the way he looks at you, with such earnest remorse and tenderness, makes it hard to hold onto your anger. you sigh, running your fingers through his hair again, feeling the tension between you start to melt away.

“i hate how you do this to me,” you whisper, your voice barely audible. art’s eyes meet yours, and he pauses, his lips hovering just above your knee.

“i know,” he says again, his voice filled with a mix of regret and hope. his hands roam up the sides of your thighs, fingers brushing your ass before they turn into the curve between your legs. “but i’m here now,” he presses a kiss against your hot skin again, making his way up, up, and up. “and i want to make it right.”

as he continues his gentle kisses, moving slowly and tenderly, you feel your defences crumbling. the anger that once felt so strong is now just a distant memory. art’s presence, his touch, his voice, his words, all of him- it’s all you can think about.

he looks up at you, sitting on the bed while he kneels before you. you’re watching him, waiting for his next move when he is still between your legs. 

when you run your nails against his scalp, art doesn't bother hiding the quiet whimper that slips past his lips before he closes his eyes and leans his head towards your arm. 

he lets you hold him while his hands trail up your sides, reaching and groping anything he can before his fingers tug at your panties, and he carefully slips them off you.

when he kisses your clit, you rest your leg over his shoulder, heel pressing against the muscles of his back. his arms wrap around your thighs, pulling you closer while he starts to eat you out.

15 years of Dan & Phil - Major Arcana

It struck me that there has been 15 years since Dan and Phil met and my little goose brain connected that to the devil card number 15 (symbolised in dnpcrafts video) and so now you get a large post of me analysing year by year dnp in the major arcana.

DISCLAIMER: this is just for fun and because i am a silly jester who needed to feel joy while on video call with a friend. do not take any of this seriously, i am just a goofy guy with an internet connection and too much time.

The Fool - 0

we start at the fool, 2009.

"The Fool is young and vulnerable. He has not yet experienced the ups and downs of life, leaving him unaware of the magnitude of life's challenges, as well as the potential he holds. When The Fool comes up in a Tarot reading, you are encouraged to take on his open, willing energy and embrace all that lies ahead of you without worry."

The year dnp meet. The start of the journey. The fool is considered the main character of the Major arcana journey. Thus Dan and Phil are the main characters of this story, their story.

Both unaware of what the future holds for them, their life™ was only just at conception. I feel like this one is very self explanatory in context of them just having met, we as the audience are just introduced to the concept of Dan and Phil.

The fool energy (open, willing) is especially evident in videos like PINOF 1 and The Interactive Christmas Adventure where their silliness, and creativity really shine. This is an era of open, easy (almost naive) energy.

The Magician - 1

The year is 2010...

"The Magician card is a reminder that you are unique and have many gifts. These skills set you apart from the crowd and can help you begin new projects or overcome adversity. When The Magician comes up in your Tarot reading, it's a reminder that you already hold everything you need to move forward and accomplish what you've set out to do."

The year of Dan moving to Manchester and starting his Law Degree and Phil getting his flat in Manchester, PINOF2, Jamaica trip, and the conception of the forbidden video. We also have creative bangers such as "the inflatable lion of destiny", 'Blindfolded Catface Game', 'Dan and Phil get down' and 'The TREE'.

The boys are creating core parts of the Dan and Phil universe without knowing it. Together they have all the ingredients needed (see in the card imagery; the wand, cup, pentacle and sword) to create a fanbase and a successful career.

The High Priestess - 2

We have the Manchester apartment™, PINOF 3, the forbidden video leak and the first radio show. The relation to this, to me, really comes up in the forbidden video response. Having to turn inwards, the boys became insular, guarded and a wall was really put up between them and the audience to protect themselves. We can't speak to exactly what was happening for them internally and only make our assumptions based on what they outwardly expressed at the time.

The Empress - 3

2012

"The Empress is the most feminine card in the Tarot, and greatly encourages compassion, beauty, and love. She is deeply connected to Mother Nature, and her influence is powerful when you absorb the energy of the natural world around you."

"This supreme archetype of femininity also symbolizes fertility. It is The Empress who provides us nourishment and security. She is also sometimes seen as delighting us with flowers and fruit."

We have entered younow era. They also move to London this year, Dan officially drops out of uni, we get PINOF 4 and a second radio show. We also have the iconic tweet 'FYI i like vagina'. This year is known for being a difficult year in the Phandom. It has a reputation for 'no homo howell' and generally the boys being more reserved and insular with what and how they shared their lives.

In relation to The Empress card I think we can draw particularly on security. We know they had a stalking problem at the London apartment - a threat to their physical security, fans being hectic about their sexualities (particularly Dan) - a threat to their privacy. We also have Dan getting an influx of 'are you gay' on younow and having to reassert his ' straightness' lends itself to the femininity of this card. He had to play straight in order to keep himself safe. This card being for 2012 when we know they really withdrew from sharing themselves with us is quite the oxymoron but despite the withdrawing of their sharing with the audience we know they still had great success (got their flowers) in the coming years.

The Emperor - 4

2013

"The Emperor is a card of leadership and power. He is an authoritative force who has been through many experiences to achieve this status. He represents structure and solidity, and reminds you that you, too, hold immense amounts of power over your own life, and what happens to it."

THE BRITISH VLOGGER BOOM IS UPON US. The boys have gone through some shit™ at this point and are starting to establish themselves as Entertainers. They are on the grind, they are moving in the direction of establishing themselves as entertainers/presenters in the mainstream space marked by the beginning of the request radio show. Their Youtube numbers climb as does their power in the online world. As for them holding power over their own lives, I know Dan has mentioned not feeling in control of things like his audience at this point. But I think this card speaks to them really gaining control over their future career wise as a duo - even if they didn't fully see themselves as such yet.

We also have the Charlie Skies twitter fiasco this year - another threat to their privacy. Through this Dan in particular had to trust in the power he had over his own narrative in redirecting attention and deflecting Charlie's online attacks. He blocked him and protected his peace and as a result not a whole lot of the phandom knows about this beef. Dan and Phil are nothing if not good at diversion, distraction and hiding things from the internet (good for them).

The Hierophant - 5

2014

"The Hierophant is like a messenger from the heavens. He is experienced in spirituality and guidance, and his job is to bring these lessons down to us here in the real world. When The Hierophant comes up in your Tarot reading, you're encouraged to follow the rules, and to find a spiritual perspective on your current situation."

