Petnames (Damian Wayne x Reader)
summary: Damian calls you by your name while grocery shopping instead of the usual petnames, you're not a fan.
word count: 1,330
warnings: a vaguely suggestive sentence This is entirely based off of a TikTok I saw, I wish I could link it but I lost it. I really wanted to go more into Damian's Arab culture so this is the start :)
You rolled the cart forward, leaning your body weight onto the handle bar. Shelves stacked on top of shelves obscured your vision, aisles filled to the brim with expensive foods you didn’t even know existed.
Who cooks with saffron? Like seriously.
Damian insisted on going grocery shopping today and you didn’t hesitate to tag along, enjoying the peaceful company that his presence always brought. He was currently sifting through the tiny bottles of herbs in front of him.
Sesame seeds were gently placed in the cart alongside the lemons he picked out earlier, taking his time finding the perfect one for later tonight. Cumin found its way in the cart as well, set down right next to the yeast.
Damian’s cooking was one you had come to adore. He spared no expense when it came to providing you with a proper meal. He was fueled by his desire to provide, the act of service lover in him thrived on the sensation. So as he began to explore his culture’s cuisine, you were a constant support for him.
His new favorite pastime was experimenting with different flavored spreads, trying to perfect his own recipe so he could write it down in the household recipe journal right next to Alfred’s iconic banana bread and Tim’s new tofu recipe (created the second he learned Damian steered clear of animal products as much as possible, a vegetarian leaning slightly vegan if he could).
Damian had spent hours trying to learn how to craft dough from scratch, the fragile pita was a task he was willing to overcome with patience. Each time his hands would be covered in flour, the kitchen turned into a warzone of attempts. One batch was cooking, one was cooling, one was in his hands, and one was set aside to rise. You’d join him every time, sitting pretty on the counter while he worked, listening to the soft hum he let out as he concentrated.
Damian would kiss you in between, his cheeks dusted with flour that he barely noticed.
“You’re gonna get flour all over my clothes,” you’d whine in the kiss, complaints falling onto deaf ears as he kissed you deeply. His hands would settle onto the counter on either side of you, caging you in with his body.
“I’m sure you’ll manage just fine,” he’d smirk.
His sleeves would be rolled up after you insisted he wore an apron, he refused until you put it on him yourself. You’d tie the apron around his waist, the second you finished he’d pull you into a kiss in thanks. You’d blink and his hands would be under your thighs, lifting you onto the counter with the soft words of “I’ll need a taste tester.”
He’d hand you a small spoon every so often, watching your reaction with so much intensity it almost made you laugh with how serious he was about this. His eyebrows would furrow into the scowl as he waited for your feedback while you tasted the creamy hummus.
“It tastes amazing,” you’d gush, the flavors bursting to life on your tongue with how all the spices meshed together.
The satisfaction on his face was always worth it. It was small, but the pride blossoming inside of him was always so endearing to you. Your word of praise sunk straight into him until his heart felt lighter.
You’d flick flour at him as the night trailed onwards, smearing wet dough right on the tip of his nose so you could see him go cross-eyed.
“Oh you are going to regret that.”
“Am I?” you’d feign, holding back your own laughter.
By the end of the night, you’d be out of breath with giggles, socked feet sliding across kitchen tiles as he chased you. He’d always nab you, wrapping you so tightly against his body with no hope for escape. You’d fight until your clothes were covered in just as much flour as he was.
He’d smell of freshly cut herbs and the feeling of home. His tongue would taste of his marvelous cooking, an addicting essence you’d chase after well into the night while your dirty clothes lay discarded as an afterthought.
The clink of glass against the metal cart brought you straight back to the grocery store. You could feel the tingle on your lips from the memory. You coughed, looking up to find Damian deciding between two types of chickpeas. They slowly became a staple of the household, an easy protein substitute for Damian alongside tofu.
“Y/n, did you end up liking this one?” He turned to you, holding up the lightly colored kabuli package. The peas rattled against each other as the bag shifted.
You went to respond but your brain stuttered to a stop.
“What?”
Damian quirked up an eyebrow before repeating himself: “Did you enjoy the last hummus I made with these or did you prefer the other kind?”
“No, before that.”
Now Damian was really lost. “I said nothing before that, we haven’t spoken since I last asked you about the oils.”
You remembered, debating between the traditional olive oil or the more expensive avocado oil.
“You said my name.”
Damian nodded slowly, looking at you with a bewildered expression, one he used when he was trying not to call you a fucking twat.
“I did, yes.”
“Why did you call me that,” you almost pouted. “Are you mad at me?”
He scoffed, taken aback completely. “No,” the syllable raised with his surprise but he held it firm, reassuring you solidly. “It’s just your name.”
The chickpeas were long since forgotten, his hands falling beside his thighs as he leaned against the cart.
“What did I do?” you asked, your heart sinking.
Damian couldn’t tell if you were being serious or messing around with him. He spoke slowly, “Am I not allowed to say your name?”
You fully pouted, your words feeling embarrassing the more the conversation continued. “You just always use a nickname like beloved or love, you only ever call me by my name when you’re mad at me.”
The corner of his mouth twitched upwards, a playful feeling settling behind his eyes. He didn’t realize how much those names meant to you, he’d remember that next time.
“No I don’t,” he remarked, the playful retort falling from his lips easily.
