i'm pretty okay with that ship, i guess? i'm pretty okay with almost all ships regarding the main cast! im much more partial to the NXX polycule tho (bc they have so much love for each other aAAAAAAA), but my main main fave is artem/rosa. i absolutely love those fuckers.

maybe it's because of artem's role as mom friend and marius' as baby of the group, but i think a brotherly bond between them would be so good both for their development and also angst. for marius, he gets an older brother but it gets angst in the sense that artem would be 'replacing' giann. for artem it would be not being able to step out of giann's shadow.

or think about the trust they could have with each other, the bonding they would do bc they both had lonely childhoods. marius' childhood was lonely out of protection, artem's was because of people ditching him for their jobs.

Helloooooo, I’m Brooklyn! I’m director and artist. I do both traditional art and 3D art. Recently I’ve started making poorly made free cc for TS4 that you can find over on @kiricheu. I post updates on stuff I’m working on here sometimes, but most stuff you’ll see on this blog is for my machinima series, Lykaia. the homosword (other guy not pictured): ancient weapon with a kind of sentient computer in it (i really gotta redesign the sword i dont rly like it anymore). other dude is a type of human that can both endure very high temps and can get really hot with emotions (to the point of possibly burning to death when something like grief or rage is experienced), lives in what is essentially a country-sized junkyard pretty much constantly on fire with his nomadic people (avoiding the Great Firestorm). finds the sword and uhammmmmm ... adventure (and gay love.......)

okay i did see this being said a lot and uhhhh i was trying to understand it but like. i also don't. like ok with cluttered aesthetic build shots or yknow the odd landscape with heavy bloom shader on it i guess if ur looking at it completely from that pov yeah i guess it looks like some posts that "blow up" r just sort of the same shit. but the fact remains that its also it's good shit like anyone can clutter a room and take a photo of it what really counts here in my opinion anyhow is shot composition. and there's literally preestablished rules for this sort of thing u can google cinematography basics and get it for free... there's a whole field of study looking into what draws the human eye. like maybe the core concepts behind what makes a popular post popular is the same but thats because it just works. if u wanna shy away from that entirely but then complain about ur posts not being as popular then that's very much a u problem it doesn't have anything to do with the rest of us

idk why i'm the bad guy for being honest for my reasoning behind what i do and don't reblog? lots of other people have been saying they dont really care about aesthetics which is great but if i said that i'd literally just be lying to you. i'm not gonna apologise for not lying... i like being able to see the passion and energy poured into the same video game we're all playing it's only natural to appreciate that- if that reads as passive aggression and u don't understand my stance that's fine by me

i would say for me personally try watch visual media that u can recognise as "beautiful" and not to shit on like. cw shows but i mean stuff that is marked by its cinematography being truly excellent. and just really examine how those set and lighting designers use angles and lighting and how the people filming and editing choose to frame their shots to achieve what works. hell looking at art helps with this too. look at other people's stuff on simblr analytically try to seriously work out why it appeals to people the way it does. ik u asked for editing tips but i think it really starts ingame you can have the most incredible editing style but it doesn't work if ur shot comp doesn't work then it'll won't hit as hard

take time to learn what most of the adjustment layers do on photoshop, and what all the blending layers look like, download other people's psds and play with them on top of ur shots to see what works! what u personally think looks good will be different from what i personally think looks good, i like dramatic lighting and muted colours and mid level contrast so not too strong but i can't speak for whether you will too. ALSO im a religious user of @/simmerstesia's psd set here i think a well chosen shot can be really elevated by using something like this to really give it that final polish

RECENT READ: I'm in the process of reading an INTENSE book that my bestie @bellecosebabe got me called "HeartSick" by Chelsea Cain. It has my favorite subjects in one: Unhinged Women, Murder, and Broken Men.

INSPIRATION: Heavy, heavy musical influence; I have varied tastes in a wide range of music, so as long as the music moves me, it's an inspiration for me. Bonus points for music from black and/or LGBTQ+ artists as a clear bias... Additionally, I'm constantly inspired by the video games I play and use that for framework/context/baseline for the situations I write and the character dynamics I want to portray. I'm also in love with retro aesthetics, ranging from the 70s-00s and often take inspiration from those eras.

