putting my prediction on record now that the coming decade is going to see the rise of viral-marketed fancy at-home water filtration systems, driving and driven by a drastic reduction in the quality of U.S. tap water (given that we are in a 'replacement era' where our current infrastructure is reaching the end of its lifespan--but isn't being replaced). also guessing that by the 2030s access to drinkable tap water will be a mainstream class issue, with low-income & unstably housed people increasingly forced to rely on expensive bottled water when they can't afford the up-front cost of at-home filtration--and with this being portrayed in media as a "moral failing" and short-sighted "choice," rather than a basic failure of our political & economic systems. really hope i'm just being alarmist, but plenty of this already happens in other countries, and the U.S. is in a state of decline, so. here's praying this post ages into irrelevance. timestamped April 2023

me: so yeah i feel super dizzy and lightheaded when i stand up and also just at random times of the day and also my heart just starts pounding randomly and it skips a beat randomly at least once a day and im also experiencing these other small things that i realized probably arent normal
the cardiologist: yeah, your heart’s beating too fast, but that’s just Normal Teenager Things™️! probably just like dehydration or something lol
#at least he sent me for blood tests and stuff#(which all came back normal)#and i have to wear a heart monitor for three days#my parents got mad at me because its been happening for a while and i didnt say anything#but in my defense i genuinely just didnt know that it wasnt normal#i thought that it just happened sometimes#also i didnt know the amount until i actually started to have to track it for the heart monitor#and maybe im not drinking Enough water but i genuinely dont think thats the main issue#i could be completely wrong but it feels like its more than that#we’ll see i guess#once im done with this and they get the results in and decide if they want to just brush it off or whatever#also had a nurse who was like weirdly insistent that i mustve been drinking a shit ton of soft drinks#just cause i mentioned that ill have a soft drink with meals sometimes (not nearly to the extent she was trying to say)#and she wouldnt believe me or my mom when we said that the soft drinks are pretty much always zero-sugar zero-caffeine#tachycardia#i mean thats what the doctor said it looks like#i dont really know what else to tag#chronic illness#maybe???#i dont know i dont have a diagnosis or anything so i dont wanna be like “oh thats def what that is”#also#pots#possibly#i did a shit ton of research on my own and i just really felt like what i was experiencing was lining up with it#but i dont wanna self diagnose

Now that I'm over 12 hours after the fact. It's a little funny of the universe to take away my braincells and let me burn my fingers so badly I got to give my work a doctor's note saying I'll be out for the weekend. After I complained for the nth time that 5 day weeks aren't good for me and I can't wait til end of summer for it to stop
Blisters under the cut! It's not gorey I just wanted to show what I'm dealing with but it is blisters so
Big ones are circled with thicker lines. Small ones are w smaller lones. The docs note us mostly so I don't risk infection at all, cause he thinks the blisters Will pop (which sounds Awful)
#i didnt update tumblr earlier but in my defense i couldnt and also i went to my joyfriend to chill out with after getting home#i touched a hot pan today with both hands and burnt my fingertips so bad i was crying for like a half hour straight with them under water#my crying was so shocking to my mom (and separately my sister. she doesnt see me cry) that she took me to urgent care woth my fingers in a#cup of ice. cause it got too painful if they werent in water after about a minute and a half#the doc did say it was a really sensitive spot (my FINGERTIPS) so its very painful for mild blisters on four fingertips#that did make me feel better and less like i was being dramatic just to get neosporin and bandaids put on. that and the doctors note#anyway i cant do minecraft but i can draw mostly like normal so this is fine#artfight will go on as normal and actually be more productive since i cant use minecraft to ignore artfight

okay so I’m thinking yknow like vampires. Vampires are undead so if they die then I don’t think they could leave a ghost. But werewolves? Werewolves are just people who got cursed furry style. They still have souls. If a werewolf died I think they could totally play by the usual ghost rules of violent deaths and unfinished business etc. so then I’m wondering, if a werewolf dies and leaves a ghost, is that ghost still a werewolf, or did dying break the curse? Cause like. Imagine. Youre a ghost but you still turn into a wolf every full moon. And your wolf sona is just out there acting an undead fool once a month. So anyway let me set the scene. Old house, next to some woods. The locals say some old loner died out there in mysterious circumstances. A couple moves in, they’re so optimistic. It’s so scenic. What a lovely private piece of land. Only… ah. It’s got a bit of a wolf problem. Oh well it’s the woods they expected some wildlife to come with that. But then,, hmm. The house might be haunted too? Yikes. Now this couple will soon discover that on the bright side, these two big issues are actually only one big issue. Unfortunately that one issue is a werewolf ghost.
#werewolves#ghost#and like I must emphasise that this is a comedy story#the couple are the working class pragmatic sort. not spiritual or superstitious in the least#they try out all the normal methods of dealing with pests and wolves and old creepy houses first#a local animal expert ranger guy gets called in because the couple is like we have a wolf problem please help and the ranger dude is like#welp you live where the wolves live so that’s on you tbh. but this is weird wolf behaviour so I’ll check it out#and then he comes up and he’s like I think the wolves around here on drugs actually#when the couples exausted their reasonable ideas they’re like :/ welp. time to call an exorcist#guess it’s time to call an exorcist#the ranger sticks around even after it turns out to not be real wolves cause he’s professionally interested in the fact it’s a werewolf#the nearest exorcist is like a day away so there’s various cuts to this priest or whatever driving to the middle of rural now where#and he’s keeps getting into mishaps along the road#like his car breaks down#he hits a deer and then holds a mini funeral and service for the deer#mayeb the deer turns into a ghost and follows him on his way to the werewolf ghost#thatd be something right#when he gets there he’s sprinkling the holy water and doing the chants#and it’s not working but they can tell something is up#they try to use a ouija board but it just keeps saying Awoooo#so then the couple and the exorcise call in one of those people who hold seances#and the werewolf is just like my fucking guy you don’t think I’ve been through this before?#i had people trying to exorcise me while I was alive man!#please picture the werewolf man saying that with a heavy New Yorker accent#oh but it’s important to note that this is not taking place in the US#I am picturing this being set in Italy. in like the Alps or something#I think it being set in Italy gives a certain catholic pizzazz to the ghost aspect#the alps have wolves I looked it up to double check#it wouldn’t have mattered to me if there weren’t wolves that would have just added to the comedy#but there are apparently 900 wolves in the Alps

#THERES JUST SOMETHING THAT HITS ABOUT THEM SEEING THE WOMAN WHO GAVE UP HER LIFE TO RAISE THEM AS BEAUTIFUL#like because to them she is one of the most. her tenderness and warmth and care and love for them as if theyre her own make her beautiful#amongst other things#its like when people who actually have a good relationship w their mothers say that their mom is the most beautiful woman in the world#thats exactly what this is giving and im all for it#this is the woman that read bedtime stories to them and wiped their tears and cooked their favourite meals#its from such a wholesome perspective too since theyre her brothers/kids like when they think of her beauty they think of#her demonstrations of love for them and her smile and her warm kind eyes and her liveliness#i could go on about this....#its also similar to how frank calls her beautiful multiple times which im totally normal (very insane) about#“there is a line of water across her forehead” shes run-down from housework and not dressed up at all but theres so much beauty in#her visible hospitality#her beauty isn't defined by it but its present within it#man. just the beauty of fiona gallagher.#+ it hits more when you realise that from their perspective there is no one else in the world who will love them as unconditionally or#no-one besides her who has done the things for them that shes done#this is the woman whose face theyve all looked into since they were babies
