When freddy mercury passed away, Crowley was inconsolable and took a year long nap that Aziraphale had to wake him up from.

Your in-depth posts literally have me FOAMING AT THE MOUTHH I don't have much time to read longer books due to school but I wanna feed my obsession so do you have any books on the shorter side or some websites/archives I can research/read a bit quicker? now this is a tricky question because im absolutely insane and ive barely ever read short books. right now im reading His Excellency by Joseph J Ellis and i recommend it!! its only around 2-300 pages which is the shortest history book ive got VSJWBW primary sources can be really good to get in book form, things like Common Sense by Thomas Paine, Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior (Washington’s rule book), and Memoir of Lieut. Col. Tench Tilghman, Secretary and aid to Washington are all primary sources i have on my shelf that are short and sweet.

i also have Hercules Mulligan by Micheal J. Obrien which i haven’t read but is VERY small. there is also James Monroe by Gary Hart which is short but i have not finished (i dont even truly remember reading it but i annotated part of it apparently), The Drillmaster of Valley Forge by Paul Lockhart is a little longer than those others, but still isn’t chernow levels of wrong, but i also haven’t read that one. Thomas Jefferson and the Tripoli Pirates by Brian Kilmeade and Don Yaeger isn’t the most serious history book, but it is pretty good and an easy read.

as for secondary source websites, start with encyclopedias ie Britannica, which post short articles on different historical figures and events that give you the overview. from there im gonna point you to the National Park Service. this is the best thing the US government has ever made for researchers. this is all your battlefields, winter encampments, historical reproductions, and former capitals. also check out private residences turned museums, such as Mount Vernon, Monticello, and Schuyler Mansion. these institutions have an abundance of easily accessible information on more than just the people who lived there.

now the Library of Congress was a good decision on Jefferson’s part, but it can be inaccessible if you don’t know how to use it well because their website is one of my least favorite things about being alive. so instead, i recommend using Founders Online for any primary source regarding the founding fathers or amrev figures. the Washington Papers are filled to the brim with almost everything that went out of headquarters during all 8 years of the war. founders online is the shit

all of these websites i’ve mentioned are free to access, because i do not pay money on any research tools besides books out of spite for late stage capitalism. also any primary source is 100% accessible online. that includes memoirs and court transcripts, which can be very helpful

also i really do recommend watching documentaries and informational videos on the subjects you’re interested in while doing work or other things if you’re someone who does that (ik some people don’t have background noise but im just assuming you’re as neurodivergent as i am) because you can absorb just a little of that information and it being about a subject of interest can make academics seem a little less miserable!

i hope this is helpful and if you have absolutely any further questions, feel free to ask. i know im very privileged to have the time and resources to read long ass books, which is why i very freely share the information i absorb with the public bc i believe education should never be gatekept by anyone. so if you have any questions, im happy to research them for you, or at least point you in the right direction. love ya!!

Michael arrived at the venue along with the rest of his band. Tonight you and your band (Matricide) were preforming in a club where most of the leading English bands in the world started out . The both of you have been almost inseparable ever since Razzle introduced you both.

He separated from his friends to go find you backstage like he usually does.

“I’m glad you made it!” you greet as you spot the blonde enter the fire exit to the backstage room.

He smiled and pulled you into a tight hug, “I’m happy to be here. When do you have to be on?”

“Erm,” you looked across the room to the smashed clock on the wall. You cringed.

“about twenty-five minutes ago,” your lead singer, Pixie, huffed annoyed, “now he’s here can we go?”

Micheal chuckled, “You were waiting for me?”

“Course she was!” Your drummer laughed, obviously already drunk, “she’s in love with you, blondie.”

“Fuck off” you rolled yours eyes. He laughed again before leaning down to kiss you.

“I’ll be in the crowd,” he winked.

Michael approached his friends at the bar to witness the end of what seemed to be Nasty and Razzle making fun of Michael and you.

“Oh Mikey! I love you so much!” Razzle flailed his arms around nasty’s neck. Sami cackled loudly.

“Sä oot ihaninta mitä mulle on tapahtunut,” Nasty flung his head back dramatically. Razzle didn’t know what it meant but he still found it stupidly hilarious.

“You two make a cute couple,” Michael huffed.

“We definitely would,” Nasty twirled a strand of Razzle’s hair whilst fluttering his eyelids. Sami’s drink came out of his nose from laughing so hard and the pair’s antics.

