Ellie knocked on your door for the third time that morning. The first one was before her morning run, the second one was after that and the third was once she was done in the bathroom.
When she heard no answer, she went in and opened the curtains right away. “Get up, it’s the same every morning.”
You covered your face with the blankets to avoid the sun, saying, “Give me five more minutes,” but Ellie wouldn’t have it.
She got on the bed and shook you. “You have practice in an hour; I’m not letting you leave without breakfast, and then you’ll complain I didn’t wake you up,” she said. “Come on, get up.”
Sitting upright in bed, you let out a sigh, looked at the clock on the nightstand, and let out a moan. “Els, just give me five minutes.”
She shrugged and said, “Your call,” but before she could move, you grabbed her arm and drew her nearer to you.
“Lay down with me for those five minutes,” you requested, hugging her until you managed to lay her down beside you, even though she was fighting to break free. You didn’t want to let her go.
“Fine! Just five minutes, I’ll set the alarm, I have places to be,” she said, taking her phone out of her sweatpants pocket.
When she was done, you muttered, “Yeah, yeah, whatever, shut up,” and placed her phone on your bedside table. With a smile on your face, you raised the covers to allow Ellie to slide into them, encircling her waist with your arms and placing your head on her chest.
She was trying not to touch you with her free hand and you could hear how quickly her heart was beating, as if it was your first time sharing a bed. “You can give me a hug too,” you muttered.
With a clear throat, she said, “If that’s what you want.”
You appreciated that she was a little flustered, even if you couldn’t see her face. It was something you truly enjoyed doing to her.
She relaxed and soon fell asleep. Your plan was to sleep too, but you were thinking about where she had to go when her classes didn’t start until 2 p.m. You turned around slowly and grabbed her phone, unlocking it.
¡Ding!
The notification startled you for a moment, almost making you scream. You quickly checked if Ellie woke up because of the sound, but she was asleep.
“You have to be kidding me,” you whispered, reading the notification from the panel.
Dina (Campus) : I’ll see you in an hour then! I truly want to try those croissants you’ve been talking about, and I also wan…
Rolling your eyes was the least you could do. You shook your head, going to the alarm and deactivating it. Dina was a big girl; she could eat those croissants alone. You hoped she choked on them.
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
The sound of the TV, the microwave, and your humming was enough to wake her up. She yawned and stretched out, all calm until she saw how late it was.
“Fuck!” Ellie said getting up from the bed and grabbing her phone “No,no,no…”
You were scrolling on your phone, having breakfast, hearing how she was going side to side. From the bathroom to her bedroom and vice versa until she came to the kitchen.
“Why didn’t you woke me up? I told you I had places to be!” she walked past you to the entrance to put her white sneakers on.
“Good Morning to you too” you said sarcastically “I thought it was your classes where you had to go, it’s 1 p.m, you still have time”
Ellie shook her head “No, it was something else! What are you doing here, tho? Shouldn’t you be at practice?”
“I woke up like 30 minutes before you, so” you shrugged “You’re not going to drive me to campus today?”
“Uh…” She was roaming through her backpack making sure she had everything “I can’t today, sorry but here, call an Uber”
She left some money on the table beside your plate before stealing on of your toasts “Bye, see you later!”
“She is joking, right?” you thought picking up the money. “Seriously, Ellie?!”
You yelled from the balcony, seeing Ellie running to her car
“Sorry, no time!” She yelled back getting into her car with her mouth full of the toast.
The thing is, Ellie was in a hurry. She had arranged to meet up with Dina for breakfast before class at a café she had suggested herself, and on top of that, she had overslept.
She started the car and began to drive. When she reached a red traffic light, she took the opportunity to call Dina, who answered almost immediately as if she had been waiting for her. She sounded a bit annoyed; after all, she had been waiting for her for a long time. But she understood that Ellie had overslept. She suggested they meet at the entrance of the building where they had their only class together.
Obviously, Ellie agreed, but she couldn’t go empty-handed. So, as soon as she arrived on campus, she went to the cafeteria, ordered two coffees, and some cookies that Dina had mentioned she liked yesterday.
“Ellie, you didn’t need to buy breakfast,” the dark-haired girl said, trying to hide her big smile. She grabbed the bag and chuckled softly, looking at the cookies. “Wow, you sure know how to apologize.”
“Sorry, again, for standing you up. It wasn’t my intention.”
“It’s okay. Next time, I’ll come pick you up at your place.”
Next time? That meant Dina wanted to keep meeting up. Ellie nodded energetically. By the time class started, they had finished breakfast, talked about different things, sat together, and also had small conversations during class.
“That’s all for today. Remember, we start presentations in two weeks. Goodbye,” the professor said, collecting his briefcase and leaving the classroom.
“Well, on Tuesday, I’ll pick you up, and we’ll go to a café to finish it?”
“Yeah, sounds good,” Ellie said, gathering her things. “See you tonight at the party?”
“Yes, but aren’t you going to the parking lot?” Dina asked, watching as Ellie walked in the opposite direction.
“No, I have one more class, and then I’m meeting a friend.”
Dina nodded, waving goodbye. Ellie didn’t have another class, but she usually waited for her outside hers to go eat together. She had no idea why she had said that.
Your building wasn’t far from hers, so in less than 20 minutes, she arrived. She went up to the second floor and could see people coming out of your class, and finally you, but behind you was Abby Anderson. Ellie saw how she grabbed your arm and pulled you away from the others. It seemed like you were arguing about something until you pushed her aside and quickly walked to the stairs.
“Ellie? I didn’t think you were going to come pick me up today. Never mind, let’s go!” you said, intertwining your arms, almost dragging her to get out of there quickly. “I think they’re serving carbonara pasta in the dining hall today. You love pasta, right? How great that it’s on the menu today.”
Ellie nodded, frowning as she glanced at Abby once more before leaving. She would ask you about it later…
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
“I don’t like it, I’ll just wear something else,” Ellie said, entering your room for the third time with a different outfit than before. You rolled your eyes at her. “Ellie, I’m going to hit you if you don’t decide,” you said, watching her with frustration as she seemed unable to choose her clothes for the party. “Who do you want to look so good for?”
“No one. Could you help me instead of judging?” she replied, tossing the shirt she was taking off towards you. You dodged it, laughing, before throwing it back at her.
“Cargo pants and a black top, good combo, simple and it looks great on you,” you suggested. A few minutes later, she came back into your room wearing the suggested outfit. “See? I never fail,” you said with a grin.
“Fine,” she said, sitting on your bed as she watched you apply makeup. You were wearing a brown top tied at the top with a bow and a denim mini skirt. Ellie couldn’t help but admire your body, especially your legs, and you could see her doing so in the mirror. With a smile, you turned to her, and her gaze shot up to your face.
“Let me do your makeup,” you said.
“Why?” she narrowed her eyes and shook her head as she watched you approach with a playful smile. “Okay, but only the eyeliner.”
“Kay. Close your eyes,” you requested, opening the black eyeliner as you positioned yourself between her legs. “I’m going to sit on you.”
“Is that necessary?” Ellie asked, opening her eyes slightly, to which you nodded.
“I’m not comfortable, and if I’m not comfortable, it won’t turn out well,” you said, sitting on her and starting to apply the makeup. The only sounds in the room were your breaths and the low music from the speaker. “So… where did you have to go early this morning?”
“I had something important,” Ellie said, almost stuttering. She didn’t expect you to ask anything, but why wasn’t she telling you the truth? Why did she feel weird mentioning that she had plans with Dina?
“Ah, really?” you responded vaguely, clicking your tongue.
“Yeah… And what were you talking about with Abby?”
“Something important,” you shrugged. “There, it’s done, open your eyes.”
Ellie opened them, blinking a bit, smiling sideways. “Does it look good on me?”
You nodded, still on top of her. You grabbed her cheeks and squeezed gently, making her lips press together, and asked, making eye contact with her, “Is it for Dina that you’re getting all dressed up?”
“Maybe”
“Are you planning to kiss her tonight?”
“Maybe?” Ellie was confused about where these questions were coming from and at the same time thinking about how well you knew her. Perhaps she shouldn’t have ‘hidden’ her meeting with Dina from you in the morning…
“When was your last kiss? Like four years ago, right? Wow, you’re rusty,” you teased.
“Well, let’s not exaggerate,” she replied, her cheeks turning pink, not only from your grip that was tightening more and more but also from the image that crossed her mind of kissing Dina.
“Do you want to practice?”
“I mean… I don’t want her to think that I don’t know how to kiss. I know how to; I’ve kissed a lot of girls.”
“You only kissed two girls: me, for your first kiss and your ex-girlfriend, Cat. The little kisses at some parties while playing ‘spin the bottle’ don’t count.”
“Well, they should because I kissed plenty of girls,” Ellie mumbled.
“Decide before I change my mind or suit yourself,” you said, finally releasing her.
Ellie bit her cheek from the inside before nodding. “Okay, let’s practice.”
You did not wait to join your lips to hers, starting a slow kiss with a slow peace. Your arms were resting on her shoulders, bringing her closer to you, and your hands were starting to play with her hair. You wanted to explore Ellie’s mouth; you needed to feel her.
The kiss became deeper, and you buried yourselves more into each other’s mouths eagerly, feeling your lips closer as if there was a need that must be fulfilled. Soon Ellie’s tongue found yours, and they intertwined, making you moan in the midst of the kiss.
That made Ellie press her hands that were on your thighs; she had liked that sound a bit too much. Slowly she began to slide her hands upward until she touched the hem of your skirt, which was hiked up due to the position you were in.
Your breaths became more ragged as the rythm of the kiss quickened, and you wanted to continue, but no. If you didn’t stop, Ellie wouldn’t learn, she wouldn’t learn that only you could kiss her like that, you had to keep her yearning for more of you.
So you had to cut it off and watch as Ellie tried to reconnect your lips; it was so satisfying, you had to stop her gently, “Wow, Els, calm down, this is practice,” you said in a joking tone, getting off her, patting her knee to get her attention. She was still lying on the bed with an embarrassed expression on her face. “There’s a party we have to attend, come on.”
You grabbed your minibag and left your room to the front door, and Ellie did nothing but get up and follow you, not without first processing what had just happened a few seconds ago.
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
Ellie opened the passenger door once you arrived so that you could get out of the car.
She had to park a bit far from the house, but from there, you could hear the music and there were already drunk people in the street as you walked towards the entrance. You walked with your arms intertwined as you told Ellie the most recent gossip you had heard in the locker room or that you had been told, and Ellie listened, reacting when she could put faces to the names.
“He said that it was Sarah’s underwear, and Sarah denied it, saying that she was not ghetto and that she would never wear that. Imagine who snapped? April!”
“The church girl with brown hair?”
“Yeah, that one! It was so messy because the previous day she was preaching about how she was going to see the pearly gates since she was one of the last ‘pure’ girls on the team.”
“No way!”
“Yes, way! She’s so dumb, I hate her and more with the fa-”
“Hi, Ellie.”
Oh, you were going to kill this bitch. Dina was sitting on the porch of the house with a glass in her hand; she had probably been there for a short time. She looked at Ellie with a wide smile that decreased when she looked at you.
“I’ll see you inside,” you said, letting go of Ellie and passing by Dina without saying anything. Once inside, you joined your group of friends who were already quite drunk; they all greeted you, some with mini hugs or two kisses before giving you a glass full of rum and cola, more rum than cola. “You all know me better than I know myself.”
“Of course we do, silly, we love you.” You let yourself fall into the couch, tasting the drink, when your eyes diverted to see Ellie and Dina finally entering the party, giggling and whispering in each other’s ears because of how loud the music was.
“I love you too, April!” You smiled in her direction, drank all the liquid in your cup in one go, and handed it to her. “Be a doll and refill this.”
April looked at the rest of the girls and then at you, grabbing it. “Slow down, we don’t want you to repeat the Anderson accident again.”
The ginger girl beside April pushed her slightly, looking at you with her eyes wide open and laughing awkwardly. “She doesn’t mean that.”
Your eye twitched looking at April go refill your drink; you were going to brush it off for now because you had better enemies to fight than her. You had a whole plan on how to snatch Ellie away from Dina, but it hadn’t been formulated clearly, and you didn’t like to act on impulse. Anyway, you were at a party, and you were going to enjoy it.
By the time it was 3 a.m., you were already dancing on the table and shouting the lyrics of the songs you knew, swaying your hips against whoever. You stepped aside for a moment, saying that you were going for another drink, jumping off the table almost falling to the floor, but you could only laugh; everything was funny to you at that moment, and you wasn’t even that drunk! You had high tolerance, only your tongue was kind of asleep and you were stumbling from time to time but you loved to play silly and pretend to be more gone then you really were.
You reached the kitchen, looking for a new glass in the cabinets because you had no idea where you had thrown yours, when you found one, you began to decide what liquor to drink with eeny, meeny, miny, moe, before someone took away the glass and took you somewhere no matter how much you protested. The other person had a strong grip, and no matter how vaguely you were saying to let you go, they didn’t.
“I can’t believe you have me added as Dina (Campus), how lame, I’m going to change it,” Dina said, changing her contact name, but Ellie, who had seen the situation, was not paying attention.
“As you wish,” Ellie murmured, watching you disappear to the second floor; that didn’t sit well with her.
“Done!” Dina smiled, returning the phone to its owner, but Ellie’s gaze seemed worried. “What’s wrong?”
“Wait for me here, yeah? I’ll be back,” Ellie said, grabbing her phone and following where she last saw you.
She went upstairs dodging some drunk people and the long wait line to enter the bathroom, trying to see if you were in any of them, walking in the hallway close to the door to see if she could hear your voice in any of them until one door abruptly opened and you came out of it with teary eyes but laughing. (What happened in the room?)
“Are you okay?” She asked. Hearing her voice surprised you.
“How long have you been there?” Depending on her answer, you had two reactions.
“I just got here, I was searching for you.”
There it was! The cherry on top of your plan. You hugged Ellie and started slowly sobbing, whispering in her ear, “I want to go home now, please…”
“Hey, what happened? what’s wrong?” Ellie asked, breaking the hug to look at you and wipe your tears with her thumbs. “Let’s go.”
She held your hand and walked to the stairs, turning her head for a moment to look at you once more, and her eyes saw the other person who was in the room with you. Abby Anderson.
Had she made you cry? She was lucky that Ellie was more concerned about getting you out of the party than beating her up.
“Wait, Ellie, my bag is in the living room with the team,” you said before she went outside.
“Oh, okay, wait here, I’ll get it for you then.” You nodded and waited until you couldn’t see her to fucking smile because of your victory.
“Hey,” a touch on your shoulder made you come out of your little mental dance, “Have you seen Ellie? She went somewhere around 15 minutes ago, and I can’t find her.”
Of course it was Dina…
“She doesn’t feel well, must be something she ate before.”
“You sure? Should I take her to the hospital?”
“No worries, we are going now, but here, money for an Uber,” you said, taking some money out of your pocket.
The same money Ellie gave you this morning. You were giving it to her, and for you, it felt so good as you patted her shoulder and sighed with a little smirk.
Dina thought you were calling her poor and mumbled a “fuck you” before dropping the money on the floor and leaving you there just in time for Ellie to come back with your bag.
“Sorry, there were a lot of people in the way,” she handed the bag to you, “Whose money is that?”
“Yours,” you grabbed the bag and started walking out. Ellie frowned, confused, but still picked up the money; it was free money, and everybody was too drunk to miss some dollars. She felt as if she was forgetting to do something before leaving. “Els!”
“Coming!” Whatever, maybe tomorrow she’ll remember; now she had to assist her best friend and be there for her as she always did… like a loyal puppy, a cute and precious one of your property.
Note: I will upload Pt.3 once this chapter and the first one reach 250 so I have time to write and to know that you all like it and want more ty♡♡

