summary: max is determined to win y/n back before leaving las vegas and an unexpected reunion at the hotel's pool might be just what he needed

a/n: okay so i wasn't actually planning on doing a part 2 to this but a few people requested it and since i'm a pathological people pleaser here it its !!

the tortured athletes department series

“okay so, step one.” charles’s voice caughts his attention.

if max was gonna get y/n back, he needed to do it that weekend, she was leaving for her other tour dates and he had other races, and he needed a plan. that’s where charles, daniel and lando come in.

“break up with your girlfriend.” the monegasque continues. the other two men in the room nod, agreeing with the ferrari driver.

the second y/n’s concert finished, max felt the urge to go running backstage to her just like old times, but his plans were interrupted by the women he went to the concert with in the first place. his girlfriend wanted nothing more than to go back to the hotel and her daughter was too exhausted to even walk in a straight line, so he took them both to the hotel and then ran into charles’s room to create a plan, calling daniel and lando to join them.

“you’re right.” max says.

the thought of breaking up with his current girlfriend has been on the back of his mind for a while now. he didn’t really wanted to accept it, but he’s been in love with y/n all this time and it just wasn’t fair to be with someone else. step one was the most urgent.

“step two, call y/n and tell her that you wanna talk to her.” daniel speaks this time.

this one was the step he was the most nervous about. they haven’t talked for ten months and now suddenly he was thinking of getting back together, i mean, what if she moved on already? just because he hasn’t doesn’t mean she didn’t either; but he remembered her singing a few hours ago about getting him back, even if it was just to punch him in the face. he would take what he can get.

“maybe mention that you went to see her show as well.” lando adds.

“what if she thinks i’m a creep or something?” charles gives him an incredulous look.

“mate, come on, you’re her ex, not some random dude.” max nods again and felt the stress of anticipation already creeping in.

“it’ll be fine, max, nothing to worry about.” daniel tries to reassure him and lando smiles at him in the same way.

he exhales and stands up from the chair he was seated on.

“i should go back to my room. start things with the right foot.” they all agree with him and wish him good luck.

when he got back to his room, he saw his girlfriend’s daughter already asleep on her bed and his girlfriend laying down and watching something on tv. he prepared himself internally and went into the room.

“hey.” he says. “can we talk?”

he was quick. it was as uncomfortable as breaking up with someone is, but he felt a bit relieved after. she tried to persuade him into thinking about it, he said he didn’t want to hurt her. he told her they could stay at that room and he would just ask for another at the reception, she agreed. she asked if this was because of y/n, he stayed silent for a moment. he couldn’t lie, not that it was all already out there, and y/n was not a secret he had to hide to anyone. he said yes. she asked him to get out. he did.

max went down to the hotel’s reception and asked for an extra room. since it was a bit late at night they asked him to wait an hour until they arranged one of the suites for him. he agreed without complaining and was about to head back to charles’s room, however, already on the elevator he impulsively pressed the button for the last floor that took him directly to the pool. it was dark and there was no one there, the dim lights on the inside of the pool being the only lightning.

he walked over to the balcony and admired the view of las vegas beneath him, from his position he could see the whole downtown, including the track that he would be driving that weekend. if he wouldn’t have been too distracted he would have heard the sound of small steps going his way, stopping right at the entrance.

you thought you were seeing things, or that you had gone mad. you blink twice, and when he didn’t disappear, you knew max verstappen was standing right in front of you. you could recognize him anywhere.

the uncomfortable burning feeling of being looked at got the best of him and he finally turned around. he didn’t say anything, thinking it was his imagination playing games, but it wasn’t, you were right there, just mere inches away from him.

“y/n.” was all he could say. he figured a hello would be the way to go. “hey.”

you looked just as shocked as he was, but that didn’t stop you from answering.

“hi, max.” your voice was more confident than how you actually felt.

you had just done a three hour show and just wanted to relax a bit in the pool before going back to your room, and now you were there, facing your ex-boyfriend.

“you’re staying here?” he asks, regretting it instantly because of course you were.

“yeah.” you answer, not moving a single centimeter. “i have a few shows this weekend.” you explain.

“i know.” he says, almost too quickly. you arch a brow at him but don’t say anything. “i’m racing here this weekend.” you nod.

“i know.” you copy his answer, although you take a few more moments to say it.

