ok this got really long. here you go

sif:

ditched the cloak. it was collecting dust in their closet until recently, but they realized they don't need to cling to their grief so much anymore. someone else will need it more soon.

ditched the eyepatch. the prosthetic eye is a labor of love designed by isa, as is literally everything else they're wearing.

they cut their bangs finally and started braiding their hair back so it wouldn't obscure their vision as much anymore.

they like darker/tighter clothing and prefer function over form but unfortunately their gay ass boyfriend keeps treating them like a dress up doll so they're stuck wearing waistcoats and a fancy cloak. (they don't mind. it's designed to look like loop.) they keep flowers in their many pockets to give to people.

they're a woodworker in their free time. they don't usually talk about being any sort of savior so he just becomes sif the guy who's really good at carving birthday presents for people and also tags along with isa to charity parties and fundraisers

41 year old 5'1" they/he absolutely zero intention of Changing. bonded to isabeau. they adopted a kid who leo or i might post about some other time i think. her name is estelle.

isa dresses mostly for comfort, he doesn't like wearing stuff that might get stained or ruined when he's dyeing clothes or chasing stelle around in the mud or something, all his fashion sense goes into his handiwork

he Changed a few more times over the 15yrs, eventually settled. picked up she/her pronouns again on the side but was never really able to ditch the name isabeau and he kinda ran out of names anyways...

kept the long hair, kept a few inches in height, very happy to fulfill the role of male (space) wife

can't ditch the kimono jacket it's the piece de resistance. odile influence and Wisening Of Age means its made with a little more knowledge of ka buan technique but still very clearly an Isa Design. the fabric is imported silk sif!!!!!!

i took a lot of inspiration for the sparkly, sheer fabric on her dress from euphrasie. she's not head housemaiden yet because she doesn't feel like she's ready but everybody knows it'll be her

speaking of inspiration. she's been taking a lot of fashion cues from a certain lady in dormont that she thought was kind of scary, but it turns out she's very nice? they're besties now.

she got rid of the earrings for a little bit but then she realized she just liked how they look on her. so now they go ding ding! it's for her and nobody else, and that's how she likes it.

moved her ornaments to her skirt because they ding ding more often there. her necklace also jingles with merriment.

38 year old she/her advanced cisgender+ legend who's realizing that people are trying to get her to be the pope but all she really wants to do is write yaoibait fiction that looks like it came straight off of ao3

my glorious hag. she started shrinking about 3 years ago. all those years of bending over books has finally caught up to her. her hips are fuuuuuucked. but she has a sick cane that sif carved for her so everything's okay

she was already pretty comfortable and settled in her sense of style when she was nearing 50 so i don't think she would change much. darker clothing maybe. ditched the high-waisted pants for some looser slacks.

she's started writing a familytale of her own. the only person she's told about it is bonbon, who caught her up way past their bedtime, and scribbled all over one of the pages. she'll pass it on to sif when the time's right, after she's written down everything she can remember about their family.

64 year old she/her wasian researcher recovering from hernia surgery who's getting really into things like "political activism" and "body craft law reformation in ka bue" and "making sure people aren't sourcing their hrt from back alleys"

bonnie:

prefers to go by boniface these days. it's cooler. more mature. please stop calling me bonbon that's a nickname from when i was 10 guys c'mon guys ugh fine frin you can still call me bonbon but not around my girlfriends ok (nobody calls them boniface except for odile)

speaking of which they have 3 butch lesbian girlfriends. this got established as a joke but i think they have it in them. they're still young!!!!!!! they should be at the club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they traveled for a while with everybody but eventually settled down back in bambouche to start a little family owned restaurant with nille featuring dishes from all over the globe. people travel from all over to get a taste of boniface's good eats... bambouche is bustling. (they have a few recipes that are sourced from the country. they meet people every once in a while who find something achingly familiar about it, and they usually direct those people to jouvente to get in contact with frin.)

26 year old they/them "i dont know how tall i am but i'm taller than za" chef cooker whose restaurant keeps lighting on fire because this time i swear nille i can figure out how to do cooking craft i swear i wont explode the kitchen this time please i promise

loop:

ok. this is where lozy gets to just talk about what he thinks happens post game. i think they stick around for way longer than they really should and follow the crew around on their travels (mostly invisibly) because they're sooo fucking scared of change they're sooo scared and they're so scared of their wish fucking up beyond belief. they're kind of incapable of aging or dying in this body and theyre like permanently 26 which is what spurs them to finally move on.

i think they go back to their timeline eventually after making a Brand New Wish to "go back to their real family." alas the universe leads and we can only follow. and it turns out loop has actually made a real family in stardust's world also. this is my justification for why they can pop in between sasasap and isat worlds without much repercussion. i think they're always permanently loop shaped in isat but i imagine they can probably go back to their original body in their home timeline... might design that later. who knows. i'm fucked like that

i just think they deserve a chance for their own happy ending you know. isat's a game about how it's never too late to communicate and how you shouldn't punish yourself forever and ever. and i think theyve punished themself enough you know.

Hey, this might require a little research. I’m just curious if Vox sometimes gets nostalgic for his own time (1940s-1950s) and if collegestudent!Reader would sometimes appeal to his “old man” interests? Like playing music that was popular during that time, or wearing fashion from then, or going to a drive-in movie theater (I’m assuming there are places that cater to certain decades in hell since cannibal town is so 1930s it’s insane)?

A/N: Funnily enough, it was briefly touched upon in one of the interludes that dear Reader actually took some time to research about some stuff around the era Vox was alive in just to understand him a little better. They personally don't like collecting antiques of a time they didn't live in- but they do appreciate the unique fashion style and trends of the time period. It's often a joke between them about how "old" Vox is because of when he died despite not actually being that far in age biologically to (Y/N). (Vox died in his 30's, Reader is in their mid to late 20's) My personal taste actually quite matches the TV man's time period(I have a stupid amount of blazers and vests it's kinda idiotic lmao) so my preferences slightly bled into Reader's view on the vintage style. Anyway, here's a quick drabble about this because I literally just want more content between these two.

"Hey Vox! Come over! I wanna show you something!"

