pov i revive an old project from 2021 because i watched one sorry boys video

this is the 'rustout au', its a combination of TWD, fallout 4, and rust but i shoved silly block men (and ted nivison) in it. essentially its a zombie apocalypse au that takes place at some time in the 80s or 90s following a nuclear fallout that occurred due to undisclosed government activities with foreign global superpowers. none of the normal civilians really know why the nukes went off and only a few of the most wealthy in the community really were able to get down to the bunkers in time

there are a ton of characters i want to include in this au, but considering i made this in the peak of the dsmp fandom i have to be kinda careful to not pick out any ccs who are still a part of dream's posse.. :pensive:

so far, the other characters in this au who aren't displayed here are fundy, techno, philza, bizly, grizly, condi, connor, jack, eret, and a few others i cant think of rn >_<

some character information below ^-^

WILBUR G. SOOT - the widowed father to fundy. wilbur lived in a house in a suburban neighborhood with his teen aged son before the nukes went off. once the initial fallout occurred, will and fundy had an argument about where they should shelter. the day after the argument, wilbur awoke to find fundy had completely disappeared. grief stricken at the loss of another family member (under the impression that he was the reason fundy had 'ran off'), wilbur risked his safety to search for his son, traveling from settlement to settlement. he hated himself and blamed himself for his son's disappearance. by this point, he wanted to lie in the dirt and rot with the corpse of the land below him

TOMMY ZA - the adoptive son of phil, a single child. tommy was at school during the blasts, thus he was separated from his father. he and the rest of his school were ushered to the basement following the explosions to protect them from fallout. when given the all clear, tommy ran down barren streets to find his way home, and never did. too frantic and unable to navigate his way properly, he became stranded and lost. the crushing anxiety of being alone seemed to summon a taller man with a guitar case from a local town. he had found himself wandering into tommy's neighborhood. and therein, an alliance was formed.

"RANBOO" - ranboo is a mysterious creature who doesn't really appreciate questions about his history. tommy and wilbur found him a month or two into constructing their own settlement. ranboo was found uncomfortably asleep in a cramped car not far off from Dome. he was rudely awakened with a violent mugging from tommy. wilbur caught up to the shorter brit and apologized for his actions, suggesting that ranboo could stay at their camp as compensation for the troubles that tommy had brought to ranboo. ranboo reluctantly agreed and now is a part of the dome's settlement. tommy speculates ranboo is secretly a mentally mutated creature-freak-thing and must be put down immediately, ranboo just wants to eat dinner in peace.

CHARLIE SICKLE - charlie is the latest member to join the settlement. the former front man for the hit pop group Roll With You. during an england tour, the nukes went off and front man charlie had been stranded during his burger lunch break. separated from the rest of his band mates. charlie has faced deterioration in his mental state due to the stress of surviving during such a gruesome time period. by the time wilbur finds himself at the receiving end of charlie's gun, he is already unhinged. wilbur manages to talk charlie into submission carefully, and decides to see if he can form a fragile alliance with charlie for some sort of twisted protection. charlie agrees, as he is so *sick* of being alone. charlie simply insists he is just a silly billy, everybody else thinks hes clinically insane

DOME- dome is a passive settlement founded by wilbur soot to bring in local survivors and give them a small and safe community to rebuild humanity. although this is a large goal in such a hostile and dangerous situation, tommy gives wilbur hope to keep going. who knows, maybe while scouting for survivors, they could stumble across phil or fundy

TED - ted is a serial killer, plain and simple. hired by schlatt to be a bodyguard after the fallout, ted had escaped his cinder block hell to essentially be a guard dog thanks to the nukes. it turns out prisons arent explosion-proof. ted is silent, he doesnt speak much, but he has a clear cut focus on what he wants. when he does speak, he talks clearly and normally. mostly, about his travels with his good buddy 'eddie nine pins', whom he apparently did everything with before getting caught

