Hangry
Word count: ~2,000
Pairing: Steve x reader and Bucky (platonic), no pronouns used
Warnings: Just a lot of fluff. Mild cursing.
It's been a year and a half since my last posted works! I'm VERY out of practice 😅 I'm trying to work on some smaller prompts on my list while I get myself back into writing and continue working on the Loki blip in the universe prompt. It's not my best, but I hope you enjoy in any case!
This was based on a Prompt for Steve x reader as well as a prompt where reader and Bucky bug Steve while he's making a public appearance.
Tumblr media
“Tell us, Captain, sir - how did the Avengers manage to track down the villain’s hideout this time?”
“Well, good sir - we have state-of-the-art technology that allows us to track electronic signals from thousands of miles away…”
“Ugh, he is such a ham!” you muttered to Bucky under your breath as you observed Steve from a distance. “We’re never going to make it to the store if he keeps stopping every time a reporter tries to chat him up!”
“Steve can’t resist bragging about us,” Bucky chided, nudging you with his elbow.
“Yeah, well… some of us are hungry!”
You huffed and folded your arms across your chest in annoyance, trying to catch the reporter’s eye with your scowling face, but she was far too enamored by the star-spangled captain to pay you any mind. How had a simple grocery run for ice cream turned into a twenty-minute interview with the press??
“I swear, I’m gonna go drag him away from that reporter by the ear if he doesn’t stop talking in the next 60 seconds,” you grumbled.
“Why do that when we can mess with him instead?”
You turned to look at Bucky, who had a mischievous gleam in his eyes.
“Go on…”
He smirked, shooting you a wink. “Watch and learn.”
You watched silently as Bucky meandered casually toward where Steve stood speaking with the reporter and her photographer. Steve was none the wiser to his friend approaching from behind.
“… but the serum isn’t the only thing that makes us heroes. It takes a whole load of grit and determina-HAY-tion-!”
Steve flinched as his best friend subtly reached up and pinched his side mid-sentence, effectively silencing him. The captain recovered quickly, though, chuckling nonchalantly as he flashed Bucky a look. He continued on with his sentence after that, refusing to acknowledge what just happened.
“Wait - Steve is ticklish??” you whispered incredulously as Bucky returned to your side.
“Very. Why does that surprise you?”
“I don’t know, I guess I just assumed the serum eliminated weaknesses like that.”
Bucky chuckled. “Nah - if anything it made it worse.”
“Oh-ho, I’ve got to try this for myself!”
You quietly paced up behind the blabbing soldier, pretending you were casually walking past to avoid drawing attention from passerby. As you stepped by him, you reached out and swiftly dug your fingertips into his ribs for less than a second. Steve choked on his words and whipped his head around instinctively. You ducked out of his field of vision and prodded his other side.
“Excuse me,” Steve requested politely, turning around as nonchalantly as possible to find you standing behind him with a guilty grin on your face. “Can I help you?”
“I just came to remind you that we have somewhere we have to be,” you stated sweetly.
“Yes, but it isn’t urgent,” he muttered.
“Oh, I think you’ll find it to be very urgent, actually,” you whispered, shooting him a cheeky wink. With a long, drawn-out sigh, Steve turned to the reporter.
“My apologies, ma’am. Duty calls.”
You saw Bucky clap a hand over his mouth and nose to cover the snort that burst from his nares. Trying hard not to openly roll your eyes in front of the reporter, you nodded in the direction of the grocery store and began marching purposefully toward your destination, with Steve following in your wake.
“You two are infuriating,” Steve grumbled once you were out of earshot from the reporter.
“Excuse me - I just want to go get my ice cream and head back home to eat it,” you countered. “You’re the one who decided to schmooze with the first person who asked you about your superpowers.”
“I’m just trying to maintain good public relations. Maybe you should try it sometime.”
“Ugh, no. I hate talking about myself.”
The three of you bickered amicably the entire way to the store. It hadn’t ended by the time you’d made it back to the tower kitchen and dropped your grocery bags on the counter.
“I’m just saying - it wouldn’t kill you to wear a hat or something to hide your face from reporters when we’re just trying to go to the store,” you griped, shrugging your sweatshirt off your shoulders and hanging it on the back of one of the kitchen stools.
“It wouldn’t kill you to try to be friendly to strangers every once in a while,” Steve retorted.
“Excuse me - I am a very friendly person! I’m just selective about it.”
“Friendly as an angry porcupine, sure.”
You gasped indignantly. “Are you saying I’m sharp with people??”
“You’re just a little… prickly.”
“Ooh, now that’s an insult,” Bucky hummed sarcastically.
“You’re just as bad, you know. Forget porcupines - you’re like a venomous sea urchin or something,” Steve shot back at his friend. You snorted.
“Steve… you’ve really got to work on your teasing skills,” you chuckled. “A ‘sea urchin?’ Really?”
“I could just take your ice cream”
You narrowed your eyes. “Don’t you dare.”
Steve held your gaze for a moment, eyes darting briefly to the bag on the counter between you with the ice cream inside. You lunged for the bag handle, but Steve predicted your move, snatching it out of your reach before you could get a hand on it.
“Damnit, Steve!! Give it back!” you whined, rounding the counter to swipe for the grocery bag. He turned his back to you, maintaining a barrier between you and the prize. “Bucky! Help me out here!”
“Nah, this is pretty funny to watch,” Bucky chuckled, snickering as you swatted at Steve’s arm.
“Yeah but your ice cream is in there too!”
Bucky sighed. “You make a fair point. Steve, buddy, give it back.”
Steve snorted. “You’ve been just as much a pain in my rear today! Why would I give it back to you either?”
You gasped dramatically, catching Bucky’s eye. “Are you gonna let him talk to you like that?”
“‘Course not!”
Without warning, Bucky lunged at his super soldier friend, tackling him to the floor. The bag of ice cream slipped from Steve’s grasp in his surprise, which you quickly snatched up before he could regain the wherewithal to take it back. With a triumphant shout, you tore the cover off your pint of ice cream and dug a spoon out of the drawer, swiping a scoop off the top layer and shoving it in your mouth with a contented sigh.
“Mm… finawwy,” you mumbled with your mouth full. Swallowing, you pointed your spoon accusatorially at Steve where he was currently trying to shove Bucky off himself. “You know, you’ve been a pain in my rear all day. You deserved this - it’s nice to see someone teaching you a lesson.”
“You two are pains in my rear every day!” Steve huffed as he grasped at Bucky’s shoulders and pushed.
“You did not just say that!” you gasped dramatically.
“Yeah, how dare you!” Bucky added, pinching at Steve’s side for emphasis.
“Bahah- Bucky, don’t start this,” Steve warned as he grasped his friend’s wrists to still his hands.
“Ooh! Wait!” You set your ice cream and spoon down on the counter beside you. “I want a go! Bucky, hold him there for a minute.”
“Whahat??” Steve laughed in surprise, a nervous edge to his voice.
“Sure!” Bucky offered, ignoring his friend’s protests as he maneuvered his wrists from Steve’s grasp and swiftly pinned his arms to the floor a few inches from his sides. “Quick, before he gets free!”
"On it!" You crouched down beside the super soldiers as Steve tugged against Bucky's grip. Without waiting to listen to Steve's protests any further, you began to scribble your fingertips into his exposed sides and ribs rapidly. You heard a thump behind you as Steve kicked his heel against the floor in protest, now pulling more frantically to escape his best friend's hold.
"HA-HEHEY! Cut it ohout!!"
"Nah. I deserve a little reward for tolerating you all day," you snickered, prodding at his belly. "Hey, Buck - where should I get him next?"
"Ohh, definitely under his arms," he suggested with a smirk. You pinched your way up his ribcage before slotting your hands into the narrow space between his biceps and his upper ribs. Bucky adjusted his grip to pry his friend's arms away from his sides as he attempted to clamp them down to limit the space under his arms.
"BUCKY!! Let me go-HO-HO this I-HI-INSTANT!" Steve demanded.
"No can do, buddy. I'm enjoying watching you get taken down a peg."
"DAHAMNIT BAHARNES!!"
"Oof, language Steve!" you teased, digging your fingers into the soft spot under his arms. "Where else is he ticklish?"
"The spot on his stomach right under his ribs - that'll really get him good." Steve nearly managed to slip his wrist from Bucky's grasp, but he quickly shifted his grip once again. "Better do it quick - I can't hold him much longer."
"Say no more." You pulled your hands free from under Steve's arms and danced your fingertips across the muscle-clad skin of his abdomen just under his ribcage as Bucky suggested. He threw his head back with a heavy stream of laughter at your touch, arching his back against the floor in desperation. It was only another moment before he finally succeeded in escaping Bucky's grasp.
Steve sat up swiftly, a playful but menacing gleam in his eye as his gaze immediately landed on you.
"Oh-ho, shit!" You scrambled to get to your feet to make your escape, groaning defeatedly when you felt a strong set of arms wrap around your waist and yank you backward.
“You really think I’d let you get away with that?” Steve asked rhetorically as he tightened his arms around your midsection to hold you in place.
“W-wait, Steve, we can- ahaha nohoho!” Your protests were cut short as Steve’s fingers kneaded into your sides. “Bucky! Hehehelp!!”
“Nuh-uh. You’re on your own, my friend.” The infuriatingly unhelpful super soldier waltzed over to the counter to retrieve his ice cream, planting himself atop the countertop and digging in while observing the two of you wrestling on the floor below.
“USELEHESS!!” you cried, attempting futilely to pry Steve’s hands off your sides.
“Nice try. You should know better than to mess with me by now,” Steve teased. He loosened his grip slightly to scratch at your belly. A rumbling laugh erupted in his chest when you screeched in protest and doubled over, suddenly much more frantic. “Oh, what’s this?”
“DAHAMNIT STE-HEE-HEVE!” Your grip on his hands was far too weak to even budge them now - not that you’d had any hope of succeeding before your muscles had weakened from his tickling. You leaned more heavily into him as you succumbed to laughter. He responded by lowering you down to lay on the floor beside him, freeing both hands to dart randomly around your sides and stomach. Weakly, you tapped your palm on the floor beside you in surrender. Steve threw in a few more exceedingly ticklish light scratches along your belly before relenting in his revenge.
“That’ll teach you,” he teased with a grin, offering you a hand to help you off the ground. You grasped your abdominal muscles that were now aching from laughter.
“I-hi… I’ll probably still mess with you,” you admitted breathlessly. Steve made a noise of protest in his throat and reached over to pinch your side, but you swatted his hand away. “Noho more! You’ll kill me!”
“So dramatic.” He rolled his eyes. “Here - here’s your ice cream. Hope it melted while you were tormenting me.”
“Harsh!” You snatched it from his hand and stuck out your tongue, then turned to look at Bucky. "And you - you were zero help, thank you."
"Hey! I held him down for you! I was very helpful, in my personal opinion."
The three of you went right back to your friendly bickering session, as though nothing had happened. Any outside might wonder how you could all be friends, but you wouldn't have it any other way.

Chapter Two: Tongue Twister
Ghost had only just left for his mission two hours ago and you had cleaned the house, which mind you had already been spotless, at least twice over. After your midnight confessions you had been fucked seven ways to Sunday, orgasm drunk and sated in a way only Ghost had ever made you. When you woke up however? The nerves really set in. You had never had to navigate a situation like this before and now you had to dive head first into shark infested waters.
The shark just happened to be a 6’10” mouth watering Austrian Special Operative.
You were putting the finishing touches on the guest room, lighting a lavender scented candle and listening to your mood playlist, shifting your hips in time with the beat and running your hands through your hair when you felt a light touch on the back of your shoulder.
Screaming you reached up behind you, grabbing at the hand and twisting it to the side just like Ghost had taught you, ripping out one of your earbuds when you realized who you were trying to grapple with. You looked up, and up and up at König, still gripping his hand which flexed lazily in yours. You were very used to men in masks but seeing him so suddenly when you felt you had time to prepare and had been caught off guard still in your comfy clothes - short shorts and a skimpy tank top - made your skin tingle.
“Ah, hi König. Sorry I guess time got away from me. I was just cleaning.” You went to gesture to his new room and realized you were still holding his hand. He hadn’t tried to extract it, just stared down at you, his head slightly tilted to the side as he listened to your stumble through your greeting, his eyes tracking the way your lips formed the sentence. You finally dropped your hold on him and gave him an apologetic smile, shrugging a shoulder.
“You don’t have to apologize, you didn’t answer the door and Ghost gave me a key. I wasn't sure if something happened to you.” His soft, accented voice floated down, blanketing you in warmth. You felt caught in the depth of his eyes, his mask doing nothing but amplifying their intensity. The seconds of silence spun out where the two of you just stared at each other, you didn’t realize you were swaying into his chest until you had to put up a palm to stop yourself from colliding with him.
“Oh. Oops. Go ahead and get settled and I think I’m going to change.” Your retreat wasn’t tactful but he had been in your space for five minutes and already you were drawn to him like a moth to a flame? Ghost’s words from the night before echoed in your mind “Take this time with König to figure out how you two might work together…”
Did he know what you had in mind? Was he walking into your home knowing you wanted something more than acquaintances and way beyond friends?
As you pulled your clothes off, your thoughts spiraling over how you could possibly go from hearing the most consecutive words out of König in two years to having him fuck you until you couldn’t walk, there was a knock at your bedroom door. Panicking with not a shred of clothing on, you grabbed the closest thing to you - an oversized shirt and threw it on.
You opened the door to König leaning against the frame casually. Your eyes scaled his body like you were dying to do yourself and when you met his eyes that’s when you realized they were burning.
“What’s up?” Your voice came out less collected and more of a squeak. König huffed out a soft laugh. “You left so quickly we didn’t really have a chance to talk about…” He paused, thoughtfully. “Us.” You sucked in a breath so sharp it could’ve been a shard of glass. “Us?” Your heart had to be audible up to a mile away. “Yes, liebling. Us.” You swallowed and his eyes smoldered where they watched the way your throat flexed. “Uh.” He didn’t give you a chance to fumble through whatever you wanted to say. He just bent and grabbed the back of your thighs, spreading your legs to wrap around his waist, walking you both into your bedroom. You threw your arms around his shoulders to keep yourself stable, shocked silent and so shamelessly wet you could feel your panties soaking through.
He reached the bed and sat down, situating you to straddle his lap. His big hands slid up and down the bare skin of your thighs, igniting a trail of fire. You squirmed under his palms, craving the way his calluses and rough fingers felt against your delicate nerves. “Hold still, we need to talk.” König punctuated his sentence with a quick slap to the globe of your ass. You sucked in a breath, tipping your head back and exposing your throat. You wanted to please him.
Down to your core you are a good girl and you need to show him so. One fortifying breath later you level your stare back at him, ready.
“Let’s talk.” If you could see his face you imagine he would be smirking if his eyes gave any indication. His thumbs started tracing circles on your skin and it took everything in you not to focus on the sensation and stay present. He began, his voice low, “Ghost and I had a conversation about what we want and I need you to know that you call all the shots, liebling.” You couldn’t help but bite your lip.
Your men giving you power. It was heady. It was sexy. It was everything.
“Okay, König. So how do we even..” You trailed off, looking down. Still too shy to say it outloud. Too scared to voice your desires to the other half of all your fantasies. A gentle hand under your chin, brought your eyes back to his.
“Do you want me to show you?”
In a whisper you confess, “Yes.”
König shifts his grip to pick you up and lay you down on your mattress, taking his time to run his hands the length of your body. You sigh in the luxury of his hands on you but already feeling the insanity of the feelings he evokes in you rising to the surface. When he runs his hands back up to the hem of your shirt, he catches it and pushes it up until it’s covering your eyes, leaving you utterly exposed to his gaze.
König’s deep hum and curses growled in German are the only indication he appreciates what he sees. With your shirt removing your sight, the rest of your senses are on high alert so when his breath coasts down the valley of your breasts your back bows off the bed. With a palm he presses you back down, placing his lips against the spot where your heart is battering against your chest. He doesn’t stop there, moving his attention to your peaked nipple, sucking the flesh into his mouth expertly. You don’t stop the shameless moan that spills from your throat, flexing your hand against the comforter, desperately needing something to hold onto. Sensing your thoughts König grabs your hand and brings it first to his neck and then up to his exposed jaw. He uses his other hand to palm your breast, pressing kisses down your sternum, belly and hips. Your fingertips graze his cheek and you revel in the feeling of that delicious stubble, only able to imagine how handsome he is under that shapeless mask.
The first swipe of König’s tongue against your pussy sent your mind reeling, the second pass where he flattened it and flicked your clit with the tip in a tease sent you into absolute overdrive. You couldn’t stop your hand from diving into his hair, so thick and lush that it shocked you - never having really thought about his hair before. Long enough to grab a handful of but short enough to flatten under his mask and helmet. As he sucked your clit and bit down in an explosion of pleasure you gripped his hair hard, eliciting a growl out of him.
“That’s right, liebling, show me what you like.” His voice against your drenched entrance felt like sin and salvation rolled into one. The moans and whimpers flowing past your lips wildly, his steady encouragement. You felt a thick finger enter you and your back arched at the electric feel of him stretching you. “König, right there, right there.” You were starting to babble as he added a second finger and stroked your g-spot, alternating biting your clit and circling it with his tongue.
Your orgasm gave you no warning, it came upon you in a lightning strike. You shoved both hands into König’s hair and cried out his name as he fucked your pussy with his fingers and sucked on your clit, overstimulating you through one of the most intense orgasms you had ever had in your life. The knife’s edge of pleasure and pain, the sweetest ecstasy. You started to beg him to stop, your body needing to give out, the pleasure overwhelming you completely.
“Please König, oh my God, please.”
His growl was hot against your flesh.
“God’s not here little girl. Only me.”
Note: AH hi. So in planning these König kind of decided what he wanted to do instead so…I’m stoked for the next chapter.

