These guys are my newest silliest dudes from the webcomic School Bus Graveyard! It's free to read on webtoons here and is currently in talks to get a TV adaptation soon so now is 1000% the time to be getting into it!! It's basically a supernatural mystery about six high school freshmen from Georgia who go on a field trip and end up sucked into a demon dimension every time it hits midnight! It's super cool - the pacing is very good imo, a good balance of the Main Plot (oh no we need to survive the Demon Dimension again, also Why Are We In A Demon Dimension) with character development and backstory stuff!

The characters are badass but in a way I feel is very realistic? Like, not just "oh i'm the protagonist suddenly i know how to judo flip armies the moment i'm in danger" but more like "i'm going to train for months in self defense classes to build up some basic muscles" kinda way. The characters themselves are also pretty well fleshed out - they're not just the typical archetypes. Like, the "weak bullied nerd kid" isn't JUST a weak bullied nerd kid, he has well developed motivations and backstory and simultaneously realistic and satisfying character growth.

There are implied potential/future romances but it is so NOT the core point of the story, so whether or not that's your thing you can either ignore it or get excited about it in equal measure. The characters also aren't just edgy and gritty "we must deal with this alone... augh misery woe is us..." they actively do what they can to use all the resources available to them (including trying to get help from their parents, which is an ick for me in other media when the kid protagonists just refuse to ask for help? or assume they can't without trying? anyway).

I would say to be careful about any warnings at the beginning of specific chapters, because some can get quite violent.

The six main characters, without giving to many spoilers, are as follows under the cut (cuz this got long):

The protagonist Ashlyn, an asocial ballerina with her loving ex-military parents, who has a condition that gives her incredibly sensitive/enhanced hearing (she ends up using this to help detect the monsters after them, since they're otherwise silent to the other protagonists!)

Aiden, a creepily-smiley ex-homeschooled rich kid who has no concept of social convention or personal space. Has forcibly chosen Ashlyn to be his friend during his first year in school against her will and ends up accidentally setting off the chain of events leading to the Plot. (I love him. He definitely has Every Mental Illness <3)

Ben, Aiden's incredibly physically intimidating cousin, who is mute and so, so sweet and gentle and follows Aiden like his shadow, in part to take care of him when Aiden's antics get him injured and in part because Ben's muteness makes it incredibly difficult for people to understand him. Aiden, however, can understand his nonverbal communications with ease

Taylor, a friendly girl's girl who tries (often in vain) to befriend Ashlyn. Is also a talented mechanic who ends up putting googly eyes on her weapon once they end up in the Demon Dimension. She's the most Emotionally Aware Person Here but also she's like, 15, so, the bar is on the floor

Tyler, Taylor's twin brother, a somewhat aggressive and rude baseball jock who mostly Minds His Own Damn Business aside from his clinginess to Taylor. In fact they wear matching outfits in almost every episode of the comic it's so funny and cute. Is often found fighting bullies to defend their victims so i forgive him for all his own asshole crimes he's just a dude. he's one of my little guys

Logan, who is canonically compared to a puppy. Shy, intelligent, and incredibly empathetic! My partner's favorite character who has one of the best character arcs so far imo. Likes photography, astrology, and gardening. I think they should give him more guns, as a treat. He can never have enough

anyways thank you for the ask! overall i highly recommend - it's still ongoing, we're currently in the middle of season two!! the mystery is unfolding, there's funny and sweet moments along with the intense ones, and i am INVESTED. :DDDDDD

Summer beefed with Tim for 'replacing' Jason and Tim hated Summer out of still not unlearned self-righteousness

But thanks to Tim's girlfriend and Summer's little brother i.e Stephanie and Kon being Summer's best friend and Tim's best friend,they're in the same place or connected so often they have no choice but to interact often

Tim got Summer into tagging and graffiti/street art and they go around to throw some tags up or do some analysis of street art they take interest in.Summer uses his kryptonian/human hybrid superheight and kryptofang(kryptonian dragon,his specific species)wings to help Tim throw up pieces in hard to reach places

5) exactly thirty three minutes. benny did so as a fun challenge for themselves and ended up having to get up because his legs and pelvis started to ache

6) benny laughs pretty easily! he uses humor as a coping mechanism and you can’t be sad if you’re laughing! at least, that’s what they think

8) it’s very hard to earn benny’s trust. they grew up getting harassed and bullied for being half-solennian (see here for context) so they learned to be on guard with new people. benny doesn’t actually trust many people; sure, he can buddy buddy with many people but trusting them is a whole other story. it’s very easy for benny to lose trust in people, especially if they find out he’s half-solennian and react negatively to it

9) the laws are flexible. benny has a degree in sociology and knows that laws are social constructs set up by the ruling class (leftist benny moment). he believes that you can’t apply a “one size fits all” mentality to the law, there has to be flexibility and there is flexibility, such as leniency for homicide in cases of self defense. he’s also not afraid to steal some shit from joja mart as a means to “stick it to the man” (morris has yet to catch them)

I NEED YOUR EXPERT ADVICE. I'm making Hermit designs but I've been kin-assigning them animals because as a furry artist I cannot draw humans. I've been choosing animals based on personality/behavior and not just looks. Do you have any ideas for Joel, Impulse, or Skizz? Gem too if you've got one, I don't want to stick with Just fandom-popular animals (deer/fox/etc). IF U DO NOT HAVE THOUGHTS THAT IS OKAY TOO, TY FOR READING ANYWAYS <3

Oughh this is a good question uhh I don't have many nor the best ideas probably by a long shot but if it can even just help spark some ideas, here's some!!