“i went to your show.” he says out of nowhere.

this shocks you even more than before because what does he mean he went to your show?

“what?” is all that you could mumble.

“tonight.” he clarifies. “i went to see you. i hope you don’t think that’s… inappropriate.” his eyes finally leave yours and he looks at the pool instead.

“i don’t think… why would it be inappropriate?” you ask, a bit flabbergasted still. “i don’t think that.”

he nods relieved to hear you say that.

“so you went to the show?” you ask again. “you heard me sing all those songs?” you question, a bit shy.

“yeah, it was incredible.” he smiles at you. “you’re the most talented person i know.”

this makes you blush because he still has that power over you. you couldn’t manage to thank him for the compliment, so you just smiled at him, which was enough for him.

“i liked your surprise song.” he states, more confident this time.

“oh.” you reply. “you did?” he nods. “yeah, i guess it’s a fun song.” you chuckle, knowing damn well you wrote it thinking about him.

this was it, he thought. this was the moment he had been fantasizing about since he stepped into the stadium that night. how to get y/n back? this was his opportunity to do something. no charles, daniel or lando to whisper in his ear. it was all him.

“is it true?” he questions.

“what?” you frown.

“what you were singing in the song?” he explains. “i’m not gonna flatter myself thinking you wrote it about me, but, did you?”

you bit your lip trying not to laugh. how could you confess that to him?

“are you asking me if i want you back?” he notices that you ignored his question, but he didn’t care.

“i know i do.” you looked at him for a few seconds too long, processing his answer.

“i thought you had a girlfriend?” you mumble and he shakes his head.

“we’re not together anymore.” finally, he moves slowly from the other end of the balcony toward you and you remain still. “i’ve always been yours.”

you look at him properly this time, you could see every detail of his face now with how close he was to you and you felt like the ten months you haven’t talked to him hadn’t passed at all.

“and i can understand if you moved on already, but i must tell you i haven’t, for me it has always been you.”

the reasons of why you had broken up all those months ago seemed so silly now. he wasn’t a bad guy, and you weren’t a bad person. your break up wasn’t ugly, both of you had just been too busy with your crazy schedules and you thought ending things would be for the best, but not a day had passed where you didn’t regret that decision.

max was everything, and he was here in front of you, asking for a second chance.

“and when i saw you tonight at your show and i just fell more in love if that’s even possible, and i thought of all the time we wasted and i…”

you touched his face with tenderness and cut him off with a kiss that was long due.

     “Everything okay?”

     “Yeah, just a reminder my lease is up in a few months and I need to renew it soon.”

     “Is he still on your lease?” 

     “No. I talked to the management about him the last time I had to renew. He never paid his half anyways.”

     “You gonna renew?”

     “I don’t know if I’m going to be able to afford to stay there anymore when the baby comes. I don’t even know if I’ll be able to find a place and move in before the baby gets here. I could move in with Hana again but I still have to talk to her about it.”

     “You don’t have to agree, but you could move in here. Make it easier when the baby gets here and not moving him back and forth constantly.”

     “In…” Y/n looked at him

     “I’m just trying to think ahead. You don’t have to, but I’m putting the option out there.”

     “I’ll take it into consideration,” Y/n told him as she closed her phone, setting it on the coffee table.

     The two sat back on the couch, continuing to watch the drama that Jeongin had put on when they were eating dinner. Y/n had adjusted herself to be more comfortable a couple of times before Jeongin suggested moving them to the bedroom so she could lie down comfortably.

    The two moved and Jeongin set her up comfortably on the bed under the covers and put on the show for them on the bedroom TV. Y/n rested her head on his shoulder as she kept her eyes on the TV. Slowly, the two somehow shifted closer. His arm wrapped around her while she rested on his chest. Getting interrupted by his phone as she was falling asleep, “Sorry,” Jeongin apologized

     Jeongin grabbed his phone and left the room to take the call. Y/n laid back and continued watching the show. Jeongin came back a few minutes later and got back into bed with her again. “Who called?” Y/n asked

     “My mom. Asked how the appointment went. Says congratulations on us having a boy,” he clued her in

     “Think she’ll help plan the baby shower?” Y/n asked as she looked up at him

     “She did ask about it. Offered the house to host it at.” Jeongin looked down at her 

     “I love your mom,” Y/n smiled

     “I’ll tell her next time she calls,” Jeongin laughed, pulling her closer to him again

     Y/n smiled up at him as her arm draped over his middle. Jeongin leaned his forehead on hers, returning the smile. “You look like you’re thinking,” Y/n said

     “I am.”