Micheal rolled his eyes, “When have you ever heard me say something like that?”

“Oh please you always talk like that to her,” Andy chuckled.

Before Micheal could say anything else, they heard the cheering of the crowd and turn round to see the band run onto the stage.

“Time to fight to front,” Sami shrugged.

The music was loud as ever as you tap your feet to the beat to stay in rhythm, occasionally head banging and jumping on the flimsy stage. The boys cheered and occasionally sang along in the dancing crowd and you smiled at them every chance you got.

The audience cheered and screamed loudly during your bass solo where Pixie held a bottle of Smirnoff to your mouth as you drank. Just as the singer moved the empty bottle you looked at your boyfriend and winked.

During the ten minute break you quickly ran down the stage and wasted no typed in wrapping your arms around Michael’s neck and pulling him into a deep starving kiss. He moved his hands down to hold your waist to pull you impossibly close to him.

Your lips separated and you admired the man before you’s lipstick smeared lips. When he caught his breath he asked “What was that for?”

“You just looked so beautiful from up there,” you answered with a mischievous grin, “and the vibrations of playing does stuff to me.”

“I love you,” Micheal said to you for the first time.

You smiled even wider and kissed his cheek, “I love you too, pretty boy.”

Andy whistled loudly bringing your attention to Razzle and Nasty making kissy faces. “Awww ain’t this lovely,” Sami teased, “your both too cute.”

Before you could reply to the boys ridiculous jokes you noticed your manager on the steps of the stage. “Ah shit. I gotta get back up there.”

And with that you ran through the audience and up to the rest of the band getting ready to begin the second set.

Ooh, a good question!! ❤️ Victoria and Michael do love watching films together at the end of a day while they spend time with each other after all. 🥰

I would say Victoria's favourite actors/actresses are Marilyn Monroe (💓!!), Vivien Leigh, Cary Grant and Humphrey Bogart. She's a fan of Alfred Hitchcock's films for sure. Her favourite films would be "Notorious" (1946) "Casablanca" (1942) and "Niagara" (1953).

Michael probably likes Ingrid Bergman's films too considering he saw one with Kay way before 😂 Gary Cooper, and Montgomery Clift, I definitely think!

Tom had said in the first film he was a fan of Jack Woltz's movies. I have no idea what kind of films Jack Woltz makes, but considering Johnny Fontane was in one of them, I think Tom as well as Sonny would probably be into the more dramatic, thrilling films. Maybe with some violence as well? Lmao.

I think Connie would enjoy dramatic films too, maybe romantic comedies as well. 💞

what’s your phone wallpaper : I have separate pictures for the lock screen and home screen. The first one is of Ankha but the second is of Blue and Harley in my old apartment back in 2021. It was the only decent picture I have of those two together without them trying to kill each other. Harley looks quite offended that Blue is near her in this.

what are you wearing right now : Black sweatpants and light blue t-shirt. Also wearing a navy sweatshirt because it’s kind of chilly in my place.

piercings / tattoos? : I have one piercing on each ear lobe. I used to have piercings elsewhere like studs on the side of the nose, Monroe piercing (a kind of lip piercing meant to look like a beauty mark), and ear cartilage piercings. I took them off except the ear lobe piercings years ago, but if I still have them, then I would have to take them off because of work.

I have several tattoos though. I have moon phases running down my spine with a purple and blue watercolor background and black stars. I also have a stylized jaguar with a moon behind it on my left shoulder blade. This matches my twin sister's tattoo but hers has a sun instead of a moon. My left forearm also has a purple crystal wrapped with vines and pink flowers. There are small purple and black stars above the right collarbone. I had several black and purple stars on my right upper arm, but I have a half sleeve of flowers to cover it up since I always wanted floral sleeve. I need to get it colored in though. It's just I haven't done it yet because it can get expensive.

The studio I go to now charges about $150 an hour, so I can't get it colored right away. The price is typical for most tattoo studios and the artists deserve that for all the hard work they put into the tattoos. Also debating on changing artist or studio since I haven't really clicked with my current artist in the past three appointments. I would love to go back to an Indigenous studio like I did in ND. I would like to get a couple more tats after the sleeve.

glasses ? contacts? : Glasses. I struggle with contacts because of how sensitive my eyes can be. I have tried with contacts for years but they never work out.

last thing you ate? : Indian taco (it's also called by other names like Dakota taco. It's basically a taco but instead of a shell or tortilla, it's on fry bread.)

current obsession : Right now, trying to get my last paper done and work towards prepping for comps and dissertation.