Wrong Number 2
Someone said they liked when authors put their super-specific jobs in fics so I hope ya like Steve havin a (kinda romanticized) past job of mine.
For the first time in his life, Steve felt like the stereotypical young person who was always glued to his phone. Every time it made a noise or vibrated, his arm shot out like lightning, hoping with every fiber of his being that it was the mystery number.
It had been about five days since he'd sent that first message and he'd been worried about their conversations being stale. But that wasn't an issue. The only times their talks lulled was when they went to bed.
And even that was after texting late into the night. Steve would watch the clock go from 9 to 10 and promise to get to sleep at a reasonable hour. And then it would be midnight and what was a few minutes after that? Then he'd look up and it would be 2 in the morning.
Texting this guy had become the highlight of Steve's days. To the point where he didn't even realize Friday had come until one of his students mentioned it.
Then, purely out of habit, he asked: "Any weekend plans?"
"I've got a soccer game", Zach answered.
"My parents are having date night", Belinda said.
And normally Steve himself would be thinking about going out and finding someone for the night. But the idea hadn't come to him for once. He knew why, but he didn't fully process it until he got home to Robin, who was in the middle of cooking breakfast for dinner it seemed.
Steve was in the middle of replying to a text sent during lunch.
(12:15) I just realized you know about my off the wall job (12:17) But I have no idea what your 9 to 5 is (12:18) Your legally required to tell me if ur famous (12:18) Not bc im a clout chaser (12:19) But bc I might not have a clue who you are
[4:13] Not famous. Don't worry. I'm a teacher.
(4:15) As a former student I apologize
Robin opened the cabinet, looking for pancake mix. “Are you and that girl still texting?”
“Me and the who?”, Steve looked up from his phone.
“That girl? I assume you're finally setting up a date for this weekend?"
"She-" Steve racked his brain for a good excuse. But it was hard to do when the person who knew him the most was staring right at him.
"Whatever flaws of hers you're about to make up, I'm gonna call bullshit because your phone hasn't stopped pinging for days." She started mixing the pancake batter.
Steve looked down at the words on his screen. The one flaw of this guy was that they couldn't meet in person. But maybe it was time to close the distance just a bit.
"She's shy. Might just text a bit more before she's ready."
[4:19] No need for sorries. All my kids are great. But that's probably because I teach their favorite class.
(4:21) Oooh their favorite? (4:21) It's gotta be something like art rite? (4:22) Or are you being a smart ass cuz you teach like calculus or something?
[4:23] I teach cooking 😛
(4:23) Oh shit. (4:24) You're actually the favorite
[4:25] Toldja. Hey quick question and then possibly many more questions.
(4:26) Go ooooon
[4:27] How would you feel about spending the night playing 20 questions? Like are you free tonight?
Eddie bit his lip as he looked at Steve's words. He had picked his shifts this weekend to make sure he had plenty of time to talk to Steve. Which meant he was in fact free tonight. He replied as such and Steve said he wanted a little time to take a shower and then he'd be ready.
And because he was a little shit, Eddie took advantage of him being away from his phone.
(4:35) Since you're in the shower, I'm taking the first question. Boxers or briefs?
[4:54] Cheater. And I prefer boxer briefs. My turn?
(4:55) Go for it
Eddie was curled up on his couch, tv low and in the background as he waited for Steve's question.
[4:55] What's your name?
(4:56) THATS your first question? (4:56) Wait we've been texting for days haven't you saved my number? (4:57) What do you have me as?
Steve bit his lip, wishing he could lie to this guy, but he couldn’t. Instead he sent a screenshot of his phone.
(4:59) Misty? That’s the name of the chick?
[5:00] Yeah. But I guess I should put your actual name now, right?
It was a gamble. But this guy already knew Steve’s name. And by this point they’d been texting for nearly a week. He just wanted to know his name. He pushed back the part of himself that said he needed to know.
(5:00) It's Eddie.
Eddie. The guy he'd been talking to was named Eddie. Eddie with the long curly hair and the chunky rings who threw axes for a living. He was a far cry from the soft girls he usually dated. Or the preppy guys he usually dated.
(5:02) Favorite bug?
The question threw Steve for a moment but he decided to humor him.
[5:04] Bees 🐝I like how fuzzy they are. And I like honey. [5:05] What rings do you have?
A couple minutes later, Eddie replied with an image. It was taken from above and showed his hands lying flat on a coffee table. Steve zoomed to make out the details of each ring. He was also able to see a watch and a couple of wristbands on him.
[5:08] How did you take that picture? With your mouth? 🦭
(5:09) Did you did you just compare me to a seal???
[5:09] What other animal catches things in their mouths?
'I can be an animal with my mouth'. Thankfully, Eddie's fingers weren't as fast as his brain and he didn't send that to Steve. Eddie had in fact put his phone in his mouth the take the picture, having a real 'no thoughts, head empty moment' when Steve asked about his rings.
Steve was letting his own mind wander as he gazed at the picture. Eddie's hands were...his hands were...well they were-
(5:10) Favorite youtuber?
The adoration of Eddie's hands were interrupted by Eddie himself as their question and answers continued. The picture continued as well. Steve sent pics of his favorite pair of shoes, his hair products, and of his neck when Eddie said he didn't believe he had all these moles.
Eddie had sent pictures of one arm, covered in tats, his acoustic guitar, and a super worn copy of Peter Pan.
The hour was growing late and both of them were feeling more bold but at the same time hesitant because it felt like they were close to crossing a line.
Needing an outside opinion, Eddie consulted with The Council (the discord server with his band mates) about whether or not he should shoot his shot. Gareth told him to go for it, what harm could it do? Grant said to do it because it could potentially be the funniest catfishing story. Jeff agreed that he should, if only because their guitarist getting murdered would be a great back story.
With their unanimous approval, Eddie decided to start actively flirting with Steve.
(8:37) Soooooo ya like jazz?
[8:38] I do actually. I really love the piano.
Okay, that one was just practice. Be smooth. Be suave. None of that was in Eddie's wheelhouse but thankfully nothing he said turned Steve away. He always seemed just as eager to reply back.
(9:10) What's your oldest piece of clothing?
Eddie was thinking of his own oldest article a t-shirt that had started out overgrown on his tiny eight year old body but he'd grown into and kept over the years. It was super faded but filled with the memory of the first time he spent more than a couple of days with his uncle.
[9:12] I'd show you, but I'm wearing them right now.
Steve had closed his bedroom door before sending the text. There wasn't anything scandalous but it seemed like it could very quickly veer into that territory. All Eddie had to do was ask. If he wanted to see them, Steve would show it.
'I would like to see it.'
(9:12) I would like to see it
Eddie knew it could be anything. Maybe a holey sock. Or maybe he also had a super faded t-shirt with deep sewn-in memories as well. Maybe he was wearing a class ring?
[9:14] image.jpeg
Eddie was treated (and goddamn what a treat it was) to Steve Harrington's bottom half, barely covered in shorts with a school's logo on them. Thick thighs covered in hair. And a bulge that was there. It was very there. Eddie couldn't overstate how there it was.
He palmed his own crotch before remembering he was looking at a guy's junk and about to jerk off to it in his living room. And he had yet to answer. What was the most respectful way to say 'humina humina humina-wolf whistle-awooga'?
(9:16) Are you trying to kill me Steve?
[9:17] Do you like it?
'Awooga.'
(9:18) ❤️‍🔥 🔥 🥵
Eddie tried to think of any other way to tell Steve how hot he made him but it felt like typing words just wasn't enough.
(9:19) Can I do something insane? (9:20) And feel free to ignore me if it's too much
Steve was lying in his bed, phone of his charger now. Nothing Eddie could do would be too much. He could knock on his door and he would let him in.
[9:21] Go ahead
A second after he sent that, Steve's phone started to ring. It was Eddie. He stared for about five seconds before picking up.
"Hey."
"Hey."
If possible, Steve melted more into his bed. Eddie's voice...he didn't know what he expected but it wasn't that. He said one word and Steve wanted to wrap himself in it.
"That was pretty naughty of you, sending me that pic. I could show up to your school."
"You'd be a few years too late. These are my oldest shorts, remember?"
"Tiniest shorts maybe."
Steve laughed and Eddie was on cloud nine. He was so lost in bliss, he miscalculated and fell off the couch.
"What was that?"
"I uh, I fell. Off my couch."
"Did you fall hard?"
Eddie beamed as he got up and turned off the tv. Now that he had his voice, all he wanted to hear was the man on the other line.
"Oh super hard."
Steve let out a sound from the back of his throat and he wondered if Eddie had heard it. It was honestly amazing how the smallest things got him going. Or maybe he was just that into Eddie.
"You still there Steve?"
....."Yeah. I'm still here."

Hey, Ms. Secret Service! - Chapter 14
Actually he was planning exactly what he said, you both were going to the bullpen to greet everyone.
When they saw you, there was a big hello and hugs from all sides.
As always Tony was the first. He came immediately to you “look who's back!” and gave you a bone crushing hug. You laughed wholeheartedly. It was sooo good to be back again and you were eternally thankful for that.
Tim and Kate were no less pleased to see you, but they embraced you more carefully and said “so good that you are here. Welcome back.” And then there they came, one running and one walking and laughing because of the running one.
Yeah, Abby and Ducky came definitely towards you.
Abby ran full speed into you, all the while sobbing and repeating “you're back, you're back, you're back”. She only let go of you as Ducky tapped on her shoulder. You were freed reluctantly only for Ducky to embrace you tightly, too “we've missed you, my dear. So glad that you're back with us once more.”
The hug ended and they all stood around you - your family. You loved them dearly and thanked all that was holy to see them again. In this moment you decided to never do such a high risk mission again, for you didn't want to imagine never seeing them once more.
Then Gibbs spoke up “to celebrate your coming back, I will invite you all to breakfast. Then Y/N can tell us all that happened and that's not classified. Let's go.”
Loud cheering was heard and everyone grabbed their things to go to the cars. Gibbs took your hand and walked to the elevator where the others were waiting. If they saw, they didn't say anything about that. It seemed that he needed physical contact with you to reassure him that you were indeed back.
He never let go of you except when you both were eating and you told all that had to be told, while your colleagues listened to you intently. You expected that the others would recognize that he was never leaving your side and that they would say something, but they didn't.
Only after you all were back in the office and Gibbs went to get coffee, Ducky leaned in and said “we wish you two all the best and please take care of him. He doesn't believe it, but he deserves to be happy like everyone else does.”
As he came back with two cups of coffee and gave you yours, you thanked him. He smiled, winked at you and pointed to your cup. You looked at it and there was a message written, which said “dinner, 7pm, at mine.” Your head shot up and you looked surprised at Jethro, who smirked at you. You smiled widely at him and nodded.
So that was settled, Jethro and you had a date this evening. And you were already nervous about it.
You arrived at his house a few minutes earlier and you were totally tense, thinking “How should I greet him? With an embrace? What should I say?” Then you took a deep breath, brushed your thoughts away and exited your car.
After making five steps to the house the door was opened and there he stood grinning. You couldn't help, but laugh out loud while walking to him.
As you discovered, your doubts were unfounded. Because as soon as you were in his reaching distance, he embraced you tightly saying “hello my love. I'm so glad that you are finally here with me.”
You sighed and whispered “me too.”
Both of you were enjoying this wonderful feeling of hugging each other immensely and didn't want to let go, but unfortunately you couldn't stay all the time in the entrance of his house.
Reluctantly he gave you free and grabbed your hand “come on, let's go inside.”
He led you to the dining room and you were totally amazed. He had outdone himself.
The table was beautifully set with dishes, flowers and candles alight.
Standing there and admiring his work you felt two arms closing around you from behind. He laid his chin on your shoulder and whispered “I prepared a little romantic dinner for us. Hope you like it.” He kissed your cheek and you whispered “it's wonderful.”
At this moment the timer for the food was heard. “Food's ready! Sit down, I'll be right back” Gibbs said and walked to the stove.
“Can I help you?”
“No, just make yourself at home,” he said, smiling. He was very nervous too, because he wanted to impress you and wanted to tell you something important.
As he brought the food, you ate and chatted about everything and nothing. It was simply wonderful and after dinner and doing the dishes you sat on the couch in the living room, side by side. His arm were around your back and you leaned on his shoulder. You were both dancing and cheering inwardly and enjoying your closeness silently.
After a while Jethro said “you know, with you and my father I finally feel whole again. It feels like a real family, which I have longed for and missed for so long.”
You smiled “I'm glad. You just have to tell Kate that, since she is or will be a big part of this family, I assume.”
That irritated him “Why Kate?”
“Well, I thought you and Kate....?”
That made him laugh "no. There's nothing. I thought for a short time it might be a possibility, but no. She's the wrong woman.”
He paused, looked intensely in your eyes and uttered “I'm talking about us. You and me. To hell with rule 12, rules are meant to be broken. And yes, I'm ready for a new relationship. And there's nothing I long for more than to be with you. But I have to warn you. I'm all in. I want the full program. I want to get married and start a family. You're the only one I can imagine that with.
My father, you, me and our children at a picnic in the park, at the campfire and everywhere else too. What do you say?”
You stared at him and were completely speechless.
He laughed shortly. “It would be nice, if you say something about that,” he said nervously and uncertainly. You were stunned, because you've never seen him like that before.
You're still trying to collect yourself. “Um...to what exactly?”
“First of all to me as your boyfriend, because I love you with all of my heart. But with the option of marriage and a family in the future.”
“Hmm, yes...that's a good suggestion.” and laughing, you fell into his arms. “I love you, Jethro. And yes, I want that with you. All of it.”
You both were as lucky as one can be and couldn't contain yourself anymore. You began to kiss each other madly.
And as you kissed more and more passionately and your hands started to explore each other's bodies, his father suddenly bursted into the house and saw you on the couch during your make-out session.
You wanted to quickly break away from Jethro, but he continued to hold you tightly in his arms. While you rested your forehead and hands on his chest, he continued to hold you by the waist and let his head fall back. He groaned in frustration, "dad!"
Jackson just laughed and said, "Keep going, don't let me disturb you. I want to be able to spoil another grandchild soon, so make an effort!"
You looked from Jackson to Jethro in horror and both Gibbs started to laugh loudly. It was so contagious, that you had to laugh too and Jackson came over to you for a family hug.
The next day, Gibbs' first thing of the day after drinking a coffee was to buy a new lock for his front door.
The End