     “About?”

     “How I kind of regret saying to go slow because I kind of wanna kiss you. Especially after shopping all day…”

     Y/n leaned forward and placed her lips on his. Not giving him another second to think about it. It took a second for the man to respond then he wrapped his arms around her and held her as close as he could with her bump between them. 

     Y/n smiled and cupped his face. Both melted into the kiss as he rolled them both over so he was on top. His hands held onto her hips as the kiss deepened. Y/n moaned into the kiss before he pulled away and looked down at her. “You okay?” He asked, kissing her cheeks

     “Yeah,” Y/n said as he trailed his lips down to her neck

     Jeongin didn’t say anything as he pulled away from her neck. He reached over and grabbed a pillow from the other side of the bed, moving her to get the pillow under her for her back.

     “I said I was okay,” Y/n said

     Y/n wrapped her arms around his neck, “Just cute?”

     “Your’s?” Y/n asked

     “Mine,” Jeongin confirmed

     Y/n smiled as she looked up at him. His eyes seemed to be holding so many emotions. Jeongin leaned down to her lips again, pressing them together. Y/n moaned into his mouth. PLATONIC! younger! yotsurugi siblings x older sister! reader

summary... you're braiding the hair of the longer-haired siblings and it seems hibaru wants his hair braided too!

warnings... fluff, brothers bickering, the siblings are around 7-11 y/o, hibaru and kou fight, name trying to keep peace, name is blood-related to hibaru

sitting cross-legged on the couch, [name] the oldest of the yotsurugi siblings is braiding the ninth adopted son of the yotsurugi-- taira

taira was sitting down on the floor in front of his older sister and watching a show that was playing two men fighting with katanas

many of his siblings were here, talking amongst themselves or resting by [name] kuran was laying his back against the left side of [name] and kou was sitting beside him on the floor as well

shikaba was laying his head on the arm rest of the couch while laying his feet on [name]'s lap

shio and satsuki were sitting together playing cards and his other brothers went to join them, his other sister was also sitting on the floor with him but was on her phone--seeming to play a game on it

while....hibaru and terasu... were nowhere to be found, hopefully not causing any trouble..

BAM !

he spoke too soon...

"[NAME]! I WANNA- huh? what are you doing?"

hibaru jumped up and leaned over the right side of the couch to peek at what his older sister was doing, terasu doing the same

she looked over at him and smiled "I'm braiding taira's hair"

taira looked over his shoulder and lifted his chin, he was proud of his hair "it's cool, right?"

hibaru nodded "ya! really cool!.. [name]! can you braid my hair too??"

[name] laughed lightly "i don't think you have enough hair for me to braid, hibaru"

hibaru's happy smile faded off his face and he touched his hair, but his smile came back "don't worry! ill grow it out like taira's! then you can braid it!"

before [name] could answer the cheerful brother, kou did

"pft...doubt it.." kou remarked

hibaru whipped his head around with a scowl towards kou "what was that!?"

"i said! you're bald!" kou yelled, "kou..please-" [name] couldn't finish before hibaru grabbed the pillow under shikaba--who groaned-- and plunged it at kou's face "eek!!"

"hibaru!-" [name] got interrupted again by hibaru, he jumped over the backside of the couch right onto the half-asleep shikaba

"ow!! hibaru!"

hibaru couldn't apologize right that second and flew at kou and they both tumbled around the carpeted ground--shouting at each other

"take it back!"

"no! get off!"

"take it baack!!"

"ow! no!"

"[NAME]!!" both kou and hibaru shouted in unison

[name] had to put down the unfinished braid and stood up to lift hibaru off of kou "kou...hibaru, please" name pleaded

both of them looked up at their older sister's disappointed face, before hibaru hid his face into [name]'s neck and mumbled "he...called me bald.."

