What's your biggest complaint about any of your fandoms?

This question felt so random, but not like a bad way! 😆

Because ooh! I just known there's probably gonna be a long response to this. I apologize beforehand. I tend to get way into what I'm talking about and sometimes I feel I'm too wordy, if that makes sense?

But to answer your question! There are quite a bit of things that I can say I just hate about any of the fandoms, so the first one to come to my mind is complaining (your question has inspired me).

Now, I don't expect everyone to be all jolly and smiling and nice, I myself am not always optimistic about some things. I don't expect everyone to be satisfied with something and I do think everyone has every right to voice their complaint. Be it on a trope they don't like in fanfiction or maybe an episode of their favorite show was garbage.

Go ahead and complain! I encourage to get feelings out, good or bad.

What bothers me is how some people go about when they want to complain about something.

Some people choose inappropriate times to bring up something, driving the attention away from the initial topic. It's especially bad when the "rebuttal" is just someone wanting to debate and be competitive, for no reason.

Example, I'll use Disney, let's say someone posts how they hated how Tiana went through in her story. They don't bring up any of the other Disney Princesses, they just stay on the topic of Tiana. But then some asshole will probably go "but this princess had it worse"!

That right there was just an asshole move to me. If you feel another Princess had it worse, okay... but rant about it on your own post. It was just so unnecessary to bring up some other character's hardships as if to compete. That first person wasn't looking for a debate, just voicing their dislike about something. They didn't undermine the other Princesses. They were just saying how they didn't like what Tiana went through.

What I also hate about this? Tiana is a black character. Some people tend to want to drive away the attention of black characters (and other characters of color) and pull a "it wasn't that bad, stop whining" kind of attitude. Smells like... racism. (I love the music, Tiana is one of my #1s of Disney Princesses, the characters were good, and I did have laughs. But I gotta admit I hated the plot of that movie as well as the title.)

Other than "competitive" people, I hate ones who tend to bombard a post just to be an asshole, just to be a hater, a maybe even a troll wanting to start drama. Let me use BNHA, for this next example.

Another pet peeve of mine is ship wars. I hate ship wars and I will happily post my reasons as to why if anyone wants me to. I bring up ship wars because I'm talking about ships next.

Now, recently I got someone to reply on one of my posts I wrote so long ago about Uraraka and how her "crush" on Izuku isn't her whole personality and I hate it when other people seem to only remember that part of her. Reading my post no where did I bring BakuDeku or any other ship that song IzuOcha.

The reply someone put on there said "I completely agree, yet everyone seems to make BkDk stuff rather than IzuOcha".

I remind you again, my post was about Uraraka's personality and her crush. Not once did I bring up BakuDeku or even tagged with the ship. Also, in that post, I didn't even bring up anything about fan works.

See the problem? That person wanted to drag a ship, start some drama on an unrelated post. First, they played "nice" by agreeing with me. Something some people do. They're be "nice" just to cover up the fact they want to cause trouble and bring discourse.

If that person agreed with me, they could have left it at that. If they wanted to drag BakuDeku, they could have made their own post about it. And what pisses me off about that comment was just the possibility of that person bringing unwanted, unrelated discussions on my post. What if a BakuDeku shipper saw that and decided to go back and forth with that?

Another thing, and this ties in to what else I Jane about people complaining, is what else this person did.

They brought up "people seem to make more content for BakuDeku". Well, duh. They're a popular ship but this is what got me as someone who creates.

They stated that as if no one or little people make IzuOcha content.

I have gotten more IzuOcha art in the past two weeks or so than any BakuDeku art just because I follow the main tags for the characters and the fandom. I don't even follow the ship tag but somehow managed to get fanart if that ship. Active and recent art, mind you.

SO THERE PEOPLE WHO STILL WRITE AND DRAW FOR IZUOCHA.

It drives me nuts when people, and I feel like non-creatives do this, will whine about the lack of creative work and art for a ship and yet be the same people who do things that drives potential shippers who do have the talent away. Makes me want to scream when it's for fairly popular ships.

(Imagine being people who have to write fics and draw art for their rarepairs. *points to me* Right now, my OTP is two female characters who aren't all that popular.)

Instead of complaining on other people's post, how about you REBLOG THE ART?! COMMENT ON THE DAMN FICS?! OR GET TO TYPING AND WRITING YOUR OWN?!

"But I can't write, I can't draw". How do you think the rest of us started?! By trying. None of us were experts in two minutes. Takes practice, trial and error! Can't do that? Then be supportive of those who did try and continued on.

romantic is not done so I'll do a mix of romantic & platonic to keep it interesting. also the perfectionist in me hates the odd numbers so I only did four pairings but technically there’s five types. it needs to be even!

platonic — dekuiida. okay okay I absolutely loved how much of a part Iida played in getting Izuku to come back to UA in the vigilante arc. Iida is so, so important to Izuku & everyone loves to look over the fact that Iida is one of Izuku’s best friends. give me besties!!

romantic — tododeku. tbh I just really want them both to be happy & the series does such a good job of showing how important Izuku & his words are to Shouto, how he continues to be someone whose opinion Shouto values. they’re such a fun little pair & have this very nice connection that I like exploring.

platonic — izuocha. I’m not a big fan of them romantically but even I can’t deny that Ochako is important to Izuku & vice versa. they have the potential to be just the absolute best of friends, like I fully think that Ochako is a friend-for-life kinda girl for Izuku and knows how to tell it to him straight.

romantic & platonic — bakudeku. I didn’t start the series wanting anything to do with bakudeku, romantically or platonically, but fuck, has this series made me realize how stupidly fucking precious they are to each other. I never get tired of seeing all the ways Izuku & Katsuki can continue being the people who can never separate. Izuku & Katsuki are so intertwined that they’re clearly always going to be together no matter what their shape they take & I am HERE FOR IT.

There's an answer to your question, hopeymchope, but it's not a very pleasant answer: in pop culture fandoms, people do not make moral judgments based on convictions, like you do. They make judgments based on "agendas and personal tastes", so the goal of fandom morality is to "push their tastes on others". Example: Yaoi shippers hate traditional romance, so they "rewrite morality so cruelty is good, and kindness is bad", so they can force male characters into relationships with their tormentors.

I guess I'll start with replying to the contents herein before I talk about how they relate to the previous post.

Firstly, I don't know that I agree with your assessment that people are forcing their tastes onto others. I mean, we can all associate with only like-minded people easily enough on the Internet. Why would you start up a "ship war" when you can just hang out with people who love the same ships that you do? Sure, there are still some hardcore shippers who go around picking fights — I still get anti-Naegiri anger sent my way sporadically — but that's clearly the minority.

Although, as nice as that option for self-isolating is for fandom spaces, it's also a big part of what's driving America rapidly towards its collapse these days. The fact that nobody learns from being exposed to anybody else's viewpoints. Everyone lives in an echo chamber now. Taking that self-isolation from fandom and extending it into political and moral spaces has made people increasingly extreme.

But I digress. The idea that people are making their moral judgments on fictional characters based on their personal tastes? That part definitely rings true. I believe that if a character is aesthetically pleasing to someone, they have a much higher chance of trying to embrace them regardless of who they really are as a character. The same thing goes for relationship tastes. If you're hardcore into yaoi, you're going to see potential for it in places others might not. Or you might embrace relationships that seem downright unlikely to others.