It was just a simple vague text he saw from you during a meeting. You could've been talking about quite literally anything for all the overlord knew. Sometimes what you found interesting was just so unpredictable that Vox eventually stopped trying to guess what was in store.

He grabbed his phone and shot back a quick reply, they were merely discussing some boring statistics anyway. He could spare you a minute.

"I'm in a meeting right now doll."

"Then afterwards! I promise it won't take long!"

Vox slightly raised an eyebrow at that, what had you possibly planned to suddenly be so persistent with him? Actually- what kind of insanity did you want to drag him into this time?

The overlord contemplated about replying when you continued to send message after message asking him to visit the hotel because of something you wanted him to see. After a bit of you asking, curiosity got the better of him and reluctantly he agreed.

"Fine, since you asked so nicely. But I won't stay for long okay? I'm a busy guy dollface."

"YAY! Thank you! I promise you'll enjoy it!"

He smiled at the text you sent back. Of course you plastered a number of cute emojis and hearts at the end of it. Whether it was meant to simply be friendly or a joking show of affection was easily lost on the overlord- but it was more than evident that his mood had improved if anyone else in the meeting had anything to say about it.

By the time Vox dropped by the hotel at your request, the last thing he expected was your peculiar outfit choice. It was a little older than what he generally attributed to your style, dare he say it was more reminiscent of his own outfit even.

"Okay, what's with the style change? Any special occasion?"

"Nah, I just wanted to try something new. Whaddya think? I really like the vibe too, real classy!"

The overlord just playfully rolled his eyes when you twirled to give him a full look at the outfit, what were you seriously trying to achieve this time? Did you dress this way on purpose for him?

If the excited way you looked up at him was any indication, Vox was inclined to believe you had tried to score some nostalgia points with him. Ironically, your ridiculousness was actually somehow working too.

"You look swell dear, who fashioned you the outfit though?"

"Lucifer helped me, dude's kind of a natural at balancing comfort and style."

Ah, that made a lot of sense.

Had Velvette fashioned you these clothes- Vox wouldn't have needed to come all the way to the hotel. Why the king of hell even entertained your shenanigans still struck him as a little odd- but not really unwelcome.

The overlord snapped out of his thoughts when he saw your hand extended out to him, the smile on your face only served to add to his confusion. What were you doing?

"Dance with me? Come on, don't tell me you don't know how."

Oh you were playing this game now? Well, Vox wasn't ever one to back down from a challenge. Not from anybody, and especially not from you.

"Oh it's on darling! But do try to keep up."

Your companion flicked his wrist as a jolt of electricity came out of his hand and blasted to your phone. Which had predictably started to blast some 40's tunes when he suddenly grabbed your hand and pulled you to his chest.

"Oh please, as if you can even tire me."

You only returned his grin when you faced the overlord again, your hands intertwined with his claws as you both danced away happily engrossed in your own little world. Your laughs and banter echoing the hotel lobby accompanied by a vintage melody of songs long past their time.

Vox was supposed to be in and out of there in just an hour, but he lost track of time in his enjoyment with you that he'd accidentally socked his entire schedule that day.

Not that he could bring himself to care when you giggled and roped him back in for one more dance.

It was just one more, who was counting anyway?

oh there's so many!

So you all know when the band first started, all Zayn would say is Vas Happening?! Well, YN's thing was always saying Aye Oh!

So whenever the cameras would point to them during their fetus era, he would throw an arm over her shoulder and they'd just yell their sayings super duper loudly while making a funny face.

...

During the band's third tour, the two of them would spend some time with their vocal coach in one of the smaller green rooms to go over their harmonies together.

The song they loved to perform together was Right Now because they shared the chorus.

So when they would hit those harmonies perfectly (like they always did), they would give each other a nod of approval, a smug look on their faces before giving each other a high five.

...

YN knew that while he usually presented himself with a hard exterior, she knew that he was a soft teddy bear once you got to know him. One of the activities that she would partake in with him was art. She knew she was shit at it, but she also knew that he loved it.

So during the long rides on the tour bus crossing from one city to another, sitting next to each other during an album signing/meet & greet, or stuck in their hotel rooms, she'd be there with a piece of paper and some type of writing utensil for them to draw whatever came to mind.

There was even an interview in 2014 when they were doing for their new book "Who We Are" where Zayn spent the majority of the time drawing on YN's arm. With a ball point pen, the beautiful mandalas he drew on her skin left her beaming and utterly speechless.

There's no denying the fact that those two were the most fashionable members of the band. With Zayn's cool, suave, bad boy style and YN's good girl aesthetic, photoshoots with them were easy and right on the money.

For the Night Changes music video, YN was the stand-in for basically all of the boys (except Liam who actually had his girlfriend on set). With each date, she took on the role with some seriousness, acting as if the boys were really taking her on a date.

For Zayn's part, YN actually dressed in a formal black dress to really get into character.

Needless to say, she really got a kick out of making her usually quiet band member laugh throughout the shoot. Like when Ben Winston directed him to offer her some of his spaghetti, she let out a playful sigh of relief, "Yes please. Do you see the sad fookin' excuse of a salad they gave meh?"

Or when her "ex-boyfriend" interrupted her date with Zayn, she actually played along and had an argument with him with a fake backstory she made up: "Johnathan?! What are yeh doing here? I told you to leave me alone. No, I'm over you. No. I'm sorry but I just can't listen to you rant about your Barbie doll collection any longer!"

And when the ex-boyfriend dumps the food on Zayn, as soon as the director yelled cut!, YN quickly got up from her seat and got all up in the building of a man's face (really his chest from how tall the actor was) and says with a deep voice, "the fook man!" But her facade lasted all but 2 seconds before her and everyone just burst out laughing.

Since the band's formation, Zayn always had and continues to have a soft spot for YN.

He still views her as a little sister and while they don't talk as much as they used to during their time in 1D, there's not a single birthday, holiday, anniversary, etc. that hasn't gone by without a text between the former band members.

first, monster high:

1. Draculaura (Scaris: City of Frights, Mattel, 2012)

i snagged this doll from a flea market in 2021. somehow, the only thing missing is her purse. she even has her earrings! she's got some fairly bad glue seepage going on with her hair, but it styled decently for now, so i'm gonna tackle it later.