"you are.." kou murmured

"wha-" [name] placed her hand over hibaru's mouth "ah!.. no more of that"

she felt hibaru's cheeks puff up under her hand but she didn't acknowledge it, "kou, after I'm done braiding taira's hair, it'll be your turn, ok?"

kou shook his head in understanding, [name] then turned around to see kuran waiting patiently to lean his back onto his sister's side again, and taira was waiting for his braid to be finished

she sat cross-legged on the couch again and placed hibaru on her lap

she felt kuran lean on her side again and turned to shikaba "are you okay shika?"

"yeah..are you okay? im sorry for jumping on you.." hibaru apologized to his older brother

"yep, im okay...just got crushed..thats all" he yawned, he placed his feet onto terasu's lap--who was now sitting next to [name], terasu looked up at her and smiled "hello"

you smiled softly "hello" terasu--after smiling back-- rested his head on the side of your shoulder and watched the show that was continuing to play

carefully leaning over little hirabu she took taira's unfinished braid "here hibaru you can help me braid taira's hair, ok?"

"okay!" hibaru cheered

taira smiled softly at his younger brother's happy voice and relaxed into the bottom of the couch, kou also quietly leaned into taira's side

the other siblings seeing the relaxed state everyone else was on the couch, had made their way to them and sat in the open areas around their siblings

everyone happily watching the show together in peace

"I love all of you..so much" hibaru murmured and [name] kissed the top of his head

"we love you too...so much"

Sanji hummed an old North Blue tune to himself as he got breakfast ready, alone in the kitchen. The sun was peeking over the water, but with no clouds or fog to obscure it, the galley was already illuminated with its golden glow, making the hour feel later than it was. He had finished portioning out the grilled fish and was checking on his miso soup when the door opened.

Sanji wasn’t surprised that it was Zoro—it had been his watch, after all—but the shocking burst of pink and magenta adorning his torso made the cook do a double-take, blinking like it was a mirage. His mouth fell open at the audacity.

“Breakfast ready?” Zoro asked around a yawn.

Sanji bristled. “Oi, mosshead! How many times have I told you not to touch my clothes?”

“Dunno,” Zoro replied easily.

“Yeah, ‘cause you don’t fucking listen.”

“Don’t see what the big deal is,” Zoro said, taking a seat at the bar. Sanji growled but busied himself grabbing small bowls from the cupboard. “It’s just a shirt.”

“The problem is your hygiene.” Sanji gestured. “I don’t need my clothes smelling like you, or getting torn when you swing those dumb blades around.”

“I’m not gonna tear your stupid, precious shirt,” Zoro scoffed, grabbing a prepared bowl of rice.

Sanji rolled his eyes. “Just make sure you stop at borrowing my underwear, alright?”

Zoro swallowed a mouthful, then shrugged. “I won’t. It won’t fit, and besides, I’m usually going commando anyway.”

The bowl in Sanji’s hand cracked and broke apart.

He cursed as the shards fell at his feet, but in the next instant, his head whipped around. Sanji stared wide-eyed at Zoro. “What??” he cried, a little too high-pitched. “What do you mean it won’t fit?” Sanji shook his head furiously to erase the mental image before it could form. Zoro was just being ridiculous. “I’m sure it’ll fit.” He leaned down to grab the remnants of the bowl.

Zoro had the smallest smirk on his face. “I could show you if you want.”

Sanji could feel how warm his face was, which just made him angrier. “I don’t need you to show me! But it would fit!”

His hips weren’t that—

No. No. Sanji was not thinking about Zoro’s hips, or what he was or wasn’t wearing under his pants.

Zoro shrugged again. “Not until proven otherwise.”

Sanji stared, aghast, struggling for a retort.

It was then that he looked over and saw Usopp standing just inside the galley. At Sanji’s flustered look, Usopp held up his hands and shook his head, cutting off any explanation.

“I don’t wanna know.”

My opinion on the Percy Jackson tv show season 1!

So I watched season one of the Percy Jackson tv show as it was released and now here is time for a quick review!

Sorry I wanted to finish this drawing before, hope you like it! (To be honest i didn't draw the drawing on the shirts, I just used what was used on the Disney store, but I draw the rest.) You can see it on my Instagram too, without the review

I'll start my review of season one by talking about...

The characters

Well, first I wanna say I like how the three main characters are being portrayed here ! Percy is a very loving and kind character while Annabeth is a smart girl desperately looking for recognition from her mother. As for Grover, he's a kind and clumsy satyr who really likes Percy and it shows. Basically these three characters love and trust each other and it's incredibly obvious ! Even Annabeth and Percy, who start their relationship by not being that much trusting in each other. I really like how their quest improve their relationship !