STORY BEHIND URL: Okay, this is gonna be a long one so be patient with me. ORIGINALLY, this blog was heavily inspired by The Weeknd's recent album, Dawn FM, and although he's... weird. I do admit, the album is the foundational story of this multi-muse and most of the characters involved. Not only was this album a very critical album for my mentally ill brain last year, Dawn FM is described as a state of purgatory—a journey towards the "light at the end of a tunnel;" and that relates to themes I feel like hit this blog, and I'm hard pressed to say there isn't a song on this album that connects to one muse or another. Additionally, there's a lot of electro-synth pop, which is also fundamental aesthetics for most characters (Jacket's from the 80s, Lilah appeal to 70s styles, Terrah being raised in the 80-90s, etc.). THE URL is a play on a lyric in the song "Don't Break My Heart"; I like the idea of the blog being in the haze of night, where energies meld into a haze of mindless actions and heated emotions, trying to find something in the low lights. And that's just kinda fun to me with a lot of the characters in this blog... they're all trying to find something guiding them to the light... Also, it's a lavender light because I like the color purple. lmao.

Dunno. Depending of the type, seeing their descent into madness makes me laughs due to the sheer ridiculousness of it. Today, I watched a dating sim of a brain eating amoeba that wanted for his host to live but didn't want for her (host) to contact professional health, because it spelled his and his children's end. When you chose an option that hurts his feelings, he says that he needs to be alone, and my very thoughts and feelings were the same as the youtuber "Oh, so the parasite needs space". The meaning behind that is enough to make me giggle because of the duality of everything, and how delusional the amoeba is. The game isn't yandere or anything, but it's the closest example I can give; them speaking or acting to the extremes for something that you, as the audience, are aware of how wrong it is. It's incredible seeing how a mind can produce such machinations!

But I get what you're talking about– that's what makes writing yandere fics so fun!!! It's def like watching a disaster unfold.

"Hilarity" is one way to describe it! I remembered how I told my friend half of the plot of a fic I wrote ("No" - Albedo) and she's just clowns on the reader the entire time lololol. On the surface some yan fics sounds absurd (*cough* yandere!cat!ayato *cough*) but somehow it works out?? And it's funny that it kinda does??

After reading and writing a ton of it you just kinda slowly lose a sense of "hey, this isn't normal" lololol. You have to suspend your disbelief everytime with yandere fics until it hits you like a truck. It's kind of why I don't have a lot of domestic yan!fics– most of the time I just wanna make people go "wtf" and nothing is better than getting that reaction (⁠≧⁠▽⁠≦⁠)

Let him into a grungy movie!!!! This isn't really a genre but Lazarus NEEDS to be a Lost Boys vampire he would thrive SO MUCH. On that note, urban fantasy or perhaps something that's more pure horror than Barovia (He would thrive as a monster, but like, for the WORST reasons bc he probably wouldn't have the morality chain he has now)

What genre would your OC do badly in but it would be hilarious or interesting to watch?

G-dddddd it would be so funny to throw him in a dating sim/slice of life, or more light hearted fantasy/slapstick because any type of focus on feelings would knock him WAY off balance and the "rules" of the genre would prevent him from physically injuring anyone else lmao

If your OC wrote fanfiction (or if they already do), what type? (fix fic, ship, crossovers, AUs, smut, etc.)

Hmmmmm... He's a VERY serious little guy, but going off of "drow like playing intense and days long strategy board games" type hc, I think if he wrote fic, it would be really heavy on the politics and really crunchy world building, with the characters as more of a vehicle for that. He'd be VERY intense about the lore but any fic would have to have like 800000 layers of separation from the rest of his life because NO ONE CAN KNOW HE DOES THAT.

How would your OC do in the last book/movie/tv show/game/etc. you read/watched/played?

