I feel like I should give a little context to these comics and where they come from lol. I wasn't very clear about the backstory in my original post. I do agree, when I found these, I thought they were super important, too, particularly because I don't think a lot of the fandom knows about these books lol.

The Danganronpa 4コマ KINGS anthology series was published in the early 2010's featuring a bunch of different artists. The series is 4 volumes long and published by Spike Chunsoft, meaning, while these aren't necessarily canon, they ARE official :)

There is another series of anthologies in relation to both the first and second games, but I don't have those.

The first two volumes of this series is relatively well documented. There are sites where English translations have already been added to all of the comics in them (I'm pretty sure), as well as some screenshots popping up on places like Pinterest.

The third and fourth installments, however, are really poorly archived. The third has some content from it floating around, but it's hard to come by. The fourth had almost no information on it no matter where I searched.

I say this because a while ago I found the ONLY pictures of the Mastermind!Taka comic on this really old Tumblr blog from 2014 and REALLY wanted to figure out what it was about. (Didn't help that I couldn't read some of the bubbles in those photos.) First I searched for an English translation (there wasn't (so I'm working on one hehe)), then I tried to find which book it was even from, and NOTHING!

These books, since they were in circulation around 2014-ish, have stopped being printed, so copies of them are very hard to come by. Luckily, I was able to get my copies from a kind stranger on Ebay :)

The irony of people jumping your shit for promoting the "Oc agenda". Lol. Lmao, even. Like, yes, we do love Ocs here. Yusuke may not be mine or your or anyone's Oc except Yoshihiro Togashi's, but we do like him. Same with Kuwabara, Kurama, Hiei— All of these wonderful characters are neat *Ocs* and I'm down for you promoting them in your "agenda". Any other Ocs that you throw into the Oc hotpot are like extra seasoning, and if people can't handle the added spice then it's on them to not eat it.

In the end, backlash to innocuous comments about fandom are most often a form of self-consciousness on display.

People come to fandom for validation. When they think they're about to get validation, and then they don't, it makes them feel insecure about their preferences. They take innocuous comments personally because they perceive them as a value judgment, even if they are not intended to be so.

When people mock OCs in front of me, I just mute or block and move on with my life. I don't engage. I see it all the time, but I don't let it impact me. I don't let it drive me away from a fandom. (And I do not reach out to blogs who haven't expressed interest in OCs for recommendations or validation, either.)

We have to curate our own experiences. If people don't like ocs, they are free to curate a fandom space that does not have them in it. It's no skin off my nose, and it should be no skin off their noses if I decide to curate a fandom space that does not include shipping canon characters.

I don't know that anyone's noticed this, but I intentionally left off the shipping tag when I made that post. I did not want to put my opinions into that specific space within the fandom. I have a right to express myself on my blog, but I wasn't about to inject my opinion directly into the tag when I knew I wasn't validating the emotions of the people within it. That's why it's very odd to me that people are interpreting what I said as negative, because I took multiple active measures to make sure I was honoring people who do like that ship, and I avoided talking about the ship itself very much on purpose. But if people want to interpret what I was saying in a really negative way, or as a targeted value judgement of their preferences, that's on them. If they want to commit themselves to anger, that is their right.

I'm just going to be over here writing myself shameless insert fics and letting judgments roll off my back, because as a self-insert writer, that's what you have to do to survive.

1. How many works do you have on Ao3? 66! More than I thought were on there tbh!

2. What’s your total Ao3 word count? Uhhh apparently it's 684,757! Less than I thought!

3. What fandoms do you write for? In order of most fics to least: Ace Attorney, JSHK, My Hero Academia, Mob Psycho 100, Homestuck, Hunter x Hunter, Phineas and Ferb, and Supernatural. I've also written a lot of Pokemon stuff, but somehow that has escaped Ao3 despite it being my longest fandom LOL. Working on a Pokemon SV one currently though 👀