This year brings us the first Brit awards hosting, the radio show transitioning to the Internet Takeover, Dan and Phil Games and the channels continuing to grow. This card in particular I think relates to them and their relation to the BBC. In this card they are the two people in front of the Hierophant, learning and having knowledge bestowed upon them. This was a year of developing their careers into a new phase of mainstream TV palatability. Dan and Phil are stepping into previously unchartered spaces for just a couple of guys on the internet.

The Lovers - 6

2015

"The Lovers card represents the close relationships in your life. If it comes up in your Tarot reading, your love life is in need of extra attention. However, this is just as much a card about your values and decisions. You may find The Lovers come up when you are at a crossroads. Consider all the possible consequences of your choices."

Significant events this year include; TABINOF, TATINOF, Dan and Phil crafts, Japhan part 1, Brit Awards hosting and the channels growing. Japhan happening this year with the lovers card showing up is very sweet. Dan and Phil knew they had big events coming up for them in their lives so they carved out space for them to enjoy existing together by going to Japan.

We also know that at this point Dan and Phil were looking to move on from the TV Host type of space they found themselves in with the BBC. A crossroads of where they wanted to take the world of Dan and Phil™ . That gave way to TABINOF and TAINOF, stepping into an unknown space of Youtubers doing stuff in the real world once again. Phil mentioned in his video, 'Draw my LIfe 2' that they really had to trust that this was the correct move for them. A crossroads where they had to consider the consequences when investing their money into TABINOF and TATNIOF.

The Chariot - 7

2016

This year brought alot of reaping on benefits of putting trust in the crossroads that the Lovers card presented. We see the end of the Internet Takeover, the final Brit Awards hosting and the end of the TATINOF era. They combined their mind, heart and spirit and came out successful, winning 4 awards this year and having the huge success of TATINOF. They didn't allow themselves to be limited (by the BBC) and they succeeded. So, if they could achieve a world tour and a best selling book on their own... well what could come next??

Strength - 8

2017

"The Strength card represents courage, the fortitude of your heart, and your ability to withstand anything life hands you. If this card arises in your Tarot reading, you are reminded that you're strong enough to handle whatever you are facing and will come out of it with even more power than you had before."

This year, the boys move to their new London apartment (the fake apartment), Interactive Introverts is announced, Dan goes curly and the end of danisnotonfire branding.

We know from the video 'Dan and Phil Finally Tell the Truth' that Dan had begun to realise he couldn't stay in the closet any longer, which led to his mini breakdown on the balcony. He stated that he was worried if they went on tour with introverts he was going to have a very public meltdown. We also got the video 'Daniel and Depression'. Between the two of these things we can see how the strength card really came into play this year.

Phil has also talked about how they didn't know how they were going to get everything done this year. With Introverts tour looming, they were inundated with work and they really had to grin and bare through it. They had to trust their strength as a duo that they would come through this time together.

The Hermit - 9

2018

"The Hermit yearns to be alone. He knows that the only way to process what is happening in life is to withdraw from the noise of the world and create a quiet space of solitude. When The Hermit comes up in your reading, the answers you need will come from within. Be very still, and listen..."

This year is the year of the Interactive Introverts tour, the final PINOF, the gaming channel hiatus and Dan's video 'trying to live my truth'. The Hermit coming up in a year of them going into hiatus, is just very nail on the god damn head. I mean what card could be more relevant? It seems so self explanatory, I don't even know what to say.

The boys had to turn inward once again to assess where to go next in their careers. They talk about pausing to take stock of what they have done and where they will go.

Dan took a huuuuuge step back to go inwards and process everything he had been holding in and pushing through in the previous years as they were so busy with their career building. This was a year where they gave themselves permission to slow down and finally look inward for where to go next. This introversion beginning is seen at the start of 2018 in Dan's 'Trying to Live My Truth' video.

We also have Phil with his dizzy spells during this year meaning there was less amazingphil content. This could also be seen as an introversion. He had to slow down his public career of take care of himself and focus on his health.

The Wheel of Fortune - 10

2019

"The Wheel of Fortune is constantly revolving -- sometimes you will be at the top, and sometimes you will be at the bottom. This Tarot card reminds you that nothing is permanent, and, good or bad, you must cherish the lessons that this moment is bringing you."

"Good luck, karma, life cycles, destiny, a turning point"

Bare with me while I desperately try to refrain from top and bottom jokes due to the concision of the wheel of fortune card and dnp coming out in the same year. But truly this card represents a turning point and a destiny fulfilment. If BIG and COTY are not a destiny fulfilment and turning point then I don't know what is! The boys are living their truth, they are moving into a new era.

Justice - 11

2020

"Justice is your firm-but-fair reminder that there is a consequence for every action. Whatever life is handing you at this moment comes from decisions you and others have made in the past, reflecting natural cause-and-effect. When this card comes up in your Tarot reading, make sure you are acting fairly in all your interactions with others."

Libra card!!!! This year we have covid hitting, a quiet year for content all round. We have the stereo shows starting up at the end of the year along with the phouse announcement. This year also featured Steve the pigeon (pigeon fest/rescuing a pigeon video).

When we look at cause and effect, the phouse is what comes to mind. They worked themselves so hard in the years previous and they were able to buy and design their forever home. The cause and effect of them coming out is also seen in their ability to be open with the audience that they are continuing to not only live together but purchase and build property together. If they had not come out, things like buying a house together would've raised so many more questions and possibly caused more issues for them and their privacy (fan speculation). This new era really hinged on them coming out and setting themselves up as an ambiguous couple. In this case the cause and effect really benefitted them.

The Hanged Man - 12

2021

"The Hanged Man tells you that sometimes small sacrifices are required to benefit the bigger picture. When The Hanged Man arises in your reading, you likely want to make a move but don't know where to begin. Lightening your grip on what's no longer working for you, or detaching from the outcome of your situation, can help you release yourself."

This year gives us the first joint video since 2018 in the form of 'something we want to tell you'. This marks Dan's return to being perceived online. Subsequently we have the book release in May, YWGTTN, and they move into the somewhat uncompleted phouse.

We get many iconic videos this year showing a shift in their on camera dynamic - a loosening grip on the wall they built up with the audience during the early years. They let us in on alot more of those moments that drive us absolutely insane, the smiles were off the charts and we started eating good again. They have begun trusting the audience with more of their authentic selves and silly dynamic. In Phil's recent video where he looks at old profile pics, he talks fondly about the silly icon pic from him and Dan during lockdown.

