I can’t hold onto this in good conscience any longer 🙈 I wanted to answer this with a drabble but it's taking too long. But I did start it already, I’ll give you an excerpt of the draft:

“Are you sure your boyfriend won't mind if you sit with us instead of him?” Alex asks warily as he, Macon and Buck Cleven leave the AP Physics classroom and head towards the cafeteria.

When he suggested discussing the assignment for next week, he meant via chat. At home, after school. But Buck said they could talk it over during lunch, and Macon agreed, of course he did, never one to pass up a chance for a nerdy conversation, missing Alex's wince completely. It’s clearly a disaster in the making. Alex isn’t in the mood to sit with Curt, Bucky and Hambone, who spend most of their breaks bickering about soccer or horsing around. It’s beyond him how someone like Buck can stand their company. They would interrupt or even boo at their Physics talk, or annoy him by throwing food at each other. So, he tried to tell Buck that it would be better to figure it out online - but Buck just smiled and said he would sit at Alex's table. Which brings Alex to the current problem.

He sincerely doubts that Bucky is going to take it in stride if his boyfriend doesn’t sit next to him like he does every single day.

“He’ll be fine.” Buck waves it away serenely.