2. Frankie Stein (MH G1: First Wave – Boo-Riginal Creeproduction, Mattel, 2022)

i found this at my local walmart and nearly had a fucking STROKE, i was so excited. I Fucking Love Her. frankie has always been my favourite, and i'm so happy to own this creeproduction, especially considering what a nightmare distribution was in canada. the fact that this frankie made it to my grubby paws at all is proof that god is real.

3. Spectra Vondergeist (Ghoul's Night Out, Mattel, 2013)

growing up, i only had three MH dolls: a second wave frankie, a boo beach cleo de nile, and this spectra. spectra is the only childhood survivor, because i begged and pleaded for AGES to get her for christmas, because she was a GHOST and OF COURSE i wanted the fucking ghost. once i got her in my hands, i treated her like she was made of fucking gold.

she's missing her purse and vinyl vest right now, because i had to undress her for the first time ever recently in an attempt to give her a bath (which did fuck all). she's got a SEVERE case of glue seepage in her hair, as well as some brutal UV yellowing that i'm gonna have to paint over. but she's my fucking baby, and i'm gonna get her fixed up.

4. Frankie Stein (MH G3: First Wave, Mattel, 2022)

i was really iffy on G3 at first, but it has grown on me so much. i couldn't fucking believe it when i heard that frankie is canonically nonbinary in the reboot, i was ecstatic. they're fucking AWESOME, they are SO TALL, i love their face sculpt and their outfit and their accessories (which are not pictured) and their prosthetic leg is so cute and the graffiti on the leg is upside down so you can tell frankie did it themself and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

5. Draculaura (MH G3: First Wave, Mattel, 2022)

draculaura is the always a slay. the reboot draculaura is absolutely not an exception. i'm fucking obsessed with this lil bitch, she was the first G3 doll i grabbed. she's an icon, a fashion queen, and she's chubby. i'd be here for years if i tried explaining how much that means to me.

next, LOL surprise! OMG and LOL surprise! tweens:

1. Emma Emo (Tweens – Series 3, MGA, 2022)

i don't have to explain why i bought her. look at her. fucking look at her.

2. Skatepark QT (OMG – Series 5, MGA, 2022)

i've always been a wannabe skater, even though my balance is absolute shite (but i AM working on that). my motivation behind buying lol dolls is never that deep, i just see their colours and their outfits and i go OOH SHINEY and then i'm at home fighting for my life to get into the box. idk man. they're all cute at fuck.

3 + 4: Punk Grrrl & Rocker Boi (OMG – Remix 2-Pack, MGA, 2020)

in summer of 2022, my family was on vacation on prince edward island, and we needed to kill a few hours while waiting for check-in to open up at the second campground we'd be staying at. my parents are my enablers, so they decided the best way to kill said hours was to set me loose on the toys 'r' us in charlottetown. my wallet hurt after and it ROCKED. these guys were part of my haul!

these motherfuckers have the goofiest goddamn names in the world, but i forgive them, because they are a slay. they're so cute together. their outfits are fantastic. the sides of her head are flocked so her undercut is fuzzy. they have guitars. HE'S A BOY. i love them.

5. Darcy Blush (Tweens – Series 4, MGA, 2022)

this lil lady is the latest addition to my collection, i grabbed her last week. she's very aesthetically different from the other lol dolls i have, but i could not walk away from her. i even tried, but right before we left, i ran back to the toys and grabbed her. her face is so sweet, her colour scheme is darling, and the coloured braids in her hair are so sweet ;____;

these are some miscellaneous dolls, we're moving into the barbie realm:

1. Jacob Black, Bella Swan & Edward Cullen (Barbie Collector: Pink Label – The Twilight Saga, Mattel, 2009)

i got these for christmas in 2009. my mum was super into twilight at that point, i showed interest in her interests (Because She Is My Mummy), and boom. dolls.

she didn't want me to take them out of the box, since they're collector's editions.

naturally, they were removed from their boxes Fucking Immediately, because i was EIGHT. and to this day, i am still not an in-box collector (save for a couple of wrestling action figures i have). these three are very well loved. bonus points: edward's entire body is sparkly!!

2. Heather Grayson (Rainbow High – Shadow High: Series 1, MGA, 2022)

she's just a slay. idk what to tell you. i'm a sucker for split dye hair on dolls, man.

3. Elsa (Disney's Frozen II – Musical Adventure Elsa, Hasbro, 2019)

again, no complicated answer here. i love elsa. she means a lot to me. when you press the button on her chest, she sings "show yourself"!

4. Sasha (Bratz Rock Angelz – 20 Yearz Special Edition Reproduction, MGA, 2021)

i had a sasha doll as a kid, though it wasn't this exact one. she's my forever fave of the core four bratz. i got this doll on that same toys 'r' us trip in PEI, and she's so cute. i need to actually watch the rock angelz movie (i've somehow never seen ANY bratz movies).

and now, barbie:

1. Princess Rosella (Barbie as The Island Princess, Mattel, 2007)

none of these dolls are in very good condition, because all four of them are mine from childhood. this ro doll literally only has the dress and sagi the red panda left; everything else that she came with was lost to time, moves and general kell behaviours. but, when you press the button on her necklace, SHE STILL FUCKIN' SINGS! THAT'S A W

2 + 3. Princess Alexa & Princess Liana (Barbie & The Diamond Castle, Mattel, 2008)

oh my fucking god i abused these lil whores. alexa's face has been drawn on with pink highlighter (which, to my credit, you can't really tell. shoutout to my younger self, hashtag beauty guru moment). liana's dress-transformation mechanism is so worn out that i swear to god breathing on her wrong will trigger the audio chip in it, resulting in this grating, tinny sparkle sound effect. their shoes and tiaras are with jesus now, but shockingly, i still have One (1) of their hairbrushes. but SOMEHOW, SOME FUCKING WAY, THEY STILL SING AND LIGHT UP, TOO. i never said they sound particularly good. BUT THEY WORK AND THAT'S WHAT MATTERS.

bonus points: their dresses' colour schemes are like the bisexual and lesbian pride flags respectively, which shreds absolute puss. and it's doubly fantastic because the diamond castle is THEE gay barbie movie. these girls are homosexual.