Joel - Donkey honestly! Hot-headed, stubborn, loud little things. To me, Joel is a heavy hitter not caring for stealth etc and makes himself known. Think of how farmers often get a solitary donkey to protect their livestock because of the sheer ferocity of those territorial things. Donkeys may often be associated with undesirable traits but they kick and bite like pawns of hell, just because they can, not even because its necessary to defend themselves. They will kick to kill and they'll make sure of it. Kinda Joel coated to me tbh, even if Joel isn't always great at getting that kind of job done. Just from the way donkeys are often perceived though I think it fits.. For pretty much the same reasons also, a rooster?? Significantly less deadly (accurate to Joel) but still capable of great malice!! And obviously often seen as very prideful much like Joel

Impulse - this came up in my dinosaur assigning, but bull! Impulse is usually depicted as a bulky guy with a strong build and horns, like a bull! The bull has a bunch of symbolism thrown at it but that includes stuff like strength and loyalty, attributes I think are often assigned to Impulse. And at points, Impulse does showcase these, but he can also become hot headed, arrogant, and he holds grudges like hell. These aren't traits you usually think of with a bull though, lest you think of bull-fighting. I think it fits Impulse because on surface level, and from a lot of people's understanding, you don't think of these less desirable traits. He also seems to think rather highly of himself and doesn't often deem it necessary to prove his loyalty etc when others doubt him. Bulls aren't as hot-headed as the awful bull-fighting sport might have you believe but they are still rather easily aggravated! A lot of animals can "hold grudges" for a prolonged time, but elephants and camels especially, so, something fitting in that too (especially with those once again being bulky large animals. The camel I guess is more lanky than bulky though...)

Skizz - Of course Skizz just makes me think of lovely birds when I try and assign something to him. Immediate thought was swan but... Swans are ferocious fighters and Skizz is... not Mayhaps an albatross instead if we stick with birds - they're also birds known for their love and conviction, but also the fun rumor that killing an albatross will leave you cursed. That kind of makes me think of Skizz's "I only kill those who deserve it" mindset. Harm him and he will (try to) get back at you Maybe even a crow, for how social they are but also how capable of remembering faces If we want non-birds, I think any animal that's passive and chill but valiantly protective of their own could fit? Or because Skizz is kind of always friendly, could lean into that and assign him the capybara, which I can't imagine is much good at fighting much like him. Or maybe an animal that has an unimpressive and maybe laughable defense mechanism to a human, like the way raccoons or red pandas stand on their hind legs to try and threaten you, the same way Skizz on his red life will dye his hair red or wear a red speedo

Gem - Surprisingly tough... I love the usual deer themeing with her so I automatically wanna assign her another herbivore that is thought to be very passive or docile but one that could very much fuck you up. Honestly... I know it doesn't make for good hybrid material at all but..hippos... just for how fucking murderous they are. Maybe a good ol horse instead? Because horses especially are widely domesticated and people very often make the mistake of getting too close etc only to get kicked in the face. Gem doesn't listen to anyone man she's her own boss!! A cow works for similar reasons. Deadly beasts even if often seen as totally docile... I love this kind of idea because it draws so much attention to how spearheaded Gem is But I could also imagine her as a predator like an ocelot etc. She very much acts like one I think. That's why it's so tough, so much stuff fits her!!

but first of all, thank you for asking because I love talking about them, second of all, I'm so happy you like the names because I do too 🥰 well obviously, I wouldn't have chosen them otherwise, but I'm very particular about names and they have to feel right, and this was one of those instances when I almost instantly knew their names, like it was just fate. meant to be. and I think they sound nice together!! anyway, I'll stop ranting about names now

so, the story is urban fantasy, and their tropes are slowburn, mutual pining, idiots to lovers, battle couple, codependency, angstttttt, two sides of the same coin, flirty & awkward, snarky & serious, impulsive & rational, short-tempered & calm