I think the sentiment of no longer caring what people think is really echoed in this years content. The boys are self assured and care less about what people have to say because they are successful and have nothing to hide.

The hanged man is shown in this loosening grip on hiding parts of themselves and allowing themselves to trust the audience more knowing that whatever the outcome they have each other and that in enough.

Death - 13

2022

"One of the most misunderstood Tarot cards, Death is not a card about physical death. The Death card speaks of cycles and is a reminder that all things must pass. Hanging on to situations from the past will hinder you from allowing new, better things to enter your life. In every ending lies a chance for a new beginning."

What can I say. Death card for WAD year? It just makes sense. A year where Dan and Phil spent the most time apart since they met in 2009, taking a break from the cycle of their everyday life.

We also got Dan's WIQY video, again reflecting on the last few years and essentially announcing his burn out. Giving up on being Youtube's 'golden boy' by speaking his mind about how he was effected by circumstances beyond his control.

Then we have WAD. The show being reflective of his past and the future for the earth. This year truly felt like a rebirth for Dan specifically. He was back on the internet, Dystopia Daily, being able to openly make gay jokes. He went back out into the world and found meaning in existence again. And once that meaning was obtained, he went back to Phil. A new beginning in how they both show up online, unapologetically themselves.

Temperance - 14

2023

"The Temperance card is a master of moderation. She encourages peace and patience, and reminds you to go with the flow of your life instead of trying to force its pace or direction. When Temperance turns up in your Tarot reading, it is a message to take things as they come, and remain flexible enough to change with the changes."

2023 brought us more DD, end of WAD, The 3rd Japhan trip, the Phude, and the return of the gaming channel.

This is a year of things slowly going back to routine for DnP. Dan comes back from tour, they go on holiday to Japan. Up until the gaming channel coming off hiatus 2023 was seemingly a chill flux and flow for dnp. The flow (this is a water heavy card) of their life returned to normal.

While DnP certainly didn't make this comeback with moderation (leaping straight into spooky week and then gamingmas as well as merch drops) they wouldn't have come back without a serious plan to keep their workaholic tendency's in check.

The Devil - 15

2024

"The Devil card carries themes of restraint and powerlessness. When it comes up in your Tarot reading, you are likely feeling stuck. The Devil has convinced you that you have no options, but this couldn't be further from the truth. You hold the keys to your own freedom, but it's up to you to open the lock."

So we all know the crafty video from this year has direct symbolism to the devil card. There have been many great analyses between the two so I won't go into that as much here. But what I will say is that I see this card for this year as an unshackling of themselves. We see them far more open and willing to trust the audience to be in on the joke rather than and us vs. them situation of the 2012 era. So rather than them feeling stuck I believe this symbolises them no longer being stuck and stepping into their most honest selves while still maintaining their boundaries.

That concludes my wee dive into dnp lore and how it relates to the major arcana. I am not someone with a huge amount of knowledge on tarot (just a wee bit from my own experience of doing a card read every so often but certainly not someone who has ever studied tarot), so if you are big on tarot absolutely chime in and add to this!! I am also so sure I missed dnp lore but hey I did what I could! This wasn't supposed to happen.

You were sure your plan was perfect. You had been following the secret meetings of Lord Sato and Lord Hamada for a few months, and you knew their every move.

At least, you thought you knew their every move.

Until you were notified that they were attempting to flee Inazuma, and in your desperate try to catch them, you rushed. You slipped, and you made mistakes. And in the commotion, you recieved a concerningly deep stab in your abdomen. Not the end you had envisioned for this operation.

And that was the reason why you were laying in your bed, bandaged, with your mind clearing up from the fogginess induced by the mixture of herbs the physician gave you so he could sew the wound without you being conscious, looking up at your sister-in-law, Ayaka. She was standing by your side with a worried look on her face. She had been standing outside of the room while you were getting medical treatement, and now she was waiting for you to become lucid.

You loved Ayaka, and you would like to say that the two of you were very close, despite her timidity. She was shy around you at first, but by the time of the wedding, you already considered each other sisters.

You lightly grazed her arm to attract her attention to the fact that you were finally there, just as much mentally as physically. Ayaka tensed up, obviously taken by surprise, and grabbed your hand.

"[Name]! It's alright now, you're safe. The physician took care of your wound."

You chuckled, feeling a rush of pain in your abdomen. "I messed up a bit didn't I? You know me, always getting in trouble..."

You could see a hint of a smile on Ayaka's face, the young woman recognizing your lighthearted atitude as a sign that you were in a good enough state to engage in your usual antics. But before she could say anything in response, the sliding doors opened and your husband rushed into the room, stopping at the sight of you.

Between the two of you, Ayato had always been the composed one, the one that was hard to shake by any kind of unpredictable situation. You guessed he had no choice, seeing how he had to become the pillar of the Kamisato Clan and brought it back from the point of decline. It had always been this way: you, the overwhelming force of Pyro, and him, the temperance and adaptability of Hydro.

Yet now, a rare thing occured. You saw a glimpse of fear on your husband's face. Not fear caused by your current state, as Ayaka said, you were safe now. But it was as if he realised the terrible things that could happen, things that he thought he had control over. He worked too hard to make sure he had the ability to keep everything in order and now, that order was threatened.

"Ayaka, please, could you give us a moment?"

Ayaka nodded towards her brother, looked at you once more and swiftly left the room. Ayato took her place by the side of your bed.

"Thoma told me everything. That he begged you not to go, and you insisted."

You cursed yourself internally. This was not a conversation you could have while laying down, so you attempted to at least sit upright, which turned out to be quite the challenge with a newly sutured wound. Noticing your struggle, Ayato helped you up and placed a big pillow behind you to create a support for you to lean onto.

"Ayato, I'm...I'm really sorry for what happened. They caught on and attempted to flee and I just couldn't let them get away with it. But what I did was reckless, and I apologize. It won't happen again. Did they...did they manage to get away?"

"No," came the answer, and you let out a sigh of relief. "The Shuumatsuban apprehended them after you lost consciousness. They were tailing you, they had reason to believe your life was endangered. And it seems they were right."

You looked down. He didn't sound angry with you, but that didn't make the situation any less embaressing for you and your bruised ego.