Haruhi x RICH reader part two
The club confronts the reader and you show that you're dating <3 part one here part 1
Haruhi awoke in her bed, groggy but conscious. blinking away the sleep in her eyes and rolling over to slam her hand (not really, she couldn't afford to break one) on her alarm clock as it wouldn't shut up. that was her school alarm!-
shooting up from her bed in fear, noticing the time, and running to her wardrobe, pulling out her male uniform only for her to walk past a calendar. Saturday-
oh...
she sat down on the bed she just shot up from and left in a mess. there was a weekend of freedom from not only a daunting school but also a very nosey host club.
Haruhi was trying to emotionally build herself up to deal with the prissy prince of the school who will 100% have a meltdown when she goes into detail on how she's now a 'girl kisser'.
a bit like how Tamaki just casually said to the twins, "You're the homosexual supporting cast", that started a whole fiasco last time.
staring into space for a solid five minutes, she thinks of ways she can dodge the question of how the fuck she's going to explain ditching school yesterday because some mystery girl was waiting for her in a very nice-looking car and they sped off.
yay. this'll be fun.
'meh, that's future Me's problem' She shrugged her shoulders as she walked to the kitchen after leaving her bedroom, only for her phone to buzz softly on the table where she left it to charge overnight.
see, she didn't have a socket/power outlet in her bedroom so she resulted in suffering without her phone for the night. how she does it without going insane? I have no clue.
she picked up the buzzing flip phone to see your familiar number flashing on her screen, a smile popped up on her face as she answered extremely quickly.
"hey daffodil!" your voice chimed in over the phone.
"hello (y/n) I'm shocked you're up this early"
"Well, my girlfriend's an early riser! I gotta give her a good morning call!"
"Are you sure that's all?" she said sarcastically as Haruhi rested her phone on the kitchen table/counter and she turned on the stove, preparing to cook herself and her dad some breakfast, bacon, and eggs, simple enough. cracking the eggs into the pan; she noticed how you were silent for a while, not a good sign.
" *sigh* I'm sorry daffodil...but I'm not gonna be able to reach you for this weekend...meetings n shit. not to mention my normal tutoring...I need to keep this up but I'll make it up to you Monday, sweetheart!"
you rambled as you tried apologising for having a busy life that took up most of your free time but Haruhi waited for you to finish your muttered apologies with a soft smile, gazing at her phone.
"no don't worry, I get it. you have a job and a school life, you can't ditch them anymore for me than you have already."
"but I can call in sick!-"
"you will not be doing that." she cut you off, snarkily; making sure you got the memo of you're already balls deep in sick days so it would harm your report card if you had any more.
a little huff came out of Haruhi's side of the phone, letting her know you were pouting and bitching. it made her smile hearing how you were willing to ruin your report for her but she knew it should have never come to that.
suddenly another voice came through your side of the phone which made Haruhi perk up a bit, also hearing some footsteps come from down her hall as well.
"master (y/n), you need to head to your weekend classes. your chauffeur is waiting by the gate."
a snappy sigh left your mouth as you nodded, turning back to your phone and muttering over and over to Haruhi how you're sorry and love her.
"I'm so sorry daffodil, ill message you when I can-"
"you will not be doing that ma'am." the butler's voice interrupted you, knowing you would try to text during class. this made Haruhi let out a small giggle.
"It's okay, strawberry. make sure you actually pay attention and I love you too.-" The call cut off but she took a gamble thinking the butler must have snatched the phone and snapped it shut. rude.
Haruhi snapped her head to the door that opened; showing her stubbled long haired father who looked almost dead.
"morning Dad." just another morning for the Fujioka household.
the weekend went by scarily quickly even though Haruhi wanted it to last an eternity. knowing her fate when she got back to school, the host club was ready to pounce like the predators they were.
she awoke on a Monday this time; to her alarm blaring in her ear, starting her day with either an earache or an attitude.
she shut it off with a stretch only to hear her phone once more in the kitchen but it was the individual notification sound she gave you.
well, there goes the bad attitude, you fixed it even though you didn't even try.
she got up with a bit more spark and ran to her phone, almost running into the door in the process.
she smiled as she walked back into her room after picking up her phone and looking at your message.
"mornib daffodil"
autocorrect is still off she can see. She sent you a gif of the Roblox wave which you read and just replied,
"..."
"don't do that again."
the one time your spelling was perfect was with pure disappointment in your message. She giggled a bit and deleted the gif from her phone entirely and sent a thumbs-up emoji.
she got changed into her dreaded uniform with a smile on her face despite knowing her doom for the day is coming sooner than she hoped. praying to whatever god was out there that her beautiful girlfriend would save her from not only Tamaki-sempai but also the twins and Kyoya's incessant prying.
she grabbed her bag and headed out the door, walking to her school, Ouran Academy while looking at her phone with a small smile as you message other pointless things about your weekend that were just plain stupid but entertaining, bitching about all of your classmates.
just as she was about to close her phone, you sent one final message to the cross dressing girl
"oh yeh dont forget bbg that im coming to your school, just gunna show up for your lunch and after school club muah! wanna see your line of work ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ʔっ"
she froze as she read over that message but as she went to protest, you went offline, this wasn't up for negotiation. you were going to make sure her line of work shouldn't make you, her girlfriend; worry.
awe shit.
she went along with her day, avoiding any questions from the twins pestering her,
"Haruhi! you haven't told us who that person was!"
"yeah Haruhi, are they your girlfriend or something?"
she stood up and left as some girls' heads snapped in their direction, mostly Haruhi's clients. She bolted out of there not without giving the twins a solid glair or two before slamming the door behind her anyway.
this was now a class free of host club members. she let out a sigh of relief only for her world to brighten a bit more when her phone lit up, she flipped it open to see you sent a picture of chocolate covered strawberries and with a message underneath,
"all for you! <3"
some heads turned at the sound of something falling, it was just Haruhi's head slamming into the table, she received weird looks but all she thought about was her stomach and how great her girlfriend is.
It was better they saw the weirdness and not the goofy smile and red face because god, she was never like this in school before. She regrets opening her phone as the little things get her the most.
the class commenced as the teacher walked in and told everyone to take their seats, her mind was elsewhere however, absentmindedly looking out the window, excited and scoping out her girlfriend's car as lunch was after this.
"Fujioka, as you are so relaxed in my lesson, Where is the world's largest waterfall, located?" the teacher said with such snark, wholeheartedly believing a commoner wouldn't know such information on geography.
being the fucking scholar she is, she didn't even look at the teacher and just said clearly, "Angel Falls is located in Venezuela's Bolívar State, in the Guiana Highlands, on the Churún River, 160 miles southeast of Ciudad Bolívar."
despite not looking at the teacher, this pissed them off more. "Fujioka, do you want a lunch detention for attitude?" the growl was evident in their voice.
"not really sensei, I apologise for my rudeness." she stood up and bowed, exaggerating to please the teacher, students were covering their mouths trying to not laugh at the teacher for being shown up and being completely in the wrong while some others were fantasizing about Haruhi.
the teacher growled and reluctantly continued with the lesson. an hour flew by and the bell went signalling lunch, however, when everyone was packing up their stuff, Haruhi bolted out as she had pre-packed up all of her things and just grabbed her bag and ran.
she 'jogged' past students in the hallway to the front of the dining hall, seeing someone in a cap and sunglasses and all black baggy clothes, a hoodie and sweat pants, hair all hidden in the cap.
100% had to be her. She ran a bit quicker only to tackle them and they stumbled a bit, only for them to wrap their arms around Haruhi and swing them around a bit in a hug.
Haruhi grabbed their hands and pushed them towards a free seat where she normally sits.
she sat you down and looked at you expectantly and just...kept staring at you. you leaned backward as she kept staring, feeling like she was judging you, only for it to click a second later that she wanted those chocolate strawberries!
you handed her a medium-sized box full of delicious treats and she beamed, almost as much as she did with the 'fancy tuna' you gave her. the host club watched from afar in surprise as Haruhi was swindled by something sweet for once. Tamaki was crying as he saw his little girl with supposedly her girlfriend.
however, most girls were glaring at the mysterious stranger who barged into their school, stealing their Haruhi.
jokes on then, she's yours.
Haruhi was barely as involved in any conversations with clients or the club compared to the conversation you two were having, she was actually laughing and smiling, acting as though she was a child with her closest friend.
someone in a butler uniform walked up to the two of you, catching all the onlookers off guard and the butler placed two dishes in front of you both, you bowed multiple times to the butler and handed them some money for the food, you didn't ask for it so it was out of kindness.
you handed your girlfriend a pair of chopsticks and gave her one of the plates, chatting while eating. not very polite I know.
soon enough, the lunch bell rang, and people were either glaring at you or observing you the entire time. that included the host club.
the rest of the lessons for the day flew by as Haruhi was in a more pleasant mood than before, seeing her girlfriend after two days of not seeing her. The entire school noticed at least.
the final bell rang for the day, letting everyone know it was either time to pack their shit and go home or it was time to head to their clubs and leave the teachers alone. she packed up slowly, knowing that her girlfriend would be here soon, another date probably, that's what you always surprise her with.
she walked to the host club with a calm pace, walking through the doors unnoticed by the club members and started on making some instant coffee.
her 'cover' was blown when a customer requested Haruhi and so she sat down on one of the chairs, offering a coffee to the girl. the members only just then noticed Haruhi's presents.
Tamaki started bombarding her about who was that beastly stranger who interrupted his time as the host's father which made Haruhi wince and wait until all clients were cared for and satisfied.
that took another half an hour until it was just the hosts in the room. the room felt suffocating to the girl however she condemned herself to stay silent.
"Anything I say can and will be used in the court of law against me." she crossed her arms and leaned back, solidly not going to say jack-shit.
the hosts shared a glance then all snapped their necks to kyoya, giving him either a sharp nod or a glair, perhaps both. the black haired boy with glasses sighed as he pushed up his said glasses with his pen.
"Haruhi. we'll lower your debt by half."
"my girlfriend." she said with no hesitation what-so-ever.
the hosts all shouted in unison, minus kyoya and Mori.
"WHHHAAATTTTT??"
Haruhi just shrugged; looking at kyoya solidly without blinking. he sighed and seemingly drew a line in his book and if crossing something out, writing a different number underneath.
the hosts start bombarding her with questions such as, When did you get a girlfriend?' 'where did you meet?' 'who is she?' and a 'WHO DARES TAKE MY PRECIOUS DAUGHTER FROM ME!?" we all know who said that.
just as she was about to answer them all, her phone let out a notification. your notification. She perked up and grabbed her phone quickly and flipped it open, seeing your message.
just as she was about to read it, Tamaki snatched it from her hands. "DON'T YOU KNOW IT'S RUDE TO IGNORE PEOPLE?!" he whinged as he dangled the phone out of her reach, almost teasing her for her height.
"stop it Tamaki sempai! That's her!" Haruhi raised her voice in annoyance, she wanted to see what you wanted.
Mori snatched the phone out of Tamaki's hands and was about to hand it back to the girl who was shouting for once, shocking all in the room, including kyoya for she's always been calm-headed. however, just as he was about to hand it to her, he read the message. pausing for a minute.
"hey daffodilllllll imma find ur club and show up okay? wat room u in??"
he flicked his eyes at Haruhi who was glaring and smirked at her, the nickname daffodil suited her. a very pretty yellow flower.
he typed back a response on her phone, making Haruhi fume as she never thought a guy such as Mori could be so disrespectful but I guess even angles can mock people.
he handed her phone back to her and she snatched it from him, "I'm in the third music room, ask around for directions"
she looked at the phone in worry, damn, if she shows up then you'll try to pay for her debt up front or worse, become a host or something. she bit her nail in worry as she heard knocking on the door.
honey opened the door with his cutesy smile and said to the girl outside, "I'm sorry miss! But the host club is closed now!" the girl chuckled and patted the boy's head.
"Don't worry cutie, I'm not here for the host club."
Haruhi shot out of her seat at that voice, that quick?
"daffodil...." the girl's voice came out eerie as she squeezed past the short 18 year old.
"Honey, let her in, this is the girl that Haruhi likes." mori said plainly as Haruhi's cheeks pinkened a little at the casual tone.
"(y/n) (l/n). seventeen years of age, the owner of her own private extremely wealthy business that is still as flourishing as it's beginning. has school on the weekends and often leaves Japan for business trips. originally from (your country) and known as the self-made genius billionaire." kyoya debriefed everyone in the room about the girl who just entered, only for his face to contort into a smug grin while staring at you dead in the eyes, as if it was a threat.
you looked him up and down nonchalantly and squinted.
"kyoya Ootori. the youngest of the Ootori siblings so seen as practically worthless. you try desperately to prove yourself to your father only for it to be a fruitless attempt as you will always amount to nothing. the youngest Ootori is known to use and objectify everything around him, some refer to him as a narcissist or just a manipulator. even though he's known to keep his guard around his family and his supposed closest friend. Tamaki Suo. oh, you're family is known for owning a police force, working in health and social care-
how's that buttercup?"
you said sassily as kyoya dropped his pen, not before snapping it in anger. you smirked and walked up to our girlfriend, grabbing her hand and twirling her.
kyoya scowled and looked away, you put him in a cramped box there, he wasn't expecting you to do your research on the club members.
honey was a dream to talk to, he kept calling you and 'Haru-Chan' cute while this tall stoic man with black hair you later learned was Mori who messaged you in Haruhi's place.
soon enough, the blonde in the room couldn't keep it contained anymore, he was pissed about how Haruhi was taken, he wanted this wrapped up and sorted out asap.
he stormed over to the two of you, looking at you while grabbing your shoulders aggressively; shaking you backward and forward multiple times, almost trying to be mean.
"HOW DARE YOU DATE MY HARUHI?!" all you did was annoyingly look to the side and roll your eyes, Haruhi just sweat dropped, much like the other host members. this somehow irked Tamaki even more so he turned serious. he wasn't happy about this dating business.
"Are you sure you want to date someone as deceptive as Haruhi?!" this perked your interest, your eyes snapping to meet his, he smirked at this while Haruhi's mood turned sour very quickly, she looked at you and all you did was look at her.
"HE is actually a SHE! how could you date a woman?!"
the entire room went silent at this, your face looking like one of horror while everyone else in the room was shocked, mori was slightly disgusted with Tamaki but Haruhi...oh Haruhi....she was pissed as could be. if you listened closely you could hear her teeth grinding and almost a growl leave her throat.
Tamaki let go of your shoulders, seeing as you were shocked enough, your breath started hitching, making Haruhi concerned as well as Honey and Kaoru. this was really getting to you so it seemed. kyoya however, closed his little death note and crossed his arms, intently watching your lips tremble.
your lips quivered, trying not to turn, your breathing coming out of your nose in puffs. you bit your lip, turning slightly to the side and screwing your eyes shut. your lips gradually pulled into a grin as you tried to suppress it.
you covered your mouth, trying to hide your grin as you started wheezing slightly, masking it for crying but in all reality, you leaned over, trying to not be noticed for laughing. kyoya smiled however and picked his book back up and continued writing in his book.
'(y/n) (l/n). also a very renowned actor. fooled even me.' written in his handwriting.
Haruhi caught on and let out a relieved sigh that you didn't ruin your makeup with your fake crying, and started smiling with you.
you walked towards her in a limp and used her shoulder as a balance, uncovering your mouth, letting your laugh bellow out of your mouth.
you could hear a pin drop in the room if it wasn't for your laughter which echoed around the walls. you wiped a 'tear' from your eye and stood up straight, still slightly giggling. you coughed to fix your voice and quickly kissed Haruhi's lips, it shocked her but she kissed back. you turned to the shocked blonde and glared with menace.
"you think I would care?" you walked slowly towards Tamaki, in a threatening way, he felt scared almost. as though you were about to beat him up, looking around for help at the other host members, they were either looking at him disappointingly or looking away. Haruhi was just giving him a hard, stern glare.
"I've known Haruhi from middle school. we started DATING in middle school. before she got her hair cut. if you were listening to my answers to the questions thrown my way and not interrupted, we could have slipped this. but what you just did was wrong. really. fucking. wrong." you growled out as you got closer. finally backing off from him while he had crocodile tears in his eyes.
Hikaru and Kaoru spoke up for once, "Yeah boss. You just tried to get her to break up with Haruhi. That's something not even we would do." they said in their normal teasing voice.
"I'm not sharing my cake with you anymore..." Honey said quietly, turning away.
In a flash, Tamaki was on his knees; bowing to Haruhi screaming his apologies over and over.
the club ended with you accepting his apology but not talking to him, most host club members were a bit off-put but spoke to him as well. Haruhi still held a grudge but that was perfectly fine.
you grabbed her hand and strode out the door with her in tow.
"where are we going?" asked Haruhi who was perplexed, trying to catch up to you.
"your house? I brought some gifts for your birthday!"
"WHAT? But you already had two piled sent to my door?!" she shouted, annoyed but grateful, trying to not accept any more.
"yeah well, that was when I 'wasn't' around. now I am!"
all you heard was a sigh in response, one of admittance and just going with the flow. you grinned and drove her home.
leaving the host club with a polite bow, them smiling at you as you left.
"I approve! They're so cute!" shouted Honey, Mori just nodded along with him while the twins chimed in, "Us too! She's actually pretty nice!", "weirdly enough we thought Haruhi was gunna date someone equally as weird as her but eh"
kyoya spoke up, "She could massively aid the host club with more funding than any of us could. she could also eradicate us just as easily"
Tamaki froze in shock, his smile almost falling straight off of his face. but it got worse,
"she could have easily paid off Haruhi's debt with the snap of her fingers, it'd be like chucking a penny into the street for her."
Tamaki fell to his knee's, again, it got worse when the twins tuned in once more,
"our guess is that she wanted to see what friends we were to Haruhi, and if she should stay in this school or something" the twins shrugged their shoulders, but knowingly adding fuel to the flame of Tamaki's shame.
as you opened the door of the car for Haruhi to go in first, all you heard across the campus was a girlish voice scream,
"I'M SORRRYYYYYYYYYY!!!!" both you and Haruhi looked at each other, and you snickered as she burst into laughter.
you drove back holding hands and just casually watched a film at her place, you could tell she was worried about this because as soon as the stress of the whole ordeal left her body, her head was nodding off to the side and she'd shake herself awake again.
you grabbed her waist and pulled her to you, not even a second after you did, she fell asleep on your shoulder. the movie was still playing as background noise, you stroked her hair and a ghost of a smile appeared on her face.
"you've got a good set of friends love... I'm glad...." you kissed the side of her head and mumbled, "I love you so much..." as you slowly drifted off to sleep yourself.
AND THAT'S A WRAP.

