Hi random SpookyMonth rant incoming but i HATE the way Dexter's character is seen/portrayed and mischaracterized in the SM fandom (I've mainly seen it on TikTok), but the fandom waters down his complexity to "silly smol bean autism murder boi" and that's just... no.
Dexter is canonically a mentally ill murderer with a LITERAL ADDICTION to killing and will spiral if he doesn't kill something within a certain period of time (as seen in episode 4 Deadly Smiles where he posessed the kids' Happy Fella doll and tries to kill them)
He CANONICALLY became an exterminator so he would have a constant supply of creatures to kill and yet the fandom just waters him down to a "silly innocent twink" and it pisses me the fuck off.
Whenever a fandom gets ahold of a complex character, especially a mentally ill or "crazy" one, that just so happens to be a bit silly or act quirky, the character's lore immediately gets erased or watered down in fanon to where they're just some playful innocent guy who just so happens to kill people. It happened in the Creepypasta fandom too, and they're also doing it to Bob in a way but it's to a much worse degree with Dexter.
Sr. Pelo describes Dexter's character as just a bad person trying not to get worse, and even calls him a "sicko"
No, he wouldn't cry over a movie, no he wouldn't cling to Bob's or whoever the hell you ship him with's shoulder 24/7 and whine whenever he's alone. (These are all real things I've seen said about him)
(Speaking of him being shipped with Bob, they canonically dislike eachother lol)
And what really bothers me about these types of fanon, is yeah, they do it with almost every character in one way or another, but it's always the ones that are MEANT to be bad people, to be almost, or completely unredeemable. They have their complexity stripped away from them.
Take "ticci" Toby Rogers, he was abused by his father, he was bullied in school for having Tourette's Syndrome, watched his sister, the only person who cared for him (other than his mom) die in a car crash, then spiraled and killed his dad. The Creepypasta fandom waters him down to some innocent uwu waffle loving boy, and that's just... taking away from the entire story.
They're doing the same with Dexter too, like, actually look into the lore, you don't even have to do much reading between the lines when watching the show to see that he's literally DERANGED.
What these fanons are doing is just taking the character's name, design, (sometimes they even change how they look beyond recognition too :/) and just making a new character with it. It makes me so mad.
I could apply this to a gazillion different fanbases, like how I used Creepypasta as an example, but Spooky Month is my hyperfixation and I hold CANON Dexter very near and dear to me because he's a comfort character for me and I can see myself in him and it just INFURIATES ME seeing how they misportray him, I go looking for fanarts/fanfics/any fanworks of him and it's all just mischaracterized and it makes me physically cringe every time i see it. I’ve been seeing this thing around about rating pjo ships so i thought I’d give it a go 🤠 no personal offense if i don’t give your ship a high rating, i’m pretty particular except for when I’m not
Percabeth - 9/10. love them loads, but could have gone without the judo flip + other odd behaviors that are only seen as “cute” because the sexes are flipped, otherwise they’re great
Jercy - 1/10. i can see potential i guess but also there’s just a lot of better options for both of these characters imo, plus i see them as bros
Valgrace - 10/10, to storm or fire the world must fall, best friends to lovers, no notes
Solangelo - 2/10. i can see…the potential. their “significant annoyance” scene gave me the warm fuzzies as a 14 year old looking for rep. but oh my god how they’re written in canon sometimes is just so bad, it ruins fanon for me as well. not to mention the one-dimensional-ization done in order to amplify the “grumpy x sunshine !!!1!” trope. however i will say Some solangelo fans understand that they should Both be freaks (and in that AU it’s a respectable 8/10 from me) and the ship has fantastic fan artists
Shelper - 2/10. no hate i’m just bored…like who is shel?? tell me one thing about her personality. does she get any dialogue?? richard??
Jasper/Jiper - 1/10 the fake memories were cute but the inside of pipers head did not pass the Bechdel test. would love to see them as platonic soulmate roommates though
Jeyna - 1/10 the devotion is admirable but yk. can relate being aroace and latching on to some dude lmao
Theyna - 4/10. not my cup of tea but in a world where either they aren’t hunters or it’s an interpretation where the hunters can be lesbians…it’s a good ship. haven’t really seen much for them but I’m open to it. might prefer them as a platonic buddy cop duo though
Pernico - 4/10 i see them as annoying cousins but i respect the angst potential of unrequited love. i don’t think the ship as endgame would be good for either of the characters. however, again, really good fan artists
Jasico - 10/10 the drinking out of the chalice scene was hot don’t look at me. really good fan artists etc. i should write more with them
Valdangelo - 10/10, yk how i feel about pushing my blorbos together and making them kiss lol. massively underrated, read ceaseless eve, etc
Pipabeth - 7.5/10 i like percabeth more but it’s my favorite piper ship. I haven’t seen much content with them but i’ve liked what i have seen. I might make some stuff with them
Rachbeth - 2/10, the potential is there i guess but i see them as best friends
Perchel - 8.5/10 i guess i’m in the minority but what makes the pjo love triangle so compelling compared to other YA love triangles is that Both of the ships are really good. idk what to tell you they go well together
Lukercy - 6/10 i see the potential but if you’re going for dark fic vibes i think lukabeth is better
Lukabeth - 9/10 the dark fic potential has me chewing the furniture. wouldn’t ship them as like a fluffy endgame but that’s not the point
Frazel - 0/10 richard please let two people of the opposite sex be friends
Caleo - -100000000/10 nothing could be a better crafted anti-caleo fic than canon itself

'Tale of Winter and Spring' another goyuu arranged marriage fic that might just become a fave despite some reservations of mine!!! Let me explain!!! (Rec Review and thoughts)
Tumblr media
This review was so sweetly requested by the actual author and lovely mutual of mine @star2112 (really love their name for some reason). So with that context and their permission I'll be going a bit more in depth, and letting them know where I feel they could improve upon. I do keep in mind that many ao3 authors aren't from the pro writing background so I'll be super gentle.
But before we get to that I will give you a quick summary and listing out the fic's strong points (and there are a lot (✿ ♡‿♡)
CW for review and the story itself: there will be spoilers in this rev so if you want to read it before hearing my thoughts go ahead and follow the link in the title. The story involves mpreg, omegaverse and dub con.)
Tale of Winter and Spring is set in historical Japan as all good fics should be, where Yuuji is given away to Gojo by his older brother Sukuna. Thing is Yuuji is in love with next heir of the Zenin clan, Megumi and he's very, very, very unhappy with what's happening. Nevertheless he goes through it all with some very un-Yuuji like gloom )don't worry, we'll get to that). Its an ongoing fic so we don't know the end or which direction the plot itself is taking but for now there's a whole lot of intrigue and hints of Geto coming into the picture to ruin (or maybe not ruin) everything happening.
There's a handful of things that made this story a bit challenging to read but one of the many things I have to give props to is the development of the FushIta relationship side of Yuuji's story. I don't hate FushIta but it's one of many jjk ships that makes me grit my my teeth when it's not a side story in a goyuu ntr fic. So reading the development of their bond here… actually made me kick my feet a bit, is the author a FushIta shipper in disguise??? We'll never know ig ¯_(ツ)_/¯
There's the flashback scene where they're talking about books they read and after some banter Yuuji's like,
"hey megumi… in the future, let's go North, and see if those demons are real or not."
And I felt that, especially since Yuuji does end up going North (Gojo's Clan location if I remember correctly) but Megumi isn't there with him and it's much colder and lonely for him since he can't relate to Satoru at all.
Genuinely almost sobbed ಥ‿ಥ
Another thing I did enjoy was Sukuna's backstory and part of me really wanted more of it and him. It's said he got his hands dirty but I'd love to know what exactly this entails as it would really add more depth to the evilness of his character which is mostly told but not shown. It's easy to so say oh this character does evil things and imply that constantly but harder to display those evil things and show them doing the tragedies that solidify them in the reader's mind like 'yeah, this dude is the worst'. Example, Sukuna throughout the entirety of jjk lollll.
And there was an opportunity for the story to show one of such things which I'll get to in the critique part of this review.
I also really love the characterization which is very important you're making and alternate world. You don't always have to put characters in roles they'll fit but one thing I do like is when a they reflect that role with their canon personalities. And I know someone's already going "well fanon doesn't care about canon" which is fine and true but realistically many fanfic readers, myself included aren't into ooc content. What counts as ooc does vary from person to person tho, especially bc different people interpret characters differently.
Despite the various interpretations there is a common way a character is viewed and enjoyed, which is why, despite how much I enjoyed reading, there was something about Yuuji that constantly…called out to me.
I'm getting into the critique section now to talk about that. Where the writing shines in dialogue and interesting world building, it's kind of falls back in consistency.
Somewhere at the start, in the wedding scene, Utahime says they all have high expectations of Yuuji putting Gojo in his place with kind of indicates a firey kind of attitude but up until this point Yuuji has being quiet and avoidant and kind of continues to be until some of the later chapters. So it's weird she puts this responsibility on him when his character hasn't shown any signs of it. It's not one of more glaring instances but it's one that precedes a few others.
There's another part where Yuuji apologizes for speaking angrily, but Gojo says he doesn't have to because he knows he's the problem. Yuuji's internal thoughts proceed to view that as his apology being discarded which don't exactly make sense to me and ends up feeling like he's looking for reasons to be nitpicky at this point.
Character building isn't a huge problem but it's always the little things that manage add to the overall picture. There's a scene where Sukuna wants to take Yuuji to the Zenin clan and Wasuke doesn't want him to bc everyone thinks Sukuna wants to sell him off. Thing is Sukuna says he's not depraved enough to use an omega child like that but in my opinion it would have done his story and Yuuji's a greater service for him openly consider it and hold that over Yuuji's head for good behavior. He's evil, even if he'd actually never do it, evil people say evil shit.
With all this talk about characters it's time I finally expand on what really got to me and that would be Yuuji. My baby boy is literally all over the place. Yuuji canonically is a very social characters, eager to please and more ready than usual to give other's the benefit of a doubt. Here he's very quick to judge and overly guarded to me.
Now, I'm not saying has to overly friendly either but there's a balance that could struck with him not insulting or assuming things of Gojo constantly, and yeah the white haired bastard doesn't make it especially easy but one of Yuuji's admirable traits is his fortitude and patience with those around him.
Nevertheless, a part of me does think this was a stylistic choice to convey the disparity of Yuuji's behavior with his two love interests; Yuuji is only truly his best self with Megumi and the worst with Gojo. And understanding this, I was able to look past his behavior with the hope and interest of seeing both him and Gojo warm up to each other.
Also, did I mention it's still a mystery why Gojo asked for Yuuji's hand in marriage. Either that or it was mentioned that it's bc of his scent and I forgot (I've been through a lot this week forgive me (〒﹏〒)
My final critique is the writing structure and grammar. Grammar and writing are like 80% of a fic for me. If I don't vibe, no matter how interesting the concept I just might not read.
Thing is, I do vibe with Star2112's writing a lot, it simple yet beautiful in the way in which it conveys the emotions and moods of the story and characters. I enjoyed reading the scene where Yuuji freaks out cuz Gojo didn't spend the wedding night with him and now it may harm his reputation and Sukuna's. I enjoyed every FushIta interaction and I most definitely enjoyed when towards the ending of chapter 8, Yuuji allows Gojo to touch his belly and feel the baby while the Alpha spoke it (also Gojo wants to be a girl dad and that made me throw my phone across the room screaming cuz cuuuute (●♡∀♡)!!!!)
What I didn't enjoy was the structure of the sentences.
"Sentences work like this," Ren says. ✅
" Not like this, " They add. ❌
Figuring out how dialogue and quotations work are a big step for every author's writing journey, it's common not to know if you end with commas of full stops but for the most part, that doesn't really matter. Leave no spaces between the quoted sentence and the quotations marks and always start a new statement with a capital, doesn't matter if it was a continuation of what they were saying in a previous sentence.
Capital.
Grammar-wise, there were a lot of frequent errors but none to glaring and they could all be fixed with a more thorough read through. It can be pretty hard without a beta reader bestie but I believe you, there's so much talent for you not to give the best reading experience you're able to.
Overall, this is definitely a fic I would recommend to avid arranged marriage goyuu fans that love the DRAMA (and if you're like me who likes to read Megumi getting cucked, tho it's not exactly cheating here we'll manage ( ꈍᴗꈍ)💕
At the end of the day, a lot of this advice is partly objective, all authors are free to take what they feel they want to work on and leave the rest. Or leave it all because what matters about writing and fanfiction is that you enjoy what you do. Other's enjoying it is just a bonus/by product.
And to Star2112, you're doing so good, keep it up, I'm subbed and ready to see more, especially if I'll get to read goyuu raising their kid or kids, I'm a sucker for 'oop it's twins'. I'd also encourage you to read more books outside fanfic if you don't if you're still interested in dialogue and sentence structure. You have a strong voice and I think working on your weak points will really amplify that. I'm honored you came to me and hope I was able to help.
If anyone else wants to request, recommendations and reviews are kinda two different things. If you Recommend me a fic and I may or may not talk about it, depends. If you request I Review (for analysis and advice) a fic it has to be yours and you'll have to prove it to me. Depending on what you want I'll either write a post or just let you know my thoughts privately. DMs open so don't be shy.
Thanks for sticking to the end, go check out Star's work to get in on that action and happy Easter my precious freaks!!!
Ps: will edit this later, my brain is literally on fire, bye lovelies (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤

Thoughts on live action Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Not that anyone actually wants my take.
It's solidly in the middle. Not as horrible as that wrteched movie. Obviously, it's not as amazing as the original series. It was never going to be. It was NEVER going to be as good as the original. You can't top perfection. I don't hate it. I don't love it. Below the cut (for spoiler free...ness) are my likes and dislikes. Probably not all of them. I'm sure I forgot some.
LIKES
Iroh. His characterization was good and I like that it kind of addressed the fact that he's a war criminal. Our beloved war criminal.
Azula. I've always adored her and was worried they'd wreck her. Obviously, I want to see her blue fire, but she was clever and badass, and we saw her insecurities. And went she lightning bent? * chef's kiss * That's my girl. Also, glad they didn't have her grinning like a sociopath when Zuko got burned.
Kyoshi. They leaned HEAVILY into the fanon interpretation of her and she wouldn't have yelled at Aang but she was badass.
Aesthetics. The show looked good.
Jun and Nyla. Perfect
The line "You are the fire in which her iron was forged." Fantastic.
Yue. Less wishy washy, more proactive. Also, a waterbender who sometimes chills in the spirit world. Good for her. And no love triangle.
Big fish fuckin things up!
Sokka. The actor did a good job.
"Kick his ass." Sokka being fully supportive of Katara
Katara bringing all the women to the battle.
Having Zuko's crew be the division he got his scar for was a cool touch.
DISLIKES
Zuko fought back against Ozai in the Agni Kai? I think NOT. That's the whole point. Ozai attacked a CHILD who refused to fight back. That shows the depth of his evil. Why erase that?
Did Aang just...leave my boi Hei Bai raging and in pain?
Aang never learned waterbending!? Didn't even try? Why???
Where was Katara's rage? Yes she's hopeful and motherly and in touch with her feelings but she's also fucking angry and she's right and it's great. But cutting that, they made her one dimensional.
Cutting Sokka's character growth, wherein he learns to respect women. "It was problematic." Yeah, dude, that's the point. He was in the wrong and had to learn that.
Suki. They made her...less than somehow. Less capable. Less strong. Ogling Sokka? Unnecessary. Saying he brought the world to her? Lame.
BUMI. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT? Bumi was so BITTER and CRUEL to Aang! It made me so mad. Yes, he's unhinged but he's also a playful genius
Aang was kind of wooden. They cut his joyful, playful nature. But that's at Aang'd core. Why cut that? And he sides with PAKKU when he says Katara can't fight? EXCUSE YOU? No. He calls him Master Poophead and teaches her himself.
Cramming all the spirit world stuff into one episode was weird. Koh, Wong Shi Tong, and Hai Bei all in one go? And having Gyatso there only to have him leave? What was that? And they stripped Koh of his purpose, telling Aang who Tui and La were.
What was Mai's wig? Good Lord. The wigs in general were meh, but hers was particularly heinous.
Kyoshi and Kuruk yelling at Aang. Too much yelling.