Holiday Pictures 2023! (part 1)
Happy Holidays, everyone! This year I decided to put together some pictures of various folks. They’re all in a style that makes them seem shorter than usual. I did my best to get them looking good, so apologies if there’s any errors. Admittedly I had only planned to make eight of these, but I had experienced a drive to keep making more – a phenomenon that’s been incredibly rare for me these days – so that number expanded to 16. They’re mostly featuring folks on Twitter that I know, like, and/or admire in some meaningful capacity, so I hope they all like what I’ve put together!
Tumblr media
For NS-Games, it’s the “Fix-It Cat” Collin LiBee. A very good friend who’s good with computer problems, and has been making some nice art to boot! He’s wearing his purple shirt today, and showing off a laptop with a familiar wallpaper design.
Tumblr media
For PetrarchEleven, it’s his protogen character Ramune! He seems to be having a good time, dancing and waving those glowing batons all around. He just needs to be careful! If he doesn’t watch where he goes he could accidentally fall to pieces!
Tumblr media
For Saturn’s Rings and Colonel Sandwich, it’s their respective characters Saturn and Terry, posing together for this one. Early on this year Saturn had asked for a picture of the two together, and this was the opportunity to do it. They are indeed a cute pair!
Tumblr media
For Treevis, it’s his character Lytzyv, dashing and looking cool. I think this is the fourth iteration of him that I had made, with little tweaks in design each time. I don’t see too many images of him these days, so hopefully I got all the details down.
Tumblr media
For VAdaPEGA, it’s Pantufa the Cat, as he appears in the “Extended Edition” of his game. I always thought he looked good in that attire. But with how small he is, I didn’t think it was enough, so Honker is here as well! It’s a two-fer! (Or maybe a “Toof-er”?)
Tumblr media
For Cooper the Husky, we have…Cooper the Husky! He’s got a cute art style and characters to match, so I tried to keep with some of the aesthetic. I particularly liked his “modern outfit,” so that’s what he’s wearing here.
Tumblr media
For Miles Fox, it's Charlotte, the main character of his work-in-progress, “SLAY-BELLS!” She seemed like an appropriate character to draw this time of year. I somehow ended up making her look like something from a Rankin-Bass special…which I guess is also appropriate.
Tumblr media
For HunterBahamut, this is Hunter. I had drawn Bahamut a few times before, but this is the first time I made this one – I opted for his black-and-white iteration.. I’m not sure if he’s running away from or towards danger, but he sure looks like he’s ready to confront it either way.
Quite a few so far! And we're only halfway through!

[Image: A big ‘ol sketchpage of funny little centaur-spider-beetle guys. From the waist down, they are mostly hexapedal, with thick carapaces and stocky limbs that are equal parts ungulate- and insect-like. Their upper bodies are more humanoid, with two arms and an upright posture. Their chests and shoulders are enclosed in large, collar-like shells, and their heads are covered by a carapace forming a hood. They have a vaguely avian profile, with large, blunted beaks and oversized mandibles inset into their jaws.
One of them, Rho, hangs out with area human and research assistant Reyes. Rho is bipedal instead of hexapedal, with segmented satyr-like legs and a short, stubby carapace ‘tail.’ Her left arm and leg are mechanical prosthetics, as well. She watches Reyes shred on a makeshift hoverboard that they probably ripped off of a hunk of Imperial junk. In another doodle, Rho rides an old Imperial motorbike through the wastes.
Her cohort Oeste is a battle-scarred old woman with kind of a puckish, sanguine energy. He is missing his left arm. He’s variously drawn hoisting a basket of fish over his shoulder and getting up on his back legs to reach some fruit at the top of a saguaro arm. One drawing shows him carrying a scrongled-looking Reyes on his back, while he comments ‘This seems demeaning, somehow.’
There are some drawings from his not-so-distant past, too. He is shown contending with a space marine-lookin’ soldier on the fields of war. One drawing depicts the fateful loss of his left arm to a brutal cleave of the soldier’s longsword. In another drawing, he returns the favor by firing a mortar point blank at the soldier’s shoulder.
Only later does he learn the soldier’s identity. The Chief immediately identifies Oeste by his arm, and vice versa. It plays out like a reenactment of the ‘same hat’ meme, with the two of them pointing at each other and saying ‘The same arm!’
When the impulse to run away and self-isolate gets the better of Chief, Reyes insists ‘You should at least apologize.’ The Chief looks like she would rather die.
When she does finally sit down on neutral ground with Oeste, getting the apology out is like pulling teeth. She digs her sweaty palms into her knees and says ‘There is no way to rectify this but. I’m sorry. forcuttingoffyourarm’
To his credit, Oeste is very forgiving, if blasé. He says, ‘Oh, it’s no trouble! I think we both learned our lesson. It is very bad to flock like that! What a terrible delusion we have all suffered!’
The Chief strains. She says ‘There isn’t… Some kind of human hivemind… I did that.’
Oeste looks at her blankly and says ‘I fail to understand how that correlates with anything I have said.’
All at once, it finally clicks for the Chief. Geometry and trigonometry overlays converge with sentence fragments about imperialism and settler-colonialism to arrive at the final conclusion, captioned ‘Military industrial complexes is the same’]
◆◆◆
Thinking about my old buddies Oeste and Metahei Rho and [these] [guys] again. There was a time when they were called the Suhti, but  ‘Suhti’ feels exactly like something I would conlang in 2013, so I’m also thinking of renaming them. Nixthi? Nixtli? Nithi? Who knows. Anyway, it was only a matter of time before they found a home bullying the Empire.
Noodling on this sketch page made me realize I was sitting on more ideas than I thought I was. These guys have been living in the back of my brain for all of 9 years, so I guess that’s typical. There’s like 9342345245 separate threads that are coming together in a way that’s hard to untangle, so I’m just going to start writing and hope for the best.
Oeste is the chipper-looking hexapod who’s missing an arm. He’s a former agent of the ‘old guard,’ who gave up the gun and dishonorably discharged himself. He’s considered a kooky old lady with an air of death around him, but is ultimately well-meaning and tolerated. Put a pin in that thought.
Rho is the biped and Oeste’s understudy / one of few people who really trusts him. She and Reyes have some history, where the ashrunners in Reyes’ family regularly met with the wasteland scavengers in Rho and Oeste and co. They’re like family friends. Put a pin in that thought, too.
Trying to describe the, I guess, thesis of the Nithi is hard. I am very leery of the way fantasy+sci fi interacts with the concept of race and especially nonhuman race. If it lingers on biology for too long then I get kind of freaked out, so it’s hard to imagine in that space, even though I love to think about nonhuman cognition + the interior worlds of plants, animals, fungi, etc. But I’m trying! God Do I Try.
Lately I’m drawn to solitary animals who seem to get a genuine kick out of the company of other animals, e.g. octopus interactions with humans. I think that’s so fun to extrapolate on. Allergic to the company of your own species, but hanging out with the funnie primate? Oh Yeah. That’s Good. Put a pin in that thought x3.
One of my bigger bones to pick with 40k is that you really don’t need to narratively justify the dumb shit the Imperium does with some kind of outside existential threat, whether that be Bugs of Unusual Size, or aliens, or Actual Demons. Giving the Imperium a “reason” to exist just feels dishonest about how empires come to be and how they perpetuate themselves. On the flip side, this is a great lesson in how empires construct narratives about themselves. Reading 80% of the 40k lore as wartime propaganda about the ‘other,’ intended to justify this atrocity or that, is what keeps me sane in the trenches of the wiki.
I also just think it’s more fun if the ‘existential threat’ is a fabrication of the unceasing machine of Propaganda ™ in the face of an empire’s own terminal* existence. Legitimate only in that, strictly speaking, it could pose an existential threat to the empire, but an existential threat to an empire =/= an existential threat to its citizens or even humanity, even though a very concerted effort has been made to conflate those. Put a pin in that thought x4.
*Did yuo know? the average empire lasts about ~250 years, which raises some funny historical revisionist headcanons for 40k, but we can’t get into it. gotta sell figs war somehow.
ANYWAY. Speaking of the unceasing machine of Imperial Propaganda, I am always looking to bully the Empire in fun new ways. I think it would be very funny for the Empire to encounter a people who are, like, categorically asocial around their conspecifics and only societal with other sentient species, because Bad Things Have Happened whenever they organize among themselves at scale. And the Empire misunderstands this to mean that they assimilate into some kind of violent hivemind when they gather en masse, but the actual reason they refuse to associate societally is because they’re living out the dying throes of their own collapsed empire. When the Archive describes the Nithi as a monolith ‘so monstrous, a force so bloody and singular of purpose that humanity shivers at the touch,’ that’s just them taking a look in the mirror and not liking what they see. The shots are coming from inside the house.
Of course, it’s great to have some kind of alien ‘other’ for the Empire to justify its existence and lionize its endeavors abroad. Every effort has been made to drive a wedge between the citizens of the Empire and Nithi at large. Probably because if they realized they had more in common with each other than the Powers That Be, as two peoples carrying the baggage of two shitty empires, they would unionize. And That Would Be Baaaaad.
… Which brings me back to Oeste. He is an ex-soldier who fled to wasteland Earth to dodge the high price of desertion, i.e. execution. He had great timing, given that the collapse of whatever dominion was lording itself over the Nithi came right on his heels.
He carries the ‘old troubles’, or wartime knowledge, that most people, Nithi or no, are wary of. But as the Empire trains its eye on Earth, this raises some very real and difficult questions about the right of sovereign Earth to defend itself, and how. Among Earth’s Nithi in particular, this is an existential question of coming together and doing a rare and terrible thing for some sort of greater good. There is enough continuity between ‘old guard’ veterans like Oeste and armed guerilla resistance in the Empire’s frontier that the Empire perceives no meaningful difference; opposition is the same, whether it comes from another empire or a scrappy resistance force. The Archive is still operating on the hivemind hypothesis, so… not likely that they’re going to grasp the intense political landscape of Nithi mutual-defense accords any time soon.
It sucks. But the silver lining is that they get to heckle Imperials with ooky-spooky hivemind jokes. And fool them into thinking they’re acting of much greater numbers and coordination when they are… absolutely not!
Anyway, Oeste came to Earth to ‘get away from all that’ and keep an eye on the youth, e.g. Rho. He hasn’t been asked about his war wounds, and he’s perfectly content not offering his opinion about them unsolicited. (At least, not when it isn’t funny.) Probably there will come a day when that will change, but he hopes not.
Of course, these things have a way of coming back to haunt a guy. Oeste doesn’t talk about his arm for the same reason that the Chief doesn’t talk about hers, or most of her past deployments. Military trauma that you can’t even pretend to be proud of. They met once on the fields of war and left a, errr, marked impression on each other. Who struck first? … That’s between the Chief and Oeste.
Seeing each other in ~peacetime causes a little bit of a situation, but they’re kindred spirits. Oeste has a lot to impart to the Chief as someone who is much further along the whole ‘deprogramming and reintegrating into normal society’ process, and who is perhaps more familiar with what Imperial programming looks like than others. Besides, someone really has to tell the Chief that the Archive might have been wrong about a few things. A lot of things.
Tumblr media
Reyes and Rho are just happy to see the old geezer (and Irene, lbr) make a friend.
Other napkin scraps:
Dunno if the hexapod / biped variants are morphs, or lifecycle phases, or if Rho is just a special case.
Hexapod Nithi have two major gaits—they can walk in an ‘alternating tripod’ gait like an ant or a bee, or in an ungulate-like fashion with an extra set of forelimbs taped on (with all relevant gaits like walking, trotting, cantering, galloping, etc.) The joints connecting to the femur and tibia of the hindmost legs are very flexible, and can shift to accommodate the tripod gait (by facing backwards) or ungulate gait (by facing forwards.)
It is extremely bad taste to get on someone’s back like a horse why would you do that. (Oeste has no shame though.)
Probably both an exoskeleton and endoskeleton going on in here, so full-body armor is redundant except where soft tissue is exposed (upper arms, joints, etc.) Clothing and other adornments happen at leisure. Carapace carving, painting, and piercing is especially popular. Rho gets to wear pants because she physically can and because she thinks they’re fun.
Don’t ask me if they still have stingers or can spin silk or not. I don’t know. I don’t know. it would be very funny to hock a sillystring loogie, though.
After years of research, the Archive has documented many aspects of Nithi biology that make them such confounding and lethal enemies, including:
Their bulletproof carapaces (true.)
Their venomous bite (false.)
Their ability to regrow limbs (false.)
The fact that they pop out of the propagule fully formed and able to defend themselves (false.)
Their ability to communicate in subaural vibrations (true, but this is only a small component of several larger somatic language families.)
Their keen thermoreceptors (sort of true, they are coarser and more imprecise than the Archive thinks.)
Their ability to smell fear (false.)
Their inability to feel pain, remorse, or any emotion at all in a way that matters (buddy what do you think.)
The Archive is very good at science and would never lie to you.

Heyyyyyy I’m here to follow up that answer. I just tell the truth, you can judge it in the way you like.;) Miles once said in an interview that coup de grace is a breakup album, and that breakup is the hardest one 100% for sure. He even cried during the interview. He mentioned wrong side of life is def one of his most favourite one cause it’s the most intense and emotional one, and same for killing the joke. You can find the interview here:
https://youtu.be/01hB4iLgiOE
Meanwhile, he once dedicated wrong side of life to his BrOtHEr, when Alex was there:
https://www.instagram.com/p/CId2nVHn5Je/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
As for killing the joke, there’s an specific line implying Alex and Alex only explicitly. It is kinda private so I couldn’t point it out here. But I can promise, this tune is definitely for Alex. (Hint: check the lyric on Spotify) So, why their relationship was straining? You might get the answer.:(
But…… bonus here! I met Miles four times this year during his tour. Before the first time I met him, I was worrying that they ain’t that close like before and it would be impolite to mention Alex before him. So I didn’t bring up the topic. I asked him to sign for my friend and unfortunately I forgot her name(I’m not a native speaker). I took out my phone, wanna check her name on insta, and when I unlocked my phone, Miles saw my wallpaper and he looked surprised and excited instantly, “oh that’s so cute I love it!” And he took the cutest selfie with me:))))))
Tumblr media
And my wallpaper was, Alex kissing him.
Tumblr media
I was like, “oh it’s drawn by my friend, I have sent you before, anyway I will send it to you again:)” And I did, later that night he saw my story.:) I suppose he rarely sees a story.
Tumblr media
Do you think that’s the end of the story? Nah! Later after Manchester gig, I literally gave him a bag of presents, all Milex (ok maybe one or two fanarts of him only, but mostly Milex). And he post two stories of it.;) I suppose it’s safe to say he loves it and of course fine (or again in relationship) with Alex innit?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apologize for the possible sh*t compose style I don't know why Ican't upload pic on my phone so I use a laptop and I am not sure what it will be.:(
And this for the anon 😉

In the pomeranian au (Miles turns into a dog when stressed and only turns back when adequately cuddled and loved. He spent most of his life after his father’s death as a dog for reasons i probably don’t need to explain) Franziska and her little dog (Airbud lawyer style) take on Mia and Diego. It goes as badly as expected.
Lana becomes Franziska’s main detective, in part because all the other detectives are Terrified of her and in part because to Lana Franziska is a sweet little girl. She totally hasn’t projected her big sister onto Lana and snuggled up to her. No. It is purely professional. The fact she tries to take every single case Mia Fey defends is Also purely professional- she does Not have a crush- STOP GIVING ME THAT SIDE EYE MILES EDGEWORTH.
Whenever Papa is out of the country (fairly frequent) she has a habit of going home with Lana. Ema is Free little sister which she always adores. Ema always wanted a dog and Franziska shows her case files when Lana’s not looking so it’s perfect for her. Miles now has Two little girls who constantly insist on dressing him up which is annoying but Ema takes him for walks to the dog park (ITS FULL OF DOGS. ITS THE BEST PLACE ON EARTH) and Lana sneaks him bacon at breakfast so he’s not objecting.
Then one night Lana gets called in to work late. She apologizes to the girls and tells them to go straight to bed. Miles keep an eye on them for me. Rubs between his ears. Good boy. They promise they will.
Five minutes after she’s gone theyve got the popcorn made and the R rated Serial killer movie up on the TV. Miles huffs at them but obviously they’re not swayed. He settles for sitting between them and dosing.
Right up until someone starts fumbling with the front door.
They’ve got their weapons. They’re hiding behind the entryway pillar. Shaking. It can’t be Lana - she couldn’t have made it back yet even if work took 5 minutes. Miles, a tiny grey Pomeranian walks to the door and starts barking. A shrill not very scary at all sound. The door starts to open all the same and doom is upon them. Ema’s trembling hands hold Franziska’s shaking arms when-
A man in all his hieght and glory throws his shoulder against the door, slamming it closed. “What part of Occupied does your feeble mind fail to comprehend?” He- Miles Edgeworth - asks.
There is a moment of silence. A beat. Ema blinks. Once. Twice. The dog is gone and the man is-
“WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?! WHAT DID YOU DO TO EMA?” A familiar attorney’s voice rages. “If you hurt her-”
He opens the door. Blinks down at her. “Ms. Fey?” Her sleeves are drawn up. Ready to punch through the door. “Mia?” Ema calls. “Mia Fey” Franziska questions blinking at the woman in shock.
Mia explains Lana asked her to come over and check on them tonight. She side eyes Edgeworth the entire time. He makes no eye contact. Lana said they’d be asleep so she should just go in. “They should be. They decided to watch a movie instead.” Edgeworth provides. Franziska smacks him.
It is the first time anyone has seen ‘Edgeworth’ in years. Mia sits in her office and silently wishes she could talk to Diego about this. Feenie offers her some coffee. She looks like she’s got a big issue on her mind. She tells him not to worry about it.
Ema has a crush on the family ‘dog’ now. Lana is staring across the table at him trying to work out what happened. How to fix it. Edgeworth just keeps his head down and does the paperwork. At least now he can do it in the kitchen instead of Franziska’s room while she sleeps.