“Yes you do!” you laughed, if you were closer you would’ve punched him in the shoulder (not like he would’ve moved or anything, but it got the message across all the same). “Cmon, Dames, what did I do?”
“You didn’t do anything,” Damian said. “I merely wanted to grab your attention so I could know which flavor to buy.”
“Then take it back,” you huffed, crossing your arms over your chest.
Damian looked at you with a bored expression. “Excuse me?”
“Take it back,” you demanded, standing firm in your words. “Call me something else.”
“Is that really necessary?”
You pleaded with your eyes, willing every ounce of puppy dog sadness into your gaze. Damian narrowed his eyes in return. You were playing a dirty trick, knowing his weakness and exploiting it. He stood unwavering for a single moment, staring straight into your eyes with his own.
But in the end, those eyes would always make him cave.
“Fine,” he sighed, rolling his eyes in feigned annoyance. “Beloved, darling, love of my life, habibti,” the arabic term of endearment rolled off his tongue with ease, it always made your chest flutter, “What flavor would you prefer?”
You smiled wide, a big toothy grin that made your eyes sparkle.
Damian tsked, “Are you satisfied now?”
“Yes,” you beamed, your hands falling from your chest and back onto the cart handle. “And the desi one, it’s creamier.”
Damian plopped the bag into the cart. “You are such a dork.”
You hummed, “You love me, don’t lie.”
“Do I, Y/n?” Damian smiled, turning away to exit the aisle.
“Aye!” You followed after him, hearing the soft chuckle from afar.

omg ur muslim??? can u write nick x muslim bf fic or hc anything
OMG???? ANON ILY LMFAAOO I LAUGHED SO HARD AT THIS BUT I IMMEDIATELY STARTED THINKING AB IT BC I DID HAVE AN EX WHO’s HINDU. important to note that im indonesian so my muslim experiences are probably gna be kinda different than others but ill try to make it as general as possible
- When you first started talking to him he was so confused on whether you were actually flirting with him or were you just overly friendly. When you mentioned in passing that you’re muslim he was convinced you’re straight bc he thought no way you could be muslim and gay (he’s white american so i’m 80% convinced he actually thinks like this lol)
- You flirt and flirt and flirt but the idiot convinces himself you were just really comfortable with your masculinity that you can compliment him, caress his face, touch his hair, stare at him for hours, and go on little dates with him without being gay💀 He would laugh off all your advances and you would just get so defeated and think damn he’s rlly not into me when actually he would scream and kick his footsies into the air everytime he sees a picture of you.
- You were in the middle of staring into his ocean blue eyes when you can feel both your and his breath hitching in the space between. Nick was blushing and nervously look around the room and you can’t help but think he’s just the prettiest boy ever so you thought “fuck it” and confessed. he was so shocked but so so sooo happy when you confessed, he excitedly said yes he definitely wants to be your boyfriend.
- it was in the middle of watching a series with him when you excused yourself to go pray. atp he was still confused on how does being muslim while queer work but he doesn’t know how to bring it up, he’s scared of being offensive. You also knew he was curious from how he has this thinking face whenever you mention anything islam related so you decide to explain to him that you did struggle a lot with faith crisis when discovering your sexuality.
you explained more on how you did have a phase where you hated religion and how it’s hateful. that was before you learned Islam and read the Qur’an on your own, without the interpretation of hateful people and privileged men who skew the teachings to benefit them. so, you learned that your relationship with God is personal and intimate, never one to be judged by any mortal, and more. now, your relationship with Islam is better than ever. (yes this is a self projection of my own relationship with religion lmao) He understands and from that moment on he would try to get out of his way to learn more about Islam and your culture so that he could understand you better.
- You regularly say “Wallahi” “Inshallah” “Alhamdulillah” everyday and he would adopt it too eventually and you would giggle and think it’s the funniest shit ever bc more often than not he would get the use of the phrase wrong, he would just think it’s like random arabic filler words😭
- Ramadan arrives he’s the most supportive partner you can think of during Ramadhan. He’d try to help you cook and order food for suhoor and iftar, and he’d try to support you by not eating in front of you.
“Babe, it’s okay for you to eat in front of me, that’s literally the point of Ramadhan”
“No, it’s fine, I’m not hungry anyways”
- Nick was, actually, fucking starving.
- The first week of Ramadhan passes and he doesn’t feel as fatigued and hungry anymore. He doesn’t even remember to eat sometimes, basically he fasts with you. Fasting became a routine for him and he quite enjoys it eventually.
“I’m gonna be so skinny at the end of the month”
- He gained weight😭 the huge iftar meals with your parents/ friends or just both of you going to a restaurant did more thickening than slimming his body. If you’re close with your parents, you introduce Nick to your parents during iftar and your mom forces the boy to try and eat all the food. He’s not mad though bc your family’s food is like nothing he’s ever had before and he EATS IT UPPP.
- Whenever you try to be sneaky and break your fast he would scold you😭😭😭 pulling out hadiths and out-muslim you
“Nick, you’re not even muslim!”
“So? That’s not halal! Astaghfirullah”
“What?!”