But ultimately, do I think all this stuff is the secret reason why people ship characters who hate each other? Mmm... I don't know that it is. I mean, it's probably PART of it — one of the biggest contingent of shippers in fandom has always been slash fans, and they'll try to hunt for their sauce wherever they can find it. But I feel there's a deeper issue at the root: There's long been this school of thought that there's a thin line between love and hate — the same mindset that says "that boy is bullying that girl because he secretly likes her." Personally? I don't understand that OR think it's even ok to buy into that. It feels very outdated to me and feeds into extremely unhealthy relationships. But it's obviously there for all these people who see characters that openly disdain each other as secretly harboring desire for each other. It's maybe the most common ship trope in fandom! Which WORRIES me!

For example: What's the most popular ship for BNHA/My Hero Academia on AO3? Why, it's BakuDeku! Y'know, the ship between an obvious abuser and his victim?!?! Bakugo literally tried to goad Deku into fucking killing himself, has unresolved rage issues that he can't turn off, and now people think he's hot and they should hook up. That is UNSETTLING.

Please, y'all: Do NOT go through life being attracted to people with anger issues or ESPECIALLY not to people who treat you like crap. I am begging you.

ah, i meant bakudeku just as bakugou and deku in that exactly bakudeku moment, so, i know that your art is of them but they feel a little different from how the canon characters feel to me so... hm, idk. obviously it is all personal interpretations, and i totally agree that that‘s like the point :D or one of them lol? it‘s at least super fun, and i think it‘s cool that people branch out like they do as well, watching the same source material but taking away different things from it and idealizing it in different ways for how they‘d want things to be. saying bakudeku really didn‘t make sense in that moment; that refers to the ship. sorry for the confusion!

ohh ok! so basically what i'm hearing is that u like bkdk but in the context of mostly fan art (with all of its fan interpretations), not in the actual series? bc if so that's understandable too — fan content will always dramatize a relationship more than what's present in canon and might make it seem more appealing LOL

haha i have no problem with ppl not liking bkdk as a ship or choosing not to ship it for any particular reason, so no worries! i know lots of bkdks can get pretty territorial over their ship tho, so for ur best interest, i'd recommend not going up to random bkdk artists and talking about krbk out of nowhere ^^' i've met a staggering amount of bkdks who don't like krbk at all (the same way i've met lots of krbks who hate bkdk) so probably best to make sure the bkdk is ok with other ships including bkg and deku. it's smart to play it safe — this fandom is already barely keeping it together with ship discourses and i wouldn't want u caught in the crossfire ( ；´Д｀)

despite the severe amount of bkdk i draw, i am a multishipper, so i don't particularly take much offense to these anon asks. as long as u don't come in slandering what i like then u're good lol. i have few notps so it'd always be nice to see more interactions between characters in the manga :') canon krbk has been pretty dry for ... maybe around 2 years now? oh god. which sucks, but hopefully they'll get some stuff soon !!! rooting for u and ur fellow krbks !!!

and u can read the manga online! i used to use bokunoheromanga.com, but it seems to have trouble with showing older chapter pages — or maybe it's just me. now i just use VIZ for every new update but there are definitely sites dedicated to posting the mha manga chapters whenever they come out! (i only buy certain volumes if they have specific arcs or scenes i like lol)

SOMEONE in this fandom desperately NEEDS to be called out. And since APPARENTLY no one has done so yet, I shall take much needed matters into my OWN hands, because I am feeling passionate right about fucking now.

KIRIMINA SHIPPERS ARE THE BIGGEST HYPOCRITES I HAVE EVER SEEN

Before you think I’m being another “crazy KiriBaku/fujoshi” and a “toxic fan”, just listen.

Before I go into this, let me make a disclaimer. I know not all KiriMinas are Anti-KiriBakus and vice-versa but most are, it’s usually just the case in situations like this. Now, let’s get started.

Reason #1- Saving

You remember that infamous hand-holding scene? Y’know the rescue? The VERY birth of KiriBaku?

Yes? Well, do you also remember how hyped us KiriBakus were, how hard we shipped them together, and how we hoped it was a nod to them being canon?

I have seen comments…of YouTube videos of that scene were KiriBaku shippers are gushing about that scene and then an Anti/possible KiriMina tells them this-

Again, the usual. And I hate to say this but they’re kind of right. That rescue was platonic, sure- It could have romantic implications with the whole “It has to be you Kirishima” nonsense and what not, but even then it’s ship-worthy at best. So I don’t blame them, we KiriBakus have other evidence anyways.

BUT THEN-

They do THIS-

You remember that (MANGA SPOILERS) manga scene were Kirishima saved Mina?

That’s all he did. Was save her in battle, like any other character would for any other because dammit this is my HERO academia. HERO. Ya know…saving people? Your friends out of the goodness of your heart? It’s his job to save her, and he cares about her life. Not because he loves her, there was no romantic implication behind that. Now THAT was “just looking out for a friend”.

But did you read what I just wrote? KIRIMINAS told us we’re ridiculous for thinking saving someone makes something canon, and then they go ahead and do the exact same thing, but worse.

I mean- At LEAST with the rescue scene it was this huge deal, with Kirishima worrying for Bakugo so much I even think he couldn’t sleep, if I remember. He was certain to get Bakugo back, do no matter what. And yes, that is platonic- But then Midoryia over here has to go give a speech on why “It has to be Kirishima” and that Bakugo only will let himself be rescued by him. It’s a huge development for both of them because Kirishima finally gets to be strong and save his friend like he’s wanted since middle school, finds value in himself. While Bakugo, by putting his trust in Kirishima, learns to find value in others. It’s a healthy foundation for a relationship, and although “solely platonic” CAN be looked at BOTH ways. But Kirishima saving Mina, no matter WHAT heteronormativity says IS completely platonic. Guaranteed, it is very cute and ship-worthy, but it no means canon-nizes anything. Also, I do not think the rescue scene makes KiriBaku canon either, I’m just saying it’s hypocritical.

Reason #2 - Inspiration

Oh god I could almost LAUGH at this one. The scene were Kirishima locked UNBREAKABLE. Thanks to Bakugo’s motivational words.

According to them, that wasn’t an excuse to ship them. Because, and I quote,

“So, Friends can’t inspire each other without being shipped? 🤨”

That’s RICH

For anyone who doesn’t know, from what I have heard at least- THE reason KiriMinas ship KiriMina, AND believe it has a chance, the very thing they LIVE on is the fact that, and AGAIN I QUOTE-

“Mina inspired Kirishima, so it could be canon!”