4. Barbie (Barbie Hair-Tastic! Color & Design Salon, Mattel, 2012)

there's no movie tie-in for this doll. she came with a salon chair, some stencils, and some spray bottles full of coloured liquid. you could "spray paint" her hair, then wash the colour right back out. i don't have the other pieces anymore, but i still have the barbie. unfortunately, i very recently melted off a section of her hair by accident while trying to straighten it (adhd moment, forgot to wet the strand), but thankfully that section is well-hidden and hardly noticeable. i just think she's pretty.

(her outfit, however, is a fuckin' SIN i hate it so bad lmfao)

and i just bought these two today, and i am so excited i think i could keel over right the fuck now:

1. Rayla the Cloud Queen (Barbie and The Magic of Pegasus, Mattel, 2005)

she has all her pieces, and she comes with a pegasus.

she is so fucking gorgeous. i cannot believe my luck right now. rayla has never even been on my wishlist, she just comes with the annika doll. this is a complete and utter win for me. everything is coming up millhouse kell ybcpatrick.

2. Princess Annika (Barbie and The Magic of Pegasus, Mattel, 2005)

I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO OWN THIS BITCH FOR EIGHTEEN FUCKING YEARS. EIGHTEEN. MOTHERFUCKING. YEARS. OF. MY. LIFE. AND SHE'S GOING TO BE MINE. AND SHE HAS ALL OF HER ACCESSORIES. AND SHE COMES WITH THE LIGHT-UP WAND. SHE EVEN HAS INSTRUCTIONS.

magic of pegasus is my favourite barbie movie of all time. this is childhood wish fulfillment x1000. i'm convinced once this doll gets here, at least two of my mental illnesses are gonna be cured instantaneously. i might honestly cry once i get to hold her. i'm not over it i will never be over it i'm fucking losing my mind out here.

OKAY FUCK. that is all of my dolls. sorry that this is like. So Fucking Long. When/if the tADC cast is shown in human form, I really hope they don't visually resemble their avatars, for a few reasons -The program forces them to forget their own names, clearly anonymity was a priority here -The avatars are clearly reflecting their personalities, not their physical bodies -It's such an overdone and frankly kind of lazy trope in the trapped-in-a-video-game genre, I'm tired of it

And since I hate complaining without offering an alternative, here's my (PROBABLY WILDLY INCORRECT) speculation on what they might have been like when they were human under the cut

Pomni -Had long blonde hair which she wore down, she would have preferred it short but [insert loved one here] loved it, so long it was. Also doubled as a convenient curtain when she was outwardly freaking out -On the skinny side, flat as a board even, strong legs though -Well dressed in an understated way, she didn't like to stand out -Was really into gymnastics as a kid, moved onto jogging once she got older and busier -Ate a lot of neon colored tv dinners/poptarts/fast food as a kid, avoided it like the plague in her teen years and beyond because "it's gross" -Had a rabbit once, but it escaped and what was left of it was found in her back yard a week later, she never had the heart to get another pet after that -Part of a friend group, but didn't hang out with most of them individually -Watched American Idol religiously

Gangle -Chubby and really tall, yet always felt small, so her posture was really bad -Either lived with her parents or spent most of her time holed up in her apartment, didn't get much sunlight either way -Dressed modestly to cover up some self inflicted scars -Anime was not really part of the western cultural consciousness in the late 90's, most people assumed it was either just kid stuff or just porn, so she probably didn't have many friends outside of a few fellow anime fans -Very quiet and withdrawn but could talk for hours about her new favorite anime (and yes, she preferred subs to dubs) -Loved trying different kinds of snacks -Her keys had a shit ton of keychains and charms attached -Drew a lot and kept it all in a big binder

Zooble -Kinda short -Exceptionally good posture -Moved around a lot as a kid, their favorite place was an apartment one block off from a park where they met their best friend -Alt fashion sense (mostly hand me down clothes so they had to get creative anyway) with a preference for button up shirts -Socks MUST match, down to the brand -Mall crawler, but rarely bought anything -Bead collection -Read so many sci fi books

Kinger -Dad bod -Could see fine but kept his reading glasses in the front pocket of his (usually hawaiian, sometimes plaid) shirt at all times -Was something of a chess and checkers legend at his local library, the "I bet you can't beat that guy" guy. Would let his opponent win if they seemed like they were really stressing about it though -Big nature guy, went hiking or camping once every couple weeks at least -Had a pottery kiln in his garage -Met his wife at a movie theater and movies were the go-to date night ever since

Ragatha -Average proportions, other than being slightly 'blessed in the chest' -Her least favorite season was summer, because she couldn't wear her sweaters then -Her parents loved her but were on the strict side -Most of her disposable income went to her porcelain doll collection, which she hid from friends and family because "it's creepy" -Didn't realize wanting to kiss girls wasn't a universal experience for the longest time -Had a busy social life, was rarely home because she always had someone to see and somewhere to be -Dated around a lot but never settled down with anybody -Was big into fantasy stuff, especially the renaissance faire

Jax -Average proportions, like imagine a Normal Guy (non-hollywood version) he looked like that -Dyed his hair an unnatural color like green or pink -Struggled with an eating disorder, less because he hated how he looked (though he might have) and more to assert control in a life where he had very little -Wore band shirts of bands he didn't listen to as a little private joke. His actual music taste leaned more classical but he wouldn't tell a soul about that -Quite friendly and social, but couldn't maintain more than a couple close friendships at a time -Loved baseball -Watched every horror movie he could get his hands on

trying to format an opinion that i haven't already shared on here. okay I'm going to talk a little bit about Claudie who I think is the most intriguing of the recently released historicals to me.

First off: I think Claudie's doll is adorable, I love her curls and I think her new face mold looks very sweet and friendly. I know the new dolls with painted-on eyelashes are controversial and I have mixed feelings overall but I think it looks cute on Claudie. I also think her meet outfit is cute, especially the dress, and it's not as Aggressively Modern as some of the Beforever and current meet outfits on the other girls.