Note
can u do a headcanon for emmett, jasper, alice, and rosalie if they had a crush like how’d they act
Oh my gosh this is so cute! This is going to depend on the situation but I will try my best
Emmett
Emmett is the one out of everyone that regardless of what you human, vampire, fairy, whatever. He is going to do his best to get to know you
He is our himbo king but he isn’t dumb enough to know that with you being human not being a vampire you and him can’t really be a thing
He would probably ask Jasper how you feel so he isn’t coming off as a jerk
Unfortunately unless you figure out what he is and say you wish you could also be like him he isn’t going to do much but try and be friends with you
Now if you’re a vampire…he’s going all out
Flowers for you every day and he will remember your favorite one
When he asks to go out on a date with you he’s going to figure out the most romantic way to ask you like the date of your dreams
A total gentleman the whole time. Going to enjoy the human charade this once and then if you want to run off and enjoy a human juice pouch he will gladly follow
Rosalie
Unlike her siblings she’s not doing anything
ESPECIALLY if you’re human she’s on team move because she’s going t look like she hates you everytime she is nearby
Which she convinces herself she does because she has to justify her emotions somehow
However for funsies we will say you run into some trouble and a vampire bites you and is about to unalive you. The Cullens hear you scream and rush to help you before it’s too late
They make it in time to save your from dying but not from turning. Rose is apologizing from the start for what you have to go through
You aren’t really realizing the big deal, until she takes you hunting
She warns you to stay with her oh sorry her family you would have to do the vegetarian diet
You kinda go off on your own for awhile and Rosalie is pissedddd but to be fair you thought she hated you for just existing
Surprise she decides to check in and see how you’re doing, you two almost kill eachother because she doesn’t know how to deal with her feelings and starts being a bit condescending and you ask her what the hell her problem is
Your newborn strength and the fact your drinking actual blood helps you pin her but her years of experience help her get on top of you. Before either of you knows what’s happening she presses her lips against yours
She pulls herself back and runs off leaving you in the ground dazed and stunned you go back to the cullens to try and figure out what the hell happened and she stops you before you make it with it a mile of their house. Grabbing you by the collar and pulling you in again.
After this you two finally decide to actually talk to eachother and figure out where to go from there
Also if you’re already a vampire the story stays the same except you probably visit Carlisle and she makes a comment there instead
Jasper
If youre human again hes staying away from you.
If he hurt you in any capacity he would go full edward and wish he could end eternity
I would say hes drawn initially by your aura, he sees and feels how genuinely kind you are
He is absofuckinglutely using his gift to test out if you feel any kind of interest in him at all and if he figures out youre curious about him hes pulling the southern charm
Escorting you everywhere by the arm
Asking all about your life and your experiences
Super Super shy to tell you anything about his past because it is EMBARRASING
You get alot of flowers ALOT of flowers and this before the first date
hes going to properly impress you before he even thinks of asking you out... is what hes saying to himself because hes afraid you are just being nice and he cant differentiate what hes feeling versus what your feelings
Will probably just keep being extra loving to you until you tell him you are interested
but he is literally screaming inside to tell you he is just waiting on you
Alice
Similar to Emmett she is going to talk to you one way or another.
HOWEVER, if she cant see you no matter how interesting she finds you she will dip
Shes never not had her gift (this is pre bella) and it would stress her out and post Bella she doesnt want any more blind spots
She wants to see the best way to approach you and will just shockingly be super interested in everything you are or conveniently wherever you are
Edward has ruined her
You act kind of weirded out, which you should be, shes basically stalking you and acting surprised you arent happy about it
Your reactions even in her visions are miscontrued and when she sees youre unhappy she freaks out
She avoids you for awhile and while you thought she was cute before she started following you everywhere you are relieved she isnt following you everywhere
She decides to start listening to her other siblings much to edwards dismay
She tries to approach you one more time and ask what she did wrong and you really are going to have to tell her why she cant just show up in front of people
Alice does not like not getting her way and will probably ask if she can have another chance and what she can do to redeem herself
Will try really really hard to win you over the right way and is even more taken by the way you take charge instead of blindly following whatever she says

Temptation
I had a really amazing day that had a really shitty ending. So here's some Tedromeda, because they make everything better.
Read on AO3
---
The first time she joins them for drinks Ted is almost convinced that his Nan was right, that the devil is real.
And that Andromeda Black has been sent to lead him into temptation.
It’s a standing St Mungo’s tradition that anyone free on a Thursday night swaps their robes for some muggle garb and heads to the pub around the corner for a pint. They’re always an odd-looking bunch, no one can convince Charlton Weasley that he shouldn’t be wearing a dress, but the owner at The White Lion is a Muggleborn witch who inherited the place from her parents and the staff are used to the eccentric group.
Ted goes whenever he isn’t on a late shift, he enjoys being able to relax with his colleagues, drinking the same beer he would be drinking with the lads, it’s one of the few times when he feels like his two worlds can coexist.
Andromeda’s never been to drinks before, waving them off with apologies that she had plans. He’d asked Nora about it once, and an uncharacteristically dark look had crossed her face.
‘Her family has a lot of rules.’ She’d said, and refused to expand further.
He has a bit of an idea about those rules and is fairly certain that rule number one was not to associate with people like him.
Seven months into his last year of healer training sees Ted sitting at the bar to order his second pint, chatting with David Fleming about the bloke he’s been seeing when a wolf whistle cuts across the pub and the group of healers start cheering.
Turning to see what’s caused the commotion, Ted finds Nora, proudly leading a blushing Andromeda Black in a very short skirt.
Christ.
His brain goes blank, all other thoughts disappearing. He blinks hard twice and turns back to David, who looks far too amused. ‘Lose your train of thought there, mate?’ He asks with a grin.
Ted opens his mouth to reply but before he can speak Nora appears and starts talking a mile a minute.
‘David! I’ve been thinking about that patient you have with the recurring flesh-eating wound…’
Andromeda isn’t far behind her, and she ends up standing close to Ted to avoid being bumped into by people wanting a drink. Her hair has been pulled into a ponytail that falls halfway down her back and he feels hypnotised by the way it swings when she moves. She’s looking around the room, taking in the scene before her which gives him time to regain control of his tongue.
‘Looking good, Black.’ He says quietly, leaning towards her. He tells himself it’s so he doesn’t interrupt the conversation Nora and David are having.
He’s gotten pretty good at lying to himself where Andromeda Black is concerned.
Her cheeks are tinged pink when she looks up at him with a pleased smile. ‘Really? I’ve never worn anything like this before.’ She says, the uncertainty clear on her face.
He’s not sure if she means the skirt or muggle clothes in general.
‘It suits you.’ He tells her, relishing in the bright smile that crosses her face.
She slips onto the bar stool next to him, elegantly crossing her legs and for a moment he watches the smooth skin of her thigh as her skirt rides up even higher. His fingers itch with the urge to feel her soft skin, but he clenches them at his side and manages to drag his eyes away to order another pint for himself and wine for Andromeda.
They chat about plans for her fellowship experiment, and his young patient with Fwooper’s Cough. If she notices the way his eyes keep being drawn back to her legs, she doesn’t say anything, and he successfully resists the temptation to run his hands over her skin to find out if it really is as smooth as it looks.
It’s not long before she’s giving some excuse about needing an early night that he doesn’t quite believe and slipping off the bar stool. He doesn’t watch her go, he has enough self-control for that. He counts to thirty in his head, sure that will give her enough time to be out the door before he excuses himself for some air, ignoring Nora and David’s knowing grins and letting himself turn around.
But she’s still there, on the other side of the room, watching him with an unreadable expression that makes his heart beat a little bit faster. They hold each other's gaze until she finally turns and steps out into the night.
In the Beer Garden, Ted leans against the cool brick wall, trying to rid himself of the images running through his mind. Their lives couldn’t be more different, he tells himself, nothing will ever happen between them.
But Christ, he wants it to.
He groans, roughly running a hand over his face.
He really is going to Hell.

Headcannon - Steve's New Obsession
Warnings: Smut, oral sex (male receiving) NSFW, 18+
Word Count: 3,672
Complete Works: Masterlist
Note: I wrote this quickly and it got away from me on the word count. But I enjoyed it, so here you go!
Tumblr media
Steve Rogers is obsessed with your mouth.
He was an ass man, which was still true, and the sight of your butt in leggings will never fail to rouse his desire.
Being attracted to the soft curves of a woman was a long standing feeling for him. He’d known this even before puberty. Young Steve Rogers had thought there was nothing more beautiful than a woman in a flared dress with a fitted bodice. The shape, the delicate lines of a female body... It was the first art form he’d ever appreciated.
Then his hormones had turned on and he’d found himself drawn to the shape of a nice, round posterior. To him, there was nothing more attractive.
But your mouth… that was a kink he had to wait thirty some years to discover.
The Beginning:
Steve waited for the right girl. He’d found Peggy and been ripped away from her. His dalliance with Sharon was a point of embarrassment for him. Hindsight was perfect and he could see how he’d mistaken his struggles about Peggy dying with real feelings. At the time, he lacked the insight to understand his actions.
When he returned from putting back the stones, he finally clocked the error in his judgment. Unfortunately, Sharon was nowhere to be found. He’d wanted to apologize and set things right for her, as he’d done with Bucky. But she was off the grid and it looked as if she was going to stay that way.
He passed the Shield to Sam after Tony’s death. Being Captain America and serving his country had been an honor. But it was time for new heroes. The world needed the symbol that shield stood for, but in a new era, it was time for a new Captain.
He liked retirement. He liked serving as an advisor to the New Avengers initiative, funded by Pepper Potts. He liked spending time with Morgan Stark and had become a favored babysitter for the young girl. He enjoyed hanging around with Pepper as well, discovering a close friendship with the woman. She’d once been a distant figure to him, known only by her roles as Tony’s girlfriend and the CEO of Stark Tech. He visited Sam in Louisiana and helped Bucky adjust to the new era. He’d even visited the moon with Thor and the Guardians. But something was missing from his life.
He couldn’t figure out how to date in the modern era. Apps were strange. He hated texting even though he knew how. It was too hard when you weren’t face to face. He wanted to sit down across from a human being and get to know them, not watch for bubbles and hope he wasn’t answering too fast or too slow.
You tripped on your run in Central Park and rolled your ankle right in front of him.
Steve Rogers was still a hero, uniform or not. He’d helped you to your car, then driven you to the Urgent Care. Which was how he learned you were a surgical nurse and a distance runner.
He shyly asked if you’d like to run together sometime. By a miracle, he managed not to stammer and looked you in the eye when he spoke.
How was it that he could disagree with generals and politicians without batting an eyelash, then have heart palpitations in front of a pretty girl? It was embarrassing. He’d once told the Secretary of State to shove his peace accords and walked into the Avengers Compound as a war criminal to tell the same man he couldn’t stand in the way of Steve protecting his country and the world. He’d faced Thanos with less fear.
Of course, you’d said yes. Who wouldn’t say yes to a man who’d spent his Saturday morning with a stranger at the urgent care, when he didn’t have to? Steve was clueless, and a bit pink cheeked, in the face of your appreciation. Since it was your non-dominant foot injured, you were okay to drive him home. He’d accepted just to spend more time with you, though he easily could have run the two miles faster than you could drive it in traffic.
When you arrive at his apartment complex, he’s finally worked up the nerve to ask you for a coffee date. Because he realized that asking to run together might have been too friendship based. And it will take weeks for your ankle to heal.
Three dates later, Steve knows he’s falling in love. The feeling is slow and easy, like wading into a hot tub after a workout. He feels relaxed by your presence and soothed by your gracious nature. You’re slow to anger and considerate of others.
He likes feeling your gaze on his face, comforted by the lack of pretenses between the two of you. The getting to know you phase of your relationship is going very well.
It continues to go well for three months. Steve begins to hold your hand on the street, hold you as you watch movies in his apartment late at night, and then, he kisses you.
What Happened Next:
This begins his obsession with your mouth. Your lips are so soft. He adores how they mold against his, supple and pliant. The way you whimper a little when he nibbles on the full curve of your lower lip shoots straight to his groin and makes him feel ten feet tall.
He keeps things to simple kisses for weeks, even though he wants to move faster. There’s a push and pull occurring inside of him. 1940’s Steve wants to be a gentleman. The man who became a nomad when his government tried to control him wants to devour you in a private cabin in the middle of the woods. His nomad side wants to take you upstate, to a secluded spot, where you’d be able to scream for him at the top of your lungs.
He wanted to learn every line and curve of your body and each sweet spot. Every single spot. He means that, truly means it. He’d explore you from scalp to toe and back again, until he’d memorized your body. If women as a species were a work of art - he still considers them as such - you were a masterpiece. A renaissance goddess rising from the sea, the type of beauty whose face would launch a thousand ships… he’s so in love it isn’t even funny.
It’s a bit scary to feel so much. He’d never reached this phase with Peggy, though he thinks if life had worked out differently, he would have. But he doesn’t dwell on that anymore because he’s finally focused on what’s ahead. Every future he can think of is colored with your presence.
When you meet his friends and they love you too, he slips from love into full commitment. He’s going to marry you once he’s spent enough time working you around to the idea. There’s no one else for him and he’ll never look at another woman how he looks at you.
For Steve Rogers, he marries you right in that moment, in the middle of a barbecue at Pepper’s home in upstate New York. It’s not the most romantic as the mosquitoes are eating everyone alive, the afternoon sun is pushing the humidity from punishing to disaster levels. Your hair is tied into a knot on top of your head from swimming with the kids and your legs are streaked with mud from the beach. But that’s the moment you become the sole owner of the heart of Steven Grant Rodgers.
After the barbecue, the lust he’s been in control of slips and his hands are no longer on the reins. Knowing this, he keeps a little distance between the two of you. He’s not obvious about it - he does slide his arm around you when you start shivering during the bonfire to offer you his body heat. But he doesn’t hug you when you approach him throughout the afternoon, and it’s unexpected. You’re bothered by the distance and worried about him. He had a look about him that you didn’t recognize. You wanted to get a private minute to ask how he was feeling, if something was wrong. He looked a bit anxious, very tense by the look of his shoulders, and he kept glancing your way. A hungry look flashed through his eyes a couple of times when you met his gaze. But he moved away if you went towards him, going to the beach with Sam to participate in a water fight. The new Captain and the children were losing to Bucky and Clint.
On the ride home, Steve is quiet and pensive. He takes your hand on the highway when traffic thins out enough for him to set the cruise control. But he doesn’t open up. You’re patient with him, because you can see the strain around his eyes. And you catch something else that makes you hesitate - an undercurrent of emotion vibrating in the confines of your car as Steve lets go of your hand when traffic gets heavier outside of the city.
Something is coming. He has something brewing up inside of him and you’re confident that he’s waiting for the right time to open up. And you’re not afraid or worried. Because this is Steve Rogers, the sweet, gentle, and loving man who you’d come to trust with your whole heart. Whatever it is that he has to say, you want to hear it. Moments when Steve revealed his heart to you were precious. There was so much to the man under the layers of honor, duty, and dedication to ideals, you see the man. And you love him.
You love the artist. You love the fighter, that indomitable spirit held inside a man with a heart of gold. You love his softness and the rough parts of his soul. And you see the bad parts of him, too. His stubborn refusal to see a bigger picture, the subtle arrogance he occasionally shows about his abilities and determinations. You’ve figured out his flaws and been pleased to find he’s not the paragon he’d been propagandized into by the wartime press. He’s a human, with a heart and a soul that feels familiar to yours. You love all of him and when you’re ready, you’re going to tell him.
Steve asks to come up to your apartment. He’d left his motorcycle parked in front of your building this morning, so you think he’s coming up to get his helmet.
You’ve been dating seven months and the most he’s done to you was grabbing your ass during a heated make out session. It’s different for you, taking things slow. But in the past you’d screwed up relationships by pushing for too much too fast. You’ve allowed this one to grow and you’re understanding of Steve’s reasons for holding off on the next steps.
He’s not a man to engage in sex lightly. He knows what he wants and it isn’t a quick romp in the sack. He wants to feel loved before he’s vulnerable like that. You see that side of him too, the shyness, mixed with a sprinkling of trust issues brought on by a life of challenge and battle. He needs time and he needs to feel safe before he goes any further with your physical relationship. Because you understand, because you love him so much, you’re happy to wait as long as it takes.
“Honey, I have to tell you something,” Steve licks his lips, standing in your kitchen with his back against the counter. His hands are on your hips and he’s looking at you but his eyes are unfocused. There’s a lot going on inside his head right now and it’s written all over his face. You reach up to cup his face, smoothing your thumbs over the lines bracketing his mouth, trying to make them go away.
“What is it?” You ask him softly, wanting to soothe his worry, help him ease whatever struggle he’s going through.
“I love you.”
What Happens Afterwards:
Your heart skips a beat and your mind ceases to function at those words. It clicks off like he’d hit a switch. You feel fuzzy, removed from yourself as a joy more intense than anything you’ve ever felt sweeps through you. This is it, you’ve found the man you’d hoped for and dreamed of and he was real and he loved you. He’d said he loved you. Steve Rogers loved you. You were… loved. By the single person whose romantic affections mattered to your heart.
You unfroze after a beat as Steve waited, nerves fluttering in his belly, for a reply.
First you kissed him. Words weren’t enough, you had to show him. The way you kissed him was wild with passion, intense with all the love you could pour into it, and tinged with hot, sexual need.
It had been a full year of celibacy for you and being around the delicious temptation that was Steve Rogers’ flesh was enough to drive a woman mad. Love and lust were inside of you and you were a product of your generation. Love meant physical affection, and offering your body, not just emotion.
Steve moaned as your tongue pushed into his mouth. His hands tightened around your hips and he drew you tight. He tilted his head down, sinking into the kiss. You’d initiated the contact but he was suddenly the one in control.
His heavy erection pressed into your belly, a silent need you longed to answer.
You understood his boundaries but couldn’t find it in yourself to step away. Your hands clenched on his shoulders, grasping his tee shirt and pressing as close as you could. All you wanted in that moment was to feel him on you, against you, inside of you… you wanted him so bad.
Steve’s hands slid under your shirt, rubbing his palms against your lower back. The heat, the slightly rough texture of his callouses, it was an innocent enough gesture but the reaction that surged through your blood was anything other than innocent. You whimpered against his lips and linked your hands around his neck, holding him to you.
“Please,” you moaned. You weren’t sure what you meant, your mind was too fuzzy with lust.
“I’ve got you,” Steve purred, kissing his way up to your ear, licking the shell, and capturing the lobe in his teeth to tug on it lightly.
You rolled your body against his as he sucked your pulse point, laved his tongue over it and bit down gently. “Ooohhh…”
“That’s my girl,” Steve encouraged, pressing kisses into your neck. He pushed up your top, settling his hands around your waist, spreading them open and stroking. The touch, it was just so… delicious. You moaned again and Steve hissed, rutting his hips into your belly.
He stilled himself immediately, pulling back and looking down at you, moving his hands to your hips again. He licked his lips, his eyes gleaming in the low light of the kitchen.
“I want you. I’ve been waiting to figure out if this is it for me, to discover how I feel about you and I’m through waiting. If you’re ready. I mean, if you want to. I don’t want to pressure you and if this isn’t the right time-”
You cut him off with a kiss, shoving your tongue into his heat, tasting him and clutching his body. When he rocked his hips against you, you pushed back, grinding down.
Steve gasped and moaned. “Fuck, doll. Give me a second, I need to calm down.”
You eased up a bit, but held him, rising on your toes to kiss his cheek. You let your lips wander along his jaw and neck the same way he’d just done to you. Steve grunted. “This isn’t helping me calm down,” he said, his voice rough and low.
You looked up at him, flattening your palms on his chest. “Steve, baby… I don’t want you to calm down. I’d much prefer it if you were all riled up.”
Your libido had shot into overdrive when his hands had wandered over your skin and ventured to places you’d never felt his touch before. You wanted him, and if necessary you’d let him take you right here on the kitchen floor.
Your hands wander over his chest, taking in the feeling of his muscles through the thin fabric, then scramble lower to find the hem. His shirt is off and then your mouth is on his skin.
Your lips are so soft. Your tongue is teasing as you lick his nipple. Steve’s head falls back and he moans. Then you’re grasping his belt, tugging at the clasp. He feels the heat surge in his groin at the back of your fingers in his waistband.
“You need to catch up,” he gasps, trying to collect his wits enough to speak. When he reaches out to undress you, you bat his hands away with a smirk.
“I get to go first.” His belt is off and his shorts and boxers hit the floor. When your hand closes around him, he bucks helplessly into your hand. “Ah, damn it… baby, I’m not going to last.”
“So don’t.” You purr and sink to your knees, brushing your lips up along the underside of his cock as it’s standing straight up against his abdomen. You rub your tongue over his balls, pleased to find him well groomed with just a tidy patch of hair.
When you close your lips over the head and suck, he whimpers. The sound goes straight to your core and you feel a rush of wetness. Steve thrusts into your mouth and you bob your head taking all of him that you can, hollowing your cheeks. Each gasp and moan makes you hotter. You set a rhythm and find a grip on his base, twisting your hands and stroking the half that doesn’t fit into your mouth.
“Doll…oh, fuck, please. Just like that, honey. So freaking good. Please don’t stop.”
Steve is praising and begging, his voice rough and pained with need. The sound of him pleading with you drives your own need higher and you’re desperate to satisfy him. You want his mind to turn to mush and his knees to shake. With that in mind, you run your nails down his thighs, scratching lightly.
He jerks, surging up into your mouth and you respond by turning your head slightly, dropping your jaw and taking him as deep as you can. Steve gasps. It’s too deep and you choke, trying to breathe through your nose and hold him there. He realizes your discomfort and starts to pull back but you grab his hips and take a breath through your nose. You sink down again, taking him into your throat. You can’t help the gagging and he’s so big it really isn’t comfortable, but his groans are exactly what you want to hear.
Steve is beyond himself, lost in your mouth. He wants to hold back but when you’re pulling him in like this, he just can’t. He feels his balls drawing up and knows he’s close.
“I’m gonna…” he can’t get the rest of the words out.
You drop back down to lavish attention on his head, gripping the base with one hand as your other cups his balls in your palm. He’s more than a handful but you do your best to make him feel good. You move your index finger back to find his perineum and gently press on it.
Steve shudders, his body swaying and his release floods your mouth. The force of it makes you glad he wasn’t in your throat as you suck him dry, taking wave after wave of his cum. When it finally eases, he’s panting hard and gripping the counter. You look up and feel a surge of pure joy at the bliss on his face.
You rise to your feet, licking your lips clean and Steve slits his eyes open.
“Ah, fucking hell. That was the most amazing thing I’ve ever felt in my life.”
Your cheeks heat at the praise and you wrap your arms around him, nuzzling his chest. “Really?” The need for validation, to know that you’ve pleased him is intense. This is Steve, after all, and the only thing on your mind for weeks has been his satisfaction.
But for real, this is what you've been masturbating to for months now, giving Steve a blow job and hearing him praise you.
Another favorite image was of your sweet super soldier sprawled out in the center of your mattress, fucked out after you’d ridden him for hours. He had the stamina. You were certain he was up to the task. The bottle of lubricant in your nightstand was just in case you struggled to keep up.
His arms fold around you and he lowers his head to brush his nose against yours. Softly his lips cover yours and he sighs into the kiss. The sound is full of contentment. You push up onto the balls of your feet and fasten your arms around him, kissing him back, thrilled by your accomplishment.
Steve pulls back, a hint of shyness on his face. “I think… uh… I might have just developed an obsession with your mouth, doll.”
Your grin is immediate. “Is that so? Good. I didn’t spend six months fantasizing about giving you head to deliver a mediocre blow job on my first try.”
His pupils dilated, darkening his eyes. “First try?”
“I’m going to have to take my time and learn what you like. Practice makes perfect, Captain. You know that.”
His possible obsession quickly turns into an active, perverse, unhealthy fixation with your mouth. From that day on, Steve Rogers, the golden boy who everyone thinks is too pure for this world, becomes hopelessly addicted to his best girl’s mouth.
You ensure his addiction is well fed.

