A/N: Hi everyone! Long time no see, right? Anyways, After rereading this multiple times i realised thsi dosent really go with eachother but i have no motivation to make a whole new fic, so you guys will have to live w me writing badly. Also remember this is my 3rd time ever writing a fic, so bear with me! Alright enoigh peptalk, heres the little blurb i wrote at 2am..

Today was valentines day, and the boys at umich had a hockey game today. The valentines game, as they call it.

There was 10 minutes left of the last period and michigan were under by 3-4 against ohio state. The whole team was tired, sweating and taking out the last of their energy.

As they call out that theres 1 minute left of the game they start losing hope. But all of a sudden, Rutger gets a chance at a free net and he SCORES! The game was now tied 4-4. The last period ended and overtime begun. Only 34 seconds into the first OT, ethan edwards scores and michigan wins 5-4OT.

A few hours pass and everyone starts heading home. You finally get to see your boyfriend, rut. He had changed out of his hockey gear and was wearing just some pj pants and a grey tee.

'Rut! You did so good out there!' You say, smiling softly, hugging him and giving him a small peck on the lips.

'Aw thank you baby' Rutger cooes, looking down at you with his ocean blue eyes. 'I got you something' He purrs, revealing the beautiful red roses he got you. 'Happy valentines sweets'

'Rut.. I love them! i have something for you too, but its at home' You say innocently. 'Should we head home pretty boy?'

'Sure, love' He answers, leading you to the car. He opens your door for you before getting into the drivers seat.

The radio turns on, "Head over heels" by tears for fears is playing. 'Your so beautiful, y/n. Im so glad i met you' Rutger says smiling softly, looking into your eyes.

'I love you so much, rut.' I say, feeling like the happiest girl on earth.

As we step out of the car outside the apartment, the wind hits us with a swoosh. It feels chilly against our skin, but enjoyable. We head up to the apartment and ass song and we closed the door behind us i melt into his arms.

Our lips meet in a passionate, but romantic kiss. He places one hand on my waist and one on my neck. It feels like im kissing him for the first time again. Its like our lips were made for eachother. His lips are soft like clouds, and feel like heaven. He pulls away for a second to look at me. He smiles as he looks at me with the most lovable expression on his face.

'Now, what was that suprise of yours?' Rutger cooes. He says, holding his hand on my waist steady.

'I got myself a hockey jersey with your lastname on it, to show everyone im yours' I say sweetly.

'Sweet girl, put that on right now i need to see you in it' He says desperatly.

I go put on the jersey over my tight dress im wearing.

'Sooo, what do you think?' I say, looking at him with innocent eyes.

'I think its beautiful, just like you' He purrs, pulling me in for a loving kiss. He pulls away, and says: 'The goal i scored today, was for you. Only you. Thats why we call it the valentines game, where we score for our loved ones'

"oh my, baby... i don't even need to see your face to know what's up. here am i trying to tell you about my day... but you just can't help yourself, hm? ...pathetic."

lately, darlin’s only issues were making it to pack meetings on time and stealthily stealing flannels out of sam’s side of the closet (it never worked) but as the end of october approached, they became more and more anxious. when they heard that william dropped this responsibility upon vincent, they were already worried. then, to add on, porter bringing an unempowered was helping absolutely no one. the more they thought about everything, the worse it got. then they realized…

to say they hadn’t thought about alexis before now would be a lie. they weren’t the most secure person in the beginning of their relationship with sam. they constantly used her as a comparison, despite never even seeing her. they dwelled on the idea of her and sam. so, to think of meeting her now: well that was a whole other feat.