Dani (full name Danielle Preston but she hates being called Danielle) is our leading lady, she's in her mid-20s, and she's the flirty, snarky, impulsive, short-tempered side of the two. she's always cracking a joke, which is mostly a self-defense mechanism, and tends to cover up real feelings with humor, sex and booze. I have such a soft spot for characters who'd rather cut open a vein than show weakness or vulnerability in front of someone, but still deeply care about people and are intensely loyal if you earn it, so she's kinda that archetype. she'd literally burn down a whole city for someone she loves but will never actually say the words. also she's bisexual like almost all my MCs

and Elijah is the more level-headed, serious, all business no fun counterpart to Dani's generally chaotic behavior. he's a couple hundred years old, and not human, but he looks to be in his early 30s. he's very matter-of-fact, goal-oriented, and pragmatic, but he's also very kind to those who deserve it, and can be surprisingly intense and passionate when he actually lets himself feel it (which is not very often, at least not at first). he has a very strong sense of justice, but he kind of follows his own moral code, so he definitely falls into the morally grey category (Dani kind of does too, but Elijah even more so)

as for their relationship, it starts as kind of an unwilling partnership and they clash a lot at the beginning because of their different approaches and worldviews, but they eventually form a friendship. Elijah's kind of drawn to her/fascinated by her from the start, because she's so different from him but has a lot of the qualities he admires/wishes he had too. Dani takes a bit longer mostly because she's better at lying to herself lmao. but there's an attraction of sort from the beginning. it's a difficult ride, mostly because they're both stubborn idiots who tend to repress their emotions, just in different ways. she's lost people and is afraid to lose more, and he's just not sure he knows how to allow himself to want things and be a functioning human person, so neither wants a relationship and they're both violently trying to deny any feelings. but the feelings are definitely there. like they're not together but they're deeply devoted but they will never admit it but there's no one else who could possibly compare. those kinda vibes, you know?

some other tidbits/details that I love about them: she loves to antagonize him (mostly in a teasing way) and he's so offended/annoyed at first until he realizes it's her love language. then the annoyance turns into fond exasperation. she's pretty much the only one who can make him genuinely smile and laugh, in fact sometimes he's the only one who actually finds her funny at all lmao (she definitely overdoes it sometimes but he finds it charming). she's a bit of a romantic deep down, and he's very intensely devoted once he commits, so it's the kind of relationship she always secretly wanted but never thought could have. and he's the only person she will tolerate calling her Danielle (it's kind of a turn-on from him).

anyway, I could go on but it's gonna get long very quickly, so this is just the basics. but I love talking about them and I'm always open to more specific questions from anyone <3

hi anon, i rlly wanna give you a decent answer with panel evidence and analysis but i'm beat so:

in most to least like him, cass would probably be in the lead because she gets batman's mission in a way none of the others can. every life is worth saving. she has seen death, she knows exactly what it looks like and she can never let anyone fall victim to that. everything is her fault, she needs to save everyone. very much the tenet of being bruce wayne.

dick would probably be second. he learned everything from bruce. all his coping mechanisms look like a knight-in-bat-armour. they grew up together, they found their footing as a crime-fighting duo together. dick is often considered the best parts of batman but he can also very much be the worst of bruce- the control freakism, the debilitating guilt complex and martyrdom, the tendency to self-isolate.

i think, tim and damian are probably a tie for third place but in very different ways. the thing with tim is he chose this life, he never makes a move too early. he believes in ending a confrontation with minimal damage and in the quickest way possible- he can see the big picture. also, he is insanely abnormal about dick grayson, just like bruce wayne lmao. with respect to damian, a lot of damian's early appearances are very heartbreaking because he's sooooo defensive and prickly. he doesn't know his place in this awful city and his father has just died. and so often, just like bruce, his intentions are misread bc he struggles to be vulnerable. he wants to do good! but people don't often give him the benefit of the doubt, much like bruce. plus, very often their statement of facts is taken as condescension or a lack of concern when that's very much not the case!

jason and steph can alternate for last place lmao. before you get upset, i think what makes jason very similar to bruce is how they're both self-fulfilling prophecies. tragedies of their own making. they are both changed irrevocably by jason's death and neither of them have the tools to admit that to each other in a manner that doesn't include explosives. meanwhile, steph's dogged determination to keep going out, no matter what anyone else around her says, very bruce-core of her. she wanted to be saved and then she made the choice to save herself! people have hurt her irredeemably but still, she believes in the goodness of people.

i'm afraid i've only read a small amount of duke so i don't feel comfortable adding him to this. also, babs is not his kid ofc but depending on how much sleep she has had, she can be anywhere on this scale lmao. it all just depends on the kind of day she's having.

as for his favourites, it's very much dick. but there's no saving grace in that. you are your father's prized lamb and all it does is get you sacrificed.

i think cass and damian are tied for second place. unfortunately, this does not mean bruce likes damian. sure, he loves him. he'll make heaven and earth move to get him back. but does he like always like damian? nope.

then tim, followed by steph. jason cannot be accurately placed because too much of his identity is tied into robin; bruce is always haunted by that version of jason who believed in robin's magic. also, for fun- helena is not his kid either but she is plum last. always. bruce dislikes her a lot for reasons he cannot be bothered to understand. tim thinks it's hilarious.