Could you make a headcanon or one shot of Kazuki Kurusu? And it would be of the reader waking up in the morning with Kazuki after ‘nightly activities’ last night. And kazuki would share kisses with the reader and kiss some marks he left behind, and then he’ll go make some breakfast for his family ☺️
I also wanted to say that I love the mini moodboards you have for each of the writing pieces 💜

The birds softly chirped outside of Kazuki's window, waking up the naturally light sleeper.
He groaned softly, rubbing his eye with his free hand and sighed as he opened his eyes fully.
Beside him was his partner, [YourName], and his heart was warm once more.
Last night wasn't their first time staying the night, but it was their first time going farther than just a heated make out.
He was beyond happy miri was a relatively heavy sleeper and Rei slept in the bathroom.
Realizing [YourName] was still sleeping, Kazuki softly chuckled before moving some hair out of their face.
He leaned over and gently placed a kiss against their cheek.
[YourName]'s face scrunched up at first before smiling softly and yawning.
They then slowly opened their eyes and their soft little smile grew a little bit more.
"Well, good morning." Kazuki would greet.
"Good morning, darling." [YourName] replied.
After staring at each other for a moment, [YourName] and Kazuki both chuckled.
[YourName] sat up, holding the sheet close to their bare ches.
This gave Kazuki a good look at the marks he had left on his partner's shoulders, making him smile but also feel a bit guilty all at once.
[YourName] softly jumped when they felt Kazuki lean up and softly kiss their shoulder, they looked over and gave Kazuki a confused look.
Kazuki then explained how he wanted to kiss every mark he left, as an apology to your body.
[YourName] just chuckled and shook their head, but allowed Kazuki to do as he pleased.
After softly kissing each mark and making sure his partner was ready, the two got up, showered, and then got dressed for the day.
[YourName] went to go wake Miri up while Kazuki went to go start on breakfast.
After about five minutes, [YourName] comes down the stairs with Miri of their hip who was still trying to wake up.
She would get set down on the couch which made Miri fight harder not to fall back to sleep.
Kazuki suggested to his daughter she go wake up Rei and that sent little Miri into excitement mode.
Miri shot up and ran to the bathroom, making both [YourName] and Kazuki laugh.
[YourName] stood at the kitchen island while Kazuki cooked, they watched as he carefully mixed each ingredient together and put it in the pan before moving on the next item.
[YourName] made their way over to their boyfriend, gently pressing a kiss to his cheek.
Kazuki was happier than the word sunshine to have [YourName].

It was supposed to be easy; a simple in-and-out deal — but all that changed when your ex-girlfriend went ahead and got drunk right before the quinjet took off.
You were seething.
“I don’t get why you can’t just listen to me, Danvers!” you scolded, back-facing her as the HYDRA agents secured the rope around the chairs and both of your wrists. “If you didn’t go in there like I specifically told you not to, we wouldn’t be in this mess right now.”
“Oh, shut up,” the blonde spat back with just as much venom. “Even if I hadn’t gone into that room, you probably would’ve screwed us over too. You always do, Y/N.”
Truth was, things hadn’t always been this tense between you and Carol. When the two of you had been introduced to S.H.I.E.L.D., you guys were civil. You’d often see her in the gym when you went for your morning workout and would have breakfast with her after you both were done training.
In fact, you’d both become such good friends that your feelings for her only grew with how much time you spent together. And those feelings were reciprocated, because after four months into your lives as Avengers, you began dating.
Everything was fine, until Carol was sent to protect the galaxies in space — and you weren’t allowed to go with. When she finally returned to the Avengers Compound, five years had passed and things definitely weren’t the same.
You rolled your eyes at her words. Being on the receiving end of that pent-up anger wasn’t new to you. “I told you to leave it alone, at least until the guards were gone. And what did you do?”
Carol remained silent, though the tension in the air was clear that she was challenging you, as if to say, ‘go on, tell me’.
So, you did. You cleared your throat with gusto. “Yeah, I’ll tell you what you did. You said ‘The sign says Do Not Enter. Of course we’re going to enter!’. Who the hell does that? You’re fucking crazy. I’m never letting Fury pair us up again.”
“Shut up, the both of you! No funny business until the boss gets here,” the same HYDRA agent that tied you up instructed before bending down to retrieve the silver flask Carol had dropped a few minutes ago. He opened it and took a whiff of its contents before smirking. “Thank you for this. I think he would be pleased to hear that we managed to capture not one, but two Avengers… because one of them came to a dog fight drunk.”
You should’ve guessed it; nothing your enemy said should’ve come as a shock to you, but it did. Maybe it was because a small part of you still hoped that the old Carol — the one you fell in love with — wouldn’t do something as stupid as drinking on the job, or perhaps it was the fact that you thought she was more than capable of holding her liquor that you didn’t suspect anything to begin with.
Whatever the case, her actions had completely screwed the both of you over.
As soon as the guards left the room, you worked on freeing yourself so you could get out, grab the files and leave the building — preferably in time for dinner at the Avengers Compound.
Wanda was cooking tonight and you didn’t want to miss it.
“Just a little bit more–” you grunted, tugging at the knot. “Are you planning on helping at all?”
Carol shot you a sympathetic smile, and for just a moment, you thought you saw the slightest bit of remorse for her actions.
“Here,” she whispered, channelling the heat from her photon blast to the tip of her fingers and burning through the rope. “I’m sorry, Y/N. I really am.”
You didn’t know why she was apologising all of a sudden; but you weren’t going to let it distract you.
“We really don’t have time for this, Danvers.”
“But we do!” the former pilot protested, quickly undoing her own ropes and standing up to hold you in place. “You don’t have to talk, okay? Just… just listen.”
It wasn’t that you didn’t want to give her another chance. You did, but you didn’t know if it would go to waste like every after opportunity you’d given her to change.
The look on the blonde’s face, however, tugged at your heart strings and made you feel butterflies in your stomach. That was a feeling that hadn’t dissipated, no matter how long you guys were apart or whatever it was that you fought about.
So you listened.
“Y/N… the day Fury sent me to protect the stars from the threats they faced, I was devastated. I didn’t want to leave you, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to fulfil my duties if I told you about it — because then I’d want to stay behind. With you.”
You worked in silence as your ex-girlfriend spoke, scouring every corner for enemies while Carol worked on retrieving the manila folders from the HYDRA workstations.
“I thought it was the right thing to do at the time; leaving without so much as a word. The moment I stepped onto that aircraft, I knew I made a mistake… but it was too late. I had a feeling you’d be more than pissed at me if I tried to explain everything, so I didn’t reach out. Instead, I found myself drowning my sorrows in other ways,” she told you solemnly, holding up the flask she’d snagged on the way out of your holding room. “I started drinking and I couldn’t stop. It became my addiction, but I realise now that I was only substituting one addiction for another. What I craved was you.”
Your ears pricked up when your brain finally registered those words. Carol had poured her heart out to you, telling you about her struggles and how her drinking problem had started — and it was all because she missed you.
“Carol, I– I don’t know what to say,” you admitted, thoughts jumbled from all the new information.
You tried anyway.
“I’m sorry you had to go through all of that. You really should have come to me about it… I’d never turn you away, no matter how badly you fucked up,” you joked, grinning when the blonde’s lips curved into a smile. “That aside, I understand why you didn’t tell me when you left. It was hard, I know that now. And I’m sorry I didn’t see it sooner. I’m sorry you had to come back and face someone entirely different from who the person fell in love with. I’m sorry… I’m sorry I became the cause of your alcoholism.”
You couldn’t remember the last time you apologised this much. You didn’t think it had ever happened.
Then again, Carol had a strange way of making you do things you never thought possible.
The conversation was cut short when the both of you finally got what you came for. “You know, for someone who didn’t know what to say... you sure found the right words,” she smiled, taking hold of your hand and heading for the exit. “Let’s get out of here. We’ll talk about this after the mission.”
*Some time later*
After receiving an earful from Fury about taking too long and another lecture from Steve for missing training because of the mission, you and Carol found yourselves in her bedroom.
“Geez, I haven’t been here in a long time,” you mumbled, looking at the space before you. “Not much has changed.”
“Well, I don’t exactly have time to decorate when I’m almost never around, you know?”
You nodded and observed quietly as the blonde poured herself a glass of water before taking a seat on her bed. You noticed how a bottle of wine sat beside the jug, but decided not to comment on it.
Instead, you stood idly, not sure if Carol wanted you beside her. You fiddled with your fingers and looked everywhere but at the Avenger, though you knew you couldn’t avoid her gaze forever; no matter how hard you tried.
“You can sit. I don’t remember having to tell you what to do whenever we’re in my room,” she said, patting the space beside her. “I’m not gonna bite, Y/N.”
Nodding, you willed yourself to take a few steps forward until you were seated beside her. Carol pulled you closer and you instinctively gripped her shirt tightly, so much so that your knuckles turned white.
God, you missed her so much.
It didn’t occur to you that you were crying until the blonde wiped a few stray tears from your cheek, letting her finger smooth over the skin comfortingly.
“I’m sorry,” she mumbled, pressing a kiss on your forehead. “I’m so fucking sorry, Y/N/N. Tell me what to do to make it better.”
You couldn’t speak; you didn’t dare to, in fear that you’d say the wrong thing or not be able to say the right words at all. Instead, you kissed Carol.
Passionately, too, as all the emotions you withheld over the past few years came pouring out like a river. Luckily for you, it didn’t take long for her to kiss you back. Soon, the two of you were fighting for air, but neither of you wanted to pull away.
Your lungs burned but your heart loved the heat. You melted into Carol’s arms as she held you tight, the two of you fitting like two pieces of a puzzle.
The only difference was that you had the glue to hold you together now:– the transparency between the two of you after confessing everything you both had kept hidden for much too long.
When air really became a problem, you two finally broke the kiss, foreheads touching as your breathing found steady paces.
“I love you, Carol. I never stopped loving you. Don’t you dare leave without telling me again,” you mumbled, snuggling closer to her.
The blonde chuckled in response but nodded along to your statement. “I promise, Y/N. And I promise I’ll try to get better.”
“I know you can. We can,” you said as you stood up now, making your way over to where the bottle of wine sat. “I reckon the first step would be to get rid of this cherry wine, though.”
Carol smiled warmly and nodded, allowing you to toss the bottle into the bin. “Let’s hope Stark doesn’t find out about what you just did. Above all else, that was a good bottle of wine.”
You only rolled your eyes playfully at the Kree, getting back under the covers with her. It was official (you don’t think there was ever any doubt); you were insanely and utterly in love with Carol Susan Jane Danvers, cherry wine and all. If she was willing to make changes to her life for you, that much was enough.
It was you and her forever, you were certain of that now. So, you let her stroke your hair and press kisses on the top of your head as you whispered, “Whatever happened between us or will happen in future, we got through it once and we’ll get through it again. It’s like you always say… higher, further, faster, baby.”

