idea what that brother spoke to his parents about since Wine ran away before Toey could say, and . . .

These bars are giving me bad vibes, so you are about to have some competition that you don't even see coming (out) because her brother probably came out to his parents and Wine is going to be a mess about it.

Yeah, hold your little Vino Baby while you can, sir. Cuddle him before the narrative screws all of us over.

Because this man is so unpredictable that he logged into his ex's YouTube account just to mess up her algorithm so he could get his camera back. He is a genius, but also, petty. That's a dangerous combination, Faifa.

Look at Faifa. Look at him. Look at my Best Blue Boy in all the universe. Look at how chill he was seconds before Wine called him and he dropped everything to run to him and comfort him. LOOK AT WHAT A KING LOOKS LIKE!

Faifa has the perfect words to make Wine feel safe, and the way he looks at Wine is unbelievably soft, but we all know what this means when we still have six episodes left in their story, right?

We're fucked.

Because now the show has plenty of time to show us that even though Faifa said that Wine makes his heart flutter, Wine will struggle with it since Faifa treats everyone special, and for Tor to make his appearance since it's seemed very important that Tor spoke to his parents.

But I could be completely wrong, and we are just going to ride this wave of happiness until the very end.

Or drown trying.