"I know. It was downright shameful. I was meant to catch them, not get stabbed and pass out. It was unbecoming of someone who is supposed to represent the Yashiro Commission. But I supposed I should thank my stars that no one was there to see it, except...a dozen soldiers or so and Thoma." You could feel yourself cringe.

"That is not exactly the problem here, my dear." Ayato grabbed your hands, holding them in his. "Everyone can get injured in a situation like this, and you aren't a soldier. You only just started your training. It's not a shame to not be able to fight."

You stayed silent, keeping your eyes in your lap.

"[Name]."

"....."

"[Name]. Look at me."

You slowly raised your head, forcing yourself to look into his eyes. Those eyes, who would always be commanding in the company of soldiers and other nobles, were now regarding you with gentleness.

"Do you feel like you have to prove yourself?"

"Perhaps."

"[Name]-"

"Yes. Of course I do, Ayato. I'm no longer the lady of a third rate clan. I am a member of the Kamisato Clan, and this family and the Yashiro Commission are my responsability. What kind of person would I be if I didn't react to something that threatens them both? If only I weren’t as weak as I am. I was lucky that the Shuumatsuban acted, but if they weren’t there-"

"[Name], even I do not act without knowing my agents are at the ready. You went there alone with Thoma. You were not weak, just reckless." Ayato cupped your face, bringing his closer. "But what you should do now is learn from this, not shame yourself over it. I was well aware that you would not be accustomed to being Lady Kamisato overnight when I married you. But you're learning everyday and I see the determination and potential in you. That's why I married you. This comission needs you. We need you. And I need you. So please, don't ever risk your life like this and please, don't live in the shadow of expectations and shame. I know what that can do to someone, and I won't let anyone I love go through it."

You looked at him, eyes wide. Injury be damned, you told yourself, and reached out to pull him in an embrace.

"I can't promise that I'll manage to do that. But I can swear to you that I'll try."

Ayato smiled, and hugged you tighter.

"Well if that's the case, I have faith that you will succeed, my love."

Reimagining a Disney musical about "The Snow Queen"

I know what you're thinking, and you're NOT seeing double; I've already done rewrites for "Frozen" and "Frozen 2," but for this post, I'm gonna do my own idea for a Disney musical based on the Snow Queen. I did let some aspects of the film (both concept and official) inspire me, as well as the Christmas special--which felt unnecessary, but I guess not if I'm using it! Lemme know your thoughts. (Note: I do like the idea of this happening in a Northern European country like "Frozen." It's one of the few times we get a specific region in their Euopean-inspired fantasy realms. I haven't really nailed down where, but I just used Danish names here. Have NOT nailed down a time period, though; I'm thinking 16th or 17th century, in contrast to the 19th century of "Frozen.")

Plot

"Every December, wicked is heralded in by the wicked Snow Queen, bringing fear and danger in place of a joyous time for Christmas. However, when Clara decides to challenge the Snow Queen to thaw her Frozen heart, she has one year to save her kingdom from becoming her new ice palace."

Principal Characters

Clara--Intelligent, calm, and (somewhat) practical, Princess Clara is the crown princess of Rensdyr, standing out easily with her red hair and warm color tones (usually greens and reds, but other colors too), usually with floral patterns, and always keeps a rose somewhere on her person. Raised by her kindly grandfather, the studious princess craves adventure and excitement from her otherwise mundane duties. Close to Christmas, the Snow Queen--who has gone unseen for so long, they believed she was simply a myth, a relic of a bygone era, believing the harsh snow was normal--appears in the throne room, insulted by the largest, warmest holiday celebration she has ever seen. For this insolence, she curses the kingdom to eternal winter. Clara, not one to take an insult lightly, ventures to find the Snow Queen and make her reverse the curse, with only a mouse and a nutcracker given to her by her grandfather (who becomes ill and wants her to remember him by giving her his "good luck charm") as protection. She is, unsurprisingly, unable to defeat the Snow Queen physically, but instead of being killed, the Snow Queen offers her a deal: if Clara can find the Snow Queen's frozen heart somewhere in the land within a year, she will leave the kingdom and never return. However, if Clara fails, she will be but the first ice sculpture in the Snow Queen's new palace--AKA Clara's palace that she plans to take over. Clara knows she cannot trust the Snow Queen entirely, but she learns that this is simply a battle of the mind: she must simply outwit winter herself. Of course, she doesn't immediately realize that it's not the mind she needs to think with...(Note: whenever she enters the Snow Palace, her clothes are influenced by the Northern lights, so blues, whites, and vibrant rainbow colors are her new identifier.)

Kai--The knight in shining ice, one of the few humans inside the Snow Queen's domain. While she tells Clara that Kai is meant to protect her for a year and "verify" if she has found her heart and return it to her, she secretly instructs Kai to find "it" before Clara. He originally is portrayed as stoic and of few words, not a large help to Clara. When they find a beautiful ice crystal the size of his hand, Clara accidentally trips and falls into him. As she cries from a twisted ankle, the tears fall onto the crystal and his chest, revealing that for centuries, whenever the Snow Queen froze someone, their heart escaped their body and took the form of a peculiar piece of ice. They can only be captured during the winter; otherwise they melt and turn into puddles of water that the ground refuses to absorb. Upon having his heart restored, Kai finds that he still has an affinity toice, being able to refine and change it's shape--a sign of him still belonging to the Snow Queen. He becomes much more friendly while keeping his confidence and maturity, and quickly falls for Clara over the year that they search for the Snow Queen's heart--though he can't help recall what exactly "it" was that the Snow Queen wanted her to find first...

I'm kinda thinking he's very similar to the Beast when he's an ice knight, while becoming more like Phoebus once he's thawed.