I'm also a big fan of Claudie's PJ set (love the bunny slippers) and her jazz dress. I think they're very cute and fun and while I'm not an expert on 1920s fashion or the Harlem Renaissance they don't feel like...glaringly obviously not period like, for instance, all of Sam's Beforever collection. At this point, I am quite pleased with Claudie's outfits.

(Although, one thing I'd like to point out that is sort of a semi-critique. These feel quite flattering and glamorous to me, not quite enough to stretch credulity for a nine-year-old character, and the meet dress is def simpler, and since Claudie is interested in performing it makes sense for her to be drawn towards glitzy stuff, but I would like to see her have maybe like a simpler and more childish set available, like a play dress or something.)

My final critique is reserved for the Harlem's Fashion Row outfits. Positives: these are very beautiful and I like that AG did a collab with modern African-American high fashion designers. That being said, as a historical doll purist, these are DEFINITELY not what a nine year old girl in 1922 Harlem would have been wearing. Claudie is a fourth grader, not a showgirl, and while these are beautiful I do wish that there were more options for dressed-down or believably everyday choices.

I also wish Claudie had more lower price point accessories, she has the bakery set but it's huge and more than 200 dollars. I wish they started making the lunchboxes that used to go with the girls' school sets again, I love miniature food but again the bakery set is so wildly expensive.

I also would have to examine the clothing more closely in person to determine construction quality, which I feel like has been more of an issue in more recent AG collections, and I'm not a huge fan of switching to largely synthetic fabrics, so I think I'd like to take a look at these sets in person. However, aside from my previously mentioned complaint that Claudie's collection is very glam and not as historical/everyday, I overall really like her/her collection. If I was to purchase one of the historical dolls they currently produce, it would probably be her (though I also quite like Rebecca).

I also think they undermarketed Claudie--they didn't even release an AG catalogue with her on the cover, which I think is pretty standard for new released historicals, and I worry about her getting overshadowed by the 90s twin dolls. I hope they keep marketing her and release some more accessories and more everyday clothing!

So, since I decided not to collect any of the reboot dolls*... our collection is complete. We have every doll from series 1 to the runway and body line dolls and shadow high series 3. We have every special edition doll and twin set.

We still intend to try and complete the bags and shoes collection, and attach a second rainbow high dollhouse to the one I own and have assembled to create a deluxe dormhouse like I saw someone do. I also intend to continue collecting ooak dolls, including customs of the shadow high Project Rainbow models in their best outfits.

But... it's wild. I now own a true complete collection of dolls. Of- collectables at all.

I know I don't talk a lot about anything but dolls here, but this is meaningful to me on multiple levels. I am an impoverished disabled person. A victim of neglect and abuse. Even outside of full abuse, I often was forced to give up things important to me growing up before I was ready, which was triply difficult as an autistic and POSIC+ person.

To be at a point where I've had the relative security to have a collection, to not have to sell it even when things got dicey, to have a collection of things I love on display that I know is mine and that no one can take from me... it's everything to me. It makes me feel safe in a way that's hard to articulate or explain to anyone who hasn't been through similar.

I'm going to order some shelves when I can to get them properly explained, since they are now scattered on every available surface lol

But I mean... this is a good feeling. This is my home, and it's full to bursting of the things I love most. These bright, beautiful dolls have helped me fight my depression. Mirny accompanying me to high stress situations has helped with my anxiety. This has been a huge part of my journey in healing from trauma. It has helped us explore our POSIC identity and even recover from the disordered symptoms of our DID.

I'm just... really glad to be able to say my Rainbow High collection is complete. 🥰🥰

Honey and Clover - this manga/anime means the world to me. i love the style, the way the mangaka draws emotions, but also the protagonist's story of finding himself? resonant. the manga especially is precious to me bc of the art tho, it has a sketchy quality that i love

Hey Arnold! - another childhood favorite... this one doesn't reflect on my actual style so much, but it's a big influence on the stories and characters i like and create. if i could make everyone watch only one cartoon, it would be hey arnold

Persona 5, sketchbooks, @meruz - if you look at more than one page of this blog, you can probably guess i like p5(r)!! a lot!! i love all the characters, even if you mostly see me drawing the protag and akechi bc i'm a shipper at heart lol... i'm always inspired by sketchbooks of other artists! especially proper sketchbooks, where they're messy and worked in and aren't curated to be "good looking" for people to look at. that said, this is a page meruz posted from one of their sketchbooks (go buy them) and i adore meruz's work! i got into their work a while back and their lineart really drew me in, the lineweight and use of spot blacks is delicious. i need to work more on those in my own art and meruz's work always makes me want to do just that

Dolls - and here we take a little detour from the obvious? i sadly don't own this doll :( she's a rune naito fashion doll and i want one so badly. i collect dolls, especially fashion dolls!! i love their designs!! i usually just leave them in their stock outfits bc those are part of the charm to me. i wanna draw my dolls more, but for now they're just a big influence on design and outfits for characters

Amanda Lafrenais - i've been following amanda for so many years i can't keep count anymore!! her style blends "western" and "anime" so well to me and also she just draws lots of pretty women?? also we love queens who draw different body types

Roleplaying (pixelated image from wiki-how) - i've been roleplaying, mostly just with my bestie erin, since i was like 14? i draw stuff inspired by our roleplays soooo much, whether it's from a scene or just "what if"s we threw around. erin is a brilliant writer, has great ideas, and she's basically the GM even tho it's collaborative writing-based rping lmao... im just like "erin come up with a plot and we can shoot ideas back and forth" lol

Drawfee - no idea anymore how i came across drawfee but it's a really fun and funny channel and i'll do some of their challenges on my own sometimes!! (my favorite is the 30s character from memory challenge, i'll have erin give me characters and time me) also they have a ttrpg-style series called Drawtectives that has great characters!!! also every time julia draws a scene im like "ah i want that to be me..."

The Golden Age of Illustration - i'm such a junkie for cartoons and anime and comics and such, i don't really know the classics OOPS... but in the past year or two i've gotten really into what's apparently known as the "golden age of illustration"!! roughly the 1880's to 1920s, there's a lot of fairy/folk tale art from this era and i'm obsessed with all of it. standout mentions that i love to look at the work of are kay nielsen and edmund dulac

"Damn," Robert said. "I get the whole 'You wearing the suit and not the suit wearing You' now."