Hello amazing person! May I request headcanons for Dahlia, Ema, |and Person of your choice:) | From Ace attorney with A non-binary lover who is very flirty but the very moment someone compliments them they get all flustered and forgets how to speak for a moment. Burrito..
Yesss thank you :). I usually don’t apologise for requests taking a while, but I do apologise here because I did want to get this out earlier.
Dahlia, Ema, and Miles with a flirty S/O
DAHLIA HAWTHORNE
Tumblr media
From her looks and her facade, she often gets hit on by others. So when you flirt with her, she’s unaffected.
However, once you get together and your comments become more personal, changing from ‘your hair is as gorgeous as the sunset’ to ‘you’re extremely assertive which is nice when the restaurant has screwed up my order twice and the waiter called me annoying for asking for the correct meal’.
She likes getting complimented on her actual self, not her facade. While she can be sweet and caring to those close to her, she has a lot of pent up frustration from holding it at all other hours so she may be harsher (nowhere near abusive, perhaps just snapping at them before taking in a breath or three before apologizing) to her s/o.
The day she found out your reaction to her own flirtations was a day that had started off pretty shittily. Her dress had gotten ruined from mud splashed from the rain, her mother had managed to find her address and dumped her half sister on her front step with only a scrawled note saying she didn't know when she'd pick her up, and the worst of it all was that she couldn't even scream into a pillow because she had to take care of said 4 year old.
Then you came in, and took Pearl out to lunch so she could shower and rinse what mud she could out of the dress before running it to someone who knew how to repair it, and by the time you were back she'd come up with a makeshift meal plan for Pearl and drawn up the couch for the kid.
Hours later, once Pearl was asleep and you two were leaning against each other in bed, watching some dumb movie on her laptop, she quietly said, "Thank you. Seriously. I'm…. I'm a lot happier when you're around. You make me feel human."
When you didn't respond she looked up, and the luminous flush on your cheeks and heat in your neck was answer enough.
From there, she began giving you compliments more often, trying to give you at least one serious one per day. It was kind of annoying… but the flustered smile on your face was worth it.
EMA SKYE
Tumblr media
She's usually too involved in her own head to notice your flirtations, honestly. And when she does, she just rolls her eyes (with a small smile) and shoves your face away.
She's not really an active complimenter, usually saying "thanks, that's a really good idea" instead of gushing heavily, so she doesn't realize how embarrassed you get by compliments until a few months into your relationship.
"God, I just can't figure this out." You look over and notice with amusement that your girlfriend is laying facedown on the couch.
"What's up, babe? Don't know how to accept the cutest person in the world award?" You move to crouch next to her, and hearing her long groan makes you laugh.
"It's this assignment. I'm supposed to find out what this guy was doing on Thursday night for his alibi- the usual officer is on sick leave and chief just put me in charge of it. But there's nothing! The man has no social media. He refuses to tell us anything! All we know is that he's a calligraphy enthusiast."
"What's his name? You could look at Facebook groups for calligraphy- maybe his profile is hidden or something." You offer, and hop back when she moves, grabbing her phone and typing like her life depended on it.
"Perfect! I found him! Oh my god, you're a genius, a perfect genius, I thought I was going to have to steal his diary or-"
She looks up at you and paused at your deeply colored cheeks. "Are you… you are!"
She laughs and sets her phone on the table, kissing you on the nose. "Babe, screw it, we're having a night out. Let's see a movie!"
MILES EDGEWORTH
(ill put a pic in for him later i couldnt find a good one)
Okay okay hear me out…. He knows what flirting is, but he ignores it.
You're telling me Mr lived with Franziska for half his life doesn't respect everyone he meets because she would kick his ass for disrespecting women and non-binary people if he ever had the inclination (though he really didn't)?
He's the most respectful asshole on the planet. He gets people hitting on him often.
So when you start, he just zips it and ignores it. Once you become friends he starts finding the flirtations amusing, and when he starts to like you he gets incredibly red in the face and coughs into his wrist.
Also the reason he ignores it is because he doesn't know how to respond send tweet.
Honestly you probably get a kick out of flustering him. He's so pretty when he looks like that can you really help it?
Once you get into a relationship he doesn't react as heavily but his face still goes red and he covers his mouth.
He's a saint for not often getting back at you, as he found out early on that you were the same way.
"Hey, handsome, I got the papers and lunch you were asking for. No big deal for the smartest guy I know." You smile as you hand over the supplies to show you weren't flirting flirting, and his face lines ease.
"Ah, thanks. Oh-" he looks inside the bag and pulls out a steel samurai toy. "I thought they ran out of this one."
"I pressed the manager, and apparently there was one stuck behind the bags!" You clasped your hands and smiled. "I know you had been looking forward to it, so… I figured I would shop around."
"Thank you. Thank you a lot, I… this is really kind of you. You're a very kind person."
Miles pulled the fries out of the bag and turned to offer you one, but he had to stifle a laugh at your flushed face.