Tumblr media
(I have been agonizing over this for literally a month so I have decided to just post it how it is because I'm never going to be satisfied with it anyways.)
Port Mafia executive, former leader of The Sheep, one half of the fearsome Double Black, loyal to a fault, wants a puppy. Gotta love this dude. I'm always excited to do any meta on him because there's so much to his character. Now, much of the fanon interpretation of Chuuya differs from my perception of canon, so if you're a bit surprised by any of the rankings, read on to find out why!
Please do keep in mind: a lot of the info we have for Chuuya does not come from the main manga but from his backstory novels Fifteen and Stormbringer. While these two books have made him an incredibly fleshed-out character, we don't have much info on him at 22 years old except in brief scenes in the manga, omake, and official non-canon content like wan, mayoi and some character q&as. The good thing is that HEXACO traits tend to be relatively consistent over time (and Chuuya himself doesn't seem to have changed too much) so I don't think this will be a major issue.
Here's how I'm doing my analyses and extra HEXACO info: I Like to Write Things — Ok so since I have one note on this, that was... (tumblr.com)
*Note: I tend to be reluctant to give extreme scores unless I really can't find much opposing evidence. As such, most of my scores tend to be 2s, 3s, or 4s.
**Note: Since these are scores that require me to pick a clear ranking, it's difficult to be quite as nuanced in my discussions as I prefer to be. These are intended to be general trends and there will likely always be exceptions - if you don't agree, that's fine, and it's probably just due to differences in subjective interpretation. However, if I've referenced something incorrectly, feel free to notify me; just be polite please!
***Final note: This is a long post! I go through 24 subtraits! You have been warned!
Explanations under the cut:
---
Honesty-Humility (H)
Subtrait 1: Sincerity - A tendency to be genuine in interpersonal relations.
1 = Manipulative and rarely honest.
5 = Honest to a fault and almost never lies.
While Chuuya is capable of trickery, he doesn't do this very often - he's generally a very honest person who says what he means and doesn't beat around the bush. He faces his problems head on, and due to his immensely strong ability, he's likely never needed to do otherwise. Any lies he engages in are from my recollection either someone else's idea (Dazai, Mori) or to buy time (in Stormbringer). Even then, he doesn't really keep up an act for long - think of the confrontation with the ADA in the Guild arc where he pretty much outright states what the Mafia's game is. He's entirely nonchalant about it. He's not the kind of guy you send for subterfuge or deception.
Moreover, I cannot think of a time he used lies to get what he, personally, wanted. He's a very straightforward person. He has a sort of "I am who I am" kind of mentality and this shows in his words and actions.
Having said that, there are certain times he seems to blindside himself - as an example, the nature of his complicated dynamic with Dazai. While his irritation with him and negative feelings are genuine in part, there's a lot more nuance to it than that - worry, trust, begrudging understanding, unfortunate and unwilling recognition of self through the other, etc., but he boils it down to "hate". So, Chuuya does occasionally appear to tell himself convenient partial truths to avoid digging into things that make him uncomfortable. However, this honesty scale is about interpersonal honesty, and these instances are rare to my recollection, so he gets a very high score here.
Score = 5
Subtrait 2: Fairness - A tendency to avoid fraud and corruption for personal gain.
1 = Willing to cheat and steal to get what they want.
5 = Unwilling to take advantage of others.
This is tricky... he's in the mafia which is kind of all about this sort of thing, and he performs his job very well. Even so, Chuuya actually seems to have a pretty ingrained sense of fairness, to the point where I don't think it's really a conscious thing. He advances through the ranks of the mafia rapidly by... doing his job properly. He trades honesty for honesty, answers for answers, even in the middle of a fight - see his interactions with Rimbaud for more of what I mean. He repays people's favours and has a strong sense of loyalty and responsibility. Brushing off an ally's death as a means to get ahead is repulsive to him (DHC Dead Apple prologue). He outright tells a GSS soldier in Fifteen what's going to happen to him if he shoots at Chuuya. He does what he says he will, for the most part (unless this has to do with retribution, in which sometimes, rarely, exceptions will be made... I'll bring this up again later). Again, this is probably not mere kindness but also a result of his powerful ability meaning he's never really needed to rely on unscrupulous methods. Nonetheless, for what we see of him, I can't think of a time where he screws others over outside of orders from Mori - much less for his own benefit.
(A case could be made for a drop to 4 if you include his willingness to engage in mafia activities at all. I, personally, wouldn't since being a part of an illegal organization is literally all he's ever known from age 7 onwards. That's not really a character choice imo and more to do with the context he was raised in that became his "normal".)
Score = 5
Subtrait 3: Greed Avoidance - A tendency to be uninterested in possessing lavish wealth, luxury goods and signs of status.
1 = Want to enjoy and display wealth and status.
5 = Hardly driven by material gain.
Again, kind of tricky. Chuuya's introduced in quite possibly one of the most ostentatious outfits of the series (definitely up until that point, at least). He has his expensive wine collection and I think it is implied he has some expensive tastes. I think of that bit in Wan where he says he'll drop any money if he likes the thing he's looking to buy enough. Thing is... we get a little bit in Stormbringer where Chuuya's place is near totally empty; devoid of signs of having been "lived in" and tells us that money and status don't mean much to him. Mind you, this was when he was 16 and things likely changed since then; he's no longer only driven by his goal of finding info on himself and has acclimated to his new home in a sense. Truthfully, though, we don't know all that much about 22-year-old Chuuya. From my interpretation, I think his enjoyment of fancy things like wine and nice clothes is less a drive or motive to acquire any of these things, and more that he gets them as a bonus. He grew up on the streets. He has money now; he might as well use it to get himself something nice. Honestly, I swayed back and forth on this subtrait the most... but eventually settled on a score of 2 (that wine collection is... pretty damn expensive). I think he likes to treat himself. (I am now thinking of Chuuya's excitement over his new pillow in Wan...)
(I'd actually say Chuuya's focus on his appearance has a lot more to do with the image he hopes to give off to others than any true interest in material gain, but more on that later.)
Score: 2
Subtrait 4: Modesty - A tendency to be modest and unassuming (note that this has nothing to do with self-confidence!).
1 = Consider themselves superior and entitled to special treatment.
5 = Consider themselves ordinary people with no claim to special treatment.
Ohhhkay, this is a really weird one. Chuuya is so not modest. He knows damn well how powerful he is and is not afraid to flaunt his ability and martial arts prowess. He's cocky, arrogant and completely self-assured in a fight. However... he also has this weird humility where everything he does is in service to his people. He doesn't ask for special treatment, in fact, it may even make him uncomfortable, at least in Fifteen (dislike of being called "king") and Stormbringer (balking at Adam's "Chuuya-sama" addressal and trying to get him to change it). He goes by first name basis with most everyone and while he expects respect from his subordinates, he's not above spending time with them and doesn't treat people as beneath him unless they're his enemies. From Stormbringer, we know that Chuuya being so much more powerful actually isolates and upsets him. He also rarely takes a lot of credit for things; I think about his reaction in the ending scene in Dead Apple where he brushes off praise from his boss for fighting the dragon, saying he was just doing his job. Most anything he does is brushed off in a similar manner. It's just what he does; it's his duty - what he thinks he should do for his people. See? Weird humility.
I can't rank him too low or too high on this trait - this is one subscale where Chuuya's contradictory nature starts to show, I think.
Score = 3
H Score Total = (5+5+2+3)/4 = 3.75
---
Emotionality (E)
Subtrait 1: Fearfulness - A tendency to easily experience fear.
1 = Have little fear; tend to be tough and insensitive to physical pain.
5 = Strongly inclined to feel fear and avoid physical harm.
There's not much to say about this. This guy goes through so much pain; gets thrown into buildings, shocked, stabbed and just gets back up. He jumps out of a plane to fight a dragon with zero hesitation. He feels bored in most fights and itches for a real challenge. He's near completely fearless lmao.
Score = 1
Subtrait 2: Anxiety - A tendency to worry over future outcomes.
1 = Feel little stress in response to hardship and difficulties.
5 = Tend to become preoccupied even by minor problems.
I believe Chuuya has a rather standard level of anxiety. I just said he's pretty much fearless, which he is, but he can and does worry, else he would not show concern for others in the way that he does. I think about his clear worry for the captured Sheep members in Fifteen, or him trying to contact Dazai in Stormbringer, or the way his concern over the outcome of the Cannibalism virus led to him attacking the ADA even though he knew that's what their mutual enemy wanted. At the same time, he doesn't spend too much time fretting over things if he can help it.
Score = 3
Subtrait 3: Dependence - A tendency to require emotional support from others.
1 = Feel self-assured and able to cope without help or advice.
5 = Crave encouragement and support when sharing difficulties.
While I think Chuuya could benefit from some supportive friends who don't die on him ( :'( ), I don't think he necessarily needs a lot of emotional support. He's pretty used to toughing it out alone and he's good at it. He's very self-reliant. However, he does ask for advice on occasion (from Mori), he does like to be part of a group (though that's more about other people depending on him...) and he's genuinely touched when people do show a want to support him (the Flags, Adam). He's not too good at receiving said support though lol.
He deserves more than he gets imo, but this scale is about whether he needs it or not, and to me, the answer is very rarely. Chuuya can deal with anything, however much or long he needs to. The real question is should he have to?
Score = 2
Subtrait 4: Sentimentality - A tendency to feel strong emotional bonds with others.
1 = Feel little emotion when parting or in reaction to others' concerns.
5 = Feel strong attachment to others and have an empathic sensitivity.
Bonds with others are literally Chuuya's Reason Living. Like, he practically says as much in Stormbringer and loyalty and protectiveness are two of his core character traits. Nearly everything he does is for the people he decides are his family. And even though he tends to lose people time and time again, he still manages to care and value them in spite of it all. The only reason he does not rank a full 5 is because he's hardly empathic or sensitive, but his emotions and loyalties run deep and comprise a good chunk of his identity.

eXtraversion (X)
Subtrait 1: Social Self-Esteem - A tendency to have positive self-regard in social contexts.
1 = Tend to see self as unpopular and have a sense of worthlessness.
5 = Consider themselves to have likeable qualities and are satisfied with who they are.
Hm. I wonder about this one. We've already established that Chuuya is very confident but that's mostly in a fight or when asserting his strength. When it comes to social interactions outside of this context, it's clear that he gets very easily self-conscious. Think of Ranpo calling him "fancy-hat" - he reaches up to touch his hat like he's unsure if it's a compliment or an insult. There's Dazai's commenting on his shoes, first happy and then extremely irritated when the other... shoe drops (I'm sorry). Comments on his clothes, stature and anything to do with his history (the latter especially when he was younger) make him defensive and prone to bursts of irritation - he's very confident up until someone says something that makes him self-conscious. This probably has a lot to do with his former insecurities about his inhumanity; while he knows now that he is human, that feeling of otherness isn't just going to go away. Of particular note is Chuuya's dress sense - I made a note of this earlier that it seems he dresses to give off a particular image, namely, his membership to a group and status as their ultimate weapon (he both blends in and strikingly stands out). I'm not the only one who's noticed how he has a lot of outfit changes throughout the series, and how they seem to match whichever group he's a part of at the time - so, to insult the way he dresses seems to be taken as a personal jab to the image he's built up, an image that keeps him secure in his membership with his people (membership we know Chuuya desires from Stormbringer). If simple poking at the surface level of his self-image is enough for him to get so defensive, that doesn't really bode well for his social self-esteem as a whole.
At the same time, Chuuya does possess a lot of self-confidence and a certain level of self-respect. His reaction to Kenji thinking he's cool is definitely unabashed pride. He likely knows and enjoys his respected reputation in the mafia - but again, this is towards his ability and prowess, not necessarily his person. He responds to care for his person often with confusion and, again, defensiveness. I feel like he's about average in social self-esteem honestly, as his reactions tend to be quite polarized. It really depends on the context and what's being judged.
Score = 3
Subtrait 2: Social Boldness - A tendency to be comfortable/confident in social situations.
1 = Tend to feel shy or awkward when speaking to others.
5 = Willing to approach strangers and speak up.
Yeah Chuuya has no issue talking to people. I wouldn't actually call him social (more on that in the next subtrait) but he's clearly anything but shy. Only reason he doesn't rank a 5 is because he approaches people much more on orders or necessity than genuine willingness.
Score = 4
Subtrait 3: Sociability - A tendency to enjoy conversation and social interaction.
1 = Generally prefer solitary activities and rarely seek out conversation.
5 = Enjoy talking, visiting and celebrating with others.
I know there's a tendency to want to pin Chuuya as being a social person from his loudness, stand-out design, and the fact that we do see him drinking with Kajii and Hirotsu outside of work but truthfully? I think there's a lot more reason to think he's not all that sociable. For one, he is extremely guarded in both Fifteen and Stormbringer which makes a lot of sense - Chuuya has always been singled out as the biggest threat in the room, which means in turn that he has no choice but to perceive most people as potential threats in turn. In Fifteen, he really only talks to people out of necessity or in a fight, but he's not hanging out - of course he isn't, none of the people in that novel treated him like a friend. In Stormbringer, it takes an age for him to relax around the Flags and even then, he's not exactly the most conversational. Okay, you might be saying, but that's him when he's younger and fresh to the idea of having friends who don't ask him for anything in return.
It's tricky, again, because we really don't have much on older Chuuya. He apparently drinks with Hirotsu and Kajii. However, we don't know if he went there with them, or whether they just all happened to be going to the same place and he started venting to them. In the scene with him, Mori and Kouyou, he brings the wine, and then... he's not even really involved in that conversation, mostly just listening (and later cursing out Dazai under his breath lol). Also, a lot of the supplemental materials - drama cds, character q&as, even in Mayoi - seem to imply that he prefers to spend his time going and doing things by himself. There's also a few interesting continuities in Mayoi (which I know is a little... sus for canon info but like I said, we really don't have much and this next point is actually fairly consistent, leading me to believe this is intended to be an actual characterization point). In a lot of his dialogue and the summaries for some of the special events, he is described as "hanging back a bit". He often seems to choose to enjoy the atmosphere instead of talk to anyone, or else he's watching for threats. He almost always seems to be tense except in two conditions: one, he knows the place and the people are safe, and two, he gets to relax and sit back without speaking much. All this seems to indicate he actually very much enjoys time alone or at least time not spent speaking to people. Even when he's at a louder location, he is far more interested in the alcohol haha.
Score = 2
Subtrait 4: Liveliness - A tendency to be enthusiastic, active and upbeat.
1 = Tend not to feel optimistic or dynamic.
5 = Usually optimists and often in high spirits.
I don't know if I'd call Chuuya an optimist, per se. I think he's actually quite jaded. However, he generally has the attitude that he can get through most things and he gets quite into the action - he loves a good fight, he likes doing stunts on his motorcycle, he feels his feelings very strongly. He's not "a ray of sunshine" hehe but he's definitely dynamic and active - I think he'd get quite bored if he had nothing to do. I'd say he's about average.