5. What’s a fic idea you’ve had that you will never write?

never say never, of course, but i may not write this one simply because dealing with gender in a way that relates so closely to my own experience is not something i feel up to doing at this moment....but, i had an idea about a girl sid-boy geno fic that is a little...i guess maybe off-theme from what a lot of people who do rule 63 in this fandom do? i had a thought about a girl sid who reacts to being almost always the only woman in a male space by going hyper-feminine—she doesn't try to be one of the boys, she doesn't try to act or dress more androgynously. her defense mechanism is the exact opposite. you will never catch her doing press without her hair done and her makeup flawless. she speaks softly and politely and maybe even pitches her voice up a bit from what she 'really' sounds like. she dates, and they're all stereotypical manly men, but never involved in hockey in any way, because perception is everything. in this fic, she has an A, but it's pretty clear the organization did that as a token thing. the team knows she's the real captain, though. how does a geno who's desperately in love with her and is wearing 'her' captaincy manage that? how do they fall in love?

my issue with writing this is because i use m/m fic to deal with my own relationship to gender, but at a safe distance—it's why i do a lot of omegaverse. i'm a very tall, not-skinny woman, and i have a low voice, and my defense mechanism for years has been to try and shrink myself and be as girly as possible in public to counteract the non-feminine parts of how i look and act. i understand that there's been some discussion in fandom recently about feminizing certain characters, but writing characters in certain ways can do a lot to work through your own issues at a remove that doesn't hurt, or feel weird. i'm not sure when, if ever, i'll be able to confront that more directly and write about it in this fashion. i think it could be really fun, though!

18. What’s one of your favorite lines you’ve written in a fic?

i love all the lines i've ever written because i'm my own biggest fan, but something i wrote that i'm particularly proud of right now is this one, from this fic:

“I like you better now,” Sid says, bringing a hand up to cup Geno’s jaw, studying his face, the creases around his eyes and mouth, the hairline that’s higher this year than it’s ever been despite Geno’s best efforts, the silver in his sideburns. It’s a face that’s at once familiar and strange, because Sid’s known this face since he was 19, but looking at Geno now, at how he’s changed and softened with age, sometimes strikes Sid painfully, deep in his heart.

i've been thinking a lot about aging recently, and the joy of getting older with people you know. it's a privilege. and i have some lifelong friends, along with my family, and over the last few months i've been thinking about how when i look at these people who i've known since infancy i don't really see what they look like now...i see what they look like in my heart, which is sort of an amalgamation of all the ways they looked in their youth and young adulthood. but sometimes, when i'm talking to someone, it's almost like a mini out-of-body experience, and i see them how they look now, with all the marks of aging that they have—wrinkles, gray hair, weight gain, whatever it is—and it's like- oh wow, this person is almost a stranger to me, because i see them the way i did when i first met and loved them. i am sure this is a very common experience, but it's startling every time, seeing and recognizing that my own perception is so colored by how i feel about someone and the length and duration of our relationship that it can literally alter what they look like to me.

it's kind of beautiful, to have people like that in my life. and getting old together is a gift. but it's also strange, and poignant, and powerful to have happen. anyway, i did my best to capture that sensation with that paragraph, and i think i did a decent job with it.

Hey, I was negative on FE Fates earlier, so let me make up for that by saying some things I genuinely really like about it from a game design perspective. There's a lot of little improvements that seem conscious of ways FE games past haven't lived up to their full potential, and Fates does some very clever things to fix these issues.

Aching Blood

Odin's personal skill is kind of amazing. What it does is it boosts his critical chance by 10% when he's using an upgraded weapon with a name at least 12 characters long (or 8 kanji characters in the Japanese version). The effect is pretty small, but it directly rewards two behaviors that players might not otherwise do. It encourages them to forge their weapons, something plenty of players don't do in a lot of FE, and it encourages them to actually use the naming feature, getting creative and putting their own personal touch on the gameplay. Personally I love calling bronze weapons stuff like the Wusslance because of their low risk and low reward.

2. Ore

Speaking of weapon forging, the decision to make it use a separate currency from gold is kind of brilliant. I remember back in the Awakening days, a friend told me that forging was useless and a waste of money. Was it true? I don't know, but I can see how someone would think that. Because the thing about forging in Awakening (and most other FEs with forging for that matter) is that it costs money you could be spending on something else. Why would you use that mechanic if there are much clearer alternatives? In Fates, the currency for forging weapons isn't used for anything else, so you have no reason not to forge weapons. Now given, they do also cost another version of the same weapon. But I'd rather have one strong Wussbow than two middling Bronze Bows. I can make that choice.