The Cabin

Masterlist
Pairing: Clyde Logan x fem!reader
Word Count: 6.8k
Warnings: PinV sex, unprotected sex, self pleasure, fingering, masturbation, alcohol consumption.
Please accept my offering of my vision of mountain man Clyde.
A hike in the woods was meant to calm your mind and let you focus on yourself for a while; a sort of cheap alternative to going to a spa. However, you were anything but relaxed, and focused on everything except just yourself.
You were lost. Despite spending hours on YouTube trying to learn how to navigate, you had still taken the wrong turn and didn’t notice until it was too late. Thankfully it was the beginning of autumn, so it was still warm outside, and you didn’t need to start worrying about getting cold just yet, despite the sun slowly descending across the horizon.
The crappy phone which you had insisted didn’t need replacing had died long before you realized just how lost you were. You had a particularly bad habit of never charging your phone and it was coming back to bite you in the ass.
You had taken a, supposedly, easy trail. ‘Beginner friendly’ was the description your friend had given you when you asked for tips. You were cursing them mentally in your mind now, their definition of ‘beginner friendly’ was obviously vastly different from yours.
It had been hours, or at least it felt like it. You were steadily making your way through the granola bars you had packed. Your version of survivor mode consisted of trying to eat everything you could see due to anxiety, instead of saving it in case you’d be out here for hours.
It was the same rock you had passed a while back, you were sure of it, convinced that you were officially just walking in one big circle.
You hadn’t seen anyone else out on the trails which were surprising.; you figured trails were usually always packed with curious adventurers.
The snap of a branch pulled you out of your inner monologue, causing you to freeze and your heart to painfully contract in fear. You were sure that this was the moment you would die; a rabid coyote was surely bound to attack you at any moment. Were there even coyotes in West Virginia? You didn’t want to find out.
Turning around to see what it was that had made the sound wasn’t an option in your mind, it really wasn’t. Turning around would, in your mind, mean that you were accepting being mauled to death and despite your sometimes negative output you wanted to live for a while longer.
“Please, please, please don’t be a coyote… pleas-“ You let out a loud scream as a hand grabbed onto your shoulder, instinctively jabbing your elbow back to connect with the somewhat soft stomach of someone who was very much not a wild and crazed animal.
Whoever was behind you let out a low ‘ouff’ sound from your attack but did not seem overly affected otherwise.
“Sorry!” It was a man’s voice, judging from the deep tone of it. You whirled around whilst simultaneously attempting to take a step backwards, resulting in you falling to the ground ungracefully. There was definitely no chance you could run away from him now if he turned out to be less than friendly.
“Who are you?” You shuffled back against the ground, trying to put some distance between the two of you in naïve hope. The stranger, noticing your distress, put his hands out in front of him whilst taking a few steps back, increasing the distance between the two of you.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare ye.” You surveyed him sceptically as he apologized. He looked like he was a nice person, but that only went so far, anyone had the ability to look nice. He blended into your surroundings, lacking the bright colours you were wearing; it was obvious that he did not share in your desire to want to be seen. He also looked like he was much more used to the woods than you were (not that it was hard).
“Are ye okay?” His question made you realize that you hadn’t replied, and you were still lying there like a seal on the ground. You stumbled up onto your feet with a huff, grabbing a stick that was laying by your hand just as you thrust yourself up.
It was a small stick, definitely incapable of causing serious bodily harm but you hoped that if you were desperate enough, it could poke out an eye. Or at least scratch it.
You held it out in front of you, wielding it like a sword. It was hard not to miss the smile that flew across the stranger’s face. You were most likely a funny sight, a flustered and oblivious city girl waving a twig. But you felt like King Arthur waving Excalibur and that was all that mattered. One lonely girl pumped full of adrenaline could do a lot of damage with a twig and a mean right hook.
“What do you want?” You spat. A tiny voice inside of you told you that you were being ridiculous. Here he was, a nice man probably just concerned over seeing you wander through the woods, obviously lost, so close to nightfall. But the devil on your other shoulder told you to trust no man, to kick him where the sun doesn’t shine and take off like a bat out of hell.
“I just wanted to see if ye were okay; it gets cold out here at night.” He still had his hands up like he was getting arrested. You considered his words carefully. You weren’t okay, you hadn’t planned on staying out until nightfall. All you were going to do was hike to the top of the mountain and go back down, but apparently, you were too incompetent to even perform that simple task.
“I called out a couple of times, but ye didn’t seem to hear me.”
“Oh,” You dropped the twig at the revelation. It explained a lot; you were after all notorious for getting lost in your thoughts and turning deaf.
“Sorry.” You said sheepishly as you lowered the stick to your side but still grasped it tightly (just in case). You sent him a small apologetic smile even though you didn’t owe him one.
“So, do ye need help?”
“Hmm…” Did you need help? You glanced around you, surveying your surroundings again. It was a lot closer to dark than you were comfortable with. The granola bars were all gone, you didn’t have anything warmer on than the fleece jacket you had dug out from the back of your closet. You had no way of contacting anyone and you were not competent enough to build anything close to a working shelter for the night.
You eyed him again as you thought over your answer. He seemed nice enough, he reminded you slightly of a big, burly bear. He was a behemoth of a man, standing tall and wide with dark hair and eyes, but there was some kindness there that made you feel as if you could trust him.
The thing that eventually won you over was his hand, it was obviously a prosthetic now that you were focusing on him. You hoped that a prosthetic hand meant that it was much less likely that he could grab a firm hold on you.
-
Clyde Logan wasn’t a very talkative man. If you were to google ‘mountain man’ he would pop up as one of the image results. The modern version of course, accompanied by the usual camo gear. You had always had a weakness for the lumberjack flannels and the thick moustache that tickled his lips had you wondering what it would look like drenched in your juices.
But it would be stupid attempting to seduce the grumpy man that had saved you from certain death, right?
He knew so much about the woods and the dangers that were surrounding you, making you realize just how stupid you were to be out there alone. But of course, he didn’t offer you all of this information on his own. No, you had to practically force the words out of his mouth, but thankfully you were the Master of Babble, and he was eventually forced to answer if he ever wanted you to shut up.
You were making your way to his cabin that was apparently just over a mile away. Clyde was leading the way with you practically walking on his heels trying to keep up with his long strides and sneaking looks over your shoulder in paranoia to see if anyone was following the two of you.
Clyde had said that it was too late to return to your car seeing how late it was. Apparently, you had walked in the completely wrong direction from the start and were now a couple of miles away from civilization. He had graciously offered you a sleeping spot in his cabin over the night with a promise to help you back first thing in the morning.
It was picturesque, Clyde’s cabin. Nothing less than what you expected of the man, and surprisingly a lot cleaner than what you had assumed from stereotyping.
“This is so cute!” You admired, sending a small smile up to Clyde with a tilt of your head. He almost looked embarrassed over your praise, only responding with a small huff as he took his shoes off and walking toward the kitchen area.
It was a studio type of situation. Everything was in one room: the small kitchenette, tv-area, and makeshift bedroom. Clyde had flipped a switch which turned on a light that illuminated the entire cabin in a soft glow.
“There’s a bathroom over there.” Clyde gestured to a door on the left, and you couldn’t help peaking in. You hadn’t expected a fully functional bathroom at all, seeing how you were in the middle of nowhere but here it was. And you were so grateful. Going potty in the woods was not on your bucket list.
“Are ye hungry? It’s nothin’ much but I have some sandwiches that we can eat.” Clyde ran his fingers through his hair as he asked the question nervously when you came over after your brief tour of the cabin.
“A sandwich would be great, thank you!” You took it gratefully from his hand as he offered it to you before plopping down on the couch.
You were a lot hungrier than you had though. Your stomach rumbled loudly as you unwrapped the sandwich and taking a bite.
“Have you had this for long?” You said after you had finished chewing your first bite, gesturing with your hand wildly to the cabin.
“Couple of years.” Clyde didn’t look at you as he responded, focused intently on his own sandwich.
He left it at that, not elaborating any further and you didn’t want to cross the obvious boundary he had drawn, so you stayed quiet.
You were never good with silence and awkward situations. When others were perfectly comfortable with silence you just had to talk. Googled had diagnosed it as a symptom of anxiety but you had never actually built enough courage up to actually have a evaluation.
“Do you like to read?” You had taken notice of the overflowing bookcase he had. It was hard not to, it was perhaps the biggest piece of furniture he had, spanning the length of an entire wall.
“Mhmm” Honestly, the hums he would do to answer your questions made you soaked.
“What’s your favourite?” He looked as if he was considering your question, leaning back into his seat and looking up at the ceiling for a moment.
“It would have to be In Search for Lost Time by Marcel Proust.”
“I love that book.”
“Is that so?” You nodded your head with wide eyes, happy to have found a subject to talk about. You loved books, yes, but to be honest you had never read that book. But you were hoping you could wing it enough so that Clyde wouldn’t notice.
“What’s your favourite part?” Okay, so maybe you hadn’t thought it through. You couldn’t hide the small wince you did at his question.
It would’ve been better to have said nothing at all, you just really wanted Clyde to like you. You didn’t know why; it wasn’t like you were ever going to see him again. It was just that there was something about him that made you want to kneel and say, ‘please daddy’ and you didn’t know how to get there with someone so reluctant to talk.
“Ye tryin’ to impress me?” He must be a mind reader.
“Oh, no I just-“ You trailed off, unsure over what to say that would not make you seem as desperate.
He stood up, watching you as he made his way around the room, but he wasn’t moving toward you; instead, he disappeared through the front door without a word.
You deflated like a balloon as the door shut behind him, sinking into the cushions and cursing yourself. Why were you so desperate to impress people? The answer was simple because you were you and you had an irrational need for people having to like you.
-
Clyde wasn’t gone for long. He had simply gone out to fill up on the firewood for the fireplace that you had neglected to notice before.
“It’s supposed to get below 30 here tonight.” Was it rude to say that you were impressed with how easily he did things despite only having one hand? It wasn’t that you expected him to not be able to function at all, it’s just that you were barely functioning yourself with two hands.
It had already started getting just a tiny bit colder, enough for you to have curled your legs onto the couch, leaning on the armrest with a blanket thrown over you. The cold was a fiend that you would never get along with.
“I’m sorry.”
“What are ye sorry for?” He looked truly bewildered over your words, stopping what he was doing and looking up at you from his crouched position.
“I shouldn’t have lied.”
“’S okay.” He continued with starting a fire. “We’ve all told a white lie.”
“That’s true, but I’m usually better at playing it off.” You joked and he shared a chuckle with you.
It was cozy once Clyde got the fire started. He turned off the lamp in the ceiling, muttering something about preserving a battery, opting to turn on another by the bed and then settled back down. He was sitting next to you this time, not across from you in the chair as previously. You could practically feel the heat radiating from his skin, he was so close. The couch was small, only a two-seater, but you suppose that he didn’t need much more seeing how he was only one person.
Clyde crowded your personal space. It felt like he was everywhere around you, suffocating you (but in the best way). He slung his arm over the back of the couch, just barely grazing your back. You were surprised with how forward he was being but decided not to question it too much, figuring he might take it wrong and shy away.
“Yer not from ‘round here are ye?”
“Is it so obvious?” Of course, it was obvious. You told him where you lived and there seemed to be a small glint of recognition in his eyes.
“Ye should get a guide next time, one of the rangers will take ye for free.” It was surprising how caring he seemed to be.
“One of the rangers?” You didn’t want a ranger to show you around the next time.
“Mhmm”
“Can’t you take me?” You diverted your eyes from his face as you asked the question, feigning being shy. You let them trace down his sculptured-by-God body, double-checking for a ring on one of his fingers. There was none, or well you assumed that it wasn't a wedding ring. It didn't look like one, it had more of a class ring vibe to it.
Clyde didn’t respond immediately. He was studying you, analyzing every crevice of your face it seemed like.
It was impossible not to get lost in his eyes. You tried really hard not to at first but gave up way too quickly. You wondered if he knew just how attractive he was. He had to have several ladies running after him, desperate for a getaway in his cabin in the woods.
“Do ye want me to?” He finally asked. It was obvious that he had tensed up at your question. His back was rigid, he was sitting as straight as you had ever seen a person sit.
“Maybe…” You were subconsciously leaning closer toward him, inhaling as much of his sent as you could discreetly. It was very vampire-like of you.
He smelled just as you thought he would. Like pine trees. There was just the smallest undertone of sweat and it drove you wild. It wasn’t usually your scent of choice for obvious reasons but on Clyde… On Clyde it was as if he had been doused in some kind of pheromones that made you completely drenched and mad with want.
You thankfully stopped yourself before you could release the moan that was bubbling in your throat. Who in their right mind moaned to a stranger that they hadn’t even touched over the way they smelled? (Only counting people that weren’t high or drunk, of course).
It was a battle getting you to lean away from Clyde again, but the rational part of your brain thankfully won. You had to dig your nails into your thighs, trying to pinch yourself through the fabric of your pants to bring you back to reality and gain some self-control.
“I’ll take you.” He promised with a nod, looking as serious as always. You wondered if he always wore that expression with everyone. You hadn’t been able to coax a lot of smiles out of him, despite categorizing yourself as a fairly hilarious person and having cracked some jokes on the walk to the cabin.
You sent him a small smile in response, feeling relieved not to have been rejected. That would’ve been embarrassing.
He surveyed you for a while more before finally asking if you wanted a drink.
-
The makeshift bar cabinet that he had was surprisingly well-stocked. Too well-stocked for him to be a raging alcoholic. You questioned him curiously about it. Finding out that he was a bartender was a welcomed surprise. You challenged him to make a drink you had never heard of, and he was quick to deliver.
It was delicious, making it easy to pay him compliments over his talent.
“I own a bar, ‘s called Duck Tape.” It was clear that he was proud over his business, with the way his chest seemed to almost swell with his words.
You told him about your own job, not exactly sharing the same enthusiasm seeing how your job was one of the main reasons for why you needed a stress-relieving hike in the first place.
You’d always been a lightweight. It was no secret; you had an uncanny ability to be able to get hammered on one glass of alcohol. Google told you that it could have something to do with your liver, but you did not want to go to the hospital to find out.
You neglected to think about this small fact when you asked Clyde to make you a drink and you were now suffering the consequences. You were drunk, or at least somewhere over the border of tipsy.
Clyde seemed to have relaxed from the alcohol as well. He was much freer in letting a laugh leave his body which had caused you to jump at first in surprise at the boisterous sound.
He had shuffled closer to you, or was it you that had shuffled closer to him? It had happened without either of the two of you noticing but you didn’t try to move away once you did.
You didn’t speak about anything of significance, not really. It was all nonsense, but you never wanted it to stop. Eventually, you mutually decided that sleep was a necessity if you were going to have the energy to get back to your car in the morning.
“Ye can take the bed if ye want.” Clyde motioned over the back of the couch toward the bed in the corner of the room. You glanced over at it, gnawing at your lip as you considered his proposal. Would it be inappropriate to say that you wanted him to share the bed with you?
The bed was too small for it to be shared in any way that wasn’t intimate which was exactly what you wanted.
You assumed that Clyde was as interested in you as you were of him. His hand was dangerously close to your knee as it sat on the seat of the sofa; if he moved his finger less than an inch it would graze your skin.
“Where would you sleep?” You feigned innocent.
“I’ll take the couch.” He knew what you were doing; you could see it in his eyes. They had grown even darker than before and were hooded as they watched you. It was easy to get lost in them, they were the most expressive eyes you had ever seen.
Both of you knew that neither of you would sleep on the couch that night.
There was a flurry of hands and all of a sudden you were in his lap, grinding down, lips connected to one another.
Clyde was a great kisser. Scratch that. He was amazing. He knew exactly how to make you completely drenched from just a few nibbles and strokes of his tongue against your own. He was a natural (Or a player, but you somehow got the impression that he didn’t lure innocent people to his cabin on the regular for a quick lay).
You could feel how hard he was despite the layers separating his bulge from your core. Hard and large and it made you dizzy to think about.
Clyde was taking his time running his hands up and down your waist, his right hand grabbing here and there, never moving under your shirt despite your obvious eagerness. A roll of his hips elicited a moan from you.
Your own hands weren’t shy in their movements; they were grasping onto his broad shoulders, holding on to the fabric as you tried to pull him closer to you.
He separated his lips from yours with a chuckle.
“Eager, are we?” His crooked grin was panty-dropping worthy.
He trailed his lips down your neck before you could reply, suckling gently over your pulse point.
The moan he pulled from you echoed around the room as you tilted your head to the side, allowing him more room to roam.
Your hands tighten their hold on his shoulders. You had always been extra sensitive around the neck and the combination of his lips and the tickle from his moustache was enough to send you into overdrive.
“Clyde…” You breathed out his name shakily, feeling tingles start to travel from your hands and up your arms from the excitement.
He hoisted you up surprisingly quickly from the sofa, causing you to let out a shriek in surprise.
He was strong. Of course, he was strong, you shouldn’t have expected anything else but still…
He carried you toward the bed, setting you down unceremoniously on the edge. You had to grab a hold of the sheet so as not to fall over.
“I want you to strip.” There was no room for arguing in his voice, and it was exactly what you needed. You didn’t want to have to think about your actions.
He was watching you intently, waiting for you to do as you were told, causing you to frantically reach for the zip of your fleece, pulling it down your arms and then throwing it mindlessly away from you.
Your shirt was the next thing that came off. Clyde’s gaze followed as your shirt revealed more and more skin. You didn’t miss the way he bit his lip hungrily.
Your bra wasn’t perhaps the sexiest thing you owned but you weren’t exactly expecting to be in the situation you were when you headed out that morning.
The bra joined the other items a bit slower. You wanted to drag it out; was it mean that you wanted him to have to suffer just a tiny bit?
You were basking in his obvious admiration of your body as you slowly slid the pants down and stepped out of them, leaving you in just your socks and underwear.
Perhaps it wasn’t the sexiest you had ever looked, but it was the sexiest you had ever felt, and that was the important part.
“Panties too.” He had started palming himself through his pants, huffing out small groans of satisfaction here and there. It had made you drenched and you did not doubt that it was obvious to him just how aroused you were.
You were finally standing there in front of him, completely bare, socks and panties having been removed. His eyes ran over every inch and crevice of you that was visible in the low light.
He was still fully dressed, having just unbuttoned his pants so that he could force his hand down to tug at himself.
“I want you to lay down and touch yourself.” Touch yourself? Couldn’t he do it? You opened your mouth to argue but one look from Clyde made you snap your mouth shut again.
The comforter was soft against your skin as you laid down on your back. You were shy as you separated your legs just enough so that you could slip your hand in between your legs.
The first touch was electric. You had never felt such a reaction from simply touching yourself. Sure, you were an expert in getting yourself off, but it never felt quite like this, not this good from so little.
You circled your bud, applying just the right pleasure that caused you to moan. Your eyes fluttered shut involuntarily, getting lost in the feeling building in your belly.
“Open yer eyes.” He had moved closer, a lot closer, with surprising stealth as you hadn’t heard even a low scuffle of feet. His eyes were commanding the attention of your own as he scolded you.
You withdrew your hand automatically from yourself, moving it up to rest on your belly, thinking that he must want you to stop. You were wrong, however, for his eyes snapped down to watch it and he scolded you once again.
“I didn’t tell ye to stop.” He only moved away once more when he was satisfied with your continued movements.
He walked over to the single chair by the living room table, dragging it with him back over to the bed, placing it by the end where he would get just the right view of you working yourself.
He pulled his pants down before sitting down with a huff. He had gone commando. You let out a whimper of need at the sight.
Clyde Logan was the owner of the most perfect cock you had ever seen. It was so heavy that it had barely been able to bob against his stomach, despite his sitting position.
You arched your neck, trying to get a closer look. It was swollen and huge and pink at the tip. His thumb was working over the head, smearing the precum that had leaked out.
“Ye stopped.” It was a statement, and he didn’t need to give you further instructions for you to once again start moving your hand between your legs.
You let it travel further down this time, to collect some of your wetness with two fingers before bringing it up to your mouth and tasting yourself. Sweet and tangy.
Clyde didn’t make a single sound to let you know if he was affected by your actions, so all you could do was assume that he was, and that was enough to spur you on.
You brought your hand back down, inserting a finger slowly, testing the waters. You were more than ready, your walls giving way easily to the intrusion.
A second soon joined the first and you set a steady rhythm, pumping them in and out with a squelch as your walls clenched around your digits. Your other palm came up to massage at your breast, twisting the nipple between your fingertips.
Your chest heaved with your moans that were penetrating the air. It was hard keeping your eyes open with the overwhelming pleasure you were feeling but you had to stay focus, you didn’t want to miss a second of seeing Clyde slumped from the pleasure of his touch as he fucked into his hand.
“I want ye to make yerself cum.” You were more than happy to give in to this demand. Your fingers were moving urgently inside of you, and your other hand moved on from your breast, coming down to pinch at your clit and then rub tight small circles over it.
The heat that had been steadily building inside of you, blossoming in your stomach, was slowly taking over your entire body now. Your toes were beginning to curl, and you were fighting your eyes from rolling backwards in your head.
And then, it all became too much for you and you let go and the best part of it all rolled over you like tidal waves, washing through you, soaking you with that post-orgasmic glow.
You let your fingers slowly slip out of you, letting your arms fall to your sides as you watched Clyde get up. You didn’t know if he had come, having been too focused on yourself, but it didn’t matter, he still stood at full attention.
Your mouth practically frothed at the sight of him, you could turn rabid from the need that you had for him. A whine slipped out of your mouth, an arm lifting up to reach out for him, needing to touch him.
He came close enough so that your fingers could just barely brush against the fabric of his pants that he still insisted on having on.
Rage took over your body. It was an irrational rage, why did he still have them on? You wanted them off and you wanted them off now. You had to see him, all of him, before you went insane from the deprivation. Was it even possible? To lose your mind over not getting to see another person naked? You certainly thought so.
You sat up, leaning on one of your shoulders as you looked up at him with a glare on your face.
“Take them off.” He was thoroughly amused by your attempt at a demand. You didn’t achieve quite the same rumble in your tone that he had which left no room for arguing, but still, he conceded and pushed the pants down his legs until they were low enough to be kicked off.
His shirt followed soon after, almost hitting you in the face as he threw it carelessly toward the corner of the bed.
You couldn’t help but admire him. A work of art, good enough to be hung in the Met, that was for sure.
You got on your knees in front of him, the height from the bed aiding you in being just tall enough so that you could place kisses on his chest- You placed the first one in the middle, right over his sternum whilst looking up at him.
Your eyes stayed locked as you planted another kiss over his heart, the next on his right pec, and so forth. They circled around one of his nipples, letting your teeth give it a small nibble before pulling it with you just a bit before releasing it and letting it revert to its original state, hard as a rock.
It was starting to get more and more obvious just how affected Clyde was getting, his arousal much more prominent, if that was even possible. You could feel it against your skin, you didn’t want to touch it just yet, dragging it out for as long as you could.
You enjoyed watching him become more and more flustered by your actions. His chest was heavy with each audible breath, cock tapping against your lower stomach, begging to be touched, but you kept your hands away. They were holding on to his thighs, caressing them in small movements that were making their way toward his cock at snail pace.
“Ye gon’ tease me all night?” You let out a laugh at the ridiculous accusation. If anybody had been the one to tease, it was Clyde.
“Are you going to tease me all night?” You threw the question back at him, biting your lip with an innocent smile.
He growled. He actually growled and you could feel how it caused a trickle to roll down your leg.
“Didn’t yer mammy or daddy ever teach ye not to talk back?”
“They didn’t actually” His eyes had steadily grown darker and darker as the evening progressed and were now on the border of black.
He smashed your lips together, grabbing a hold of your face with his right hand with a bruising grip. He kissed and nipped at your lips before pulling back and pushing you back onto the bed.
He was quick to follow you onto the bed as he guided you to lay on your back, spread eagle, with him kneeling between your legs. His hands were on his hips as he watched you. You squirmed under his gaze, trying to create some type of friction anywhere that would aid in bringing you closer to another release.
His kisses started on your inner knee, building their way up at a torturous pace. He didn’t leave a kiss between your legs; instead, he just hovered there so you could feel his hot breath tickle you before continuing.
You were practically sobbing for more when he finally made it to your lips.
“Please, you have to…”
“I have t’ what?” He looked completely serious as he looked down at you, balanced on one hand. He was expecting an answer from you, and you didn’t know what to say. You obviously wanted him to fuck you but for some reason, you were too shy to say it.
“Mhm… thought so,” He hummed before dropping down to his elbows pressing his entire body onto you.
You could feel all of him. His skin was electric against your own and you could feel his length brushing over your clit. He rolled his hips in a small wave and you arched your back from the moan that escaped you.
It had all built up so much that the smallest touch from him could cause you to completely fall apart, despite the orgasm you had had. It was because it was different when Clyde was the one that touched you; your own touch was nowhere near adequate in comparison.
He rolled his hips again, this time applying just a bit more pressure and you couldn’t help but to widen and draw up your legs slightly, wanting to give him easier access.
“I didn’t tell ye tha’ ye could move.” You were trembling from need at his words. You needed more; couldn’t he understand that?
You were reluctant as you started to bring your legs back down, but he (thankfully) hooked his left arm around your leg, stopping its descent. He hoisted it up to rest by the side of his hip as he simultaneously sat back upon his haunches.
“Do ye need me inside of ye?” Your head had started nodding before he could even finish the sentence, causing a wicked smile to spread across his face.
“I need t’ be inside of ye too.” They were the most glorious words you had ever heard.
His right hand gave a tug at his cock, but it didn’t need any more preparation. It was hard and as ready for you as you were him. He grabbed a hold of base, stabilizing it as he dragged it through your sweet and slickened folds before slowly slipping inside.
Your walls easily gave way for him as he finally pushed in due to your overflowing arousal. He stretched you as wide as you would go with little pain and raw pleasure. You were clenched tightly around him, walls squeezing him in a vice grip, trying to draw him in even deeper.
You could feel yourself grow more and more manic in your need as he sunk deeper and deeper into you. It was as if all other senses had disappeared and all you could focus on was his powerful thrusts that were drilling into you.
He kept your right leg at his hips, whilst his other hand was hoisting your left over his shoulder after just a few deep thrusts.
You choked from the warmth that spread through your body from this position. He was deeper than you even knew you could take him. The head of his cock tapping at your cervix with every drilling thrust but there was no pain, only excruciating pleasure that made tears leak from your eyes from happiness.
The carnal need was as fervent within Clyde as it was you. He couldn’t take it slow; his thrusts were forceful and intent on driving you to your next orgasm as quickly as he could.
“Fuck, ye feel good.” Clyde hissed. “Such a sweet an’ tight little pussy.”
Your eyes could barely focus on him, only catching small glimpses of him with his hair plastered to his forehead from the moisture that was collected there. Your hands were grasping onto the duvet, needing something to hold onto in desperation.
His thrusts were precise and well calculated; he hit that spot inside of you over and over again that made you let out guttural moans.
But he enjoyed torturing you and he suddenly came to a halt, retracting from you completely.
“Move over.” He helped to guide you in your haze. Your own movements were thankfully still quick despite your barely lucid mind as you shuffled to the side, and he laid down on the bed.
Clyde’s hand was supporting his base, helping it stand tall, ready for you to penetrate yourself onto it. You threw your leg over his hips to straddle him. You hovered over his cock, looking down to see how you were dripping on to him.
You didn’t stay there for too long before mounting yourself onto it, dropping down with a pant as you engulfed him within you.
The pace you set was frantic, chasing climax. Your hands came down to rest on his chest to better help you push yourself up and down his cock. The sound of your skin slapping against his echoed around the room, driving your wild.
He was a sight for sore eyes underneath you. Lost in the madness and wild from it all. His desire and pleasure were so clear on his face from the way his mouth was parted and the way his eyes admired you, following your every movement.
He used his right hand to help you ram down onto him again and again.
You got on your feet, gaining better leverage than you had had before on your knees, bouncing up and down. You were so, so close; you could feel your orgasm simmering there underneath the surface, you just needed a small push to get there. And Clyde delivered that small push.
“Yer such a good girl, takin’ me so well. You just love bein’ fucked, don’t ye?”
Your walls clamped down on him, legs shaking as you came to a stop, being unable to continue as you fell forward onto his chest, overwhelmed by the pleasure that filled your body.
He received you in his arms, letting his hand caress over your spine as you continued to slightly convulse from your orgasm.
“Such a good girl” He crooned in your ear with a kiss and tug on your lobe.
Clyde wasn’t as sweet when he pinned both your arms to your sides with one of his, holding you in place as he started slamming his hips up into you, chasing his own pleasure.
The sounds that came out of your as he rammed himself in over and over again were indistinguishable. You were gushing around him, your entire body vibrating from another orgasm, but he still didn’t let up. His hips were starting to stutter, however, thrusts being off-pace as he pounded into you.
And then a sharp thrust was accompanied by a husky cry as he ejected deep inside of you. He managed to pump into you a few more times as your walls milked him, your mixed climaxes collecting at his base.
You were exhausted, unable to move so he stayed there, deep inside of you as he grew flaccid.
You thought it was a fuck for the history books.