The Snow Queen--A sadistic woman worshiped as a goddess due to her longevity and power, she encases the land in ice and snow, delighting in the misery of others. She's a cross between Maleficent and Cruella de Vil in terms of personality--and in clothes; while she does wear fabrics like silk, she loves the decadence of fur, particularly from animals who disappoint her. Her skin is a beautiful blueish-white, while her eyes are a bright blue, and her hair is whiter than snow. When Clara dares to stand up against her, the Snow Queen vows to break her spirit before turning her into an ice sculpture for her amusement and take over the kingdom. When she instructs Kai to find "it," she is actually not referring to her heart--which she never lost, but it is still frozen solid, making it impossible to feel positive emotions--but to the "Heart of Winter," a primordial being that once gifted her powers over ice and snow when she was a freezing girl in poverty selling matches in another kingdom. A neutral figure, if Clara managed to sway it, it would never visit the kingdom again, forcing the Snow Queen to either flee or stay powerless in the kingdom, which is not an option. When Clara does (by accident) encounter the HoW, the Snow Queen attempts to kill them both in order to keep her powers forever. She manages to freeze Clara, but , Clara's heart has grown over the journey, being more open to love and less cynical, allowing the warmth of her heart (and Kai's tears) to melt her and even the Snow Queen herself, who has lived so long that her body does not become a puddle, but a massive fjord. Her story inspires Clara to focus on the poverty when she returns home, as well as instructing a statue of the queen and the HoW so her story is never forgotten. It is revealed that her name is Anika.

The Heart of Winter--I was gonna make it look like Santa Claus, but I think Clara's grandfather should look like that. In any case, the HoW is a shapeshifter and can appear in any form, usually wise and quiet, though it enjoys the form of humans (not as young as Jack Frost, but I wanted the visual), wolves, foxes, reindeer, and dragons the most. As a spirit, it is swayed by powerful acts of emotion: negative ones like the Snow Queen's inspire it to make harsh and freezing ice, while positive ones inspire it to make memories of joy and fun during Christmastime. Clara's warm heart, however, makes the environment inhospitable for it--not that it's bitter--and thus it leaves, never to return (at least for a few centuries).

Music

I'd still want the Lopez-Anderson team to make this, and if not them, Stephen Schwartz (and maybe Alan Menken). Again, I suck at song titles.

Early in the morning--I kept having "Carol of the Bells" and "4 in the Morning" in my head when I imagined this song. Weird combination I know, but it's mainly an introduction to the kingdom, as well as Clara's life.

My Way--The Snow Queen and Clara make a bet: she must search the land for the Snow Queen's heart, and over the course of a year, the winter will become harsher until every creature on it is frozen.

Ice in my veins--The Snow Queen sings this while Clara searches desperately for her heart, laughing at the ridiculousness of the heart to make you do stupid and reckless decisions, mockingly asking if it's just her who finds it astounding.

Heartache--Kai sings this as he regains his feelings, noting how strange it is to feel again,and how he doesn't remember who he was before becoming the Snow Queen's servant, but vows to find out and free the others once everything is over.

Desperately Yours--The Snow Queen reflects on how Clara has figured out the secret to thawing out hearts, and questions if she's now more dangerous than she thought. She recalls vague feelings of love for others, but laments that it was not returned to her, and ponders how such a thing can cure hate. This is mainly a duet between Clara and Kai, but the Snow Queen intervenes at times.

My Way (Reprise)--Clara reflects on how cynical she's been, about how this whole thing was about her own ego, having glory and being right, when she hasn't stopped to appreciate those who have helped her along the way, and she realizes she loves Kai. She also reflects on how entitled the Snow Queen has become, and how bitter she is because of her tragic past.

Love Will Thaw--A soaring chorus number (I know they're usually saved for reprises, but they're underrated) where Kai and Clara and the other victims of the Snow Queen return to Rensdyr just in time to celebrate Christmas a year after the beginning of the film, but it's the perfect holiday to reconnect.

This week, I’d like to explore how fandoms allow us to escape from our troubles, thus becoming a coping mechanism. But before I begin, I’d like to bring you back to the first half of that lyric that hints at a deeper truth – that even after we return to the sometimes harsh embrace of reality, there is an enduring happiness. A great reminder that a current source of happiness is not your only source of happiness. Also, for this post, I shall be drawing on my own experiences. Let’s start!

Introduction

Much like hobbies, fandoms are something we hold close to our hearts. They keep us entertained, they spark our interests, they light up our days. Now here is the question I’ll explore in this post: Can fandom be a form of escapism or a way to cope with real-life challenges? Let’s explore this relationship between fandom and real-life.

Escapism through fandom

Fandoms have become gateways for people to escape to fictional worlds, even if the fictional world isn’t inherently better, they find comfort in the fact that it’s of a different reality. Like the Marvel universe that’s constantly faced with extraterrestrial threats, I enjoy watching their movies and television series because I like to imagine myself as one of those superheroes skilfully battling 7 villains at once. When I first started watching the movies, it was my form of escape from the reality of my eating disorder that rendered me underweight and weak.

Coping with real-life challenges

Fandoms are also ways to cope with real-life struggles. For instance, 3 years ago in the depths of my despair, I became dependent on watching the television series, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. It was a comfort to watch the characters navigate through their life with their close friends. Then, I would watch the series over and over again to feel the same comfort. I escaped the loneliness of my reality through the lenses of their friendships and repeated episodes to cope with my anxiety of the unknown. Though the show did not solve my problems, it was a significant part of my life because it gave me hope that someday, I would have my group of friends to go through life with me.

Sense of belonging

After I watch a show or a movie or read a book, I would go to TikTok to see what everyone else’s take on it is. Thus entering me into the fan community of the media. I don’t only watch these videos to see who has a similar opinion as I do, but I also like to see if someone notices a detail I missed, or if they have interesting theories or alternate endings. These things validate my experiences which in turn instils a sense of belonging for me in the fandom. And when I decide to interact with these videos by commenting, I would often end up sparking friendships with those in the fandom as well.

Creative outlets

I’m sure you’ve seen art and merchandise made by fans. It’s a thing because sometimes the official merchandise just isn’t cool enough or just isn’t our style. And so becomes the overlap of hobbies and fandoms. Taylor Swift’s current world tour, The Eras Tour, has taken this for a colourful twirl. Fans attending the concert have started a tradition of designing friendship bracelets to trade with each other as a fan experience. They also share their various creative designs with each other, turning it into a fun activity before the concert itself. Some of these friendship bracelets have even reached the donning of Taylor’s mother, Andrea Swift. Fan projects like these hold a fulfilling allure as they not only provide a chance for fans to connect deeply with each other but also offer the tangible joy of creating memory keepsakes transforming shared fandom into enduring, physical symbols of camaraderie.