- The hardest thing for him during the month is not gossiping with you. You know he’s a natural hater at heart so when he sees gossipable activities he is CLENCHING trying not to tell you. When it’s iftar he screamssss and pulls out the whole tea with bulletpoints and a powerpoint slide
a/n: that’s all i got for now hope you enjoy it anon i did enjoy thinking ab this its so funny

Hey I’m gonna probably post more serious stuff because I need to have discussions with people about Palestine. For one I live in an area and am surrounded by people who aren’t pro Palestinian. They don’t take anything surround boycotts or information in general about the genocide serious at all because it doesnt effect them. It’s starting to wear on me because there’s no one to cope (idk if that’s the right word) with what I see online on a daily basis. Ever since mid October or so? (When the tik tok algorithm caught up with the time) I’ve seen countless atrocities that I’ve only ever seen in video games or movies played out in real life against real people. I learned what real bombs sound like both far away and up close because of these videos. Lately I’ve also started to dream about being trapped in Gaza with that feeling of death looming. It sounds dramatic but it’s true. Every day I’m thankful that I’m constantly shown information about Palestine and surrounding Arab countries and I’m also in shock. I’m in shock for a few reasons. 1: I’ve watched for months now, a country, a land and it’s people go through something worse than hell and nobody around feels the same sadness and basic human empathy. No one cares to take in that there’s a massive loss of life and culture and future for whatever reason. It’s gut renching to think about it. 2: I can’t help beyond witnessing and documenting. It seems stupid and corny to think that we’re privileged to have phones but documenting this horrible event through a phone camera is so incredible for history. It just feels almost insulting that that’s all I can do as a poor college student in America. Yes, I can call my representatives which thankfully where I live do support a free and liberated Palestine, but others won’t even do much as think about their constituents. It’s hard because it feels like we’re trying to move a volcano with plastic beach shovels. So all we can do is sit and save videos before social media giants take them down. 3: coming to terms that nobody looks out for each other on a large scale. Because I follow now many journalists from various sectors ranging from on the ground in Gaza to political scientists giving me lessons on the United Nations history, I’m shocked at how all of it is fake. Nothing makes sense anymore. You’re telling me because 2 countries won’t vote on a ceasefire but 98% do we can’t move on with it? Why does the US get privileges that to my limited knowledge no one else has the same power leverage as. How has nobody else stepped in when MANY war crimes are being committed. Why do they even exist if countries are never seriously prosecuted? Why even have rules if you can’t follow them? It’s disheartening to watch but I can’t give up hope. I’m not giving up hope because that’s all we have. I may not have direct ties to Palestine but as if needless suffering is enough for me to care, I care especially for the queer family in Gaza. They are as much apart of the queer family as my roommates are. I don’t know if and when we lose LGBTQ+ people in Gaza but I know it’s happening so I cry for the loss of our family. I need to see an end to this. I need to. I don’t know how to process any of what I’ve witnessed or feel right now or even what else I can do to help stop a genocide. I need to talk to people so please may you strike up conversation. Correct me in any place, tell me about the latest boycotts, show me protests. Please converse we have to keep hope alive.

They can't get enough of you lol. It's not like you're purposefully tagging the Zionist posts with anti ts posts, they saw a jew and went actually ❤️ they don't know what they're talking about, i know better than them. JVP is good because it aligns with what I want to believe In.
Sad for the "many jewish friends that stand against Israel" though.
ah yes, another goy mad that a jew disagrees with them about what is and isn’t antisemitic like they have any leg to stand on. mentioning their token jewish friends is pretty typical.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
JVP believes all you have to do to be jewish is just start saying you’re jewish. AS A JEWISH PERSON, that is fucking wrong and antisemitic. ask any jewish person who was born jewish or actually converted and they will tell you the same fucking thing. has this bitch heard that they also don’t know the difference between arabs and egyptians? that’s pretty racist, no?
if some random goy wants to bitch and whine and label me a zionist (derogatory) because they don’t know what they’re talking about and want to seem like they have the moral high ground to all their other goy antisemite friends, i do not give a single flying fuck. I’m gonna keep doing what I’m doing. if anyone wants to actually learn about what’s going on, they can listen to actual jews and the palestinian people of gaza whose majority voted in favor of a two state solution. so, if you’re advocating for the destruction of israel bc “from the river to the sea”, you’re going against the wishes of the people in gaza who actually have to deal with the consequences of whatever america leftists decide to meddle with. if they can sleep at night knowing they’re not only fucking it up for jews, but also the palestinians they claim they love so much, then they’re no one i care about. palestine deserves freedom from hamas to make its own decisions. if you disagree, you’re not for a free palestine.

CROWWWW YOUR OC'S SOUND SO COOL!!!!
Macbeth is my personal favorite so far (I'm biased cause I'm Slavic hehe) he just sounds so complex!!! And from what you wrote, I can very much tell you put time into researching the mentality of Slavic men, and that friend of yours seems to know what they're talking about. Finally, Slavic representation is more than just Russian terrorists or Balkan gang leaders. You've got no idea how much I appreciate being able to see my culture in art and writing. So far, Macbeth reminds me of my father a little bit <3 Slavic culture is iften very overlooked when it comes to representation and we see things about us that are inaccurate, offensive, or just plain rude. Glad to see we're finally getting a bit more respect within other communities, especially in books and fanfiction!
Thank you so much for this Crow, you don't know how much it made my day. I feel so seen.