J. SCHLATT - schlatt is a larger than life business mogul, the ceo of a handful of companies that produce clothes, products, music, etc. hes an incredibly creative and intuitive man who knows how to get what he wants. he is the forefront leader of his settlement in the bunker. schlatt is falsely married to quackity, both of them agreeing to commit marriage fraud when they initially entered the world of entrepreneurship as it looks better and improves both of their charisma in social situations. their 'marriage' is entirely superficial and loveless, purely for aesthetics

A. QUACKITY - you might say quackity is a strange last name, he'd tell you to mind your own business and call you poor in two different languages. quackity runs a small 'medicine' dealing business on the surface. in exchange for fancy goods and food, quackity will give out medicine to needy survivors with no real idea of what any of it does. indirectly, quackity has killed 15+ people with his medication and harmed countless others. he doesnt feel bad, as long as he gets something out of it. he's been spoiled by his previously lavish life and just can't stand to let it all go

TOBY "TUBBO" SCHLATT - tubbo is the adoptive son of schlatt. while schlatt opted to adopt tubbo purely for aesthetics, just as he did with his marriage, he ended up getting somewhat attached to the little guy (and so did quackity). adopted at the age of 13, tubbo was quickly exposed to the inside mechanisms of business, the lying and cheating that goes on behind the retina and he has no interest in becoming a mogul like his father. rather, he opts for weapon studies and collecting a massive arsenal of different types of guns and bombs. tubbo sees the fallout as more of a playground than anything, being able to collect and test as many 'toys' as he wants. tubbo and tommy have crossed paths on several occasions, wherein they both will have a bit of a scuffle until theyre tired, then sit and talk. they consider each other friends, and neither of them know of the conflict between schlatt and wilbur

THE BUNKER - the bunker was once a safe haven for the one percent in england, but only a week into shelter, everybody was slaughtered. quackity and schlatt performed a hostile takeover of the bunker for no greater reason than the fact they wanted more space and more liberties. theyve now claimed the entire bunker as their home, and they want to see how far they can expand their power and control.

Hello!!! Would absolutely love to know if you have any personal headcanons of each dsmp character appearance i.e the hybrid types they may be? (Is Dream human? Or is he some kind of goat-hybrid? Or shapeshifting blob??!)

for c!dream, he's either human or a rabbit hybrid to me! i tend to think that 'just human' is more canon, if you will, but rabbit hybrid is kinda my favorite. i think it's very fitting, as someone who has a rabbit! i specifically see him as a light brown flemish giant or a palomino rabbit, leaning more towards the latter!

c!wilbur is usually also just a guy but if i give him animal features, in my head he's based off a secretary bird!

c!bad is a very tall demon man. c!ant is basically just a cat except a little bigger. think puss in boots. that's ant to me.

c!puffy and c!schlatt are both sheep! a cotswold and a jacob's sheep respectively.

c!tubbo is a goat i guess because it's popular headcanon but honestly? i see him as his minecraft skin. he is just some blonde teenager to me. same with c!tommy. you could find both of them at a mall or whatever.

c!skeppy to me is like.... a diamond construct thing. or at the very least, some kind of diamond based imp. but generally i see him as this small construct! kinda like a copper golem but skeppy.

i dig the idea of a pig hybrid c!niki (i love pigs) but generally she's either human and pretty buff or i'll go with the cat hybrid thing!

c!tina is a jackalope demon thing masquerading as a cat girl. c!hbomb is, hear me out, a cow hybrid also masquerading as a cat girl. this makes sense in my head.

then a lot of my opinions do fall in line with fanon opinion for the most part. like, yeah, phil is a blond dude with wings. techno is obviously a pigman. same for the rest of the dteam (though i kinda have a thing with c!george being part warden 'cause of how much he sleeps, don't ask but they're also both blue coded so). c!sam is obviously a creeper hybrid of some kind.

i want so badly to have c!eret be a swan or peafowl hybrid because those are so elegant and especially peafowl have some amazing colorations that scream royalty but i do dig the herobrine lore connection.

if i had my way, c!jack would be a cyborg donkey hybrid, specifically a mammoth jackstock. it would look so sick.