“darlin’ are you getting re-“ sam halted in the doorframe, admiring his mate with long glances

darlin’ dressed in the most extravagant pieces of cloth and jewelry they would have never picked off of a shelf

“oh god do i look stupid” darlin’ scoffed, “and you have to be honest”

“no no that’s definitely not what it is. quite frankly, it’s the opposite” sam said, still in awe of his jaw-dropping partner

darlin’ wrapped their arms around sam’s neck, “well, im glad you think so” they chuckled

as they pulled up to SkySide, darlin’ could feel their hands getting clammy as they tapped their foot (which was accessorized with a shoe they may have categorized as gaudy just a few years ago)

“i’m nervous too- and it’s not even my first time” sam laughed timidly “we’ll be okay, i promise”

they both got out of the car, locking arms with one another

after about an hour of what darlin’ felt was playing pretend, they saw her

now you may wonder how they knew it was her but they knew

there she stood. a satin red dress about ankle length, black stilettos, sharp eyeliner with a dark red lip, and a large diamond jewelry set that perfectly accentuated her silver eyes and bloodless dull skin

she was gorgeous. she seemed to exist so effortlessly. the bubbly drink being so delicately held in her hand, no lipstick marks on the glass. it was a lot to take in. even more so when she started getting closer.

“oh fuck fuck fuck” darlin’ was what one could say….panicking

they stood up from the table that had ‘SHAW PACK’ on a card in the center

angel, milo, and sweetheart were the only ones at the table while everyone else was socializing

like a train wreck, they were all tempted to watch this interaction but knew it was best to look away

“it’s not polite to stare love” alexis taunted, the inclination of her voice was sultry, delectable to hear

darlin’ took longer than they should’ve to respond, and when they did, it came out wavering, “i’m sorry, i wasn’t meaning to seem rude”

“i’m just teasing, but the other people in this place may not take so kindly” alexis looked down at the table as their packmates looked at anything else but her, as if it were a crime to make eye contact. until she looked back at darlin’. “ah…i see why you were staring. so, you’re the new partner. the shifter, correct?”

darlin’ didn’t know what to say. they knew how to deal with physical fights and intense arguments, but that’s not what this was. something about her was intimidating. not because they were afraid of her strength or power, but because of her demeanor and how much preface they had about her.

“yeah that’s right” they finally gained some needed confidence “you’re alexis?”

“mhm, in the undead flesh” she lightly chuckled and showed her unnaturally white teeth and prominent piercing fangs

seconds felt like hours of silence before there was a noticeable shift in alexis’ attitude; it seemed as though she got tired of the flawless manners she once had.

“let’s get this straight.” she leaned closer into darlin’s side “i don’t know you. i don’t want to know you. i really could not care less about you” she took a mere pause. “or sam. whatever these idiots have told you about me, is probably right to be quite honest. but i do not care. they don’t seem to understand that i am a powerful person, more powerful than they care to think, so don’t fuck me or my clan up.”

alexis leaned back away from darlin. “silver isn’t really your color by the way. other than that, nice outfit. have a good night” she barely uttered that last sentence as she walked away, leaving darlin in a state of shock

conveniently, sam rushed over to meet darlin as they sat down.

“jesus christ, she really couldn’t just leave you alone” sam groaned, rubbing his temple

“it’s alright, “it really wasn’t that bad” darlin assured him while grabbing his hand to rest it on their thigh

“that was insane” david’s mate added “she is seriously a bitch”

darlin hit them, reminding them that they are accompanied nearly exclusively by people with famously good hearing

then they all skipped away holding hands into the moonset because the sunset would hurt 🌈😚🌝

orpheus is perhaps one of the most mysterious people in the manor since he doesn't have a lot of friends, nor does he interact with a lot of people

it's no different when you appear in the manor - however, orpheus is VERY good at reading people, and can sense if someone's too dangerous to be near them

even though he never directly approached you, you could see him lurking around the shadowy corners of the manor, his eyes following you each time you walked through the corridors

he's very fascinated, indeed, but doesn't want to approach you first since you seem like the type of person that doesn't tolerate any bullshit (/hj)

...sooo your initial proper meeting would be in a place where orpheus lurks often (aka the library)

you approached him, asking if he had a book you were trying to borrow

he leads you towards a bookcase, and as you're inspecting the covers, you hear him slowly yet clearly whisper behind you

"i thought things like books were not an assassin's field of interest."

you turned around, dumbfounded - how could he possibly know? it's something you've been keeping a secret from even your closest friends, for god's sake. he didn't even interact with you once during your time in the manor. something was up

you slowly approached him, muttering: "i... don't know who told you that, or how do you know, but all i'm asking from you is to keep it a secret." your hand roamed your thigh, taking out a sharpened switchblade and pointing it at him. "that secret goes into the grave with both me and you."