Agreeableness (A)
Subtrait 1: Forgivingness - A tendency to feel trust and liking towards those who previously caused harm.
1 = Tend to hold a grudge.
5 = Usually ready to trust again after being treated poorly.
Hm. Again, this is another place where Chuuya's contradictory nature seems to show. Chuuya's whole mentality is if you try to hurt him or his people, he tries to hurt you back. It's very deliberate that in Fifteen he often kills by ricocheting bullets back at the people who fired at him. It's very retributive; definitely a "get-even" mentality. He immediately goes on a revenge mission against Verlaine for the Flags' sake. He remains furious at Dazai for years (but that's a constant lmao). However, he also has this strange capacity to... stop feeling that same level of raw anger, and it seems to occur when he comes to understand said person as a human being, especially if he can relate somehow. Also, something that is outright stated in Stormbringer is that Chuuya has the unfortunate tendency to help people who have helped him, even if they wind up betraying him in the end. I don't know if I'd call any of this true forgiveness (I think it ties in more with his ingrained sense of fairness and responsibility) but at the very least, he doesn't seem to hold grudges against people he comes to know for long except Dazai, and even then, he still trusts Dazai implicitly. He doesn't give his trust easily, but by god when he does, it's hard to break. I'm not entirely convinced of this myself, but I gave him a neutral score.
Score = 3
Subtrait 2: Gentleness - A tendency to be lenient in judgements of others.
1 = Tend to be critical when evaluating others.
5 = Reluctant to openly judge others harshly.
...He openly tells opponents they're weak to their faces. He's sooo not gentle and he's only really nice to his allies (and Kenji...but he has very little choice in that matter because Kenji decided they are friends). I think he's the kind of person who's blunt, but not always to be a jerk. Actually, he's fairly attuned to giving advice to people (see: drama cds) but he sure doesn't sugar-coat it. He says what he means. There's also his manner of speaking, which is considered quite vulgar. He's saved from the lowest score because, as I said, he does offer advice and encouragement without much prompting and rarely is he a complete jerk for no reason (unless you're counting bully preschool Chuuya from Wan hahaha). He also seems to have a soft spot for animals, especially dogs. Does that count? I think that counts.
Score = 2
Subtrait 3: Flexibility - A tendency to compromise and cooperate with others.
1 = Stubborn and quick to argue.
5 = Accommodate others' suggestions, even if they may be unreasonable.
I think he's fairly amenable to other ideas actually, but it depends on their source. There's an omake where Kouyou has to call him out because he's indulging Mori and his spontaneous whims too much in their planning. He goes along with the dumb shenanigans the Flags and his subordinates get into, with some griping, but it's clear he doesn't really mind. He's a lot more resistant to Dazai, of course, but again, he will go along with most things in the end because he knows that Dazai's plans do not fail. Still, he rarely just takes other's ideas without putting up a little bit of resistance first (unless it's a direct order), and he doesn't seem to work with others except Dazai (and he does not cooperate with him in any way approaching an agreeable manner, despite being completely in sync). I put him as neutral. He seems to need to see the sense in most things or else see some benefit to others (which might just be said others' enjoyment... the rich girl scene anyone?) before he'll actually do something that wasn't his idea.
Score = 3
Subtrait 4: Patience - A tendency to remain calm rather than become angry.
1 = Tend to lose their temper quickly.
5 = Have a high threshold for expressing anger.
...Lmao. I'm so sorry, buddy. If something is annoying to Chuuya, he will react (it might not be a dramatic reaction but it still manifests as at least visible irritation). He is more than capable of repressing his anger and acting more mature and serious when the situation calls for it but... it really does not take much to rile him up, especially if said annoyance humiliates or embarrasses him in some way. That said, he can and will remain stoic in the face of people who rely on him. Saved from the lowest score by a thread.
Score = 2

Conscientiousness (C)
Subtrait 1: Organization - A tendency to seek order in surroundings.
1 = Tend to be sloppy and haphazard.
5 = Tend to keep things tidy and prefer structure.
There's not much in the series that really indicates what Chuuya is like in his own space. The closest we get is in Stormbringer, where he has very few belongings - but these are stated to be kept very neatly. He appears to spend a good deal of time making himself presentable and it makes sense that this would extend to the space around him as well. Chuuya is likely to be a pretty organized person - he's seen going over a list in an omake and planning out a schedule, and he's good at staying on task - honestly a rarity with characters in this series. While I wouldn't expect him to be quite as fastidious as, say, Kunikida, the little evidence we have seems to indicate he keeps things pretty organized.
Score = 4
Subtrait 2: Diligence - A tendency to work hard.
1 = Have little self-discipline and are not strongly achievement motivated.
5 = Have a strong work ethic and are willing to exert themselves.
Um, yeah, absolutely he's high in this trait. He considers protection of his people his duty and responsibility - it's of prime importance to him and he shoulders a lot of blame should he fail. He brushes off absurd feats such as facing off against Guivre in Stormbringer and fighting the dragon in Dead Apple with a view that can essentially be boiled down to "it's what I'm supposed to do". He clearly expects 100% from himself. He's very diligent. It's a product of his loyalty crossed with his "I can handle anything" mentality.
Score = 5
Subtrait 3: Perfectionism - A tendency to be thorough and concerned with details.
1 = Tolerate some errors and tend to neglect details.
5 = Check carefully for mistakes and improvements.
Tying in with the above, there's not a lot of conclusive examples I can point to, but as he expects full effort from himself and isn't really tolerant of his own failure, I would say this trait is high by necessity. The suits he keeps in Stormbringer are also kept spotless. I can't give a 5, because I don't think he's a perfectionist, per se, but he does rise to meet challenges and that necessitates improvement. He's the best martial artist in the Port Mafia for a reason.
Score = 4
Subtrait 4: Prudence - A tendency to deliberate carefully and inhibit impulses.
1 = Act on impulse and tend not to consider consequences.
5 = Consider options carefully and tend to be cautious/self-controlled.
...ok. So, he definitely prefers to jump into things headfirst. He solves many of his problems with actions and generally more violent ones. However - he can and does look at situations in a much more nuanced way than people give him credit for. He knows how to negotiate, for one - that's part of what Kouyou trained him on in the first place. For another, even when he does rush into a fight, the Dead Apple novelization has this brilliant passage where you see that he's incredibly observant in the midst of the action - and really, he'd have to be. Gravity manipulation is not telekinesis - there's a lot more to consider in terms of force and resistance than just "pick up/throw object". To be noted though is that much of this quick thought happens within a situation - he's adaptable in the moment but he's not really a pre-planner. His way of dealing with things kind of necessitates him jumping into a situation and working through things as they come. So, his score would still be low here, but not the lowest.
Score = 2
C Score Total = (4+5+4+2)/4 = 3.75