LMFAO NOT HASR'THAL ON GAME CHANGERRRRRR,,, He'd 100% get way too worked up and competitive about it- absolutely the type to have Brennan level unhinged rants, for SURE (but he's 4'7 so it's far more comical)

In a murder mystery, what role would your OC play? (e.g. detective, sidekick, wacky suspect, rival investigator who gets in thew way, red herring, true culprit)

....Can he be the victim~? (I kid, I kid- Bo don't beat me up,,,) He’s a smart cookie! Resourceful and quick minded, but he doesn't really enjoy the spotlight, so I think he would fall into a sidekick roll. Keev is good for tagging along and observing, then bouncing ideas off of others, but he doesn't have a lot of faith in his ability to read people, so I don't think he would want to be the main detective accusing anyone of anything.

Ardezo:

What media does your character enjoy? (For characters in settings that aren’t modern Earth, could be media from their home setting or what they’d like in a modern Earth AU)

He likes reading in his main setting (ayyyyy Faerun)- lots of books and scrolls and music (Not too much exciting stuff when you live in a dragon death temple, though there's lots of access and contact with the Underdark, so maybe drow parties lol). In a more modern earth type setting, he'd probably be REALLY into things like Lockpicking Lawyer, Fascinating Horror, REALLY love audio books so he can listen to books while he works on stuff (different poisons or toxins, maybe histories of how to use that). He'd be REALLY into practical special effects and honesty probably be fascinated by fursuiters. (He's not ashamed by any stretch, about his scales, but he's a little annoyed he can't display or hide them with easy like his siblings can, so sfx transformations would be his sh-t lol)

Edelweiss:

Was your OC influenced or inspired by any particular fictional character(s) when you made them?

Not particularly for Edelweiss! My main influence for him was making the cutest, most pastel and fluffy looking murderb-bard~ (who's going to suspect the airhead who dresses in pinks and gold of being a hag-blooded college of whispers bard~?)

What type of Avatar The Last Airbender-type bender (or non-bender) would your OC be? Any bending specialties?

So lesse.... Ironically for my dumb drow and vampire, I think Hasr'Thal and Lazarus are probably fire benders. They're both aggressive and driven (to different degrees) and while Hasr'Thal prefers to use his spells to assist the others in his party more than directly fight, his personal beliefs are rooted in passion and ruthless motion forward. Lazarus is more straightforward- he's a monk, he's fast, violent, and gives into his base instincts probably too much, and he is GARBAGE at defense.

Keev and Edelweiss (despite being a direct blood descendant of an ICE hag) are probably air benders- Keev tries SO hard to be a pacifist and focuses his spell choices on things like slow or haste, with abjuration thrown in, he hits hard WHEN he does, but he focuses far more on evasion. Edelweiss is a bit more bombastic, but he's been flighty and nomadic almost his whole life, blowing in and out of town on a whim. His spells (outside of his innate ice abilities) are mainly focused on causing fear, listening to things unseen, and spying. An argument could be made for waterbending but tbh that's a bit clichéd?

Who WOULD be a waterbender would be Fion (boy's probably a little TOO into bloodbending, honestly- he's dancing way too close to taboo spirit work right now and then there's all the murder...) Ardezo is also probably a waterbender- tempted to say he might be a non-bender, with his complex about ONLY being a draconic sorcerer when his siblings are half dragons, but he IS still very magic and his style is very "hang back, don't be seen, poison or strike when they're distracted" and he worships a dual God of death and undeath, so fluidity in all things are his motto

I was never really into MLP so these might be funky.... Hasr'Thal has an ouroboros (He's mad about it but that's what you get when you want to end the cycle of violence with an act of incredible violence) Lazarus might not HAVE one yet, or it just recently showed up, as a red vine climbing into stars. Keev has maybe a pie, or a simple hearth (bc despite being an adventurer, all he wants is to be a baker). Edelweiss also probably had a late.... branding?? But it's a storm cloud ;3c Ardezo just wants to have stronger dragon blood so baaaaaad that his is probably just a shadow dragon silhouette lol