4. What are your top five fics by kudos? Project: Matchmakers (shocker, I know), Sleep (Too) Tight (It's always been slowly but steadily popular), Force of Habit (bit of a surprise there honestly), Project: Matrimony (less surprising), and The Stuff of Dreams. So what I am seeing here is that no one leaves kudos on my JSHK or MP100 or MHA fics :') Some of these fics are one-shots, so it's kind of surprising! I wish PlayWright had gotten more attention; that fic killed me while I was writing it. I'm not giving number of kudos because I'm not comfortable with that and it makes me feel bad about myself haha,,,

5. Do you respond to comments? I try to! I've fallen behind on responding to them in the past 2 years or so because life has been so busy, though…

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Probably A Practice, For Now?? LMAO it's also my first JSHK and the one with the most kudos HMM COULD THIS FANDOM BE ADDICTED TO ANGST PERHAPS??! I don't write angst a lot!! What can I say, I'm a sucker for a happy ending.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Almost all of my fics end happily, LOL. Pick any of them that actually has an ending.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Not commonly. I've gotten anon hate before about them on tumblr on rare occasions, but usually my comments on ao3 stay pretty nice.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I do sometimes, but I'm so shy about it that I rarely ever post it /)//w//(\ Usually I just share it among friends, haha!

10. Do you write crossovers? Nope, and I never will!

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Yes. Someone tried to run Project: Matchmakers through a translator to hide the word matches and sell it as an ebook on Amazon, but they only bothered to hide it for chapter 1 so someone reported it to me and then in retaliation I started actually selling it on Amazon for the lowest price I could because the thief was trying to sell the shittier version for like 7 dollars LSFJ;AKLD. 12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes, quite a few! People have been great about asking me for permission! 💖

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes, here and there! Usually it's either fics where I have written one part and someone else has written another scene, or someone had me look over something they'd written and I added so much commentary or threw additional ideas at them so much that the story ended up changing and I somehow became a co-author, LOL.

14. What’s your all time favorite ship? Oh my god don't make me answer that ;alskdjfl;k. If I wrote a fic for them ever, they're my favorite. I have so many favorites that I've never written fics for, too.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? THE UNDERCOVER FIIIIIC [sobs] and also Left on Read hnnngh

16. What are your writing strengths? Emotions!! I'm super good at those! I'm also really strong at dialogue and banter, and making my writing kinda witty/funny.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Describing settings ;w; I write my scenes like I draw my art: in Descriptionless Blank Voids lkas;dlkf. I also struggle with the flow of action scenes sometimes, though I think they usually turn out okay if I spend enough time on them. I also probably use too many adverbs and adjectives, but y'know what? Fuck it I like my descriptive words thank you very much

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? As long as you're checking that it means what you think it means, or possibly asking a native speaker if you're unsure about context or need a sensitivity reader, I think it's fine. It annoys me if I have to check a footnote every other line, but if you can mostly understand it without a translation in context, it can be kinda nice! At least it says you're trying more than phonetically spelling out an accent, which--remember, kids!--is always cringe! 👍

19. First fandom you wrote for? On Ao3, it was Homestuck. On the internet in general, it was Animal Crossing and Pokemon, LOL.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written? Don't make me cHOOSE BETWEEN MY BABIESSS 😭 I dunno man! Project: Matchmakers is my magnum opus, but the PlayWright is lowkey kind of a masterpiece, I love so many of my JSHK fics to bits and pieces, a lot of my MP100 and MHA fics are very special to me, I've been trying to write a HxH one for YEARS and have poured my heart into making it beautiful, just UGHHH every single one of my fics I have vivid memories of conceptualizing and working on and most of them are my favorite to some degree!

Set during canon and written whilst the manga was still being published; this is my 'I fucking called it' fic because certain plot points ended up actually being canon lol

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Yes! Comments bring me life! The way I see it, if someone takes a moment to leave a comment - be it an emoji, a few words, or an entire essay, in any language - there's no reason I shouldn't take the time to show my appreciation for that by replying.

What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Love is Over Boueibu, Akoya/Arima, Rated T It's not all that angsty in comparison to angsty scenes in other fics I've written, but it's the angstiest ending.