he was unphased, his neutral, lost-in-thought expression still in tact even after your threat. "i'm fine with that. alright then, you can continue searching. i'm only glad i clarified my suspicions."

after that orpheus wasn't to be seen around, yet you felt like he was constantly watching you, making you randomly shiver and look around in fear

yet one day, you hear an unexpected knock on the door, and oh boy guess who it is?? your brand new secret keeper in the flesh - orpheus himself

he just came to give you a book he thought you'd like - still weird. but as you open the first page, a letter falls out

it's undoubtedly his sharp, curved writing, the words confessing of how he sensed (and deduced) that you were an assassin, and an apology for the scare he gave you

it was peculiar, but you found yourself frequently turning towards the library afzer that, inhaling the smell of book paper and watching orpheus scrape the yellowed paper with his quill as if he was a precise machine

you decide to start chatting with him to pass the time

once his stern façade slowly dropped, you both realized it was really pleasant talking to each other - orpheus was like a crypted safe filled with treasure, and with each of his witty sentences and remarks you heard a click

he likes writing detective novels and often casually asks you detailed things about murder, or inspects your blades (if you let him)

"___, is hitting someone with a blunt object and blaming it on internal bleeding due to high blood pressure a good way to murder someone without getting caught?" "i suppose so. it depends on the other factors." "splendid."

he's not the best with speaking to someone in person so he confesses to you via letters - his letters could truly be considered his magnum opus. he puts so much love in them, every single sentence making you red and showing his love in the purest way possible

even though he's a romantic at heart pushing out his cute side will take some time

his love language is a mix of giving gifts and quality time - he's incredibly thoughtful with every gift he gives you, from a first-release edition of your favourite book from an antique shop, to a bouquet of your favorite flowers and to a small blade with a beautiful painted handle. of course, he likes both giving and receiving words of affirmation too, but he does it best on paper

if you're touchy it might take some time for him to get comfortable so he starts off with simple gestures like wrapping his arms around your waist or resting his head on your shoulder when he's behind you (it's his favorite thing in the world :'D)

just give him lots of time and space to get comfortable around you, he's truly a great partner and probably the best person you can be next to <3

I just finished your Electric Organisms fic series on ao3 and i just wanted to express some sentiments towards your work "^^

1. The fics are so damn good aaa it infected my brain so much i would regularly tell my best friend all about it even though she doesnt watch star trek

2. The fact you dug up unused scenes and scripts and wrote them into fics is so damn cool!! Also may i ask where you found those?

3. Your character writing is so well done, i was so disappointed they didnt explore Geordis personality more in the show. I love that you went into his family background and mental health properly also I honestly love that he just gets to be happy a lot of the time, the show constantly made him suffer for some reason

4. The drawings are such a nice addition to the fics and theyre sooo well drawn <3

5. The way u handled the Fajo&Borg queen assualt implications was so well written. Im still angry the movies and show basically dropped the whole thing and never went into what it would do to datas mental state

6. The romance was so well written i cant- i dont usually read romance but maaan was i invested in this one <333

I swear you basically rewrote the entire series while fixing all the shitty parts and making the good parts *sparkly*

Also just the raw amount of stuff you wrote is crazy impressive!!!!

Believe me, I'm also surprised how much I've written for this series since I started it in June 2022. I didn't expect a one-shot fic that came from Brent Spiner saying he much rather would've found Geordi instead of Spot in the Enterprise-D wreck to have led to all this.

GUHHHHHH AUGHGGHJHHH..... FIONNA AND CAKE FINALE SPOILERS.... IM IN A RAMBLING MOOD

I EXPECTED TO BE SOBBING MY EYES OUT (which i almost did) BUT NO THIS ENDING WAS SOOO... GUH

IT WAS SO CUTE. FIONNA AND CAKE GOT TO HAVE THEIR MAGICAL WORLD IN A DIFFERENT WAY. SIMON STARTED GOING TO THERAPY. I LOVED IT

BUT ONCE AGAIN. I am left feeling SO BAD for Betty!!! We dont know wtf is going on with her!!! She didnt get to directly talk to Simon at all! I mean, she did in the flashback, but only for like 2 seconds. As much as I loved Simon's realization, I wanted her to be emotionally vulnerable dammit!! And I'm not saying that I thought it was a bad thing she couldn't talk, I think it's really interesting the route they went with this episode... but right now I just want to talk abt how much I LOVE BETTY. AND I WISH SHE COULDVE JUST HAD A MOMENT!!! GAHHH!