Uncle Cinderella
Day Four of Flufftober: Cinderella Moment. Read it here on AO3
“Good morning, Diaz’s!”
Both Eddie and Christopher, both who had been slumped over their cereal bowls, tiredness still clinging to them, perked up at the sound of the familiar voice. A few seconds later and Buck swept into the room with a bright grin on his face, lighting up the Diaz kitchen in a way that made Eddie’s heart swoop in his chest.
“Morning Buck!” Chris cheered, milk dribbling down his chin.
Eddie’s eyes swept over Buck as they usually did, taking in the deep blue jeans and tight t-shirt that he wore. Just the sight sent Eddie’ heart beating faster in his chest and his stomach clench. “Morning.”
Buck ruffled Chris curls as he passed the pre-teen on his way to the coffee maker. They didn’t need to make small talk as Buck made himself a cup of coffee, Buck not a guest in the Diaz home. A minute later and Buck was sliding into the free seat, knees knocking against Eddie’s under the table.
“Buck, are you here to take us to the zoo today?” Chris asked, looking at Buck hopefully.
Eddie shot his son an exasperated look, rolling his eyes. “Chris,” he said, tone warning.
“Sorry Superman,” Buck chuckled. “No zoo today. But I am here to take you shopping.”
“Shopping,” Chris groaned at the same time Eddie said, “You are?”
“Yep,” Buck said cheerfully. “Your dad said you needed some new clothes. Something about you growing like a weed?”
Chris grinned, shark-like. There were bits of cereal wedged between his teeth and it shouldn’t make Eddie fond, but it did. “Yeah! I’m going to be tall, like you!”
“Hey!” Eddie mock scowled while Buck burst out into bright laughter. Eddie elbowed him playfully. “I’m like an inch shorter than you.”
“Yeah, and your kid knows it,” Buck beamed right back. He turned to Chris, holding out his hand for a high-five. “Good one, Superman.”
Chris eagerly returned the gesture eagerly, giggling loudly. The sound filled Eddie’s chest with something warm and he couldn’t stop the fond smile that filled his face.
“Yeah, yeah,” Eddie mock grumbled when Chris’s laughter had subsided. “Finish your breakfast, mijo.”
t was a familiar, domestic, routine that had become so common place that Eddie had once tried not to look too hard at. The way Buck sat with Chris while he finished his breakfast and Eddie ducked a way to have a shower, the way Buck did the dishes while they got dressed, the way he tied up while Eddie hurried Chris along.
But lately Eddie had started to allow himself to look at it. Had allowed himself to feel exactly what he had been shoving deep down inside him. Buck was more than just his partner at work, more than just his best friend. It had taken Eddie many sessions with Frank to work through and accept the fact that he had fallen in love with his best friend. While it had been scary, Eddie felt infinitely better now that he had accepted it. All he had to do now was work up the courage to tell Buck.
As Eddie stepped out into the living room with Chris and Buck smiled at them brightly, asking:
“You boys ready?”
Eddie didn’t think it would be much longer until he caved and told Buck exactly how he felt.
~*~
“Can we get lunch now?” Chris asked, tilting his head to look up at Eddie with pleading eyes.
Eddie smoothed a hand through Chris’s curls (and relished that Chris still allowed him to do this every so often since he had become a pre-teen.) “Yeah.”
“Just one more shop first,” Buck said. “And it’s on the way to the food court. It will take two seconds, promise.”
“Okay,” Chris agreed easily.
“You didn’t need to do this,” Eddie said, bumping his shoulder against Buck’s as they exited the store.
“Do what?” Buck asked, effortlessly taking the shopping bags from Eddie’s hands, his free hand gently guiding Chris in the direction of the food court.
“Take Chris shopping,” Eddie said, scowling when Buck batted his hands away when he tried to take the bags back. “Take us out for lunch.”
“I like doing this,” Buck insisted, shifting the bags out of Eddie’s reach. “Besides, I need to pick something up while we are here so really, you’re doing me a favour.”
Eddie rolled his eyes. “Your logic is astounding.”
Buck grinned widely, brushing his shoulder against Eddie’s as they walked.
“Can we get milkshakes?” Chris asked.
“Sure,” Eddie agreed. “You can have one with your lunch.”
“Sweet!”
“Just here,” Buck said, nudging Eddie to a stop.
Eddie looked up at the shop, eyebrows raising as he saw it was a costume shop. With a hand to Chris’s shoulder, they two of them followed Buck into the store. Buck went straight to the counter, smiling brightly at the girl behind the desk.
“Hey, Buck,” the girl – Ashley according to the name tag on her shirt – greeted with a familiarity that made Eddie’s stomach clench tightly. “Here for your order?”
“Sure am,” Buck beamed.
“I’ll just grab that for you,” Ashely said before she quickly disappeared behind the curtain that was behind the desk.
“Did you order something for Halloween?” Chris asked curiously.
“Not for Halloween but I will defiantly be making it my costume this year,” Buck winked. “Got to get the most out of it while I can.”
Eddie was intrigued, even more so when Ashely returned, her arms ladened with the costume. Eddie’s eyes were instantly drawn to the blue tule that seemed to take up most of the protective plastic covering. As Ashley handed it over the desk, Eddie could see the blue bodice, decorated with what looked like glitter and tule sleeves.
“Here you go, Cinderella,” Ashely said. “Do you want to try it on before you go?”
“Nah, I’ll do that at home,” Buck said, taking the dress – no, the gown – from Ashely. “If there’s any issues I’ll call.”
“And we’ll get it fixed for free,” Ashely assured him. “Get your Prince Charming to help you with the zip at the back. There are a couple of hooks to keep it extra secure.” She winked at Eddie.
“Thanks for all your help,” Buck beamed, bouncing on his toes.
“Have a good day!”
On the way out, Eddie swiped the Chris’s bags from Buck so that he could carry the gown. He directed them to the food court, his eyes darting to the gown constantly.
“Is that really Cinderella’s dress?” Chris asked as they walked.
“Yep! Well, a version of it any way,” Buck said.
“How come you chose Cinderella?” Chris asked, blinking up at Buck curiously.
“Oh, well Jee-Yun and I were watching it and she wanted to play princesses,” Buck explained as they slowly made their way to the food court. “She was sad that none of the dresses could get over my shoulders.” He laughed and Chris broke out into giggles.
“So, you had one made,” Eddie stated. Something warm bloomed behind his rib cage, spreading throughout his chest and arms, all the way down to his fingers and toes. It was something fond and light and filled with overwhelming love.
“Of course!” Buck said, as if it was the simplest thing to do. And to Buck, it was. “How else am I supposed to be Cinderella without the dress, Eddie?”
“I love you.”
The words spilled out of Eddie before he could even think of them.
Buck came to a dead-stop, turning to stare at Eddie. His eyes were wide, lips parted as he looked at him and Eddie tried desperately not to squirm under the intense gaze. He could take the words back. Could stammer out a lie and move the conversation along. But the words were out there, and Eddie felt nothing but pure relief.
“You love me?” Buck asked. The words came out soft, almost like he was in disbelief and awe at the same time.
“I do,” Eddie said, unable to stop the smile from spreading across his lips. “I love you so much, Buck.”
Buck blinked several times and then he broke out in a giant grin. He took a step towards Eddie, closing the distance between them. “I love you too.”
Eddie felt the last of the tension seep from his shoulders and then he leaned forward to press his lips against Buck’s. It was soft, a press of their lips together, a quick taste before they were pulling away. There would be time for more later, when they weren’t in the middle of a shopping centre, strangers surrounding them.
“Did you really just tell Buck you love him, here?” Chris asked, nose scrunched up.
“Uh,” Eddie blinked down at Chris, a sudden wave of uncertainty crashing over him.
Chris heaved a big sigh. “Dad, how are you so bad at this?”
“Hey!” Eddie spluttered, unsure if he should be relieved that Chris seemed to approve of him being in love with Buck or annoyed at how sassy his pre-teen had become.
“I thought he did alright,” Buck said, winking at Eddie. He looked at Chris, the smile falling from his face. “You okay with this, Superman?”
“Duh,” Chris said, rolling his eyes. “Does this mean you’ll move in now?”
Buck laughed bright and loud as Eddie rolled his eyes fondly.
“Not yet, buddy,” Buck said.
“Soon,” Eddie added and swallowed as Buck’s blue eyes sparkled brightly. “But let’s start with lunch first. Come on.”
~*~
When the had finished lunch (and had their milkshakes) they made their way home. Buck drove and Eddie spent the entire trip staring at Buck’s face with a dopey grin on his face. Buck’s own smile was just as sappy, and he held Eddie’s hand whenever he had the chance.
Chris made himself comfortable on the couch as soon as they got inside, Eddie and Buck disappearing into the kitchen. When the bags were set down, Buck’s hands were suddenly cradling Eddie’s face and pulling him into a kiss.
Eddie sighed against Buck’s lips, melting into the kiss and Buck’s strong hands. Their lips moved lazily against one another, drinking in one another as they tasted each other for the first time.
“I love you,” Buck murmured when they finally parted for a breath. “So much.”
“Love you too,” Eddie said, brushing his nose against Buck’s. “Sorry it took me so long –“
“No,” Buck cut him off. “We got here. It’s doesn’t matter. We’re here now and that’s all that matters.”
“Yeah,” Eddie sighed happily.
Buck grinned, pecking Eddie on the lips one more time before he pulled back. “So, all this because of Cinderella?” He waggled his eyebrows suggestively.
“More like because you were being you. Thoughtful, kind, generous, having a custom dress made for yourself because your niece wanted to play princesses.”
Buck ducked his head, a blush dusting his cheeks. “Eddie.”
Eddie pressed a quick kiss to Buck’s cheek. “Which you now have to show us. Go on, go put it on.”
Buck chuckled, grabbing the gown. He disappeared out of the kitchen. Eddie killed time by taking the tags off Chris’s new clothes and putting them away. When he was done, Buck was just coming out of Eddie’s room, blue gown in place.
Eddie breath caught in his chest.
Of course, Buck had gone all out with the costume. It was a beautiful replica (which must have cost him a small fortune). The bodice sat tight around his chest and waist before his long legs were covered by yards of blue tule that flared out.
“Can you help me with the zip and hooks, Prince Charming?” Buck grinned.
“Yeah,” Eddie said, the word coming out cracked. He cleared his throat, ignoring Buck’s wicked grin.
Buck didn’t say anything, just turned around so his back was to Eddie. Eddie carefully clipped the hooks together before doing up the zip. He placed a kiss on the base of Buck’s neck, grinning at the shiver it elicited.
“Done.”
Buck turned, the bottom of the dress swishing with the movement. “Think I can pass as a Princess?”
Eddie cocked his head to one side, letting his gaze sweep over Buck before settling on his eyes. “Maybe if you had a tiara too.”
Buck shoved Eddie’s shoulder lightly. “Dick.”
“You look amazing,” Eddie said sincerely. “Jee-Yun is lucky to have you as her uncle.”
“Thanks,” Buck said, giving Eddie a bashful smile.
“Go show Chris,” Eddie said, stepping aside to let Buck pass. “Maybe you can convince him to dress up as a pumpkin for Halloween.”
Buck grinned as he swept past Eddie. “Only if you’ll be Prince Charming.”
Eddie chuckled as Buck disappeared down the hall. He sagged against the wall, a bright smile on his face as Chris let out a loud shriek.
“You look awesome!”
Eddie ducked his head, his cheeks aching as his smile grew wider. It may have taken him a while, but Buck was right. They were here now and all that mattered now was the two people in the living room and all the moments they would create going forward.

WOL/Raha Week Day 4 Name Day
Rating: T for Teen Characters: G'raha Tia, Keith Summers, Khloe Aliapoh, G'khenna Summers, Kirian Summers Notes: Keith can't win.
Tumblr media
Keith wrinkled his nose then shot up out of bed. Smoke was thick in his bedroom, wafting in from the hall. In a panic, he tugged on his sweat pants then scrambled out into the kitchen, finding G’khenna and Khloe fighting over a burning pan while Kirian dug under the sink
“Khloe said you had to flip it! Why did you not flip it,” Khloe breathed out.
“I’m not a culinarian! The directions said to leave it for five minutes before flipping. It was only four! It was only four,” G’khenna fired back before screaming with her friend as Kirian sprayed them and the stove down with a fire-hydrant.
“Whoops…,” Kirian said before backing away as his sister and friend started to walk slowly toward them, trying not to laugh. “I-I just wanted to put out the fire!”
“I’m going to put you out,” G’khenna growled back.
“Khloe’s outfit is soaked! Unacceptable!”
“Looks like an improvement to me,” the young boy said, giving in to his laughter.
“OI! ENOUGH,” Keith roared, putting his hands on his hips, clearing his throat after using his dad-voice.
His children stopped, all looking at him before hurrying over and jumping on him with hugs, tackling him to the floor in the process.
“Happy Name Day Daddy!” G’khenna sang, echoed by her younger brother.
“Happy Name Day Mr. Summers,” Khloe said too.
Keith squirmed free. “Is it that time already? Ah, hey. Don’t distract me. Why is the house on fire,” he demanded.
G”khenna sat up then frowned. “We wanted to make you breakfast in bed but I don’t know how to cook.”
“You should have listened to Khloe…to me,” Khloe huffed, crossing her arms. “I know how to make pineapple pancakes. My big sister taught me.”
“I was cutting the pineapple and putting out the fire. I didn’t set it at all,” Kirian said, quick to advocate his innocence.
Keith balked, “You’re not supposed to be using knives!”
“G’k let me!”
“He was fine. I was watching him…until the pancake burned,” G’khenna hummed before looking back at the mess.
Standing, Keith sighed then looked at his stove, his precious range looking rather singed. “I really love the gesture, but nothing good comes from the three of you in my kitchen. I’ll take care of breakfast. Girls, go clean yourselves up. Kirian, help me get rid of all this foam,” he ordered before getting to work.
By the time he’d finished, the girls had returned, cleaned up and changed. G’khenna tilting her head, looked around. “Where is father? Did he not wake up with you?”
Keith blinked, realizing the other hand not roused from slumber…or perhaps wasn’t even there when he woke. “Raha? You there,” he called out, heading down the hall as their apartment door opened up.
Coming in, G’raha huffed then placed several boxes on the table before looking around at his family. “It seems I was right to think breakfast would need rescuing. With that foresight I went out to procure some Lemon Waffles from Rickon.”
Keith crossed his arms. “You knew they’d destroy my stove,” he asked, furrowing his brow.
G’raha’s ears perked up. Turning, he looked at his husband then let out a nervous laugh. “Well, I didn’t think they could do anything that couldn’t be undone and it looks like you’ve dealt with whatever went wrong,” he said as the kids started to dig into the boxes and help themselves.
“My stove though…You know how much I love cooking on that. I made our first family meal on it,” Keith whined.
“Ah, forgive me. I suppose it is irreplaceable. Just like our beloved daughter and son, both of which crossed the salt either on their own or with you in which then they pursued-”
Keith puffed up his cheeks then moved to hug his husband from behind while putting his hand over his mouth. “So, for my birthday, I would like very much if that is forgotten and never brought up again.”
G’raha wiggled his ears then gave a nod so that he’d be let go. Smiling, he lifted up on his toes to peck his sweet husband before taking a seat. “I think that is far more feasible than my first idea.”
Sitting down with his family, Keith pulled over his box then popped it open, finding his to have a couple extra waffles than the rest, his husband knowing his stomach well. Slicing a little corner of his waffle, he went to take a bite asking,  “Oh? What was your first idea?”
“I was going to have the kitchen remodeled for you with newer appliances since we’re home. But your request is much more reasonable for our gil purse,” G’raha said, letting his tail twitch playfully behind him as Keith sat slack jawed, waffle plopping off his fork and into the box.