People can think what they want, I know sometimes I walk a thin line when it comes to the "happy" bits or I sometimes make characters a little more unlikeable (I mean I consider it more realistic) but I sometimes get push back on it. Usually it's when I'm doing Irondad and they are like aren't father/son within seconds of seeing each other, lol. Opps, sorry I like realism in my superhero fics!

On Edge of Your Name, some people found Charlie unrealistic but I didn't think so at all.

Yes! Slash mostly but I've done het and femslash in the past.

But we do NOT need to send death threats, things with smutty themes, etc. Into a celebrities ask box all because they're gonna be on this site.

They're people just as much as we are. If you don't like them, theres a handy-dandy feature called "blocking and moving on". Not writing rude messages. Not saying "Blazing a post is a pvp attack". (Because god forbid an artist use a feature to be seen)

I understand not wanting big corps to make their way on Tumblr. Believe me, I do. However Tumblr's advertising (or at least on mobile) is easilly skippable/you can scroll past or actually look at the ad if its somewhat interesting.

Also, Tumblr sells shoelaces for 19 dollars. That should only be like three dollars, but it shows that it really does need the money. (@indigoartistqueen mentioned that, along with other various things in this article) Such as paying programmers to create new features. Paying artists to create new logos and themes. paying the employees that check out the reports. (which I am rlly sorry for them bc I just so happen to keep finding really rude comments or things shipping an 8 year old with an 1000 year old.)

So, if tumblr got a little more money, then merch will cost less. Features will cost less. You can crab someone for less for goodness sakes. (Speaking if which, if you REALLY hate a celeb that badly, run them off with crabs.) But tumblr, just like any other site and app, NEEDS money to keep it running.

Also, don't you think SOME form of algorithm will be good? Or at least better search results? Because artists do tend to use very different tags. (Like memes, funny, lmao, lol, etc.) All that could be grouped under "Funny" so that people can actually find and search for their content easier.

Not to mention that with the way the tumblr staff are, I highly doubt they're gonna be implementing things that will cause a riot from their supporters, like the algorithm, bc the blogs ARE the algorythm, reblogging stuff they like to spread it out.

But just a better tagging system! i myself have stopped posting art as much because I just DON'T get seen! People just don't like or reblog my work, but if I were to blaze it, I would suddenly have 1,000 notes full of threats and "this is a pvp attack. Everybody block on sight."

Now, getting back to the celebrity thing. So many people have said that they don't want any political opinions to divide this site. Well I'd hate to break it to you, but we have, in some form, a type of political dispute. Usually its over the type of view one should have on a fiction character. How you can interpret them. What headcanons are correct. Which fandoms better. Which characters hotter. I could go on over the disputes! Plus the political side of tumblr! Science side of tumblr! Religous site on tumblr!

It never ends! If you don't like a celebrity, DON'T SEND DEATH THREATS TO THEIR ASK BOX! Some will actually commit it! Instead, BLOCK. THEM. It's easy! Don't pay attention to it! Just block them. If you really don't like them, send a cursed image, like I don't know, Patrick Star in stripper heels! A perfect circle thats slightly off! Do NOT send threats, because they're humans just like you! (Or as a Fairy myself, xenogenders as well)

Point is, quit trying to run celebrities off this site all because you're afraid of contriversal opinions that you don't agree with! Just block them! It's there for a reason! It's not like roblox where you can only block 100 people total!

Use the block feature. Don't fight fire with fire. It will ONLY get worse. You don't see firemen using flamethrowers, do you??? No! Please for the LOVE OF WHOEVER OR WHATEVER YOU BELIEVE IN quit spreading hate! It only makes things worse! You're only making yourself worse! Just because tumblr is an anonymous site does not mean you can do whatever you want... Because guess what? There's other humans right behind that post you just saw! (Unless its a bot ofc, that's a different story for another time)

This Is Home - Critical Role, Widomauk/Fjorester/BeauYasha, Domestic slice of life.