Straight shippers, heteronormativity isn’t a thing- Either your ship is canon or it’s not- And gay ships, no matter how many aren’t that bad. favorite thing about them: dhjdkdajh how do i choose??? it's a well known fact how much i adore katsuki. for one, i think his determination and insistence on total victory is just so inspiring. his absolute certainty that he will succeed is something i've always admired about people irl bc i am not a confident individual myself. it's incredible to see others who are so assured and strong!! (also. i love me some hard shell, gooey center kind of motherfuckers, and that gremlin fits the bill extremely well.)

least favorite thing about them: hm. this is a hard one as well. i love how complex his character is so there are so many flaws of his that i find fascinating. maybe how he refuses help/has to do things himself? (at least earlier on in his development). it's not something i dislike about him, i just want him to be able to heal and grow and i'm glad that he's starting to understand (through seeing it happen to deku) that he can't go it alone. <3

favorite line: oh god, there are so many i could choose, especially from the recent chapters. but the one that comes to mind immediately is an old one that gives me shivers every time: "But at that moment, without thinking, my body simply moved on its own".

brOTP: i love the bakusquad interactions! going on hikes and training with kiri (honestly i love their broship so much!!! they're cute romantically too but i just adore some guys bein' dudes as well), playing video games with kaminari (kami's actually really good and he and baku team up to wipe the floor with randos online), picking up some comics to read with sero (this seems like a random thing but sero would totally mention he liked some of the manga/comics on baku's shelf and invite him all chill), shopping with mina (he would say he hates it but he lowkey loves helping her pick things out and dress up but if you tell anyone about it you're fucking DEAD). also. having a broship with ururaka is one of my favorite headcanons. (they train quirkless until they're both beat the hell up and then go get bubble tea) <3

So first, I am in a relationship! I’m a happily married 24-year-old woman, who got hitched to my college sweetheart. He is easily the softest, nerdiest, and kindest man on the planet. The most unsafe it has ever been is the time I stubbed my toe and it broke my nail. He was trying to chase me around our house because I couldn’t get him to stop tickling me lol.

There are a few reasons I ship them, but I want to start off by saying that I don’t think they could be a healthy couple the way they are now. They both desperately deserve safer environments and therapy for healing.

Next, I don’t think it’s abusive. I think painting it abusive does a disservice to both of them, but I think it’s unfair to Izuku especially. Generally, not always, I think people who see it as abusive see Izuku as this poor baby victim. But he is so much more than that.

He supports the hell out of Katsuki, and he’s acknowledged his shitty behavior without painting him as this evil, toxic, or abusive guy. I think that right there is a huge argument for why it’s not abusive. Obviously there are lots of behaviors an abuse victim can exhibit, but I see none of them in Izuku.

Alright, so on to why I ship them!! First, I think Izuku is truly the only person Katsuki can show any vulnerable emotions around. Even to his squad he puts up his agressive front. I ship him with several squad members (Kiri and Kami), but in canon he still hasn’t really been vulnerable with them. Obviously the vulnerability could be great for friendship too, but I like the dynamic as a romantic couple too.

Another reason I ship them, is because I really believe that with enough work, anyone can change for the better. And I love watching Katsuki change and grow as he finally gets into an environment with better adults and better peers. I think Izuku is a catalyst for a lot of it as Katsuki realizes Zuzu’s physical, emotional, and interpersonal strengths.

Next, I think both really and truly need to be challenged. And I think some of the best people to do that for them, is each other. I ship TodoDeku and I ship KiriBaku and loads of other pairings for both of them. But I think to really be challenged, they need each other. I think Katsuki challenges Izuku to be stronger and more confident, and I think Izuku challenges Katsuki to question who he is and what his motivations truly are and should be.

Another reason, and this is sorta just me being silly, but there is so much great BakuDeku fan content. I think people really limit themselves because there is so much BakuDeku fanfiction and fan art out there that are amazing. I mean, there are tons and tons of amazing works out there that show beautiful redemption stories or alternate universes that people are missing out on. If anyone is interested, I’m happy to recommend some.

When it comes down to it, I really just believe that after growth and therapy. They could be amazing together, and I’m not going to deny any of the student characters the ability to change and grow, even Katsuki.

Last thing, be careful what you say to people. I know you were polite, but questioning my marriage based on a fictional ship of a couple of teenagers was probably a bad call.

So, here’s the thing!

I am an old shipper, I’ve started as a kid with drarry and luneville, since “Harry Potter” fandom (years ago, when I didn’t even knew such a word as “fandom”) was the first one for me. And I was always open to almost every type of ship. Heterosexual, homosexual, both are great, and I never once said that “hetero” is boring or “homo” is better, because it was always about the characters who were shipped with each other. They made hetero or homo ship great, not the fact that they were hetero or homo.

But I also have to say, when I was younger (like in 13-17y old) I shipped characters like a crazy, and much more than I do now.

Why I’m ranting about this? Well, some of you may know this, buuuut I’m kinda in love in “Boku no hero academia”.

And I have to say that I’ve noticed that my kind of shipping have... Evolved. Or at least, changed.

I mean, even from 2007 till now, my biggiest ship overall is MasaGuren (Masahiro and Guren from “Shounen Onmyouji”) but it always was about how they cherish each other more like how they would fck each other, because... hell, I don’t believe that Guren would be able to hurt Masahiro even a lilttle, and also I believe that he would bluescreened if Masahiro would kiss him. So it was always for me about how close and loyal they were to each other than sexual thing.

I won’t say that sex is bad, because it’s not! I’m just saying that sometimes there’s NO NEED for that. Because if there are two interesting characters who have huge chemistry with each other, and are great while bantering or doing missions or just chilling around, it’s actually enough for me.

And this is the moment when I have said to myself: Hey, shipping friendship is the best. Because, for me, to write a complex friendship is harder to do than romance. And interesting and good romance is also not something that’s easy to write.

Why I’m speaking about this?

Well, I have to say, while I LOVE bnha, I’m not a huge fan of the ships. Why? Because it’s MOSTLY oversexual (like, “dekubowl”, and GOD, I have nighmares after bnha’s omegaverse fics), and while I understand the fics when the kids are older than they are now, I also have problem imagining them obsessed with sex all the time, and like, most of the fics and drawings are overloaded with it.

Now to calm down people: I’m not saying “stop”, because:

a) it won’t work anyway

b) there are a lot of fans of those and who I am to judge or to speak to someone what he should like or not

c) I think my fanfictions when I was a kid were worse.

d) when I don’t like something, I can block the tag (but it’s sad sometimes, because I actually do LOVE bakudeku tag because of the meta’s and the points that people have about their developing friendship)

and last one, e) this is tumblr, things always will be a lil sick here and a lil crazy. Because if someone want’s to ship Izuku, who’s faun fairy with glitter eyes and rainbow that is everywhere where he is, who’s in love with half dolphin-half dragon Todoroki who’s in the same moment masterlord of destruction, well, you can ship it, right?

What I’m doing here is not about “don’t do <that>, do <that>”, I’m just... writing what I’m thinking about all of that, because you know. I can.

I can say that I don’t understand the drawings where Kirishima is a loli, because he’s manly young man for me (but I get that this can be a joke). I don’t understand and I don’t like how in almost every “Deku” ship, Izuku is a weak lady in a shape of a unmanly man, when in canon he’s a strong, manly boy, who’s far from being a typical uke from 80s and 90s (still I agree that he’s cute. Feral destruction in a shape of a boy, but cute). I can say that I don’t like when Dadzawa is shipped with kids from his class (because it’s w r o n g, for me) or just... with kids.

BUT STILL I don’t hate the ships. I may not like some of them, but it’s actually not hate (I mean I have a disgust for sexual ship adult x child, but that’s something else, really, let me speak about same-age pairings), and I have ZERO problems with people who have their ships, that may be not the ones I like, because really, as long as someone is not hurting anyone, I have no problem. And seriously, the fact that someone’s in love with kiribaku doesn’t hurts me.