Vamptember Day 1
“5+1 / Pantheist / Leather”
SUMMARY: Struggling to keep up with your college lectures, an interesting pair come to your rescue.
PAIRING: Platonic Armand, Daniel, and Female Reader
WORD COUNT: 2,385
WARNINGS: none!
AUTHOR’S NOTE:
Yippeee!! Vamptember is afoot! So I’m planning on making this a series and adding onto it every day. I don’t know if I can up the word count any more than 2k but by god will I try, gang. I will be posting this also on Ao3 a little later, if you’d rather read it there. I also plan on adding a few characters here and there of course ;)
I chose “Pantheist” for today’s prompt, cause I’m a slut for religion. Enjoy!
Baruch Spinoza was a philosopher of Portuguese-Jewish origin, born in Amsterdam, the Dutch Republic, and mostly known under the Latinized pen name Benedictus de Spinoza. One of the foremost and seminal thinkers of the Enlightenment, modern biblical criticism, and 17th-century Rationalism. At least, that’s what your notes say. And you hope to God it’s all correct, because all throughout your evening lecture, you had not been paying attention. Your brain was fried after waking up at six in the morning for the free breakfast in the dining hall. And even though your body couldn’t afford loosing any more sleep, your wallet definitely couldn’t afford any groceries, so it was your only chance to eat all day. What was even more disheartening was that your very last class was scheduled to start at nine o’clock at night. At. Night. When you would usually be snuggled up in bed, fast asleep after reading a few chapters of the book on your bedside table.
So there you sat, nodding off every few minutes, trying desperately to stay conscious as your mind weaved the professor’s words into a lovely little dream for you to quickly slip into.
And every time you tried to zone back in, your professor’s five-syllable words and complicated “if this then that” curriculum just left you all the more discouraged. You ended up doodling in the margins of your notebook hopelessly until he called for the end of class. The room shuffled around you as college students from all walks of life stumbled sleepily to their dorms, slamming textbooks shut and slinging bags over their shoulders. You just sat there, yawning, waiting for an opening to join them in the trudge back home. It reminded you of a war movie you had seen with your dad one time, watching the people file out like a brigade of soldiers, thousand yard stares and dry blood-shot eyes on every face.
Except one.
One bright, young face in particular stood out from the crowd, not just his face, but his whole being. It’d be hard not to stand out with red hair like that.
His eyes were clear as they searched the room calmly, he moved- not necessarily energetically, but it was clear he seemed to have an abundance of energy.
That was a guy who was used to the late-night schedule. Easily descending the stairs to the door, he carried his backpack like it weighed nothing. Which you knew was impossible, if he indeed had all the required reading in there. You didn’t quite make out what he was saying, but he turned to a friend who walked next to him and began to speak.
His friend looked pretty much like how you felt.
Slouchy posture, languid steps, dark circles under his grey eyes, messy blonde hair pointing this way and that. It looked like he was trusting his more enlivened friend to walk him in the right direction. And given how the other brought his arm around his slouchy friend to lead him through the doorway, instead of smacking into the frame, that was probably the case.
You watched as the pair disappeared down the hall and you slowly pushed yourself up out of your seat as an opening in the crowd presented itself. Slowly making your way down the steps, you followed the brigade of students out of the room and onto the campus, into the cool night air, dorm room bound.
The interesting pair of friends lingered in your mind as you drifted off to sleep that night. You’re pretty sure you’ve heard talk of them around, but, you’ve never seen them yourself, until that point.
The “polite young foreign genius” and his “less polite, gangly friend”. There were stories, oh were there stories, but you never payed any attention to them. Gossip always left a bad taste in your mouth, as much as you loved it, so you just did the adult thing and assumed everything you heard was false. Though, some rumors did give you a good laugh. Like how the younger one was a prince from some European country, and, being so out of touch with society, he payed this poor miserable sob to hang out with him.
It was funnier now having lay your own eyes on them. You could totally see it.
The next night, Nine o’clock returned, and you sat at the same desk with your notebook open, trying to decipher your sleep-deprived hand writing from the other night. You gave up after a few attempts and only being able to make out ‘Baruch Spinoza???’ scribbled in sharp, frustrated pencil. Great, incredibly helpful, as the name was also written on the board right in front of you.
A heavy sigh came from your lips and you rubbed your face in an attempt to clear your brain fog. You had no idea how you were going to graduate if you couldn’t even stay awake for the classes. On top of that, barely surviving on free cereal and hash browns in the cafeteria was certainly not optimal brain food. You considered laying your head down on the desk right there and withering away as students began filling up seats. You gave it a shot, resting your forehead on your folded arms and trying to ignore the every growing hunger in your stomach, the tension headache slowly forming behind your eyes.
The quiet and creaky auditorium gradually filled with voices, rising in volume as more and more people began to strike up conversation around you. It irritated you. You were grumpy and you wanted everyone in the world to stop talking. Or, at least give you the answers to the upcoming test. Either one would’ve lifted your spirits.
“No, I didn’t know him personally, Daniel, you’re not very funny.”
A unique voice lifted up and out of the clamor from behind you, catching your interest immediately.
“Now if you would’ve said ‘Giordano Bruno’ we might have had a very interesting conversation,”
He pronounced the Italian name with ease, nailing the accent perfectly.
“-However these ‘professors’ read one book and suddenly they are the masters and we pay them. You’ve read ‘Ethics’, Daniel, take to the stage and give us your best shot. I’m sure you’d be doing a better job than this fop.”
His tone was passionate and irritated, Daniel, you assumed, chuckled quietly next to him.
“I think I should take offense to that.”
As you listened to their conversation, you realized that some actually helpful notes would make your year, possibly save your life and college career. And from what little you’ve heard from them so far, their notes would definitely be better than yours. Well- anyone’s notes would be better than yours, but these two seemed to know what they were doing. You lifted your head from your arms gingerly and turned around to ask.
But you were embarrassingly dumbfounded.
You don’t know how you didn’t realize it last night, it must have been the sleep deprivation or the lighting, or the fact that he sat very near to you now, but the red head was possibly the most beautiful person you had ever seen in your life.
Smooth auburn hair in delicate curls and waves rested just above his shoulders, a richly deep color that you’ve never had the pleasure of seeing naturally. Dark brown eyes that held your stare unblinkingly, almost against your will with an oddly cold and unforgiving expression. It unnerved you slightly.
Pale round face and dignified posture, his mouth in a slight pout or frown. You would’ve been surprised if he wasn’t a prince.
You cleared your throat, breaking away slightly, realizing you were being incredibly rude.
“I’m sorry- I was just wondering if you guys had any notes I could copy? I must have fallen asleep in the middle of the lecture and…”
You held up your notebook to them, showing your sad and pathetically empty page, and shrugged.
The blonde nodded, mumbling a “sure” and reached into his bag, pulling out a crumpled spiral-bound composition book that looked water damaged, and began flipping through pages.
“Thank you so much, I just- I don’t usually do this, it’s just this schedule.” You replied, feeling a bit like a burden as he flipped through page after page, looking for the correct notes. One of the pages was brown and wrinkly, as if someone had spilt a full cup of coffee all over it.
“It’s no problem, I have it somewhere…”
You shifted a little, noticing the other staring at you still. You glanced back and met his gaze again, unsure if you did something wrong.
You wanted to ask him what his problem was, but he cut you off.
“You don’t often fall asleep during a lecture? Is this correct?”
He had a hint of an accent you couldn’t quite place, but it was all around enjoyable. His voice was oddly clear and sharp, it penetrated the noise in the auditorium easily.
“Yeah, that’s right.” You answered him, feeling a little judged.
“Why is that, do you think?”
He spoke unapologetically, never breaking eye contact. You suddenly felt like you were at a job interview. You furrowed your eyebrows and unconsciously stood up straighter. Were you going to have a bully? He seemed young enough to be bullying people still.
“I’m sorry?” You said, finally.
“What do you think of this professor? Do you think him adequate for what you are paying for tuition?” He rolled the “r” on the word “professor”.
“Oh.”
A bit of relief washed through you as you realized he was complaining about the teacher again, not taking a dig at your academic determination. Although, it felt like a loaded question. He looked like he had a plethora of opinions waiting to be released as he awaited your answer.
“I don’t really- yes? I think I do. I’m not sure really. I haven’t been awake for any of his lectures yet.” You laughed nervously.
He turned his head calmly to look at his friend, who ignored him as he still flipped through the pages.
“This is exactly what I’m talking about, Daniel. This poor girl can’t even keep her eyes open.”
He gestured to you with an open hand, still facing Daniel, who finally ripped out a page from his composition notebook and handed it to you, his tired grey eyes meeting yours.
“There it is.”
And before you could thank him-
“Are you a pantheist yourself?”
You looked from one to the other, feeling a bit of whiplash beginning to fester in your neck.
“A what?”
“A pantheist. Such as Baruch Spinoza, the topic of the lecture.“
His brown eyes bore into yours, he barely ever moved, and when he did, to gesture with his hand or adjust his seat, he did it with a sort of biblical grace. Like how you imagined Jesus moved. Your eyes caught the motion of his hand and noticed pale fingers decorated with rings.
“I was raised Christian but…” You said, writing the notes hurriedly into your own notebook, squinting at the messy handwriting.
“My relationship with the big man is a bit complicated now.” You gave him a tight smile “What about you? You seem to know a lot about it.”
He gave you a slow and understanding nod before replying.
“It is one topic of many that interest me, however I’m no loyal to it than yourself.”
He stared down at you with regal posture and stillness as you hunched over your paper, scribbling the last few sentences. With these few paragraphs alone you were already thinking of all the books you needed to borrow from the campus library. In all honesty, with the amount of class you slept away yesterday, you were looking at an all-nighter surrounded by books and a bucket sized coffee cup.
“Again, thank you so much. You have no idea how much this helped. I‘ve got my work cut out for me.” You looked up and smiled gratefully, giving the paper back to him.
“Sure.” Daniel replied. He began opening his notebook to place the paper back inside, when the paper was delicately taken out of his hand. He didn’t even take pause and he closed his notebook anyway, as if used to his friend’s sticky fingers.
“It was such a pleasure to talk with you. It is not very often I find someone so willing for a conversation like myself, I tell you.”
As he spoke to you, he took a pen which rested atop his desk, very sleek and elegant, it looked like it had a nice heft and weight to it as it shifted between his fingers. He jotted down something at the bottom of the page, dark eyelashes resting on his cheekbones as his eyes cast downward before flitting up again and handing the page back to you.
Curiously, you took it again with two fingers, glancing at Daniel for any sign of correction or confusion. He merely placed his notebook back into his bag, uncaring.
“We do not need it.” Daniel’s friend assured you, “Please keep it.”
You stared at him for a second, and smiled. Something about his energy was…addicting. His subtle feline movements, his confident tone and gestures, the cool, pointed expression that never wavered from his face. He was all too perfect.
It was almost eerie…
The auditorium around you had quieted down gradually as the professor walked in, his heels thumping on the old wood floor. Desks creaked and chairs scooted in as friends departed from their conversations to sit down.
“Again, thank you so much.” You whispered, giving both a grateful nod, which they returned, before finally turning around in your seat again and peering at the page you were gifted.
Immediately it caught your eye. In rich black ink and curling neat cursive, was a short paragraph on the bottom of the page, an odd contrast with the lazy and dull pencil writing above it.
It was an apartment address, in a neighborhood you passed frequently just outside campus. A very wealthy neighborhood, if you remembered correctly.
Under the address, was a short note written in handwriting that matched his looks perfectly, small, neat, and clean.
“If ever you should need help again, please have no hesitance in coming by our apartment.”

Twinkle Park (Sonic/Amy)
A/N: Annnd part two (and final part) of my Valentine’s day special! I may prefer my two gay bois (Sonadow) but I do ship Sonic with a couple other characters. Amy being one of them. They’re just too cute! I apologize in advance for any spelling/grammer errors and I hope you enjoy! I’m gonna continue to post couple one shots but since Febuary is over they will no longer be Valentine’s day themed!
Sonic rolled over hitting his alarm clock and snoozing it. He hated mornings. Or at least it took him a while to get up and out of bed. Being someone who had severe ADHD it was hard for him to get a good night's rest and yet he was always up early despite that. Ah well, nothing could really be done about that. He buried his face in his pillow hoping for a few more minutes, or maybe hours, of rest. Alas, the gods were not in his favor. Not even a second later there was a familiar knock on the door.
“Sonic come on it’s time to get up.” the young kitsune with which he shared his home called.
“Five more minutes Tails!” Sonic groaned. “Please bro!”
“Normally I’d say fine but it’s February 14th. Valentine’s Day. Amy’s going to be over soon.” Tails replied barely able to contain his laughter.
It was pretty obvious that, despite the fact that Sonic kept rejecting Amy’s advances, he had a crush on her. The only person who didn’t seem to fully realize this was Sonic himself. Over the years Amy slowly started to give up any hope that he’d reciprocate her feelings, but Valentine’s day was one she would spend with Sonic no matter what. It was tradition if anything at this point. The two would go out and enjoy breakfast together then do whatever came to mind. Just spending the day together. Amy had long since accepted she couldn’t tie the free-spirited hedgehog down, but enjoyed the time they spent together on that day regardless.
This year however was different. Sonic was determined to make it so. His time on the Starfall Islands had been a wake-up call. He really did like Amy and was finally starting to accept it. Today he wanted to show her that.
“Oh shoot! I forgot! I’m up!” Sonic scrambled out of bed racing to get his socks and shoes on. Being the fastest thing alive he was ready in only seconds.
“Ok! I’m up!” Sonic announces flinging open his door to be greeted with a smirking Tails.
“Well that was fast.” Tails chuckles. At that exact moment, the doorbell rings.
“Looks like you got ready just in time.” Tails says.
“Yup! Thanks for waking me up bud. I owe ya.” Sonic chuckles ruffling the kitsune's fur before racing off down the stairs and to the front door maneuvering around Tails’ moving box
“Hey Ames!” Sonic grins as he opens the door to greet the pink hedgehog.
“Sonic! You’re actually ready on time for once.” she laughs.
“Yeah well it helps when your genius bro acts like a backup alarm.” he rolls his eyes jokingly.
“That explains a lot actually.” Amy giggles.
“You ready to get some grub?” Sonic asks. Amy nods in response. Sonic steps out of the house locking the door behind him before turning to Amy and extending his arm in a dorky manner.
“M’lady!” he bows his head a stupid grin on his face. Amy can’t help but blush as she links her arm with Sonic before the two take off, it surprises even her that the blue blur can still have this effect on her.
Guess you never really can get over your first crush. Especially when he’s super flirtatious on a normal basis. She still doesn’t expect anything out of this day quickly dashing the hope rising in her heart completely unaware of Sonic’s master plan.
The two make some small talk as they walk enjoying the breeze. It’s surprisingly nice for February. They enjoy the scenery as they walk Amy points out the occasional flower or bird causing the two to pause and take a moment. Normally Sonic would be annoyed by these delays only hiding it to spare his friend's feelings but today, today he loves taking this time. It gives him more time to admire Amy and listen to her sweet voice as they talk about this and that. He wishes this walk would never end.
Eventually, though the two make it to the little restaurant they like to visit on this day. It’s out of the way of crowds and noise. Being the hero of Mobius comes with a lot of press so it was nice for the two not to have to worry about that as they enjoyed their breakfast.
“Here Amy.” Sonic leads her over to a table pulling out a chair for her. “I’ll go order us some tea and coffee rolls.” he says as Amy sits down.
It’s their usual on this day. Made extra special, for Amy at least, by the fact that everything is made to scream Valentine’s day!
The shop is littered with heart-shaped napkins and streamers. Vases with pink roses sit in the center of every table. Every cup and plate is adorned with a heart pattern. The coffee rolls and donuts are all shaped like hearts. Amy can’t get enough. Sonic on the other hand could take it or leave it.
“Alright. You remember what tea I like?” Amy asks tilting her head as Sonic pushes in her chair.
“Of course I do! What do you take me for!” he gasps in mock hurt.
“A hedgehog with severe ADHD.” she laughs.
“Ok fair.” Sonic snorts. “But yes I remember.” he pats her head before racing to the counter to put in their order. He had to resist the urge to kiss her cheek, but nope today he must be patient. It will all pay off by the end of the night. He smiles softly to himself.
Lost in thought the line passed quicker than it usually does for him. He was a bit surprised when he got to the front giving the cashier his order. He flashed them a smile when he noticed they seemed a bit flustered around him. It was alright though. He didn’t mind being kind to his fans. He made a bit of small talk with the cashier since there wasn’t anyone else in line at this point until his order was ready. Saying goodbye and giving the cashier a salute he raced off to grab the rolls and tea before heading back to Amy who was occupied with her phone.
“Hey, Ames! I got the food!” he grins setting it down on the table.
“Oh! Thank you Sonic!” she offered him a smile. “I was just coordinating with Cream, Sticks, and Vanilla. You know that road trip I mentioned?” Sonic nodded in response. “We’re putting all the plans together now. It should be fun!” Amy giggles.
“Yeah, I bet!” Sonic grins. ‘You’ll have to send me a bunch of pictures.”
“Oh I will! You know me. I like to document everything!” she giggles.
“I’ll have to get you more scrapbook gear soon.” Sonic laughs. “Your really good at it! It’s nice to have someone who keeps all our adventures documented so we can look back whenever we want to.”
Amy blushes. “It’s nothing. It helps keep me occupied when we don’t have anything going on.”
“Well, again you're good at it! You could even make your own business out of it. In fact, you have many talents that you could probably make a business out of.” Sonic laughs. “Your pretty resourceful.”
“T-That’s really sweet of you to say.” Amy blushes slightly.
“It’s the truth.” Sonic shrugs taking a swig of his tea.
Amy giggles and the two continue with their normal conversation.
~~
After a while, the two have finished up their food and are getting ready to head out.
“Hey, Ames can I pick out where we hang this time round?” Sonic asks as he takes Amy’s hand leading her out the door.
Amy raises an eyebrow. “Alright but I’m not spending the day on a race course or eating chili dogs.”
“Trust me!” Sonic snorts. “I think your gonna like this.” he smiles.
“Alright, we’ll see hedgehog.” Amy teases.
After a few moments of walking, it becomes very clear where they’re heading.
“Oh my god Sonic!” Amy’s face lights up. “Are you serious!”
“As the plague!” Sonic declares placing a hand over his heart.
“But you’ve never wanted to go here with me before!” she smiles in excitement.
“Well there’s a first time for everything isn’t there.” he chuckles as the two approach Twinkle Park.
They enter the amusement park Amy looks around wide-eyed with excitement. Like the cafe, everything is decked out for Valentine’s Day and there are a bunch of couples running around happily.
Sonic chuckles to himself as he buys two tickets before taking Amy’s hand and leading her into the park.
“Come on! I wanna check out the rollercoaster!” he grins.
“You really are an adrenaline junky.” Amy laughs as the two run off to the nearest coaster.
~~
The day is a flurry of activity. Games, rides, and food! Sonic even ends up winning Amy a stuffed bear which she happily hugs onto for the remainder of the day.
“Hey Ames I have an idea for our last ride!” he grins pointing to the Ferris wheel.
“Really Sonic? I never thought that was a ride you would enjoy.” Amy cocks an eyebrow.
“Well, I’m not one to pass up a killer view!” Sonic grins.
“Well I guess that’s fair.” Amy giggles.
“Come on let’s go before the line gets too long!” Sonic exclaims taking her hand and racing with her to the line.
They only have to wait a few minuets before hopping into their seat and only a few more before they make it to the top and stop.
“This really is a great view!” Amy smiles looking out at the park below them. The lights and music drifting up to them.
“Mhmm!” Sonic smiles. “And it’s the perfect place for this.” Despite his racing heart Sonic gently turns Amy to face him leaning in slowly to give her time to pull away. Her face lights up turning bright red, but she dosn’t turn away. No. This has been something she’s wanted for years and only gotten in dreams.
The moment dosn’t last long as Sonic’s lips meet Amy’s. Instead the anticipation turns into something else. Something better. As fireworks light up the sky, per Twinkle Park’s normal night time routine, Amy feels like her heart might explode. She quickly kisses back her eyes closing as her arms warp around Sonic’s neck.
For Sonic it feels like the world is on fire. He never realized his heart could go this fast, and that’s saying something! He wraps his arms around Amy pulling her closer as the two melt into the magical moment, the world melting around them only leaving the two of them.
All too soon the moment ends and the two pull away for air.
“I umm I r-really like you Ames.” Sonic blushes running a hand through his quills, his nervous habit. “I was just too stupid to realize sooner, and for that I’m sorry.”
“It’s ok Sonic! I’ve waited this long havn’t I?” Amy giggles. “I’d honestly given up hope at this point.”
Sonic takes Amy’s hand and squeezes it.
“I know this is pretty bad timing considering you’re leaving for that trip soon but…I finally wanted to tell. Seeing you trapped like that when we were on the Starfall Islands. Not being able to talk to you…it made me realize how much I care about you. How much you mean to me. I cannot picture my life without you in it.” Sonic smiles. “And that’s not me trying to make you stay. I want you to go out and spread all that love you have in that big heart of yours, but just know you have someone waiting for you to come back. That is if you’ll have me.”
“Don’t be silly! Of course I want to be your girlfriend.” she giggles. “I’d stopped chasing you but I never stopped loving you.”
Sonic smiles cupping her cheek in his hand. She leans into his touch humming cotently.
“I’m glad Amy.” he smiles. “I’m really glad.”
Amy nuzzles up to him resting her head on his shoulder hugging the teddy bear he won her close. With is arm wrapped around her shoulder she feels complete.
The two spend the rest of the ride snuggled together. Finally together after all these years.