And Simon. I'm so glad he realized what he did, I was expecting the possibility of an ending where he gets what he wants and/or never realizes how one-sided the relationship is, so I'm grateful we got what we got. But I expected more emotion from him when he saw Betty again. When he was realizing what he's done to her.

I mean, this is the man who spent years yearning for her return, the man who tortured a demon for (what I'm going to assume was) MONTHS, just to have a chance at bringing her back. His collective trauma from the crown and the loss of his wife created a shell of a man. A man whose sole purpose was to try and make it all up to his wife somehow.

Yet he didn't realize that this wasn't the first time she had done this for him. So maybe, once he realized how selfish he has been, never noticing her effort...

He gained another purpose. He wanted to make it up to her in a new way. Instead of sacrificing himself aimlessly, half out of genuine love and half out of self-hatred, he chose to live for her. He chose to throw the crown away and end the cycle of self-destruction. He chose to give her peace instead of endlessly chasing her.

Simon isn't perfect, he never was. But this episode solidified, for me at least, that he truly loves Betty. He would do anything for her, and once he realized that letting her go was the only solution for both of them, that's what he did.

God damn, did this show HIT. Literally amazing. Might write a fic about Betty

tng night SIGH number four. tonight's eps were uhhh [checks] "lonely among us" and "justice." verdict: idk, i kept getting bored and looking at my phone

"lonely among us" was about a little electric thing that kept hopping bodies. this was initially kind of fun, if stupid, because it seemed SO OBVIOUS that crusher should report missing time right away and she just didn't lol

i do like that deanna finally got something to do (hypnotizing them) but it just made me remember that in tos they werent allowed to do that and this hypnotism could have been an email (vulcan mind meld). i'll get there. i just miss him.

the aliens who wanted to eat live animals were like. unfunny. especially when menacing tasha yar. idk, she always looks incredibly tense and it's starting to make me feel bad for her. she seems to hate everything. poor ms whoever is playing her

data's bit with the sherlock pipe was kinda cringe but i love him anyway. i was VERY mad when picard told him to knock it off. you're stopping him from stimming!!! leave him alone!!! also, in the next episode, he got onto him about babbling and watching data shut down in response was SOOO sad jail for picard for ONE THOUSAND YEARS im glad his ass apologized

unfortunately during the middle of the pipe thing is when i found out about the loz movie via destiel meme (ep was boring i was looking at my phone sorry) so i ruined the best part of the episode for myself

there was a moment in this episode where wesley was once again right and told to buzz off. in the next episode he does something stupid and they spend the entire time defending him. i DONT understand why it always has to be like this. i don't even dislike wesley, i just dislike the way the other characters are written is reponse to him. he's like the theo teenwolf of tng (dont get me started)

big moment in this ep was the potential mutiny. once again it's too early for this shit. i wanted some episodes where they explore planets and fight some guys (like the ferengi ep!) before we did anything deep. i bet if this happened in like seasons 3-5 i'd be beside myself about it the way i was when it almost happened in tos. but i don't like some of these guys yet, let alone care deeply about them (except data, who is my best friend).

next ep: The Sex Planet. once again, it is inappropriate to be having children on a starship, but it is especially inappropriate to send your fifteen year old """honorary""" """""ensign"""""" down to a planet that you don't know anything about except how they LOVE to fuck. the greeting party literally didn't even know what to do with him if they couldn't feel him up. he had to explain in 1987 hays code that he was a fucking virgin. maybe some research besides "they love to fuck here" would have helped with this situation but also "let's not send the 15yo to the brothel planet" would be a good line of thought too???