Maybe let me just explain why I don’t like “tododeku” and “kiribaku” ships, ‘kay?

Well, first of all, there’s a huge thing that connects them. Both are “bro-ships” that went in fandom too far. I mean, it’s not surprising that when there are two friends, fujoshi have something like enlightenment in their life. Huge “hallelujah” in their heads etc. but I have to say, when I see that character “A” needs an equal friend by his side, and character “B” is exactly this character, and they help each other to be the better person and have a good, healthy, rival-like relationship, I... don’t really imagine them together in bed doing thigs out from kamasutra. It’s about what I’ve said earlier. Writing a friendship is a lot harder than romance. Because, you know, everything can be a romance in a snap. Will it be good? Well, that’s debatable, but it’ll be a romance. When I’m thinking about Kirishima and Bakugou, I think about what they both NEED, and what Katsuki needs is someone that’s not afraid of him, looks at him like a normal person, and can say to his face that he messed up, or can laugh at him for his stupid hair. Kirishima’s a strong, loyal friend, and I love how he express his loyalty not only to Bakugou, but also to Midoriya and other of his friends. I never for once thought, that his relationship with anyone may be or is sexual, because noone from those characters is even focused on romantic-relationship-theme. We had this topic with Ochaco, but THERE’S ALSO a point I want to pick up. Ochaco decided, that she want’s to be a great hero and wants to focus on her career, so she thinks mostly about how to be a better hero, not about how to bang Izuku in the classroom. And the same is for almost every other characer. The only ones who actually may dream about getting laid equally as much as to become a top hero, are actually Kaminari and Mineta. I also don’t like the fact that in fandom Kirishima’s lately like a “fckboy”, like really, I don’t undertand why.

When it comes to “tododeku”, There’s the thing. Todoroki is a dog. AND BEFORE SOMEONE KILLS ME, IT’S NOT AN INSULT, I want to dare ya’ll:

Tell me which creature in the world is more loyal than a dog. I DARE YOU.

Because how Kirishima’s mainly manly (*drops microphone*), Todoroki is mainly loyal, and it shows. He’s always on Izuku’s (and his other friends) side, always follow his plans, always ready to help and to listen, even if he’s mostly blunt about all the things. And still I don’t think that how to get laid is what he’s thinking. I mean, he have a lot to do already. He wants to be number one hero, he wants to forgive his father, he wants to be a hero he always wanted to be, he wants to be stronger etc. and simply don’t have time for focusing as much about “how to do everything from kamasutra in one night”.

Well, I never said that having a relationship (not only romantic one, but all of them) is impossible when you’re focused on something else, it’s just... We never saw those characters focused AT ALL about their romance (I mean, Deku have a heart attack each time a girl is too close to him, and Todoroki may or may not have given Camie his tel-number when she asked for it), not to mention, about sex. And yet there we have, oversexual pairings like damn.

And I have to say, while I’m enjoying to check “bakudeku” tag or even “tododeku”, I have fear for anything Kirishima included, because fandom is with him so... saucy, that I’m like, well, “mmm whatcha saaaay”.

... And while I don’t really get the oversexual shipping, I have to say, I LOVE bro-shipping, that is FRIENDSHIP FEST, and kiribaku, tododeku, bakudeku, kiridenki are great. I love how those are developing and how good those characters are for each other.

Well, many of you may think: AND, FOR WHAT IS THIS POST?!

Well... for nothing? I mean, it’s mostly for me, because I wanted to say what I was thinking about all of this.

I am NOT a fan of shipping wars, I also don’t think that my opinion is the opinion of the world.

AoKuro (Kuroko No Basket)

Regrets (One shot) - Warning: Major Character Death. Kuroko remembers Middle School, his young love and the world of empty sympathy that stole his love away. 

 Can We Still Be Friends (Around 8 chapters not sure)- Warning: Depression, suicidal thought - Kuroko and Aomine didn’t see each other for two years after being thrown away from the team of Miracles . Everything change when while doing his shopping he spots Aomine’s mother who asks him if he maybe could visit her son in the mental hospital. 

Wish (4 chapters) -  Aomine was bored. Everything was boring. New team, new rivals. Boredom created his life, till one day he wakes up from his nap in a cat body. Just what the hell?! 

Chrisawa (Daiya No A) 

You Get My Love  (around 10 chapters not sure) Warning: Depression, Homophobia, yips - Sawamura tries hard to blend into a team, but everyone just reminds him that he isn’t needed. The only person that actually cares about him is his mentor- Chris. He still loud and stubborn to be an ace, but then yips happened and he just couldn’t win over this. So he goes back to Nagano feeling worse than ever. He failed everyone. But surprisingly his mentor still visits him making Sawamura’s heart do some weird backflips. 

Forget ur books (4 chapters).  Sawamura was cursed as a child for disrespecting minor god. Now every time he read book he can make it real around him. So his family reminds him to read in a closed house to not affect the city in this weird magic. But one day while Sawamura is reading some of the history book no one noticed that one of the windows is open, turning the city into a place where nothing is normal. Especially not these warriors with swords ready to cut anyone in their way. 

Mirror (2 chapters) Warning: Cheating, coming out. Chris is working a doctor busy with his carrier. He has a wife but their marriage isn’t happy.  But then one day to his clinic came a young boy (who wasn’t so young) who made his heart skip a bit with his smile and nice words. 

BakuDeku (Boku No Hero Academia) 

(Don’t comment how most of these fics have P!nk song as a title, her song are just A+ okay? xD)

Trapped Mind (5 chapters) Warning: Angst, Hurt, Addiction to drug, alcohol, sex, depression, suicidal attempt, memory lost.  Izuku fell into his own trap of being a perfect hero. Katsuki not wanting to see his friends being judged to death by being just human that can make mistakes, decide to play the bad guy and till Izuku won’t get his memories back. But this task is far harder than any mission he did so far. Being hated by everyone left him trapped in a dead-end. 

Who Am I (5 chapters) Warning: Toxic parental love, Memory lost, bullying, depression.  Izuku moves to USA as a child after his accident where he loses half of his right leg. His mother is warry of everyone in his surroundings, she doesn’t want him to go back to Japan and meet with a person she blames of being responsible for his accident. But Izuku is having enough of being trapped in her arms and want to find out who he is, who he was before his mother decided to create him as a weak man.

90 Days (4 chapters?) Warning: angst. Izuku always wanted to repair his friendship with Katsuki. Wanted to laugh with him, study, going out. But reality showed that it’s not possible. Katsuki found new friends, people he likes to hang out. Their second year in UA and Katsuki b-day was the last straw to kill his heart. Seeing his friend laughing with their classmates, not being bothered by all these hugs and photos. Izuku runs away to his dorm room to cry his eyes out. And decides to go over Kacchan by the end of 90 days.

Walk Me Home (6 chapters) Izuku has autism that prevents him from having normal life. His only friend is Katsuki who seems enoying spending his time with Deku. But hearing his mom talking to his dad about her fears of him not being able to function without their help, to even find a job since meeting with people often ends with him having a panic attack. He wants to change, he wants to show his mom and Katsuki that he can be a proper part of society. But for that, he needs Kacchan help. 