LMAO almost all of them are! BUT we've done games inside games or thought about it before so I can answer what class they would PLAY in addition to what they are lol

Keev- He's a shadow sorcerer (with a few levels in abjuration wizard) and also a forever DM when he ran it IC, but if he were to make an idealized version of himself, he would be a Paladin of Devotion - though he wouldn't draw his power from a God, just faith in other people

Lazarus- Shadow monk! We did a one-shot where I DM'd as Laz but he would make an assassin rogue (because he's a cool edgy boy~)

Hasr'Thal- Warlock, mainly pacted with an archfey but he kinda maybe made a second pact with the Void that desires the heat death of the universe oops??? If he made a character it would be an INSUFFERABLE wizard because he's definitely not bitter at ALL about not getting to finish schooling to become one himself.

Edelweiss is, as listed above, a College of Whispers bard, and would probably play the same in a game, though he might play a "nicer" college (and maybe not use a fey type race)

Ardezo- draconic sorcerer~ (shadow dragon lineage- NOT a black dragon thank you very much) He might play around with rolling up a rogue, but he'd multiclass bc I think he would miss the magic lol

regan’s mother was never the type to settle down. before meeting morpheus, her longest relationship had been three months. so when the guy seemed commitment-phobic, that was perfect for her. until, of course, she found out she was pregnant. she didn’t want to get married but she was at an age where the idea of motherhood...didn’t repulse her. so she wanted to keep the baby, at which point the father of her child didn’t get down on one knee, he started to explain the kinds of responsibilities she’d face as the mother of his child.

having the child of a god in her womb inflated her ego, which was pretty impressive considering how big it already was. see, regan’s mother was a southern belle without any of the class or manners. she’d breezed through the pageant circuit as a teen, winning a number of titles with minimal effort. her talent was essentially crying on demand and looking pretty while doing it. knowing she’d slept with a god, like an honest to...god felt sort of fitting. like, duh, who else would she have her first child with?

this also led to a brief but intense fixation with shakespeare, who name dropped gods like it was his job, which led to her choosing the name regan from king lear.

she moved to pennsylvania with regan when her daughter was only four years old, because some guy practically begged her to let him take care of her, and she had nowhere better to go. until, eventually, she did, thanks to the world of avon. her mother started selling out of boredom but then it turned out she was good at it, so good that she could easily buy a place once she got bored of her rich boyfriend, and move out with regan.

thankfully, her mother got out of the pyramid scheme before she got in too deep. she was hired by an actual, reputable cosmetics company and given a desk job to work in sales, which she was still a natural at. because she had a full time job now, regan spent a lot of time with nannies...and that’s nannies plural because regan was one of those kids who drove her caretakers to quit on a regular basis.

but not because she was a handful. she was pretty self-sufficient, actually, and totally well-behaved, she was just kind of...weird. she’d leave her room for dinner with all of her clothes suddenly on backwards and say nothing as if it was normal and act confused when her nanny asked about it. she’d stare at the tv when it was off, she’d spend one day only speaking in whispers, she’d write vaguely threatening messages on the mirror with her mother’s red lipstick.

all of this was because regan knew it was scary to adults, which made it fun for her. she wasn’t, like, actually disturbed. well, aside from the dreams she had sometimes. she’d have a dream about a baby bird falling from a nest, she’d watch its chest move for minutes before it died, then she’d wake up the next day and find a dead bird outside the sliding glass doors to the backyard.

for a while she thought they were coincidences. then she thought she was making things happen in her sleep, and that it was her job to stop bad things from happening, to save every baby bird that asked for help in her dreams. it took her a few years to accept that just because she sometimes saw the future didn’t mean she had any power to change it. she was warned so she could prepare herself, which only made her feel more powerless.

but being regan, she chose to cope with this aspect of her life with avoidance and humor. she doesn’t want to pick and choose what she worries about and what she doesn’t, so she decided a long time ago not to take anything seriously.

for reasons unknown, regan’s mother actually decided to have another child after regan. but she was unconventional, too, hence regan being...the way she is, so she never actually married the father of regan’s half-brother, but they have been together for the past 15 years, so.

her brother is eleven years younger than she is, so in regan’s mind, a baby. whenever left with the task of babysitting him while the two were growing up, it would be regan who suggested ice cream for breakfast and sock sliding around the living room at dangerous speeds.