Escapism vs avoidance

My last point in this discussion is the fine line between escapism and avoidance. While finding solace in fandoms can be a comforting escape, it is important that we recognise the risks of excessive immersion. Too much reliance on fictional worlds or temporary sources of happiness may lead to neglecting real-life challenges. It is imperative that we recognise and acknowledge when escapism has turned into avoidance. And when this happens, we should always seek necessary and professional help to ensure a healthy relationship with the things that make us happy. Thus fostering resilience in facing life’s realities.

Conclusion

In conclusion, fandoms undeniably serve as both escapism and coping mechanisms, offering solace and connection. However, we must find a balance that enhances well-being. We should embrace the positive and supportive facets of fandom, avoid judgement and have an open mind when approaching fandom communities where diverse sources of happiness are celebrated. In short, be kind, everyone’s fighting battles you don’t know about.

Any South Korea and Turkey hcs??

I've already covered a lot in my korea and turkey hcs, but if you insist!!

- older brother/younger sister dynamic. obviously south korea is older than he is, he was born around the goryeo dynasty, so he wasn't even around to see silla(sk) and goguryeo(nk) scrapping for hundreds of years. but they still have this dynamic because we refer to turkey as our "older brother nation." that's because of how well they took care of korean orphans and even set up a school for them in the korean war, that's why a lot of koreans hold positive views of turkey and turkish people!

- i think around the postwar era korea relied a lot on the allies she made during the war to act as emotional support to fill in the void her older brother left behind, with one of them being turkey, who probably stuffed her mouth with sweet treats and tea to comfort her.

- when turkey rebranded into türkiye, korea immediately changed official signs and such to follow suit. we used to use 터키, and then changed to 튀르키예 to match the rebranded, authentic name. I haven't seen many other countries do this, so that's a win !!

- speaking of such, traditional korean desserts aren't as sweet as turkish sweets. baklava CLEARS 꿀떡(rice cake with syrup filling) easily in the field of sweetness. she probably choked on the sweet syrup while eating şekerpare for the first time.

- she gave turkey buldak once. he cried. she laughed. it was all recorded too

- turkey knows korean and uses that to check his food, korea knows turkish and uses it to talk to locals on her trips to turkey

- during şeker bayramı, turkey gives korea money as a gift whenever he can. she appreciates the free money

- for his birthday she buys him designer lol. watches, other accessories...LV sneakers. the more expensive the gift is the bigger the flex(and the more you care about them)

- a memorable moment in particular was when korea struggled to wrap a hijab to enter the blue mosque. he also struggled to help her. that's when a bunch of turkish aunties rushed in to help her put it on. her face was red afterwards lol

- korea got him into krap and krnb. he's not too much of a kpop guy but I like to think he has a soft spot for certain girl groups. now I could say bts blackpink and twice since those seem like the most popular groups in turkey but honestly? he seems like more of a fromis_9 and G-IDLE guy...no idea what boy groups he'd listen to though.

- she takes him to photobooths to take pics whenever he comes over! the first time, she made the mistake of suggesting he wear the flower sprout headband to match her butterfly one....and he gave her a stare she'd never seen before. she quickly dismissed the idea,

- he tells her about his time as the ottoman empire, she tells him all about her life as silla, then goryeo, then joseon(with the last 2 titles shared by her brother). she tells him about her brother as well, since he never got a chance to meet him like america, england, france, and other european nations.

- remember turkey nomadlarping to the central asians and mongolia? bro unironically calls him and korea the altaic duo at times

- she tried to do those tiktok dance challenges other kpop idols do when they invite other group members to dance with them. he slipped once 💀

- korea loves his food. she will EASILY pay 8000won for a doner kebab bc man that sauce...hits different. she goes to turkish restaurants on occasion when she gets cravings for them. in turn, turkey loves her food as well! and she always tries to find spots where they can both eat together

- drama duo. DRAMA DUO. they both have the overdramatic historical dramas, korea has the meet cute ones to balance out turkey's "countryside woman moves to the city falls in love with a nice guy who's actually the son of one of the main antagonists. he protects her from her abusive father who came back from the countryside to force her to stop studying and to get married against her will" type dramas.

15 Years Of Love

Today marks my 15 year anniversary with my Fiancé. It means officially half of my life has been with them. I'm 30 years old now and when I was 15 we started dating. I was a freshmen in high school, I wasn't out, I casually might have said I was bi but I had not yet come to realize that I was ace, a lesbian, a trans woman, or polyamarous at the time. Nor had he realized he was trans masc gender fucky pansexual polyamarous sexy little goblin. They and I did not have the most clear start, as teens we both did and said plenty of things we wished we never said or did to one another. Still in 15 years we've every year become more of ourselves and as a consequence fallen more in love.

It is wild to think how radically different we both are from where we started and how our love and selves have bloomed. Being with someone as long as we have clearly shapes you. This kind of love is the kind of love where you become the same kind of weirdos in so many ways but we're still also very different people. We have so many layers of inside jokes, so many shared memories, so much life experience that it is impossible to really decipher us if you were a fly on the wall. It is such a joyful life to be able to live as silly as fucking possible together. We are two halves of a whole without being monogamous or dependent on one another, we date separately and both have very long term committed relationships with amazing women that aren't ending any time soon. It's like a Soul Mates AU if they weren't hyper monogamous where somehow we were meant to each other.

Our love story is funny too, we were enemies to lovers over a mutual crush. At the time they didn't know they liked girls and I didn't know I was a girl but we both had a crush on a mutual bi friend of ours. We met at a Japanese cultural festival both wanting to learn more about the culture sure but also both wanting to spend time with our crush. Neither of us particularly liked each other and in fact they gave advice to my crush that going on one date with me didn't mean we were dating and she didn't owe me shit. Which is so true, very true and also very funny in retrospect. We add each other on myspace, I had been pretty in my depression era we talk and talk from time to time about our mutual crush and about random stuff. I decide to ask him out and he says yes. From that showing of What Happens In Vegas, a movie which is a time capsule for sure we started dating.

While our goals and ambitions have shifted radically to this day my Fiancé inspires me in my art. Even back then I knew I wanted to tell stories and they were an apple of my eye always making me want to tell more. They always supported me in making art and telling stories and acting and everything I did and I always supported them in drawing and crafting and aiming for whatever goals they wanted. Our hearts and spirits always longed for making the world better in whatever ways we could and it's something we still do together.