Openness (O)
Subtrait 1: Aesthetic Appreciation - A tendency to find enjoyment in beauty found in art and nature.
1 = Not overly interested in works of art or natural wonder.
5 = Have a strong appreciation for various art forms and nature.
I'll be honest, there's not a lot of instances in canon to support or refute this subtrait. We do know that he likes nice clothes and hats though, so that supports some level of aesthetic appreciation. He also is shown humming in the manga, and one of his likes on his character profile is music. In other official material, such as character interviews, he seems to enjoy going for drives to look at the sunrise or sunset from a nice view or enjoying fresh snow falling from the sky. A few of his Mayoi quotes also support this, as he seems to enjoy the ambiance of wind chimes and festivities from a distance - though in one of them he sounds a bit like a tsundere ("the hydrangeas make for an exquisite sight... I suppose") lol.
So, while there isn't a lot, I think there's decent support for a high score here. I can't really see him at an art gallery per se, but he definitely has an aesthetic sense and likely an appreciation for natural beauty as well.
Score = 4
Subtrait 2: Inquisitiveness - A tendency to seek information about and experience the world.
1 = Have little curiosity and are content with what they know.
5 = Seek out new information constantly and love new experiences.
I'm not sure there's much evidence here either. I don't think Chuuya is closed-off to learning new things, as he does teach himself new skills and seems to pick things up fairly quickly. I've already commented on how he's pretty adaptable, especially in the moment. However, I don't think he's the type to go beyond and actively seek out new knowledge that isn't directly applicable to what he needs to know. The knowledge we see Chuuya acquire throughout the series is more practical stuff, stuff he can put to use in some way (ex. martial arts skills). His worldview also remains rather limited - he has only ever known life as an important figure in a criminal organization. He has literally known nothing else. And he doesn't seem to mind this so much; I suspect because, as Stormbringer tells us, he doesn't feel particularly deserving of examining anything different. There's also the matter of his intense loyalty to his people, which means that he has little incentive to look elsewhere. At the same time, he certainly likes to experience things in a more literal sense - he tries different wines, wears different outfits, and is incredibly engaged in action. I'll give him a average score.
Score = 3
Subtrait 3: Creativity - A tendency to innovate and experiment.
1 = Tend to stick to familiar patterns and methods with little change.
5 = Actively seek new solutions to problems and tend to self-express.
Chuuya, I would say, is a lot more straightforward than he is innovative. While, as I've mentioned multiple times by now, he adapts quickly in a fight, his go-to is still... to fight. He deals with things very much head-on, and again, he's not really a pre-planner. In the moment, however, he's incredible at reading a situation and responding near instantly to new threats. As for self-expression, I'd venture to say that Chuuya's actually pretty repressed. He has a distinctive style and set of likes and dislikes, but he often seems to understate his excitement or interest in things - see the tsundere-ish comment above or really just look at how he tries to appear cooler and more put-together than he is in like... anything he shows up in. Dude is repressed, seriously. The only time we see him unabashedly enjoying himself is in high-adrenaline situations like fights - at the very least, in Fifteen, Dazai describes him as being somewhat "kid-ish" when he gets really into things. (You are one to talk, Dazai.)
I'll put him at a neutral score since I can't find too much supporting evidence either way.
Score = 3
Subtrait 4: Unconventionality - A tendency to accept the unusual.
1 = Avoid eccentric and non-conforming persons.
5 = Receptive to ideas that might seem strange or radical.
...you know, writing all this out, and as unusually powerful and contradictory as Chuuya is... he's kind of. The normal one. At least in comparison to a lot of the company he keeps. He tends to be the voice of reason or at least keeps somewhat of a level head in the drama cds which will never stop being amusing to me. Part of the reason he's good at this though is that he's really very accepting and kind of indifferent towards people's eccentricities, especially if he's known them for a while. He barely bats an eye at Kajii's maniacal experimentation, accommodates Mori's weirdness without so much as a reaction, and while he finds Adam incredibly strange (valid lmao) he seems to start to enjoy that after a time. He seems pretty willing to accept just about anyone's quirks the more he spends time around them and gets used to them.
When around Dazai in particular, he reveals himself to... also be very, very strange. The comparatively "normal guy" is quickly replaced with someone just as incredibly unhinged as Dazai himself. Argue however you like whether they make each other better or worse but they certainly do make each other weirder.
I wonder if being surrounded by so many odd people makes him feel slightly less odd by comparison. Something to consider.
At the same time, he's a little too grounded and practical to be given a full score of 5, so a 4 he is.
Score = 4
O Score Total = (4+3+3+4)/4 = 3.5
So, there you have it! Phew, this took a while. I hope you enjoyed it!
I'm working on another analysis for Mori (BSD) and for Seam (Deltarune). If anyone has any other characters they'd like to request, feel free to drop me an ask! I write at a snail's pace but it does eventually get done!

【KagePro】 KuroEne + Kuroha's Minimum Requirement Kill Count - Rambles
Tumblr media
KuroEne Rambles
Me when the targets of my KagePro obsession is my wife and motherfucking Snake of Clearing Eyes
Kuroha Ily bizz natch!!!
I so get why kid me was SO into KuroEne tho, it's like… My wife who plays into her cute cheeky energetic exterior but hides the loneliness and melancholy she feels x Evil insane homosexual dude.
I love my genderfluid Kuroha/Saeru HC. Especially since he's able to change his body into whatever he wants by using Konoha's Awakening Eyes
10 YEARS... THAT KIND OF LOVE JUST DOES NOT GO AWAY... AND IT ONLY CAME BACK STRONGER
Takane/Ene is very important and personal to me because in a lot of aspects, seeing her was like seeing a mirror to myself. Cuz a lot of the emotional issues and struggles that she has are things I relate to
Wasn't sure what to post today so I think I'll just post these old ramble posts in my Notion Docs. I forgot to post them here. .
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Ship that sounds so wild at first but it makes sense/is compelling"
Me with KuroEne LMAO. Like the concept of the ship sounds so random when you hear it for the first time, but I think I've built an incredibly good case for my rare pair ship
Yeah cuz everytime I talk about the ship, I think that once I get to the "KuroEne has a unique context because it uses the HaruTaka and KonoEne ships as a basis," and "Ene has a 'special' relationship with the person that Saeru uses as his vessel," parts of my explanation, things just make sm more sense.
In simple funny terms, KuroEne is like the equivalent of the evil sleep paralysis demon (in this case, sadistic parasitic evil snake) possessing your bf or past love (Haruka), or the person that you're conflicted about, but still have a certain kind of tenderness for (Konoha)
Sadistic parasitic evil snake bf and computer virus gf
ENE BELOVED......
Ene already gets flustered around Konoha who is dense af. So then with Kuroha/Saeru, it's just... no mercy. This guy would just be merciless at teasing cuz he wouldn't hold back. Especially since he would know how to get reactions out of her by provoking/teasing her
...
As far as canon-verse KuroEne goes, I love KuroEne cuz I think the juxtaposition of fluff and angst and tragedy in the ship is interesting and compelling to me, especially considering Takane/Ene's special relationship with Haruka and Konoha.
It isn't KagePro without tragedy, after all.
If you were to sum up my canon-verse KuroEne AU in a funny way, it would be "KuroEne Love/Hate sex"
Turns out I'm not immune when my meow meow mf gets handsy with my wife!
I'm fascinated by how complicated and messy their relationship is. I like exploring all sides of them - their fluff, angst, and tragedy.
It's my fave KagePro ship.
Kuroha/Saeru has such a unique context due to his role and set-up as the series' big bad antagonist. And he just so happens to possess the body of the person that Takane/Ene loves (or has a tenderness for, despite her conflicted feelings for)
Konoha is the Snake of Awakening Eyes in Haruka's remade body, and Saeru possesses Konoha. I think exploring that connection is fun.
I also like working with them in fanon-verse settings outside of canon cuz I think they deserve to be cute together too. Fanon-verse KuroEne, where the setting is much more lighthearted and tame, would be much softer and fluffier.
Cuz fanon-verse Kuroha is more reminiscient of Judar's role. Grumpy cat. Basically a neutralized threat who runs around like a gremlin.
Cuz I've seen fanon-verse KuroEne interpretations where Kuroha just sits around the MekaDan's hideout as a lazy bum grumpy cat. Aloof cat
HaruTaka and KonoEne are both my no. 2 KagePro ships
...
Me: KuroEne is a rare pair since the ship is held up entirely by the fanon interpretations of 9/6 fans who are also Kuroha (and villain) enjoyers in general. Perfectly fine with that tho
I deal with both canon-verse and fanon-verse AUs for KuroEne
A: I'm fine with crackships, if you can build a good case with it. Or if it’s like harmless LOL
Me: Same, I agree. Crack ships can be cool when they're depicted in good faith, and not random hetero nonsense.

Kuroha’s Minimum Requirement Kill Count
Tumblr media
Source: (X)
Ok so by basic deduction, Kuroha/Saeru needs to kill at least 5 people in order for Mary to be able to use the power of the Queen Snake, Combining Eyes, to rewind the world.
Because needing more than 5, means at least 6.
Because if Mary needs more than 5 snakes to rewind the world, then that means she needs at least 6 snakes.
And those 5 people have to be Eye Ability Users too.
Mary is the host of the Snake of Combining Eyes, so that's 1 snake. So she needs to absorb at least 5 more. So he'd need to kill at least 5 people at the end of a Route.
Which isn't hard for him. He has Konoha's body's supernatural strength, and a gun.
So that's roughly more than half of the Mekakushi Dan.