I Will Endure - Critical Role, Widomauk, background Yashagard, Canon Divergence.

Forgiveness - Critical Role, Genfic, a bit of catharsis that still ended up happening in game just not the way i first envisioned it.

Boy, Oh Boy - Critical Role, Genfic, modern au.

All of these were done for a discord event several years ago.

I do, I make an effort to respond to every one I get. Only exceptions being a couple "moar plz" "when's the next chapter?" type ones that I just deleted.

You ask me, a bisexual, to make a choice? Lol. Lmao, even. I do not have a One True Pairing, I have learned the mature art of multishipping like a goddamn adult.

OOF well this is a tie between Sometimes Goodbye and A Thistle's Thorns, both being all but abandoned due to fandom drift and loss of motivation. I found the original outline I had (thankfully) written out for Sometimes Goodbye, and I have started another BL2 playthrough, but FFXIV has eaten my life at this point so idk if I'll ever come back to it properly.

Show don't tell, detail descriptions, I have been told my characterisation through dialogue has been consistently on point (which is a relief), worldbuilding

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I haven't had this particular problem yet, but I will once I start writing stuff for Stormblood, because Kitali is multilingual.

When I'm reading it, though, I prefer to just have a dialogue tag indicating which language is being spoken and then either a bold, italics, or both to show what's being spoken in what language. It saves me the trouble of scrolling back and forth and back and forth from the notes at the end of the chapter or trying to remember what was said where exactly and in what context.

I've added some of my thoughts as to why this is happening below (put under the cut to not smack you with a wall of text lol). TLDR is at the end if you just want to read that. Let me know your thoughts if you have them! :)

About CoD (btw all of this disregards my artistic ability, I'm just talking about fandoms right now)

The art I make for CoD is based on the newest game and focuses on how cool/hot the characters look, with little to no depth to the art otherwise. This attracts the Ghost simps (myself included lol) to like the post and possibly look at it later, but not really do much more than that

The above point happens because 1) the newest CoD game is very VERY fresh, like not even a month old, so it doesn't really have an actual fandom yet, and 2) the CoD games have a huge bubble of influence on society (much more than mcyt). These two factors mean more people will dip their toes into CoD fanmade content, but not really stay for long. A large portion of the new fans will slide in, do a mass liking spree, and leave when the hype is over. Some new people, like me, will stick around and become part of the fandom :)

The people in the actual CoD fandoms (who have been interested in the various CoD games for years) might like my art and reblog it because they appreciate it (thank you if you do :D), but my art isn't really for their game/fandom. Those fandoms are strong and thriving, but they're small compared to the huge influx of people obsessed with Ghost right now lol

An example of this artificial inflation is the notes on my art of Ghost/Roach. The people who reblogged with tags were very happy to see it and were very kind (thank you!), but the post got less notes than my other CoD art because all of these new Ghost enjoyers have no idea who Roach is lmao (or just don't like Ghost/Roach)

There aren't a lot of reblog chains in the CoD screenshot above because most people who reblogged my post weren't seeing it on their dash already reblogged from someone else. Most of them likely searched for the tags I used on my post and saw the original in the search feed

HC's been around for what feels like forever and trends on tumblr and twitter a few times a year, which is a MUCH bigger influence than most fandoms out there. The bigger the fandom is, the more people will be interested in reblogging and talking about people's posts instead of just liking them and moving on

I'm established within the fandom, with around 2.5 years of HC-related content under my belt. This entire time, since 2020, I've seen the same friendly faces reblog my content (thank you, you know who you are :D) alongside new people. When you post for a long time in the same fandom, people start to remember you. You become part of the fandom itself, a contributor instead of just a consumer, and people start to reblog more

Because I and a lot of my mutuals/followers are in the HC fandom together, it's very likely that a lot of people will see my art on their dash already reblogged from someone else instead of seeing the post from me directly. That's why the HC screenshot above has so many crazy reblog chains - someone reblogged my art, and then someone else who also likes my art reblogged from them instead of me

