tommy actually looked nervous asking for a second chance. his shoulder's tensed up, his brows furrowed as he asks 'why not?' when buck says that this (their night together) doesn't have to change anything. it looks as if he was holding his breath, waiting for buck to refuse. he wants this second chance, he wants to be with buck but gets so wrapped up in his own doubt and insecurities he thinks there is a chance that buck will refuse the offer. he desperately wants that second chance but is prepared for the worst.

on the subject of that last post I reblogged, I definitely support the idea that both Yukiko and Akai had a hand in designing Okiya bc I realized something after seeing that post talking about Haibara, Elena and Mary's hair color

and I had a feeling after seeing that Mary's hair color is (at least in Aoyama's color illustrations) kind of a reddish light-brown, so I looked for Okiya colored illustrations

and, sure enough

taking into account different lighting and Aoyama's slightly inconsistent coloring (I'd say Okiya's hair is auburn in first pic, but then in second pic it's very much blonde)

It seems they actually have the same hair color.

Now, I don't know what'd be funnier : that Yukiko coincidentally picked that color because "It looks good on you Shu-chan <3" and Akai got frozen to the spot, ended up nodding and going along with it out of surprise more than anything else and now regrets it every day he has to wear that wig

or that Akai himself, when making up the new identity he's gonna have to live as almost 24/7, and for who knows how long, decided said identity would, contrary to him, have his mother's hair color. The mother he gets into fistfights with. The mother he probably hasn't seen in years and that he's actively letting believe he's dead.

IM SO GLAD!!!! I plan on making more soon since finals are wrapping up :) Hopefully, I'll have time to write for him a bit as well! As a psychology nerd, he is genuinely SO fascinating, even beyond just the dynamic of him and Chance. Hoping we get more info about his role in Forsaken, specifically if he becomes a survivor or not.

Since the Spectre chooses survivors based on intense emotions such as grief, regret, self-hatred, etc., and seems to select killers based on feelings of longing (John longing for Jane, 1x longing to kill her creator, C00lkidd longing to be with 7n7 again, Jason longing for his mom, Azure longing for Two Time), I feel like iTrapped can go either way for his role. As a survivor, maybe it would be based on his own self-hatred for never being able to have a a normal relationship without ruining it (Chance, Ellernate and Caleb), or regret for killing the one person that was willing to tolerate him. As a killer, maybe it would be due to longing for a connection- longing to be normal, to be loved.

Yes the Spectre is mostly focused on gaining power via 'code' and uses a form of corruption on many of the killers, but maybe he selects killers based on their longing for power, too? John wanting power over Roblox, 1x wanting power over Shedletsky for creating it, C00lkidd wanting power over those who hurt him and his dad, etc., so maybe iTrapped becomes a killer because of his longing for control over his life, for once. All he wants is to feel like his life is his own- not someone else's tool, not a milestone for someone else's growth or success, but HIS.

Though that can work against him as a survivor too. What if he's a support? Even in purgatory, he can not be an individual, his entire presence being JUST a tool for others. Is he even a person? Is he even seen by others as a person?

Does he deserve that title?

Book Crowley really is the most character ever.

He doesn’t need sleep but he loves it so he keeps doing it. He slept through the entire 14th century because he hated it. He answers to “Hail Satan” with a little wave and a “Hi”. He actually wants to listen to classical music but it keeps turning into Queen. We don’t realize he has yellow slitted eyes until he’s frantically searching for Aziraphale at the burning bookshop. He keeps a nice, spacious, modern flat just because it’s the kind of flat the human he pretends to be would have. He bought a great sound system and forgot to buy speakers for it but made it work miraculously. He keeps a fully stocked fridge with food that never goes bad just to keep up appearances. He loves Mary Poppins and tries to emulate her as a nanny. He was cast out of Hell. Deep down he is an optimist who believes the Universe will look after him. He hasn’t forgotten he was an Angel once and still tries to go good. He actively tries to keep people from getting harmed. He hates guns. He questions God’s plan but still trusts there is one and maybe he has a part in it. He was friends with Da Vinci. He went to Spain, saw what the Spanish Inquisition was doing and proceeded to get drunk for a week.