I'll also put the context for non-KagePro mutuals just in case. So I'm putting the pages here so that it can easily be referenced
Kuroha: You'll be getting another one of those wounds you hate so much, huh?
This line is chilling. Absolutely haunting. And it's one of my favourite Kuroha lines for that reason LMAO
Kuroha as a character just gives me pure catharsis cuz he's so fun to watch as a villain. Entertaining as hell
The Mekakushi Dan hasn't met Konoha yet in Manga Route 1. Ene recognizes Konoha's appearance, despite the darkened form, because she remembers that Haruka designed Konoha to be his game avatar. That's why she recognizes Konoha when she sees him.
We also don't know if Kuroha killed Hibiya and Hiyori in Manga Route 1 prior to this fateful meeting with the Mekakushi Dan
(It’d be easy for him to do, but he also wouldn't need to, since Mary needs at least 6 snakes to rewind the world, so he needs to kill a minimum of 5 people)
But realistically, I can't imagine what it'd feel like to be in that situation. This random guy is somehow able to see everyone and start walking towards everyone (the Mekakushi Dan is supposed to be invisible to other people right now due to Kido's Eye Ability) and then he just takes out a gun and points it to Kano's head.
Kano, as a kid, lived with a physically abusive mother and would hide his injuries from others (neighbours) because he loved his mother despite her treatment of him. A tragedy happened where burglars entered their home and killed them. That's how Kano entered the Kagerou Daze and came out with an Eye Ability.
I think he might've realized it was Saeru (Snake of Clearing Eyes) when he said, "You're the Deceiver from that time, aren't you?"
Kuroha tells Kano, "Those wounds you hate so much are going to increase again..."
Can't imagine the fear that runs through in that split second before the shot is fired, like this guy somehow knows your deepest secrets you've never told anyone - the context of your past and death.
Kuroha mocks him specifically for that. Like he's definitely referring to the abuse he endured as a kid, and possibly, the "wounds" that he (Kano) will receive before being killed by him (Kuroha), as well.
Cuz the Original Trio (Kido, Seto, Kano) were taken into Ayano's family as her foster siblings, and Saeru possessed Kenjirou (Ayano's father)
2 years ago, on the night of Ayano's death, Saeru told Kano to use Deceiving Eyes to imitate Ayano's corpse (his older foster sister) and lie at the site where it happened, in order to not draw suspicion from the school and public.
The reason for this is because the Kagerou Daze swallows up bodies, so Saeru didn't want anyone getting suspicious of why there wasn't a body, so that Ayano's death can get further cemented and covered up as a "suicide"
I know Douman (Limbo) (FGO) is the one that is called "Evil incarnate" but honestly, it fits Kuroha so well too, because unlike Douman, canon-verse Kuroha/Saeru doesn't know love, and lacks genuine love (in its purest form) and tenderness.
...
Wait I just had a realization once I woke up.
In the Kagerou Daze Manga, at the end of Manga Route 1, the Mekakushi Dan meet on August 15th, and have a fun time hanging out at the Amusement Park.
The group is on their way out when they spot Kuroha looking in their direction. Kuroha begins making his way towards them, intercepting the group, and immediately starts killing them.
(I... Well... At least he waited until after they were done having fun. Though I'm sure he knows that if he did it in the Amusement Park, it would draw attention to him and cause an unnecessary commotion. So he waits for them to leave first.)
I paid more attention to THIS set of lines from Kuroha/Saeru:
Kuroha: You're the Deceiver from back then, aren't you? Kuroha: Gotten a lot better at using it, haven't you? Kuroha: You'll be getting another one of those wounds you hate so much, huh?
Everyone in the Mekakushi Dan immediately feels un-nerved and wary at how this guy can somehow see them when Kido's Eye Ability is supposed to make them invisible.
I noticed that Kano has a wary neutral expression and pauses before he approaches him (Kuroha). I think that Kano recognizes right away that something is /terribly wrong/ here.
Kido's Eye Ability is Concealing Eyes. Kido's Concealing Eyes can conceal peoples' presence and make them invisible as long as they're in a close radius to her, but the power gets undone with direct contact by another person outside of who it's being used on.
When they were leaving the amusement park, Kido used Concealing Eyes on the whole group (so they'd be invisible to everyone else).
A normal person should not be able to see through that. Kuroha/Saeru can see through Kido's Concealing Eyes. It doesn't work on him.
Kano approaches Kuroha to try and de-escalate the situation, hoping it's a misunderstanding, or trying to lighten the mood, perhaps. Maybe it’s another Eye Ability user?
Kano was compatible with the Snake of Deceiving Eyes because he wished for ways to hide his wounds (from physical abuse) from other people. Kano would use his power to “lie” to others and hide his feelings to not make people worry about him.
After Kano tries to clarify the situation with a lighthearted smile, Kuroha pauses with (……) and makes an observation. He concludes that Kano is “the Deceiver from back then.”
When Ayano died 2 years ago, Saeru forced Kano to use Deceiving Eyes to imitate Ayano’s corpse and threatened to kill his entire family (Kido, Seto) if he didn’t. Kuroha’s comments imply that Kano was using Deceiving Eyes to try and appear more calm than he actually was (in order to not worry the group and make everyone panic even more).
Kuroha then comments that overtime, Kano “has gotten very good at using it,” (has gotten better at being able to lie to other people with his Eye Ability), compared to back then.
Judging by his comments to Kano, this also implies that he is able to see through other Eye Abilities. He can see through Deceiving Eyes, too.
Kuroha then points the gun to his head and mocks him with a comment that alludes to his past - Kano wished to hide his wounds from other people, and now he’ll be getting more of them right now. Then he fires the shot and kills him, then starts killing everyone else too.
Kano's Eye Ability, Deceiving Eyes, allows him to “change what people perceive him as. He can change how he appears, sounds, and even feels, to others, and thus, can impersonate other people and animals.”
So it's basically almost a mild form of Illusion power
And Kano, as Ayano's younger foster brother, had been working together with Ayano before her death, so he's the only MekaDan member who knows about Saeru (Snake of Clearing Eyes)'s existence prior to the present day plot (August 15th, Kagerou/Heat Haze Day)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ene daydreamed about her past as Takane and her days with Haruka nearing the end of the Amusement Park trip, and wishes for her happy days with everyone to keep going on for longer. And then this mf shows up and immediately spites her words.
You always take away everyone's happy ending, don't you.
Honestly heartbreaking. Ene and Shintaro knew and cherished Haruka since he was their friend and classmate. Ene recognizes Konoha's appearance, Haruka's game avatar, when she sees Kuroha.
They (Ene and Shintaro) both recognize the appearance of Haruka before he (Kuroha) kills them.
Personal thoughts
Mahiro Satou's art for the KagePro manga is so boring looking to me personally. The art is weak and undynamic, and the style doesn't fit KagePro imo. But I love my faves enough to want to buy all volumes of the KagePro manga, despite that.
Tho I'm also saying this cuz the FGO: Shimousa Manga got a godsend experienced professional artist with a gorgeous inking style.
Imagine how much hotter Kuroha/Saeru would've been if we got a more experienced artist with a more fitting art style
Though Ig nothing is as ugly as SHAFT’s art style for MCA
Sidu's Kuroha/Saeru illusts are so perfect
Sayuki draws him really well too. I looove how Sayuki draws Kuroha/Saeru (both forms) in the Children Record Reboot MV
Tumblr media
Kuroha/Saeru by Sidu (Kagerou Daze Manga: Vol. 11 - Guest Artist Illustration)
Tumblr media
Kuroha/Saeru - Manga Route 2 Design (Alt Form) by Sayuki (Children Record Re:boot MV)
Wish we got to see Sidu's concept art sketches for Kuroha/Saeru's Manga Route 2 (MR2) design because she was the one who designed it
I do appreciate what we got from the KagePro manga, like seeing HaruTaka and the MekaDan's interactions are cute. It also gave us Kuroha/Saeru’s backstory and his MR2 design

4, 7, 20, 22, for the communal salt lick 🧂
4: do you have a notp?
idk if I'd call it that but i never read anything with USUK, partly bc of the vaguely paternal relationship but also bc in my head there's just too much of an age difference.
7. is there anything you used to like but can't stand now?
actually i don't think so? i don't really like the new fanon liet but im still very fond of canon liet and my own personal interpretation of him.
20. what is the purest ship in the fandom?
actually my salty take here is that i hate this framing of 'pure' and 'wholesome' like what is the opposite? deranged and filthy? no relationship is totally pure, all of them have their unpleasant parts. these are centuries old blood bathed eldritch beings, none of them are pure and wholesome.
22. popular character you hate?
generally i don't like most 2ps or nyos. 9/10 times they're not well written and just come off as an edgier/girlbossier version of the original character. the 2p russia gets me especially like russia is written to be a very big and scary dude and then 2p russia ends up being like 7ft tall and homicidal and it's just too much. i also can't stand romano bar like one very specific romano a discord pal writes. i had to block that fandom bae poll blog because it was annoying me so much seeing romano in a little crown all over my dash.

choose violence: 1, 6, 7, 10, 12, 22
1: answered here (link)
6: which ship fans are the most annoying?
:P Oh wow a choose violence one indeed. I have seen so much character hate in dick ships. like. Babs is put down and simplified, people speak of her character from a place of ignorance to try to explain why her ship is bad, Kory is put down and simplified people speak of her character from a place of ignorance to explain why her ship is bad (and on AB dickb.abs side, people just accept ableism if it means they get their ship). Like. The problem is not the relationships themselves, it's the fans who prioritize male characters above all else and it happens in more than 1 group of shippers.
7 what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
I don't really hate any characters because of how fandom interacts about them, I can generally separate canon from fandom pretty well.
I think my characters with the longest #character name negative tag, which is often influenced both by how they are portrayed in fandom and in canon, are jason todd and tim drake. :P Sorry dudes. But I still like you. But when I see bad stuff in canon or fandom i make negative posts about u, or more of my take on the bad stuff which I realize can be perceived as negative and tag it as such.
10 worst part of fanon
God there are so many. NGL I do not like the 'my blorbo most be the most oppressed and special person ever and everyone around them is mean and unreasonable'. Like whether it's Dick or Jason having relationships with Bruce that are way oversimplified from canon for the sake of angst (or always going with the most black-and-white, boring version of a canon story told multiple times, often a retcon), Tim being bullied by the entire Batfam and oppressed by a 10 year old, or Damian's childhood in the League being written to be even harder than it was with a lot of emphasis on physical abuse it's terrible.
12 the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
Helena Kosmatos (aka Fury v1). I just learned that she had more than 1 comic appearance like a week ago and I already love her. What's not to like? She's super strong, her power was first activated by murderous rage she felt towards her nazi collaborator brother (who she then killed) and she can turn into a giant red monster and power up even further.
... however I have to warn everyone that like. Young All Star comics are not very high quality. And (link) So I'm not really saying you have to go read her comics, just that she's unpopular (because no one knows who she is) and I love her.
22 your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores
hmmmm...
like the character everyone gets wrong, this one is hard for me to tell because you kind of wind up naturally surrounding yourself with people who like the same things you do, so you can be insane about those ideas together. Like LexCorp Talia is great and generally ignored in fandom (unless the person in question is a Talia fan), but the people I talk to about Talia all love it.
I guess overall it's not my favorite part of canon, but it's still a thing I like in canon that I think most people ignore :P Crisis events. I don't always like the interpretation that the world literally changed, like often I try to think of things that are less reality altering, but I do like the giant scale and characters all working together and I think they're fun fic fodder.