3. Proactive Skills

Fire Emblem has a bit of a skill issue. Ranting about random activation skills is outside the scope of this post, basically they're fun, but their inconsistency means you can't plan around them. (Ask me about Miracle.) But my ire here actually lies with two skills in FE Awakening: Outdoor Fighter and Indoor Fighter. These give a +10% boost to accuracy and evasion depending on what terrain you're on. I kind of really don't like these skills, because they affect basically nothing about how you actually use the character. Most levels are either entirely indoor, or entirely outdoor. They affect whether it's worth using that character in a given map, but once the preparation phase is over you basically don't consider it. In my opinion, gaining a new skill should mean gaining a new way to engage with the combat, and not just provide an improvement to the thing you were going to do anyway. Fates understands this, at least in part. Outdoor and Indoor Fighter were replaced with Elbow Room and Natural Cover. The former gives a +3 attack boost on terrain with no special effects, and the latter gives a +3 defense on terrain *with* special effects. This fundamentally changes the way you engage with the game. With Cavaliers, it gives you a choice: Do you take the defensive boosts of cover, or the offensive boosts of open field? With Knights, it encourages you to find a place to fortify yourself, and even gives you a reason to stay on tiles with negative effects. I genuinely appreciate design choices like this, and i only wish Fates committed more.

billy and stu are merciless lers, and not in a cute way. like, genuinely scary and not for the faint of heart.

their friends all know that tickling should not be brought up around them, because randy has been tickled to tears by them more than once throughout their friendship

they've tried doing it to their respective girlfriends once or twice, but sidney gets violent and has kicked billy in the balls before, and tatum screams bloody murder and gives everyone nearby a splitting headache

billy and stu are sadists, ok?? they are not going to be cute, playful lers - they like making people beg and cry. and if they're not in the mood to commit murder, something more innocent seeming can be a fun way to go.

sidney didn't mind being tickled when she was younger, but after everything she's been through, she hates basically anything that makes her feel vulnerable. if she really trusted a partner, she could enjoy it briefly, but being helpless really freaks her out.

billy is really good at pretending he isn't ticklish. stu is the only person other than billy's mother who knows that he is. sidney tried it once, and pouted when he didn't react.

billy gets fucking pissed whenever stu tickles him, but he secretly likes the closeness of it. stu is the only person he trusts enough to do it, but he can't seem sappy about it, so he still has to threaten to gut him afterwards<333

stu purposefully annoys billy into tickling him sometimes because he's got a big ass crush and will take any excuse for billy to touch him

randy is super ticklish and the only character i can see not minding it. if billy and stu are his lers though, he is fighting for his life.

tatum grew up with an older brother, so her defense mechanism is to shriek as loud as she can and flail like mad. she definitely hit dewey in the face a few times when they were younger.

also, i never talk about him, but i think dewey is definitely ticklish. he just has that sweet himbo vibe that screams giggler.

I have three infamous mcs. One of them is my favourite, she's such a menace and I love it. She's so mean to seven and I'm honestly here for it. I mean she's kind of blunt and sarcastic and that sometimes can come across as rude, but she is reasonable she's not gonna go out of her way to be a complete asshole to someone who's being civil to her. But if you're rude to her she's sure as hell gonna be rude to you back, and seven especially gets on her nerves bcs she just gets tired of their attitude, acting like a a chihuahua all the time. I love her chemistry with orion though, but she and seven is kind of a funny dynamic. Idk if it would be a healthy romantic relationship, but like it's not real so. My other infamous mc is a full on orion simp and he's so down bad for orion, but he'd rather throw himself off a cliff than ever admit it. He's a lot more chill and spontaneous than my seven-mancer on the exes route. He's also a lot more of a people pleaser than she is, not looking like he cares but he does in fact care a lot about people's perception of him. And being around orion makes him feel comfortable especially bcs orion kind of showed him the care that he never really got from the people around him and he is able to read him like an open book despite his defense mechanism of using humour to hide his feelings. And for my final mc is also a seven mancer but for the best friends to lovers route and lemme tell u they're my child but they're a hot mess. They drag seven every chance they get bcs they find their feelings for seven terribly frustrating. But I tried to make them have some similar attitude to seven and it's hilarious honestly. They are less chill than the other two and have more of a temper, but they're still fine as long as u r civil to them, but if u r rude they won't hold back either. They are I think the mc I have who's as equally mean as seven as they are to them, but if u listen to their songs u can tell they're down bad for their es best friend lol but they'd rather roll off a mountain than let seven know. I mean they did tell seven in the van with the option of "my plan is to make you fall over heels for me" or something like that but seven didn't believe them and my mc was half serious and half joking. They secretly enjoy pushing sevens buttons lol. my other seven mancer is mean to seven but she will ignore them for the most part if they are being childish bcs she just can't be asked to. As for my orionmamcer he would just rather chill and avoid conflict, he makes his jokes and stays in his corner. He still has a crush on seven as seven is his ex and he still has a crush on him, but also has a secret crush on orion bcs I'm here for the drama. My female Sevenmancer also flirts with Victoria bcs she is a simp for pretty women. She is a fan of Griffin, but she likes his wife more. 😂😭