I feel like in general c!sbi got butchered in most common fanfiction trends because writers tended to forgo their canon relationships for much more...cookie cutter ones I guess? There's the bio family fics where Techno, Tommy, and Wilbur are all Phil's kids, the dark fics where Phil is a violently abusive parent to Wilbur and Tommy, the fics where they're portrayed as a seemingly evil group of 'good guys', etc. And there's nothing wrong with people writing these fics, I don't have issues with the individual authors, but it's tiring when these ideas become large enough that they tend to overtake works based off of their actual dynamics. Like. Phil's attempted kindness but complete lack of understanding or connection to Wilbur is interesting!! Tommy, bearing no relation to Phil, being the one to try to bridge the distance between them and being the only person to seek out his advice is interesting! Tommy and Wilbur not being biological brothers who weren't raised together adds layers to their dynamic! Techno's shifting relationship with Tommy over the course of Pogtopia to Doomsday was interesting!!

I also may be off base on this, but I feel like more often than not when an author cracks out 'The Dream Team' as the main antagonists, they're much more likely to have completely different characterization than if an author chose one of them to focus on. IDK. I think many people try to look for tropes to slot characters into, and having multiple characters with complex relationships treated in that way tends to make the results more egregious.

mmhm mmhm -- i'd say that the cc dynamics kiiiiiinda influence a lot here shrug. the idea of "sbi versus dteam" has its roots in conflicts that are decidedly not based on the dream smp roleplay, honestly, and a lot of that carried over into the fanworks that were supposedly based on the dream smp but really took a lot of creative liberties dabbling in elements of both rpf and fic about the server itself.

not that that's a bad thing, or anything! people can write what they want, etc. but it sure did lead to a lot of err misleading? i guess? "advertising" when it came to people's "dsmp AUs" -- maybe confusing is a better word. like, look ooc-ness is something that every fandom has to deal with, but in most fandoms fanon isn't so obviously based on what is still the fandom, but like. a part of the fandom that's technically kinda separated from the fiction of the fandom. most of the time with actors they don't necessarily have a whole career founded on their playing a persona with other people in a context that ISN'T acting yknow? or maybe there is it's not like id know lmao

but yeah the phenomenon of bleedover from cc personas is all too real in this fandom, for better and for worse

overall, i thinks it pretty cool! as long as there is an ez translation somewhere, easy to understand without a translation, or if it’s not done in a way that bi/multilinguals absolutely would not speak B)

If I'm entirely honest, even if I get that all fandoms love angst, I find it kinda tiring, especially when it comes to MCRP, because I got into MCRP partly to get away from the angsty shit. And that's still what I tend to want from it, and it feels like the perfect medium for more lighthearted and tongue-in-cheek stuff, because it's so inherently goofy lbr, but I guess people just love angst so much that they just gotta make everything about the angst

Not that I can't appreciate the angst too, sometimes, but there's been so much of it on QSMP lately. This is what frustrated me about DSMP too, when it just kept getting angstier and angstier and bleaker and bleaker...

I mean it's not that I think ALL MCRP has to be lighthearted, I would never wanna arbitrarily limit any medium like that, it's mostly just me being frustrated with the general tendency where I get into some series because it's funny and lighthearted but also has a cool story going on, and then inevitably it ALWAYS seems to get super angsty and often lose the things that made it appealing to me in the first place. I used to get this a lot with webcomics and now I'm getting it with MCRP

Jungryeok's introduction yesterday was a breath of fresh air tbh, didn't need to worry about any of the angst for several hours, just people chilling and having fun (even tho I was kind of overwhelmed too lol)

I'd like to enjoy Phil's streams the same way, and he does generally do his best to keep things lighthearted (even when it's his own angst he tends to not take it very seriously), but the angsty storylines keep intruding on his chill vibes too, you can't chill when you know what's actually going on in other POVs

(also the FOMO is too strong, I ended up watching Bagi and Tubbo instead of Phil yesterday because I wanted to know what happened and then I also kept checking in on Bad's POV when I realised he was live etc. I know that's my own fault, I should just not watch them when they're being angsty if I don't want angst but I still care about the characters and the story orz)

(And I want to check the tags on Tumblr and I want to see what other people are posting about QSMP, but the angst is even more impossible to avoid in fandom spaces, also it makes you very conscious about how people feel about Phil and his character so then you're even more stressed out when you watch his streams because any time he says something because he doesn't know any better or because he's assuming that the server is primarily meant for fun and not to be taken overly seriously, you know people are gonna rant about it, and then you have to once again quarantine yourself from the fandom to avoid being annoyed, which is boring)

It's the same problems I had with DSMP...