I kinda wonder, what could bakugou do (hori write bakugou to do) to make him less popular with the "anti" crowd. Like He was a horrid child no doubt and people who try to put blame on Deku or lessen the terrible shit bakugou did aren't great. But as we don't rly see it, we have to assume bakugous behaviour wasn't stopped, we only ever saw his mum "punishing" him when he was being rude after getting kiddnapped. Nothing will excuse what bakugou did, but he has stopped? He's overall a harsh person but he's not harrassing and bullying people anymore, specifically not deku, he's trying to attone for what he did to deku and has now apologised for it. His behaviour was never viewed as justified or good in the series, he's a scary figure in middle school, we're not meant to like his behaviour, so the series itself hasn't justified his actions.
As someone who relate to both bakugou and deku more than I'd like to admit (never told someone to jump tho, that's fucked lol) so I can 100% understand not liking or even hating bakugou but as someone who's not 15 anymore, looking back I also made a lot of really shitty decisions and like bakugou have tried to make up for it, and like deku I was 'friends' with people who hurt me.
Is there anything he can do for the "antis" to just dislike him rather that be "anti"?
(I'm very sorry if you've talked about this somewhere, you can just tell me to look for it if you have, I'll continue to look for your posts on the subject)
Hey there, anon! I think I’ve spoken about this only tangentially and/or in my main Bakugo meta, which is too big for anyone sane to read. So yeah, let’s chat here!
For me personally—and that’s all I can ever do: speak personally. I think it’s important to keep in mind that there is no single solution to please the “anti” crowd. Each fan will be looking for something slightly different in Bakugo’s character, much of which might contradict what a “stan” is currently enjoying. Given how charged a character he is, I'm not sure it's possible to get the entire fandom to like him—what I’m looking for hinges on having a different reading of the story than you seem to. Meaning, I think the series does justify his behavior. Not in any overt, super obvious way like having all the characters go, “Wow, Bakugo! I sure do love how you threaten people all the time. That’s super cool and heroic!” Things are rarely that straightforward. Rather, it’s in a more subtle, but consistent manner that paints a rather conclusive picture across hundreds of chapters.
Simply put, Bakugo is continually rewarded for his actions. Or, if not outright rewarded, his actions are ignored in a way that implies silent acceptance. Characters may not always like what he does... but they're willing to let it slide because Bakugo's heroism was always treated as a given, not something he had to earn and prove.
With the ever necessary disclaimer that I’m not fully caught up yet, here’s a list of some of the things that stood out to me in the first half of the series:
Bakugo’s bullying made him the most popular kid in school.
Bakugo’s bullying was ignored by/outright supported by the teachers.
Bakugo’s bullying did not hinder him from getting into U.A., one of the most prestigious hero schools around.
Despite acting horribly throughout his time at U.A. too, this behavior was continually ignored by the teachers and other authority figures around him.
Bakugo’s struggle to realize that other people aren’t “trash” doesn’t hurt his achievements in any way. He still gets top scores, still wins the tournament, etc.
Bakugo’s behavior gets him special attention from All Might, the greatest hero and Bakugo’s personal idol.
His behavior doesn’t make others dislike him in any manner that’s taken seriously. Everybody is still willing to not just put up with Bakugo, but—in time—start treating his behavior as a quirk (no pun intended lol) that they’re secretly fond of, rather than something he should legitimately be striving to change. Kirishima is the most overt example of this.
This is compounded by his behavior constantly being framed as humorous. Much like with Mineta’s perverted actions, characters might superficially go, “No, that’s bad!” but the story never demands any significant development because then we’d lose the “joke” of Bakugo screaming in rage at the slightest inconvenience, threatening to murder someone over nothing, constantly belittling everyone around him in a “funny” manner, etc. When fans talk about development of a manga character as archetypal and extreme as Bakugo, most don’t really want to see significant change to his base personality. Because then that would result in someone who doesn’t look like the “real” Bakugo: someone nicer, more even-tempered, more mature, etc. But for those of us who were never drawn to that personality in the first place, the continued acceptance of his rude, egotistical, and violent behavior is discomforting. The easiest comparison I can draw is between this and Bakugo’s mother slapping him. That slap is meant to be another “joke”—we see it constantly in shonen anime, something "humorous" you shouldn’t take too seriously because haha, it's just an overprotective mother—but many fans do take it seriously, using it as the basis for a whole “Bakugo was abused and this explains his behavior” reading. Well, I take the “joke” of Bakugo’s threats and insults seriously, especially in a story that starts with something like telling Izuku to jump off the roof. In the same way that many fans want others to treat Bakugo’s mother as a serious topic that has had a negative influence on his development, I want the series to take Bakugo’s everyday actions seriously as a negative influence on… well, everyone around him. But it doesn’t. His base personality is grudgingly adored.
The above two points are seen most overtly in Izuku, who never wavers in his respect for Bakugo despite how Bakugo treats him. Not just prior to U.A., but during their training too. Izuku, as the protagonist, is the emotional heart of this tale, so when he talks about how inspiring Bakugo is, it encourages the reader to see his behavior as inspiring too. Rather than, as said, something that needs to change. Izuku's continued friendship with Bakugo, his adoration of him, and his acceptance of the way he's treated has severely warped how the entire story sees Bakugo's actions. After all, if #pure Izuku can see the good in Bakugo, why can't everyone else? He must not be that bad after all.
I could get into detailed analyses of all the above—like how Bakugo was the one comforted after attacking Izuku outside the dorms at night and how the messed up relationship he has with Izuku is upheld as something to nurture; how the remedial courses he had to take were made to be rather silly, thereby undermining their supposed importance to his development; how Bakugo’s kidnapping had nothing to do with his flaws, but much of the fandom uses it as a way to dismiss any appropriate consequences because, “Hasn’t he suffered enough?” etc.—but in the interest of keeping this within a readable length, I’ll leave it at that. The point is that Bakugo has always been privileged when it comes to his behavior, resulting in others either outright praising it, ignoring it, or demanding that he change a miniscule bit, which always keeps him far below the standards of both his peers and the expectations of a hero. Everyone in 1-A must learn to be even better than the good people they already are... Bakugo needs to learn that other people aren't dirt at the bottom of his shoes. It's never been a particularly impressive development when pit against the rest of the class. All of which can make something like an apology feel pretty hollow. Yes, he’s apologized and I say with all seriousness that that’s great! But how does that apology stack up against 300+ chapters of content? As Bakugo’s words highlight, he's been a really awful person up "until now": he was consumed by Izuku being “miles ahead of [him],” he “looked down on [him]” because he didn’t have a quirk, he “didn’t want to recognize that,” he “hated that,” “grew distant,” “tried to beat you down,” “opposed you and tried to show my superiority over you,” and ends it all with, “it probably doesn’t mean anything telling you all this” before finally getting to the “I’m sorry.” This is basically a laundry list of how horrible a person Bakugo has been for the entire series, with an acknowledgement that this apology is coming really, really late. This is the moment where I could START to like Bakugo, depending on how he acts form here on out, but that pivotal moment arrived after six years of content and in the final arc of the story. It’s too late. Bakugo needed this kind of self-reflection and positive action 250+ chapters ago so he could (hopefully) grow into a better person across the story, not at the story's end. What we got instead is 322 chapters of him being a really horrible person, but the story going out of its way to excuse or even praise that behavior the majority of the time.
As a quick comparison to end on, I think what Bakugo needed was what Soo Jin got in True Beauty. You don’t need to have seen the drama to follow along. The tl;dr is that she has a lot of the core qualities of Bakugo: an all-consuming drive to win that was created due to abusive parents with high expectations, resulting in her bullying a peer to a pretty horrific extent. The difference between them is how the story frames their actions. When Soo Jin becomes the bully she loses everything. Rather than succeeding academically, her grades plummet, making it clear that this anxiety and self-doubt (things the fandom keeps insisting Bakugo is struggling with, but that rarely ever show up in the text) is actually impacting her day-to-day life. Her best friend drops her because she’s not going to support her choices. The boy she likes rejects her. She’s eventually forced to start over somewhere new - which importantly separates her from the girl she was bullying - and get some distance from her parents, resulting in the growth needed to become a healthier, happier, good person again. So when Soo Jin apologizes to the girl she hurt, it feels earned. The story continually recognized how horrific her actions were and put her into a place where she either had to change, or continue losing at everything else that was important to her. Bakugo? Bakugo doesn’t lose. Oh, he claims he does because he’s comparing himself to Izuku constantly, but that’s just him thinking in extremes. He still wins academically. Still wins many battles. Still wins at having friends. Still wins by maintaining the prestige of being a U.A. student. Still wins by getting All Might’s attention. Still wins by receiving Izuku’s respect and an agreement to maintain this rivalry that Bakugo is so obsessed with. Bakugo comes out well 99% of the time, he just thinks he's "lost" because he can't stand not being the absolute best.
For me, the story needed to have Bakugo face consequences for his behavior, not receive rewards and/or have others ignore it, and that revelation/apology needed to come way, way sooner. For me the issue is not a specific action that Horikoshi can have Bakugo do in the next chapter and them bam, I like him now. The problem is Bakugo’s entire concept, how he’s received by the entire cast, and his run across this entire series. "Entire" is the key word there. Which is why the “But he’s apologized. What more do you antis want?” reactions don’t sit well. What we wanted is a better written redemption arc across those 300+ chapters, not a single scene that’s meant to have us forget all the other problems inherent in the story. At this point it’s a far more complicated situation than, “Bakugo just needs to do X, Y, and Z and then we’re golden.” At the end of the day, Horikoshi failed to make me like him as a person and I’m pretty sure he isn’t going to change Bakugo enough to make him likable to me. Bakugo was never the sort of character I’d be inclined towards without a serious, nuanced redemption arc, but sadly, a core, crucial part of that redemption arc took six years to arrive. At this point there’s no way to change the problems in Bakugo’s writing for that huge chunk of the series and not enough time left in the series, it seems, to do the work we should have seen across the entire run. Honestly, idk if the Bakugo we'll get going forward is someone I can just dislike as opposed to being really uncomfortable with, but my money is on there being too little story left and too much investment in upholding Bakugo's base personality for that to happen. I could absolutely be proven wrong! But I think the problems are structural and needed to be better dealt with from page one, not hastily patched over in the final hour.