Crossing El Salvador: Cerro Verde to San Miguel
We left Cerro Verde for what would be a two day affair to cross the borders getting us to Nicaragua where our real trip continued. I woke up very early to try and get a lukewarm shower at the campsite rather than the cold ones everyone else had been getting. It was a good way to refresh, and then I packed up ready to load my bag onto the van and have breakfast. Deme and I went back to the cafe but having learned from our mistake, we just ordered the regular cappuccino this time! Others in the group did paintballing while the rest of us took our morning easy. The group returned to the bus ready for our five hour drive to San Miguel sweating and covered in welts and bruises. Georgi had been shot particularly hard as she had accidentally hit Max in his manhood and he'd been given a free redemption shot that turned into him emptying the gun on her. The ride was long and dull and broken up only by some gas station stops for snacks along the way. We'd left around 11am from our campsite and had expected to arrive around 5pm to San Miguel. Traffic was quite heavy as we passed through what seemed like El Salvador's only main road. We stopped for lunch at Comida Mercedes in Cojutepeque which was, in a word - chaotic. Walter had attempted a Spanish lesson during the drive and taught us the names of some fruits and vegetables that we might like/not like and lettuce and cabbage which we should not eat at all until we reach Costa Rica due to pesticides. There was a stop to ride a boat around Laguna de Apastepeque for one dollar each, the music was blaring and we all crammed into the boat. The boaties rocked it from side to side to where I was a little nervous that either the boat would fill up with water, or we'd flip over and fall in the lake. After circling the lake and waving at everyone we came across the boaties helped us all back onto land. We got back into the minibus and after a couple more hours we had arrived at a mall in San Miguel down the road from our hotel. We had about 30 minutes to use the toilets, buy some snacks for the long day tomorrow to cross two borders, and look around the mall. We tried to find souvenir magnets for El Salvador but the only ones for sale were $7 and terrible quality. Instead I went to the supermarket to spend some money on some snacks for tomorrow. The cashier didn't believe the $20 bill I paid with was real so they had to check it out, and then he didn't have enough change either so I was stuck waiting for him to get change. I ended up being the last one back to the bus and felt so guilty taking my seat when everyone else was ready. Our hotel was a few more minutes away and then we could check in and shower at last! Walter made a reservation for us in the hotel restaurant and about half the group showed up. I sat with Tyrza, Wout, and Boukje, the Dutch speaking trio as well as Jess, Emily and Cam from the UK. Boukje and Jess split a grilled fish platter and Wout, Tyrza, and I split a barbecue grill platter. It was huge! It came out with chicken, beef, and sausages, as well as about 4 large potatoes cut up on the grill, a bowl of garlic bread, and 4 dipping sauces/salsas. Split between the 3 of us, we only paid about $9 each and ate until we were stuffed. With a few cocktails tacked on there it was still less than $20 for a relatively nice restaurant dinner and drinks. After dinner we headed back to our rooms for an early night before our 4:30am departure tomorrow morning to get to the border. I saw Emily and Georgi sitting in the lobby in a panic that the receptionist couldn't speak English and they needed a taxi. Georgi had dyed her hair again (after dying it two days earlier while at the campsite...) and it had gone fully orange. They were on a mission to try and find some toner but keep in mind these are the two who didn't even know the words to ask for a bathroom in Spanish, going out alone at night when we needed to be ready to leave at 4:30am! I told them to take a photo of the hotel sign and how to say "help" if they ran into trouble and wished them luck.

ꕥ bed chem; — jake drabble, wc: 1.0k, genre: romance, fluff
the morning started off normally enough, with you and jake enjoying breakfast together. but when you opened your phone to see twitter and tiktok blowing up with rumors about sabrina carpenter’s new song "bed chem" possibly being inspired by him, you couldn’t resist the opportunity to tease him.
“jake,” you called out, trying to keep the laughter out of your voice.
he looked up from his cereal, tilting his head slightly in that endearing, golden-retriever way he always did when you had his full attention. “yeah?”
you held up your phone, showing him the screen with all the tweets and tiktoks swirling around. “so... have you been moonlighting as sabrina carpenter’s muse?”
he blinked in confusion, his brows furrowing in that cute way that always made your heart flutter. “huh? what are you talking about?”
you couldn’t help the grin spreading across your face. “i don’t know, just wondering if you’ve been secretly inspiring hit songs about... bed chemistry.”
for a moment, jake just stared at you, clearly trying to figure out where this was coming from. then, realization hit him, and his eyes widened as he let out a laugh. “wait, are you serious? people think that song is about me?”
you shrugged, enjoying every second of this. “well, you did meet her during that tiktok challenge when you were both in the same city... and you were wearing that white jacket...”
jake’s laugh turned into a sheepish grin. “okay, yeah, i met her, but that doesn’t mean—” he stopped himself, shaking his head with a playful sigh. “i promise, it’s not me. we only met for, like, five minutes.”
you leaned back in your chair, crossing your arms and giving him an exaggeratedly skeptical look. “sure, sure. i believe you… maybe.”
jake tilted his head again, his lips forming into a perfect pout, clearly hoping to win you over with his puppy-dog eyes. but today, you weren’t going to let him off that easily.
“alright, alright,” jake said, raising his hands in mock surrender. “but you don’t really believe this, right?”
“oh, i don’t know,” you teased, giving him a playful side-eye. “guess we’ll just have to see how today goes.”
and so began your day of lighthearted teasing. as you got ready to head out for a walk, jake turned to you, his hand slipping into yours. “so, what do you want to do today?”
you pretended to think it over, tapping your chin with your free hand. “hmm, i’m not sure. maybe you should ask sabrina?”
jake laughed, shaking his head in disbelief. “you’re really going to keep this up all day, aren’t you?”
“maybe,” you replied with a grin. “but only because your pouting is so cute.”
throughout the day, you found every opportunity to poke fun at the rumor. when you were at a café, jake handed you the menu and asked, “what do you feel like eating?”
you didn’t miss a beat. “oh, i don’t know. maybe sabrina can help you decide?”
jake rolled his eyes, but the smile on his face never wavered. “you’re really enjoying this, huh?”
“more than you know,” you said, sticking your tongue out playfully.
later, when jake was looking at his phone, trying to decipher a text message in korean that was just a little too complicated, he asked, “what does this mean?”
without looking up from your own phone, you replied, “i bet sabrina knows.”
jake let out a dramatic sigh, but you could see the corners of his mouth twitching as he tried not to smile. “you’re impossible, you know that?”
“only for you,” you shot back, grinning.
as the day wore on, jake’s playful pouts and mock exasperation only fueled your teasing more. you loved how easy it was to joke with him, how your relationship was built on a foundation of love and fun. every quip, every exaggerated eye roll, was done in good faith, knowing that at the end of the day, there was no one else you’d rather be with.
by the time you both got home that evening, you were lounging on the couch, flipping through tv channels when jake flopped down beside you with a dramatic sigh. “okay, okay,” he said, turning to face you with an over-the-top pout. “i give up. are you ever going to let me live this down?”
you looked at him with mock seriousness, pretending to weigh your options. “hmm... i’m not sure. maybe if you make it up to me?”
jake’s eyes sparkled with mischief as he leaned in closer, his arms wrapping around you. “oh, i can definitely do that.”
before you could respond, he started peppering your face with kisses, each one filled with warmth and affection. you couldn’t help but laugh as his lips moved from your forehead to your cheeks, down to your nose, and then back up again.
“okay, okay!” you giggled, trying to squirm away, but jake held you close, not letting you escape his affectionate assault.
“you’re going to regret teasing me all day,” he joked between kisses, his voice soft and playful. “especially when we already have such great bed chemistry.”
you froze for a second, his words making your cheeks heat up, but jake just grinned, clearly pleased with himself. “see? told you i didn’t need sabrina to know that.”
you couldn’t help but burst out laughing, leaning into his embrace as he continued to shower you with kisses. “you’re such a dork, you know that?”
“and you love it,” jake replied, finally pulling back just enough to look into your eyes, his expression softening. “seriously, though, you know you’re the only one for me, right?”
you nodded, your heart swelling with affection. “of course, i do. i was just having fun. you know i trust you.”
jake smiled, his puppy-like energy shifting to something more tender. “i know. and i love that we can joke like this. you make every day better, you know that?”
you smiled back, leaning in to press a soft kiss to his lips. “i could say the same about you, jake.”
he pulled you closer, his arms tightening around you as he rested his forehead against yours. “then i guess we’re perfect for each other.”
and as you lay there in each other’s arms, you knew that no rumor, no playful teasing, could ever come between the love you shared.

ONE / Twenty - Big City Girl
So, this is it, they’re leaving.
Today is the day I haven’t been looking forward to at all. But well, you know what they say. “Even the best journeys end, but a new one is right around the coroner”. But what if I don’t want to know that corner. What if I won't make it alone? I know I am thinking way too much about something that hasn’t even happened yet but, well, overthinking I guess. When I got up I noticed Jesse still sleeping next to me. Usually they are a morning person but once they consume alcohol all they really do is just sleep in way too long. Lucia already got up, but not only that, she also made her “bed” and cleaned up after her. The only trace from her in my room is that massive boa and the sparkling outfit she wore yesterday.
I’ve reached for my phone, nothing. I glanced at Jesse and thought about waking them up but, I want to give them some rest. I looked at their phone which displate an alarm to go off in half an hour anyway. At least that way we still have some time before they leave at one pm. I grabbed my jumper and walked down the hallway into Sarah's kitchen. No sight of Sarah, only Lucia standing there in what I think are Jesse's clothes. To be exact, it was an olive green hooded jumper and some oversized pale shorts. I do have to say, those colours work well with her orange kind of copper coloured hair. Speaking of, her hair was in the biggest messy bun I’ve ever seen. She has no makeup on, besides some lipstick but I think she just forgot to remove it last night. I walked into the kitchen and swung up the counter while Lucia was randomly walking around in circles.
James: Mornin. Lucia: Hi, hope you don’t mind me taking your clothes, won't you? James: Heh, those aren't mine so feel free to. Lucia: Well I assume Jesse wouldn’t mind either. James: Fair. Have you seen Sarah? Lucia: Oh yeah, she's right over the street at an Ambers. Think she wanted to get some buns for breaki. James: What’s an Ambers? And breaki? Really? How can you be that smart and hot and then say breaki instead of breakfast, like normal people. Lucia: Ugh normal people suck James. Hand me the shades, my eyes are burning.
Lucia: Thanks. Oh yeah Ambers. I am not sure but for what I know it's a mix between a baker's stop, a post office and some say even some mafia stuff. James: Mafia stuff? Like what? Lucia: I don’t know. The only thing I know is that they are constantly opening new shops throughout the UK. James: Perks of a big city girl? Lucia: Fuck off. Coffee? James: Yeah, thanks.
Couple of minutes later I got a call from Sarah, explaining that she is randomly having brunch with her friends over at the elderly place. Guess it’s just us then. Lucia and I were robbing the kitchen for anything nice to eat for breakfast. She decided to make some grilled cheese while I prepared the rest of the food. Only moments after the first grilled cheese was ready, I noticed Jesse standing in the door without any clothes besides their shorts. They grabbed a glass of orange juice I just filled myself, walked into the kitchen, grabbed the grilled cheese off of Lucias hand and leaned themself into Sarah’s armchair.
James: Good morning to you too my belove- Jesse: five minutes, okay? Thank you.
Lucia and I just stared at Jesse devouring the grilled cheese within seconds. Good to know that at least that hasn’t changed. Don’t worry, that’s not how Jesse is usually. This is just the hungover version.
Lucia: Bro how much did you drink? I thought we had equally? Jesse: Honestly, I don’t know. I haven’t…whatever… but I had shots. That’s all I know. Lucia: Wait so whenever you got a new round you also got a shot Jesse: I’m fine. James: Yeah I can see that. Jesse: Why are you wearing my jumper? Lucia: Because? Jesse: Ugh fine. James: Come on big guy. Let#s have some breakfast before Lucia has to go. Lucia: Honestly, I already got a call. A friend of mine is going to pick me up soon. I'm just gonna change and have some food for the way. James: Oh okay. Jesse: So I can have my jumper back now? Lucia: Sure!
Lucia stopped in the middle of the room, getting off the jumper, and threw it right into Jesse's face. Couple of seconds later the pants were there too. She flipped us off in a joking way and went up stairs. Still can’t believe she’s this year's best at medical studies in University but well. Jesse grabbed the clothes off of them and threw them onto the chair before checking out what’s there for breakfast, when they noticed, it wasn’t much. They started making some eggs and toast for us served with something I have yet to find out.
Meanwhile, Lucia was down again, fully dressed. She stood in the doorframe, wearing the outfit from yesterday and been sucking on a lollipop, her shades down since she’s hungover.
Lucia: Alright bitches, I got to move now. It has been a pleasure meeting you Jesse. And I had an awesome night. Get home safe kiddo.
She glanced towards Jesse and both of us got up to give her a hug. Seconds later she stepped outside into an Uber she called.
Jesse: *mumbles* She’s fun. James: Lucia? Yeah. Told you, she is just like you. Jesse: You were right with that. And hey, even though I ruined your surprise for me myself, it was still a surprise to get to know her. James: I’m just happy you two went along that well. Jesse: Haha.
We finished up breakfast and cleaned before heading upstairs. Ten in the morning. Jesse's train is about to go in two hours. Great. That is barely any time. Good thing I already got a gift for them. We just talked for a bit before getting everything ready. Unlike me, Jesse is rather chill when it comes to timing. They are relatively fast so that works really well in their favour. Both of us got ready and a couple of seconds later Jesse and I were on our way to the train station. We’ve decided to take the bike, meaning Jesse threw all their stuff on the bike and seated themself on the back while I was driving the bike. It’s fun since, well, that’s what we used to do back in the days when they still lived in Dover with me. About twenty minutes later we finally arrived at the train station.
James: What platform do you need to be? Jesse: Uhm, I think it’s four…yeah four James: alright
Both of us waited for the train to Windsor.
James: So…this is really it isn't it? Jesse: Oh my god James please don’t turn this into a breakup. James: It’s just, I missed you so much. The last days have been the best I had. All thanks to you. Jesse: It’s not thanks to me, it’s thanks to you. You showed yourself that you were able to accomplish all of that. Trust me. This place is doing you well. James: Well… Jesse: No, take it. James: Thanks. Oh I got this for you. Jesse: You didn’t need to give me anything, thanks. James: Please, and open it at home okay? Jesse: Sure bud. Oh, it looks like my train here. James: So…goodbye I guess? Jesse: It really is.
Both of us hugged each other really tight before letting Jesse go off into the train back home. I cried, Of course I did. This is as painful as a breakup. It always does when they leave me. I assume I never really got over the first time. It haunts me.
I stepped outside the train station and got on my bike, time for a hike.