1, 6 and 20!
hmmmmmmm ill give this a go with tboi maybe lol
1: i hate the characterization of samson being like. nothing but this buff angry dude (if they're not angry they're adultified and oversexualized as a buff dude in aus) like i feel like they got more goin on being one of isaac's personas and all. plus thats a literal 5 year old why do we keep adultifying these kids lmao at that point thats a completely different character
6: im annoyed by pretty much any tboi shippers if im being brutally honest (got no shade to any mutuals/followers who are and are at least innocent abt it) like yea children can get crushes and things like that but full on ships just. feel weird. once again those are literal 5 year olds lmao why does everything need to be abt shipping what happened to gen.
20: ik ed probably has more in store for the lore in the future but honestly the tboi lore while very interesting to analyze and piece together still raises way more questions than answers to the point where you kinda gotta rely on fanon to make any sort of story out of it. i get its kinda the point so its meant to be left to your interpretation but it still just feels so vague... idk if im making sense with this lmao
thanks for the ask :)

9 and 10 of the fandom violence ask
I better be hearing some good rain world salt
9. worst part of canon mm.. im gonna be honest boss. i like all of rain world. maybe the lack of some context, but on another hand, i Love that that so many things are up to interpretation!! like, what even IS the cycle!! i dont know!! btu ive got my theories and i lvoe theories:) like its all told through the pov of a SLUG so like its expected that the slug wont learn that much!! n i lvoe that.. i love sulluges... n i cant even say that the worst part is the horror of it all because i LOVE the horror of it all... i love it all dude sorry i love it all. rain world (n buddy sim) is a perfect game to me. n like, sure, theres propably some bad parts i could think of if i tried hard enough, but none are bad enough that id call them 'worst'.. tho im ceirtan it does have bad ascepts lore wise. i cant think of any rn. i love htem all. everything i think about that could be bad i realize i actually love
10.worst part of fanon id say the blorbofication n all that:( like. like. man. ok. evil ramble time. the first time i met pebbles, i remember thinking 'oh, what a nice guy' - not in the way that 'this guy donates to charity', but 'this guy is in so much pain and clearly dislikes me but still takes the time out of his life to tell me a bit of lore and tell me how to escape the cycle and doesnt even kill me unless i linger too long! and, in a world in which death doesnt even matter all that much, thats fine!:)' . n when i went into his tag here on tuber all i saw was!! everyone being so mean to him!!!! calling him evil n shit... no!!! hes complex!!!! ehs got feelings!!! like, just because he says 'i feel no guilt over killing moon'doesnt mean thats real!!! thats basic denial!!! thats basic coping skills, denial!!! n hes like. hes COMPLEX hes not just GOOD hes not just BAD hes COMPLEX ..!!! n all i saw was 'ohh angsty teen boy' n like Yeah he Is that but also hes More than that!!! hes not just!!! :(( i dont know . ive seen this happen less, somehow, ever since downpour came out, but. that might be bc im not interacting with the fandom much and only with the iterator rp lads. n theyre all SWAG!! but. god. god. watering down characters - not only iterators, slugs too (pointing at artificer. pointing at artificer. pointing at artificer.another personal,less annoyed thing is. everyone agreeing that artificer is a mother that lost her pups. which, of course, is a very likely scenario!!! but i wish more people explored like, artificer n sibling pups scenario, or like, artificer dad, or smth!! i Adore the angry mother believe me i adore it i really do im not hating on it i love it i adore it please believe me. but. mayhaps if we explored a bit more outside the comfort zone..) to bare concepts and shredding them of all their complexities . hate that!!! their whole appeal si their horrors:(( also when people like, put them into 'bad' n 'good' boxes . or smth. i dunno im eepy 👍

i hate it when im bothered by something on the internet so whenever i come across a take or ship that i really dont like i psychoanalyze myself to try to find the reasons why i dont like it. anyways the reason why i dont like the most popular ship from star railing
be warned im a hater down below
i already blocked a bunch of variations of the ship name but somehow it keeps jumpscaring me so ive been forced to analyze the ship objectively again
it looks sooooo SOOOO incredibly ooc to see dan heng blushing bc of blade, or blade and dan heng being lovey dovey. like, THATS NOT MY FAV CHARA BRO.... DAN HENG!!! GET BEHIND ME!!!!!!!!!
BUT after thinking abt it i realized i could and would eat a hatefucking fic between the 2
so the thing i dont like isnt necessarily the ship itself, but the circumstances they r pictured in
so in my mind they can be enemies with benefits (that will NOT turn into enemies to lovers) and they can hatefuck and try to kill each other until one of them is dead
but they can NOT be in love. canonically there is no affection between the two so any depiction otherwise is SUPER ooc to me and i get pissed seeing my fav charas personality warped so bad bc if blade was some rando enemy then like fine but dan heng has been living in fear of this one specific dude for years so i forreal cannot imagine any sort of secret love or whatever. (dan heng GET BEHIND ME!!!!!!!) i for the life of me can NOT imagine blade harboring any positive emotion towards dan heng, and the same goes for the reverse. ESPECIALLY the reverse.
so what i actually dont like isnt the ship itself, its the most popular fanon interpretation of the ship which is that dan heng has residual emotions from dan feng and secretly likes blade/blade has residual emotions from yingxing and secretly likes dan heng...... bc i rly like canon which strongly pushes that they both are separated from their past lives and tht the only bond that ties them together is blades ongoing vengeance and elio's script
99% of fic and art tends to lean towards the happy side of things (what if they were secretly in love, love that persists through death/reincarnation, happy endings, etc) and the same goes for hsr meaning most blade/dan heng stuff. like yeah a lot of it is angst but its angst w a happy ending. instead of just enemies its enemies to lovers. instead of the sins of the past have been washed away its we'll fulfill the unfulfilled wishes of our past. like...... the core concept of what would make the ship good to me is not there at all in most of the fandom stuff....
plus i just rly dont like how even though the game reasserts dan hengs identity as an individual again and again ppl still mix him into dan feng just for ship material... i might be projecting onto him or smth bc idk why i take it so personally but it feels so wrong. ingame he keeps repeating again and again "i'm not him", "i'm not dan feng", and then the fandom goes "actually, 30% of u is dan feng and that 30% is in love w blade" like what???????
so thats why the ship bothers me so much. the OOCness + the OOCness + the OOCness + if they like each other then its OOC + the themes the game present are ignored in favor of another bland gay ship formula

