girlhood is one by one sneaking out of your rooms because the smelly loud boys in the flat next door are suddenly in your shared flat. girlhood is the three of you telling them that no they cannot get changed in your kitchen and they need to get out of your corridor right now. girlhood is watching them leave then chatting about how obnoxious they are, which turns into a catching up and a gossip session. girlhood is talking for only a “little bit” — that little bit really meaning standing and sharing thoughts for an hour, until one of you decides to sit on the floor which then prompts the others to sit down. girlhood is sitting in the corridor with snacks and wine all of a sudden and laughing and giving pieces of yourself away and creating light and love wherever you are.

When your parents confused you with your brother and almost missed your birthday but the girl you've been friends with for 2 months remembered and somehow managed to wish you happy birthday the exact time you were born, which you didn't even tell her.