But at the same time I can't get the multilingual experience on Hermitcraft, I remember the other day seeing Iskall and Keralis talk and I found myself wondering for a second why they weren't speaking Swedish to each other (dw I did realise it very quickly lol) because I'd gotten so used to seeing people switching languages based on who they were talking to

The language stuff is 100% what I would miss the most if I dropped QSMP

I mean I would miss the roleplay too, I do enjoy the roleplay. And the eggs. And the characters in general. But yknow, there's other roleplay series out there, the multilingual aspect is harder to find

What are your ideas on the differences between a human and a demon, I've seen many many many many differing interpretations and I wanna collect them all like Pokémon cards

I have a couple thoughts on this actually!!!!

So first off the big ones, physically there's a bunch of differences between humans and demons, and even between demons themselves!

To me, humans generally follow like IRL rules and shit like that, but theres additional things that kinda come with minecraft mechanics. Obviously theres respawn, but i personally attribute that to some kind of supernatural occurrences or very specific circumstances. In the case of the QSMP there's cannon vs non-cannon/in-universe deaths, but i also like to keep the Federation in mind - they obviously have some sort of hand in the life cycle on quesadilla island, with the eggs having two lives and whatnot, and being able to briefly bring them back to speak with their parents before being sent off to the afterlife. I personally think humans have IRL mechanics, but organizations like the Federation or even sometimes standalone experimental organizations can have a hand in trying to affect the human life cycle.

We have god-like beings, angels and ferrymen of death and whatnot, and i cant help but remember the Hunger Games lore where more than one life wasnt given which is cannon to the QSMP. I also like to consider the DSMP, which is semi-cannon, where they had multiple "cannon" lives (as opposed to the QSMP where they have one "cannon" life from what we've seen) and Ghosts and resurrections and all that, human life from what ive seen is not only fragile but flexible! Can be broken but also can be bent!

I got a little side tracked but point is: humans - one life (unless interfered with) Demons - not one life! (Bad follows a death/rebirth cycle/We dont know how mouse and tina operate/etc.)

Other physicalities I consider is humans are generally pretty realistically sturdy, they easily lose limbs but can wear prosthetics, and with the help of magic they can be immune to certain things (Still organizing my thoughts on Fit's recent lore - might think abt that more later).

Demons are not only sturdier (Bad/Mouse/tina/dapper/pomme/emmie having generally neutral reactions to radiation, obviously bad and dapper arent doing the best but theyre fairing MUCH better than a human would in their condition) but i like to imagine they can shape shift a little? we know the eggs generally like to hc bad as a shapeshifter that can get bigger/smaller, but he has consistent features he cant really get rid of as far as we've seen like his horns and tail. When i draw him, i generally vary his horn shape/length and change his body type and height a little in every drawing on purpose, but also i like extending this to the other demons! Mouse and Tina obviously look more human, but like cc!tina has talked about how she likes q!tina to have huge fucking knockers and i like to imagine they can change that themselves, it just makes sense to me! There are limitations to it, in my mind the horns are a consistent and identifying feature on them that they cant really change without a TON of practice. But the rules are bendy, ykwim? they can be more or less animalistic, swap physically gendered traits, shift from nails to claws, etc.

As far as cannon things go, we know demons generally have a better nose and all smell like sulfur, humans smell different to them, probably like BO or something lol

Thinking magic wise, humans obviously dont experience a ton of it, but magic is everywhere! In the air, on your skin, and thats to say i just think its funny to imagine that demons can be summoned by saying their name 5 times kjbhvjbn

Culturally, demons are definitely a lot different not only from humans but from one another and i think thats entirely based on their upbringing! I could write a lot about that, but the first thing off the top of my head is like their clothing i guess? We see from mouse and bad's clothing they tend to wear pretty gear-like clothing, i guess is how you could describe it? I like to imagine belts and buckles are something theyre used to wearing, maybe for aesthetic reasons, maybe for mechanical reasons! Maybe in hell you gotta carry a lotta small shit, or rock climbing is a popular activity, who knows!