Share some more random little facts about your OC's if you'd like! I'd love to hear the niche little details, like who of the characters is a night owl and who's an early bird, I'd love to know who bickers the most often, who's the tallest and the shortest, what are the deeper dynamics in the group like etc etc. I wanna hear it all!!!!
Love you Crow!! And I'm so excited for the next Undercover installment too (no pressure to hurry up, I'm just fangirling lmaoo) <33
-🌓
I’M GONNA CRY!! I really appreciate your love for Macbeth (as well as my Undercover series!!) and I’m very excited to introduce all three of my ocs. My friend who has helped me with Macbeth is Ukrainian themself and I wanted to do them right with Macbeth. (love u pookie) One of the reasons why I created Macbeth is because I was doing research on my family lineage for my father!
As for heights, Macbeth is actually the tallest! He stands at 5’10” (177.8 cm), although Hamlet is only half an inch behind him. He’s 5’9.5” (176.5 cm). Mantis is a few inches shorter at 5’6” (167 cm).
I would like to think that Mantis is a night owl. She thrives in a private setting; don’t get me wrong, she works well with other people and is a key person in her team! But she prefers being alone or with one other person. She likes the silence as there’s no chaos. Though at times, the silence does spook her if she’s just come back from a mission. Remaining adrenaline gets her jumpy.
Macbeth is an Early Bird unwillingly. He’s always been an early bird since childhood, not exactly something he could help. He will wake up at 0430 on the dot without an alarm. If he does not want to be up early, expect him to take some sleep medication 💀 Macbeth isn’t exactly mad about this as it’s typical to wake up early in the military. He also gets a few mundane tasks done before his day officially starts. Macbeth enjoys being able to watch the sun rise whilst smoking a cigarette.
Hamlet.. he’s neither. He is the definition of “soldiers sleeping anywhere”. He does not like getting up in the slightest, so don’t be surprised when you wake him up to take next watch, he complains under his breath. If he had to pick his favorite time of day though, definitely sunset or just right after it due to how beautiful the sky looks!
Mantis knows four languages like I’ve mentioned, and she’s currently learning Ukrainian. She knows English (Native speaker), Spanish, Russian, and Arabic. Macbeth sits her down and helps her practice a bit, and he can’t help but chuckle under his breath when Mantis’ lips refuse to move the correct way and she speaks Ukrainian with a butchered accent. It’s much better than a lot of other American’s attempts but again, Ukrainian is an entirely different language than her native language, so she sounds a bit ridiculous. Hamlet knows English (native speaker), Mandarin, and Arabic! Macbeth grew up in Mykolaiv, Ukraine until he was fourteen, so he knows Ukrainian (native speaker), Russian, Belarusian, and English. The order of their languages are the order of which they’ve been learned!
Their dynamics? Hmm… Hamlet is definitely a loyal guard dog type. You’ll see this throughout the tempest series. Hamlet bickers. Doesn’t matter who it is. He’s always bickering. It’s often Mantis and Hamlet getting into it with Macbeth having to intervene, or it’s Hamlet and Macbeth bickering and Mantis wanting both of them to shut the fuck up 😭
i’m really bad at sharing things about ocs without direct questions so i’m accepting any questions!!

Mystic Messenger x Middle Eastern Reader
Basically POV youre Middle Eastern and the little things that add to the relationship
Characters; Jumin Han, V, 707
A/N: you might be thinking, dami, why are you writing for a dead fandom about something nobody asked for? And i assure you. Impulse overtakes me on a daily basis. Also I feel the need to add that I am Middle Eastern
(Gender neutral reader as per the usual!)
V
When he first saw you, he thought you were beautiful
Because of his nature, he really wanted to photograph you in warm sunlight. He felt the best way to remember you was by taking as many photos as he could
When you told him where you were from, he thought it was pretty cool, and always likes to ask about your cultures and traditions.
I like to think he wants to try your country’s cuisine, and he’ll definitely like it. Probably buys a cookbook so he can learn your favourite desserts and foods, and he thinks its a great way to learn more about you.
Since he travels abroad often, if you’re comfortable, he’d love to visit your hometown, and possibly your parents as well.
Oh my god he would be so so good to your parents
He’s respectful, greets them at the door, brings his own food to give to them
You know because he’s loaded he can basically buy expensive ass gifts for your family if they’re more traditional
So so sweet. Helps you do housework at your parents’ home, all of that.
He honestly wants to learn how to speak modern Arabic, or your Arabic slang as well.
It’s just he doesn’t know where to start.
Like? How do all the different pronouns work? Why are there so many words for so many different specific things?