anyway he breaks the law has to die and theyre twisting themselves into knots over the prime directive and the setup was ACTUALLY almost interesting except they just beamed away with him in the end without finding a third option, which they could have done like 20 minutes in. also, if theyre trying not to break the prime directive, why are they allowed to tell the aliens they're from space and beam one aboard their ship? like, i actually love ethical questions posed by the prime directive, so this episode is cool on paper, but the execution flopped

oh i nearly forgot worf was bragging about his prowess in bed and how he was too much for weak human partners and riker looked SO intrigued which was like the funniest fucking thing. good for both of them. also it was androidphobia that they didn't let data go to that planet to get laid

So I’ve been Thinking about denethor and faramir and nothing else for two days. like i am a denethor girlie. in my mind. spiritually. haven’t posted much abt him on tumblr. but nowww. you’re exactly right, ‘denethor Is a good leader…[insert ur paragraph here]’ yes yes yes you get it. listen denethor was a prideful, angry, resentful man but he was also valiant, resilient and noble. He guarded his city, alone (which takes GUTS, again, he was a badass!!), so well, for literal YEARS that Sauron was fearful/wary of him. i wish people were more understanding of him. he’s such an interesting character there’s so much to explore there. as you said the duty-vs-love, the weapon-first-person-next of it all. the layers. denethor as a weapon. denethor as a symbol of both sword/shield. AAHHH

BUT i think some people dismiss him hate him bc he is the mirror (the ugly side? if that makes sense) of humanity, of us. we ought to show him some compassion tho ‘cause havent u ever been taken under the darkness of life? felt the world slipping away & struggle to keep up w it? dont u ever feel hopeless? that things will never change, no matter what u do? DO YOU HAVE FEARS HAVE YOU FACED THE MONSTERS? WERE YOU ALONE, SCARED AND HOPELESS? AND HAVENT YOU MADE MISTAKES IN YOUR GRIEF AND PUSHED PEOPLE AWAY?? THAT’S what denethor experienced. He was described as a leader & a learned one at that for christ sake. Um, LOVED IT.

Loved that SOOO much more than the last one, by LEAPS!

Though it definitely takes place early on in the show, like REALLY early

Range to give? At LEAST before The Grumpy Effect, at the absolute latest it’s before that episode

Everyone’s development and dynamics with each other completely correlates with that point in the show, ESPECIALLY when it comes to Robbie and Bluster! But I’ll talk about them later

Togetherness was so cute!! She didn’t play a major role in the episode, but what time she did have was pretty fun and I liked her character! Her voice was also really nice!

Speaking of voices, I can hear Grumpy and Tendy’s voices definitely improving from the previous special, which I’m glad to see! Still not major on them, I like both of their old ones more still, but it’s improving. Which I’ll fully congratulate!

Despite seeming to be set early on in the show, the writing is on par with later episodes, which was VERY fun to see!! Again, especially with Bluster and Rob. But again again, I’ll get to them later

The bears were really fun in this one as well, I caught myself laughing at them a lot more this time. I thought Bedtime would take a bigger role than he did, him being on the poster and all, but his role didn’t last for too long in the episode. Which was somewhat disappointing, but I love the rest of it so much I can like, honestly forgive it tbh. Like he was still there and played his part, it just wasn’t the full ep, so the Bedtime food is still pretty good!

I liked Cheer’s character here, you can definitely tell she’s in that early on “I’m the leader I’ve gotta know what I’m doing and handle the issues on my own” phase in this ep! Which again, reminds me a lot of her earlier character back when the imposter syndrome she has kicks in!

The rest of the gang was also really funny, nothing major character wise there, just great to watch. Grumpy and Funshine’s lil hug bit was cute and Share thinking Bluster and Rob were funny and cool was a FEAST for me

THEY WERE SO GOOD, BEST PART OF THE EP IDC I KNOW IM BIASED SHUT UP.

ANYWAYS, they’re the biggest reason I believe so firmly that the episode takes place really early on in the show. ESPECIALLY because of Robbie herself, I assumed it pretty quickly after she started speaking at all.