Secrets (10 chapters) Warning: Child abuse, Angst, pedophilia. Deku is a vocalist in Katsuki band with Kaminari, Tokoyami, Awase. Deku is the only person who can deal with Katsuki moods and can sing the song their drummer creates. Fans and media have their fun wondering what is the relationship between them. Deku also wonders what is his relationship with Kacchan and why he can’t sing his own songs. 

Happy (around 10 chapters) Warning: Soulmate, angst, depression. Izuku loves heroes even tho he wasn’t born with a quirk, but he don’t have time to dream since his family life isn’t so happy. His dad found his true soulmate and his mom lost her mind over broken heart since for her his dad was her soulmate. Izuku from his young days must watch out for his mom, and every day he prays to not find her dead when he returns home.  Even meeting All Might didn’t make him eager to focus in hero path. He refuse All Might to be a hero, he doesn’t have time and his mom would go crazy if he would left her side. Wanting to save Kacchan was just a short thought of ending his misery. But somehow Deku ends up in UA in GE curse. And soon he finds up that his Soulmate is Kirishima. He feels how his body is changing because of it thing he doesn’t realize that Katsuki isn’t happy to find out.

Silent Scream (5 chapters) Warnings: Bullying. Izuku has troubles with speaking, so his parents showed him sign langue which find out more fun and enjoyable. But soon fun times ends when he ends up with the same kindergarten as Katsuki who wants to make him speak no matter what.  Everything goes in the far worse direction the moment when Katsuki gets his quirk. Not being able to control his new ability he goes too far with the explosion that made Izuku lose his hearing in the left ear.  (okay so it;s “A Silent Voice” but in MHA AU xD) 

Hurt 2b Human (DUNNO) Warning: angst, war, A/B/O, death. They say that Alpha ones are people that were blessed by gods. Omega were fruits of sweet desire for happiness. Katsuki was an Alpha. Japanese Solider who gonna die in Death Chamber any moment. No one knows why Japan lost the war. The only thing he knows that Russia won and now he gonna die.  Or maybe there is a hope? 

Timebomb (12 chapters) Fantasy AU. Katsuki and Deku fights with the evil mistresses who seeing that she can lose to them decide to split them apart and send Izuku to a different dimension. Katsuki roar with the grief of losing his mate. He captures his enemy to only learn that she can't bring him back. There is no way he gonna see his Deku again. But he can’t give up. He asks Uraraka for help and she creates a necklace to send him to other worlds, tho it will be random... So there he is going through 10 worlds to find his mate and return home with him. 

Dream of the Death ( 5 chapters)  Warning: major character death. Katsuki has few regrets in life. The biggest is telling his friend to kill himself.  But then by villain attack he is sent to the past where Izuku is alive. Soon he realizes that whatever he says to Izuku doesn’t go through. So he changes his tacting and go to his younger self and please him to save Izuku. 

Bonus story: Ten Times where Izuku got hit by quirk and made Katsuki ask himself of his sexuality (10 chapters) 

Haikyuu!!

Different way of love (3 chapters) Warning: Angst, Homophobia, depression, suicide, dealing with lose.  Kuroo thinks he has nice life. Good friends, a lovely boyfriend, and a dog. Nothing to complain. Till in Sawamura’s life show up his first love and things go not the way Kuroo thought it would.  Sawamura is dealing with depression, love issues, and past that can't be really forgotten. Life isn’t an easy mission.

Neko Love (4 chapters) Warning: Abuse.  Yokai had it enough of being ruled by weak humans. They started a revolution against them and won. Now people are their slaves and taste how yokais felt when humans bullied them for ages. Kuroo is a nekomata. He loves living in Sawamura household. He supposed to leave or rule over his past masters but he can’t find a strength to abuse his young master.

Tengu’s Book (6 chapters) Warning: abuse. Kuroo has the worst luck in the world. He was born with these strange powers and thanks to them he can see yokais. Not very pleasant thing to see. People usually are wary of him and are afraid of his weird looks and muttering.  Kuroo is used to being alone. Till one day he meets a tengu who gives him an offer. He gonna be his bodyguard for finding his wings. What can go wrong?

Dragon’s Heart (5 chapters) Warning: Slight angst. Fantasy AU. Iwaizumi is a dragon rider but the thing is, he seems to not being able to bond with his dragon so after his school is destroyed by Demons he searches for beasts master Sawamura who was cursed by Demons to be able to talk with monsters and was thrown from society. Their meeting is awkward. Sawamura can’t really speak human langue since humans usually avoid him and Iwaizumi can’t deal with his responsibilities as a warrior. 

Your Heartbeats (one shot) part of my Soulmate AU. Warning: Homophobia. Kuroo meets Bokuto in middle school and for the first time in his short life can feel his heartbeat. Bokuto was looking at him with the same confusion and happiness. All good vibes ended five minutes later when another player commented on how gross they were and should cure this. But does being in love is a really bad thing? Even if it between the same gender? 

Let me be drunk for now (5 chapters) Publish AU created by @bringmemyqueen  I like this idea so I gonna write something in it. Daichi has enough of his work, of people in his work. Why he seems to attract only men? Doesn’t he deserve some nice lady waiting for him at home? So every night he goes to a bar to drink and forget about his coworkers. He doesn’t know that this nice guy who keeps talking to him while drinking his beer is an author who works under Oikawa. But Iwaizumi is nice and his hands are warm when he touches him.

Where is my fun (one shot) Kenma prefers to stay home and play his videogames. It is his day off, so he has plans of not going out all day. But his friend has a different idea and god. Kenma can’t refuse him.

Bad Guy (one shot) It all started as a simple admiration. Watching Sawamura in action gave him chills. Even his old captain didn;t made him feel this way. He wanted to be tamed by this plain captain so he went to Karasuno to just see the object of his obsession, no big plans for it. Then this weird duo was screaming to him to leave their Queen alone and he barely remembered that cute glasses girl he was focused at Karasuno’s Captain that looked at him with such intensity that Terushima wanted to crawl to him and beg for something he never wanted to do before.

In MHA I wish i could write for different pairing alone fics but it just didn’t click in with me to try it. I’m still try to figure out some characters so their appearing in my fic won’t be a total disaster. (I’m looking at you Inasa xD)

Steven Universe and My Hero Academia.

Man alive. This is going to be a big answer. I will start with Steven Universe

1. The first character I fell in love with: probably Amethyst

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Peridot. Fucking lime Dorito goblin. I love her. Also, more recent but Spinel. She is bapy

3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Does Mayor Dewey count? I don't think everyone lives him but I see people ship him with the mailman and I just don't care about former Mayor Dewey

4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Onion is a gremlin. I respect that.

5. The character I used to love but don't any More: I don't hate her. Not at all. I still think she is cool. However, I don't love Amethyst as much as I used to.

6. The character I would totally smooch: Lapis. Mysterious Woman comes close though, because like Pearl, I may have a type. I would probably smooch Amethyst as well.