Pls help him
Oh yeah he definitely messes up by saying some slang word that means something entirely inappropriate given the context. Watch him call a cat a bra bc he doesn’t know the difference
Calls you habibi/habibti (my love) or hayati (my life) because its the only words he kind of knows the meaning of
Overall really sweet like he always is. Practically the best boyfriend ever. Unmatched
Jumin Han
Oh you have nothing to worry about at all
The worlds most civilised polite businessman with manners that are just perfect for meeting your parents with
He’s already travelled half the Arabian peninsula I’m 90% sure he knows the language too
Super sophisticated, super sweet
If you like any particular food he hires a full fledged 3 Michelin star ass restaurant chef for any dish you’d like
Oh you want some kubba or smn? Say no more in the next few hours you’re eating the best kubba in your life ok
Idc if you don’t like kubba the 3 Michelin star ass chef is gonna make you like it I swear
Has probably already been to where you live at least twice but he’ll go again just for you
He finds you absolutely gorgeous like have you seen yourself you’re gorgeous
Likes to trace your face and cheeks with his knuckles and tells you you’re absolutely beautiful
Can probably get any outfit tailored perfectly to you the moment you mention your specific traditional clothing
Again your parents cant refuse. He’s literally a corporate executive of the highest ranking business where he is. He has so much money he’ll only ever get richer. Dowry money? Oh yeah that costs just about an eighth of his weekly salary let’s double the dowry
You feel v v v loved. Unmatched husband material
707
He knows Arabic
Was a bit shocked when you had zero issue getting into his house bc u know the language enough to say cat in Arabic
But he also sort of knew so he changed the entire algorithm of his lock system to be in Tagalog just to be safe
Vanderwood has held a grudge since then
You know how he is he’s totally got every random nuanced joke memorised and prepared up his sleeve so if you swear in your language slang ever he probably knows what it means and will definitely snicker even if you don’t realize it
Honestly nothing much changes he just knows already lmfao

AHH A BABY BOYYY!!!
it’s so cool that your partner is korean! your son is gonna be the most multicultural kid ever, especially if you raise him to speak or understand the languages you know (and i thought my mix was interesting haha)
speaking of, i remember you saying you were learning arabic! how’s that going?
- 🪐
I KNOW RIGHT AHHHH i cannot wait to meet him i hate that i have to wait so long😭
yes!! he’s still learning korean himself as he actually grew up in aberdeen in scotland (we met at uni in manchester haha!), but i think we really want to teach baby it eventually as i know it’s my partners dream to visit korea for some time and i’d love to take him there with our baby one day🥹 such a random logistic i never even considered about until i found out i was pregnant like … its a lot of languages between us what are we gonna choose
OH YES!! i’m still trying my best, it’s definitelyyy the hardest i’ve had to learn but it’s such a beautiful language. i’m starting to be able to form simple sentences. i need to get back on it tbh as id love to be able to communicate with my best friend in her language🥹🤍

How absolutely kind of Israel to let Palestinians know when their homes are gonna be bombed. Maybe if Israel wasn’t a terrorist state hamas wouldn’t exist. If during the process of “eliminating” Hamas you are bombing and orphaning children you’re creating so many more Hamas members
the victims of october seventh weren’t as lucky. if there’s any terrorist state it’s the ‘state’ of palestine, considering they actually commit acts of terror. walking into cafes with bomb vests, constantly raining rockets onto civilian targets, the like.
israel is the most successful landback movement in history. if you look up the international criteria for ‘indigenous people’, the jewish people fit, and the palestinians don’t. the arabs colonized the area a long time ago and no matter how hard the various colonizers tried, they were unable to remove a jewish presence from the region. israel is a small space. it’s about the size of new jersey. what confuses me is why the ‘palestinians’, a cultural identity that did not emerge until after the ‘67 war, can’t be absorbed into the other arab nations in the region - oh, wait, they antagonized them all by overthrowing two governments (jordanian and lebanese).
the palestinians are the most privileged refugees in the world. they’re also the most entitled. they are the only group to have received generational refugee status. they receive the most aid in the world per capita, much of which is from israel, the people they terrorize. however, i saw a palestinian man on twitter film a video and post it to tiktok complaining about the mre he’d gotten - keep in mind, that’s the food that american service members eat? it’s a higher quality food package than typical disaster relief food?? the fuck??
now they insist the indigenous people move aside? automatically forgive the past century, past milennia, of terror and oppression, just so some overprivileged people who refuse to assimilate anywhere and demand land that doesn’t belong to them can get away with mass rape, terror, and hypocrisy?
let me ask you this - what exactly do you think the gazans would do with an airport?
don’t get me wrong, i’m not jewish. no need to throw slurs or accusations at me. i’m american, not israeli. i came into this conflict with little to no knowledge of the region and, after extensive research, came out a zionist. i leaned left before this. however these days, on this issue specifically, ben shapiro makes more sense than hasan. do you know how much that pisses me off? i hate the right! fuck republicanism in general! why do i have to agree with them? once the left starts making sense again i’ll come back, but it’s been made abundantly clear that leftists want the destruction of the jewish people like every fascist group before them.
regarding making new hamas members - i get where you’re coming from. however you underestimate the effect that a peaceful protest movement could have on the people of israel. these are not awful people, and believing such is antisemitic - and their government listens to them. why do you think they’re bombing gaza instead of extensive ground operations? they don’t want to lose soldiers and deal with their families voting against them. the jewish people can absolutely be convinced into palestinian statehood, you just need to convince them, instead of killing them. what’s the incentive for them to create another enemy state in the region?
do your own research and stop listening to the people around you. look into the jewish religion and their connection to the land. i know it’s easy to get sucked into what others think of an issue, but it’s your responsibility to form opinions for yourself. benny morris has some good books. a concise history of a nation reborn by daniel gordis is also a good one. rise above the hate around you and see the situation for what it is, and don’t shrink your historical knowledge to the past century - learn about the land if you insist on wasting the oxygen necessary for life, why don’t you.