What I love too is how the adults are shown, especially Sally and Poseidon. Sally, who was shown as a perfect mother in the book, became a woman who is doing her best to raise her son in the series and I find it so interesting ! The book is in Percy's point of view so it's obvious that he would see her that way, but the tv series isn't exclusively from his point of view so it can show her turning desperate because she don't know how to effectively protect her son. I can say I really like her scene with Poseidon too, that was so touching!

Just a word about Gabe, who is way less clearly abusive. A lot of people thought it was a problem, that he was too nice, but I thought it made him even more scary because if he's not physically violent against Sally, he's still clearly psychologically abusive. Though it seems like Sally is able to manage him a bit.

Just remember that abuse isn't always physical, that you can be abusive without hitting anyone.

The gods

I can say I like how the gods that appears in this first season are portrayed!

Dionysus is so manipulative and bitter, I love it! Even if we never say it in the series (from memory), it's obvious that he doesn't want to take care of the demigods, and I love it!

Ares is wonderfully portrayed as a being who has a real passion for the war ! For example, we see him having fun on Twitter and, later, Grover succeed to convince him to talk to him by talking about less-known wars. He also has that wonderful vibe of "don't mess with me or I'm going to beat you to death".

We don't see Hephaestus a lot but again you feel it's someone confident who is a very skilled blacksmith.

I love that as soon as we meet Hades he's very welcoming and behaving in a very "I don't care about what's happening with my brothers" way. He just want to protect the underworld and, again, it's obvious.

Zeus is incredibly intimidating which, again, I love so strongly ! I can understand why no one would stand to him.

Finally, Poseidon is a very loving dad who can't do much for his son but is trying when he can try. I also love how, at the end, he ends up standing to Zeus to protect Percy. Then the very awkward interaction he has with him because the didn't talk much, Poseidon was mostly absent, but he still love him.

The adaptation

Now, of course I'll talk about the adaptation. And I'll start this part by a very personal story: how I discovered Percy Jackson.

I started my discovery with the movies. Actually with the first one only, I didn't want to watch the second one because I didn't understand why it would have a sequel. I thought it was enjoyable, though very cliche, but far from the best movies. As I didn't know the original story I thought it must have been an adaptation of a very average book series who must have gotten a bit of success and has been adapted because Hollywood didn't have any idea anymore.

Then I finally read the books because a friend insisted it was good, and Internet was talking about how it was full of representations... And now I hate the movies ! Because I considered we could have gotten incredible movies out of the books ! But we didn't...

Honestly I'm not angry that the tv series made so many changes. Because it wasn't exactly my problem with the movies. My problem was it made changes that didn't make any sense, transformed the story into something very cliche and sexist, and wasn't respectful of the mythology when the book was.

I'll only give one example that angers me a lot: Grover's case.

In the book Grover is a very sweet, kind, brave and goofy character who love his friends and even more his girlfriend Juniper! He's very likeable, and a good protector for the demigods he's in charge of.

In the movie he's not likeable at all. He's a goofy character and likes Percy but he isn't sweet and only think about girls... Like you have a scene where he decides to stay with Persephone because she's hot... He clearly isn't sacrificing himself at all. Overall I don't think he's likeable, I thought he was kinda useless and annoying.

In the tv series... He's kinda goofy but not too much, and he's sweet, kind and brave. More than that, he's considerate and I actually like that he's clearly intelligent in this show because he lived longer than Percy and Annabeth. He's not entirely faithful to his book counterpart but the changes make sense and he's still very likeable and I want to hug him so hard !

For now, I'll conclude there. I'll probably rewatch it and make a new review later but I don't want to say I'll surely do it so I won't have pressure. That first season wasn't perfect but it was pretty enjoyable and I can't wait seeing what they're doing next. To be fair, The lightning thief wasn't the best book of the series so I understand it wasn't as fun as the last books.

and then the blurb on the back is like "natsume climbs up into the attic to look for some books, but... uh oh... is that a... g-g-g-ghost??!? things are about to get freaky deaky in here if he doesn't do something... quick!!! will natsume be able to handle it before the clock strikes thirteen, or will he become... gulp... the ghost's next meal?!?"
