shiv's motivations for voting to pass the gojo deal are so layered and i don't think they should be dismissed in favour of any one interpretation. shiv desperately grabbed on to a lifeline for her relationship with tom. shiv was the deciding vote and she couldn't bear to hold the crown only for a moment just to place it atop her brother's head. shiv knew she would have more influence as wife of CEO rather than sister of CEO. shiv absolutely hated seeing kendall crystallize into logan before her eyes, especially when he made roman bleed ("and if we did kill him we get to go to bed") -- succession has always been about siblings so of course she tried to free her brothers before her child. shiv still thinks she can raise her child with all the material benefits of being the daughter of waystar CEO while doing better by her, whatever that means. and all of those things are true

my favorite thing about revolutionary girl utena is that finishing it changes you fundamentally as a person and both you and the characters will be haunted by the narrative and its impact forever. my second favorite thing about revolutionary girl utena is that one episode where nanami nearly gets her shit rocked by a renegade boxing kangaroo on school property

kurt was FANTASTIC in this episode and i need to rant about it for a moment. for my mental health.

x men 97 does a great job of pulling on your heartstrings, and kurt contributes heavily to that. he continues to be the heart of the group and scenes like this continue to emphasize that. i love him so much.

and don't even get me STARTED on the fight scenes inside the mansion??? just look at his expression!

my man is about to COOK. he's serving us a five star michelin meal and i had to replay this fight sequence about three times before i could move on with the rest of the episode.

the animation for x men 97 has always been a delight, but seeing action sequences like the one inside the mansion is just *chef's kiss,* every flip and spin kurt does is so elegant and smooth. he's shown to be a consistently warm and gentle character, which is part of what makes him so lovable, but seeing him fight is always a pleasant surprise and reminds us that he's a much bigger threat than he appears to be. three sword style kurt wagner is magnificent. instant shot of dopamine to the brain.

they actually animated the inside (inside??) of kurt's teleportation. the sound effect they use for it is music to my ears tbh. the way the scene slows down and it feels like you're being stretched thin as time ceases to exist, only for the scene to return to normal once kurt stops his teleportation!! poetic cinema!!

there's so much more i could talk about but let me just say that i could never be part of the x-men because the minute i'd see kurt all semblance of rational thought is going out the window. would i risk it all for this man? yes. would i die in the process and be okay with that? absolutely. anyway, 10/10 episode. 100/10 character.

There's something about like. A certain genre of posts / Online Opinions about insecurity/depression/misery/complaints that are so unhelpful that they wrap right around to being straight up hilarious. and it's the ones that are more or less written to the tone of "Feeling bad? That's gross!" Like, just so you know, don't voice your insecurities/ have low self esteem, because that's offputting! You're gross and weird. Don't be insecure about that, though. That would be stupid if you felt insecure about people disliking you for being insecure. Not attractive. You should be thinking about being as attractive as possible. You shouldn't make comments about suicide, even if you're suicidal! Keep those thoughts entirely to yourself. Make sure nobody around you knows you're thinking about this. It would Make Them Uncomfortable. It's better to keep these thoughts in your head where they can fester. Don't post OR talk to friends with complaints about you feeling miserable or depressed. Tbh people who are sad/upset a lot? Kinda a red flag! You are probably miserable because you're a bad person and you've brought this on yourself. If you don't have friends, it's because you're awful to be around. Easy! Solved the problem for you. And no, there is no nuance to this, got it? So, make sure to feel bad about feeling bad, but don't feel bad about it, because, well, that's just gross. And annoying! Like sure, we haven't gotten like a Moria flashback, but you know, he literally told us all we needed to know himself, AND we got to see glimpses of him in the Wano flashbacks. Arlong didn't get a flashback of his own, but he did get to cameo in Fisher Tiger's flashback. And Rob Fucking Lucci got a flashback that was 6 whooping panels long

BUT CROCODILE?? Not only do we know almost Fuck All about his story, but also have never gotten as much as a glimpse at it? But his backstory has been HINTED and TEASED at multiple times??