3: What’s your favorite line of narration?

okay i'm cheating a little bit here and doing more than just A line gkfjgd i'm doing SEVERAL lines (several paragraphs, actually skdfjs but my response my rules 😂) anyways.

this is my faaaaavorite section of lines from this fic:

The sweater is soft, when he picks it up, deep red in color and cable-knit. The fabric is frayed in some places, worn in that comfortable sort of way — the way that tells him this one is a favorite. This one is loved . Eddie flattens a palm over the front, traces a fingertip down one of the thick, braided ropes there. He holds it up, rubs it against his cheek. Then buries his face into the wool and sniffs deeply. It’s not weird, he tells himself as he inhales hairspray and pine. As he inhales Steve. But then he catches sight of himself in the mirror — shirtless, dripping wet, cuddling a pretty boy’s sweater — and he laughs. What a picture he makes. Jesus. Get it together, Munson.

it's funny because this scene was actually the very first one i wrote for this fic!! there was just something about the idea of eddie having this like quiet little private moment to himself where he allows himself to indulge in the crush that he has that just hooked me and i ended up writing a whole entire fic around it lol.

i also really love the details that i added to this part. like especially with the sweater, and how it's so obvious (to all except eddie ofc lol) that steve gave him his favorite sweater to use — because of his own crush on eddie and how he a. wants to give him nothing but the safest, warmest, most comfortable options to ensure he's taken care of but also bc b. he wants to see the guy he likes wearing his favorite clothes hello!!

4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue?

cheating a lil bit AGAIN bc it's not so much a line of dialogue as it is an exchange of dialogue that takes the cake as my favorite.

“Careful there, Stevie,” Eddie says, nickname slipping out unbidden. He’s never used that one with Steve before, but he likes the way it sounds. And if the glow on Steve’s face is anything to go off of, so does he. “A girl could get the wrong idea.” One of Steve’s eyebrows arches. “What kind of idea might that be?” He asks. “That you might wanna make her yours,” Eddie breathes. Steve pauses. Hesitates for the first time since they started this little back and forth. He worries at his lip. Looks between Eddie’s eyes. Searches their depths. He must like what he finds, because he steels himself and says, “Would that be so bad if I did?”

this exchange is one of my favorites of the fic because it's that charged moment right before, the one where they're both standing on the precipice, about to let themselves fall over the edge without a clue as to how it's going to go. it feels like a breath is being held, like a heart is racing, like the anticipation is just insurmountable. those kinds of moments — the build up, the tension — are some of my absolute favorites to write, they're so much fun to craft.

but also, i like the phrasing here because it's like eddie's taking that small step towards showing his hand, but he's also still holding those cards close to his chest too because he's not directly addressing it. and he's sort of still hanging onto that joking teasing defense mechanism. so in a way, when steve says "would it be so bad if i did?" it's like he's disarming eddie. he's making it real.

1. I think Ian keeps it fairly simple with his nicknames for Mickey. "Baby" is obviously a big one and I think he says it quite frequently, I can also see him blurting out "sweetheart" or "love" during some intense, emotional sex and proudly calling Mickey his husband and the love of his life to other people. As for Mickey's nicknames for Ian, "tough guy" is the oldest and therefor Ian's favorite, along with "red" or "freckles", since he adores Mickey loving on the physical attributes that he might have been teased for as a kid, they're like a shot of confidence and serotonin every time. "Sleepyface" is also still a part of their lives, but since their nieces and nephews/possibly their own kids end up liking it so much, Mickey uses it on them later on instead, and Ian doesn't mind one bit.

2. The knuckle tatts were definitely a part of a "you're a Milkovich man now" initiation process that was led by Terry when Mickey was around 13-14 years old, done at home by a family member. I do think Mickey wanted to get them, but for all the wrong reasons. He had his own idea of what a "real man" should act and look like at the time, which was greatly manipulated by his father, and he used them as a part of his defense mechanism to look tough and keep people out for a long time. Once he let go and embraced his sensitivity, he was still okay with the words he picked out, but let them fade away naturally when the time came, symbolizing distancing himself from Terry's influence. As for Ian, I see him getting something symbolic that they can both share, perhaps stargazer lilies for their 10th wedding anniversary, or they both get a shape outline with their kids' initials inside if/when the time comes, and Ian includes Mickey's "M" inside it on his version.

3. Crime/gun kink aside, Mickey loves to see Ian get pissed off once in a while and verbally defend them against random assholes, something about that rough energy sparks the need to get Ian on him while his blood is still boiling. Also, once they move in together and Ian takes on cooking, he surprises Mickey with preparing his favorite meals, and this new love language ends up speaking not only to Mickey's tummy, but also his dick, prompting spicy moments in the kitchen. For Ian, it's the sight of Mickey calculating their finances with his glasses on (we support glasses!mickey on this blog), nibbling on his pen every once in a while, mouthing out the words as he goes over his notes. Ian tries his best not to stare as he hangs around him, handing Mickey the cup of coffee he made and pretending to scroll down his phone while he waits, clothes flying everywhere as soon as Mickey is done.

