S2 au where Steve and Nancy break up but Steve gets sp fascinated with Billy the new kid so quickly and obsessively. It doesnt help Billy is being so flirty in basketball practice. He thinks Billy's frustrating but also likes to watch him when he knows Billy doesn't try to be the new Mr Popular and he actually finds that he likes that Billy who is pretty and has a pretty laugh and is smart and funny and likes to help people but pretend he doesnt. And Steve learns Billy likes sweets but doesn't indulge often bc he worries it'll make him fat or umanly. So Steve makes sure to sneak in sweets into Billy's bag and locker whenever he has a chance. Small things like strawberry chocolate or nougat that Max mentioned off handedly Billy enjoys, or Mrs Byers said its the sweets Billy always nicks from the store with the groceries. And Steve starts watching Billy enjoys the little treats and actually smile when he sees them and uh oh, Steve likes his smile it turns out. And Billy starts leaving notes in his lockers, starting with a charming "Fuck off, stalker" and then Steve leaves the treats with cute messages like "Have a fantastic day!! :)) - Yours, Stalker" and Billy jist knows him as Stalker for a few months, until Valentines Day where Steve confesses with a box of Billy's fave chocolates

thinking about kevin begging riko and tetsuji to let him take a history class and then agreeing to do all of riko's assignments, whatever it took, because he loves it that much that he was willing to go to those lengths to still pursue that passion. then thinking about all his history books, him watching documentaries and memorising a million interesting facts that he rarely gets to share with anyone. or what if the post cards he sent jean were scribbled with little tidbits of historical info about the places he'd been?? what's his favourite historical time period?? how far back does his interest go??? what's his favourite historical civilisation? who is his favourite historical figure?? what historical landmarks does he wish to see?? why history to begin with??? it's just so endearing i wish we knew more about his passion for it because yes exy is his legacy by birth right but also there's so much more to him than just that

Hey! i’m really into the dbch story and i was wondering if doc and xisuma ever tell bdubs the specifics of why etho lost his memories, cause if they do that is prime self blaming angst for bdubs

I’m inclined to believe they don’t. Actually (and maybe I should do a small comic for this so more people see it) I imagine, once a month or a few pass and they finally return etho to bdubs as reset, I imagine they are VERY serious about warning bdubs not to try to force Etho to re-deviate— they don’t go into specifics, but they probably tell bdubs that whatever happened had to do with something that was emotionally overwhelming, and that forcing him to redeviate/not letting it happen naturally could trigger the same error. They have no idea what could happen so bdubs needs to be very careful and let Etho find himself again on his own.

Whether or not bdubs gets impatient or can only go so long before he doubts it would be that bad if he tried pushing Etho in the right direction is another story.

But yeah. I don’t think Xisuma or Doc really… tell anyone that this happened. Etho’s error seemed like a very specific one-off scenario, so it’s not something the other hermits should be trying to avoid or be careful about happening to their own android friends, and the only thing telling people would do is make them worried about the situation. All they need to know is that etho was broken and that they need to be careful with him. I don’t agree with their decision to keep what happened to themselves but I understand it I think. Have you seen that short where Marcille goes to an "ex-dungeon lord support group"?? It's so funny that it EXISTS at all but it ends with her being awkward because everyone there lost something great and she's sitting there like "uh... I lost the will to do my hair." But it's so sweet because her hair is styled in that short by someone who cares for her 🥺

I did!! If I recall correctly, I think Pattadol actually set it up because she wants to help former dungeon lords heal?? It's very sweet and also SO funny.

And kind of tragic. Marcille thinks she got off easy because she doesn't remember how much she used to love taking care of her hair. It was such a huge part of who she was as a person and now she doesn't even remember it well enough to grieve it. She says "oh well, I guess I'll cut it short" like she didn't spend years growing it and taking care of it. Like it wasn't a point of pride for her, like it wasn't something she really loved about herself.

Sure. It's not as bad as what happened to Mithrun and Thistle, who had their entire selves taken away. But the demon still took a fundamental part of her in an active attempt to make her more vulnerable, and she doesn't even think it was a big deal...