TLDR; my CoD posts get a lot of notes, but not a lot of reblogs, because the horny hype train is real and I jumped on it at the right time. My HC posts (at least some of them) get a lot of notes AND reblogs because the fandom is large and I've established myself within it here on tumblr

I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT JIN'S EMAIL TO HER IN TEK 4 LMAO orz I'm sorry. But yeah I agree with you. I also think he didn't tell her all the details likely for those reasons. But he told her enough to warn her and give her an idea of what kind of person Heihachi was. Which makes her attitude in Tekken 5 all the more confusing. I'm guessing Jin was so confused because he swore he had told her Heihachi was a pos, still does and yet here she is trying to go back in time lol. I think that's the game where things start to get worse with the writing. Granted Tekken has never had top writing but still. It actually makes me a bit sad because I was introduced to the games with 5 and I'm very fond of it (bc nostalgia but anyway)

A lot of shit happens in the Tekken series, and it makes it easier to forget it when the game's plagued with inconsistent writing. Hell, there are many things forgotten or straight up misconceptions within the fandom. (Many people still believe Kazuya made a deal with the devil to not die as a kid, but that only happened in the OVA) HELL, even I sometimes forget certain things, and I end up making headcanon posts that don't comply to canon just because I forgot about something. 😅

I looked it up for more info regarding the "email" Jin sent, according to some sources (such as the PAL version of the manual) Jin told her he suspected Heihachi was gonna have her assassinated...? Whiiich unsure if that's just a mistranslation from the PAL edition or not because I don't see why Heihachi would do that. He did it to Jin because Jin was no longer of use, he never cared about Jin, and Jin has the devil gene. But Xiao hasn't really done anything to warrant an assassination, unless Heihachi feared she'll uncover the truth regarding Jin's disappearance, and turn on him. But again, I'm unsure if this is true, or if the PAL version just added more because they thought "dangers" was too vague, or assumed that's what it meant when talking about the dangers. But who knows, we all also know how wonky the official translations of the series can be.

There's also a lot of issues with time travel. Such as, even if Xiao had succeeded, it'd be a possibility that Jin would've never been born. (After all, Jun only met Kaz due to his shady treatment of wildlife animals). But I won't delve too much into this just because it's just a silly story that means little. I don't even know how canon it is, considering that Xiao's ending in general isn't canon I don't think. Time travel, I'm pretty sure, is still not something that can canonically be done in the lore LOL.

Oh, Tekken 5 may be my favorite Tek game. (It's in the top three along with Tek3 and Tag 2) But I also very much enjoy Tekken 6 and we all know how I feel regarding its story. Basically, Tekken games can be very fun but not have the story that matches their quality of gameplay LOL. And I belieeeeve I wrote here very recently that 5 was the start of the atrocious writing. Although Jin was still relatively in character in 5, it did set up his villain arc with the ending. Xiao was flanderized to hell as we've discussed. Characters that didn't have joke endings before now have them (see Heihachi and Lei, probs more that I'm not thinking about rn) which set up the premise of not taking most of the cast seriously. (Tek7 DEFINITELY had an issue with most endings being pointless and comedic) So yeah, whilst Tek5 wasn't as bad as Tek6 in terms of story, it was suffering symptoms of it. Like a pre-illness or something LOL.

Tek3 was actually the first I was introduced to. My brothers CLAIMED we played Tek5 as kids because we rented it before when it was new...? But oddly I have like ZERO memories of it. I only remember playing Tek3, Tag 1, and Tek4. Which I played Tek4 very little because as a kid, I saw the limited amount of characters and thought "why would I play this when I can play Tag 1 with LOTS of characters...?" xD

My initial reaction is to be self-deprecating and say all of them since I feel like I spent more time writing ahead and not producing much to show for it, but I know that's not true (plus I'm trying to be kinder to myself). I won't say neglected so much as just put on the back burner for the moment until the muse returns for them, and honestly I feel like this can apply to all of my fics at different points during the year

Kinda both? I'm always going to wish I had written more no matter what, but I'm very happy with a rough estimate of 61.9k this year, that's certainly more than I thought it would be

Did you take any writing risks this year?