Going strictly off of CV here, but I sooo love how vastly different Wesker is in his treatment of Chris vs everyone else. He's so detached and methodical in his violence towards Claire, treating her as nothing but a nuisance that isn't worth half his effort. In a way, that makes his cruelty towards her even scarier, knowing he literally just does not care enough to give her the time of day or treat her as a person worth making much direct conversation to. And, of course, the only moments he does show some personal interest with her is when he's pondering the possibility of hurting Chris through causing harm to her. He does not care about Claire or her pain, not one bit. He's only keeping her under his boot so she doesn't cause trouble. The only thing he does care about is Chris' potential response to what he's doing.

Compare this to his beat downs with Chris. He's fully engaged with him, practically bursting with emotion, be it glee, malice or pride. With Claire, he is methodical, calculated. With Chris, you can argue he is almost purposefully showing off to him on some level. He needs to see that shocked look in his eyes, and he'll make sure he gets exactly that. It does make you wonder which version of Wesker is scarier to deal with. The cold, detached one that will get rid of you in the quickest, most efficient way possible without batting an eye? Or the pompous, sadistic one that will gladly take his sweet time tormenting you, if only to have you squirming at his feet for his own entertainment?

I love this duality in him, genuinely. You could argue he makes himself vulnerable with Chris by getting so lost in the chase, so to speak. Which is another interesting point to think about. Either way, Wesker is one cruel guy to have to deal with.

Viktor would dominate you verbally and give you the illusion of physical domination. He loves having you on your stomach, laying over top of you to fuck you deeply. He is able to put his weight on you and distribute the rest on his good leg and forearms. You both know you could probably flip Viktor over but to position, the pressure of his weight, he feeling of his breath, deep rumbles coming from his chest as he whispers sweet and dirty things to you.

"Oh sweet girl... taking me so well. You look so sweet like this, all squished into the mattress..."

But he loves to get a little mean as well...

"Look at that face... such a little whore for me and Jayce aren't you?"

He would growl and pant as he puts more force, letting gravity help him fuck into your harder. All you can do is desperately angle your hips back to give him better access.

Even when you are on top, riding viktor he still maintains control and makes you feel weak and vulnerable to him. He keeps your legs spread wide, staring at and admiring your hole taking him greedily. He will degrade and embarrass you if you cover your face or hide yourself.

He makes you feel like a bug under a microscope. Prodding, pinching, spreading every part of you wide, wanting to see how you react and learn your body. Studying it like a map. This alone is enough to make you vulnerable and pliable, submitting to him with ease.

Jayce however, will dominate you physically in every way possible. He is capable of manhandling you and tossing you around. He will bend you into every position, fucking you like he needed it to survive.

Hes a bit animalistic when he gets into it. Growling, marking your skin with bites, and generally just fucking you with so much raw power. However, unlike Viktor, it is quite hard for him to be mean to you verbally.

"Ohhhh my sweet sweet darling. You look so perfect taking me like this. Fuck... I'm sorry I'm being so rough. You know I can't help it right?"

He whines these words so sweetly as he pounds into your like an animal. He loves putting you into positions he knows Viktor can't do. He will fuck you while standing, he'll do doggy for hours, he will even hold you in his arms, a leg draped over either arm, while he pounds into you.

"Fuck. Ohhhh you are so tight. You fit me perfectly don't you honey~"

He loves watching your face contort as he fucks you in different ways. He wants to see how many different sounds he can force out of your pretty little mouth.

I need people in the IWTV fanbase to realise that you can appreciate a character in all their complexities and enjoy their precense in a story and still wish they had a slow, painful death scene. For non-book readers, I hope to be able to clarify a few things about why a certain character is so hated.