Alright! Like I promised! Below the cut are the pictures of the cute little rancher house that I’ve been working on and will eventually have Gyro and Johnny live in. It’s made with the Sims 4:

Here is what the lot looks like during all four time modes (morning, day, evening, and night):

I constructed it with rural Arizona in 1890 in mind. It’s a rancher, which has just one floor, with a stable and lots of yard space. Let’s take a deeper look!

Here’s a front view. There’s a little deck surrounding the house but no stairs because it has to be wheelchair-accessible for Johnny, and I don’t think Maxis/EA introduced ramps. There’s bench and a small patio table for when Johnny and Gyro wanna sit out in the evening and just watch the world go by. Oh! and I wanted to make this lot fully functional off-the-grid, so the little lantern there was actually suspended to “hang” from a wooden peg or whatever it’s called lol. I used the “9″ key to make that happen as well as bb.moveobjects on cheat. I can still illuminate the outside without using electricity.

So, through the front door, there’s immediately the kitchen area, dining room and general entry way. It’s a small home so I tried to make it look kinda homey, kinda lived in, and of course country-themed! There are herbs, and tea, and a coffee set on the counter, a chalkboard for things they need to buy, and a sink that, yet, will function off of the grid. I figured that Gyro would do most of the cooking, and they would take turns making coffee and tea. The double-door there in the last picture leads to the backyard. Oh, and the shelves contain all these little cute knicknacks I thought they might use to spruce up the place. And yes, Gyro displayed one of his teddy bears on the top shelf there in the last pic.

Connected to the entry room, there is another sitting room/gaming room. I have in here the don’t wake the llama table and chessboard, a few candles for light, and a couple of tapestries and pictures that give that “old west” kinda feel. Most of the windows here are open since it gets hot in Arizona.

The bathroom. I was debating if I wanted to have an outhouse for this lot, but eeeeeehhhhhhhh nah. I’ll just make a small bathroom instead. The light source here is that oil lamp I thought was cute to include because it gives off this spa theme, and the rest is self-explanatory.

The bedroom! It’s a modest-sized bedroom. There’s a desk that Gyro would mostly use as well as a skeleton that he uses to study the human body and bones and totally tried to convince Johnny to keep. And those teddy bears, oh my goodness. He couldn’t get rid of them, so there’s that. You might notice some, uh, *wicked* items in this room lmao. For example, there’s a box of condoms on the dresser there as well as one packaged condom on the nightstand. Hey, they’re horny guys in canon so ofc they get it on every now and again safely. And I liked the idea of having a sunflower theme through this house and so included pictures of sunflowers and nature throughout the room. I think it would be more apparent once I show you the outside.

THE BACKYARD!!!! This took me I think the most time to get right. Sort of. I was playing around with the grass and the terrain for the longest time because I was going for this desert savannah sort of thing. I still wanted to include a shady spot where Gyro and Johnny can sit out of the sun, so I included a bench underneath the trees. The bunny there is supposed to be a reference to Tusk act 1 lol.

The little stable barn is over there not too far from the house, and I included a deck around with a picnic table just so that they can eat outside when they want. I also included lots of flora to liven up the place. I think it looks quite nice!

The stable. There’s not much here. A wood carving table and two pens for Valkyrie and Slow Dancer. Unfortunately, the Sims 4 didn’t include horses, so uuuuhhhh the horses look like that. I may download that one mod that includes rideable horses in the future to make it marginally better.

The garden at night! I thought the lanterns made everything look romantic. And yes, there’s a dartboard outside for extra entertainment.

More pics at night! It looks quite quaint. The candles lighting the interior don’t brighten everything too much, so it encourages everyone to go to sleep a little sooner so the morning light can illuminate their way.