Demon culture as well to me includes horn pride, ykwim? They care for and polish their horns, paint them for celebrations and decorate them with jewelry! Theres popular standard colors like black and white but choosing something more extravagant is common! Like matching your hair color if you have it dyed a fun color, staining it, painting it patterned for birthdays or holidays. Maybe its like homestuck purpleblood facepaint rules, where showing your bare horns is something you do with special people you trust a lot? Thats something very cute to me.

Also! Mentioned this in another post! i like the idea of Pool noodle jail!! Putting pool noodles on the horns of baby demons who cant stop headbutting eachother! thats adorable to me!!

I saw your post asking about mcyt lore so uhhhh *takes a deep breath

Mcyt is actually a pretty big category of fandom, cause different minecraft servers have different roleplays or storylines, but if it's related to tcw I'm willing to take a bet that it's specifically about the life series. Not sure why really? A lot of the characters and stories just line up really well with the songs I guess.

Basically for the life series it's kinda like a remixed version of regular hardcore minecraft. Each player gets 3 lives, and if you lose all 3 you die for good. When you're on your first and second life (green and yellow respectively), you're not allowed to kill anyone and your goal is just to survive. When you reach your red life however, your goal switches to killing green or yellow players, and then other reds when there's no one left. Also the world is pretty restricted to like???? 700x700 blocks I think??? So players can't just get away from each other.

The rules up there are the basic rules of the first season (third life). They had a bunch of other seasons afterwards that change the rules up (health syncing with other players, trading lives, a timer instead of lives, etc etc) but the main premise of the game is the same: you kill on your last life, and if you run out of lives you're gone for good.

The story is based a lot more on improv than some other series (namely dsmp or empires) but i feel like the improv adds to the charm? You never know what happens next and that's what makes the parallels and cool moments so much more memorable. I think the whole theme of betrayal and death and alliances just mesh really, really well with crane wives music. Like if your entire story revolves around complicated feelings with your friends and enemies over several lifetimes and choices then half of tcw's discography will probably apply to you

Intrudusing: Tntduo-based DSMP Glee AU

(Cuz why do one interest when you can have two in one)

The premise of this is that it’s a highschool AU but with singing and absolutely bonkers logic. You can have an aggressive sing-off in a parking lot, the glee club no one likes and has no budget can get any decorations they want and the only way to resolve personal conflict is singing it in front of a room full of people

Quackity and Wilbur are the leaders of two rival clubs. They meet without that knowledge and immediately take a liking to each other but when it turns out they’re competitors they immediately start the enemies arc, both feeling like they have been betrayed.

The only charecters then get direct correlations are the teachers with:

Technoblade as the coach of the football team and the only adult you can trust in this goddamn school

Phil as the coach of the Glee club/ geography teacher, as adult you think you can trust but no, he’ll give you some real dumb advice

Dream as the celebrity coach of the cheer team, ruthless and uncaring for the lives of others

Glee can’t really function without the adults of the show but they’re not what I really care about. So, the kids:

The New Directions glee club containing:

Wilbur Soot, default to leader of the club and most avid member. School’s resident weird guy who smokes upder the bleachers and got a freshman knocked up (that’s only a rumor tho). He’s a full-on mess, currently obsessed with the leader of the club they compete with, the Dalton academy Warblers

Tommy, Tubbo and Ranboo, all honorary members that mostly just hang out in the club after school. They’re from the neighbor middle school and they do make a pretty rad quartet so that let them practice and even preform sometimes.