While we may no longer be teens caught between Emo and Scene we still get to radically be ourselves together, to express ourselves how we want and encourage each other to explore ourselves, challenge our ideas about the world and expand what we know. At the end of this year we plan on leaving our home for the whole of our relationship Texas thanks to anti trans, anti LGBT and racist laws popping up left and right. While this anniversary is huge for us the future looks so exciting with us hopefully finally leaving this hell hole behind and entering a new era of our lives with hopefully more community, love and exciting discovery along the way.

I don't know where I would be without my Fiancé, they got me through all the worst times in my life, their a part of my DNA. I feel so incredibly lucky to have had 15 years with the worlds most sweet little gender monster. This love is always going to be worth fighting for to me and I hope I can tell so many more new stories that honor the love they've given me in my life.

Hi guys! I'm Charles Cuevas, ABM student at St. Mary Magdalene School, but lets keep this casual. Actually, my dream before is to be a pilot, but as my academic years goes by, I've realized that business path is for me. This leads me to choose ABM as my strand in senior high school. But, academically aside, I want to share my comform things in my life.

Well, I'm a coffee lover since I've entered my high school era, I find conform in this drink, since for me it symbolizes our life. Sometimes, we cannot get the balanced and right mixture for our coffee, sometimes its too bitter, sometimes its too sweet for our liking. This simple scenario allows me to think that life is not perfect, due to our actions, we can change the run of our life, making it better or even more worse than ever.

Next, lets focuses in these two beautiful ladies, they are the 2 japanese members of k-pop group LE SSERAFIM. The first girl is Nakamura Kazuha (Stage Name: Kazuha), she is a professional ballerina, studied ballet ever since she was 3 years old. Her fluidity and harmonious movements makes me to love her and making her my second bias in the group. That is why we referred to her as "LE SSERAFIM's Swan".

The next one is the "unnie" ("older sister" in korean) of LE SSERAFIM. She is Miyawaki Sakura (Stage Name: Sakura), one of I've known idols who are in the industry for many years, she became an japanese idol in July 2011. In 2018, she debuted on IZ*ONE (temporary grouped formed by a survival show) and redebuted again as a LE SSERAFIM member last May 2022. What I love about her is her humor and wittiness, as she is also a gamer who always win on her group's games and challenges. Beside that, her name is one of my favorite flowers, Cherry Blossom (Sakura in japanese). She became my bias since her IZ*ONE era, because of her "anime-like" visual and having the same bias in BLACKPINK which is Rosé.

Finally, lets talk about the song above, entitled "Swan Song". This song caught my attention because of its simple yet calming vibe, my music representation for the swans. This is the 3rd track of album "EASY" by LE SSERAFIM released last February 19, 2024. At first listen, I really find myself so calm that makes it one of the comfort songs. Welcoming New Leadership: A Glimpse into University Officer Induction and Socialization

November 3, 2023 | Oath taking, Turnover ceremony and Socialization. A.Y 2023-2024

As the academic year unfolds, universities across the globe gear up for a significant event: the induction of newly elected student officers. This turnover ceremony marks the beginning of a new era, where fresh faces step into leadership roles, ready to guide their fellow students through the challenges and obstacles that lie ahead.

What will happen if we choose an unresponsive and inattentive leader for our university? Well, our school environment will probably be chaotic, right? What specific measures are we taking to prevent these occurrences? As a student and a member of this institution, I suggest that we should select aspiring leaders who foster positive relationships among individuals and encourage open communication to address the needs of the students.

Moving forward, fellow students and instructors gathered in the quadrangle to witness the induction of the newly elected officers and to interact with the people on the ground.

Through the induction ceremony, we also witnessed the farewell speech given by our former USC president, which made the crowd emotional due to its breathtaking nature. This event not only symbolizes a transfer of power but also signifies a dedication to promoting positive change within the university community. It is a formal event where the newly elected officers are officially sworn into their positions, assuming the responsibility of representing the student body.

In celebrating this momentous ceremony amidst a Halloween party, I wore a cute outfit inspired by Wednesday Addams' iconic look from the movie "Wednesday." This outfit perfectly matched my charisma, and I chose it to embrace the spooky season with a black and white theme.

Everyone walks on the red carpet to lay out a welcoming path for the arrival of every student attending the event. People walk the red carpet as a means of making their presence known and feeling connected to the audience and judges. It's a moment to be remembered.

After that memorable moment, the intermission number then comes in place. Where I am one of the performer of the Pop Dancers. All our efforts been paid off since the performance turn out good and we are honored to be 3rd place in the Awarding.

Later that evening, the emcee announced that the haunted house is now open to the audience. The event creates an atmosphere that keeps the energy of the Crimson. However, everyone could only go in groups of 5 people per trip. My friends and I decided to take the risk and venture into the spooky house, unaware of what awaited us inside.

The ambiance of the entrance itself, you can already feel the chill of the place.

Upon entering, the place is filled with the echoes of my fellow students' screams. Looking around, I've noticed how they turned these modern rooms into a spooky place in such a limited time. Well, I assume that they probably came up with different ideas when deciding how to decorate this spooky place.

Our university may appear small, but we still manage to organize events for the Crimsons to enjoy. It's not all about huge buildings, fancy libraries, or even spacious rooms. It's the people - the faculty, instructors, and skilled teachers of this institution - who provide a great learning environment for quality education among learners.

Here are some pictures we captured during the event.

Everyone represents different genres when it comes to creating creative Halloween outfits. Some people choose to portray characters, which often leads to winning awards for their amazing costumes that perfectly fit the theme of the event.

The night isn't over yet. Loud music bombarded the quadrangle ground, signaling everyone to enjoy the rest of the night. As the night descends, we pour our hearts and souls into singing along to the vibrant music, while the light dances through the shadows of the sky.

We enjoyed the rest of the event as if there were no tomorrow. We simply mind our own business and be ourselves throughout the night.

"This memorable event will always be remembered as the year comes to an end." I will forever treasure my college journey at Western Mindanao State University (WMSU), which I can describe as the coolest and most unforgettable Halloween experience I've ever had.

Eva é a vigésima Sim do mundo considerando do mais velho ao mais novo. F significa female, ou seja, ela é a nona Sim mulher. M significa male. Cores também são importantes para uma fácil identificação. Eu escolhi vermelho para Sims mulheres e azul para Sims homens. In the Sims tab of the spreadsheet, we have the information about the Sims. Each Sim has a tag. Eva's tag is 20S-9F. S stands for Sims. Eva is the twentieth Sim in the world from oldest to youngest. F stands for female, meaning she is the ninth female Sim. M stands for male. I chose red for female Sims and blue for male Sims. In the next columns we have the generation and age that the Sim is when appearing in the world. Older sims are listed first. Finally, the Sim's name, the family/group they belong to, and their biological parents.

