whats your opinion on vulture culture?

Vulture Culture is Cool!

It's a neat way of making a space more interesting while showing off your hobby. Not to mention it doesn't require actually killing the animal yourself.

I won't lie- I have no love for taxidermy. The idea of trying to make dead things look alive is fine for humans, but weird for animals methinks. I don't hate it or anything, I just don't enjoy it that much as a concept.

I way more like the collecting and displaying of bones and skeletons! I want to learn how to turn manky bones that you find into more finalized pieces. Maybe the bones thing is just my werewolf side bleeding through haha. It's something I could feasibly do though because: A: bird bones are buried all over our garden. No I don't know why. B: We own a cat, unrelated to the bird bones, that sometimes kills them. Whike I usually feel kinda bad about that I wouldn't mind preserving their skeletal remains if I knew how!

In summary? Vulture culture cool, taxidermy not my thing, and I L O V E bones

Due to recent issue with some people arguing about how ‘AO3 should have algorithm’ and such... I feel like these tweets need to be shared out more. Saw this tweets thread by chance and I had to admit it's a great advice esp on fic writing or fanworks in general.

it is so extremely underutilized that Nico is heavily implied to have powers of just. anything ghosts are reportedly able to do.

we know canonically that he can drop temperatures to freezing/to the point where it creates frost, and does so involuntarily or unknowingly at times. We know he can project emotions and memories out onto others, just in general and with physical force - both his own memories/emotions and general emotions as well, such as radiating an aura onto his enemies so that they would fear him more. We know it's heavily implied he can straight up create illusions and inflict madness upon others. We know he's eerily silent when he moves and seems to just appear in places. We know he can control/walk through/mess with dreams. We know he can become intangible and pass through solid objects and terrain without even realizing it.

like, that alone is so much! but the fact that it's implied that's not it? there's MORE?

Where's Nico fucking with EVPs and speaking through radios or static or TV. Throwing his voice. Nico remotely setting things on and off, or draining batteries, or making cell service fuzz out. i’m about to start gatekeeping interacting with fic authors from a lot of y’all. u need to learn how to behave

“i need more” “pls continue this” “when are you posting the next bit” why don’t you try showing some proper appreciation for what’s already written before you go demanding more!!!

​a lot of time and energy goes into each piece of writing and it is incredibly disappointing for the primary feedback to be “give me more!” if you’re trying to motivate authors to continue, this kind of response has the opposite effect.

let me break it down for you.

How To Leave A Comment Without (Unintentionally) Sounding Like A Pri- [GUNSHOT]

point out a few specific things you liked about the fic and why. how it made you feel.

highlight a line or two or three that stuck out to you.

if it’s an incomplete work, express excitement at seeing where they’re going — without a demand for more.

it’s quite simple, and it doesn’t even have to be a long thing. this can be done in a hundred words or less.

and yeah, it takes effort. takes a bit of time. but fandom is about mutual support. it’s about community.

fic authors are not celebrities who don’t even see your attempts to get their attention. there is a real person on the other side of that screen living a real life, and if you want to encourage them in their craft and properly motivate them to write, try treating them like a fucking human being.

authors put in hours to create content (that only ends up not being truly appreciated). i think you can spare a few minutes to leave a detailed, thoughtful comment in turn.

What’s the difference between head of character animation, animation APM, animation lead, senior animator, animation supervisor, animation coordinator, animator, etc. ? I know it depends on the studio, so what were the differences in your experience?

where i work:

head of character animation (HOCA): one person that oversees the entire animation team and is in charge of the overall look of the anim style. presents shots to the director(s)

supervising animator: manages a smaller team of leads and animators. oversees entire sequences and gives creative direction. reports to the hoca

lead animator: works closely with the supervising animators to help manage their team. more of a mentor role, helping their animators with technical questions/workflow/troubleshooting/general anim advice

senior animator: highest level of animator, after junior and intermediate

animation APM (associate production manager): oversees the team of animation coordinators and manages schedules/notes/deliveries/communication between departments/so many other things

animation coordinators: absolute heroes, perfect angels, would be nowhere without them, etc. they keep track of the shots and numbers and all the kinds of stuff that hurts the average animation brain

A handful of tutoring sessions with your beloved little boys had gone by. Scott, ever the obedient of the two, was there everyday. Sam, on the other hand, was absent the majority of the time. Per his request, you push your middle finger into him first, drawing a loud whine and a shudder from him. You smile and stroke your other hand up and down his back to soothe him. “Shh, easy, Scotty,”

You knew he hated that nickname - he had confided in you about his mother, about what she does, and how she always calls him Scotty. You couldn’t help yourself. He was always so pathetic when he whined to you, telling you to not call him that. ’It makes me feel gross’ he would tell you. ’Like she’s right here with me’. Every time he would cry into your chest about his horrendous home life, you would just comb your fingers through his curls and  murmur sweet nothings to him until he calmed down.

He lets out a soft sob at the nickname, arching his back as your fingers press against his prostate. You were always so gentle with Scott compared to his brother. Scott was a compliant boy, whereas you had to break Sam in. He was so aggravatingly defiant, always challenged authority and made a point to break every goddamned rule that was set. You had no choice but to ‘tame’ Sam.