7. The character I'd want to be like: there are several good characters. It feels creepy to say as I am an adult. But I want to be like Steven. That desire to help people and make up for past deeds alfrom someone else so familiar yet strange...I can sympathize with that. He and his dad...I can respect those dudes and kind of want to embody their more positive attributes. I also wouldn't mind being like Garnet because I live me some square mom. To embody love and be this strong yet caring and funny badass...yeah. I would like that.

8. The character I'd slap: every single diamond, bones in my hand be damned.

9. A pairing that I love: Garnet counts. Shut up

10. A pairing I despise: I don't despise it, but Lapis x Steven is just...they are friends and also Steven is a kid. I like their friendship as is and making it romantic like some fans have...is just yucko.

MHA next

1. The first character I fell in love with: I can't fully recall if they are the first, but Mina is just a delight, in terms of design and personality. She is adorable and I have enjoyed writing and drawing her.

In terms of characters I wanted to marry not long after seeing them, probably Rag doll. Tomoko is best woman.

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Half the characters I love. Setsuna Tokage is probably top of the list, despite barely getting anything to do.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: I don't really care much about Dabi and they are stretching out the "is he a Todoroki?" thing too long

4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Most if the characters I love either have a decent fan base or don't get much live at all. Can't think of one. Sorry

5. The character I used to love but don't any More: I still like Izuku quite a bit but I am not as enthusiastic about him anymore. I think writing with him a lot had a role to play in that.

6. The character I would totally smooch: Miruko, if she would let me. Barring that, Ragdoll

7. The character I'd want to be like: I am more like a mix of Eraserhead and Miss Joke, but I want to be like Ryukyu

8. The character I'd slap: All for One. I have a list and he us at the top

9. A pairing that I love: I have a list, mostly rare pairs, but if I have to pick one, probably Izumina. I feel I have drifted away a bit and it has no chance in canon, but it will always be close to my heart.

10. A pairing I despise: Please do not accuse me of being an anti or whatever. Feel free to ship it if you want. But I am not big on Bakudeku. The obvious reasons are obvious but it just doesn't seem like a good ship, especially with healthier alternatives, for me at least. Again, you do you, fam.

SO, my @bakudekuflowerexchange flower was the Red Camellia, which symbolizes Love, Passion, and Deep Desire. I decided to fucus more on the Love aspect with my fanfic, and this is for all BakuDeku fans ^..^ ~~~~~

I bit my lip in nervousness. I knew Kacchan normally didn’t like anything that could, as he once put it, ‘damage his reputation’. But, I wanted to tell him how much I loved him. It was so hard for me to put into words, because I had loved him my entire life. I took a deep breath, and opened Kacchan’s dorm room door. Good. He was still out. I quickly put the camellia on his desk, and ran out, shutting the door behind me. I hightailed it back to my dorm and, once I was safely inside, I took more deep breaths to settle my nerves.

“Alright. Which one of you put this damn flower in my room?!” Kacchan’s voice exploded through the dorm hall. He came into the main living area, crushing the camellia’s stem in his fist. My heart fell into the pit of my stomach. Did...Did he really hate it that much?

“Oooh, Bakugou’s got a secret admirer~” Kirishima teased.

“I do not, dammit! Shut up!” Bakugou yelled. He stormed off, carrying the camellia with him. I sighed softly. I’d just have to try harder, it seemed.

The next day, instead of one, I left two camellias on his desk. I’d keep adding one each day. I had to tell him how much I loved him, even though I was too afraid to tell him face to face.

I was considering adding different flowers to the mix, but the camellias held a place in my heart, especially red ones. Red camellias symbolized a lot. Love, passion, and deep desire. I was focusing more on the love aspect of the flower.

I quickly shook my head, and left Kacchan’s room again. I headed back to my room, wondering if I should start leaving notes with the flowers.

No. That wouldn’t work. Kacchan knew my handwriting. But, I was determined to keep giving him flowers. I sat at my desk and opened my laptop, and typed in what I needed. I got out a small card I had gotten back at the florists’ and started to write carefully. Once I was done, I closed my laptop, and went back to Kacchan’s room. I quickly went in, put the card next to the flowers, and just as I was leaving, I heard Kacchan enter the dorm building. I quickly left the room, and slammed it shut, running to the end of the hall. I watched from behind the corner as Kacchan went to his room. He shut the door. I kept my breath quiet, and even considered holding it. After a while, Kacchan left his room I bit my lip, and immediately hid behind the wall as I saw him coming my way. I ran down the stairs quickly and ran straight to my room. Once I was inside, I took a few more deep breaths. I heard a knock on my door, which made me shrink away in panic.

“Deku? Are you free?”

Uraraka.

I sighed in relief, and went back to my door and opened it.

“H-Hey Uraraka. What did you need?” I asked.

“I saw you coming out of the florist shop earlier. Were...Were you the one who gave that flower to Bakugou yesterday? I froze. Before I could say anything, Uraraka smiled. “I knew it. I’ve seen the ways you look at him Deku. You obviously really like him, but you don’t wanna tell him outright. Am I right?” Uraraka asked. I could only silently nod my head. “Maybe I could help you out. You know, be a wingwoman?” Uraraka giggled.

“U-Uraraka…! I...I would really like that, but….but, you don’t have t-to,” I said.

“Oh, I know I don’t have to, silly! I want to! Besides, you’ve helped me with a lot of things. I want to be able to help you! I know Bakugou knows your handwriting, but, maybe I could write the notes for you? Maybe he likes notes to go with the flowers, and why he was so angry yesterday?” Uraraka suggested.

“No, it wasn’t that. Kacchan just doesn’t like things that can damage his reputation. It’s why he got angry when Kirishima teased him about it when he stormed out. Kacchan’s like that a lot, but…” I trailed off, my voice becoming softer.

“It’s why you like him so much. You see it as part of his charm, don’t you?” Uraraka asked.

“Yeah. I do. I’ve known him forever, and it just grew to be something I loved about him,” I admitted.

“I completely understand. I think it really awesome how you can just fall in love with everything about someone. It’s...magical, if you ask me,” Uraraka smiled.

“Thanks, Uraraka. You’re really awesome,” I smiled.

“You’re welcome, Deku,” Uraraka said happily.

The next day, I dropped off three flowers in Kacchan’s room. I placed the note that Uraraka had written for me next to them. Taking another thing out that I had bought, maybe to make Kacchan less angry, I placed the small gift box next to the flowers, and quickly left the room. I had bought him a small flower vase with an open neck, so if he wanted, he could put the flowers I gave him in it.

That evening, when I saw Kacchan, I saw him carrying a small glass of water with him, and he went up the stairs. Quietly following him, I watched as he went into his room with it. After a small while, he came out, and the glass of water was empty. I felt my heart skip a beat.

Ever since Kirishima had teased him about it, Kacchan hadn’t brought the other flowers out. It made me a bit glad, though, knowing that  now he could keep them in his room quietly, without anyone finding out. I quietly went back down to the living area. I opened my notebook, and started to doodle silently. Kacchan soon passed by, gave me a glance, and rolled his eyes at me. I just gave him a soft smile, and he left the room.

The florist knew me by name, now. Every day, going in and buying more red camellias. I sighed softly. These flowers were the only way. I...I was still too shy about what Kacchan would say if I asked him outright. I went back to my room, and put my notebook away. I got into my pyjamas, and went to my bed.

There was a camellia laying on my pillow.