Writing in itself is a risk in my opinion. But also WYWH is a massive risk narratively and stylistically that I'm really hoping I'll be able to pull off!

Do you have any goals for the new year?

I'd like to update TSB at least once, if I can update twice I'll be over the moon! Plus I'd like to one day post WYWH, ISoIS, and possibly my DBZ fic but who knows if I'll have the confidence for that lol

Biggest disappointment?

Not being able to update TSB more. My fixations tend to jump around which makes it difficult to focus on one fic or fandom for longer than a couple months and thus to update more frequently than twice in a year

Biggest surprise? 

The fact that I started writing a fic for Dragon Ball lmao was not expecting that hyperfixation but I'm honestly not mad about it

My favorite part of fandom this year

Not necessarily fandom, but my own determination to say screw canon and create my own version of reality within the story I'm writing. Now that I'm beginning to stray from what's established in canon (down the line in my fics, not just yet I'm afraid but we're getting there), it feels like I've become ruler of the sandbox. Canon is mine to command and I'm so excited for the opportunities that will give me!

truthfully, i'm still extremely bitter about st3. not so much the fact that billy died bc shit like that always happens to the best characters. it was more the heterosexual push with mrs. wheeler and billy that the dbags used as their own weird ass way of wanting to live out their stacy's mom fantasy. i'm not saying billy ever had to be confirmed gay either. it would've been fine to keep him neutral. i know a lot of us have chalked up billy's "flirting" as a tactic to get the info he needed, and that's how i choose to see it. so again, my issue isn't with the show. it's just how sleezy the dbags are with billy that has left me very uncomfortable. it's very true that dacre is truly the reason billy was even humanized and most likely made it into st3 at all. without that, he would've been another throwaway character bc that's another issue the creators have—adding in way too many characters and not knowing what to do with them.

lmao so that's a tangent there of how i feel about st in general. but as far as billy and st4, i'm very much a pessimist. i think it's easy to read into things and think he'll be in it. signs do point in that direction—i think the most damning being dacre's post made just after st3 with the headcast and him being in makeup. there is a good chance billy is vecna. it would also make a lot of sense given the episode with his name in the title and max's struggle with missing him. i think it says a lot that they actually built in him being remembered for more than what he was initially intended for in st2.

all of that to say in a too long, didn't read way: i want to believe billy will be in it, but i'm not getting my hopes up either. fandom has lived on long enough (i've been here since the very start of harringrove. i mean, i remember when it was literally like 5 of us in the tag?) for him, and i think it'll continue on yet, so no worries there. if they somehow bring billy into the mix—as vecna or otherwise—i won't take back my feelings of the dbags, but at least they'd correct a wrong in some way.

i'll watch st4, but idk that i'll watch it the day it drops or anything. we'll see (it also depends on my work schedule). i'm wary, basically. i have enough heart to give it a chance but it's on thing ice, lol.

U have successfully missed the point! It's not avout being able to handle or not handle it. Ofc I can handle it. (Thoufh I would like to note rhat not being able to handle it is just fine too. Ans that can be upsetting, and you can't control ur emotions - and obviously u shouldn't lash out at people over it, but you should curate ur own internet experience! But it's about wanting to see content and not being able to see it because of hate in the tag. Imagine this happening in a non fandom related tag! U look for cute cat pictures but all u see is "cats suck" and "dogs r better anywyas" and "lost as to why cats are evil". But no cute cat pictures in sight. Do u understand now? It's less about getting upset for many, as getting annoyed by not finding what they were looking for. Fandom is a great way to discuss writing, plot devices, stereotypes and everything and those discussions are good and necessary, however some people are not looking for those and that's also super valid. It's been common fandom etiquette to tag your hate for ages now on multiple websites, including tumblr! It's not much different from trigger warnings - It's all about being able to filter stuff out thst u don't want to see in a place that's meant to be ur safe space.
