Love going to the dentist and being told very casually that if I want to keep my chipped tooth and have a crown on it, it'll cost me over a grand, but if I just want it out, it'll cost me over a hundred quid.

It's such a great choice especially after desperately ringing every local NHS dentist yesterday just to find out they can't see me for a month or aren't accepting new patients, and having to resort to private if I want something done about the tooth infection within the week.

Insane that teeth are exempt from "cradle to grave" in this country.

It's always so weird to come down from the biology heavens to see what the average person believes about animals, plants, ecosystems, just the world around them. I don't even mean things that one simply doesn't know because they've never been told or things that are confusing, I'm talking about people who genuinely do not see insects as animals. What are you saying. Every time I see a crawling or fluttering little guy I know that little guy has motivations and drive to fulfill those motivations. There are gears turning in their head! They are perceiving this world and they are drawing conclusions, they are conscious. can we please talk about how them mentioning eddie breaking contact with tommy after the breakup right before tommy admits that eddie was his competition was actual explicit foreshadowing of eddie's pov that we're finally going to see. it's the first outsider perspective we've had that has hinted at buck's feelings not being unrequited other than eddie himself breaking his own walls down enough to admit that leaving him is not nothing and he matters to him

the thing about trying to recommend fiction podcasts to someone who isn't familiar with them is that not only are so so many genres represented but also the level of production can fall anywhere from "basically an audiobook" to "major motion picture minus the pictures"

actually more on my buck loves gushing with ravi rather than just to ravi agenda. he's like so relieved not only to have someone who understands but someone who won't accuse him of being in love with eddie if he speaks about him a little too long. ravi never even accused him of that in the first place before he got the whole eddie thing which means it's so totally normal to be so !!!! about eddie and that was never a question to ravi so buck is just enjoying his carefree isn't eddie great time. meanwhile ravi is like i'm not in love with eddie but i'm not not in love with him and the only reason probably is that i don't have a chance when buck's here. and he thinks buck is just really enjoying having someone to vent to about being in love with eddie which is so completely the opposite of what buck thinks is going on. and one day ravi is like desperate for a new story he hasn't heard about eddie before and it doesn't even have to be heroic it could be like that he went out to get orange juice for breakfast because buck really wanted it so he goes buck hey buck when did you realise you were in love with eddie like is there a story behind it. and he's soooo excited to share this with buck who is like actually a really good friend now he thinks and oh. buck just threw up everywhere. huh. weird.

i think there's something insane about the "you really did that for me" / "yeah. yeah, you and christopher." besides the most obvious points.

cause we've always said that buck and eddie tend to use christopher as a barrier to telling each other how they really feel about one another - aka the will for example. classic example of "i feel forever about you" "this is the most precious part of me, and i'm trusting you with it because i know you'll honor it." "he's my heart walking outside my body and he can rest with you because you'll keep him safe." and all those other things.

but this is the first real conversation where...eddie's finally having a realization on-screen that it's not just christopher that buck would do anything for. he knows buck would do literally anything for christopher. everyone knows that. this is not new information. but for him to be so shocked that buck, despite them "fighting", could do such a big thing for him - eddie's not using that barrier of chris between them in that moment. he's like...you did that for me. because buck did. he saw eddie stressed, compounded by his own behavior (intentional or not) and he fixed it all in one fell swoop.

but it is interesting that buck is the one that throws that "and christopher" in between them again, almost like he's kinda trying to distance them in a sense. maybe to preemptively protect himself from eddie leaving, and yeah, they're closer than they were the whole episode in that scene, but at the same time, there's only a split second when all the guards fall, just before they're stacked back up again.

Rule follower Eddie really makes me laugh so hard, even if you ignore the literal underground fighting ring bc he was grieving and not acting rationally Eddie has never been a rule follower in his life. He was underage drinking, he quit dance and church even though his parents didn't want him to. He was a teenage parent! He ran off to war and didn't go to college, he went to LA where he showed up and immediately was doing crazy things at work despite being technically a probie. He kicks in hotel doors when drunk. Eddie is very concerned with doing the right thing and what he considers to be his responsibilities but he is not and has never been a rule follower
