Completed the Shenkuu Stamp collection some time ago, so it was only fair to draw my girl Mirsha

i know travis guiding them was 100% travis and not in character as chet bc he didn’t even have the voice going, but i also would like to imagine that chet did exactly that.
i like it generally bc he has moments like that where he drops the chaos when things get serious (i’ll never forget watching him and orym talk about will and realizing that oh god, under all those layers of whatever the fuck is going on with him, he cares so much).
but i really like it in this specific situation too bc i’m pretty sure imogen was the one to step up after his confession and immediately say they weren’t going to leave him, and i can totally see him avoiding the conversation in the moment but then stepping up to guide her and taking it really seriously out of appreciation.

I think that part of what like. kills me about the whole media literacy and critical thinking aspect of enjoying media these days is that people refuse to like. contextualize that
A. Bad media can still hold significant meaning to people
B. Media made for a demographic you aren’t apart of is not inherently bad media
C. Media made for and consumed by the opposite demographic is not inherently shallow or flawed nor is it above criticism for its media tropes either.

🔥 for Engage
I love most of Ivy's character but I wish her "I clung onto this one thing for salvation for my shitty situation because no one could take it from me and it was my way of rebelling against my terrible environment" was like. Literally anything other than Alear. Not even because it's an inherently bad thing, because it would be super interesting... if, like, Alear wasn't the player character and it didn't look so much like this is just more Look How Cool The Player Is Everyone Loves Them So Much

I really like how unlike the older games, Baldur's Gate 3 doesn't make you pick an alignment to cherry pick your dialogue choices. Instead, you're the ultimate factor in determining whether you're doing good or bad things. Your actions speak for themselves and your companions and the larger world deems you heroic or villainous based on their own standards. Your class and background say so much more than a 9-part alignment chart could ever do. Who's gonna listen to the noble Paladin of Tyr preaching their agenda when they can have a good time with some random half-elf Bard with devilishly handsome looks and eyeliner who's saying exactly what you want to hear? I'll listen to that hot Bard, thank you. I heard he's working his way through all his hot companions one by one. Could be more efficient, but he knows his limits and I respect that.

Honestly though, this (what Ashe is pointing out) is exactly why I don't think GW could possibly end well. There's no "talking it over" after all the bloodshed (especially bloodshed started by them, and especially bloodshed started by them that didn't have to happen).
The way the narration leaves it "open" too at the end of GW just comes across as "it failed". It feels like... a kind of pointless story?
And I know some people might think that since Dimitri personally isn't as deeply affected by losing Matthias and so might be willing, that's still no good if his people and closest allies aren't. Rodrigue and Sylvain wouldn't be so forgiving, and I do think Dimitri would follow suit because that's his father (Rodrigue)'s closest friend and one of his own closest friends' father.
Add that to the fact that they have Sreng to deal with still (and I imagine sooner or Sylvain would figure out that Leicester had a hand in provoking Sreng to attack Faerghus) on top of losing Matthias and I imagine all the stress and aggravation wouldn't bode well for Leicester as far as Claude's thinking of things working out goes.
I just really can't see where GW goes afterward that would be "good" or works in Claude's favor at all. Maybe that was the intention and it was meant to be a route with a completely tragic ending, but apparently there are players who think it would end well and whatnot and I just can't see that happening (both from Faerghus' end and from Adrestia's end, the latter of which Claude discussed within GW itself).
If their intention was for a totally tragic ending, like yeah, I can see that... but as always the writing muddies the waters to make it sound good while something bad is happening. It keeps trying to have a positive spin on bad things as if they're just afraid to commit to a fully bad ending.

Have we as a society figured out a way to tell your friend that you cried over something their dnd character is doing without making the friend feel guilty. Have we sourced that anywhere.

the hi3 players looking at genshin players and new players enter the fandom of hsr and saying that no way hoyoverse will let us play as dead characters which means all playable characters are safe from death:
remember kallen is playable
remember himeko is playable
remember the day you vanished with the stars event
remember flamechasers are playable
all hi3 players who are traumatized and went through pain: yeah... haha... wouldn't that be tragic...

I forgot to post anything about this, but I did the scene where I had to read some of my writing to the dnd party (twice!) and they were SO nice about it. I couldn't stop smiling. (which was kind of a weird disconnect since the scenes were super dark, lmao.) But augh, I'm so glad they were nice to meeee. My poor boy Rook is Going Through It right now, and things are about to get worse.
Next session we also might get to do our first version of ship combat using the rules I made which is kind of wild. I'm very nervous, but I feel like after this last session and sharing stuff I wrote with them (out loud!!!) I can handle it. Probably.