Keep reading for more nuanced Marius de Romanus slander:

I feel like I post at least once a day something about hitting Marius with a car or something and I do it mainly because it’s funny but it’s also because there is a very valid reason he is where a lot of people draw the line, despite the scale of morality in gothic literature being utterly different from that of pretty much any other literature, and drastically different from real life.

I love him for what he brings to the story. He is fascinating and I am excited to see him in season 3. He’s a brilliant character and I want to put him under a microscope and study him like a bug. He is still absolutely vile even for Anne Rice, something she even hints at here and there in her work.

I could go on and on for days about him, but to keep it short (edit: I lied), he met Pandora when she was ten years old and he was twenty five. What makes him particularly sick is nothing to do with vampiric morality, which we’ve seen is completely different, within the world of the books and show, from human morality. We get onboard with Lestat because we get to know him as a human and then watch how he changes as he gets used to being a vampire. Lestat was not a monster when he was human. Marius was.

If you disagree with that, you can think so if you wish as I do not currently possess the ability to control other people’s thoughts (but as soon as I do, I’m coming for you!) but please do not try and make excuses for him on that topic. Most people will not be open to that sort of debate. I know I’m not. Pandora was a baby. He should not have felt anything towards her other than a desire to protect her as a parent might. Yes, yes, gothic morality. But you need to understand that that is just too much for most people.

And you know who else was a baby, especially in comparison to Marius? Armand. Armand, who grew up to do awful things because of how he was treated. He was already being taken advantage of (to put it lightly) before he met Marius. If Marius had cared selflessly for Armand, he would have taken him from that brothel and tried to help him heal from the trauma. That is what real love would have been. You should not look at broken children and think to make them your lovers. All he was was yet another grown adult taking advantage of a boy whose spirit had been utterly shattered by what he’d endured.

(I’m not suggesting that should have happened or it would have been better, but I dislike the insinuation that Marius’s love for Armand was anything other than exploitative. It can be sincere, and still exploitative. I believe he meant it. I also believe he fucked Armand up more than he already had been.)

Murder in a fictional setting can be justified and overlooked, but as soon as anything involves children, you have to accept that you will lose a lot of people, even in gothic literature. That sort of relationship may have been more normalised thousands of years ago, but there were always people who objected to the concept. Even within the narrative of Anne Rice’s books, Marius’s actions are called out here and there (usually subtly) so even there, they are questioned. Compare him to someone like Lestat (I only mention him because for whatever reason, people like to group them together as irredeemable characters???).

Lestat’s actions are deeply toxic but people still like him because we understand why his behaviour is the way it is. As dreadful as what he does is, we are endeared to him because of his suffering and follow his journey as a vampire. He is twisted, but he is behaving according to what his trauma has turned him into. Armand is another example of this. Vile behaviour that is a believable response to trauma. There comes in the gothic morality again. We love them and know they are awful at the same time.

It is not that you cannot like Marius or characters like him. I do like him very much as a character, but you have to get on board with the idea that most people never will. The lines he crosses are unlike many of the others crossed by different characters. No one looks at Madeleine and Claudia and thinks it’s weird because Claudia is not actually a child. Armand was. Pandora was.

I could honestly make a separate post about book!Louis too and why I think the changes from the book were necessary to make people actually care about him, but it is similar. Harming/exploiting children and anything to do with slavery is a hard line a lot of people draw. Marius is still a multifaceted, interesting, complex, humanised character, as all Anne Rice vampires are, but he is deeply disliked for a very good reason. People cannot switch off how they feel about what he did, even if they are invested in the story.

(But also let’s be thoughtful about this type of discourse. Do not look at anyone whose favourite character is Marius and assume they are a bad person. He is a great character, he is just not to many people’s tastes. They likely just find him deeply interesting which he is.)

Anyway, after he gets his screen time and we reach the end of the show and he has gotten his chance to chance screen time, I vote we tie him up and treat him like a piñata.