“‘S too- haa,” you just smile as Scott slurs his words, continuing to massage his prostate. As you do so, the classroom door slams open. You look up and smirk at the flabbergasted look on Sam’s face. When his brother realized what had happened, he tried to explain himself. Alas, it was all for naught - it wouldn’t have made Sam forget this sight. His mouth was agape and his eyes were wide. “Sam!” Scott says, catching his breath.

“Oh, what the fuck?” Sam yells. You smile and make a ‘come here’ motion with your finger.

Not knowing what compelled him to do it, Sam stepped forward to the two of you. His brother’s cheeks were flushed pink, a tiny streak of drool making its way down his chin, dropping onto the paper below him. “Sammy- Sammy,” Sam shudders, gripping the strap of his messenger bag. “Don’t fucking… I don’t know. You sound like a little bitch, man.”

Scott squirms about on the desk, and you pull your fingers out of him. Knowing what to do, Scott opens his mouth with his tongue out like a good boy, and takes your fingers into his mouth. Sam grimaces. “Fuckin’ ew…”

You smile at Sam. “See what happens to your brother? He gets treated well. He’s a good boy.” You look down at him. “Aren’t you Scotty?” The poor boy nods, pulling off your fingers. “A good boy, mama.”

Upon hearing his brother refer to you as ‘mama’, Sam rubs a hand over his face and makes noises of frustration. He was conflicted - the sight of his sexy teacher domming someone was one thing, but it was his brother. But at the same time, his brother was a little bitch, and that made it all the more hot.

“Come here, Sammy.” You coax, your words honeyed. “I want you to watch. Take your brother as an example. Let him teach you.”

Sam hesitantly shuffles closer, setting his bag down onto a desk nearby. “What the hell, dude?” he whispers to himself, sitting back on the same desk he had his bag on. He watches, unable to look away from the scene before him.

Scott turns over, now sitting on the desk, and you press a soft kiss to his cheek, hand wrapping around his shaft. "Let's show Sam what a good boy you can be, Scotty."

He nods, beginning to squirm again as his sensitive cock is stroked. Sam scrunches his nose, his eyes fixed on your hand pleasuring his brother. What Is Vegan Leather Made Of? Many Plant Leathers Are Being Used (greenmatters.com)

Yes, plant leather is a great idea (not better than animal leather, in my personal opinion, but that's down to each individual's thoughts on the matter). But unfortunately much of it just can't replicate many of real leather's beneficial properties- and a lot of plant leathers heavily involve plastic in their production. (source)

Look, ALL clothing production needs to be more sustainable at this point. The chemicals involved in tanning actual leather, unless it's organic leather, aren't good for the environment either. And I will never rag on someone for their choice to avoid real leather- we're all just trying, I hope, to make the best choices according to our values and within the confines of a broken system (as long as we're not hurting anyone else). For me, the massive habitat loss and environmental destruction caused by plastics production and waste is a greater evil than the deaths of individual animals in the production of meat and/or leather. So I choose real leather and try to make each piece last as long as I can, aware that any choice I make will have environmental impacts and is not perfect. Someone else might see it differently, and I really am not in a position to judge their choices.

However.

The term "vegan leather" is blatant greenwashing, and 99% of the time it applies to plastic. If people prefer to wear plastic to avoid real leather, that's fine, but they- and moreover companies -need to be honest about that. Just like synthetic fabrics should be called plastic, so should synthetic leather. Even some of the allegedly "plant-based" stuff, it turns out.

I'm honest that my real leather is animal hide. Time for the faux-green fashion industry to display some honesty of its own.

I think it’s easy to underestimate the enormity of Beatrice’s decision to try and place the crown on Ava.

It happens in a flash, it’s followed by The Kiss (which is everything). I think some viewers might even have missed she was holding the crown at all.

And so much happens and events spiral so quickly, it’s easy to forget where in the story Beatrice stands at this point.

Beatrice does not know the specifics of Adriel’s plan. At this point in the story, the OCS’ best guess is Adriel will use the portal to bring through unlimited wraith demons. 

That’s the stakes for them: complete the mission or face a full on demon apocalypse. It’s literally “do this or the world ends.”

And Beatrice has lost so much. She’s lost Shannon just months ago, she’s lost Mary, Vincent betrayed them, to all appearances they’ve lost Lilith to Adriel for good. More of her closest family have died or abandoned her than not.

What more could the universe take from her?

And then the universe points at Ava and says “that one.”

You know those few months you got to spend away from the thick of battle? The short breath of time where you tasted life? Where you fell in love? Where you let yourself believe that — just maybe — happiness was possible? I want that. I want the person at the center of that, I want the one who gave you that.

Beatrice says no.

Putting the crown on Ava is not a discussion. It’s not a reassessment of the plan. It’s putting her unconscious to get her out. It’s aborting the mission.

The mission to save the world, where failure means wraith demons everywhere and most likely a literal apocalypse, and Beatrice says “No.”

Not if the cost is her.

Because how just is a world that keeps demanding this kind of suffering and sacrifice? There has to be another way for the world, because if there isn’t, she will not save it.

Not at this cost.