Naura went to an award show! Unforantuly, our queen didn't win anything. Though, her best friend Belle'Anna won an award! After the award show, Throne Bailey threw a party. Naura is literally dancing with the stars!!

Lights! Camera! Action! Naura Johnson shows her face again! Making her first appearance at an award show. Sorry, Naura is a working Mama! Even though she gave up the nightlife to take care of her family, she now has her own team to take care of all that. She was nominated for her supporting performance in a Simflix movie starring Emmett Hines and Stacy McNair. Giving her the access she needed to the outside life. Sadly she didn't win because her bestie won! Hey! A win is a win. The great Thorne Bailey hosted this huge party back at his mansion.

Stepping into the kitchen Naura smiles at her best friend, "Can you believe my oldest is in high school? Where did the time go?" Time really does fly by. Just yesterday they were going to brunch with the Martinez twins, Micheal, and Jer'ish. Every once and a while, go-getter Naura does check in on them. The great and wonderful Jer'ish Jasmine Lloyd-Darling owns her own art gallery and married Belle'Anna's older brother, Maverick Darling. Her art gallery is homed to misfortunate kids who don't have the funds to put their own artwork out there. She gets it honestly though. She had a good life but she grew up poor while her cousins Essme, Estelle, and Chanel lived like kings. The twins are actors and Micheal is a stripper working at "Mav's Den". Something that shook everyone, the two who ever spoke much to one another Aspen and Micheal got married! Sadly, Luna and Monroe didn't work out. Monroe Martinez is now a bachelor.

The chatter around them grew louder when Belle took a sip of her drink that almost spilled all over her as she shook her head agreeing with Naura, "Sh*t, I still can't believe Maverick has kids." The two walk over to a counter with napkins. Belle begins drying off her shirt, "Also, still shocked I'm married to a white man."

Poor Belle wasn't aware of what she just walked into. With Naura following behind she starts to feel the effects of becoming tipsy, though she's still maybe 92% sober. Still, she's feeling a bit reckless, "I guess you can thank Aspen for breaking your heart."

Oh, don't we all just love our high school years? The Martinez siblings were probably the most impressionable thing for Belle'Anna. She was what many call a "h*e" in back then. Belle and Naura called it "having fun". As if the two of them didn't have enough of that. Hell, Naura ended up pregnant her senior year. There's no way for this to not sound bad, but Belle dated both of the Martinez Twins. She and Aspen started dating her junior year, while she and Monroe were behind the scenes. No one knew about their fling, even to this day.

"Look here you teen pregnancy wal-" Before this very dramatic scene could happen. The two were interrupted by a screaming drunk Thorne streaking throughout the house and into the pool! And on that note, Octavia ended the party. Even though the party ended before 12, the girls had a very impressionable night. By the way, their argument continued when Brayton picked up Naura. Belle laid them hands on Naura and Colt had to break up the fight. The next morning both the Johnsons' and Wiliiams' attended a brunch date. Nothing and I mean nothing will end these two girls' friendship. I mean hello, Porsha married Naura's father and gave them a sister!

Grace is a very interesting character to mean, perhaps best summarized by Lindsay Katai describing her somewhat paradoxically as a “mean girl full of love.” I think it’s interesting, because usually the archetype of “troubled yet spoiled rich girl” in the media usually starts out cold and snobbish (ex., Gravity Falls’ Pacifica Northwest, The Owl House’s Amity Blight, RWBY’s Weiss Schnee). Not to say Grace does not demonstrate those characteristics, but she puts on a very charismatic and friendly mask as leader  of the Apex. And further still, her journey from charming cult leader to a genuinely caring and penitent person is fascinating to watch unfold over the course of the season.

The flashbacks from her tape explain a lot about the foundation of who Grace becomes. From her parents, we can see how she felt neglected and ignored. She wanted her parents, but they did not care to make time for her, shoving her off on tutors, caretakers, instructors, anybody that means that they don't have to deal with her. They held her to high standards, pushing her into contests and controlling what she wore and how she did her hair. But they also did things like use their status to keep her out of trouble for things like shoplifting. These things gave her both a sense of importance of status, but also left her with very low self esteem. This was furthered by her lack of friends, where upon feeling hurt and rejected by the other girls at the dance class, she lashed out at them to make herself feel better. However, given her serious tone when recounting the incident to Hazel, and evidently counts it among her worst memories, I think deep down, despite the satisfaction at causing the other girls to argue, she knew it wouldn’t help her make friends or make up for the lack of attention from her parents, things she really wanted.