Tahir had stopped adjusting his earring when Robert had spoken up. Clip-on of course, his mother would kill him and he himself had no interest in the permanence. They were courtesy of Ala, who had used them when she was younger.

He smirked over his shoulder. "If you can't fill out a suit, you can't fill out the role you're wearing it for."

"Oh, you're filling it out, handsome." Robert's eyes did not meet his. 

The smile dropped off his face. "You're staring at my arse, aren't you?"

Robert did indeed and grinned, while Tahir rolled his eyes and turned back to the mirror. "But the rest also looks lovely, handsome."

Tahir made no further comment other than straightening his back and vest. Due to the mirror, he was fully that Robert was walking up to him.

He didn't protest the hands at his hips and  stopped his motions when Robert leant around to softly kiss the already adjusted earlobe. "I really like this touch, too."

Tahir snorted and chuckled quietly to himself.

"Thank you," he said and turned to face him, their noses touching. "I talked with Ala about whether you'd want some as well." Robert blinked, as his eyes widened in surprise. Tahir grinned. "She said you'd google which ear is the gay one."

Now it was Robert's turn to roll his eyes before he pecked him on the lips and turned away. Tahir still smiled to himself when he attached the other. "Are you sure about your outfit though?"

"Course I am." Tahir looked him once up and down. Robert noticed and stopped in his tracks. "It's just the French. Désirées probably going to show up with her tie backwards or triple layered dress and is gonna call it a fashion statement, so untwist your knickers, Tahir." Tahir sighed. "And I look well fit with the leather jacket."

"At least tuck your shirt in."

"With the leather jacket? Forget it, I'm not square. Won't catch me walking around like my own father."

"Fine! You're right." He looked back into the mirror. "We're gonna look like quite the pair, with me all dolled up and you all butch." Tahir could see in the mirror that Robert seemed to enjoy the notion. "You would google which ear the gay one is," he said, but before Robert could muster an answer, someone knocked at the door. 

Robert walked over and asked: "Who's there?"

"It's me," Arthur said. "Can I come in?"

Robert looked to Tahir for a brief moment, who nodded, and then opened the door.

"Sure, come in." Robert stepped aside a little as Arthur did just that. "The Lady over there's still putting her lippy on."

Arthur adjusted his lapel when Robert hadn't even closed the door and his hands didn't leave his suit when he strode into the room.

"I see," Tahir said after he had turned around to face him. "You chose not to wear the suit he bought you."

Arthur looked up from his cufflinks, but did not cease his messing with them. "Yes, because I'm perfectly capable of dressing myself, thank you very much. And I don't see what's wrong with this suit I bought in Oxford. Certainly, our tailors aren't any less talented than theirs." 

"And you're not Froglegs' dress up doll," Robert said as he ambled over to the bed and Arthur nodded.

"That as well. I'd appreciate the loving intent, if it didn't end up warping back into utter self-centered egotism."

Tahir simply watched him tighten his tie. "I won't argue with that angle. However, since I would not date François under any circumstances in the first places, while you do ... maybe meeting him halfway would be a nice gesture between lovers?"

Arthur re-buttoned his suit jacket while he glared at him. "How I handle this relationship, of whatever nature it may be, you may leave to me, Tahir."

Tahir smiled faintly but knowingly. "Of course, Sir. Apologies."

"I mean, there's always other options," Robert said. He had sat down on the bed. "Who really wants to ride the horse they learnt riding on? No one."

Arthur's face had turned at least a shade redder and his head snapped to Robert. "Excuse me?!"

"Did you have to phrase it like that?" Tahir asked. "Let me retract that - Did you have to say that at all?"

"What, I can't give a piece of advice as well?"

"Advice is solicited, something I clearly did not do with your opinions!" Arthur said. "Aren't you going to end up with your own relationship squabbles tonight, as always? Do you need to concern yourself with mine as well?"

"What's that supposed to mean?" Robert asked.

"If you are going to be like that for the rest of the evening, I can see where he's coming from," Tahir told him.

"Didn't I tell you to untwist your knickers?"

"If you aren't going to back me up, but instead backstab me from two different directions, I won't put a single good word in with Arielle." He shoved his hands into his pockets and raised both his eyebrows for a moment, gaze turning to the side. "Or, well, rather try and distract her from whatever's going on."

"Oh, don't worry about that," Robert said with a grin on his face. "For all I care, she can fume all evening about not getting her way. Let her do it together with François."

Arthur looked at him, then his gaze unfocused. All the while, Tahir squinted slightly at Robert.

Arthur smiled. "Well, as much as I like the thought, I wouldn't want anyone to encourage him in his wailing. Guess I'll have to be a gentleman about all of this."

"Someone has to be," Tahir said, with a his eyes still on Robert, who seemed unaffected by the stern look and joyless mouth.

"You can only be a gentleman to a lady." He got to his feet and put one arm around Tahir's waist. "Ready to go, handsome?"

Tahir grabbed his suitjacket and adjusted it in front of the mirror.

"That's a marvelous shade of green," Arthur said about the suit and Tahir smiled for a second.

"Thank you, Arthur." He turned around. "I like the contrast of yours, is it bespoken?"

"Of course it is! Be a shame not to wear it, isn't that right?"

"Do you wanna take bets on what Désirée is going to wear?" Robert asked and Arthur laughed. He reigned himself in.

"I'm sure she'll wear something appropriate."

"Fuck off. If it's not at least a weird shirt, then she knocked her head real hard."

"Robert, were you earlier implying that Miss Halévy is not a real lady?" Tahir asked.

Robert poked his earring, which had Tahir catch him by the wrist. "You're more of a lady than her tonight. I'll tell you outright that she's a bitch."

