desperately need to know more about boorman's past. yes we know he was madmartigan's squire and yes we know that whatever went down in skellin ended in him abandoning madmartigan but like...what about everything else? how does he know scorpia? is he a bone reaver? was he raised in tir asleen? was he kidnapped as a child like jade was (probably not, but a legitimate question)? if he is a bone reaver, how did he become madmartigan's squire? why did sorsha imprison him? like the real reason not the speculations. how did he become like this, a liar and a thief and a criminal, if he was the squire of the best knight in the land? like please i need answers about thraxus boorman. real, true answers that don't come from boorman lying or someone trying to accuse him of something

I have reviewed his Zeldapedia page in order to jog my memory about him, so here are some scattered thoughts:

First off, context. I have been a life long enjoyer of Characters Who Are Assholes, which explains my immediate love towards characters like Midna and Linebeck. When preteen Frankie first saw the cool buff villain with a metal hand, she did not stand a chance.

But the thing is that while he is a villain, I don't remember him being a jerk. Ruthless, sure. But he really seems like a good person by the end of the story.

I really like his theme. It has this western vibes while still incorporating the flute motif.

I like how he never stops being mysterious, how the more you learn about him the more questions you have. If he was Anjean student, what other powers does he have?

When you play the spirit flute for him, he reminisces over the sound. How old is he? Was the flute once his? Had he ever played it?

Now that I am writing this out, he's kinda like Vaati if Vaati got a redemption arc? (will need to think about this more)

Also his death scene was brutal. If everyone in the LOZ series is in a reincarnation cycle, I'm sure his spirit will never be reborn. He's just gone now.

I like to think about what conversations he would have with Link and Zelda, if he'd gotten the chance. I wonder who he would relate to more, if he saw bits of himself in Zelda's spirit powers and Link's quest to grow stronger

I need to replay this game so badly now cause I just need to remember and think more about this guy omg

Flowey’s so funny and has me so fucked up like he’s a talking flower. He tries to kill you upon your first interaction. He is ten years old. He is damaged beyond repair. He’s a flower named Flowey. He’s become friends with every single character. He’s killed all of them countless times. He knows everything about everyone. He doesn’t care anymore. He takes care of his mom when she can’t take care of herself. He’s killed her before. He doesn’t care if you kill her. He thinks she’s trying to replace him. He just wants to be himself again. He wants to destroy everything. He hates you. You’re the only one who understands him. He wants his best friend back. He’s terrified of them. He believes in kill or be killed because he died by giving mercy to the wrong person. He believes himself to be the wrong person. He doesn’t understand when you show him that kindness he showed others, even when you know he could kill you for it. He’s tried every route. He asks you if you have anything better to do when you try to do the same. He’s a direct reflection of the player. He’s a fucking talking flower named flowey and his only voice line is by Ronald McDonald and his officially licensed plush does a little dance for you