previously - and you can find part 3
Restoring a relationship of trust and regaining the bond that you both had was particularly difficult. You had to learn to find your place in Harrison's life, but also in his relationship with Grace. You were roommates and friends, but it was complicated to plan meetings with Harrison's busy schedule. Between his job search after the cancellation of his Netflix series, his photo shoots, his dates with Grace, those with his family. It was getting harder and harder to find a moment to reunite with the two of you. It was without counting your schedule.
You were supposed to meet at noon for lunch at that restaurant Harrison told you about where he took his mother earlier this year, for Mother's Day. You felt uncomfortable going to such a place. It was very fancy; you had taken a look at the menu and you knew in advance that you would not be able to afford to split the bill. That was sometimes one of the downsides of being friends with Tom and Harrison. They sometimes forgot that their salary was significantly higher than yours. After all, they were still simple, good-natured guys, never saying no to a quick takeout meal or ordering pizza, drinking a beer at the local pub. And sometimes, they offered to go to prestigious places, not paying attention to money, wanting to please their friends or family.
Currently you were in your room. You were throwing countless of clothes across the room, trying to choose what you could wear to this lunch. Harry stopped dead when one of your dresses flew out of your room, right in front of his nose, blocking his way. You had left your door open and your spontaneity got the better of your best friend.
“Easy, Tiger. I had no idea your clothes had the capacity of Dr. Strange's cape.” He joked before coming into your bedroom.
You turned to find Harry leaning against your doorframe, a smirk encrusted on his face. You gave him an unamused frown and his smile widened. This wasn’t funny at all; you were stressed as hell. It’s not like you still had feelings for Harrison and try to impress him – to be honest, you still had feeling for your friend, but not as intense as before, you had drawn a definitive line on the possibility of a romantic relationship with him, which had helped you a lot. – But you didn’t want to be dressed down and looked like a clown.
“Come on Munchkin, it’s just a lunch. At worst, Harrison can still make it looks like he invited you out for charity, sort of “Make a Wish” event” Harry joked, in his significant humor.
“Go to hell, Robert. Don’t you have a pack bag to make, mister “I’m going to Spain to help my superstar brother to hold his tea while he’s filming”?”
“Rude… I’m a film director, now”
Not for that, you thought to yourself, but don't have the balls to tell your best friend. You didn't want to take this joke too far. You smiled at his cute pretending offended face. You pouted mockingly before biting your lip. You loved the dynamics of your relationship so much. Your humor, sarcasm, your outspokenness, that's what brought you together. Harry pulled you lightly from your closet with a comforting wink. He chose Yves Saint Laurent poppy red wool jersey flared pants that Tom gave you on your birthday. You smiled at his choice. You liked these pair of pants because they were sparkling with vitality, the color was flamboyant. Harry then gave you a satin pearl-colored shirt from Zara and you laughed at the drastic brand difference.
“Oh I see. A classy look but no more than £ 1000 that's pretty smart,” you joked.
The choice of your outfit once again proved the reality of hanging out with wealthy people. You were not poor; you could even be grateful for the life you had had. But it would never occur to you to give your friends clothes that were going over the miles and cents. To be honest, you wanted it. You wanted to live up to the gifts your friends sometimes gave you. But the truth seemed quite different: you had cried over the price of a used Rolex you wanted to give Tom for his birthday. Even having saved for 6 months, you could not afford such a gift.
“Shut up, don’t be so dramatic. Wear that necklace Harrison gave you for Christmas. I’m sure you’ll look fine”
“Thank you,Baz…I guess. ”
You kissed his cheek and then invited him out of your room so you could get ready. It didn't take you more than thirty minutes, time to put on the outfit your best friend had chosen and to put on light makeup. When you were finally ready, you walked to Tom's room. He had offered to take you to the restaurant where you were to join Harrison. But when you got to his ajar door, you could hear the soft sound of a slight snoring. You let out a chuckle before ordering an Uber. You knew he had spent almost a full month in Los Angeles and hadn't returned until early last week. You wanted to leave him as much as possible alone so that he could rest before his trip to Spain for the reshoots of his film Uncharted. Tom was a boy who loved being in touch with those close to him, but you also felt his need to recharge his batteries. That's why you preferred to let him sleep.
You went down to the kitchen to pour yourself a glass of water before leaving. When your Uber arrived, you left a note on the refrigerator to let the boys know you were safely gone. It was little everyday things that made you look normal that you enjoy. A post-it on the fridge, a table organizing household chores had been drawn up. Note to yourself; It was Harrison's turn to take care of the laundry.
☙♡❧
You had really hoped this was just a grotesque nightmare. That it wasn't real. He was going to arrive; he was just stuck into the traffic. Isn't it?
But you were there, waiting for over an hour and a half, without any news from your friend. Some people watched you with pity eyes, the others didn't give you any attention. You internally thank Harry for choosing your outfit. You didn't look like a lost kitten in this prestigious setting. It didn't prevent you from being ashamed right now. The waiter had urged you to order several times but you had told him that you were expecting someone, that he would arrive any minute. The last time, you didn't know if you were trying to convince him or yourself.
But it never happened. Harrison never came to your dinner. You were alone, sitting at a table, pathetically waiting for your friend to show up. It didn't look like him. He had never stand you up before. And not to improve this embarrassing moment, the waiter came to you again. This time, with a man in a suit. He was elegant, carried himself proud but diplomatic. They stopped at your table, a tight smile on their faces. No doubt the man in the suit was to be the manager.
"Miss, my employee told me that you seemed to have occupied this table for a while now. I am sorry to tell you that if you do not order a few things, you will have to leave the establishment"
You looked at him with misty eyes. You have never been so ashamed in your life. You just nod your head, not trusting your voice just yet. After taking a deep breath, you finally apologize to them before telling them that you are going to leave. The manager of the restaurant, out of politeness awkwardly apologizing for this uncomfortable situation.
You've finished the Dry Martini that you allowed yourself to, paying for it with whatever pride you have left. You pulled your cellphone out of your purse and decided to call one of the boys. After three rings, he picked up.
"Hey ... can you please pick me up?"
Your voice was shaky, you were so ashamed but it was less distressing than having to walk the Walk of Shame to your house or cry in an uber. You hung up and shared your location. You left the lobby, leaving the restaurant, standing in front of the entrance to the establishment. The air refreshed your cheeks burning with shame. Luckily it wasn't raining today. Which was pretty nice compared to that early summer you had had.
When you saw Harry's car pulled up in front of you, you slid into the passenger seat without a word. The curly redhead gave you a heartwarming smile but you definitely could see a spark of annoyance in his eyes. You sigh, resigned while shrugging your shoulders. It was obvious that your friendship with Harrison was still shaky.
"I'm sorry, love. He's a jerk about it."
Coincidentally, like a mitigating circumstance, your phone vibrated, receiving a notification from Harrison. You were chewing your lip with a sort of anguish and irritation, watching the message the blond had sent you.
"I'm sorry. So sorry. My agent called me for a pretty urgent casting briefing. She's detained me until now. Are you still okay for this dinner?"
You were angry. You were mature enough and had known the boys long enough to understand their obligations. The fact that Harrison had a lastminute meeting with his agent and missed your dinner wasn't a problem. The problem was, he made you wait for over an hour and a half before notifying you. You wanted him to call you to let you know, or a simple text just after he knew for the meeting. You typed a short answer, shorter than this was impossible. "No". You rested your head against the headrest, turning your gaze to your best friend.
"Hey, he's a Netflix star now" you replied to his last words.
Your voice cracked on the last syllables and your eyes filled with tears. You weren't usually that emotional but the anguish and shame really took over you. Harry noticed, unsure of how to instantly respond to your distress. He would have liked to stop on an emergency lane to take you in his arms but he already had 2 penalties to pay, respectively for speeding and prohibited parking ... a third fine would not be really welcome. He simply placed his hand on your thigh, drawing circles on your pants to comfort you. He simply moved his hand to shift gears and instantly rested it on your leg whenever he had the chance. This gesture soothed you, enjoying the touch, grateful to have someone as your best friend to mop up your pain.
☙♡❧
Arriving at the apartment, no sign of Harrison. When you walked in the kitchen, you saw Tom sitting at the counter, scrolling his phone. He looked up at you, not directly noticing your annoyed expression.
"Wow..you're ... gorgeous. I love these pants on you"
You smiled, a little amused by the compliment. Of course he loved the pants, it was a gift from him. But your smile didn’t reach your eyes. With a look on your expression then on the clock, the actor understood that something went wrong. Harry was right behind and still no trace of Harrison. It was suspicious. Tom gave you a worried look.
"Do I have to ask…Never mind, I’m still going to ask. How was lunch with Harrison?"
"I don't know, why don't you ask him? Oh wait... right, he didn't show up" you said sarcastically although you could hear the hurt in your voice.
Tom frowned, biting the inside of his lower lip in annoyance. Harrison was his best mate since forever and he knew him so well. It seemed strange from Harrison to not show up. The blond has told him he was happy to see you again and walking through this whole awkward “feeling situation” because he didn’t want to lose you. In a quick movement, he rose from his stool to walk around the counter. The next second, he took you in his comforting arms and you finally let yourself go under the sight of the two Holland brothers.
“It seems like you need a break of all this shit” Tom said while he ran his fingers through your hair.
You let a little laugh escape through your tears. He wasn't wrong. You really needed to get away from this whole situation for a moment. But how? Harry watched the scene unsure of what to do. You were his best friend and it seemed like the solace you found was never in his arms. He had tried in the car, however, as best he could. He walked over to the counter to make you both a cup of tea. It seems that as cliché as it sounds, tea comforts you, as the English person you used to be. As the redhead waited patiently for the water to boil, a flash of genius - according to him - crossed the glare of his eyes.
“Why doen't she come with us to Spain?”
His brother's words seemed to suit Tom, who released his hold on you. You opened your eyes wide, not sure of what you had just heard. Go to Spain, with them? Once again, you knew you were going to argue on this proposition. The idea was not bad, Spain seemed a rather pleasant country. But you had just graduated and had a student job to save as much as possible. However, you could not afford to leave for several days in Spain, at the last minute. Plus, what were you going to do while Tom was filming and Harry was assisting him? He was sure the film's production crew wasn't going to give you a pass because Tom had decided.
“Yeah! That’s it, you’re coming with us”
“Tom, I have a student job. I can’t just…decide to go to Spain.”
“You never take a leave, come on. It’s not negotiable”
You were looking at Harry for help but he just shrugged. After all, he was the one who had initiated the idea of including you on the trip. You were trying to find a valid excuse to stay home. You really didn't want to impose yourself.
“I can’t afford that” you said, trying your best to convince him to quit the idea.
“I don’t care, it’s not even a problem. You coming to Spain with us.”
"Omg, does Z dominate you in bed to make you so bossy in life?"
Harry almost spitted his tea and laughed out loud while Tom gave you shocked eyes with pinky cheeks. You had always been sassy but hanging out with the boys had made you even more sassy than ever. How many times haven't you heard Tuwaine or Harry make fun of Harrison or Tom on the sex subject? Being a girl seemed to make you an untouchable character. The boys had never teased you about your relationships or your sexual partners. And while you've always had feelings for Harrison, you've had your own experiences. Anyway, you had just gone with the flow and Tom's brand-new romantic relationship with his co-star gave you the perfect opportunity.
“That's not the point.” stammered the actor.
Your smile widened, proud of your joke and the way Tom reacted. You heard Harry clear his throat. He had his phone in his hand and his own smile didn't bode well for you.
"The production is okay but it's at Tom's expense."
“You got to be kidding me…”
☙♡❧
You ended up in Spain with two of your best friends. You knew you had limited time before Tom had to fly back to Los Angeles for some Spider-man: No Way Home reshoots. So, you enjoyed as much as possible: accompanying the boys to the golf course - even though you weren't very involved in the sport -, spending time to visit touristic places when they were on set, talking with Rachael and other people from the set. You really enjoyed your trip.
On Wednesday evening you went out to a restaurant with Tom, Harry and two other friends/tom’s colleagues. You couldn't deny that it was fun. You had the opportunity to sunbathe a little while walking through the streets of Madrid. Spain was doing you good and not once did you think about your wobbly friendship with Harrison. You've just left the restaurant when a few fans politely show up to take pictures with Tom. You couldn't help but smile at the thought of how kind Tom had always taken in a few snaps when his fans approached him respectfully - and there weren't too many of them -. You sighed with pleasure before stepping away from the group. You leaned against a wall and took out the packet of cigarettes that Tom had asked you to keep in your clutch bag. Being an occasional smoker, he wouldn't blame you if you took one from him. You tilted your head back to admire the dark starry night when you felt a presence by your side. You narrowed your eyes in mischief as you looked sideways: Harry was there, his nose wrinkled from your cigarette. He didn't like it too much Silence filled your bubble despite the hubbub outside. You were in public and it was not surprising to meet travelers and Madrid residents mingling with the crowd to enjoy this pleasant evening.
"I wish this trip never ends." You finally said, breaking the silence.
Harry didn't know what to say to that. Instead, he was just looking at you. You were a little tanned, the Madrid sun had done wonders on you; your loose hair framed your face and the summer dress you had chosen for the restaurant looked great on you: It was a short red floral summer dress with a shingle collar. Light enough to keep you from suffocating but decent to wear on any casual occasion. You were beautiful, stunning. His heart exploded at the sight of you, so much that it hurt a few times.
"I wish I had been there for you more." he finally confessed
You finally turned your head towards him and shrug your shoulders, smiling shyly but sincerely.
“You were working, Baz”
“I meant…not only here in Spain. I’m sorry to have let you down recently”
You give him a confused look. He hadn't been a bad friend but he kept implying it. You just shook your head negatively to brush his words away. Harry had always been important to you. He had been the first to step towards you. It was him who introduced you to the rest of the gang. He had always been concerned about you.
The night you met, you immediately clicked up with him. And to be honest, for a moment, you thought he liked you that night. But he never took that step towards you and you never did either. You dreaded that if you kissed him, he would think you were interested in his notoriety by proxy. So you just acted like any reasonable person would - accept the status he gave you. And the second time he asked you to join him with his brother and his friends, you met Harrison and your heart exploded.
"I'm glad you brought me here"
“I'm happy you accepted to come.”
“I didn't really have the choice, Baz” you joked.
He laughed slightly. You weren't wrong, he and Tom had practically dragged you onto the plane, leaving you no choice to be by their side. But you could only thank them, especially Harry who had the idea. You took another hit on your cigarette before leaning back to check out where Tom was with his fans. He seemed to be talking with the girls and didn't seem overwhelmed. So, you didn't want to interrupt him and were just going to wait for him to finish. Harry played with his hands nervously, looking straight ahead and then at you. He seemed to be repeating this game for several seconds before finally asking the question that was in his mind.
“Have you heard from Harrison?” Harry asked quite casually
“He sent me several texts to apologize and wished me to have a good time in Madrid.”
“Do you still have feelings for him?”
You swallow hard before looking at him. There was an indecipherable glint in his eyes and you weren't sure what to make of it. You drew another puff from your cigarette, maybe that would save you from entering this conversation. But Harry's presence was all around you and you couldn't really escape. So you've decided to be honest.
“It’s complicated. I suppose so...”
“Mhmm”
“But my friendship with Haz is important, I don't want to lose him because of it.”
“Yeah, you can't imagine how well I understand you” he sighed
“What do you mean? Who’s the lucky girl..or guy ?”
Harry turned to you frankly and you did the same, stubbing out the half-smoked cigarette. You are well aware that the conversation was taking a more serious turn. He moistened his lips and walked over to you. Harry was full of things: he was full-loving, sarcastic, talented, daring, impertinent. But Harry was mostly awkward when it came to love. Not just an attraction, no, love with real feeling. Delicately, hesitantly, he reached out to your cheek, stroking it with the back of his fingers, cautiously. You were frozen, your eyes fixed on him admiring his audacity.
"She's the most beautiful girl I ever seen." he said with a small smile.
Harry walked over to you and your heart was pounding at breakneck speed. Harry had ... feelings for you? You were really confused. Since when had he developed his feelings? Why didn't he tell you about it? Why hadn't he tried anything so far? So, were you right from the start? Was there a tension between you since the beginning of your friendship, since your met? But above all, did you want him to take that step? Instinctively, your body responded. You parted your lips and closed your eyes. You enjoyed the warmth of his hand on your cheek and were waiting for the touch of his lips. But it never happened.
"Hey baz, y/n..we're going back to the hotel" Tom said, taking his eyes off his phone. "I…Mhmm sorry, did I interrupt something?"

Favorite Sherlock Holmes fics from 2020
Usually I put a bunch of explanations and disclaimers on these lists but you know what, it was a weird year and I’m not going to try to justify or apologize for what I read or didn’t read so here are my favorites that were completed last year, in descending order of length:
and your very flesh shall be a great poem by CaitlinFairchild (151K, E, Johnlock) After a tragic confrontation with terrible consequences, Sherlock and John follow Mary as she flees to America.
Drawn to Stars by Silvergirl (107K, E, Johnlock, Sherlock/OMC) After the Culverton Smith case Sherlock is clean, working, and looking for a romantic partner—since John has told him that’s what he needs. Shame John didn’t mention he was interested in that role himself, before Sherlock went off to Rome with a gorgeous Italian copper to try to fall in love and become a complete human being. (This one is very slightly cheating because it was finished on 30 Dec 2019, but it didn't make it onto my 2019 list because I didn't read it until after I'd made the list. And it deserves to be on a Best Of list, so here it is.)
Thermocline by J_Baillier (83K, M, Johnlock) John "Five Oceans" Watson — technical dive instructor, dive accident analyst and weapon of mass seduction — meets recluse professor of maritime archaeology Holmes. As they head out to a remote archipelago off the coast of Guatemala to study and film its shipwrecks for a documentary, will sparks fly or fizzle out?
Do No Harm by Calais_Reno (79K, T, Johnlock) In 1923, Dr John Watson is on trial for the murder of his lover, Mary Morstan, a writer of popular mysteries. If convicted, he will hang. Sherlock Holmes sets out to prove his innocence, but finds himself more and more infatuated with the handsome doctor, and deeper and deeper inside the bohemian world of London's painters, playwrights, and poets. Will he uncover the evidence needed to acquit him in time?
To Be Human by ohlooktheresabee (78K, NR, Johnlock) There is a serial killer on the loose with a penchant for collecting the brains of his victims. Sherlock, John and Scotland Yard are on the case, but something about the chosen victims has Sherlock on edge. While they piece together the clues that will lead to the killer, John begins to realize that the way his best friend thinks may sometimes be more a hindrance than a help….
immediate and inglorious by simplyclockwork (72K, E, Johnlock) Bodies are showing up in back alleys, with no sign of a struggle, no trace of drugs. If not for the strangulation bruises on their necks and the scythe carved into their left shoulders, they could have died peacefully, in their sleep. With New Scotland Yard dumbfounded by the Grim Reaper Killer case, Sherlock is called in to consult. The more he investigates, the deeper Sherlock finds himself drawn into the work of London's newest serial killer. As his views of good and bad begin to blur, he risks losing himself to a darkness he never imagined. And, even more pressing: where does John Watson, grieving ex-boyfriend of the Grim Reaper's latest victim, fit into all of this?
Curtain Rising by tiger_in_the_flightdeck (61K, E, Johnlock) A disgraced television star is the target of a series of death threats just after a theatre production’s adaptation of The Sound of Music is announced with her as the lead. The suspect list is a mile long and growing, Rosie Watson is in the spotlight, and Sherlock might be getting too fond of his time on stage to focus on the case. With opening night approaching, can he and John figure out who wants their client dead before her final curtain rises?
The Fire Finds a Home by fearfully_beautifully_made (61K, E, Johnlock) After Sherlock and John decide to give having a relationship a go, this is how their relationship starts to develop. There a little bit of plot, if you squint, but it was mostly an excuse to write John and Sherlock having sex in a lot of different ways and learning to love each other.
Borrowed Ghosts by DiscordantWords (57K, M, Johnlock) In the aftermath of the Culverton Smith case, John spent one painfully stilted afternoon hanging out with Sherlock. He counted the minutes, finished his tea, and left for home without ever clearing the air between them. And once he'd left, he found it very hard to go back.
You Might Just as Well Be Blind by ArwaMachine (56K, E, Johnlock) When a serial killer starts targeting couples, Sherlock and John must do what they have to do in order to get to the bottom of things. Unfortunately, John already has a girlfriend. Surely pretending to be in a relationship with Sherlock won't pose any problems with his relationship, will it?
The Broken Tether by J_Baillier (54K, M, Johnlock) Maybe he thinks that you only enjoy his company because of the Work, because of the way his dazzling intellect shines when he's in his element, but the truth is this: it is when he is at his most human, most bare, that you feel closest to him.
how the light gets in by subtext-is-my-division (Quill_A)  (54K, E, Johnlock) Red wine always makes him tipsier than usual and he finds himself saying, the words slurring a bit. “You know, I’ve got to ask. Do you always shoot cabbies for people you barely you know?” John meets his gaze over the rim of his glass, and there’s something there that Sherlock can’t pin down. “Not for everyone,” he says, meaningfully, pointedly, his smile all teeth.
Erosion by saintscully (53K, E, Johnlock) Sherlock’s father falls ill, leaving the surviving family members broken and rudderless. James Sholto shows up in London unexpectedly, his intentions unclear. John has to navigate the consequences of crime, illness and death and their impact on his frayed relationship with Sherlock.
Hold You Like a Weapon by MissDavis (52K, E, Johnlock) Eurus shows up at 221B Baker Street in labour. Things go downhill from there.
Chances Are by Berty (51K, M, Johnlock) Sherlock is spending some time in his mind palace - so far, so normal. But why is John there, why do things keep changing and why are there only two exits from the sitting room at 221B, neither of which seem to go anywhere useful? It's a case like no other for Sherlock Holmes and John Watson.
Sine Nomine by SilentAuror (45K, E, Johnlock) As Mycroft reviews the footage from Culverton Smith's morgue, he revisits his original question: whether John Watson would be the making of his brother, or make him worse than ever. He's come to a conclusion, but decides to give John one last chance. So he gives him a choice.
Cockaigne by HollyShadow88 (38K, E, Johnlock) When John’s contacted by an old uni friend about problems in his new art exhibition, he doesn’t think it will be worth Sherlock’s time. After a glance of the crime scene, however, they’re both pulled into the project in ways John didn’t expect. Will a week of erotic performance art finally be enough to bring them together in the way they both secretly hope? (Spoiler: it’s a tropey fic, of course it will)
Written in Ashes by 88thParallel (37K, M, Johnlock) Sherlock becomes the prime suspect in a homicide case, and recently unearthed memories of his childhood are complicating matters. It's up to John to track down answers — can he help Sherlock before it's too late?
A Desperate Indulgence by LollipopCop (34K, M, Johnlock) John thinks it's 2012 after waking up with amnesia, having no memory of Mary. Sherlock, exhausted from years of tension and hiding his love, pretends they got married instead.
Inhale With Ease by Vulpesmellifera (25K, E, Johnlock) In the years after Vivian Norbury's capture, life seems to work out just as John planned. He's got that respectable job at the surgery and goes home to his wife and child. He joins Sherlock on cases a couple times per week. It's a rhythm he can live with - just enough adrenaline highs to balance out the drudgery of a normal bloke's life. Until a pandemic, and Victor Trevor, arrive in London.
The House on Rue des Boulangers by Berty (24K, M, Johnlock) After being invalided out of the army and without any other prospects, John Watson has relocated to a small town in northern France. Now he has to decide what to do for the rest of his life. One morning there's a mad stranger in his garden chasing a swarm of bees, and it seems John's decision is made.
High Mountain Tea Leaves by disfictional (23K, E, Johnlock) A mountaintop robbery on a Japanese-occupation-era train where the only item stolen was a small case of mysterious tea leaves in a backpack? An ideal Christmas gift, two days late. Sherlock convinces John to travel for tea.
Detours by saintscully (22K, M, Johnlock, Sherlock/OMC) During the better part of the first year following Mary's death and the events at Sherrinford, Sherlock and John are slowly rebuilding their lives and their friendship. All seems (relatively) well and John takes comfort in once again being a father, a doctor and a friend. An unexplained shift in Sherlock's behaviour catches John by surprise, and he begins to worry about his place in his friend's life. John has to examine everything he thought he knew about Sherlock, himself and their relationship in order to win his rightful place yet again.
hands full of matter by simplyclockwork (21K, E, Johnlock) When Sherlock is captured in Serbia, Mycroft cannot afford to involve the British government in his rescue. Instead, he sends John. After two years spent thinking Sherlock was dead, John finds himself navigating not only Sherlock’s rescue but their fractured friendship as well.
The Victim Experience by J_Baillier (16K, T, Gen) A case takes Sherlock and John deep into the seedy underbelly of the haunted attractions industry. With audiences craving more and more intense experiences, is a real murder the next logical step?
On the Fence by BeautifulFiction (13K, T, Johnlock) The murder of the King's College fencing champion leads to revelations about Sherlock's past. Will it be the point that tips them from friends to lovers, or will they remain on the fence?
Plus bonus ACD era:
"Baker Street: The Sleep of Reason": A Memoir by John H. Watson, M.D. by Gaedhal (98K, M, Johnlock, Johniarty) This is a Victorian Era story in the "Sherlock Holmes" (2009) Ritchie-verse. The main characters are Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson and is from the doctor's memoirs. It was written before "A Game of Shadows" so there are differences in this story and film canon, mainly in the person and backstory of one particular character.
The Taste of Truth by sanguinity (25K, T, Johnlock) Two and a half years after Reichenbach, John Watson discovers the magical tree that caused Holmes to fake his death.
The Adventure of the Vatican Cameos by Garonne (18K, E, Johnlock) How should one behave when waking for the first time in the bed of one's dearest friend? Holmes and Watson solve a case in Catholic London while navigating the turbid waters of their new relationship.
Hot Water by wordybirdy (13K, E, Johnlock, Watson/Gregson) Dr. John Watson's libidinous affair with a respected Scotland Yard inspector abruptly judders to a halt when the former meets a certain Mr. Sherlock Holmes, Consulting Detective, for the very first time. The attraction between the two is strongly mutual, but misunderstandings only multiply and tensions abound, as all three men attempt to deal with the new situation.