Jack, Eret and Nikki, actual members of the glee club. Talented, cool, that’s our supporting cast

Fundy, youngest member of glee club, I lied about no one having a direct correlation, he’s the Tina (poor girl doesn’t get a solo that isn’t interrupted for an entire season)

George and Sapnap, the evil cheerleaders in cahoots with Dream that infiltrate the glee club so they disband. They don’t really get the redemption arcs the cheerleaders in the show do cuz I don’t care enough about them

And then we have

Quackity, a Dalton Academy Warbler, which is the glee club of a lovely posh-ass private school where the glee club is actually cool.

Karl is also there.

Eventually Q transfers and has to fight with Will for leading parts or something. Also Q’s a cheerleader because duh.

A little piece I also did for the “W is a cheerleader thing, here’s them doing “Grease” and here’s them singing idk if that even counts

My opinion on fem c!wilbur headcanons even though no one asked

doing this bc I saw someone else do it and I have nothing better to do and I want to talk abt c!wilbur

I used to carry this headcanon back in 2022 when I remember it being most popular (or maybe it’s bc that’s when I first got access to the fandom over on twitter and here) but I kinda only did bc everyone else did it and I don’t know why 😭 I rlly had no sense of individualism back then i guess but I was easy to influence bc I thought ppl would get mad at me for the smallest things (still me today 😛)

I don’t carry anymore and I really don’t care for it at all. Personally to me it started getting kinda stale in a way? Not in like a “I hate it solely because it’s popular” way just that I never personally cared for it that much so I really have no interest in it. (also probably bc I only had it as a headcanon bc everyone else did) I’m also the type of person to project things onto my favorite character so I basically project my transmasc-ness onto c!wilbur and that’s the only way I can see him now (he’s just like me fr)

I’m not sure how popular it still is today but I never really see too many posts about it (especially after dsmp ended and cc!wilbur soot was outed as a abuser) but for a while I do remember it being a super popular headcanon.

(also does anyone else remember there being discourse on twitter abt it? Like I swear I saw some ppl fighting over it bc someone said they didn’t rlly like it but that’s just average twitter behavior)

I personally don’t interpret him in that way anymore like I already said but I have nothing against the ppl who do and I can see why (bc of things said on streams mainly during pogtopia if i’m correct)

I think it’s funny tho how that became the most popular headcanon for him when cc!wilbur hates women (and probably trans people if I had to guess based on how he lied to all of us abt supporting women) bc it would probably make him pissed off to see people taking his cis male character (in his eyes) and making him feminine or transfem so great job guys

final thoughts like I said I don’t rlly care for it anymore I just have my own personal headcanons that I stick by. I hope this post doesn’t come off as hateful it’s not my intention at all :(

It’s so sad to see I was never a huge Q fan but I followed him and tuned into streams on occasion and liked his collaborations with dteam and like DSMP stuff and I guess I just assumed based on who he claimed his friends were that he was a good guy who had good views he associates with Karl who makes fun of people like this and Dream who actively denounces people like this and encourages people to not be like this and to listen and change I guess I just assumed he was similar to them but considering they’ve all said he doesn’t tell them anything I have to wonder what he was so secretive about and I feel like we are seeing in real time in the last 2-3 weeks what his views really are and it’s kinda heartbreaking but I guess as we saw last week and before he’s fine with his fans sending gore and racism and genuine death threats and doxxing people even ccs who he at one point claimed to be friends with I can’t even say he’s spineless I think he just doesn’t see anything wrong at this point

i was talking with a friend about this how like you think you know someone and then to see yourself be proven so wrong is devastating.

Just tuned in for a minute and am kinda shocked. I thought he was shooting for something that was genuine horror? Like I get the cheesy schtick that is being demonstrated and that’s not for everyone (and plenty entertaining for others which is fair) but it’s also not what it was marketed to be lol. It just feels like a let down. Even though I stopped enjoying Ranboo’s content I tried to stay openminded for gen loss because he’s been working on it for so long, and he seemed to be passionate about it, but that was just… not what I expected it to be and not in a good way

i personally think that ranboo did a great job portraying serious interactions and situations on the dsmp which is right now basically his only past work i have to compare to genloss so i can really honestly agree with you here on the sentiment that treating genloss like a goofy ass comedy show for youtube kids was a huge disappointment to me too and i dont even watch the guy anymore LOL so i totally understand where youre coming from. i think ranboo couldve done something really really good with this horror aspect he hyped it up to be, i mean if hes basing it off the fanworks with all the glitches and blood and disturbed themes most genloss fanart had youd think his set would at least be dimly lit, red lights instead of harsh yellow 💀maybe a little more rundown and disturbing, his demeanor not so uncaring and dismissive. and though i can appreciate both serious horror and like. whatever the hell he has going on rn i think that hes just a little bit out of water with this one. as long as he is happy i guess !