TW: political talk, mentions of war crimes and genocide, mentions of terrorism.
Preface and addendum, added 11 December 2023: I’ve been watching this conflict off and on for years now and have been keeping an eye on this most deadly wave of violence. Israel should not fucking exist; it is an apartheid state based in colonialism and only able to maintain funding and any legitimacy by using pity and guilt tactics against European nations and the United States (based in guilt or fears from after WWII) and propaganda that biases these nations further against Arab people who have lived there for centuries, vs American and European Zionist Jews who have only had a politically-recognized “nation” there since 1948. Yes, there were Jews in the Middle East (i will make another post later about why I as an Arab Jew hate that descriptor personally), and there have been Jews there since the dawn of Judaism. And Israel, as a “nation”, was originally written in sacred text to be a large family and community that defended itself when needed and only to the extent needed and other than that left everyone the fuck alone. The Israeli apartheid regime as we know it today is very well and truly NOT founded in scriptural law. I feel as if my post pre-addendum made it sound as if i thought the apartheid nation should continue to exist. I have never once believed it should; the extreme racism and violence against Arab people regardless of religion that i have previously discussed should more than show what i believe. And while yes, i do support Judaism as a religion and Jewish people (and why wouldn’t i as a fellow Jew?), i refuse to support, tolerate, or otherwise allow a genocide against my fellow human beings in Palestine.
Furthermore, Israel is a notoriously homophobic political entity, and the fact that the IDF is spreading propaganda that they are more tolerant than Palestinians is honestly bullshit, and it is a disgusting way to attempt to cover their own crimes and aggressions toward another marginalized community in order to further delegitimize and attack Palestinians.
Palestinian people have no food, no power, no water, and no hope of humanitarian aid because of the increasingly dangerous situation caused by the IDF and its allies and supporters.
FTRTTS🇵🇸
UPDATE: turns out part of my family is actually Palestinian too. My great aunt did a little digging and found some old papers. This was really stressful to learn on the same day I learned about the fact that there are no more hospitals in Gaza. I’m kind of going through it.
End addendum; original post begins below.
—————————
I’m not gonna make any more fucking comments about politics except in the United States for a while because my heart is torn to pieces by the act of a certain nation using white phosphorus over populated areas, which is a war crime, and murdering, displacing, and injuring (over the course of several years) over 2.4 million mostly innocent people, or 1.5 times the amount of people killed and displaced in the Armenian Genocide. On top of that, they started attacking a THIRD country. Also with white phosphorus, a chemical known to be so flammable that it burns people, buildings, trees, infrastructure, crops, etc., ON CONTACT.
The second nation mentioned is allegedly the main origin of a terrorist organization that has taken over 800 people hostage (the real causes of the conflict as it is currently unfolding), but the first nation’s response is disproportionately affecting civilians and not having the intended effect on the actual source of the conflict.
My heart is torn in two because my mother’s family is from one nation. My father’s family is from another. Both are now wrapped up in this conflict. And I can’t help but be mad on behalf of the poor civilians on all sides caught in the crossfire and the chemical weapons residue on all sides.
This is not to say I condone a terrorist organization taking hostages and murdering people. I loathe terrorism. But I do believe that this is something way larger than we’re all making it out to be and that there are facts being buried because they don’t suit a narrative. A fourth nation, nowhere near the geographic proximity of the affected areas, promised the same parcel of land for two of the nations and colonized the SHIT outta that land for many years.
And yes, I will share my complicated and nuanced feelings about this, as this will be my ONLY post on the subject.
I am Jewish, and I am Arab simultaneously. My family is not Palestinian, but Lebanese. White phosphorus is being poured over my family’s original homeland. Another ancestral group is the group using the chemical weapons over populated areas and committing a war crime. I don’t condone the actions of Hamas (edit: some of what i have read may be propaganda and i am attempting to find better sources), as they do not speak for the majority of the people of Palestine. I also do not condone the Israeli genocide of Palestinians over the past several years. As I mentioned before, the total casualty count of this genocide (and I WILL call it that since it does meet the criteria even if it isn’t formally recognized as such yet) is currently at least 2.4 million people, probably more. This is, as I’ve said, 1.5 times the casualties of the (formally recognized) Armenian Genocide, and over 1/3 the total of people killed in the largest formally recognized systemic murder of a target group or set of groups in human history.
Atrocities are being committed by a terrorist organization, but the response disproportionately affects civilians. Especially children. Most cases being treated by Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), are Palestinian children. Actually, scratch that, nearly one hundred percent of cases. They as an organization have confirmed that number.
ADDENDUM: Médecins Sans Frontières have also just confirmed, as of about three hours ago, that BOTH SIDES of this conflict have been beheading CHILDREN. So far at least ten beheadings of children have been attributed to Israeli forces. We also must not forget that Hamas has also been beheading children, in much greater number that has yet to be successfully totaled. My heart goes out to the grieving Israeli and Palestinian mothers and fathers and siblings today.
UPDATE: the above may have since been proven incorrect and i am locating all possible sources to re-evaluate this statement.
Furthermore the injured are currently at immediate risk. See below.
I don’t agree with Hamas and their policies of beheading and assault (edit: as previously stated, these may have been disproven), but I don’t agree with any of this shit that the Israeli government’s response has caused. This isn’t antisemitism, this is being against human rights violations. The Zionist movement’s governing body does not speak for all Jews. Hamas does not speak for all Palestinians.