Reality Check - Chapter 5
Here we are once again!  Check out the #Reality Check Masterlist tag on the bottom if you need the other chapters.  A new masterlist will be created sometime this week! Enjoy! <3 I love you all 3000
Summary: Y/N and Wanda were very close after returning in 2023.  The two bonded over the loss of their partners.  It wasn’t enough to keep Wanda grounded after she found Vision’s body though, and Wanda wants the best for her friend.  Unfortunately for Y/N, this means she’s going to be thrown into a reality she wasn’t expecting.
Notes: Y’all are going to lose your minds.  There are no warnings.  I can’t spoil when we’re this close.  Just know that this has been in mind the entire time.  I couldn’t let you all know the entire plot so early on ;)
Just as you were finishing up breakfast the lights went out.  The only light now was the sun peeking through the windows of the kitchen, illuminating the room with a soft glow.  The bacon was still sizzling in the pan and you groaned.  Suddenly, the water pipe burst in the sink as well, causing water to spray everywhere.  “Can this day get any better?!” You ran over to the water pipes underneath the sink, turning the valves until they shut off completely.
Water continued to drip from the counters, soaking everything near it.  Just as you were grabbing towels Loki walked in, his eyes still showing signs of sleep in them.  “What happened?  I heard you yelp,” He asked, concerned.
“The power went out and the water pipe burst.  A great combination if I do say so myself.”  Your voice was laced with sarcasm as Loki brought a few more towels over, covering the floor and stomping on them to soak up the water.
“Don’t worry about it love, these things happen.” He smiled a little, trying to help you feel better about it.
“Well, look at it this way,” You said, walking over to the other side of the counter.  The plate of pancakes and bacon sat there, perfectly made, unharmed from the water.  “Fate gave us a break with breakfast.” You grinned, holding up the plate to him.  He laughed lightly and pulled out two smaller plates from the cupboard.
“A not-so-perfect start to the day, but a start nonetheless.”
~
You placed the plates in the sink once you were done, completely forgetting that you couldn’t clean them up just yet.  You thought about what you could do and decided it may be best to go see if Wanda or Geraldine were having similar issues.  It would be a chance to get out of the house and find out if the entire neighborhood was having these problems too.
“Loki, I’m going to go out and see if anyone else is having problems.  It could be better than asking an electrician to come over just yet.” You stated, putting your shoes on.  Loki walked over to you before responding.
“Alright, stay safe, my love.” He kissed the top of your head.  You smiled at the affection but you were slightly confused.
“I’m just going out around the neighborhood.  I’ll be alright, I promise,” You laughed a little.  Loki’s concern seemed so out of place for him.  You didn’t remember him ever being that protective of you.  Then again, how long ago would that have been exactly? “What’s got you so worked up lately?”
“It’s nothing much.  It just feels like so much is changing so quickly.  And it feels like you’re changing with it.  Not-” He quickly stopped himself, “Not in that sense.  I mean, it’s changing you in a way that I’m worried will harm you.”
“Things may be changing, but I don’t think it’s a bad thing.  It’s good that there’s change.  Maybe it’s something we need here.” You smiled.  “I’ll see you later, hon.”
You walked out the door and down the street.  Oddly enough, there weren’t many people outside.  Taking a peek into their windows you could see that it was all dark.  Not a single light shone in them, nor did a person walk by.  It was like they were frozen in time.
As you made your way to Wanda’s house, you noticed Agnes and Vision talking.  It looked like Herb was next to Agnes.  The three of them seemed to having a nice discussion as they laughed about something.  What you found odd, however, was the man standing across the street watching them.  His black hair was slicked back and he was in a suit.  It was Scott.
You waved over to him and walked across to say hello.  After the ordeal that went down with him yesterday, a part of you was just drawn to him.  You weren’t sure if you wanted to apologize for being rude or find out what he was going on about.  Either way, he noticed you and smiled, breaking your train of thought.  “Y/N, how lovely to see you.”
“Hey Scott, what’s with the suit?  It’s a Saturday, who goes to work today?” You asked, laughing a little.  He looked down to the ground quickly before meeting your eyes again.  A kind of sadness seemed to loom in his eyes.
“I had to go into the office today to take care of some work.  The boss apparently decided that I needed to get something done by Monday if I wanted a promotion.  It didn’t take long, but it ended with a meeting so I had to make sure I dressed properly.”
“The boss needed you on a Saturday?  Well, I can’t say much, except that I feel sorry for you.”  The two of you shared a laugh which she seemed to catch Agnes’ eye momentarily.  You noticed the quick glance she gave the two of you before resuming her discussion.  “Well, aside from that, how are you doing?”
“Well, I’m... Alright, we can say.  I was actually looking for you, so I’m glad to see you.” He said.  Your head tilted in confusion.
“Me?  Why were you looking for me?”
Something in his eyes seemed to change again.  You couldn’t place your finger on the emotion though.  He hesitated before he responded, as if he was trying to choose his words carefully before replying.  It was like he needed to know what the right answer was to a simple question.  “I wanted to check on you.  Gossip spreads around this town faster than you think.  Agnes had already mentioned you running off from the talent show to me.  I wanted to check on you.”
“Check on me?  Oh, that woman.  She’s so nosy, it drives me up the wall sometimes.  I swear if you ever mentioned what you told me to that woman, she’d let the entire town know in less than sixty seconds,” You shook your head.  He chuckled, nodding in agreement.
“Yes, I know.  That’s why I trusted you with that information and not her.  However... I wanted to apologize for that.  That was a lot I asked from you in such a short amount of time, especially when we had just met.  Could we start over?” He asked.
“Absolutely, Scott.  I wouldn’t want anything else.”  You grinned.
~
“Wanda, are you sure you want to go here?” You asked, looking down at the address she had written down.  She nodded, watching you grab the car keys and pull on a jacket.
“Vision wanted me to go there.  He wanted me to see it.  Even if he’s not there to see it too.”  She looked down dejectedly.  You brought her into a hug before pulling the address up on Google Maps.
“Alright, let’s go see this place.”
The drive itself was quiet, the radio muted as you listened to the directions.  Neither of you spoke a word on the three-hour trip.  It was all the way over in New Jersey, which confused you.  What was so special about this place?
You drove into a town that seemed run down.  People still lived in it, clearly, as you saw them walk down the cracked pavement following the street.  Some sat down in front of restaurants as others spoke in hushed whispers, clearly confused by the visitors coming to their town.
You turned down countless streets that all looked the same.  Houses lined up next to each other with busy lawns, filled with weeds and trees that grew to monstrous heights.  Some of the homes didn’t seem to be very well taken care of, leading you to believe they had been abandoned there for years.  “Are you sure this is it?” You asked her once more, breaking the silence.
“Yes, I’m positive.”  She looked down at a paper that she had finally pulled out ten minutes ago.  You couldn’t look down to see it, but out of the corner of your eye you saw red markings on it.
“If you’re sure.  Then, this is it.”  You pulled up to an empty lot that sat between houses.  You stopped the car, watching her take a deep breath.  You finally looked at what the paper was.  It was a deed for the land.  The red markings were a heart, with a small message from Vision.  You smiled sadly at the note.
“Thank you, Y/N.  Thank you for doing this.” She said, her voice failing her towards the end.  You placed a comforting hand on her shoulder as she unbuckled.
“Do you need some time here alone?  I need to go get gas anyway for when we leave.  I can come pick you up in a few minutes.” You offered.  She contemplated it for a minute before finally nodding.  By the downward turns at the corners of her lips you could tell she couldn’t say anything. She got out of the car wordlessly and walked to the center of the lot.
You drove away, watching her with sad eyes through your mirror.  You knew she needed this moment and you hoped it would only help her move on.
You drove about a mile outside of town to get gas when you noticed the bright burst of energy behind you.  You could only watch in amazement as the red magic filled the air, creating a huge barrier.  You recognize it immediately as Wanda’s magic.
Instead of getting gas you got in the car and drove back to Westview, reaching the barrier.  Its magic swirled and the energy radiating from it was warm, almost trying to drag you in with it.  You walked slowly to the barrier, looking for anyone else around.  There wasn’t a single soul.
You knew you should’ve called someone, anyone, to help you.  You had no idea what this magic would do, but as you pushed your hand through it you knew it was too late.  You were immediately pulled into the barrier and you blacked out.
~
“Y/N, may I ask you a question?” He asked, watching Agnes talk to Vision once again.  You followed his eyes, noticing the strange aura that seemed to float around them.  It looked tense, as if they were about ready to start fighting about something.
“Of course, what is it?” You asked.
“Do you remember the time-” He stopped himself.  “Nevermind, it’s not important.” He saw Agnes look over at him, a deadly glare in her eyes.  Whether it was from fear or anger, her eyes seemed to send a chill down his spine involuntarily.  “I should get going.  There is some more business I must take care of and I’m sure you were on your way somewhere too.”
“Oh, yes!  I was going to see if Wanda or Geraldine had power.  It seems like the power went out in a few parts of the street, so there’s your warning.  You may go back to a dark house!” The two of you shared a laugh.
“I’ll keep that in mind, thank you.” He began to walk away as you walked across the street.  Vision and Agnes were tense, so maybe you could break the ice.
“Hey neighbors, how are you all doing?” You asked.  They turned to you, their faces breaking out in wide smiles.
“Hi hon, what are you doing all the way over here?” She asked.
“I wanted to see if Wanda was having any issues with the power as well.  It seems like something knocked out the power down the street.” You smiled.  Agnes nodded understandingly.
“Unfortunately my house got knocked out too.  I just got it back though, so you may be in luck when you get home,” She turned to Herb once she finished her statement.
“Well either way, hello Vision, how are you doing?” You asked, turning to him now that Agnes clearly didn’t want to talk anymore.
“I’m doing just fine, Y/N, thank you for asking.  Well, I could be better.” He said, looking over to the house momentarily.
“Why’s that?  Something wrong at home?”
“Well, no not exactly.  Wanda was pregnant and she just had our two sons, Billy and Tommy.” He said it proudly, but then his mood took a turn.  “I’m just not prepared for it.  I’m worried something will go wrong.”
“Wanda was pregnant?!” Was the first thing to come out of your mouth.  The last time you saw her was just yesterday and she wasn’t showing at all.  How did it happen so quickly?
“Yes, she was.  It was a surprise to us all, I can assure you of that.  A happy surprise, of course,” He chuckled, trying to ease his worries himself.
“Oh, don’t start with that Vision.  This will be wonderful!  You two have an even bigger family now.  And you know everyone around here is going to be super supportive of you two the entire time.  We’re all neighbors, we’re here to help whenever you need it.”
He smiled, looking at the ground.  “Thank you very much, Y/N, it means a lot.  Wanda and I will probably need it every once in a while.  Handling one son would be a handful, but handling twin boys will be a challenge we didn’t expect.”
“It’s nothing you guys won’t be able to handle, I’m sure.  Is she feeling alright?  Could I go see her?”
“Oh yes, absolutely.  I’m sure she would be delighted to see you,” He smiled, stepping aside.  “I have to discuss something with Agnes anyway, so I will see you inside.”
You smiled and nodded, walking into the home.  There you saw Wanda and Geraldine holding the babies.  “Well isn’t this a joyful surprise,” You commented.  Wanda turned around quickly, her eyes lighting up at your presence.
“Y/N!  Welcome, come in, come in,” She smiled, looking down at Billy in her arms.  “I want you to meet my boys, Billy and Tommy.”
Geraldine smiled softly and handed Tommy to you.  His eyes were shut but you could tell he looked just like a perfect mix of Wanda and Vision.  He fit in your arms perfectly, snuggled in his blanket.  “They’re beautiful, Wanda.”
Tommy slowly woke up, his bright eyes staring up at you in curiosity.  You were surprised to see newborns be so active, but what did you know about babies?  Maybe they’re just a little different.
He stuck one of his arms out of the blanket, pressing his hand up against his eye as he slowly woke up, trying to rub the tiredness out.  He cooed a little and you could see the love in Wanda’s eyes as he did.  “Hey there, little guy,” You smiled, holding up your hand near him.  When you placed your pinky in his hand he immediately grasped it.  It was such a simple act that made your heart skip a beat.
You giggled and slowly moved your finger away from him.  “Oh, Y/N, could you please go grab something from my bedroom upstairs.  I have a book up there on the shelf.  It’s the second door on the right.  It’s a baby book and I want to know what else to expect from these two,” She said, pointing up the stairs.
You nodded.  “Of course!  Here, Geraldine, can you take Tommy?” You gave her Tommy and started making your way upstairs.
You found the door and entered.  It was a simple room.  The bed had a dark frame with white sheets.  The red comforter was tucked in neatly and the pillows were underneath.  The bedside tables had matching lamps, a clock on one side.  To the right you could see a closet hidden by two doors.  A bookshelf stood next to the closet.  That must have been the shelf you needed.
The bookshelf was littered with different colored books of all sizes.  One was a dictionary, another was a fiction novel, another seemed to be on some sort of philosophy.  It was almost like you could pinpoint whose book was whose.
The one book stood off to the side.  A baby blue cover, a little binkie on the front.  The title was simply “What to Expect: The First Year.”  It had a small red glow around it, much like the items in the store just yesterday.  You picked the book up and the glow dissipated.  You flipped through the pages lightly while beginning to walk out of the room.
You stopped in your tracks when you heard a loud crash come from downstairs.  You ran towards the stairs, hiding immediately when you saw the large hole created in the wall.  Wanda stood across from it, the eerie red glow surrounding her hands.  It had to have been Geraldine who had gone flying through the wall.  She wasn’t there anymore and the hole was large enough for a person.
You watched in amazement as Wanda began moving her hands around, the wall repairing itself.  It was like magic.  The red glow faded from her hands and she straightened out her dress.  She turned back towards the twins.
To avoid raising suspicion, you began walking down the stairs.  “I found it!” You said, handing the book over to her.  She smiled and thanked you for it, opening the book to a specific chapter.  “Where’s Geraldine?” You asked, looking around innocently.
“She had to go.  She didn’t belong.”
Oh yeah.  You have to get out of there.

Scott walked up to the house, knocking on the door.  He straightened out his suit as he waited for an answer.  This had to be the right house.  No other house was like it on the street.  If it wasn’t, he was about to be in big trouble by the boss.
Loki opened the door, a gentle smile on his face.  “Hello-” He was immediately cut off as Scott walked in, taking his shirt collar.  He shut the door and slammed Loki up against it.  Loki’s eyes widened at the action.  “What are you doing?”
A knife was quickly placed against his neck.  Scott glared at the man before him with steely eyes.  “Who are you?”
“And why are you pretending to be me?”