Predictions for Round 3 MCYT sexyman

(NGL didn't know this was happening yet so this'll be my first go around voting tomorrow lol)

Scar, not even close. Schlatt is a good contender but the Scar hype is insane.

Thinking Captain Sparkles might win but I really hope Techno pulls through. Regardless, I see this being pretty close. Techno is the one I hope to see win the whole thing but I don't think it's meant to be. If Cap Sparkles loses then I think it's the most honorable way he will go out. Ngl I kinda think this match up would have been better Round 4 but I'm not complaining either.

I'm not really in the Hermitcraft fandom but, based on what my dash looks like, Ima have to go Doc over Syemetry.

Ren only because I have no clue whom Oli is. I know the name but I see a lot more Ren love on my dash.

Cleo and Eret are gonna have a pretty close game I bet. I'm thinking Cleo will win but I'd like Eret to.

Pearl and Philza will likely be close. I'm thinking Pearl maybe? Philza is a great contender but the love for Pearl is astounding.

BDubz and LD Shadowlady is an intresting match up. BDubz is probably gonna come out on top cause he's a fan favorite. Shadowlady might not make it because she's more nostalgia based than BDubz. She does good stuff now but her hype has died down.

Joel and Ranboo is probs gonna be Ranboo. He was pretty predominant back in the DSMP days. I wouldn't be surprised if Joel puts up a fight but overal I'm decently confident in Ranboo. Regardless of who wins here, they're 100% winning round 4.

Ethos 100% beating Aimsey and I will be sad about that. I like Ethos from what I've seen about him but I'm biased. I've been listening to a lot of Aimsey stuff recently.

Scott and Jimmy is gonna be close too. I'd like Scott to win but Jimmy is likely gonna overtake him. I think out of all of these this is the one I'm least confident in my guess.

Mumbo seems like the obvious first pick but I'm thinking Impulse will pull this real close. Mumbo will likely still be on top but it might be closer than we think.

Idek who is going against Charlie. Pixlriffs is a name I haven't heard. Charlie is a good sexyman candidate so Ima have to go with him based on his own qualifications.

Joe Hills 100% winning against Xisuma. With the amount of campaigns I've seen for Joe... no shot he loses here.

Wilbur and Tango I feel is gonna be neck and neck. I think Tango might win because, again, he's a fan favorite. I think we all know that Wilbur is the pinnacle of a Tumblr sexyman though. Also, the TNT Duo art that was buzzing around? Idk, I think Tango is a great candidate but Wilbur does sexyman better. Yk what, Ima have faith and make my guess Wilbur.

Grain is 100% winning against Keralis. No question about it.

MythicalSausage is another name I don't know so tbh I'm not sure how he stacks up against Quackity. All I know is there's plenty of love for Myth Saus. This is an uneducated guess but I think he might beat Quackity.

I honestly hate to bring a more negative topic into fandom discussion again but there’s been something that’s been a constant in the dsmp fandom for as long as I’ve been in it and I just feel like having a little rant. Don’t mind me if you’re not here for that.

If you’ve been in the fandom for any amount of time (or at least since I joined late 2020) fun fandom catchphrases such as “the fandom is dying” “the smp is going downhill” and “the fandoms got so much worse” have surely been a common occurrence. How very fun and quirky :|

This kinda talk has always aggravated me so much and I think I know how to verbalize why now. The dsmp was a very strange internet phenomenon for a short while. Hell, all three of my very non-nerdy siblings got very into it. At a point it was practically everyone’s thing. My question is where the fuck do ppl think it’s going past that? Certainly not up, and very unlikely everyone from that wave would love it forever. The fandom isn’t dying it’s losing weight. At no point would any experienced fandom nerd ever call what we have a dead or dying fandom.