Her character arc in the show starts pretty damn early on, like episode 14 early on, and was a pretty big part of style shows small narrative. Heck, I’d argue THE biggest part of it! Anyways, what I’m saying is her character was something the show really took care of and slowburned with, and by the last episode she’s changed a lot. Her motives and behavior changes, but so does her relationship with Bluster and the bears. Her dynamic with Bluster is horrifically strained to the point they almost hate each other, and she gets along with and likes the bears. She’s not like that at ALL here. And the bears? Don’t like her either

What I’m saying is, the show REALLY cares about Robbie’s character and growth,,,and I don’t think they’d actually throw that away for this special. Especially her development with the bears themselves

So it’s gonna be near impossible to convince me that this doesn’t take place after like, pffff,, I’d say close to A Yoorg Awakening perhaps

Cause her and Bluster get along, but they still bicker, which is very reminiscent of their characters in THAT period of the show

Hell I’d say this episode could be put like, RIGHT after Yoorg Awakening and it’d fit right in

So no I don’t believe they botched the character growth, it’s just early on in the show

sooo i finally watched invader zim enter the florpus!! i was gonna wait until i finished the comics first but then i saw that apparently clembrane appears in the comics after the movie?? and i didnt want to risk getting spoiled bc yknow. the movie is when he First Appears so i thought id watch it before picking the comics back up again.

anyway, here r my thoughts on the movie down below!!

it was....pretty good!! there were a LOT of positives for me, but ultimately one major thing that i really wish could have been done better (but we'll get to that in a bit). again, i liked it, i thought it was a good movie! im gonna list all the things i especially liked followed by the things that kinda bothered me a bit so bear with me lol

positivies:

i know this is an Unpopular Opinion, but i actually rly like the art style!! i still think the show's designs r better, but i rly RLY liked how vibrant and smooth the animation was in this film. plus movies based on animated series already tend to have a slightly different art style anyway (the spongebob movies and the mlpfim movie come to mind) so i didnt mind the change. add to that the fact that this movie came out 17 years after the shows cancellation and its no wonder that jhonen vasquez's art has changed since then, plus i'd imagine there was a much bigger art/animation team this time around. anyway ofc i rly loved the part where they Enter The Florpus (lol get it) and go thru all the different art/animation styles, i loooovee stuff like that and i think every animated production should do smth like that at least once solely bc i love it so much. for me

clembrane is rly funny and i love him. im glad hes here now. dib and gaz have TWO dads

PROF. MEMBRANE WAS SO FUCKING COOL????? like omg i was NOT expecting him to be so badass in this???? when he shot the giant fucking Laser Blast out of his arms and wiped out all those robots my jaw DROPPED i was in SHOCK!!!! he was hiding all that power this whole time????? DAMN no wonder hes considered one of the most important scientists on earth

the humor was really fucking funny as always w iz LOLLLL there were multiple points that made me laugh out loud. special shoutout to the callback they made to mortos der soulstealer where zim and dib are yelling at each other and zim keeps going "WHAT????" ASKDJALSKDJ thats one of my fav jokes from the show so im glad they did that here

gir aka my fav was SOOO CUUUTEEE his stupid little peace song was so funny and adorable, i love p much everything he does in this movie as usual SDKJFLDSKJ gir my beloved

even if i have some issues w it (which we'll get to shortly), i DO like seeing that dibs family really do care for him, particularly prof. membrane. hearing him say he was proud of dib did make me smile

im not entirely sure how i feel abt the tallests canonically dying, but i do think its a funny way to kill them off and end their story. like.....ofc they die bc theyre too entitled to steer their spaceship. what else would they die from SAKFJLSDKJ

all that being said, there was one major thing that kind of bugged me a bit, as well as a few minor nitpicks.

negatives:

