Hyperphantasia: the condition of having extremely vivid mental imagery or visualization.
Anon wanted to ask this because they were a kid with hyperphantasia. Their view is that yes, a kid's mind can fill in the blanks and would now also have a visual memory of the material, making them more likely to be affected by it. But anon can also understand the argument for no, as the kid could be just as likely as any child to be harmed by these things, just more inclined to remember them.

Neurodivergent flags!
[PT: Neurodivergent flags! /END PT]
I made flags of neurodivergencies that I didn’t found on tumblr
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1: psychopathy
[IMAGE ID: Left, the image is a red, white, and black striped flag with a big white stripe in the middle. The flag has a white stripe in the center of it, and the smaller black and red stripes have a white space between them. The flag is symmetrical and has a clean look. /END ID]
2: sociopathy
[IMAGE ID: Right, the image is a blue, white, and black striped flag with a big white stripe in the middle. The flag has a white stripe in the center of it, and the smaller black and blue stripes have a white space between them. The flag is symmetrical and has a clean look. /END ID]
You can use if you’re a sociopath or psychopath! And, sociopaths and psychopaths that view their condition as two different things, psychopaths/sociopaths that don’t use the label aspd to describe themselves but prefer to use the label psychopath or sociopath to describe themselves.
Made the first one for my beloved friend
Hyperphantasia
And hyperphantasia the opposite of aphantasia
Having a vivid imagination, with vivid images of memories and etc. Search on Google to know more!
Tumblr media
[IMAGE ID: This image is a colorful striped pattern on a black background. The colors are bright and vibrant, with a rainbow of pale colors from red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple, and pink. The pattern is made up of thin, diagonal lines that are spaced evenly apart. The lines are from the center to right and left in growing width creating a symmetrical design. The overall effect is one of movement and energy. /END IMAGE ID]
Made this flag for myself since it’s a comorbidity for people with schizophrenia, but you can have hyperphantasia without schizophrenia.
Mythomania flag
Tumblr media
[IMAGE ID: his image is a green and black striped pattern. There are 7 stripes horizontal and 1 vertical, and the colors are dark green and black. The image is a solid color with stripes shading from dark green in the middle to both the bottom and the upper side black-green stripes. /END ID]
Again for my friend but it’s free to use!! :)
Hope people don’t judge me and my neurodivergence before knowing my life and symptoms that I experience just because I’m selfdx I was scared to post it :(

Picture an apple.
If none of these are quite right, choose the closest and describe your experience in the notes/tags.

Man my mind is too visual to work correctly I'm realizing. I'm constantly translating visual information into other formats and maybe that's what has me so tired all the time
Like I'll wander around looking for my headphones. Often, not always, but if Im low on mental energy I won't say "where are my head phones?" Or "I am looking for my ear buds"
I'll say "where did the river rock go" and "I am looking for my white stone" sometimes it's "the plugs" and "my ears"
Because I have Google pixel buds and the case for them looks like this:
Tumblr media
It's literally a white river rock oval thing.
(I will also say that if you have sound sensitivity and ear plugs don't help you because you would rather still hear things close to you, the pro buds are amazing and frankly should be considered as valuable assistive tech. They have two modes, active noise cancelling that is dead silent and smart audio filtering that reduces only the sharp and loud stuff. You can be in a crowd, not hear the crowd, but If someone nearby is speaking to you their voice gets through the noise cancelling and is actually made more clear sounding. I was lucky and got these free with my phone but trust me, very worth saving up for)

okay now how the fuck do we make friends in the tumblr disabled community T-T
should I make a list like other communities do sometimes?
if you - have ADHD - have had a TBI or brain damage caused by multiple concussions - are plural (origin doesn't matter just please tag sys/course and don't talk to us about it) - have sensory sensitivities - use AAC (we usually don't but need to sometimes) - have high support needs (we don't but explicitly don't want to be friends with only low support needs people) - are neuropunk, madpunk, and/or c-punk (we can only ID wit neuropunk and madpunk as far as we know but want friends across all) - have hyperphantasia (not a disability that I know of but definitely impacts ours)
you should follow and say hello!! you can also do that if you're not on this list lol, these are just specific things we thought of

Recently found out I have aphantasia, and only mildly freaking out that people are out here on the average hallucinating actual images when they think.
I know it's not really hallucinating, but the way some of my friends and family have described their visual thought process, it really sounds like it.
I'm a very visual person though, I'm an artist and even though I can't "visualize" things, I still like to get my thoughts on paper. I didn't realize people are like seeing what they're drawing in their head.
I've found a lot of articles explaining what aphantasia might look like to someone who can visualize, but I can't find anything that could help a person WITH aphantasia see what other people are seeing in their heads. I know it must be different for everyone, but the idea of images as thoughts still amazes me.
If there's anyone out there artistically inclined that can visualize, I would love to see someone try and draw some sort of actual visual representation of what your thoughts look like to you.
What does actual visualization look like to someone who can do it?

it’s so funny to me that my sister and i sit on complete opposite ends of what we can visualise
she has hyperfantasia and imagines things in so much detail she could tell you what the backsplash of a kitchen she saw in a dream 5 months ago looked like, and i teeter the edge of aphantasia and can’t fully visualise an apple lol