This must be the final version of the Calendar after Prehistory. The game years have 28 days and each week equals a season. p represents spring, v summer,o autumn and i winter. (I left the abbreviations in Portuguese because spring and summer start with the letter s.) The first number is the year and the second is the day of the week. Tirei a referência da Wikipédia, embora não seja a melhor fonte de pesquisas é uma das fontes mais rápidas e bate com as informações dos vídeos que eu sigo. Em nome de bebês tem alguns exemplos de nomes sumerianos, considerando que seria a primeira civilização e um link onde coletei a maioria deles.

Added Human Chronology Events and Baby Names tabs. It is still under construction. In the chronology we have the main events until 2900 BC. I took the reference from Wikipedia, although it is not the best source for research, it is one of the fastest sources and matches the information from the videos I follow. In the name of babies has some examples of Sumerian names considering it would be the first civilization and a link where I collected most of them.

Hall of Fame - One Pound Challenge

Scott R Smith won the One Pound Challenge and we have his TGC Hall of Fame interview below:

You won the Game Parts Only Challenge back in July 2018 and your TGC Hall of Fame Interview is here. How has life and your game design journey been since winning that contest?

The Game Parts Only Challenge was the beginning of such an incredible journey in game design. I was so lucky that it brought me into contact with Jason Miceli and Darrin Horbal of Phase Shift games (two people I now consider friends), leading to my first publications, Kickstarter campaigns, and trips to GenCon and Essen. Really, the beginning of a whole second career and I can't begin to count all the amazing people in and outside the industry I've gotten the chance to meet along the way. Huge thanks both to TGC and to Eric Jome, the judge of that contest!

Please tell us about Sap Run.

Sap Run is a medium/light-weight race to fulfill syrup and candy orders on a maple tree farm. It's set in the early 1900s when they would have still been using horse-drawn sleds. Players drive their sleds literally up and down the 3D farm to tap trees, boil syrup and candy, and then package it all up to deliver to customers.

Where did the idea for this game come from?

I live in the Berkshires and I've spent a lot of time in Vermont. A few years ago, I made the note to try making a maple syruping game after driving by tap lines strung between trees near our house in Newfane, VT. Back then I tinkered with a design on a 3D hex grid set in the modern syruping era where players would build those tap lines using an action track, but it never quite came together. I still loved the theme though, so I kept it in the back of my mind. It resurfaced with the idea to set the game back in the era of syruping sleds and bring in the mechanic of uphill and downhill movement on the map. What really sinched the deal though was when I realized I could use TGC's potion vials as bottles that players could snugly fit their syrup tokens into-too perfect! I love getting inspired by components.

What makes this game special/unique?

Definitely the movement mechanic-you get to take actions on one tile when moving upwards, but potentially multiple tiles moving downwards. It's a simple idea that's really intuitive and rewarding in practice-I noticed that in my first rough demo. The other core concept was that the tiles would produce different grades of syrup depending on when they were used to collect syrup-that shifting makes the board a much more dynamic place to explore.

Did you create a design journal for your game? If so, did you publish it somewhere we can link to?

I didn't make an official design journal for this one, but I always keep a physical journal that I use for early ideas. Below you'll find a photo of one of those early pages…

Did you already have the idea for Sap Run in your head before the 1 Pound Challenge was announced?

The syruping concept was there, but the new mechanics ideas came after the contest announcement. It's awesome how often reading about a new TGC contest leads to fresh ideas!

What made you decide to enter your game into the contest?

My quick design process for contests goes something like this:

1) Sketch ideas in my notebook 2) Build a super-rough, super-minimal prototype and test it myself looking for a hook 3) Build a nicer prototype to test with friends.

If that first test with friends goes well, as it did with Sap Run, I try to use the deadline to help me really create a new design. I think of even the "final" design I submit for contests as a first draft-that's important to give myself permission to move forward-otherwise I'd never make a deadline.

Would you have been motivated to work on the game as much as you did without the contest?

As a dad with two busy kids at home? No chance!

Has winning inspired you to enter more contests or design more games?

For sure. Contests are hard-sometimes you put a ton into it and the game doesn't pan out or connect with judges for a million possible reasons. But usually they're a great gauge of an idea's potential. Just during the submission process looking at feedback and comments about the design, I can usually start to get an idea of whether or not this is something that's capturing the imagination of potential players. As long as you can learn to handle the disappointment of losing and you're willing to ditch an idea that's not going anywhere, there's no replacing the engagement with the design community-so much to learn just from taking the journey with others. I am constantly inspired by other designer's game submissions.

Could you describe any influence The Game Crafter has had on your success as a game designer?

I am a person that loves and is inspired by physical objects-and I think many of us in the board game community are. It's the reason I have a small vinyl record collection and still track down a copy of my favorite books to have on a shelf. The Game Crafter's offer to make my game design dreams physically real (even the ones that don't quite pan out) is so motivating for me. Without that carrot at the end of the stick, I doubt I ever would have gotten seriously into designing!

What's next for you?

I'll be at GenCon this year with Drop Drive (the spiritual successor to Dungeon Drop that won the Game Parts Only Challenge) and I have another 3D game called Slopeside signed with Phase Shift that should be launched on Kickstarter in the next year or two. In Slopeside, players build their own functioning ski mountains, lifting meeples to the top of cardboard peaks and skiing them down winding runs to earn points. I'm in a big winter phase between that and Sap Run right now! I am currently working on a pretty major revision of Sap Run to replace the game's current one-time-use Tool Cards with Tool Tiles that are built on the map to permanently alter the board. I really want players to finish the game feeling like they've built something by the time they've delivered their last order.

Any last words of encouragement or advice to all of the designers reading this?

I think one of the hardest balances to find in game design is the balance between enough commitment to your design to finish without overcommitment to a design destined to fail. The most useful tool I've developed is the ability to build an ultra-rough, mini prototype to test an initial concept before getting in too deep. The more you practice, listen and learn the easier it gets to find the happy place between flakiness and stubbornness, but know that it's a constant struggle we all face together.