starting off with my biggest issue, and this might be a confusing one for some, but let me explain: in my opinion, compared to the show, this movie felt just a bit too.....sanitized? "feel-good"-ish? ....happy?? now just hear me out. a large part of what made invader zim so appealing, especially to that older tween/young teen crowd (many of whom fell into the emo subculture), is the fact that, compared to other kids cartoons at the time and even today, it was a very mean-spiritied, cynical, pessimistic show. the main protagonist is a villain trying to take over the world. his rival is the show's antagonist, so audiences may find themselves rooting against him even tho hes trying to save the world. gaz is on no one's side but her own and frequently bullies her brother and does not care what happens to zim. and it works!! thats a key factor in why so many people, myself included, like the show. it isnt afraid to have unhappy/unsatisfying endings, and there are very few "happy" moments (aside from gir, ofc, who is a fan favorite for this reason; his happiness in spite of the dark world around him is a great source of irony and genuine enjoyment). and i feel like this movie lacks a lot of that cynicism and bitterness from the show, yknow? like....i like dib and i want him to succeed, but part of his appeal is knowing that he never will, or at least not in the way he wants. we want dib's family to recognize him, we want gaz to show that she still loves him, and we want prof. membrane to say that hes proud of him. but.....invader zim is not really the type of show. i understand that this is ofc a movie for kids, but again, part of what made the show so appealing was the fact that it was so dark WHILE still being for kids. the closest thing we get to any kind of "mean-spiritedness" is the tallests deaths, which, while deserved and executed in a funny way, only happens at the end. idk i just felt like this movie was kinda....playing it "safe" compared to the show it was based on yknow. but thats just my opinion idk i swear im not one of those "WHOA look at how DARK and EDGY this show is!!! that proves that its NOT FOR KIDS" types, i just feel like the overall tone was a bit lacking compared to the source material

NOW onto the nitpicks!! these werent rly major flaws that interfered w my enjoyment of the movie, just stuff that mildly irked me (lol get it). for starters i wish tak was there :( i know she was originally planned to be in the movie but they had to cut her for time constraints which is fair. still i miss her so much. tak my beloved come back to me

another nitpick, but pretty much the only other thing that i didnt like abt this movie and its SUPER minor: i dont like how frequently gaz's eyes are open throughout this movie?? ALKSJFSDLKLKDS I KNOW THATS A WEIRD THING TO COMPLAIN ABT LMAOOOO i swear it doesnt actually bother me that much but it was kind of distracting. the reason gaz's eyes are almost always closed is to add to that angry, apathetic look she always has; it conveys her personality. when her eyes DO open, they're large and cute, which is a nice contrast to her normal appearance and makes these scenes in the show/comics have more comedic impact. here, they're open a bit too frequently for my liking, and i think it made me perceive her character differently. i think she should have been grumpier LOLLL but that kind of ties back into my first point

but errmm yeah!! despite the block of text i just wrote i still rly liked this movie!! in terms of continuations to the show, however, i think i prefer the comics, although again i have not finished reading them. i just feel like theyre closer in attitude to the original show and have a lot more interesting story ideas. but again, this movie is not bad!! there were a lot of things i rly do like abt it!! im pretty easy to please tbh.

overall id say this movie has like.....7.5/10?? maybe?? its still a good movie and id probably watch it again if given the opportunity. theres a lot of cool things about it and i did enjoy myself watching it. thats just my Onion tho, lmk what u think abt it if youve seen it :) just pls be civil if u disagree w anything i said, i like hearing other ppls perspectives on things!!

okay firstly the idea that someone would not only read one of my little stories but read it more than once?? crazy actually!! insane!! so glad that it could be a part of ur morning n i would love to talk abt it!! hang on opening it in a new tab rn let me remember what it was i actually wrote huh lol

firstly with the flashback scenes in otiofad in general they had to serve two different purposes. they obviously needed to show the intense love and intimacy between the boys prior to The Incident, in order to juxtapose the post-prank scenes and serve as a marker for measuring the size of the rift in their relationship that its caused (which is why theres lots of kissing and cuddling and cloying monologues in the flashback scenes), but at the same time they had to demonstrate the little parts of their relationship which are a little bit fucked! a little bit unhealthy and obsessive. and they had to portray sirius as a person who has the capacity to do what he ends up doing. i didnt want to accidentally work against myself by over-idealizing their relationship to the point where it became difficult to believe sirius could be so thoughtless as to do what he does. like if ive just made you read fifteen hundred words of him being the Best Boyfriend Ever and then switch to him begging forgiveness for an attempted murder, his character becomes a little disjointed, and i really wanted it to feel like you're consistently reading the same people, just in very different circumstances. so the flashbacks very much needed to stress their intensity rather than their health as a couple.