4. Although my knowledge of Instagram is pretty poor, I don't think Mickey particularly gravitates towards social media, so Ian is the only one who has an Instagram in their home. It's the same one he's had for the last few years, a simple handle with just his name. It used to be a place where he posted hot pics of himself, but now it's mostly artsy photos of his and Mickey's joined hands in bed, his little tomato sprouts and other pretty stuff Mickey would surely tease him for if he knew they were on there.

5. Mickey finally gets the Pitbull he always wanted and 100% names it after a brand/type of gun (I vote for Heckler), thinking it will be the toughest dog in the world, only to realize over time that it's the exact opposite. Ian wants a cat, a sweet, orange kitten so they can be twins, and they end up getting both pets from the local animal shelter. However, since Ian is the early riser and more active outdoors, the dog ends up attaching himself to him more, and the originally not-that-cuddly ginger cat takes a liking to Mickey and starts sleeping on his chest while he watches TV, making it clear that their pets also have a say in the matter. Ian and Mickey just shrug and roll with it, and both of them end up loving the crap out of each of their fur babies in the long run.

he's always been pretty interesting to me bc he's like.. i mean he's so cocky and confident and (kinda a fuckboi) im ngl. off the top of my head (i apologize for the broad generalities) but i characterize/hc him as like... idk he's just very happy, and sly, and funny, and the thing is the reason he's so secure and confident in himself is because he PUTS IN THE HARD WORK! he keeps his head up, and he succeeds!! he's someone who cares about his craft deeply (u can see i write this in canon-compliant things, but also apply it to hgau w his.. ahem. career tribute killing..), and also the people around him! he's got this exterior that's a little hard to break into but i think he just builds it up.. like he's an asshole but he's a CARING asshole.. and a hurt one so its his defense mechanism sorta.. (i expand on this in the main fic/peyz fic in the same verse the chovy/doran is set in). the thing is, chovy has an ego because he started from the bottom. he didn't win a lot irl until 22-now in esports. same goes in all my iterations of chovy: hes where he's at because he knows he's worked to get there, because he knows he deserves it. its like hes a rightful egoist.. LOL.

i do have many chovy wips and stuff... off the top of my head, i have my kim suhwan vs. the world/peyz fic where chovy is a side character, i have an lck ensemble au fic where he gets his own story arc, i might write another doran/chovy spinoff of ksvstw/peyz fic depending on my feelings.. i also have him in i want your violence of course, and i also have a solo chovy main character fic in my drafts! also i have a few works going in more lck mid dynamics (like my fic the mouth of the wolf, the eyes of the lamb, only they're canon-compliant) but yk its the same as in i explore lck mids.. i love lck mids... i love chovy.

It's weird to me once I've realised, since I know 1. I'm a hopeless romantic 2. I tend/try to give almost all of me whenever I'm in a relationship 3. I've always been clingy+attached+needy in most, if not all of my past relationships but:

I've been in first/puppy love, infatuation mixed with hormones and some other shi, love out of longterm companionship and familiarity, mind fogging infatuation again + horniness after peacefully parting with the longterm relationship, then now where it's just two people who are interested/who like each other but are still trying things out with a special open agreement on my side due to lack on his side that leads to me having another special precious someone but it's complicated too-

What I'm trying to say is, I don't think I've ever gotten the chance yet to fall in love, like really in love with someone and that makes me sad. It's no one's fault tbh, it's either because I never had the chance to get to know them better before it came to an end or reality problems like they're in school/have work so we can't spend enough time together or we were both just mentally unwell or just because my self aware mind was holding me back just because she knew I wouldn't receive the amount of feelings I needed to feel wholely loved and it would have just brought me pain rather than the decently happy memories and experiences I have now-

Ah,,,,, so it's because I've never had or felt like someone actually was in love with me? That's why she didn't let me? Well that realization while typing whatever came to mind just made me cry a bit. And the fact that 60% (remaining 40% is my optimistic side taking control and just hoping for a chance) of me believe I probably won't find someone who will be in love with me like I need because I'm just so average and not fucking enough just makes me cry more and I hate it.

I know I'm good, I'm great, I'm not bad, I'll be an above average gf to any lucky guy with a good eye; I appreciate/am grateful for any feelings towards me lots and will love you back the same amount or more but why? Why can't anyone be interested in me enough to want to learn all of me? Even if it takes a lifetime. And then be in love with everything of me that you've found out? Why can't anyone only want me and be sure that no one else can compare and never ever want to let go of me? Try your best with me even when reality is being an ass? Why can't someone just be unconditionally in love with me all because it's me? Why? why? why why why

I want to be fully trusting hopelessly in love with someone, but I can't as long as I feel like there's any risks or possibilities of me getting hurt or it not working, does that mean I'll never get to experience being mindlessly in love? It's a good thing ig that I have a defense mechanism in place,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I'll still be insecure and have bad feels and get hurt sometimes cause I'm a crybaby but at least I won't feel anything lasting haha~ tho then that makes me worried if there's something wrong with me cause after every relationship I just cried and mourned a lil then was totally fine-

Clean laundry - when it's time to fold clothes, sheets, towels, etc. Who's the best at it? Who can't fold a sock for the life of them?