There really is a colonial power to blame for a majority of conflict since 1918, and that is Britain. Everything got SIGNIFICANTLY worse when the British came in and promised the same parcel of land to two groups of people, and then worsened even more at a rapid rate when the British left.
And now Lebanon has been dragged into the crossfire; i will edit this post if I find evidence of direct involvement of the Lebanese government in these events.
EDIT: as confirmed by Al Jazeera news, at least two Lebanese people and a journalist in Lebanon have been killed by Israeli air strikes. Israel has infringed on Lebanese airspace more than 22000 times since 2007. Lebanese rockets or similar very rarely land over the border.
But for now, I’m really against Hamas but also against the Israeli government’s decision to arbitrarily hurt civilians in their efforts to stop Hamas.

Big wedding tomorrow! I just took a peek at royal confessions and Rajwa is apparently the new favorite married in royal. Makes a lot of sense. She’s new, foreign (to me) and we don’t know anything about her. There aren’t any scandals, she’s in the 20, early 30s age group, college graduate, comes from wealth, an equestrian, great fashion and will eventually be queen. No one knows her opinion on things and I’m guessing from the region/family the narrative will be tight. There may be new trips, a cause she supports, kiddos to look forward to etc. it’s all so new!
I know this page is new and I came into to royal watching fandom around lockdown. The blogs I mainly follow are geared towards the BRF. A lot of those ladies and gents?have been a watcher long before William and Catherine and some like me started up with Megxit or even just as they (MM) joined the firm. Quarantine solidified it all and brought in more people with the drama (even just loosely), the Harkles relentlessly throwing “shade” to say the least back at the firm and the press playing into it all. I think allot of new watchers might flock to Jordan watching especially if they do more public appearances despite the language barrier. It’s new royal escapism. I read on another blog that a new wedding seems to do that for a royal house. Like a big reset and all the royal ladies will wear tiaras…. Yeah gonna bring a lot of attention.
I wished a read Arabic, in general I’d like to learn. & so I could also read what’s going on over there. I’m in the states.
All the best to Jordan.
Helllo, welcooome !!
On the contrary hhh I joined the royal fandom because of the Jordanian royal family than I knew bout the British one! Yess so much drama tbh 😂
About Rajwa apparently yeees she's the new favorite married in royal. She's somehow special, I mean her personality she's so extrovert and friendly!
And we got to see royal ladies in tiaras I liked that ( I was thrilled specially to see Iman and Salma with tiaras!)
The wedding was a royal escapism and a beautiful fairytale! I think the coverage on Hussein and Rajwa in the future may sometimes be translated in English! I encourage you to learn Arabic it's not that difficult trust me !

Likewise.
Hence why I plan on learning Syriac.
Like I said.
Outside of the Assyrian communities very few people speak it, aside from maybe some Maronites and some Indian Syriac Christians in Kerala.
Plus I figure I may as well learn something what with me being an Irishman what can’t speak Irish.
In addition to Syriac I also have plans to learn Armenian.
And perhaps even Navajo, Basque, Chuvash, Georgian and Adyghe (a Circassian language). Hypothetically…
My dream is to learn a million languages but I really doubt that’ll happen. I’m gonna try to get Hebrew down and after that I think I can get Arabic. Idk what other Semitic languages there are but I can probably get then. Idk what after that if anything.
I should’ve started with Spanish or something but I’m Ashkenazi Jewish so I have more cultural connection to Hebrew. Also considering languages from my European heritage (German, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Yiddish) but idk.
I also have a friend who’s Armenian, which is neat. We’ve only talked about that once tho and I probably don’t want to push her on that.

Language lesson
Tumblr media
Pairing: Salim x Jason x Reader
Summary: Just an ordinary evening with the boys, bonding through learning each other’s language
Words: 1100~
Genre: Fluff
You twirled the smooth golden rings on your finger once again, feeling the delicate carvings along the side with your fingertips. In the beginning it felt strange, even a little awkward to wear them, you didn’t know quite yet how it would be the best to show them. Jason wore them on a chain - said this way Salim and you are always near his heart, while Salim just put them on each of his ring fingers, never taking them off afterwards.
You decided to wear both rings on one finger; it was the most comfortable with your busy daily tasks.
“You keep twirling them around, they’re gonna wear out soon,” Jason chuckled, hopping down on the couch next to you. You shoot a grimace at him as you snatch a textbook from his hand.
“Let’s see how much you’ve learnt,” You mumble, turning pages to search for a difficult word.
It has been almost two years now since the boys and you decided to move in together, but your main source of communication remained english. While it was the easiest and best way because all three of you understood it, you wanted to learn Arabic, so Salim could feel more comfortable, when Zain wasn’t here and the same went for Jason and Salim as well. You thought it would be a sweet gesture to know each other’s native language, even if it was just the basics.
While you and Salim progressed quite quickly, Jason had the mission to learn two languages at once.
“Let’s see what the Great Scholar learnt this week,” You chuckled, mischievously raising your brows at him.
Jason groaned, leaning back on the couch, adjusting his hat for the challenge.
“Ain’t fair, I’m the one who has to learn two goddamn other languages! Fuck they aren’t even similar, what I am? A linguist?”