"Robert!" it came in unison from Tahir and Arthur. The door fell shut behind them and soon, their conversation was carried away from the hotel room, through the lobby and into the Parisian spring night.

and right now i am just exporting a song i've been mixing today again, it was a problem song a while ago, now it's a lot better i think but it's still kind of like, missing something, idk. right guitar feels a touch weird i guess. or i guess both are, rn, idk idk idk. what i need/want is the sharpness to come through again.

otherwise, today, not much. i'm going to play videogames again after wednesday, or maybe after my bank appointment on wednesday. i don't want to do it too much/at all really. it's better to just read or work on music but it helps me relax, i guess, i like collecting items and wandering around. i will tire myself out probably pretty soon and then i'll at least have my muscle memory back/better.

i was thinking about this thing today, some book about cute accelerationism, my friend was talking about it and that book really irritates my gf, she had a podcast briefly and she was going to talk about cuteness in a manifesto, it was part of her podcast, i wanted to write a bit for it, but it never came to, since she had more important things to do other than engage in twitter pop-theory, basically.

but i was thinking about it today, and what i wanted to write, and i guess what i feel like the book could get wrong. i should read it to know/form a better critique, but to me cuteness forms no coherent accelerationism, and i am too tired to articulate everything here entirely but the way i imagined it before, as an anti-vitalism when you look at kawaii cutlure and what it responds to, and then now thinking of the tiqqun reading i've been doing in cybernetic hypothesis, in the desire to be doll-like in say lolita fashion, gothic lolita, the cuteness of certain sorts of illustration, or even that kawaii culture at points engages with the grotesque, and doll art/dolls as popular things in kawaii culture and as an art / object of pop art emerges from hans bellmer, there is a lot here that makes it about nonresponsiveness, i feel it's stemming from a desire towards what kristeva called the carnivalesque, and the abject. i guess necessarily, for me, it's about not just engaging w/ cuteness as it's found in anime, but how people have desired cuteness and how it develops now, what it articulates and what desires it allows one to enjoy perversely, and then that it allows one to cease communication, to become a doll, in a way, to desire passivity in an excessive way. even desiring cuteness in america, the turn on websites like this and others, to urge people towards eating disorders, to travel towards needing nothing of the outside world, as baudrillard described anorexia, an interior furnishing, self defense, and also the sense that it is fragile and constantly being lost, your cuteness, your youth. it's a complex thing, i guess, it's a nightmare full of so many desires/needs. i need to be cute, speaking on myself, really, i do, if i feel ugly, and uncute, i want to die, literally, when i do feel cute, i feel like i am able to take refuge in myself, to disengage with the world, or the parts that are hideous, i am overflowing and discommunicative, i am gnashing teeth and i am huge eyes, pleasure in not moving, wanting to be looked at and not seen, wanting to be unseen but needing to be looked at.

i write about this kind of thing constantly, basically, this specific set of needs, it's important to articulate because i feel like nobody else is, instead they approach it from an angle that says cuteness is some kind of, i'm not sure, i don't know what it is to them. but it's i guess not a coherent thing, is the sense i get, it's just 'something' it's not got history. to observe, i've seen people invoke bataille to discuss cuteness, it always leaves me feeling they understand neither, it is easy to articulate through him cuteness, on some level, the sacrificial aspects, and via bellmer, the erotic aspects which some may imagine do not exist, but they are there, at a certain level, they are unavoidable. but i'd rather use the energy i want to put into complaining into spitballing fiction, so i will go do that.

this is good, i wrote kind of a lot today, because outside of this i made sure to get some other ideas down.

i wonder if sometimes i am too precious, about ideas i have that i feel like i use in fiction/writing i care more about, sometimes i worry articulating them will make them less interesting to me or something, i don't think it's the case, there's always new nuances to discover/observe, i think. so it's kind of like, weird how i am i guess. but i also don't want to make it like, plainly/painfully academic. these are ideas that feel connected to life as it is lived, stories feel like the best place for them / to illustrate the kinds of state i think of/in/desire/worry about.

i've just been kind of manically going thru random songs, listening to this and then i think i need to sleep:

such a perfect perfect perfect song. these guys did a song for the nmh 2 ost, not the big one, philistine, but the one for the astronaut boss, iirc. they're so cool to me, otaku j-pop, weird guys on vocals. i think i've talked abt them here before, but they're just so interesting to me and nobody else seems to give any kind of a fuck abt them.

i should do a margaret moonlight cosplay . one day . i mean, i don't think i really could but it's a nice fantasy/thought. she was also a character from a video game that i thought was way cool in an aspirational way (the list of people/characters who make up my 'whoa... you can be like that?' thing (the early development of '#goals' for me) is so funny, ranging from models/eventual models to singers to actors (paz de la huerta was a first crush but also i liked how she seemed to embrace some kind of being fucked up, her over-red lipstick is kind of incredible to me) to video game characters, to anime, ofc (obviously, w/ things like funeral parade of roses and moments in fiction, i still get these pangs now, of identification, or like, people/characters that elucidate some part of being)).

perfect outfit tbh. or i guess kinda. maybe the panty(ish? (idk, are those shorts (it's still kind of a lot)))-shot is too much but idk. i could rock that i guess. really anything that looks like that is so perfect to me idk. i suppose it's obvious but gothic lolita stuff somehow made kinda sleek is a genius idea.

now i am listening to philistine... messed up for real.

that song is also in a lot of funny ways a big influence on me, the gaudy synths, always wanting guitars beside gaudy synths, i also really like the kinds of melodies that song employs, both versions of it, and the american version having that fucked up ugly square wave bass is so perfect, another huge hit on my soul, when i first heard it.

i need to get a huge headband like that soon, with my #work money. it will be so swaggy tbh.

it's just so good, another perfect kind of song. i know i've talked about the blood brothers a ton but i love how jordan screams so much, he's a genius of screeching, the way he must let his tongue hang out or something to get some of that sloppiness in delivery, it's hard to get that, but it's really worth it, when you do need that.

here's a crazy thing i'm noticing, is that the orange amps cody uses, the orange amp simulator in guitar rig 6 is honestly not the worst you can do w/ getting that sound, i do always hear guitars as having higher freqs than they really do, it's interesting to hear it soloed here and how rolled off and strange the sound is, or it feels strange, it's almost like, if i got that sound, i think i'd like, go 'oh it could be sharper', but it's so perfect here. maybe i can internalize that and get something out of it, maybe, i hope.

what if i wrote a new locker talk fic where one of their kids goes back to the past because they accidentally got sass to say second chance

y'know. good ol fashioned fanfic trope.

idk what age yet but i need it to be chaos

i like the idea of keeping the kids consistent throughout my aus, so: charlotte, sara, and carmille, are the three kids they end up having together.

carmille is the youngest, and i'm not sure what age they're at in this fic, but they're old enough to figure out what they've done wrong. at first i wanted, like, a kindergardener-- no, younger-- just young enough to wear lightup viperion sneakers with velcro straps, without thinking it's lame or Uncool or Not Big Kid, with his socks dirty and wet because he's been playing with a bucket of water on his grandmother's deck, before he showed up here. his shoes squeak every time he moves.

but at the same time, i also want him to be old enough to be super talkative. and they're just like "mmmmmm. oh no. oh sugarsnaps. i'm in so much trouble."

anyway. he shows up in the bakery, in the middle of marinette and luka having a slow day. of course. luka thinks the little kid is lost before he just walks behind the counter and goes to sit on a chair, and stays really still.