👀 questions eyyyy?
Here's some f/o questions I've randomly thought of that I don't think I see much on ask memes!:
😤🎯 What's a popular fanon interpretation of your f/o that you just cannot, for any reason at all, stand to see? The kind that has you like "LOOK HOW THEY MASSACRED THEM"?
🤣💖 What are things your f/o does that always, without fail, earn a laugh from you?
😳💞 What about your f/o makes your heart flutter? Personality? Epic moments? Their voice? Lay it on me!
🥺💬 If you could say one thing to your f/o and know for sure it would be delivered to them and they be able to react to it, what would it be?
thanks for chatting! This got SO long so check under the cut!
You may have already seen me complain about Ventress's eventual canon development and how a lot of the fandom that actually makes stuff for her seems to embrace that (basically, her endgame in canon was getting into a short-lived relationship with a jedi I don't personally care for besides just his role in her death - which eventually led to her doing the egregiously ooc (imo) thing of sacrificing herself for the guy. Sorry but imo she did not undergo enough heroic character development for me to believe that she would do that for anyone, much less a good guy. And she also doesn't seem the type to allow love to turn her foolish.)
The only thing I can say about Beast is that I dislike the Beast!Wirt concept. It doesn't feel in-character and I dislike the idea of Beast being able to possess people at all, it feels dismissive of his actual more subtle scare factor and him being able to do so would open up a world of cinemasins nitpicking for the plot (ie; "why would Beast have to convince the Woodsman to help him if he could just possess him instead"). I'm chill with the corrupting influence of the black turtles, but the dog-beast wasn't literally intelligently possessed by the Beast himself. It was kinda just berserk and hungry.
I might end up with something to say about all or most aha...uh for Biowulf I haven't seen many fanon takes on him (the Generator Rex fandom is mostly dead and those who remain don't care about Wulfy much) but the one I have seen that I dislike is the belief that he was a dog pre-mutation. Like, seriously? Do you just think every animal-like E.V.O. (mutant monsters from the show for the uninformed) was never human. Sorry, but Biowulf is a biker dude to me. He may have always been doglike in some ways, but I refuse to believe he was once non-sapient, or that he'd regress to that state if his mutation was ever reversed.
I. have many opinions on Grievous. many of which are not popular perhaps. Uh the thing that bugs me the most is people who write him off completely as a goofy meme character. Yes, he's funny sometimes, he has humorous aspects to his character, and fundamentally some things about him are inherently ridiculous, but I really dislike the fans who will scoff at people like me that believe in the potential for complexity and depth for him. And yes, I have seen fans do that. I have seen fans make fun of in-depth character analysis or more complex fan interpretations of him because "he's a funny meme villain". Star Wars is a hellscape of a fandom and there are so many assholes here. Many that don't even seem to REALIZE that they're being jerks. I like the memes with him, but I hate seeing him pushed aside and disregarded when it comes to the popular idea of getting really deep with TCW's symbolism and themes. I don't understand why only the "good guys" are allowed to be involved in that and all the villains must remain as basic kid-show-level evil as their vanilla selves. Especially when the show itself dabbled in the idea of at least some of the "bad guys" being complex (even though I wound up disliking a lot of what was done with Ventress)
I also have many opinions on Harry Warden!!! I. Really dislike the way the slasher fandom has chosen to reduce him to cannibalism jokes and like nothing else! A. There is so much more to his concept than just the cannibalism and when you take a step back, the cannibalism is actually probably one of the LEAST interesting things about him!! and B. Unlike other horror cannibals like Hannibal or the Sawyers, there is nothing to suggest Harry actually LIKED eating his coworkers and canonically there's no mention of him ever trying it again. It was a desperate act to avoid starvation that without a doubt worsened the trauma the cave-in and weeks of isolation likely already caused him. And this is not me trying to woobify a slasher, I genuinely do not believe he is a willing cannibal or a purely opportunistic killer. To portray him as either, imo, weakens him as a character and makes him less interesting in a sea of willing cannibals and purely opportunistic killers. The lovecore aesthetic can only carry him so far alone.
The only thing I can say about Licorice Cookie's fanon interpretations that thoroughly irks me is. like basically every popular ship for him. I'm sorry, and you're free to enjoy your ships at your leisure, but Licorice is absolutely not the guy to fall for bubbly goody-goody types. He's embarrassingly obsessed with villainy and darkness. I like the goth x sunshine ship dynamic as much as the next guy, but someone as hellbent on being a campy villain as Licorice would absolutely not fawn over anyone who isn't just as into villainy as he is.
The Rango fandom is basically nonexistent but for the most part I think the few people who post about Jake do get it right. The only thing that irks me is when he's described as a "redeemed" villain. Buddy, developing respect for the hero and choosing not to kill him as a result, is not full redemption. He doesn't express regret for a single evil thing he did, he doesn't apologize, he doesn't even help the hero outside of telling him the equivalent of "good job, dude" and carrying the true villain off to kill him off-screen (which he didn't do for Rango anyway. He just wanted revenge against the true villain for betraying him!) Rattlesnake Jake is super fucking cool but he is not redeemed. And that's part of why he stays cool from introduction to final shot!
For Shockwave, I don't actually find it all that annoying, but I am very confused as to why half of his fans seem to ship him with the cop he kills. I get enemies-to-lovers and I get hate ships and I get the kinky appeal of two enemies hatefucking and I even get the kinky appeal of a villain stalking and obsessing over one of their canon victims. I just want to know why most of the stuff I've seen of them is complete fluff. What is the appeal of taking a ship where the main appeal would be how conceptually messed up it is...and then stripping it of any messed up elements. I've seen that happen to multiple conceptually messed up ships and it just...feels so boring. Be shameless, bro. Embrace the fucked up elements of your ship.
lololol sorry for taking so long on the first question :D but you probably wanted an essay anyway if you're messaging me about my blorbos. For the laugh question, I absolutely love Demongo's laugh and his excitement over violence. He has such an adorable laugh and I always smile and giggle when I hear it. If you can get into the independently revamped version of FusionFall or play the Flashpoint archived version, there's a kind of follower pet (they're called Nanos) based on him and GOD all of his lines are pure joy. He laughs, says cute evil things, and is so sweet to the player in his own evil way.
Licorice makes me laugh in a similar way, because he's just SUCH a dork and it's cute as hell. I just hope he knows that even though I laugh at his attempts to be intimidating, I still very much love him and am rooting for him.
I absolutely love NOS-4-A2's mannerisms and little speech quirks, I can never get over him excitedly somersaulting in the air when he's telling Zurg how he took over Star Command HQ in his debut episode. He's so proud of himself!!! And "OH, don't take that tone with ME, Zurg!" always cracks me up. He's a very funny robo-serial killer.
Ozzie makes me laugh with his rampant horniness, really. I'm the kind of person who gets very giggly when flustered positively. And he's the kind of guy who knows this and finds it adorable. We make each other laugh :)
Shen just makes me laugh with how he reacts to not being treated seriously. He gets flustered easily, he's angered easily, and in both cases it's very funny. When he's not actually willing to throw feather knives at you, he can only yell indignantly, and that's just cute :) It's one of his most bird-like moments, angrily squawking at you because he doesn't like how you looked at him.
I can't even go from f/o to f/o on the third question because we would be here FOREVER. The short of it is, I discovered my voice kink through selfshipping and it's why my list is like 85-90% animation. For a lot of mine, it's the voice that initially drew me to them and/or made me stick around when the visuals drew me in first. Even a lot of my casual friends-with-benefits f/os are voice-based.
Oh gosh, I have no answer for the fourth question. I'd be so nervous to say anything! I guess I just want them to know I love them :)

I noticed a slightly old post of yours involving Glanni and his fanon self and like. I agree 100% really. Fanon Glanni is a great version of him. The guy barely had much character to him in the first place. Had they used both Robbie and Glanni in the show then he could’ve been fleshed out. All he ever will be is ‘meaner Robbie who poisons people and is more aggressive’. That’s it. I hate when people try to act like there’s more to it. Like aside from that is that he’s smarter with his plans and shit.
That's the magical thing about the LazyTown fandom. I don't think I've ever known of any other fandom (granted I haven't been a part of very many) who've taken two versions of the same character and fleshed them both out to be their own characters. I just... gosh, I love the creativity of the LazyTown fandom. Some of my favorite fics of all time involve the use of all 'versions' of Sportacus and Glanni - my favorite being Something There That Wasn't There Before by indigowallbreaker
... however, I also get the criticism for fanon Glanni too. Some people had and have a problem with his character feeling too much like a gay caricature - and as someone who very much hates gay caricatures in mainstream media writing by straight people (*cough cough* LeFou in the live action sleeping beauty *cough cough*) I get how uncomfortable it can feel.
HOWEVER however, a good amount of the people in the LazyTown fandom who wrote fics/drew fanart involving fanon Glanni are themselves gay/bi/pan men, and - speaking as someone who is a bisexual man - I don't think it's really fair to tell not-straight men that their stories/art depicting not-straight men are wrong/bad. There's a massive difference between a gay caricature written by straight people vs. a gay caricature written by a gay person. Still, if it makes someone uncomfortable then it makes them uncomfortable.
You know what fanon depiction I don't get though? Íþróttaálfurinn being a massive fucking jerk for no reason. Like, some people make him so mean and violent and like... where the absolute fuck did that come from? He is *literally* Sportacus but orange. The one interaction he has with Glanni in the play is him jumping up at him and saying "hallo!"
It doesn't make any sense, and I genuinely don't understand where it came from. Like, with Glanni I get him being interpreted the way he was because like... the dude came into LazyTown wearing a catsuit, which he covers up with a goddamn pimp suit and hat, and it's somewhat implied he fucked Bessie... I get people making him a freak. But like? What the hell were people smoking when they decided that Íþróttaálfurinn was a massive jerk? A prankster sure, maybe a bit more pushy about being healthy, but like... that doesn't make him mean?

I haven't actually seen the episode myself and I'm not a hardcore watcher or anything, but wasn't there a db episode where Yamcha did actually cheat on Bulma and had Puar be his double so he could date multiple women at the same time? I remember reading about that ep online and being upset because it so didn't seem like something Yamcha would do when he was so scared of women for most of his life
I’m pretty sure you’re referring to the DBZ Kakarot mission: while Yamcha’s dead, puar disguises himself as him to go on dates Yamcha apparently set up before he passed away
if yamcha ever cheated on bu/ma within the show or manga, I PROMISE I would be one of the first people to talk about it becausee you’re right! It is VERY VERY ooc for yamcha to even consider cheating on someone

I’m gonna be honest, you have no idea how totally and completely relieved I am to see someone else shit on fanon Tim Drake. Dude is insufferable.
Also the fact that wayne family adventures has so much Tim and like no Dick Grayson 🚶🏽‍♀️
Fanon Tim Drake is so bad. I will reiterate (so don't @ me), I really like canon Tim for the most part (he was one of the best parts of Batman and Robin Eternal), but fanon Tim is really insufferable. I didn't mean to end up heading the anti-fanon-tim movement, but someone had to say something 🤷‍♀️ I am happy the movement is catching on. As Dick stan, I think we need to send the bad fanon Tim to Arkham and make canon Tim the CEO he never was 😉
I am okay with WFA not having as much Dick. I know that sounds odd, but it is truly catering to the fandom. There is nothing wrong with that, but fanon Dick is not quite my favorite. I love WFA, do not get me wrong, but as someone who reads the comics and really focuses on canon, it isn't as high up on my list of interpretations as some other works. It is incredibly simplified and I think it misses a lot of nuance. I know that it is not supposed to be complex and is a fun and accessible webtoon (I am not hating, just another format). I accept and enjoy it for what it is. My favorite versions of Dick and stories of his are when he is separate from the batfam and think he thrives best independently of them with some visits so I am not too fussed, if that makes sense. I do LOVE the art though and think we have been cheated out of some possibly amazing fashion had he been included more. He is a fashion icon after all 😉💅
I guess ultimately the struggle is when people assert fanon as truth. If you want to bend canon to fit your interpretation of a character, that is fine, but at least just admit that at a certain point, it is an OC that you have masked as a different character.
Fanon Tim is NOT anything like canon Tim. I love the Tim blogs that post the real characterization of him and love him for the goober he is. He is really likable once you remove the caffeine addiction and claims that Dick (who WAS ACTUALLY IN ARKHAM AT ONE POINT AND MOMENTS AWAY FROM AN ACTUAL LOBOTOMY) wanted to send him to Arkham.
Tumblr media
I am advocating for everyone to keep up the 'bullying is ok as long as it's Tim Drake' tag as it is immaculate and doing vital work to destroy fanon Tim 😉😄