“Give yourself some credit, Hayati.” You saw Salim coming down the stairs, with a handful of dirty clothes. “You’re doing great."
"Yeah, now at least you can’t say you don’t understand the struggle when we forget words."
Jason sighed, rolling his eyes. "How amazin’ for me.”
With a lopsided smile you gave him one last look, before turning back to the pages in your lap.
“Okay, then let’s start with something easy, okay?”
“Now you want to pity me?” Jason put his nose in the air defiantly. “I ain’t stupid. I can deal with some words ya know, Sweetheart."
Salim let out a titter from another room and you smothered a smile. "Heard him, Darling, bring it on!” he shouted back to you encouragingly.
“Arright’ get ready.” You giggled, looking up at Jason, with his patiently waiting expression. “How do you say: How are you?"
Jason’s brows knitted tightly together while he was thinking of an answer. Eyes flashing from one corner to the other, you found his expression amusing and sweet.
After he correctly answered your question he waited for your approval with wide eyes.
"Yeah, that was correct Kolchek. Good job.” You nodded, smiling. “Now the same phrase in arabic?”
“Goddamn it, you want my brain drained, don’t you? Gimme a minute. Uhh… kay alukam?"
"Kayf halukam, is the correct one.” Explained Salim behind you, probably from the laundry room - judging by the click of the washing machine’s door.
“…Kayf halukam.” Jason articulated, and you said the words with him - after all practice never hurts.
It really made your heart flutter watching Jason’s enthusiasm and spirit to learn and understand and know you more; showing his devotion for you two with learning.
“…So? Babe? Are you in there?” You blinked, your thoughts faded back to your mind as Jason waved his hand in front of your face. Grinning, you caught his hand, pulling it closer to your lips.
“You’re already learnt so much Dear..” You cooed, kissing his knuckle with feather touches.
Jason chuckled, his expressions softened;  a timid smile curving upon his lips.
He turned to the side, eyes fixed on the carpet in front of you and you noticed
a faint blush- slowly turning bright red on his neck and ears.
You purse your lips with a smile, watching him for a moment, taking in the sweet view. You always saw it as a small victory whenever you could make Jason flushed with your compliments. Seeing the ex-marine- who always showed his stern, and oh so serious side to the outside world, got giddy and embarrassed – skin turning to a bright red shade; he looked like a little boy who just got praised for being good.
“Alright I’m here now,” Grunted Salim as he sat down between the two of you, leaning back, arms stretching out on the sofa. “Ask me some questions too."
You shuffled back to the side, turning your hips to Salim, you placed your legs up on his lap and he gave you a soft squeeze on your feet.
"Of course, get yourself comfortable Honey, the rest of us can fit in this little space so well.” He chuckled, shooting a faked frown at your direction, then he leaned into Jason’s shoulder, a content sigh leaving his lips.
“M'kay folks tell me when you’re done and can continue.” Mumbled Jason.
“Look at this eagerness,” Salim teased, poking you for attention. “Where did it come from?"
You giggled seeing Jason’s eye roll for the statement, tilting his head to the side.
"It came from the fact that whenever you two wake up I hear nothing but gibberish mumbling for straight thirty minutes which I’m damn sure isn’t English.” He argued with an annoyed sigh, but it quickly changed for a content hum as Salim leaned closer to place a soft kiss on the ex-marine’s cheek.
“You know what,” You pushed yourself up, reaching for Salim’s shoulder for leverage, handing the textbook to him. “Ask me too. I wanna see if I’m able to match Jase’s knowledge. And I’ll ask you [language] too, Salim. Jason, you ask us as well for some English synonyms and whoever has the fewest points will clean up after dinner. Deal?” Raising your eyebrows with a challenging look you shot your hand out.
For a moment the two men looked at each other, questioning their want for a tedious chore in case of losing the battle, but after a moment Jason’s competitiveness took over.
With a daring look he smirked at you, taking your hand and shaking it, while Salim grunted in defeat.
“Fine, let’s play. But if I lose, I won’t ve making dinner for you.” He stated, pulling his reading glasses out from his shirt’s pocket as you and Jason moved closer, getting ready for the battle.
What better way to decide who will clean the house, than a dictionary competition.
Shoutout to my first beta reader, dear friend, mutual, pen mate, fellow writer @my-haunted-heart Thank you for the help my dear!!💖💗💖💗💖💗

After a frenetic painting session I have finished up an entire Frostgrave Warband! A guy in a local game store discord mentioned he was thinking about starting a campaign and I  said “well damn I’ve never played Frostgrave but I’m down to learn!” and I slapped together a warband from my bits box and here we are!
Tumblr media
I’m going to give the Wizard with the book a coat of matte varnish to lock in the speedpaints and then I’m gonna do further detail work on him
Tumblr media
If I’m understanding Frostgrave right I should have a full warband and two potential substitutes. Wizard+Apprentice, three Man at Arms, one Infantry, two Archers (one potentially a Ranger), two Thieves (one potentially a Treasure Hunter), and two Thugs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These lads are a mix of Perry and Wargames Atlantic Afghan Tribesmen (plus a few bits from the Gripping Beast Arab Archers & Spearmen box), with the Wizard being from the Berber Foot Command pack from Artizan Designs.