im definitely roaming beyond the parameters of your question (but i promise it all circles back xx) but some of the sort of. i dont want to say red flag as much as cause for concern moments that i tried to include especially in the flashbacks include for instance: [Sirius says that sort of thing often, and with a confidence that Remus cannot ever fathom. Good god, how he would like to ask Sirius, them or me, that or me, and never fear the answer.] in the first scene, because i think remus' low self-esteem and his insecurity definitely affects their relationship + how he perceives it, which isn't anyone's fault as much as it is just them being young and imperfect like. theyre like sixteen here nobody had it together when they were sixteen right :-/ you have sirius utterly utterly obsessed with being in love with remus declaring that he doesnt want anything else from life and he's. sixteen years old. he's got no idea. like its that sort of rashness and impulsivity when he's speaking and acting which ends up fucking him over :-/

TO GET BACK to the bit you actually asked about (im so sorry for how long this is <3) the part where he closes the book on the spider. i mean honestly ur interpretation in the ask is pretty spot on!! its another one of the little stitches in the flashback scenes that sort of...slightly changes/sobers/brings the tone back down the reality a little, after theyve spent most of the scene cuddling and kissing etc. i'd already sort of tried (and i want to emphasise try at every point in this answer sfdghsh because i am not necessarily claiming that any of this was necessarily successful lol) to show sirius' capacity for being rash and obsessive, and the spider moment was just this tiny act of unnecessary, arguably cruel? violence that was meant to be jarring against the very over-sweet and gentle affection he's just shown remus. and although theyre acts of violence on such different scales, he gives just as much thought to sending snape to the willow as he does to squashing the spider. one of the things about sirius that i love soooo much is his relationship with violence and the way his anger translates into violence and cruelty (which remus mentions in the final scene when he says “You’ve got to stop being the kind of person who hurts people when they’re angry.”). its why hes SO fun to write angry because his anger is so distinctive lol. so the spider moment is just meant to serve as a little reminder of this random, mindless aggression that sirius carries around with him and that exists in tandem with all the affection we've seen him show remus, who starts in surprise when sirius slams the book shut. (i'll let u in on a super little fun (or not) fact that in my head when i was writing it i always drew a little parallel between the twitching insect leg thats left on the page and the similarly uncomfortable sensation of the eyelash that remus feels scratching his own eye immediately afterwards. thats not necessarily meant to come across n i expect it doesnt because i didnt develope the idea...at all...but in my head they were always a little linked teehee like even sirius' smallest acts of violence still have an effect on remus somehow xx)

but yeah!! apologies i didnt think this would be such a long explanation for a simple question fbhsdfhs im very embarrassed by this but like!! in short the spider was another little jarring moment designed to tether the version of sirius you get in the flashback to the version you get in the post-prank scenes, because ultimately he's the same guy with the same flaws both before and after the prank!! there was no reason for him to kill the spider like that and thats why hes so fucked. it was just his instinctive response to seeing it there.

ill try not to spoil anything for anyone else, but boo and bos interactions after the supernova made me super happy and was such a perfect way to start getting them to like each other. THEN WHEN THEY DID LIKE EACH OTHER OH MY GOD EVERYTHING MADE ME SO HAPPY ranboo getting jealous was *chefs kiss* and the dancing and tag and that moment that Boo referred to later as holding a star (a star? idk my memory is bad sorry) in his arms AND WHEN HE KILLED THAT GUY ohhh my goddddd fantastic!!!!

learning tommys real reason for not joining tuboo too was so much better than i imagined i was actually pretty glad about that.

eeeeeee ebut the whole scenes with ranboo and the raiders and how its continued in De Terra was so fantastic and such a great way to show his emotional and mental state about himself and the way we can see it change and get better and worse means so much and is such good writing!! i especially love how we can see him healing even when there a couple times where its at its worst and most of all i never see anyone else talk about being afraid of becoming the abuser and thats so real and important and im so so glad it was in there!!!

ok ok ok but De Terre was absolutely giving me life during finals the entire time they were on tubbos home planet and ranboo and dreams interactions and the birthdays party all make me so ecstatically happy. its been days and i still cant get midsummer and tubbos planet out if my head and i want to draw so much of it (so many things from both books actually) but im super afraid its gonna turn out gross cuz my art ability is so Not where it needs to be to match the beautiful images in my head for this fic.

anyway the characterization for Ranboo and tubbo and their relationship is astoundingly good and both fics went in my all time favorites collection without a second thought. i cried. several times each