And sure it’s upsetting when a fandom begins to split and form separate bubbles, but what do you expect of such an enormous group of people? If a person thinks the fandom is worse now honestly I’d just say they aren’t curating their experience thoroughly enough, I guess that’s harder on Twitter and Tiktok but don’t blame the whole fandom for that shit. And especially don’t host “I’m not in this fandom anymore but I’m still mad at it” discussions in our fandom tags. (Looking at a select few tiktok videos I’ve seen recently)

I guess my main point is that if you looked at fandom popularity as a graph people are so obsessed with the popularity being a perfect straight line forever or even getting more popular as it goes but that is just not how everything works. Especially an independent creative project based on individual peoples motivation. I’m gonna get a bit existential here but oh “The fandom has just been slowly dying as it goes on :’(” . . . Yeah and so are you. Slow decay of things over time is quite literally the most natural progression for anything. There’s erosion and decay until only the most resilient pieces are left. And I say that with all the love of two years of the most passion and inspiration I’ve ever experienced for a fandom in my heart. We live, we experience, we change, that’s just how our silly brains work. Oh god, this is getting way too deep for a rant about minecraft men but god damn it decay is not something to fear. Let the fandom go through its life cycle, why would you want to focus on the erosion when you could focus on how beautifully polished what is left is becoming? Its ok to have a bad experience with a fandom and be angry about it but projecting that back at the fandom in such a general and aggressive way especially from outside of it always does more harm then good. Please stop telling me my community and greatest comfort is dying, we’re right here.

Ok, so I’ve had this idea for a DSMP oc running through my head for waaaaayyyy too long, but I don’t have time for getting round to writing anything so you guys get to hear about him instead. (Also tw I guess for references to torture, only tiny but yeah)

Name: Bailey (Bayleaf) Luckerson

Age: Seventeen

Gender: Male

Personality: Bailey is an outgoing and loud character, preferring to joke around and act happy rather than express his emotions. He is a bit of a class clown type, and can seem a bit stupid at times. He refuses to back down from a fight and enjoys causing chaos by playing pranks on others. Baileys outlet is music, if he can’t hide his emotions, or just wants to get away from life for a bit, he will play guitar. (That was before all the events of the DSMP and all that)

And then kinda a summary ig:

During the SWAG2020 vs POG2020 election, Bailey stood by Wilbur and Tommy, playing a part in advertising, and trying to get people to vote for POG2020. Schlatt seemed to have quite a vendetta against him, as Bailey grieved his base, and was a general pain in the ass. 

After SWAG2020 and COCONUT2020 joined and won the election, and Wilbur and Tommy were exiled, Bailey was taken into custody by Schlatt. He was shoved in a prison for a week, kept on very low hearts. Once Manberg was properly running, Schlatt began publicly torturing Bailey, drowning him in-front of the citizens of Manberg. This went on daily for weeks, Bailey feeling more and more betrayed by his peers, no one came to visit, or to help. Tubbo and Fundy would not acknowledge him, and the only visitor he had was Sapnap. The torture continued, until eventually, Schlatt got distracted, and Bailey drowned, loosing his second canon life.(lost his first when Eret betrayed L’manberg)

When Bailey woke up, on his last life, he was quite different. Due to the nature of his death, he began to resemble a drowned zombie. Patches of Baileys skin was turning green, a zombie rough texture. The left side of his face was particularly affected. Ironically, after that, Bailey had a deep seated fear of bodies of water. He would grow panicked and have panic attacks whenever he was near/in water. And he becomes kinda sadistic/sarcastic and almost a player, think Lucifer Morningstar. Also gets pushed to the edge of insanity.

But then! He has this whole retribution arc after trying to get revenge on those who he deemed necessary, probably almost died multiple times, but eventually goes on a ✨✨character development arc✨✨

Anyways, that was probably way to long for a first tumblr post, idk but idk what’s expected on here, so y’all get my amazing ramblings. So do what you want with this information…