I picked it up. Did I forget one earlier? No, I was sure I had grabbed them all. Then, how did-

I looked  closer at the flower. The stem was absolutely crushed in one area. Was this….Was this the first camellia I had given to Kacchan? Wait! Did...Did he know somehow that I was the one who gave it to him?!

I put the camellia on my desk, got into bed, and laid down, but my mind was swimming with thoughts about the camellia and Kacchan.

I didn’t get much sleep that night.

When I woke up, I followed my daily routine. Going to the florist, buying the camellias, and heading back to the dorm room. Holding the four camellias, I went into Kacchan’s room, put them on his desk, and was just about to leave when the door opened, and Kacchan walked in. I froze. Kacchan and I locked eyes. Neither of us said anything nor moved. It seemed as if an eternity was passing. And then, Kacchan spoke.

“So. I was right in guessing who was giving these to me. Y’know, Deku, I looked up what those flowers were, and looked up their meaning,” Kacchan said.

“R-R-Really?” I said, swallowing hard. My throat was so dry.

“I get why you wanted to give me flowers and notes. You were afraid of what I would say, weren’t you?” he asked. Swallowing again, I nodded. Kacchan sighed, and looked away. He walked over to the desk, and picked up one of the camellias I had just left on there.

“Why camellias?” he asked.

“W-Well, you said that you looked up the m-meaning. Red camellias m-mean love,passion, and deep desire, s-so I thought I c-could focus on the ‘love’ aspect of it,” I said nervously. Kacchan turned to me, still holding the camellia. He walked to me, and brought my hand up, and took it, so we were both effectively holding up the flower. I took a deep breath, biting the bullet, and leaned forward, kissing him. Kacchan seemed shocked at first, but soon started to kiss back, wrapping his free arm around my waist, pulling me closer. After a while, we broke apart for air.

“Was that worth all the flowers you bought?” he asked.

“Much more,” I responded. Kacchan gave me one of his rare smiles, and kissed me again.

Yes, i am working v v v v hard to get the next ch of social media au up (we’re like half way there-ish so i havent post any new teasers of it :P). AHHHH a;djf;lasjdfasd lol ok the story behind ‘nothern lights’ is that i’ve been around a lot of fandom (LIKE A LOT) and usually there’s that one story told in canon ‘verse that everyone kinda know for being really beautifully written like a goddamn poetry. it’s not so much about the plot but like characters journey and developing relationship and just IDK really beautifully written masterpiece that char/relationship focus with the SLOWEST FUCKING BURN that deeply resonate with the readers.

‘nothern lights’ is supposed to stand in for that bc when i was creating my fake fanfic archive i thought of various stories that i see in fandom a lot like the kinky fic, the college fic, the plotty scifi/fantasy epic, the cliche fake relationship/escort fic thing, the abo fic, etc things i see so many times no matter what fandom i’m in and that’s what i love about it. so most of them i really didn’t give much of a thought about but i was super careful with nothern lights and ;AJSDFJ im so glad the summary works for you bc ngl its MY FAV.

i actually thought how it’s going to go bc like i said it’s MY FAV. it’s a story written in 8 parts w/ each part center around a certain age point of bakudeku like when they’re just toddlers, grade school, jr high, u.a. high, etc and how each chapter focus on the shifting road of their relationship (whether when they’re just babies and didn’t KNOW SHIT and how innocent they both were to when they were in jr high and HOW their relationship was burned to the ground). it’s basically just a canon retelling of each stages of their live and how they both start at the same point but their path diverge but SOMEHOW they always find themselves pull back together again.  

the best way to put it as: t’s basically a soulmate au w/o actually being a soulmate au?? like how no matter what path they take or whenever they are, they always, ALWAYS find each other again and fall back to each other side bc it’s like they’re pull together by some cosmic force in the universe if that make any sense at all... there are no soulmate identifying mark and the word soulmate is never brought up in the fic once but it’s subtext lol :PP. the fic is nothing special. there’s no like climatic evil to defeat, no silly trope like some weird quirk that get them together, no dramatic love confession, no inner angst about if he loves me or not etc. just a story of how two boys grow up, fight, and then fall in love with each other bc sometimes it’s just that simple. 

i hope i explain things for you???? ahhh, sorry when i was thinking of it i was very particular with the summary and i wanted it as good as the story i imagine in my head so IM V V V FLATTER that you guys are curious/interest in a nonexistent story!!! thank you v v v much!

My take on Bakudeku

Disclaimer before we begin: I am not a Bakugo hater. I am not saying I hate Bakugo. I am not. I love his character, the character development he is getting is wonderful and I am excited to see where his character goes in the future.

I also am not saying you are NOT ALLOWED to ship Bakudeku... If you want to, so be it, I can’t stop you, HAVE FUN! :)

However, what I am saying is I hate the ship “BakuDeku” and I’ll be highlighting a few points that explains my thoughts properly. It’s a bit of a mess, so bare with me… Also, if you love Bakudeku, just don’t read this, okay? Because it’ll just upset you…

Bakugo’s hatred of Izuku is born from the paranoid idea that Izuku has always looked down on Bakugo, (or the selfish thought that Bakugo should be the only strong one, considering Izuku’s Quirklessness).

Izuku wishes he could be friends with Bakugo again, saying they used to be friends when they were young.

Yes. They were friend’s when they were maybe 6 years old, and that’s when Bakugo decided to hate Izuku. After that, I assume the spiteful teasing started. Izuku is now 16, there is no way that a strong enough friendship could have been built in (lets say they met in JK, so, 4 year olds) two years that Izuku wants to hold onto.

When a child is bullied, usually having a support system is an important part of combatting the trauma that comes from that. If a child is being bullied and teased, it may cause dark and sad thoughts to form in their head about themselves that can have drastic repercussions in the future. However, if the child has a support system, such as friends or a care giver that is understanding and will listen, it can drastically decrease the damage done.

Unfortunately for Izuku, not only did Bakugo bully him, but he alienated him from the rest of the class, (probably from the whole school considering we never see Izuku with anyone) preventing Izuku from building a steady support network. This means that Izuku could never confide or find solace with friends, because Bakugo made sure to get rid of any help Izuku could receive. Part of that probably being people were too scared to go against Bakugo’s wishes.

Bakugo not only physically assaults Izuku with his explosive Quirk, (blowing up his notebook, beating him up constantly, probably using his Quirk to do so) but also verbally, when he tells Izuku to “Take a swan dive off the roof” AKA kill himself.

After all that abuse and trauma, I am surprised that Izuku would want anything to do with Bakugo. However, anime tends to glorify certain traits in people while completely ignoring all the bad things they’ve done.

“They may have bombed that orphanage on purpose, but they understood that those children would never be adopted anyways and took the most logical option to stop the bad guys. Plus, they are trying their hardest everyday to gain a better control over their Quirk, and they want to be the top hero so they can be more powerful than everyone else… And I just have to admire their drive and unbreakable will to succeed. That’s why I forgive them for breaking both my legs and leaving me crippled.”

Of course I’m being hyperbolic, but I just want to drive home Izuku’s unfaltering (and quite honestly misplaced) reverence for Bakugo.

BakuDeku is an abusive ship. No one can shift or shape their canon relationship into something remotely romantic.