I think Sephiroth would be a bit better, because his ass is like the most meticulous ass I have EVER seen in my life. I mean, he WAS a SOLDIER, and a first class too, and a general above all of that. Perfection was a must for him.

And, of course, because of that, the need for everything to be clean and tidy stayed even after he went insane.

However, Sephiroth can be quite busy with achieving his mothers own plans, so Tsizilia is the one who does it. She works slower, but is also hard-working. Both are clean freaks at heart🖤

Look! - do you have any common interests? Or has any of you got or tried to get the other on one of your favorite tv shows/books? Was it successful? Are they now the ones 'annoying' you to watch it with them?

YES! We both adore reading in our free time! Although, we like different types of genres, what's more better than sharing interests, having indoor book dates, and sometimes even reading the same book together?

We also like to watch movies, but again, the taste in genres differs, and we do it rarely! Although I want to add, Tsizilia and Sephiroths favorite movie would be definitely "Equilibrium" (2003), where basically a man fights against a corrupt system after discovering the truth, while being lied to for so long. (*cough cough* Shinra- *cough*)

and yeah, Tsizilia/me is the more "naggy" one who pleads Sephiroth to read with her/the one she recommended😂

Bed & sleepy time! - How do your f/os prefer to lay in bed? Snuggling all the time with you? Maybe hand holding? Do they sleep with one or two pillows [or no pillows]? Do they like to watch tv before going to bed or do they go to bed straight? Do they like having a tv on the bedroom or are against it?

Both are touch starved FREAKS! (they've never been wanted nor loved in their childhood... :[ ) (though I wanna add, Sephiroth was touch repulsed at first as a defense mechanism, and Tsizilia always felt attacked personally by it. She understood Seohiroth had a difficult life, yet her mindset always tells her it's becasue of HER, that SHE is the problem.)

Unless it's really hot outside or we had an argument, being kept close is NECCESSARY! (Sephiroth and Tsizilia are both VERY possessive, it is ALMOST borderline toxic but hey! Blame the world, not them! It's just, both of them have a certain fear: fear of abandonment. For YEARS people have always avoided them, never appreciated them, and were treated like objects. So, it is no surprise they act this way once they truly got together. They're both scared shitless one or the other might run away.)

So, yea! snuggling is definitive! :D

Sephiroth sleeps with one pillow, while Tsizilia sleeps without one! She hates pillows lmao XD

We do have a TV in our room, but we actually use it more for background noise than watching, tbh. Sephiroth and I usually either go straight to sleep or talk a bit before it. Sometimes when one of us or both of us cannot sleep (niiightmaaares~), we turn on the TV and watch (and maybe talk about it) until sleepiness hits again.

Let's play a little game - do you like to play video games together? Or does one like to watch the other as they play? If the game is for only one player, do you like to take turns (maybe one of you is better/less scared/etc at a section of the game/a boss). What about board games? What do you like to play? Cards, uno, monopoly, dominoes? Who wins everytime? Are any of you competitive?

Tsizilia is the gamer girl in the relationship HAHAHA XD😂 She's the one who plays, and Sephiroth is the one who watches. He does pretend like he is annoyed for being dragged to watch, but he enjoys to see his love having fun, and who knows, some of the games do kiiinda look interesting-... I mean what- who said that--

If the game is strategically-oriented, BOI- SEPHIE ALWAYS FUCKING NAILS IT. The victory is 100% assured I SWEAR. I CAN CONFIRM. (experience of being a general and fighting on the battle field). Sephiroth actually gets invested into the planning so much he FORGETS that hes supposed to be upset LOOOL😭😭😭

If it's a two player game, oh boy, that's such CHAOS- Tsizilia can't get serious and giggles every five seconds, making both of them loose so they have to start again, and Sephiroth is fighting for his life not to get angry because 'its a game' HAHAHAHA-

And board games? Also a DISASTER. Those two fuckers are SUCH TRYHARDERS, and both HATE to loose. You can imagine the COMPETITIVE ENERGY those two share, it's almost like they're ENEMIES ready to pounce on one another on the battlefield💀 Even the most dumb ones, like UNO. It literally feels tense like you're watching a duel between cowboys🥶

But teamed up? Good luck, bro, you'll need it😅 it's almost impossible to loose against them. Only two persons has succeededin beating them BOTH at the same time. (Genesis and Junior😈 [my other s/i and their companion.])