This manifested in how Grace led the Apex, with the tribute scene being a prime example. She has the children give her gifts, a way to reinforce her position as leader. But she also acts grateful for the gifts, personally thanking each child by name even if the gifts are not very good. This makes the children feel like she cares about them, and they have a special relationship. Given her own past, it seems she is trying to be nice to the kids and keep them happy. It’s notable that she generally tries keeping her temper with them, as shown in Debutante Ball Car with Hazel and trying to talk to Lucy in The New Apex. Still, we can look at the darker interactions with Lucy, where she takes a mocking tone to chide her for referring to the stagelight denizen as a ‘person’. We can also look at the end of The Mall Car, where she coldly tries to get Jesse to fall in line by convincing him it’s in his best interest to be rid of Lake. I think the issue here is that while she does genuinely care, she never properly processed the way her parents affected her. Hence that her way of trying to keep people with her is to make herself seem important to them. I think it’s less about control and more having issues actually relating to people due half of her life being spent under neglect and even emotional abuse while also being spoiled, and the other half on the Train with little chance for socialization.

Grace is not someone who has an easy time being vulnerable. As I said, despite her bravado she has little genuine self esteem. She fears that if she shows her weakness or vulnerability to others, they might reject her. So instead, she puts on the facade of the confident leader, and approaches new people by trying to figure what they might want her to say in order to get them to listen to her. Writer Justin Micheal says “Grace: she keeps a lot inside, and a lot from other people because of her fear, and that was veryyyy hard to explicitly convey in the shifting narrative since she rarely talked about it out loud.” However, by spending time with Hazel, she begins to open up. Hazel is a sweet little girl who does not care about Grace’s pretenses, and the shift starts when Hazel reassures her over the story about the ice cream incident, which Grace is touched by. In the next episode she opens up to Simon about her worry over numbers. And following Tuba’s death, she allows herself to grieve for her and tries to comfort and protect Hazel. Unfortunately, she tries to do so by encouraging Hazel to hide her true self from Simon. This is both from a desire to keep them both with her, and also probably again from her response to issues being to hide them and put on an act in order to keep things calm. She is forced to acknowledge this in the finale, realizing how she handled her fear of being alone, and admitting to the Apex that she was wrong and that they need to find their own path.

Another thing I thought was interesting, was Grace’s use of physical contact. She often uses this in both genuine and manipulative ways. I noted that a common gesture she used was to put her hands on someone’s shoulder. She does this repeatedly to Jesse in The Mall Car, and to Hazel in the Jungle Car. It’s a bit of a patronizing gesture, in a way, making her seem more confident and in charge than the other person. I also think it’s interesting that Simon attempts to imitate this gesture with Jesse in The Mall Car, with Hazel at the end of The Color Clock Car, and even Grace herself in The Origami Car. She also touches Lucy and Hazel’s faces when giving or trying to give a spiel about her beliefs about the Train, another somewhat domineering gesture.

With Simon, she is more casual, often putting her arm around him and playing with his hair. While there is a lot to say about their dynamic, she feels most comfortable around him. She even hugs him following their heart to heart on the stairs in Le Chat Chalet Car. And as her relationship with Hazel becomes more genuine, so do the displays of affection. She holds her hand a few times throughout the Debutante Ball Car, and they have fun in the snowball fight and on the slide. Then after Tuba’s death, she stops being so comfortable around Simon, with the scene in The Hey Ho Whoa Car where she uses her previous gestures of affection as an attempt to keep him on her side, and otherwise not wanting him to touch her, However, she hugs Hazel at least four times in comfort throughout the The Campfire Car and The Canyon of the Golden Winged Snakes Car. There’s also her general protective body language as she holds Hazel in the scenes with Amelia in the cave and on the bridge. Lastly, since I mentioned the shoulder touch as a more manipulative gesture, I think it is very interesting that Lucy uses it in a sincere attempt to comfort Grace over Simon’s death. A nice touch to the theme about trying to improve things.

So all in all, Grace is a very fascinating character to me, and I love watching her character arc and seeing how nuanced she is.