Burn For Me - Chapter 10a

Conner Carmichael
It had been a week since I told off Cyrus.
It was early in the morning as I noticed the tension between Asher and Constance was thicker than normal.
I guess they must have had a serious battle yesterday.
We sat at the table eating breakfast like normal when Tammy came barging in.
"Alright maggots, it's time for a pop quiz. I want your scrawny butts outside, in five minutes," she went to leave but before she could turn the corner she looked at us both in the eyes.
"Better eat fast," she giggled and skipped out like she always did. Constance and I both rolled out eyes and continued eating.
Once outside I saw Tamitha standing next to Cyrus, whose hands were behind his back as he stood in a parade rest.
"Alright, one of you thinks that it's time to get the merry band back together so today we're sending you through a training coarse..." he trailed off and turned at once with Tammy and walked off into the woods.
Constance and I looked at each other shrugging as we followed behind them.
It took almost an hour to get to where ever it is we were going.
The moment we were close a familiar scent rushed at me and I snapped my head from talking with Asher and Constance and focused in front of me.
I saw a rickety old mansion of a house come into view... I shot forward only to have Cyrus snatch me back.
I uttered a deadly warning as I growled at him... I could feel my canines descending.
"Hold it lover boy," he snapped pushing me back into the group.
"This is going to be a true test of what you've learned. I'm letting Teagan join the group today, only because Connor thinks its best. If anyone dies today you can blame him," he added, smiling.
"Wait. You're setting Connor,s crazy mate loose? How am I supposed to focus, when I'm too busy worrying about burning to death?" Constance said, in outrage.
"I don't know, take that up with Connor," Cyrus said, before walking towards the house.
"Good luck with that."
"Way to go, dumb ass," Constance retorted.
She pushed against my shoulder but I gave her no mind, as I took off in the direction of my mate.
As i passed the foliage, I came to stop right in front of Teagan.
He stood silent and watchful... his head slowly turned towards me.
He was in the regulated gear, as the rest of us and I had to say he pulled it off so well... I think I was drooling a bit.
"Alright. The goal of today, is to get the hostages out safely," Tammy's voice distracted me from further checking out my mate.
"There are of course obstacles you will run into. You must find a way to get through them by using your intelligence, your strength, agility and of course your stealth.  You are being timed," Cyrus pulled out a stop watch at her words.
"You have twenty minutes... Go."
Cyrus hit the button and we all rushed in leaving Asher behind with our trainers.
I stayed by Teagan's side, as Constance opened the front door quietly.
"Where do you think the hostages are?" Constance asked me as she surveyed the house.
I lifted my nose, seeing if anyone was close.
"The basement," the monotone I heard come out of my mate's mouth, caused me to turn in surprise.
Constance straightened from her defensive stance, to look over at him or more like, to stare at him with a frown.
"R-right," she said and went back to the job at hand.
We made our way further in the house, on alert, watching everything.
The only thing I heard were our boots echoing softly against the wood floors... scratch that, I heard Constance and my footsteps, not Teagan's.
It was like he wasn't even there, I actually had to look to see if he was still next to me.
The moment we turned the corner something jumped out at me and I instantly went in attack mode.
Our bodies collided as we scrapped on the floor.
Whoever it was had me in a tight hold.
"Go. Get the hostages," I told my team as I fought to get free.
I heard the sound of running as they left.
I got my arm free and jammed it into my opponents chin causing him to loosen his hold and I broke away.
I turned waiting for another attack but my attacker chose to stay on the floor.
I guess that mean he was staying out of the game.
That was when I noticed Teagan standing off the side with his hands balled up in fists.
He held a strained expression as he glared at the guy on the floor.
"Why didn't you go with Constance," I asked slowly approaching him.
He was giving off such a deadly aura everything in me told me to tread lightly.
"I don't know?" he growled through clenched teeth.
"Okay, well let's go catch up with her."
I walked past him and heard him follow me.
I think I pasted about five groaning men on the way down to the basement.
Geez, Constance sure can kick some ass.
We rushed down the stairs to find Constance free five hostages in white t-shirts that said... "Help."
"I got them, let's go," she told us.
Rounding up the group together we tried to go back the same way quietly but that was when all hell broke loose.
A cluster of about six men in black broke out of nowhere and attached us.
Constance and I stepped forward as Teagan stepped back maneuvering the group of hostages back.
I suppressed the smiled on my lips at his quickly thinking.
He was the most dangerous of all of us, it was better if he got the group out.
Two men came at me then and I welcomed it.
All my training from the last three months came rushing to me and my body moved on auto piolet.
I jammed my shoulder into the midsection on one man flipping him over my shoulder continuing forwards to grab the other man's arm with my hand as he went to punch me.
I spun around inward, twisting his arm as I went, the force lifting him off the floor and flipping him to the ground.
I went to the next guy elbowing him in the ribs and kicking his legs out from under him.
I glanced over at Constance who had already dispatched her lot.
"Go," she said rushing us out of the house.
Someone came out next to me with a gun and I instantly brought my wrist up into theirs and knocking it out of their hands as I kicked them in the stomach sending them backwards in the wall.
The moment we got outside Cyrus hit the stop watch.
"How did we do?" Constance asked gasping for breath.
I was bent over with my hands braced on my knees as I tried to get as much oxygen in my lungs as possible.
I glanced to see Cyrus and Tamitha's bewildered faces.
"Well?" I asked exasperated.
"Ten Minutes," Cyrus said dumbfounded.
A grin spread on my lips as Constance and I high fived.
"Yeah," Constance cheered.
"Let's do that shit again," she exclaimed, super pumped.
I turned to my mate with the same grin but he held no expression as he met my elated gaze with is empty one.
Frowning, I turned away from him and focused on our mentors.
"That's the fastest time I've ever seen from such a small group," Tamitha said staring at us in awe.
"Well it would have been a lot faster if my powers were working," Constance sassed.
"Yes, well... we have a member nullifying your powers nearby," Cyrus's
eyes skipped towards Teagan so quickly I almost missed it.
"Why?" she asked confused.
"We have our reasons," Cyrus said, mysteriously.
"Let's get back now. I think you three earned a day off but now that we've seen your potential, we're upping the stakes from now on," Tammy giggled skipping off.
Cyrus smiled and shook his head walking beside her.
And I just noticed the wolf trotting beside him then.
Again we made the long tread back to the house.
Half way there I noticed that both Teagan and I were alone as the others were farther up then us through the trees.
The silence between us was awkward and tense as I watched him become aware our situation.
"So how have you been lately."
I didn't know what else to say.
I looked over at him when he didn't say anything and saw the frown etched in his brow as he stared at the ground.
Suddenly a horde of emotions rushed through me and I growled.
"You know if you'd just let me in I could probably help you," I exclaimed in frustration.
I was fed up with him ignoring me all the time.
All I've ever wanted from him is to talk with me.
I understand he's been through something terrible but was it too much to ask for a little acknowledgment?
He was my MATE for fuck's sake.
He stopped then causing me to do the same.
We stood facing each other.
I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks in embarrassment at how childish I just sounded.
"I don't know what you expect from me?" he suddenly said in his raspy voice and I frowned in confusion.
"Expect from you?" I echoed.
There was a silence.
"You think you want to know me because of this mate thing you all are so fond of but I am far from someone you want to know."
His empty eyes stared me down and I felt a chill shiver up my spine.
"Well that's not fair is it? I want to get to know you, no matter what you have to tell me. You're my mate, this is what we do, we accept our other halves as who they are," I said hopefully getting through to him.
He gave a cruel smile.
"Well I'm the exception, trust me," he said and walked past me continuing back towards the houses direction.
"Teagan," I called after him but he kept going and grabbed his arm.
He sprang back like I had burned him, crouched low and growled at me and I froze.
"You don't know me. You have no idea who I am and what I've done."
"Well, tell me. Let me in and tell me. That's what I'm here for. What I was born for," I stressed.
I stepped closer to him and he narrowed his eyes at me, in warning.
"Stop," he growled.
"Just leave me alone."
"Tell me what to do. I want to help, Teagan."
"You weren't there. You can't help me," he screamed suddenly, as a blast of fire came out of nowhere, crashing into my chest and sending me flying back, a few feet to land on my back.
I gasped trying to get my breath back, as I reached up to my chest, to feel the singed hole in my shirt but no burns, on my exposed skin.
I glanced up at Teagan with wide eyes.
He stood frozen as he watched me with I'm sure the same matching wide eyed stare as mine.
"They should have just kept me chained," he said backing away slowly, his shocked expression morphing back into the expressionless masked he always wore, his eyes dying right before mine.
"I asked for them... to take those... shackles off of you. You deserved to be free," I gasped, dazed and in shock at his abrupt attack, unable to mentally understand what just happened.
"Well... I'm free now but that wasn't a very good idea. Was it?"  he breathed, his voice shrouded in ominous foreshadowing.
And with that, I watched him walk away from me, until I could no longer see him.

Shifting Sans Chapter 7 "Good Morning, or Is It?"
~
Chapter 1 - Chapter 6 - Chapter 8
~
I woke up to a low voice saying something but I didn't catch what. My cheek was pressed against something solid but warm, laying on my front. One arm was curled up into my side, the other dangling. A hand was resting between my shoulders.
Hand?
And the solid thing I'm laying on is breathing.
Ah, I must be laying on Pap's chest, maybe we fell asleep watching movies or something. Wouldn't be the first time. Movies would also explain the weird thoughts nibbling at the back of my mind. Another hand began gently petting my head and I was almost lulled back to sleep. Then it started shaking my shoulder gently.
"it's time to wake up, brother."
"Five more minutes, bro..." I groaned, curling in on myself.
The surface under my cheek chuckled. That wasn't my brother's laugh.
I stiffened, immediately wide awake as my head shot up, staring into a too-familiar face. I blinked a few times as memories of last night slowly filtered into my mind. Right, he is my brother, just not that one. My new brother. He adopted me. Cuz he's me. But not me. Alternate universe shenanigans.
And I was currently lying on top of him.
Clearing my throat of awkwardness, I backed up with a blush, the blanket sliding off my back as I tried to not look like I was scrambling to get off of him. He sat up too, still bemused. Which I could feel. On my soul. Through my wings. That's right, I have wings now.
That whole crazy mess wasn't just a dream.
"'mornin' sleepy head," Sans said with a raised eyebrow.
"'morning," I replied, rubbing one eye. "Did you uh, sleep well?" With me on top of you?
"well enough," he smiled.
"Breakfast is gonna get cold if you don't hurry up," a voice called from behind me and I stiffened. Someone else is here and I didn't even notice. I'm usually more aware of my surroundings. Now that I was actually paying attention I could hear cooking sounds behind me and looked back to find the kitchen area with-
The Human.
Holding a knife.
Panic coursed through me as I tasted dust in the air, felt the swish of a blade too close to my head, saw their empty smile as they struck down monster after monster after monster as they laughed and laughed-
I gasped, snatched at the hand that touched my shoulder, summoned bones around me, on my feet, ready to dodge, ready to fight-
"eeeaaasy bro, easy, i didn't mean to startle you," I could feel his shock, see his wide sockets, his free hand held up placatingly. Right, this was Sans, my big brother, meaning this couldn't be that human, I'm safe here, right? "i guess i forgot to mention the kid was human, huh."
"That..." I swallowed, releasing his wrist. "That woulda been nice to know." Figures, my life can't be that easy, can it. "S-sorry I... I'm just... jumpy, I guess." My bones were still summoned; better take care of those. Dissipate, darn you. "Nothing against you, kiddo, but I haven't had much positive exposure to humans and wasn't expecting to see one with a knife this morning."
Nonplused, they looked at the knife in their hands.
"It's a butter knife," they deadpanned.
"Still registers as a knife."
They raised an eyebrow.
"frisk, please," Sans urged quietly.
With a sigh, they rolled their eyes and put down the knife on the counter, holding up their now empty hands at shoulder height. I could distantly feel their annoyance over the table between us and I was still having trouble controlling my breathing but seeing them unarmed did help as I finally managed to dissipate the last of my bone attacks. I sat back down on the couch; one foot on the floor while the other knee was now held against my chest as I felt my wings curling around my shoulders slightly. I was barely resisting the urge to fold into the fetal position.
“I’m sorry,” I said again, looking away, acidic shame bubbling up in my chest. “You just… reminded me of someone. For a minute. It wasn’t a happy memory.”
“I gathered,” they said, though they seemed more interested than annoyed now.
“we'll have plenty of time to discuss hard topics after breakfast,” Sans stood, interrupting whatever they were going to say next. “come on, it’s time for a formal introduction.”
Sans offered me a hand with a smile.
I hesitated, I don’t deserve his kindness, especially after an outburst like that, but it would be rude to refuse, right? Besides, I owed it to him to make things work between me, him, and Frisk. I am the stray here.
I took his hand and let him pull me up to my feet, leading me to the table between the living room and kitchen, pulling out one of four chairs for me as he dropped my hand. I sat, as bidden, and Sans set about helping the human get everything on the table. Three plates were set and Sans pulled out a chair opposite me for the human before sitting down himself.
"so," Sans started. "before we dig in, thank you frisk, for making breakfast while I was taking care of serif." The human gave a grin and a thumbs up. "and serif, this is frisk; they fell into the underground about a week ago and i was assigned as their guardian. frisk, this is serif; i don't know much about him yet either but i picked him up from pap's last night. you remember what i told you about The Labs, right?" Frisk nodded. "serif is a clone of me that was in hiding for a while but now he's here and i've decided to take him in as my little brother so he'll be your uncle from now on. that said, let's dig in!"
Frisk needed no further encouragement and began greedily eating their breakfast while Sans and I started at a more reasonable pace. There was fried eggplant yolks, sliced yham, and toast with butter and crab apple jam. At least the odd underground food was more or less how I remembered it. It was pretty good, too, considering a human made it; humans can't use magic so the magic in the ingredients themselves must have been enough to keep it as monster food. Then again, humans are more common here so maybe they found a way around that.
"you did a good job making monster food for the first time, frisk," Sans praised. "you learn fast."
Frisk grinned happily, unaware of the egg on their face. I hid my snicker by clearing my throat, which also got their attention so I subtly swiped at my own cheek, mirroring where the egg was on theirs. They stuck their tongue out at me before wiping the offending food off with the back of their hand and I grinned, sticking my own blue tongue out at them. They feigned offense but I could feel their delight.
Sans pretended to not notice.
Breakfast was finished without much chatter, we were too busy eating. Frisk finished first, surprising no one with how fast they scarfed everything down, and began clearing the table. Sans was done next, and I finished off whatever food was left over; I didn't usually need to eat this much but I guess I was still recovering from universe hopping and nearly dying.
"Last one to eat washes dishes!" Frisk declared, heading for the couch.
"Fair enough," I replied as I got up with my plate.
"i'll dry and put them away," Sans offered, grabbing a towel. "so, I have to go to the capitol later to finish some paperwork for frisk and start some for serif, but i'll admit i'm insanely curious about you, serif. you said you were cloned in The Labs, right?"
"Right, it's... more complicated than that," I said, loud enough for Frisk to hear from the couch, glad to have something to do with my hands. Do I go with my cover story with the people I'm going to be living with or just bite the bullet and tell the truth? The best kept secrets are the ones not shared but they could help cover for me, too. And what if the resets are still happening? Do I tip my hand this early?
Maybe I'll just skip the reset bit.
"Ok, this is going to sound crazy but," I braced myself. "I'm actually Sans from an alternate universe. I don't know exactly how I got here but don't think there's any way back. That's why I said I'm your clone; it technically isn't a lie, I'm just not from The Labs. However, my universe did have its own version of The Labs so I still had to deal with that. It was just a much smaller scale than it was here, with only me and my brother as test subjects."
"you had a brother, too, then?" Sans asked. "i had one, a very long time ago, but he wasn't a boss monster so i outlived him."
"Are you a Boss Monster?" I asked. Oh right, so is Undyne; that works differently here.
"yes, but we can get into my past more later," Sans said, waving away his pain and discomfort. "i want to hear more about you! i take it you're not a boss monster, since you seemed surprised that I was?"
"Yeah," I nodded. "Skeleton monsters tend to be on the strong side of average but nothing like a Boss Monster." I can ask more about how that works later, along with Sans' history. "At least, where I come from anyways."
"So aside from Sans being older than you, by, like, a lot," Frisk piped in. "What other kinds of differences are there?"
"Well, I've noticed a lot of differences so far, but a lot is still kinda the same too," I shrugged. "Like, everyone I used to know is still around, in one form or another, but they're all jumbled up, doing different things than I remember; like Alphys being the current Royal Scientist instead of Toriel, or how Asgore and Undyne have swapped places. Papyrus is a good friend to you here but he's supposed to be my brother."
And I'm never going to see him again.
A sob caught in my throat as I dropped the fork I'd been working on. I'd seen him die, sure, and had to live without him for a while after that, but he always came back the next reset, like nothing ever happened. There's no coming back from this, though, no second chance, there's more than just time and space keeping us apart. He's deader than dead to me now, he may as well be-
Erased.