A large and frightening problem I also see in the fandom is the fan art they produce.

In most BakuDeku comics I’ve seen, it usually depicts one of the following:

Bakugo: *Sleeping* Deku: Looks scared and slowly, nervously approaches him, quickly giving him a kiss or petting his hair. Bakugo: *Wakes up* and EITHER blows up and screams or punches Deku, OR looks angry before pulling Deku to him again for another kiss or to snuggle. Deku: *Reacts with fear* THE END LOL SO CUTE SO FUNNY

Now, while some fan art actually is cute, what is not cute at all is the fact that people seem to miss the fact that a person SHOULD NOT be terrified of being hit or punched for kissing or snuggling with their significant other. That is a huge sign of an abusive situation.

Most other art I see has some form of angry Bakugo, unhappy or annoyed. Or, extremely fetishized art of the two of them, but I don’t think I need to explain why that is bad.

I also see some people trying to defend Bakugo’s actions by saying that he was abused by his mother and that taught him his own abusive tendencies. I will say, I do believe he got his hot headed personality from his mother, however I do not think what his mother does would be considered abuse. That is just my own personal opinion from experience and story context, so I understand if anyone disagrees and I respect that, we all have our own stories.

The main point here is that in our society nowadays we have moved away from the idea that “a bully is a bully because he was bullied first, so try to be nice to him and understand what he’s going through.” because that is a self destructive thing to think. Just because he had a hard life, does not mean he has the right to make your life a living hell as well.

Below I went through a list of common signs that you may be in an Abusive relationship and highlighted ONLY ones that applied to Bakugo and Izuku’s relationship in the CANON universe, not in a romantic relationship.

I ended up with 16 that were NOT highlighted out of 48. All highlighted are references to actual moments in the manga (you can ask if you don’t think one happened, I’ll try to provide you with the scene is took place in.)

I also took a test, answering as honestly as I possibly could, I did not exaggerate anything and kept it once again to their canon relationship, not romantic. The lowest you could get was 0-5, abuse unlikely. The highest you could get was 11 & up, abuse is very likely. I got an 18 in total. If their canon relationship is shown to be that abusive, can you image how bad it’d get if they were in a romantic relationship?

To be clear, I don’t think Bakugo would sexually assault Izuku, I do not think that’s like him at all. Although, anime is gross and if it became canon, they’d probably make some questionable choices. Again, very heavy fetishization.

I’m also leaving out sexual activity because they’re 15-16 and I just don’t want to think about that at all OK????

Ah-hem, anyways…

Izuku now goes to UA and has many friends, giving him a large support network! You can see the difference in his personality, from being scared and quiet, to being with his friends, watching Bakugo blow up with exasperation instead of deep fear. This does not mean past abuse is forgotten. Childhood bullying can have lasting effects on kids for their whole lives (it also had a lasting effect on the bully as well, which is sad).

Now that Izuku has a Quirk and Bakugo and Izuku are forced, in a classroom setting, to work together, I think their broken relationship will at least progress to a mutual sort of respect. However, once again, I do not think it could be applied to a romantic context.

That is why I do not ship Bakudeku. This is simply my opinion and a written version of the jumbled thoughts I’ve had in my head for months now.

2. Is there a ship you didn’t like at first but ultimately started shipping?Ummm, I honestly can’t think of any off the top of my head! I’m a pretty open shipper, and I’ll even read pairings I don’t like if the plot sounds interesting enough lmao that doesn’t mean I’ll be shipping them regularly though!

Is there a ship that makes your skin crawl?I mean, there are a few crack pairs that give me the heebie jeebies (Dumbledore/Molly Weasley comes to mind), but as far as canon, or even serious non-canon ships? None that I have personally seen. I’m pretty open with ships! Give me an appropriate scenario where a ship connects? I’m down, even if I know it would never happen/they would never interact in canon. I read this one crack ship treated seriously, and it was beautifully written. It was Hidan/Temari from Naruto, but yeah, I went off on a tangent lmao No, no serious ships that I’ve seen have made my skin crawl! (Though there are a few I just don’t like)AHHH, WAIT, canon Voldemort/Bellatrix is weird, and I don’t like it lmao in canon I see Voldemort as aroace, I really don’t think he would do anything with Bellatrix, and doing so, even for an heir, is at odds with his canon characteristics.

14. Is there a ship you feel gets undeserved hate in fandom?Uuf, obviously! BakuDeku gets a ton of undeserved hate! Yes, we know that Katsuki bullied Izuku, and that is unacceptable, but he is learning and growing. Honestly, I’ve always been intrigued by the rivals-turned-lovers trope. And the best thing about that trope is exploring their relationships with each other throughout a series. BakuDeku doesn’t happen overnight in a fic, it’s usually either set in the future where previous relationship growth is mentioned, or exploring what if scenarios that could change their views of each other from the start, or basically building their relationship from the ground up. There’s a ton of canon material to work with. And while Katsuki is definitely at fault for his actions, he was also raised in such a way that his bullying was either praised or ignored. Why did no teachers step in? His parents? Katsuki has a lot of problems, and a lot of those problems could have at the least been curbed if he got help at an earlier age. ANYWAY, not going any farther into that (I’m shit at meta, Id much rather read them—I can send people Baku or BakuDeku meta if anyone wants it though!), I’m just saying that BakuDeku is a valid ship. Shipping rivals is par for the course. Even if people ship them ‘problematically’, that’s totally okay, because they’re fictional characters and we’re playing in a sandbox. It can be fun, and sometimes eye opening, to read fics where they’re, for instance, in a super unhealthy codependent relationship. So yeah, BakuDeku gets much undeserved hate. (Additionally, I have seen some Kacchako and Bakushima hate, but I think those antis just hate Bakugou with anyone, in general lol)Also, Dramione is in a similar vein (even more so than Drarry). “But Draco would never be with Hermione!!! He hates mudbloods!!!” Yeah, but the whole point is for Draco to realize that ‘mudbloods’ aren’t lesser for being born from two muggles?? That muggles in general aren’t animals and are, in fact, just as intelligent, emotional, and complex as wizards? -eye roll-

19. Is there a ship the fandom has ruined for you?Haha not really! I just joined tumblr in October, so I had no idea that fandoms could be so toxic??? But since I’ve been reading fan fiction for so many years, and I’m just now being thrust into actual fandoms, I developed my own opinions without ship-hate around to effect my views. Honestly, I don’t know if it could have either way. If I enjoy the content, I enjoy the content!

27. Name a ship that deserved better in the end.Ahhh, a lot of fandoms that Im a part of are ongoing series! So, I don’t have a bunch of pairings to pick from xD Most series, I respect who the author chooses as the canon pairing, because they’re the author, ya know? I definitely think that Sakura and Sasuke (from Naruto) deserved a different ending… I won’t get super into it (because people will crawl from the depths to kill me), but I don’t think they’re a good pairing. I honestly get the vibe that Sasuke is aroace. I think the main reasons he got with her are guilt, her loyalty, convenience, and the fact that he wanted an heir. I wish Sakura would have come to the hard realization that you can’t force someone to love you. I wish she had a chance to learn and grow from a realization like that. She deserves more than being a stay at home mom with a disinterested husband.I can’t think of any others right now!
