The Blue Moon Ball (Part I): Dancing

As I wander the halls of the venue looking for a secluded alcove, a new thought gives me hesitation. If I am planning to read into the host, I'll have to at least meet with them first. I'll need a name, a face, or any detail I can use to connect my questions to my deck. The more I know, the more likely my divination will succeed. First, I need a lead. I could try my hand at clairvoyance. Maybe I can fish out the name or face of the host so finding them won't be as difficult. All I have for reference is my invitation letter and its handwriting. I can work with this.

Finally tucking myself away into a more private area, I call upon my palisman, Ivory. He is a narwhal and the ornament topping my staff, but he can separate and float around at will. My mentor helped me carve him from palistrom wood once I started to earn my stripes as a wizard. He has a light blue body, yellow tusk, white belly, and pink accents. He also bares a small crystal ball that is slightly buried in his chest. It serves as my spell casting focus and a tool for divination on the go. Ivory begins to swim through the air and levitates in front of me.

"Ivory, dear, may I ponder the orb please?"

He gives an enthusiastic nod as a reply. He must be just as excited for some investigation as I am. He's always been the inquisitive type. (I have no doubt that's why we are so close). Ivory stretches and the crystal ball begins to dislodge from his chest and float, suspending in front of me. I retrieve my invitation and begin tracing my fingers over the ink. I close my eyes, take a deep breath, and begin the divination.

"Show me the host of the Blue Moon Ball (@wizblr-blue-moon-ball)."

The crystal ball flares to life and images flash across the orb, becoming projected into my mind. Brilliant cloth... dark skin... long ears... celestial jewelry... and... wings? What a unique character. The images swell and begin to transform into letters. The text font is almost identical to what I read in the invitation. They letters are written in light one after another:

L. U. R. I...

Then the visions fade; the orb goes dark once more. I suppose that's all I am able to see with my current connection with the host. Though vague, the visions were helpful. Now I know what characteristics to look for, and more importantly, a name. Luri? Is that all, or were the visions incomplete? I think I'll have to socialize more if I am to learn anything else.

Ivory reunited with his orb and nestled comfortably back on top of my staff. I entered the hallways once more to find them oddly empty, but majestic music was echoing down the corridors. Following it, I could make out a large crowd of voices and endless thumps stepping in time. Oh dear... the dance must have started without me! I began to jog down the halls while gripping my staff with nervous anticipation. This quickly proved to be a reckless mistake as I turn the corner and immediately collide with a beastman (@hyper-lynx). I fall too the ground and my staff clatters to the floor with me.

"AH! A thousand pardons! Are you hurt! I'm not much of a healer but I can mend your wounds if you are!"

Stupid little fact, in banana fish ash says the f slur twice throughout the anime and manga combined, but what the funny part is about this is that they both come from two completely different places with completely different contexts.

The anime uses it as a way to insult Marvin (completely fair I say do worse) but as you can see it's no where to be found in the manga.

However the manga uses it as a joke directed at eiji and this again can't be seen in the anime.

Favorite TV show?

I really like The Expanse while it was going, so for recent shows it'd probably be that.

Including even non-recent shows... I'm not sure, there's too many. Warehouse 13 is a contender, though it's been a long time since I've rewatched it.

The TV franchise i most consistently liked was probably star trek (yeah yeah I'm a nerd I know), partly because it brings up good childhood memories and partly because space cool

There's a ton of other series I could shout out but I'm sure I'd miss some so I think it's best to leave some mystery...

(Supplimental: as for anime, Saiki K is fantastic (the season 1 dub being my favorite), and I haven't watched enough other stuff to really know my preferences in that space. Mandatory honorable mention to Beastars, which was coincidentally also how I found out that my sibling is also a furry)

Urgent News.

One of the largest threats to queer safety, especially queer youth on the internet, is the KOSA bill. It is effectively a censorship bill that will make access to the internet for queers, nigh impossible and constantly monitored.

Now of course the council's concerns may lie within the queer, but the bill will also affect pro-Palestinian messages, activism, truthful information, etc. It will make it difficult to look for sexual health information, information on Palestine, Sudan, the Congo, climate change, queer history, queer info in general.

It is a bill that the USA is going to use to effectively stop all the criticism against them, all the information on the genocides committed in the name of capital, and block out safe spaces for queers in and out of the closet.

And it is being discussed whether to have it added to the FAA. What does that mean? The FAA was the same way the Tiktok ban was passed so easily, a way for the US to pass bills without much resistance. So you might be thinking:

What is to be done?

Well for one, if you are a member of the council reading this, you are obligated to reblog this and spread the message far and wide. And we mean it. Whether through posters, posts, shouting, protests, whatever you can do, you must do. Even if you aren't a council member, morally you should still do it.

As evidently the internet is in jeopardy.

Other than that, sign these petitions, spread these links and urge others to do so. Call your representatives, email them, mail them, fax them. And again, urge others to do the same.

You don't need to be American to spread this or sign these. And you should care still even if you aren't American, as this will be a global effect if KOSA passes.

UHMMM yes i am lore building for him........ i haven't decided everything yet but i know i want him to be a distant cousin species of goji's. everyone's fangoji lore is different but i def imagine him as a part of my personal monsterverse au rather than existing in his own world with no friends haha loser

likeeee for comparison it's probably similar to Crocodylia encompassing crocodiles, alligators, and gharials?? labra is in a similar niche to zilla for me. goji is the largest/apex species of the gojiran order, whereas zilla & labra are smaller and occupy a different niche. Big bruiser lion vs. carcal or lynx type thing.

my hc is that the vast majority of labra's species (pre-mutation art is what they looked like) was wiped out when ghido got into hollow earth. which is also the same time he wiped out most of the divine moths and a couple other species :''(

it ended with ghido iced but it fucked up the hollow earth ecosystem for a while and led to a lot more radiation leakage since he tore the place up real bad. labra was Almost Dead and ended up hibernating to recover by a radiation vent, but he'd laid down in feldspar vein that kinda grew to cover him and turned to labradorite and idk magic radiation nonsense it fused with him and caused him to grow/mutate.

the ghido massacre also caused battra to hibernate/mutate too so it's a Big Event in my silly au world. most of the kaiju that are clearly a result of mutation fuckery (biollante, kessho too) may be related to it as well but i haven't fully fleshed it out yet. it would mostly be based around goji's hyper-regeneration doing the thing where like.. if a big enough chunk of him gets lobbed off and has access to energy it mutates and tries to regenerate and causes a fucked up clone siblings thing idk omg ok i'm in tangent city good god sorry i was supposed to be talking about my gay son

ANYWAYSSSSSS for more general hc/character stuff: >labra is genuinely terrified of ghido and even gets freaked out when he hears wing beats without warning. (mosu beats rodan's ass bcuz he divebombs labra for fun sometimes) >he lives on monster island and ventures down to hollow earth sometimes, but he won't return to his old home because it just reminds him everyone else of his species is gone. (he isn't even his own species anymore bcuz of the mutation. so they're basically extinct.) >he loves swimming and sometimes just lays in the shallows to absorb sunlight. stretches out like a lazy ass cat. cat boy behaviour >he's loyal to goji and doesn't start shit with humans unless they attack first. even then he does his best to steer clear. >mothra likes his dorsal plates and talks with him sometimes (Moth Therapy) they can bond over ghido hating it's a good time >he has a mutually bitch-bother dynamic with rodan where rodan bothers the shit outta him until he manages to grab that turkey and idk sits on him or something. but if rodan really pisses him off he doesn't mind actually throwing hands because he knows goji won't care if he puts the bird in it's place. >he also likes angy, zilla, and bio a lot too.