"uhm-- are you lost?" marinette asks the little kid.

"i messed up," he voices. tiny. small. squeaky. he's so young. "baba is gonna freak."

carmille is young, small, with shaggy black hair and light blue, round-shaped eyes that are just so familiar. there's so many freckles on his face, too, and luka is about halfway there to figuring it out, but just in case... "what did you do?"

"i tricked sass to say second chance," tiny carmille grumbles. there are so many viperion bandaids on his legs. "i'm in trouble. i just have to wait until baba gets here."

anyway. chaos.

marinette blue screening at the idea of "wait, what do you mean youngest child? huh? there's more?"

luka being like "you watched back to the future with your grandmother, didn't you?"

to which carmille just nods with a giant grin. "i was bonding with her."

"uh huh."

"it's her favorite movie."

"i'm aware," luka snorts. "i used to watch it all the time when i was young."

"so you understand why i wanted to see my parents and how they were when they were younger, yeah?"

"you what?"

"i wasn't the only one," carmille sniffles. "charlotte and sara, too. but i was the one who got him to say it."

more chaos, all the more chaos, everything. marinette comes out of this whole situation looking whiplashed and so blushy by every little comment carmille makes.

(gives me a chance for me to write older viperion coming by to collect one of his Rascals, and marinette has to go hide behind the counter and let a wide two meter space between her and him while scolding him for letting a child be next to sass and knowing the magic word, to which future viperion just goes: "i literally just spent the past five hours hearing this, mousey, i don't want to hear this again--" because oh, ohhhhhh, okay. cool. he's a lot older. not as much blue in his suit anymore, definitely more black, and wow isn't that power of intuition just sparkling in his eyes? it's like he knows exactly what she's thinking! uh oh. is it hot in here, or is it just her? luka is gonna tease her about it later, she knows.)

carmille keeps trying to save face and act cute, but he's quickly hoisted over his dad's shoulder like a sack of potatos.

viperion may know how to flirt with his own wife-to-be, but he's also a dad. which means that he has to be stern at some point, giving carmille a flat look. "do you know how long i've been looking for you?"

"probably a billion years," carmille grumbles. they're very tired, needing a nap, and is in the process of snacking on one of the danishes from the bakery display. they hang off of their dad's shoulders like a rag doll, eating kinda neatly on his food. viperion doesn't even blink.

"your mom nearly killed me."

"i'm sorry."

"jesus, carmille."

carmille shrugs. "i'm sorry."

"i don't believe your apology," older viperion sighs. "you are so lucky we've always loved you. they're smitten with you, i know it, but you could've found us when we were your age. what would've happened then?"

"i don't know. i'm smart. i would've asked an adult for help. maybe grandma--"

"you know she would've been confused."

"she would've helped. she always says i look just like you."

anyway idk how to end this snippet idea thingy. so. back to circuits!

Only things I can way with a lot of certainty but not 100% (is anything really ever 100%?) is:

-Nomes are only one (1) remnant of a previous life

-There is possibly some other remnant, as they stated the Nome needs another remnant to exist. This *could* be the shadow(or rather a soul) to exist but it could mean there is still a body (altho kinda weird to take a body but leave the clothes, wouldn't it make more sense if you took the body to feed someone/threw it overboard/whatever the Lady would have done with it and also take the clothes to toss or give to other kids or some other use rather than leave them there?)

-That Nome™ is not RK. Not entirely, maybe not even 50%. It's moreso a collection of his memories and behavior, I theorize, and that's what all Nomes are if they are just echoes of the past

-For that Nome to exist there has to be something left of RK, reverse engineering this the only things he could have left behind were likely his clothes, memories, a physical object he was attached to maybe (like the doll from the first scenes in the Depths?) or possibly the floatsam bottles

Some less certain things:

-Are they directly answering my questions? My main questions I was looking for answers here (even though I write unclear I know I'm sorry) were:

1. Who or what are/were the Shadow Kids?

2. Are Nomes and Shadow Kids related?

3. Is there any connection between the Runaway Kid and the Shadow Kids?

4. Who or what ARE the Shadow Kids connected to besides anything with RK?

-What they answered was about the Nomes and remnants of someone else. Something we have heard before if I'm correct. But the Nomes were only a little portion of what I was asking about, so it could be that they deliberately chose the easier topic of Nomes, or they have more connection than thought, as the other topic was remnants. Are they comparing Nomes to Shadow Kids as a remnant?

-Reverse engineering their answer to my rambles and questions, they were very much targeting the portions of said remnants. Likely especially the comments of what happens to the Thin Man and Lady's bodies after they die compared to the Shadow Kids and their boss fight, and the question of if the Shadow Kids are connected to the Runaway Kid as remnants themselves of him or other Maw children. This could very well provide the information that they are at least remnants of someone

Some images here for reference too, I didn't know or forgot but the Shadow Kids do have the same sense of fashion as our beloved RK apparently (photos taken from a first person mod and I don't have the tools to find a model of them). They appear to have at least one model (with the shackle) and at least 3 masks iirc.

I'm gunna be fixating and researching everything about these ignored boss enemies even worse now great but I need some answers and theories man. Any help for resources or your thoughts and theories would be wonderful to hear! If you'll excuse me I'm gunna need to replay the dlc and LN1 again later
